Five Star Reviews: | 60% Love this affordable heater!! December 25, 2016 We have 2 Eden Pure (expensive) Infrared heaters that clunked out. I always thought they were the cream of the crop for heaters but so surprised that this more affordable heater works just as well if not better! I bought a warranty it wasn't expensive. The top does get hot so don't keep anything on it or watch out if you have small children. I use it in my bedroom because our heat duct doesn't work in there. Keeps the room warm unless it is an extremely cold/windy winter day then it has difficulty keeping up as any heater would. Overall I am pleased with this heater, had for over a year with no problems. We keep it running 24/7. Not too noisy, I don't mind the background noise/humming of the motor. I like the remote control I can turn it down from my bed if I get too warm or turn it up. Once a month I rinse out the filter in the back it gets clogged with dust and runs better when it is clean. Don't waste your money on those expensive brand heaters this works fine for much less money! I had a previous model by this brand and I loved it. Also helped dry the laundry I hung ... December 4, 2016 I have electric baseboard and the electricity rates in CT are outrageous. Not to mention the fees and extra charges on top of the electric usage. I do what I can to avoid using the electric baseboard, the main heat source is my pellet stove. But for my finished basement I used a plug in heater. I had a previous model by this brand and I loved it. Also helped dry the laundry I hung to dry. The heating element stopped working after several years of faithful service, so why not replace it with the newer version? Well, I did. This is a great heater. Good size, nice cozy heat. I never had a problem with outlets burning up, but I have replaced them before using this style heater. I would advise you have your outlets upgraded if they're old and have the wiring pinned into the back. They should be looped around the screw of the outlet on the sides in the corresponding terminals. Even after replacing outlets, I had an issue with a Lasko oscillating quartz heater overheating my outlet. Needless to say I stay away from those and only use this type, the infrared heater. Great heater it totally heated my living area and kitchen! July 10, 2016 I live in Florida and sometimes it does get cold i purchased and used this item this past winter, I have 2 central heat and airconditioners on my two story house and most of the time we are in the living room/kitchen most of the day, i decided this would be the best solution for keeping my downstairs warm for the winter without running both units all day. So i set my upstairs on 68 (as heat rises it would not be on all the time, and i completely cut my bottom one off and ran this heater with it heating only the kitchen, and living room. my heating bill actually dropped in half this winter!!! i will be using it again and again and might purchase another for the upstairs and completely cut off my upstairs too!!! i love the remote feature also! Excellent Area Heater December 29, 2014 We use it in a basement play area, about 60ftx20ft. Without any additional conditioned air other than 2 vents from the HVAC, the basement seems to stay around 62-65F year round. I was hesitant about other people saying that this was oversold as a large room heater, but it heats up the room quickly, even when set to efficient mode (68F). I can't say how much power it uses, because I only turn it on as needed, however after 1 month of using it, there hasn't been a noticeable change in my power bill. It's not quiet, but not obnoxiously loud either. It has a fan, it pushes hot air, it does make noise. If you are looking for something super quiet, look elsewhere. The only very minor drawback is that the remote uses the same frequency as my volume button on my TV and whenever I turn up or turn down the volume, it changes the sleep mode setting on the heater. Not a deal breaker since I can just walk to the TV and change the volume there. Attached is a picture with the heater in the far north corner. RV March 6, 2014 got this for the really cold days in the RV.. cool to the touch and puts off great heat.. works well. | 60% Good Product with good shipping. November 1, 2015 This product works exactly as described. The humidifier is easy to fill and there is a noticeable diference in the air quality when the purifier is running. It was delivered timely and I am very pleased with the product. I would recommend this product. I plan to purchase another unit. So far so good October 22, 2015 So far I have been using this heater for about 10 days to heat a well-insulated 375 sq. foot room. It is doing a great job of keeping the room warm without hot or cool spots. The floor is concrete, and I've noticed when I go in there barefoot in the early morning the floor is not cold. It has been down to 33 F a couple of