Five Star Reviews: | 55% Very Good Product for the Price July 12, 2017 I wanted to try the oil based heater in a converted basement workout room, and this model performed as I had hoped. Set the temperature and that is what you will feel whenever you enter the room no matter what the outside temperature is. Totally quiet and relatively quick to get the room to temperature. Easy to start and program. Surface is warm but not too hot to the touch and you can feel the heat radiating when it is up to temperature. Priced just right. I haven't done the economic calculations, but my feeling is that it may take more power to function than one might think it should. Perhaps other reviewers can offer input on that issue. Good value April 30, 2017 This is an effective heater, especially when it's left on over a period. We've been using it for a couple of months and it is quiet, easy to operate, and truly improves the comfort level in our large living area. We have 14 ft ceilings and a wall of French doors to our balcony. We do not expect one small oil-filled heater to keep our entire living area cosy - but this one makes a considerable difference when we have a cold snap. It does not produce a sudden rush of heat, as you would get with a fan heater - it's all about lifting and maintaining a room temperature at a comfortable level. If we used it in a smaller or enclosed space, I'm pretty sure it would feel cosy in no time. It's a quality heater and we are very satisfied with it. Plan on using this in your basement? Read this review. January 28, 2017 I have a finished basement, that sadly we hardly used in the winter because it was so cold. This heater absolutely solved that problem. It is also COMPLETELY SILENT. Seriously, no noise, which was a big selling point for me. The best selling point however, is the timer. The fact that I can schedule when it turns off and on is extremely useful considering this is going in my basement and I don't want it running while I'm not home during the week or late at night after I go to sleep. I did some research on heaters and the biggest flaw I found with this style of heater is the time it takes to heat up (25-60 mins depending on the room size). This is again solved by the timer. I just schedule it to turn on everyday a few mins before I get home so that it's nice and warm by the time I'm ready to use it. The other flaw is more with this model specifically, but is not bad enough to be worth a star. The flaw is that the heater does not tell you the temp of the room you are in. The digital thermometer only tells you the temperature the heater is set to. I know, it's petty, but it also seems like a simple fix for the manufacturer. Hopefully they figure that out in future models because then this would be perfect. After getting this heater me and my family can finally use our finished basement the way we intended to and ultimately that's why I give this product 5 stars. Setting Expectations... January 23, 2017 Wanted to set some expectations for those who are deciding like I was.The Good- compact design with nice Castor's- hot but not burning to the touch on Max setting- take about 2 hours on max to raise the ambient temp of my apt of 850sq ft from 55°F to 65°F with an outside temp of 45°F.- 2 Timers that allows you to set one for morning and one for after work. It's nice to wake up and return home to a warm apartment with hardwood floors.- remote is convenient- I primarily use the lowest setting for about 6 hours a day and my electricity bill has risen about $20-30 at $0.19 / kwh- continues to provide heat approx 45-60 mins after shutoff.- good amount of cord for ease of positioning. The bad- it feels like it's slow, because when your cold you want to feel some comfort fast, but it's not built this way by design. I use one of those dish looking heaters from Costco for immediate relief.- I'm 35 with excellent vision and can barely make out the current settings on the display under normal room lighting.- remote is useful but I can't tell what settings I'm on from 5 ft away.- when plugged into certain outlets on max setting the unit can trip some breakers. I had to remove some loads off my living room outlets but found out on the low setting everything was fine. Great space heater November 1, 2016 Great space heater. I like the scheduled time feature to control when it starts and stops. This is great for a room where you want heat during certain times of a day. I find this unit great for in a chilly bed-room or boosting the heat of the house. These heaters provide quiet heating, that doesn't have clicking noises, fans that keep you awake at night. While living on the east coast we found these heated better than a heat-pump during sub-zero temperature winters. Have placed on a floor air vent to boost heading in a room.Dislikes:When it loses power, it forgets