I love this heater!
February 22, 2017
I LOVE this little heater. It works great and doesn't show any signs of stopping. It's an attractive design that has most of my guests saying "what is that?" If they even notice it at all, as its pretty quiet. There's a setting for low (but the only temperature option for low is "max") and the setting for high has "max" but also varying temperature options up to 85. There's timer options for four hours, two hours and one hour and the option to oscillate. This thing pumps out some serious heat! But I also believe it to be safe, as long as you're using it properly. I haven't noticed any signs of melting or warping anywhere on it and I've used it on high max for a while, as my house was built in the early 1900s and gets quite drafty. It was warns up my large living room with high ceilings (10 ft)I thought it was a bit pricey for the size when I got it but now after having it a while, I think it's worth it.When I saw the other reviewers complain about a lack of remote, I thought that was silly. But now I occasionally wish it did come with a remote just to turn it off when I'm too lazy to get up hahaAll in all, I would recommend it. I've had several space heaters over the years in various homes/apartments and I have to say this one is the absolute best I've had for the price. And it's better looking than any other space heater I've had.
MONEY SAVING - Decorative and nice and cozy!!

I love these heaters!! Last winter I didn't even have to turn the heater on once because of this awesome heater!! I bought one for the living room, my office and our bedroom, and they work great!! Then in the Spring and summer, just put them in them boxes and put them away for the following year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Best heater EVER!