nights here and the heater kept the room in the low sixties on the second "bar". I was initially disappointed that it did not have a digital thermostat but the bars which show a heat range work well for what I need. We'll find out later how this heater affects our electric bill. Does the Job March 21, 2013 Got this heater January 5th been usung it all winter as it is March 21st and worked great as I just received my oil delivery today, last time I got oil 200 gallons was December 2nd. Usually go through 2 oil deliveries for this time and this year was a lot colder than 2012. With 200 gallon of oil costing approx $780.00 COD x 2 = $1,560 and I have a small 1000 sq ft ranch and live on Long Island, NY. My electric bill went up approx $100 - $120 per month x 3 months = $360 Thats a savings of $1,200 so far and this moring in March its 30 degrees with a high of 39 funny last year it was a freaky 70 . What I do is I have 3. During the day and night before bed I use 1 for the living room and kitchen. Oil heat does not kick in once in a while I may click the oil on to heat up the house a couple of degrees. At bed time shut off living room heater and keep thermastat at 62 and use the other 2 to heat bedrooms with door closed at level 2 on heater, they come on as needed and do not run all night. Thats my story and how I use them, not for everyone but times are tough and heating oil expensive. I have 1 Montel, works good but cost a lot, The Extreme power works just as well and is $300 less, wish I would have got all Extreme Power Infrared Heaters! Love this heater!!!!! December 10, 2012 I read all the reviews before I bought it and am very glad I bought one! This is a great heater and it works very, very well. I really like the humidifier feature it makes a real diference when it is running. This heater keeps the room warm even when it is 6 degress outside - and the power cord never heats up which makes me feel a lot safer when I leave it on when i'm not at home. I had a more expensive one and it did not work half as well as this one. It makes a very low sound and looks good. If you are looking for an infrared heater this is the one to buy!! I love it!!! Works exactly as described. January 19, 2012 This product works exactly as described. I have the unit in a 500 sf +/- area and it barely runs even while it is -0 outside. The humidifier is easy to fill and there is a noticeable diference in the air quality when the purifier is running. Great heater for money December 21, 2011 I have three brands of these types of heater. I like this unit best for heat plus the purifier and humidifier are a bonus. Only negative is that it is somewhat noisy. Problem would be solved if had wood case, not metal, as do my other brands. |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% It was an added bonus that it also had castors on the bottom for easy mobility within the residence November 11, 2017 Unit heats quickly and quietly. It was an added bonus that it also had castors on the bottom for easy mobility within the residence. warm October 14, 2017 another purchase for my mother, she is 87 and cold all the time (lives up in Indiana) she really like this unit it seems well made and will see how it works for her over the winter months, but so far so good. I received this about a month ago and it worked fine. It was used to warm up a 2 ... March 6, 2017 For now I am giving it a three. I received this about a month ago and it worked fine. It was used to warm up a 2 car garage and in my opinion it does that pretty well. I also like how light and simple it is to use. However Its been about 37 days and it completely stopped turning on. It wasn't dropped or damaged at all and Im hoping I can return it and give a second one a shot. If they return it with no problem I would definitely give this a 4.5 until than I will stay at a 3.Ok problem fixed . Works great to me :) Keeps us snuggly warm at night December 28, 2016 Does what I had hoped it would and keeps 2 average sized rooms, with a hallway separating (approx 600sq ft total) at a comfortable temperature. I have insulation issues in the upper level of my home and these rooms get very cold in the winter months. No issues with outlets overheating for me as mentioned in other reviews. I use for about 8-10 hr intervals on a 68 degree setting. My only complaint is that it does make a lot of noise when adjusting temperature and when the thermostat kicks the unit on (we use it during the night mostly so this can be disruptive). | 17% it has the humidifier so it is nice since air gets so dry December 21, 2016 this is a neat little heater. it heats a small room well in a very short time but it does not heat large areas quickly. it has the humidifier so it is nice since air gets so dry. it has a very attractive case and it has cut my utility cost down. Ambient Space Heater GOOD, all other operations OK (humidifier and air purifier) February 1, 2016 