the settings. For a room that you just want to keep above 'X' degrees go with the manual version. quiet and warm December 15, 2015 I used ceramic heaters for more than 10 years. The noise of blowing fans and dried air are always a problem. We purchased this on December 3rd and used it every night since we got it. In the beginning, I was a bit worry because the leaking issue mentioned in some of the reviews. I left some paper towel under the unit. There are no sign of leaking oil so far. The heat is calm and nice. We didn't notice the "click" noise mentioned in some of the reviews. We have the house central heater set to 71 at night and the DeLonghi set to 75 for the room and monitored the power usage with a belkin energy use monitor (fun toy for men). It would cost approximately $20 per month running 12 hours a day for a 300 sq-ft room.PRO:- quiet- auto on/off timer- energy efficientCON:- the front display need some improvement (am/pm almost not see-able, no backlight for night)- remote is totally useless- timer setting is a bit confusion | 54% worked realy well! July 11, 2017 used it for emergency heat in kitchen as the main heater died. Ended up using it all winter. works really well. quiet even heat. Had it plugged into a power meter to see how much electricity and $$$ it used. Cost came to $125 bucks or so for use from Sept-March as primerly heat in a small kitchen. Not bad for New England weather!. if it could be mounted and not in the way I''d keep it over the regualr heat in the room! This is amazing. My S March 2, 2017 This is amazing. My S.O. got one for his art studio, which doesn't have heat. It's a huge room and it kept it at a perfect, nice even temp. So I got one for my studio, which is much smaller, but this keeps it at a perfect temp as well. We're so happy with them that my mom bought one for her quilting studio and one for my dad's room on the ranch. Very efficient electric heater January 20, 2017 This is a very effective heater. We're using it in a cold bedroom (of a very old house) that is heated only by convection floor vents from the first floor. The legal warnings in the instruction manual made me almost afraid to use it, but I positioned it against a wall with no problem. The thermostat works well. The only problem I've encountered is that it makes a slight popping sound (due, I suppose, to differential expansion of the metal casing) every 20 seconds or so, which can be quite loud in the night stillness, and so my wife requested that I move it further from the bed. recommend it to everyone December 21, 2016 I am extremely impressed with this product. The noise level only came on once when I first turned it on. It never happened anymore. keeps the whole bedroom warm. recommend it to everyone. Good heater. The timer is basic December 2, 2016 Good heater. The timer is basic. You can only set it for a number of hours instead of being able to program it for certain times of the day. I would recommend this unit if you have a medium size room ... April 1, 2016 I picked up this heater to use for our bedroom, it works very well, it does make some pinging sounds as its heating up but nothing that would cause alarm. I use it on energy save mode, we have an older unit and it has two modes, low heat and high, this one on energy save mode seems to be low heat, on high heat it puts out some serious heat. Some have claimed the one they had smelled, ours had a slight smell when it first arrived but after a week or so of use it was gone.I would recommend this unit if you have a medium size room you need some additional heat in, it has a digital read out and you can set the temp just like your house thermostat. Good product I have enjoyed it, | 68% Everyone should have one for electric heaters! February 16, 2017 As an ex-firefighter, I can attest to how often electric space heaters cause house fires. That very experience occurred to me last week when in the middle of the night I jumped out of bed in full on alarm mode. I smelled burning plastic.Turns out, the girlfriend had tossed her shirt across the room and it landed on top of our electric fan heater. Later in the night, when the heater cycled on it restricted the air flow from the heater which caused the heater to overheat. (not to mention the smell of ironed clothes) When I woke up with alarm bells in my head, the first thing I checked was the heater and when I saw the shirt I thought "ok, thats all it is".. but clothes don't normally smell like burning plastic, so I kept looking around and sure enough, the wall outlet the heater was plugged into was in full on meltdown. This was a bit sobering - we're used to putting out fires started by electric heaters and you never expect it to happen to yourself.I ordered three of these units that same day. After repairing the outlet, I just plugged this in over it. It looks great - the green light is kind of reassuring but for the bedroom, I wish it was dimmer.Regardless I'm happy to know if I'm not home and my girlfriend decides to play peek-a-boo with the heater again, this unit will kill the power before it melts down the house. Also, she now has a fire extinguisher on her side of the bed. |