I love this little heater so much! I bought it for the room that I keep my panther chameleon in, to keep him warm, not only in the winter but also from our cold house. I love that it is temperature controlled so it turns off once the room hits the temperature it's set to. The style is soO lovely, company hardly notices it's a heater, & the housing itself doesn't get hot at all! A must have!
Power packed heater that KEEPS ME WARM
December 9, 2013
Let me just say, WOW! This little thing doesn't look like it would give off much heat, but it really does. I had just purchased a heater from Dollar General, Comfort Zone CZ550 when this Lasko heater arrived a day early and I had a chance to compare them side by side. Although they both have a high setting of 1500 watts, the Lasko on the lowest setting put out twice as much heat as the Comfort Zone heater on the highest setting.I really wondered how well it would work and the minute I plugged it in I was amazed. I can't give information on the size of room it would heat and keep that way because I was using it in a very large area-kitchen with attached family room, 408 square feet, plus I had it placed near an open doorway to the dining room and living room area which are another 650 square feet. But it totally kept all of us warm-everyone sitting within 10 feet of the heater. This heater does a much better job than both a Delonghi radiator type heater and a Sunbeam radiant quartz heater. This one puts out way more heat than the radiator type heater and just as much as the radiant quartz heater did. But, with no orange glow, it's one you can stand at night that won't keep you awake. It is also cool to the touch everywhere except on the metal grate cover which is warm to the touch, but not warm enough to burn your skin. It is also very stable, not likely to be accidentally knocked over. I don't think it would be much of a fire hazard even if it did tip over. Unlike the Sunbeam heater we had that was VERY hot and I was always afraid anything that touched it would start on fire (although it did have a turn off feature). As to features, it has an oscillating feature to heat more evenly. It has a low and high setting. On low there is no thermostat setting, just maximum (so you either have it on or you don't). On high there is a thermostat with settings from 60 to 85 degrees, plus maximum, I suppose meaning that it will just stay on constant rather than staying on when it hits the selected temperature. It also has a timer that can be set for 1, 2, or 4 hours. Everything is push button on the top of the unit, so very accessible. I like the stand not only because it looks nice, but whichever way you need the cord to go, you can thread it through the bottom "s" loop on that side to keep it routed where you want it.All in all, I LOVE this heater. I think I will be buying another one soon. I will update when I have had it longer to see how well it holds up. Unlike many reviewers who say they will update and 3 years later there is nothing, I actually update my reviews from time to time.
Great for our new baby!
October 14, 2013
I bought this to help keep our baby warm at night. It matches his nursery perfectly and works great. We have used it nearly every night for the past several weeks without issue. The timer is a great feature, it shuts off when the desired temperature is reached, and is unexpectedly quiet.November UPDATE: I have been using this heater every night now for nearly a month. I love it more every day. The cost was barely noticeable on my electric bill, which was a very pleasant surprise. I leave it on 70 degrees for about five to seven hours each night.
Saved me a bundle!
July 29, 2013
I waited until after I had used this an entire winter before writing a review. I admit that my house is kept pretty cool because of the expense of the propane we use to heat it, which over the previous three years averaged just over $3100/yr. I used this heater in the living/dining/kitchen area (about 500 sq.ft.) during the day while I was up and about and left the thermostat for the entire house at 55 degrees 24/7. At the end of the year my heating bill was down $1600 and the electric was up $140. And this past winter was colder than usual! I've already talked my sister and my niece into buying one of these.
Great unit for the price. Base assembly is really easy to put together.
December 16, 2016
It came packed really well. It is a lot larger in person than it appears online. Quality is very good. Base assembly is really easy to put together using a small Phillips head screw driver or drill with a similar bit. The remote does not come with two required AAA batteries. You'll have to provide them. There's an attachment slot on the back of the unit to hang the remote when not in use and keeps it easy to find. Simple operation with hi/lo settings, and three rotation modes..direct, 180, and 360 degrees. The unit is relatively quiet for it's size and present no issues hearing the television or radio. It heated up a 14' x 20' den with an 8' ceiling in about 30 mintues, produces a nice flow of warm air, and maintained that temperature with the thermostatic control really well. It also is $14 cheaper than the same unit at Walmart. Simple cleaning of the filter weekly should keep this great unit running for years. I may buy another one for our living room.
Perfect For Multiple Cribs in a Room
October 1, 2016
We bought this for the babies room. We have a toddler and new-born. This is the perfect height for both cribs and is able to warm both sides of the room. We worried because the vent is so small, but it only takes a few minutes to warm their room. We bought this for the babies room. We have a toddler and new-born. Great Little Heater
August 27, 2016
I bought this for my son's room. For some reason his room stays just a little cooler all year round; he is in a partially sunken basement; the whole basement stays warmer than his room. It heats up his room very quickly. His room is not small, but it's also not he biggest, about 11'x10'. Thermostat works great (I've had some portable heaters where the thermostat doesn't work that great and heats up too much or doesn't turn on when it gets too cold). It's a great size. The top can rotate a quarter of the way, half way or a full 360. There's also a high, medium and low feature (power wise). The base is a pretty good size in relation to the unit itself, but we put it on a piece of wood because it sits on carpet and it gives it just a little more stability. It says it has a feature that will turn off the unit if it tips, but why chance it?!
December 9, 2014
Coolest heater I've ever been in the presence of. I truly don't know why people complain about the automatic setting being limited to the "high" mode. What babies! The only reason you would complain about that situation is if the high mode was loud. This heater is not loud on high, I think it is very soothing, I'm listening to it right now. Having automatic function in low mode would be dysfunctional because the heater is aimed to heat to the desired temperature as fast as possible - clearly, it needs to be on full blast.ANYways, this is like having a jet engine in the house (not in sound but looks), it is highly functional, performs quietly enough and heats up our 2 bedroom apt really well. I think the design makes a positive effect on the room it's in. And though you have control over its rotation amount, I usually have it in the center of our space on the 360 degree spin. The thing rocks, a superior alternative to one who lacks fireplace/wood burning stove function, or just doesn't want to deal with baseboard heater payments in the winter.
Does exactly what I needed
September 20, 2013
This thermostatically controlled heater with filter and remote control does a great job on medium sized rooms. Air is pulled from the bottom and forced up through a filter and routed up and out of the heater at the top.- We all know colder air is denser and warmer air is lighter, thus this design works well.1). Light assembly needed for the base using a standard sized Phillips head screw driver. I had mine together in about 10 minutes. 4 screws are machine threaded and go in with no effort, the other 4 are a bit more difficult as they go direct into plastic, but with a good screw driver or power driver your all ready in short order.2). The touch controls are not the best in class but using the remote you don't need to even touch the base unit anyway.- You can turn the unit on/off and set a temp and oscillation all from the remote. The touch controls do work fine but, as you press them the unit wobbles a bit. No worries though.3). Unit has a high and low heat setting and can be set to maintain a certain temperature you like depending on the room size.- Heating and room sizes are all subjective and depend on the climate you live in. If you have a few cold spots in you home this will most def help, if your trying to heat a house using only this, not going to work too well4). Oscillation for the fan can be set to cover all the way to 360 degrees, or just in front of the unit, this is a nice feature.5). Heater is rated at 1500 watts of heating power, good for additional heat; no problem keeping my 12 x 14 at 72.- all things considered; If you need a area heater that has temperature and oscillation control and can SUPPLEMENT you home heating system, this is a very good choice.Compared to all "Area Heaters" this has all the features.
Lot of heat for a 1500W unit
November 19, 2012
I bought this heater based on the features and a good CR review as there were a limited # of reviews on Amazon. One thing I liked about this heater is it puts out heat at approx. 24" off of the floor. I use it in my home office and my two previous Holmes ceramic heaters were very low and would direct the heat into my computer air intake which wasn't very good for me or my computer. Although I really didn't think I needed a remote to change the heat settings, I find it very useful to control the oscillation or temp setting. You can change all settings manually on the front panel if you loose your remote. It seems to throw out much more heat than any of my previous 1500W heaters and easily heats my 16 x 16 ft room in short order. The LED display is well lit and the construction is fairly impressive and sturdy. The fan seems to have much more CFM than your average space heater, but without any real dicernable noise especially when on the phone etc. About the only thing I can complain about is that in the Automatic temperature control mode the unit will only run in the high 1500W mode. If you use the Auto thermostatically controlled feature and it's relatively close to you, it will get a little too warm which is easily resolved by turning the temperature down or putting it in the manual mode on low. I think for this heater to keep you warm, it doesn't really need to be within 5ft as you can place it anywhere in most rooms in the auto mode to keep the whole room temperature constant. For the cost, I don't see how anyone could complain about this heater, but I'm sure someone will! I just ordered a second one for my family room which is much larger, but I feel it will handle it with ease. I would have ordered two as I am giving one to my Mother for Christmas, but they restocked and sold out all but one in 24 hours! I'm sure that a lot more people will say good things about this heater. BTW I checked the kW per hour usage with a meter, on the high setting and it uses around 1.36 kWh or around 15 cents/hr at average electric rates, but it is very unlikely that you would need to run this heater constantly on high unless you were heating a very large room. I would assume that it would be about half that on the low setting (750W).