Lovely appliance. Works in my spacious 1 bedroom with high ceilings. Low impact on my electric bill. In the future I will buy a different brand because there is no telephone or contact information for servicing the appliance if needed. I purchased the amazon service agreement, but not too sure how that will work out. Heating my space was my goal, and the air purifying and humidifier are very minor duties. If you want an all-in-one, keep looking. Nice Heater November 1, 2013 This is a nice heater. When it hits a certain temp (based on personal setting) it shuts off, and turns on when it cools back down again. This definitely keeps the rooms warm. Good heater March 21, 2013 We use this in our drafty kitchen. The cats love to lie in front of it. The remote comes in very handy and saves bending down. It warms up a fairly large area quickly, with several temperature settings. I bought it also for the humidifier function. That unit is fairly easy to clean, but I learned after the first time. to lay out the parts in the direction they go back together, as that is confusing. The water bottle is easy to fill, but requires frequent filling, as the bottle is small. Efficient and affordable October 8, 2012 This heater arrived in record time, works well and you can use tap water for the humidifier! The fan is a bit noisy but has a quiet setting that reduces the noise. Worth the price. |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% Not Good April 25, 2017 Doesn't warm up room at all. I feel the heat only if I'm sitting right up next to it. Not for large rooms January 20, 2017 Nice design, quality look and feel. The addition of the second remote is a nice touch. It will not however, heat a large room. I bought this to keep me warm in the basement. If I put it directly under my desk blowing on me, it will keep me warm. It will not heat the basement however. We like it. Does a descent job December 23, 2016 We like it. Does a descent job, but would be good for a 350sqft are at max. Our family room is around 450sqft, my plan was to keep our central heater at 63~65F, and then use this one in our family room to bring the temperature to 72F there. This can't pull the trick, and after running for 24 hours straight at max settings, temperature in our family room is at 70F. Won't be much economical in the long run. Warms up great February 18, 2016 I bought this for our downstairs area, and yes it gets hot, and the fan works great, but I didn't notice a lot of extra warmth throughout the area. It says it was for a large room, but it worked well in a really small room. The features of the box staying safe to touch is GREAT if you have kids and pets. Also, I love that it rolls around. It was worth the buy, just wish it warmed up a bigger space like I thought it would. It's ok February 7, 2016 It's ok, I use it in a 20 X 20 room. It takes a long time to get up to 70 degrees. Not near as fast as I thought it would be. | 5% We were hoping for more warmth and more coverage than ... January 23, 2016 We were hoping for more warmth and more coverage than this provides. It is also very loud, even on it's "quiet" mode. So so... January 16, 2016 This is an ok heater. It gets the job done but it is very noisy and there is no fan speed control! I have to crank my TV volume pretty loud in order to hear over the heater. There is a "quiet mode" but it doesn't really change anything. Also when mine was delivered a thumb screw had come loose and the heating element was flopping around. Biggest issue for me with this heater is there's NO FAN SPEED CONTROL. Heating is good, but some parts came in very dusty condition January 13, 2016 The overall heating feels good, but the condition of product is not satisfactory. When we opened the package, the white plastic water tank was dusty and looked like as if it was already used! Just ok December 18, 2013 I researched this product before buying it and it had excellent ratings. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with how it heats a room....not well. A bit disappointed February 28, 2013 I purchased this heater because of the humidifier function. I don't have a problem with the noise as some reviewers mentioned. I do find however that the output does not heat the size room I expected. Perhaps it is because of my tall ceilings? In any event, I would have been better off with the 50.00 option of a tower heater from Sam's club. Heating element is reportedly inferior November 27, 2012 This item looks exactly like the Energy Saver 3000 Infrared Heater in every detail except for the brand name. It apparently has all the same features, too, except for the heating element. The Energy Saver brand has a PTC heating element, which reportedly has a life of 80,000 hours and will not become less efficient with time. The Quartz heating element in this item reportedly has a life of between 5,000 and 20,000 hours and becomes less efficient with time and