Four Star Reviews: | 21% I'm happy with this heater and recommend it April 15, 2017 I bought this to use as an extra heat source on very cold days/evenings when I'm in my living room, or any other part of my house where I feel I need more heat in the winter months. Since my living room area is fairly large, I wasn't sure if this would really do the job. I've been very happy with the heat this radiator heater puts out. It heats up very quickly (when the unit is warming up it may make a few pinging sounds, but not for long) The remote is handy for turning the unit on; turning the heat up and down; and finally off. Actually, I haven't been able to see another way to turn the unit on without the remote. Like other reviewers noted, it is difficult to see the writing on the face of the unit because of the black background. One thing I would have liked is for the handle to protrude out more so that the unit could be moved around more easily. The heat comes straight up out of the top. Not much heat flows from the sides, which I had wrongly assumed before buying this heater. All in all, though, I am pleased with this purchase and have not had any issues with the unit itself. Best heater in our home February 6, 2017 I purchased this heater and it think it is a perfect heater. our bedroom stays very cold in-spite of central heating in the apartment. This heater in the bedroom made the room feel very cozy, warm and comfortable. It is a very quiet heater. I wish to buy another of this heater for the dining room. Another great thing about the heater is that it has wheels so it's easy to move back and forth. However, every time the heater is plugged in, we need to set the clock and the default temperature setting for the heater is 96 degrees Fahrenheit which is rather unrealistic. So the temperature needs to be adjusted as well. It does not keep in it memory. Also for some reason when we plug the heater in the other bedroom the fuse goes off but I think that is not something about the heater it's the electrical power problem of the apartment. So far this heater has been running great. High Temperature Settings, Dependable with only Two Drawbacks January 14, 2017 I live in Michigan, where it gets frigid and I live in a building with radiators powered by a boiler. That means no control over heat for me especially during those in between months of October and early November when it's not cold enough for the building management to start up the boilers. That's where the DeLonghi is really beneficial. Also, they help when the temperature isn't cold enough (30-40 Fahrenheit) where the building doesn't run the boiler long enough to keep the apartment sufficiently (in my opinion) heated. Add big beautiful, but drafty windows to the mix and you can understand. The heater's temperature goes up to 95 degrees F, which I appreciate, because my Honeywell heater that I retired only went up to 80 degrees unless I put it on the "High" setting whatever that temperature is.I hadn't used electric heaters before because my prior home had forced air heating I could control. I felt more comfortable with a radiant heater not catching fire compared to the other types of portable heaters although I learned it might not matter if you don't plug it directly into the wall socket. They are more ideal for smaller spaces not large spaces, despite some reviews I read online. I have one in each of my main rooms. They work great for my kitchen (13 x 12 ft) and my bedroom (12 x 11 ft), but not as effective for my (20 x 13 ft) living room. On top of that I have 10 ft high ceilings in all of these rooms, just to give you some perspective. The only two drawbacks are that 1) the digital temperature can't be seen in the dark, something my Honeywell had and 2) there is no handle to move the heater around something my Honeywell heater also had. I would definitely recommend it, although my first two were bought at Lowes and the third was bought on Amazon to replace my Honeywell. I paid more for the third because neither Lowes nor Home Depot carry this particular model anymore so I had to buy on Amazon. Delivers as Promised - Excellent Supplemental Heater January 2, 2017 After three months of use, this unit has performed as advertised (or better). I would rate it 4.25 - 4.5 star out of 5.I use it (and a 2nd unit) to act as a steady base of reliable supplemental heat in a log-cabin in the high elevation mountains of Idaho. The units were put to the test quickly as December 2017 provided a number of -24+ (F) overnight