Everyone should have one for electric heaters!
February 16, 2017
As an ex-firefighter, I can attest to how often electric space heaters cause house fires. That very experience occurred to me last week when in the middle of the night I jumped out of bed in full on alarm mode. I smelled burning plastic.Turns out, the girlfriend had tossed her shirt across the room and it landed on top of our electric fan heater. Later in the night, when the heater cycled on it restricted the air flow from the heater which caused the heater to overheat. (not to mention the smell of ironed clothes) When I woke up with alarm bells in my head, the first thing I checked was the heater and when I saw the shirt I thought "ok, thats all it is".. but clothes don't normally smell like burning plastic, so I kept looking around and sure enough, the wall outlet the heater was plugged into was in full on meltdown. This was a bit sobering - we're used to putting out fires started by electric heaters and you never expect it to happen to yourself.I ordered three of these units that same day. After repairing the outlet, I just plugged this in over it. It looks great - the green light is kind of reassuring but for the bedroom, I wish it was dimmer.Regardless I'm happy to know if I'm not home and my girlfriend decides to play peek-a-boo with the heater again, this unit will kill the power before it melts down the house. Also, she now has a fire extinguisher on her side of the bed.
Well made and functional

Seems well made and does not overheat too much
It is plugged in and is working.

Using it right now. Nice! Thanks!
They easily heated all three levels
February 15, 2017
Our heat pump died recently so I purchased two of these to heat my 3 bedroom townhouse. I was a little worried that they were too small to get the job done. Turns out I was wrong. I set the digital thermostadt to 68 and the blower speed to low and viola. They easily heated all three levels. Each unit is rated at 15 amps so I was a bit worried about tripping breakers but so far so good. Luckily the Maryland winter has been pretty mild this year but we've had a couple of cold snaps. These units did the job nicely.
Work like a charm.
January 11, 2017
Purchased two of these for family in GA. They have been using them regularly and have constantly bragged about how wonderful they are. It seems they do their job extremely well and they are very happy and warm.

This is a great space heater for my office
April 10, 2017
This is a great space heater for my office. It is stylish, heats quickly, and doesn't take up much space. The only negative is that the temperature shutoff feature only works on high. That makes the low setting unusable for me. The whole purpose of running a space heater is to maintain an even temperature in a room, so the temperature shut-off is the only way to go. Why they don't make that an option for both low and high settings? I don't know.
nice little heater
April 3, 2017
We have a split level home, and the lower level gets quite chilly since it's essentially a basement. I decided to purchase this to help heat up the room. It does a pretty nice job; I really like the oscillating feature. It heats up a room quite nicely as long as there is no furniture or anything blocking the flow of the warm air. However, I have noticed that after a few months of use it doesn't seem to blow as much heat as it did at first, even on the MAX temperature. It still feels warm up close, but it doesn't seem to efficiently heat the room like it did before.. But, it looks nice and works fine. I purchased a second one for the upstairs as well for next winter.
Very good heater
March 5, 2017
I like how this is decor-friendly. No more putting up the ugly space heater when guests come over. This heater functions well, the only thing I would change is it having an accompanying remote control. I realized that Lasko does offer a similar heater with a remote after I purchased this one. Overall, I'm happy. I also like that it has a sturdy stand so you don't have to worry about it falling over. It heats a large enough area, our master bedroom. Occasionaly I bring it out to the living area. I would definitely order again for other rooms in the house, perfect for winter nights.
Absolutely love this heater.
March 1, 2017
Just received and amazed at this heater. It has temperature settings 65 to 85 in increments of 5 degrees and Hi/Lo option. Very unique design and I love the fact that it doesn't look like a heater and I can set it anywhere without it being unsightly. I just came back to order a second one. It's bigger than I pictured. I just hope this lasts for a while. The last Lasko heater I had stopped working after only a few years of very little use.
February 18, 2017
Very nice, except for the LOUD beep whenever you press any control button on top of the unit. So much for quietly warming up the bathroom while my wife is sleeping. It sounds like a microwave oven announcing the end of the cooking time. It's LOUD. If you want to set it to Low - Oscillate - 70 degrees, that's four loud beeps. Other than that, it's very attractive, and pumps out a nice amount of heat. I wouldn't return it, because it's a good unit. But one of these days if I feel ambitious, I'm going to figure out how to disable that obnoxious BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.