reportedly is difficult to replace. I have the Energy Saver brand. It has saved me a ton on energy costs, and I plan to get another. |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% only lasted 2 months. March 16, 2016 Lasted about 2 months. Can't return through Amazon now so I will try under warranty. Liked it before it stopped working! I'll update if my return is handled well. Despite its size the heat output @ 1500 watts seems less than a good hair dryer February 9, 2016 NOT for a large room. Despite its size the heat output @ 1500 watts seems less than a good hair dryer. Remote control worked well and the fan was not noisy but lacked the power to project the heat. Very low to the ground hard to get at and ... November 27, 2015 Very low to the ground hard to get at and set up for an older person. Used it once and tripped all the switches, my electrician is away for winter so not much help to me. The instructions say to have it on a switch on its own. Where in your house do you have one thing running off its own switch ! Kept it as I can't pick it up on my own to return it. Hopefully electrician can see to it when he returns from Florida. Hope we have a warm winter. Very little heat March 23, 2015 I read the reviews before I purchased this item. Many review said that it heated a large area and that it was the only source of heat and it worked well. Some of the reviews said that it produced very little heat. Unfortunately, I received a heater that produced very little heat. It does have a blower, but it seems like the air only heats about 2-3 feet in front of the heater. To be fair, I used this heater in my attached garage during some of the coldest days ever in this area. (Outside Temperatures at -5 to -15 and will chills at -25 to -40). It simply could not raise the temperature in the garage. On the positive side, the garage did maintain its temperature at freezing (which was the ultimate goal with my water pipes in the ceiling). So, I am giving the heater the benefit of the doubt because it was the coldest winter on record for my area. If this was used in a room with more insulation - it may work better. But in an attached garage with no other heat source, it was only average. Not the Heater for Minnesota! February 23, 2015 Purchased because lower price than Eden Pure, but it does not put out the heat that the EPure does. Have used Eden Pure for many years and I should have stayed with it. I live in northern MN so maybe the Lifesmart would be adequate in a warmer climate. We're 24 below zero this morning when I know from experience that the Eden Pure would be pumping out enough heat to keep my rooms warm. This one? Not doing the job. Metal Lukewarm Heat January 2, 2015 So this is advertised at Large Room. I say Large Cost, Low Heat is more accurate. Three modes, I believe the lowest is 64 or 68degrees, this is your Economy setting. It would work what in a studio apartment? Bought this for a Living room and still not warm. I saw a 6fold increase in Electricity Fees and Useage leaving this on its Middle Fan Setting for 2hrs a day for a month. I believe there are better, and probably, costlier models. This is made and China and not sufficient for my large (small by some standards) room. | 5% So needed a good air purifier November 4, 2013 Hasn't really been cold enough to rate the heater but I will say I can breathe when it's on just have to fill it a lot. As for the air purifier it's not doing it's job at all so very disappointed. So got to spend more $$ on one. Ok it has cooled off the last couple days to the high 20s low 30s. So I will say that this heater is suppose to heat 1000 sq ft. Well I live in a rv probably 500 sq ft total but it is insulated pretty good and this heater doesn't hear as well as it says I have to use the electric fireplace to warm XtremePower Infrared Heater February 25, 2013 I ran this XtremePower Infrared Heater in my living room for 9 1/2 hours & my thermostat temperature didn't raise even 1 degree. Quartz infrared heater February 23, 2013 set 3 lite from bottom come on at 74 degree set 2 lite from bottom will not come on until 67 degree to big of a gap can not set for 70degree. return heater 15 days ago have not receive refund as of today Xtreme Power 1500W Quartz Infrared Heater January 30, 2013 This unit is "Xtreme"ly NOISEY. The fan never ever shuts off. The constant noise wears on your nerves. And wait until you see the enormous increase in your electric bill. The cost to run this unit brought tears to my eyes. Noise but helpful vendor January 24, 2013 Vendor was great to work with, but heater was very loud (engine noise). Also, it gave off a strange oder. Doesn't heat well January 1, 2013 Received the heater in a timely fashion & was packaged well. Was not impressed at all on how it heats or the humidifier. There was no humidity coming out after 1-1/2 hours of use, I could barely feel the heat from 4 feet away. |