lows. This unit provides slow gradual heat to the point of the desired temperature.Advantages:1. Easy to use and move to specific location (even while heating as the platform is highly stable).2. Easy to control temperature and power consumption setting.3. Oil (self contained and manufacturer sealed in unit) method eliminates the irritating fan noise of other type space heaters. Yes oil will crackle slightly for an initial few moments if the room is cold and the temperature setting is at max (95 f).Areas for improvement1. The on off timer settings while very easy to program are lost once the unit is unplugged (e.g., you leave for a few days and unplug as recommended). Make the timer settings programmable memory stored with the device. it would have been a great way to integrate it into my smart home devices December 25, 2016 Beats fan-based space heaters hands down. It's quiet, heats a small room efficiently to any specified temperature, and doesn't dry me out. There was a slight oil smell at first, but it went away after the first day.As others have mentioned, the only caveat (and worth docking a star) is that if you leave it unplugged for 2 minutes then it resets. If it didn't do this and instead kept the previous setting, it would have been a great way to integrate it into my smart home devices, controlled by a smart outlet. Heats a 400 sq ft room with 10 ft ceilings and is used as a primary source of heat March 13, 2016 This is a replacement radiator and replaces another DeLonghi that was more than 10 years old. The first one did not break but we upgraded and gave our previous one to a family members. It's used to heat a 400 sq foot room with 10 foot ceilings and is used as the primary heat during the winter. It works perfectly and we set the temperature at 65 degrees and it keeps the room toasty. It does not provide instantaneous heat like an electric heater but works better in a situation where constant heat is required. | 19% These are great alternatives to traditional space heaters April 4, 2017 These are great alternatives to traditional space heaters. We use them in our children's rooms during cold winters. While they get warm to touch, they definitely are not a safety hazard. They hear rooms quickly and consistently. Good product for small & isolated rooms January 23, 2017 This is a good product! Ufortunately as our apartment is not isolated, as the windows were not built for a cold a windy weather, I'm still using the heater on cold nights/days and that leaves us with dried air :/ Still works after 2 years! November 22, 2016 Still works after 2 years! First, i must say it heats the room really well. I use it in both my bedroom, and my family room. The temperature control works well as long as I don't use the ECO function. When using the ECO mode it usually heats up, cycles off and never comes back on for some reason. Next problem is the metal clicking. When it is on LOW mode it hardly makes any clicking. When it is on medium or high it clicks a lot as it cools and reheats quickly. Maybe this would not be the case in a larger space where it is cycling on more often without having the chance to cool so much. When it clicks I switch it to low, and then it goes away. Since low is more than adequate for a bedroom, that's what i leave it on, and I have no problems. The "chimney effect" design does seem to work as you can feel the air rising above it, but it is nothing drastic (but i mainly use on low, the effect may be more pronounced on high). All the additional chimney metalwork has got to be the source of the clicking. I would recommend this heater for the temperature control feature (would be nice if the eco worked better), but not so much because of the chimney part. I have seen complaints of smell, but I have had none. When I unpacked it there was some Styrofoam stuck in between some of the fins from the box, so it is a good idea to check for this. Likely the cause. Arrived on time and in good condition. I ran it in my shop for ... April 25, 2016 Arrived on time and in good condition. I ran it in my shop for ~ 24 hours until the 'new' smell went away then moved it to the 400-ish sq ft cottage. It's only been used a few times but I am very happy with it. ... only had a few days and so far works great. As advertised January 24, 2016 Have only had a few days and so far works great. As advertised, this unit is silent except for the occasional expansion sounds inherent in any radiant heating device. Seems well made and does a great job heating my living room or bedroom at night. Controls are simple and intuitive to use. I may give it another star if it still works a few years down the road so it is too early to give it that 5th star. I have it on medium and it's managed to heat up my 14x18 room quite nicely. Takes about an hour for it to reach ... January 16, 2016 