January 14, 2015
The heater is great, though there are a few issues with the controls that work, but seem a bit odd. First though the heater is very efficient, when it first arrived, I almost sent it back assuming that, with it's compact size, it would never be able to heat my under-insulated apartment. Once I turned it on, I was amazed that it heated so well, and did it with so little fuss.My only complaint, deals with the controls. When I set the temperature originally, I set it for a 70 degree threshold, the heater started and correctly shut down when the room air temp. had reached 70 degrees. The next time I started it, it had assumed that I either wanted it on high, or on 75 degrees. I found that I have to cycle through all of the available temperature settings to return to the 70 degree setting I wanted last time. This is only a minor inconvenience, so I dropped it down one star, but I must say that after living in the same drafty apartment for 15 years I finally have a heater that can quickly raise the temperature in the bedroom within 10 to 15 minutes in the morning. I haven't gotten an electric bill yet, but my guess is that it will be much lower than what I used to pay for the ceiling mounted electric radiant heat that is the heating system in the apartment.
Nice device but where's the timer?
May 11, 2017
Got this yesterday to use in my freezing basement. My basement is not that huge, I would say 20x20 ft approx. and the heater was able to bring it up from 65 F to around 70 F pretty quickly. It's very easy to operate and seems like a very safe device and there's a nice remote that controls all the functionality except for switching from F to C and back (which many people will never ever use anyway). I still haven't explored all the features but the basic feature of setting a desired room temperature and the oscillation "level" (0, 90, 180, 360 if i remember correctly) is very straightforward. The device is a little noisy but if you keep away from it about 10 ft. the noise level is manageable. It doesn't have, as far as I could see, a timer to automatically shut off the device, this could be a very useful feature to have that would make this a 5 star device. It does have an automatic temperature feature that shuts off when the room gets to a certain temperature and then starts back when the temp goes low which is convenient but not the same as a timer shut off.
Decent heater for smaller spaces at a lower price point
March 1, 2017
Works well to heat up smaller spaces (~80 sq ft) but will take quite a bit of time to adequately heat up any space larger. If you're room is drafty don't expect this unit to keep it heated as you might like. The noise from the fan (can't be shut off) can be distracting in a quiet room but it is steady enough to fill in as white noise. The remote function is handy.
Best bang for a space heater
December 23, 2016
This space heater works very well for a living space of 12'x10'. My central heat would constantly kick on every 15 mins, after getting this heater and running it for about 5 mins it keeps my central heater from kicking on for at least 45 mins. This heater will definitely save me money in the long run. Lasko is a well known name and this heater is built solidly, and for the size it does its job and more. The 90, 180 and 360 degree oscillation works very well, the auto setting seems to run even when it reaches temp set (kinda of odd). The only down side is it has just 2 heat temp settings. The remote is a plus.
December 15, 2016
Item appears to be in good condition. So far it works well. Just a little noisier than my old one. Still, I love the 360 function and it heats up the living room well. The only thing that is missing is a timer. My old lasko heater had a timer and I kind of miss that function.
December 7, 2015
Works well, until it starts to get too cold for it to keep up. Given, I live in So. CA, so insulation is terrible in my place. But, I'm also in So. CA, and it only gets down into the low 50s at my place. So, I can't speak for how well this is going to work where it actually gets cold.It will definitely heat of the area directly around it, no matter where you are, just don't expect it to actually heat up a midsize room very efficiently.Hum is slightly louder that I would have expected, but not enough to interrupt watching TV. The only other thing that I was surprised it does not have is a timer. I know I should have noticed that in the description, but just assumed that if all of the other less expensive models have it, then this one would too. Just something to keep in mind.

December 30, 2014
I like this. I own a small home that runs on propane for heat. We recently had energy audit done and biggest issue is our old boiler. I choose to use this to provide heat to our living room while main heat is very low. We need a new boiler but for now this seems to help heating only our actual living space. The ability to rotate while on is nice too. I use the 90 degree setting and it heats very quickly. I do not think this is meant for large spaces. Another issue I find is often the thermostat reading does not match reading in room. So its hard to get it to turn off and on within your comfort zone. I simply use the remote. Its not perfect but I like this better than an IR heater that we had because I found that one worked best along with main heat on. The key with these is not to just let them run. I would imagine your electric bill would go up considerably if you did. Again, this depends on what your rate is in your area. All said and done I do recommend this heater.
We will see.
October 29, 2017
Seems fine, but has never really been really tested. We will see what happens when it turns really cold.
September 30, 2017
Works well an the indicator works as a little light too
How to verify it actually works?
May 16, 2017
This is a tricky one. I mean, it works, there's a green light to indicate that the temperature is ok so I'm guessing this means the device is "doing what's is supposed to" but who knows if it really does what it says it does? there isn't even a sort of a test button like in smoke detectors that will tell you the circuits are working (sorry for the non technical terms here, I'm not an electrician...). So, assuming the device works as advertised, I would say this is a good product. The build quality looks good and the price is ok (this is a 2 pack). I use it with a room heater in the basement so was ok to spend a little more and know that I'm reducing the chance of fire or electrical issues in the basement where sometimes the heater is left unattended, and I hope I will never have to see this device at work.
March 14, 2017
Seems to work okay but the light inside is larger and more diffuse than I had expected. Makes it look cheaply made.
Very nice, but I got a used
February 3, 2017
got this with electric stove heater because of fire risks with all space heaters. Very nice, but I got a used, (not really, but someone bought it and never took it out of plastic package, which is hard to cut into. the price was half of the brand new one. I paid about $12, but full price would have been a lot for this switch. My husband said we really didn't need this safety plug, but better safe than sorry. We can use it with some other electric heater and electronics where the plugs can get hot as well.
Great other than the light
January 14, 2017
I read the prior reviews about the bright indicator light and purchased it thinking I could put a piece of electrical tape over it and have no issues. The plastic case is thin and the internal light is so bright that even with electrical tape over the front the whole thing glows green like a night light which is pretty annoying when you're trying to keep your room dark. Outside of that it works as advertised.