One Star Reviews: | 9% I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A LIFESMART HEATER February 27, 2017 Product worked well for a few weeks , Now the heater won't run at all. An E1 error code displays on the heater telling it that is overheated or there is not enough power for the unit to run. This is not the case though, I've done my research and there are many similar cases out there of this same problem happening and when the manufacturer is contacted customer support is very poor and don't seem to care about any issues that you're having with the product. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A LIFESMART HEATER. buyer beware. Runs your electric bill through the roof! January 13, 2017 Very expensive to operate. Will run up your electric bill Heat is good and works well BUT! We started out the night with what would have been ... December 12, 2016 We started out the night with what would have been a five star review. It heated up our room quickly and efficiently and didn't blow out the circuits in our poorly wired, very old house. But then I had to get up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. When I returned to the bedroom a couple hours later, the room was full of a slight burning smell as well as a thin haze of smoke. I had to leave the door open to air out the room. Needless to say, I shut off the heater, reported this to the manufacturer, and will be returning it. Very scary! Don't be tricked as I was January 22, 2016 I'm never sure what to believe anymore when reading reviews. It's baffling how some, if they're even legit, report to this product being great, when the one I ordered barely heats the space 1 foot in front of it. It is sitting 3 feet away from me right now and all I can feel is cold air passing over me. With my hand 6 inches away from the vent it finally begins feels warm. This seems to be a well-marketed ripoff. | 13% Problems, error code, absent service. July 5, 2017 Worked well for a while. An error code, filter full/clogged, from a faulty sensor. Called manufacturer's 800 many times. Not once getting an answer. Now this item is unusable. Don't recommend it! May 22, 2016 Only lasted thru 1season and the heater part went out! Don't recommend it! Dead on arrival December 27, 2013 This heater didn't work when I pulled it out of the box. There was some rough handling in shipping, but not sure that was the culprit. I would read other reviews to see if mine is the only bad experience. It was difficult to send back and get money for too. Beware, this heater is not so good! December 5, 2013 This heater is junk! The fan don't work any more. Used it a few times the fan worked and now it doesn't and the cabinet got really warm! I unplugged it. Scared to leave it on all night or if I go out or to work! Don't need a house fire because of a faulty heater! I won't buy anything else electric from the internet. Too much hassle to return it. I think they all sell there junk on the internet knowing its a hassle to return it. As for the heater, well, I did get burnt for buying it! At least that's the only thing that got burnt. Just be careful if you buy a infrared heater. Read the customer reviews. Buy one from a store so it won't be a hassle to return if needed. You will be better off. False Claims, Horribly Inefficient, This "Heater" has it All! November 8, 2013 Almost everything about this heater is shoddy. I knew I was in trouble when I first received the item; the packaging had numerous misspellings and grammatical errors. Despite the fact the "company" is named "Xtreme Power US", there is no website I could find, nor is there any apparent connection to the United States (other than the fact the packaging proclaims "Engineer in USA" (were they attempting to say their product was engineered in the USA, or were they simply stating that the United States has engineers?)).On to the heater itself; I was living in an apartment when I bought this heater and I simply needed it to heat my 175 sqft living room, and my 120 sqft bedroom. It was loud and needless to say, did not do the job. I'm not one to demand my house be at 72 degrees at all times, but, when left on overnight with no help from my furnace, the heater kept the rooms at a balmy 58 degrees when I woke up (the outside temperature was around 30).All in all if you're looking for a laugh, definitely buy this heater simply to read the writing on the box. But if you're looking for an actual heater to keep you warm, you're probably better off burning the box for heat. Not really effective. February 8, 2013 It says XtremePower but it really isn't as effective as a heater with a proper fan. I put this unit in our bedroom/TV room and it just doesn't get the job done. (and we live in Atlanta, GA!!!) I was expecting nice cozy heat and we ended up having to close off the room as well as the closets and access to the bathroom. My advice is to NOT buy this waste of time. |