Other reviewers have complained about the PING sounds that this heater makes when cooling off. I've observed that it makes plenty of those sounds after using it at the maximum power, but almost none when used at the medium power setting. I have it on medium and it's managed to heat up my 14x18 room quite nicely. Takes about an hour for it to reach equilibrium on the medium setting, but I don't mind. Also true to the other reviews, this heater does not have any dangerously hot exposed regions, despite heating plenty of air. You can ignore the manufacturer's warnings and stand right over it, if you like. (Note that you'll probably need to be six feet tall to accomplish this.) :D | 16% We will see. October 29, 2017 Seems fine, but has never really been really tested. We will see what happens when it turns really cold. How to verify it actually works? May 16, 2017 This is a tricky one. I mean, it works, there's a green light to indicate that the temperature is ok so I'm guessing this means the device is "doing what's is supposed to" but who knows if it really does what it says it does? there isn't even a sort of a test button like in smoke detectors that will tell you the circuits are working (sorry for the non technical terms here, I'm not an electrician...). So, assuming the device works as advertised, I would say this is a good product. The build quality looks good and the price is ok (this is a 2 pack). I use it with a room heater in the basement so was ok to spend a little more and know that I'm reducing the chance of fire or electrical issues in the basement where sometimes the heater is left unattended, and I hope I will never have to see this device at work. Okay March 14, 2017 Seems to work okay but the light inside is larger and more diffuse than I had expected. Makes it look cheaply made. Very nice, but I got a used February 3, 2017 got this with electric stove heater because of fire risks with all space heaters. Very nice, but I got a used, (not really, but someone bought it and never took it out of plastic package, which is hard to cut into. the price was half of the brand new one. I paid about $12, but full price would have been a lot for this switch. My husband said we really didn't need this safety plug, but better safe than sorry. We can use it with some other electric heater and electronics where the plugs can get hot as well. Great other than the light January 14, 2017 I read the prior reviews about the bright indicator light and purchased it thinking I could put a piece of electrical tape over it and have no issues. The plastic case is thin and the internal light is so bright that even with electrical tape over the front the whole thing glows green like a night light which is pretty annoying when you're trying to keep your room dark. Outside of that it works as advertised. |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% OK March 28, 2017 I purchased the color black because a previous reviewer suggested that it was better. However, I have found my old (many years old) works better in the heat that it dispenses. I would suggest doing a comparison before purchase. Not as warm as I expected. March 21, 2017 I studied all the information about this heater before I ordered it. But it does not get the temp in my living room above 60 unless it is warm outside as well. Then it will bring the temp to 65 and this is not warm enough for comfort. Great in function, weak in features. January 16, 2017 Functionally it is perfect... but it resets back to 99 degrees when it is unplugged and moved to another room and with no backlight to the screen or buttons you have to use a flashlight or turn the lights on if you move it at night. It does a GREAT job of heating a room about 14x18 and maintaining the temperature once you get it in place. Okay. November 21, 2015 Okay.-It takes a few minutes to reach max heat.-Does a good job of heating a room.-The cord is in front (the display sided) which is counter intuitive-The display is tiny and NOT illuminated, which means you have to either have really good eyesight or you have to get THISCLOSE to read the display-the only place to grip it is a small hand hold underneath the display which makes moving it really difficult on carpet, there should have been a handle or hand hold at both ends Not user friendly October 12, 2013 There are multiple warnings on the literature telling you to "unplug the heater when not in use in order to avoid a fire". The people writing these warnings didn't realize that the heater has no internal battery so if you unplug the unit, you lose all your time and temperature settings. Basically, if you unplug you have to reprogram everything from scratch! How annoying. So Electronics and Design folks: please talk to each other and make it clear. Also how come the display does not show the current temperature and