Great little heater
February 2, 2017
Great little heater. Originally, the description said it was the 6 Element heater which is what I REALLY wanted. I'm disappointed with VM Innovations but the heater is nice for a small room.
Great for a large room.

Like controls settings, Puts out good heat , size is very easy to relocate from room to room. checked temp cycle times in a 15 x 18 room , turned on and off within 2-3 degrees. Eco mode a plus . Good unit for the price.

Seems to work fine for the basement space we have it in. I wish the temperature regulated a little better, but we have it in the wide open space of our basement, overall it works fine, no concerns.

Over priced but nice looking. Heats a space nicely. Buttons are too loud & heater should come with remote for the price. Should also have timer to turn on.
Imperfect heat range controls
October 4, 2016
The heater is attractive, quiet and works well enough in some circumstances. Shorter than I had expected. My issue in reducing stars is that the low setting, which is what I use to avoid tripping breakers when two heaters in adjacent rooms happen to come on at once, automatically defaults to "Max" on the heat setting - meaning it does not allow use of the push buttons on the thermostat. The thermostat, if you can use it on high, is in 5 degree increments, with a jump of 5 degrees from 65 to 70 and from 70-75 (it then goes up twice more to 85 - who would use that?). I like to set my other units at 67-68.Also, the oscillation has a much narrower turn area than my other Lasco heaters. I'll keep it, because Lasco has been a good brand for me and I have an office room where I can keep watch on the temp without the thermostat - but I would go back to their other taller and more settable models in the future. The one I like best is Lasko's model 6462.

Beautiful heater. Doesn't heat the bedroom as well as I hoped. If I am not close to it I don't feel the warmth. It's good for knocking the chill out of the air but not warmth. Guess I need more kilowatts. Very, pretty not your typical heater which is why I didn't return it.
November 6, 2015
This deserves five stars for design and it does a good job heating. My only complaints is that it is a bit to noisy, and it is rated a little to high at 900 watts for the low setting.
Heat and looks are great and speak for themselves
November 3, 2015
Heat: 5 stars. Looks: 5 stars. Temp settings: 2 stars.Heat and looks are great and speak for themselves. BUT Lasko heaters (this is my third one) don't turn on until they're COLD past the desired indicated temp setting, and keep heating until they're HOLY MOLY IT'S HOT past the same setting. This heater has settings for 70 degrees and 75 degrees. Max comfort is somewhere between there. Why have settings for only 65 (turns on at 63), 70, and 75 (heats to almost 80)? Why not 68, 70, 72, and 75? Why not regulate to 1 degree? Love this heater. Wish it had tighter tolerances.
It heats rooms.

This is a great heater if you're looking to not only warm your room, but also your guests' hearts with more fashionable heating decor. Mine doesn't oscillate, nor can I use anything but the "max" temperature when it's on a low fan setting. That being said, if I keep it on a high fan setting, I can keep my room at a steady temperature (e.g. 70 degrees). This has been beneficial to my life. I'll probably buy another because I need to have more heat in my kitchen, and who would I be if I didn't have matching heaters?
"Aloha - from hawaii".... it was a pretty weak heater.
March 4, 2017
So, yes we live in "hawaii" & we got a "heater" because we live 3,000 feet above sea level.... on top of a mountain here in Hawai'i..... and, it gets so cold up here me & my family have been getting sick a lot from frezzing...temiture it ranges from 40'f - 50's on the average at night fall 3,000 ft up in hawaii..... ( this heater is: not very powerful to us at all..... but it work "ok"..... & it is super safe.... and, it is a nicer looking heater that filers our air as well to!.... for a lot less money then other ones that are like this one like the Dyson one!.... for, $500?..... this one was 10.10 % of that cost!.... )
It works, but meh
December 18, 2016
It works, but here are my gripes:The weight it so light that to push the ON button you have to hold it with your other hand so it doesn't get knocked over. Seriously, how did this pass UAT? You need two hands to OPERATE this darn thing.Other than that, operates as shown. I wish the display was a little less tacky, reminds me of the 1990's alarm clocks.
Produced less heat after a week.
January 4, 2016
Good, but not great. It worked amazingly for the first couple days, but after a week, it started to produce less heat. The temperature on the unit was never accurate and never got past 75 degrees in our room after the first couple days. We live in a beach city in California, so we're not suffering from incredibly cold weather and I'm disappointed that this unit couldn't heat up a smaller "master" bedroom. I'm sending this back and looking for another heating unit.