doesn't light up so that it can be seen in the dark or at least when the settings are being changed?Other than these major issues, the product works well and saves energy compared to the Lasko ceramic heaters. | 8% Arrived Damaged October 24, 2017 It appears to work well but arrived in a box that had clearly been opened and arrived with dents. Disappointed. I’m not returning it because it works and the hassle isn’t worth it. I’d have been very pleased to have purchased it at a “scratch and dent” price, but not full price. It's okay March 7, 2017 I had a Kenwood like this and thought this would be the same but it doesn't heat up quite as well. Controls are little more complicated than the Kenwood but okay for occasional use. Why wont it stay turned on? February 5, 2017 I would give this heater a 5star rating except it keeps turning off. The instructions do nto say why or how to keep it "on" at a low temp until I turn it off. So, I have it in my studio, put it there a day before I was going to work, and when I came the next day the place was stone cold, and heater off. I have used the 24 hour timer, but what a drag, to have to reset that every day?? Does anyone have a fix or explanation of this situation? It works great. Main problem is that if the power flickers ... December 31, 2016 It works great. Main problem is that if the power flickers or goes off even for a moment, the unit turns off and does not come back on like the manual one I purchased on Amazon. I would switch this one out for the non-digital if I had the choice. If you are not home this could be a problem. Avoid this one December 28, 2016 A few opportunities...Buttons are so hard to push the unit will roll when I pressCan't see buttons in the darkLoud beep for every button press can't be turned offEnergy saver mode allows wild temperature swings rendering mode unusable.Highest energy setting makes burnt smell radiating from heater. Good unit but it is used December 12, 2016 I received a used unit. The box was damaged during shipment and when opened I see that it wasn't in a plastic bag or a cord bag like the one I purchased last year from another retailer. It works but there is a scratch on the front of it and I'm not happy about paying full price for a used item. Also, the unit last year had a burning door for the first month of use. It was the chemicals outgassing. This unit has no odor which is also evidence that then unit was used before. Please help amazon. I called DeLonghi and they agreed it was used and recommended returning it for a new one. | 4% it comes out of the wall socket very easily. October 30, 2017 This seems to be working, but, it comes out of the wall socket very easily. Three Stars March 9, 2017 thought it ad two prongs in back but have three can not really use in my house. |
Two Star Reviews: | 7% I sent it back. April 17, 2017 I sent it back. It was complicated to use and didn't seem to put off very much heat. It took up a lot of space. And when you turned it off and back on, the default temp was something like 95F. Two Stars January 6, 2017 The heater is weak. Doesnt even heat up my small bedroom on the max setting. Really disappointed Not a fan... February 5, 2016 I wasn't too impressed with this heater for the price I expected a little more. I had it in a midsize kitchen but I could never really feel any heat from it even when I got close to it. I ended up paying $30.00 for a space heater and that worked much better. The wheels where also off balance causing the heater to wobble. I could also not get the timer to work for me I would set it to turn on in the morning but when I would check it it would be off. I think I will stay away from the radiator style heaters in the future. Not an efficient way to add supplemental heating. June 2, 2015 I bought this unit based on the great reviews and was excited to add some supplemental heat to my living room during the winter months. The unit looks good, isn't super hot to the touch, comes with a simple remote, and an ok to use lcd control panel on the device. I am not sure if I recieved a defective product or it isn't as great as other reviews have expressed it to be as this heater did not perform at all. If I set the thermostat on the heater to certain temperature the unit would not be able to get the room to that temperature even after hours of run time, honestly provided little to no difference in temperature. The only way I got it close to making the room a bit warmer was by increasing the thermostat to 90+ and after two hours there was a 1 degree increase in temperature. Good for small rooms. Bad for Med to Big rooms. January 15, 2015 I live in a small condo, 900 sq ft.Pros: Small, easy to use and no noiseCons: Does not really warm up the room, or takes a long time to do so.I think it would be good for another purpose, but not for heating up large rooms. There are smaller heater fans that do a better and faster job, but you have to put up with a little noise.I probably wouldn't recommend this to a friend, but maybe to someone I don't like. Not working as expected. January 6, 2015 I don't know whether I received a faulty unit or maybe the area I'm trying to heat is perhaps too big for the unit, but this doesn't seem to be working for me. I originally bought it for my unheated basement. When the temperature dropped the other day, I wanted to test it out upstairs. The upstairs is heated, but it's an old house so it gets pretty drafty. I set it up in my living room and so far I'm not impressed. My living room isn't a large room, but I haven't noticed any change in temperature since turning it on - and I have it set as high as it will go. I thought maybe it would take a while, but after several hours I'm still cold and I can't feel the heat unless I'm literally standing right beside it.It also claims to have a "low surface temperature". This was the main reason I chose this type of heater. I must have a very different opinion of what constitutes as a "low surface temperature". It's extremely hot to the touch after being on for any decent length of time. As it is now, this won't work for what I had planned. If it won't heat my small living room, it's not going to heat the larger one in the basement. I guess I'll try it in the bedroom (which is around 10x10) and see if it will at least heat that up. I'm just really kind of bummed. I did a decent amount of research to narrow down what type of heater I wanted and what size/brand i should get, and this just fell short on everything. I'm glad I decided to just buy one rather than going ahead and getting two. | 7% Two Stars November 7, 2017 This product takes ages to heat a room. Directions state to keep it unplugged when I’m not home. started Oil Leaking after a month usage March 20, 2017 Its been only a month after using it, it started leaking oil. Frankly I am disappointed with the performance January 9, 2017 Frankly I am disappointed with the performance. Maybe I was expecting too much from a radiant heater but it takes along time to heat a 200 square foot room with this heater. Leaking oil after 1+ year of use January 7, 2017 It makes good heat but this was purchased in October 2015 and now only a little over a year later and it's leaking oil out of the bottom. For such an expensive heater it shouldn't be leaking after so little time. Does not last long December 18, 2016 This worked great when I bought. There was always a little smell to it and yes i did everythign I was supposed to do. Over the last three months is has slowly stopped producing heat and know it is only warm if you put our hands over it. It use to warm the whole basement. Now it doesn't warm the bathroom. Very loud ticking December 5, 2016 Ever put bad gas in your car and when you turn it off there is somewhat loud ticking?I have a Honeywell oil space heater. It does not make any noise. This unit is so loud that we haven't been sleeping well the past 2 nights. The unit is in my bathroom. With the door closed it's still too loud.Giving it one more night. Hoping there is a break in period. But, there is no luxery in a loud ticking - metal thumping - pinging as much as 20 times in a minute. The unit is sleek and maybe the nicest looking and most expensive. I don't like returning products and I'm not sure why other reviews don't mention this as a major deal breaker? | 4% Hopefull they work August 5, 2017 Looking forward to using this. These do appear to be second hand products, possibly yard sale. Had $3 price tags on them. is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED January 8, 2017 Small appliances (microwave, space heater) continue to short out the old fuse box despite this device's claims of preventing that. I'd return it but already tossed the packing material. The green on light, which didn't go to red when a heater blew a house fuse, is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED. Fine if you also want a very bright nite-light. December 27, 2016 I bought this to provide some peace of mind because we have an infrared radiant heater in my daughter's room and I wanted some insurance against the cord/outlet overheating. It seems to work just fine. The 2-star review is because the whole thing glows green. I like bedrooms to be dark (Hey! No ugly wife jokes!) This thing illuminates the entire room with a bright green glow that you can't turn off. I have the same issue with any product that has lights or bright displays that remain on. It seems like a very poor design to me. |