January 20, 2015
Works really well. I've been using it all winter. The device seems to detect properly but its logic is slightly flawed. First of all as other reviewers have pointed out it pretends it produces heat in 360 degrees but in reality only sends heat out of the 90 degree portion pointed forward. You can tell from the design it is meant to either fool the user or the design just didn't match the internals. As for the logic - I set the device to 71 degrees and I see it kick on appropriately but for whatever reason it continues to heat longer than it should resulting in the room being too hot randomly. I suspect this is related to power savings overall instead of kicking on and heating internal coils 2-5x more often.
Works, but stinks
December 23, 2014
This unit ha performed solidly for a year now, warming a 16x16' room with a cathedral ceiling quite adequately. HOWEVER, from day one it has produced a nasty burning plastic smell. At first, it was so bad as to make it unusable, so we had to put it in our garage and run it there while the stink was reducing. However, even a year later, when I come into the room where it is running from other parts of the house, the burned plastic stink is still very noticeable. I am concerned about the implications for our health.
Works fine but didn't arrive all together
December 31, 2013
The heater works great. I have used it to heat up a whole downstairs basement to individual rooms. There is no odor or anything which other heaters can have a problem with. However there were a few problems:It was obviously a repackaged model. The box looked torn stuff, items weren't even placed back in bags, also items missing. Such as, no remote. The box states there should be a remote there was none. Also didn't contain all the screws.I planned to return it however I was curious to see if it even worked. It worked great (once I went to ACE and bought screws so it could stand) and I just decided to keep it over the whole process of returning.Overall it works fine, but they should make sure all the items are replaced before sending it to another customer.
it comes out of the wall socket very easily.

This seems to be working, but, it comes out of the wall socket very easily.
March 9, 2017
thought it ad two prongs in back but have three can not really use in my house.
January 14, 2017
It makes me feel safe, however, it really sticks out of the wall

You get what you pay for
February 21, 2017
good heater, heats up a room nicely and efficiently. The thermostat works pretty good for 60 and 65 degrees, but for anything over those settings, this heater does not stop heating the room. at 70 degrees, even when the room (farthest away from the heater and on the same level as the heater) is clearly over 75 degrees, the heater will still stay on, heating the room to death (100+ degrees) and does not stop. For my purposes, the 65 degree setting suits me, as it keeps the room at a nice 72-75 despite being set to 65. I guess you get what you pay for, in this circumstance.
It seemed promising, but I returned it
May 16, 2016
The overall design looks nice, and the oscillation can be turned on or off. Atop my desk, it well heated my bedroom of roughly 10 x 11 feet. But even after several uses for several hours each, it still filled the room with an odor, like motor oil, that initially was strong and that I figure is, and which felt, somewhat toxic. And although the lights on the operation buttons atop the heater are a mild nuisance, an especial nuisance for me was the red light, which remains on even when the heater is turned off, just above the Lasko logo and behind the grate. Since it is some distance behind the grate, where heat flows out, I thought it inadvisable to try to conceal that red light with tape, especially since blocking that light would take a piece of tape far larger than that light.

Started a fire in our kitchen plug.