One Star Reviews: | 9% Do not buy this heater!!!! March 18, 2017 I have had mine for 2 months. I went to the garbage can and came back in just a little while ago and I had a puddle of oil all over my living room floor. Very upset. I'm surprised they haven't had a lawsuit and had to replace someone's flooring. Maybe I'll be the first exclamation point Just like 45 March 18, 2017 Piece of garbage. Worked for a month and a half then ... no heat.DeLonghi, your product sucks. You suck. Imagine selling this piece of shit to the public. Bunch of con artists. It's as if you are the DJT of radiator heaters. Started to leak oil after 1.5 years March 4, 2017 Pros:Has a thermostat to keep room temperature constantQuite while operatingCons:Every time you unplug it and plug it in again, temperature sets itself to the highest setting requiring you press temperature adjustment button quite a few timesMakes a pretty loud click when it tuns off and on while operatingMine started leaking oil after a year and a half which suggests that the construction of the unit is not tha great We also hate that we cant see the target temperature in the ... February 28, 2016 After few months of use it makes extremely loud noise as the oil heats up. If you have it in room with a baby avoid at all cost. We also hate that we cant see the target temperature in the dark. Also, the thermostat is quite inaccurate. The colder the weather gets the worst. I will have to set it on 87 to keep the temperature in the room at 77. Came in defective - LEAKING OIL! November 3, 2015 Oil leaks from below. Came in defective and useless. I have to clean my floor after discovering a pool of oil below the heater. What a mess it caused me. If I didn't find out earlier, it would have damaged my wood floor even worse. Thermostat doesn't work at all. June 1, 2015 The heater heats up fairly well but I bought to because of the thermostat and that simply doesn't work.I set the thermostat to 70 and have found that sometimes it will be on full heat and heat the room up to 80 and sometimes it will be freezing and the heater is off. What the heater does seems to have no relationship to the temperature of the room. That said its possibly ours is a defective one and if you don't care about a thermostat then it works pretty well. | 12% Not recommended to order online October 29, 2017 Package came damaged. I did not think much of it until I plugged my unit in to test it out. Oil from insides had leaked all over my floor and had an extremely bad smell...I am disappointed in this packaging and faulty unit. Not good enough for larger spaces. January 30, 2017 I thought this was the" top of the line" model and could handle a larger room. Really not too efficient in a space that's approximately 400+ sq. ft.Takes a long time to heat up a room when temp outside is in the 40's. I only run at the highest settings, so I've already noticed a "spike" in my electric bill. Also, oil smell took about a week to go away. Conclusion: for my space I'd need at least 2 of these running at highest settings, so my monthly electric bill would probably be about $500! I was not happy with it January 13, 2017 I was not happy with it. It makes loud noise few minutes after it starts and stops. It also smells bad . I have three other oil filled radiant heaters but never had such a problem. Disappointed in this heater January 12, 2017 Although many customers give this 4 or 5 stars, I can only give this heater 1 star and that is because this unit is very stable and did not collapse when my dog hit it while chasing the cat. For some reason, my unit did not even heat up a small bathroom when the controls were set to maximum heat and maximum fan. Even after a week of use, it gave off a burning oil smell and emitted a high pitch buzzing noise. I contacted the DeLonghi customer support center where they were very friendly and helpful suggesting that I contact Amazon. I did and thank you Amazon for the quick return of my funds.I still need a heater, but am not considering another DeLonghi product. | 8% Plug burned me still July 15, 2017 They don't work. I had purchased a few of these for small space heaters. After letting the heater run for about 10 minutes I decided to move it across the room. The plug on these get so hot one actually left burn marks on me when I was testing them. Doesn't work so good...don't waste your money... April 5, 2017 Bought it to use in our motor home with infrared heater. The thing melted/burned up, 3 months later. We have a serge protector on the whole rig...scary... customer service simply said, oh well, it's past Amazon's 30 day return policy... One Star March 13, 2017 Unfortunately, the plug ended up tripping the heater and turning it off that we had to discontinue using it. When I received the product it was intact but I ... January 5, 2017 When I received the product it was intact but I could hear to me was broken parts inside of the product. I have used this product and it has done it's job But, it gets hot. I do not overload the circuit that I am using. |