Unfortunately this product has a defective flaw, and I wonder if Lasko even knows about it themselves; though it is difficult to imagine they would not. I tend to believe it is a flaw common to all 6405's shipped, not just mine. when I discovered it the first time I sent it back and asked for an exchange-they sent me a new unit and after a week, which is the same amount of time the first one worked properly the second one failed. I do not believe in a coincidence in this case. if anyone disputes this I would imagine they/we are not talking "apples to apples"...Here is the flaw: while the unit does not come equipped with a timer, it is supposed to allow you to set a desired temperature then heat the room until that temperature is reached, with the small green LED button light flashing all the time. Once it reaches (in my case 75 degrees) the unit turns itself off then starts up again when the temperature in the room dips below that...(I have mine in a dressing room which only measures approximately 12' x 10' so the room is small)...As aforementioned both units worked the way they were supposed to for about a week, then I noticed that function stopped working so the unit stays on continuously until I'm there to turn it off, be it an hour or three hours, the unit stays on...the temperature in the room at this point is well over 80 degrees which is how "we" know that self-turning-off-function no longer functions...so there.UPDATE, ONE DAY LATER: just "to be clear" in MY case the flaw in the function is only at the 75 degree setting, which is the setting I wanted to keep the unit at during the nighttime hours-it works fine at the 70 degree setting, but of course the unit does not have to turn it self on very often to maintain that temperature...UPDATE (1/5/15) I can confirm that with my unit the function again fails now at the 70 degree setting, i.e. the flashing green light stays on continuously well after the temperature in the room approaches 80, and of course it was supposed to stop once (the room temp)reached 70...
The stand is not very sturdy, and product is top heavy
January 19, 2017
Given the chance to do-over I would not have purchased this product. The stand is not very sturdy, and product is top heavy, so much so that when you try the button to turn it on if you are not holding pressure against the back of it you can't even press the button to turn on without it falling over. Very annoying. I find the noise to be a little on the loud side for the amount of heat it produces. I do however like the 3 different Oscillating settings. My house is older and the electrical cannot support the high setting so I am only able to run this on the low setting, which still provides good comfort in close proximity.
I do not recommend this unit at all
November 14, 2016
This heater has a very unreliable control algorithm. Sometimes when set to automatic mode (control to a set temperature) it will function correctly for a couple of hours and then randomly get stuck full on. We woke up to find our room at 83F when the heater was set to regulate to 71F. The unit we have does this intermittently. When it does, the quick fix involves unplugging the unit from the wall for 10+ seconds.Overall, I would say that any heater failing in the full ON position when set to automatic should be unacceptable from a safety standpoint. I do not recommend this unit at all.
could be better
January 31, 2016
The heater in theory is exactly what we wanted but it doesn't stop heating the room up no matter what settings we use. We use it for our kid's room because it doesn't heat well with the heater and in the morning it is near 80 degrees when we get him out (often he wakes up at night and cries till we get him water because of it.Other than that it heats quite well. We are in a basement apartment with no insulation on the walls- in 1200 square feet and it can keep about half of that warm if we leave it running. It does cost a bit to run it constantly though.
May work better for closed rooms but
January 18, 2016
After doing what I thought was my due diligence I purchased this model to supplement my apartment heating unit as it feels cold everywhere except the kitchen (near where the sensor is evidently). My living room area is open to the kitchen (1 bedroom apt.) but is only 10' x 9'. I placed the heater in a couple of different areas and it tripped the breakers as it was pulling more amps than the panel was set up to handle. Using an extension cord to the bedroom I tried it again. Temp read 65 but couldn't get it above 67 after 6 hours! Tested it by lowering desired temp to 64 and it shut off so I knew it was working but, couldn't bring down to what I wanted. Also, no handle to pickup and move. May work better for closed rooms but, not for me!
Expensive heater for an apartment. Beep beep.
December 22, 2014
This is the only heater I use in my small one-bedroom apartment, although the apartment has central heating. It works well, and when placed in a central location and with the rotating head set to 90 degrees, it heats my living room and bedroom. In the first month that I used it (November in Sacramento), my power bill went up $8. My baseline was set by not running any central air/heat for a month (October) during the transition from summer to fall. Because it was only $8, I'm running it a little more during December. My only complaint is it thinks it's a cheap microwave: every time I push a button on the remote or on the unit it beeps.Edit: In the second month of having this, I used it a lot because of the cost during the first month, but it ended more than doubling my power bill. I no longer use it. I'm going to donate it or toss it.
Temperature control stopped working after a few months
November 17, 2014
This heater worked nicely for a while and kept my bedroom at a reasonable temp on chilly winter nights. It was nice being able to set the temperature and the fan rotation. I wish the thermostat worked at settings other than high, as when it switched on in high mode during the night it was loud enough to wake me up. However, the thermostat abruptly stopped working after five months. Now it just runs constantly on high, regardless of the setting, and it's no better than the little $5 space heater I got at the thrift store.
Hopefull they work

Looking forward to using this. These do appear to be second hand products, possibly yard sale. Had $3 price tags on them.
is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED
January 8, 2017
Small appliances (microwave, space heater) continue to short out the old fuse box despite this device's claims of preventing that. I'd return it but already tossed the packing material. The green on light, which didn't go to red when a heater blew a house fuse, is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Fine if you also want a very bright nite-light.
December 27, 2016
I bought this to provide some peace of mind because we have an infrared radiant heater in my daughter's room and I wanted some insurance against the cord/outlet overheating. It seems to work just fine. The 2-star review is because the whole thing glows green. I like bedrooms to be dark (Hey! No ugly wife jokes!) This thing illuminates the entire room with a bright green glow that you can't turn off. I have the same issue with any product that has lights or bright displays that remain on. It seems like a very poor design to me.

Quit after 2 months.
March 11, 2017
Initially, this seemed great. I have had it for 62 days, and it just quit working. It comes on, but only blows cool air and the oscillating, temperature, and duration buttons don't work at all. It's past the 30 day return policy and I have to contact the manufacturer and send it to them at *my* expense so they can determine *if* they will repair or replace. More expensive items should have longer return times.
Stopped working after 2 weeks
December 7, 2016
Stylish space heater with some problems. There is only one difference between high and low settings. On low I can only set the temperature to "max". If I try to change the temperature setting on low it automatically jumps to the high setting. No difference in the force of the air coming out between high and low.No tip-protection. I assume it will keep running if it falls over. It has a good base and is not top-heavy, but if knocked over it could be a problem. Did not want to test that theory. Not much oscillation. Only goes back and forth a little, maybe 60 degrees.Does a good job heating a good-sized master bedroom, but not as good as other Lasko space heaters I've purchased in the past. Next time I will spring for the not-so-fancy model. Not recommended!***UPDATE***Stopped working after 2 weeks. When turned on, both lights come on for high and low settings and heater does nothing. Sending it back for a refund. Really sucks that this happened when temp is in the 20's and we have a poorly insulated bedroom. Can't wait on a replacement...have to buy one at the store today...at Christmas time...when I get my shopping done early so I don't have to deal with the crowds...Joy to the World!

November 30, 2016
This was a great little heater until all the control buttons stopped working 1-1/2 months after it was purchased. The heater begins oscillating without warning, it is impossible to adjust the temperature or time, and it will no longer turn off via the power button. The only way to get it to turn off is to unplug it. At this point, I don't think it is safe to use.The product warranty is for 3 years. I called Lasko Customer Service to discuss the problems with the heater per the warranty instructions. They asked that I send them the cord (rather then the entire defective heater - to save shipping costs) along with a copy of the receipt and a written description of the problem. They said that they will send a replacement, which should arrive in about 3 weeks.

March 11, 2016
I always buy Lasko for space heaters and fans. They usually work better and last longer than any other brand on the market. This one didn't work at all. It would run for five minutes, then stop, and it would be hours before it would let you turn it on again.
March 3, 2016
Must give credit to the designer of this model and a BIG thumbs down to the engineer and quality control team. Smh.I was very much taken by the looks and after much debate I chose this model because it's just so darn nice looking lol. Unfortunately as soon as I plugged the thing in, it stopped working ... asked them to exchange and they quickly and generously told me I may keep it along with a refund. Awesome sauce.Anyways, I tried tinkering with it by leaving it alone and it worked! ... for 2 days! Then it caught on fire ....... see the photos =P
The heater unit itself melted!
May 1, 2017
While this heater worked, it was wonderful. One night, however, after only about 2 weeks of use, I awoke to a horrible burning plastic smell and I saw that the heater unit itself had melted. The top of the unit was melting in on itself, and the control panel wasn't functioning anymore. I quickly unplugged the unit and am too scared to even try it again, for fear that additional melting and malfunctioning will occur. Too much of a possible hazard in my book, especially if you ever plan to leave it unattended for any length of time.
A piece of junk
December 30, 2016
Worked well the first three or four times that I used it. Then the controls froze. The display showed a flashing 88 and the heater stopped working. No worthwhile advice on the website. I shall see how the warranty service works but I am not optimistic
Pieces broke off right away

Pieces broke off from it when I just opened the box so I'm returning it now.
The device is definitely of poor quality and little reliable in time
January 14, 2016
Buy this product but on arrival I found that was defective because the temperature of the appliance is kept between 40 to 45 degrees.I asked the seller that changed me the device and receiving it I found that the new device had the same problem. At the beginning the temperature is kept between 40 to 46 degrees, but in the following days under 32 degrees and 34 degrees maximum. The device is definitely of poor quality and little reliable in time. Not the recommend to buy it.
Worked well for ~2 weeks
December 1, 2015
Less than half a month after receiving product, the heater barely puts out any heat. The rotation was great and the remote works well. I would like the ability to silence the beeping, but the biggest gripe wit the product is that it didn't work for long.
Love, but plug melted
July 8, 2015
Love the thermostat function, but the heater stopped working when we used it around the clock in our newborn nursery. There was a burning smell when the heater auto jumped to set itself to 90 degrees. At that point, powering down did not work. We unplugged it only to find the plug slightly melted with the prongs corroded. Very scary. Cannot trust to use this product.
Plug burned me still
July 15, 2017
They don't work. I had purchased a few of these for small space heaters. After letting the heater run for about 10 minutes I decided to move it across the room. The plug on these get so hot one actually left burn marks on me when I was testing them.

Junk With A Capital JUNK.
January 13, 2016
Unfortunately you can't do minus stars .I bought this heater from one of the big hardware stores, good deal with veterans discount .I have to say this is one of the poorest(and I can't stress that enough) designed heaters I have ever seen .When this heater finally brings room to temperature and is idle there is a temperature override that makes the unit think the room temperature is two to three degrees higher than what it is .When it does come back on, which would be two degrees below set temp now it is playing a game of catch up which makes it about as inefficient as it can get .Temperature fluctuations are averaging 5 degrees causing heater to run way more than it should .Whoever designed this should go back to school .All the readings I did were taken with an IR temperature gun .If you had one, all you would have to do is put it in a room and watch it's operation to know how bad it is .Do yourself a favor and stay away from this .Thank God for 90 day return policy, going back tomorrow .
