Excellent hand-held cordless vacuum!
June 8, 2017
I've been using this regularly for three years to vacuum loose dirt off hardwood floors in my place, and absolutely love how powerful this is for a cordless vacuum. It works well, is easy to clean and maintain, and performs reliably. I did have to buy replacement batteries recently, and here's what I purchased: Powerextra 2 Pack 2200mAh Eureka Replacement Battery 60776/68112/39150 for Eureka 96 Series VacuumsI've also replaced the filter one time with this: Genuine Eureka STK Filter 61544B - 1 filterAnother really nice convenience is that, while charging, the red light on the recharging unit blinks, and when its full charged, turns solid red, so you know it's charged. Very nice design. The only real very minor note I want to make is that at one point I thought that the batteries had died, but, I believe now, in fact, the battery had just dislodged itself. I've noticed that, while using, sometimes the battery will dislodge and the vacuum will cut off. I then just press down on the top of the battery, to make sure its seated properly in the vacuum. It's hard to fault the vacuum for such a minor detail, however, as when I use the vacuum, I really swing this little guy around. Plus, the battery pack is really convenient to be able to insert and remove, and it only becomes dislodge with alot of great force.
Just sweepin my life away!

Almost 70, and can't believe I haven't gotten one of these before now!
This little sweeper is a real time and work saver. I use it primarily on my kitchen floor(hardwood with a few throw rugs, big country kitchen) and it really makes cleanup fast. I have never run the battery down so I can't say how long it lasts, but they say 18 or 20 minutes. You would be surprised how much ground you can cover in less time than that.
My hardwood floor accumulates a large amount of dust, popcorn chips, cat food crumbs, grand kids cookie crumbs, lint, and any number of other small bits in a very short amount of time. So I end up using this thing at least a couple of times a day. I used to use a dust mop then have to pick up the pile. This thing makes life much easier. I also have a cat that is nearly as old as I am(Max is his name) and I was surprised at the amount of cat hair that was on that floor that I didn't know about. This sweeper cleans it right up and I was amazed at how much there was. Glad I bought it, just for that. There is a setting for rugs(just activates the spinning brush) and does a great job of the throw rugs I mentioned earlier.

I mounted the charger on the wall in my laundry room right next a power outlet. The sweeper just hangs there in it's nifty little holder charger, inconspicuously out of the way and always charged and ready to go. It's light weight and great for old people as well as young, and saves me from getting out the big vacuum. I still use the big vacuum, just don't need to as often as I used to.

We'll see how long it lasts, but it has already saved me enough work and aggravation with the big vacuum that I figure it has paid for itself and everything else is gravy.

When it goes, if it goes(before I do) I will certainly buy another.
Oh! and nobody gave me nothi'n for this review.
Purrfect for cat hair and litter
October 28, 2015
Debated about which cordless vacuum to get and this one was so affordable! I just moved into an apartment with hardwood floors and my two feline children love to fling cat litter around. Once I saw somebody specifically mention it's perfect for cat litter, I purchased it. I let it charge for 24 hours and just ran it through my apartment (which is small, ran it for less than 10 minutes and battery survived the whole time). I think it worked hardcore on my carpet because it seemed to have found another cat (see photo!). Would recommend for sure.
I want to add a tip, if you're looking for something to pick up big things, this probably isn't the best vacuum for you. It's more for picking up hair and dirt and little pieces of things. I got this a couple of months ago and it still works. I still love it because I'm too lazy to use a plug in vacuum. I run it every other day or so to pick up cat litter.
A must for animal owners
October 18, 2015
If I could give this 10 stars I would. I have a hairy, hairy dog and hardwood floors. I am not a clean freak. This stick vacuum is perfect for picking up the dog hair. No, it will not clean your floor spotless, but it will make it presentable. I LOVE mine. It's so light weight and easy to just run over the kitchen floor once. You will not be sorry. It makes normal noise for a dustbuster/stick vac. I bring that up because I have another one that sounds like a jet engine- I can't even use it I feel like it's damaging my ears. This one, normal, expected noise level. The charging station can be mounted to the wall and mine seems to go for quite some time before it needs to be charged. You open it and dump the dirt out. I think the stick detaches as well, but I have never done that.
Replaced 2009 Model and Is Still A Great "Dustbuster On a Stick"
September 9, 2015
Bought this to replace a 2009 model (purple) that didn't charge properly. Over the 6 years we owned it we replaced the battery every 2 years which is expected of NiCad batteries. This time it was the charger base and that is $22, so might as well buy new model. This model is virtually identical in design. They both use NiCad batteries and claim a 12 minute run time. We use this for our kitchen floor and the oriental carpets at the front door. It does a fine job picking up small debris/dirt/hair. Be aware that the unit uses small rubber rollers (no height adjustment) and probably rides less about 1/16" off the floor. In other words, it won't ride over top of Cheerios and larger debris, but if you lift it it would have no problem inhaling those items.
The old model used a simple "trickle" charger design that really isn't good for NiCads. The new design uses a smart charger that shuts off once charging is complete, this should be better for NiCad life. There are two red LEDs on the charging base. The right one is always on and simply indicates that the power block is plugged in and the unit is receiving power. The left LED is normally off, but when you plug in the vacuum (or set a battery in the charging base), the LED will flash while the battery is re-charging. Once re-charged, the LED goes off. Used the unit for 10 minutes and the re-charge time is many hours. This is not a 1-hour Li-Ion charge like a cell phone or cordless drill.
Upon receipt, you must initially charge the unit for 14 to 16 hours to provide a full initial charge. I then ran for ten minutes on carpet (with brush on) and on vinyl floor (brush off) and then placed back on charger for a good overnight charge. It took over 4 hours to re-charge. I have also placed the 2 year-old battery from the old unit on the charging base and charged it overnight. One thing, when both vacuum w/battery and 2nd battery are placed on charging base, the left LED will flash until BOTH batteries are charged and you really don't know which has finished first...
The dust cup on this model is clear so it makes it easy to see when the cup is full or the filter needs cleaning. The brush does a fairly good job beating/lifting the carpet nap, but this unit is not corded and therefore it is not anywhere near as powerful as a corded unit.
One final thing, don't even bother comparing to a Dyson cordless. The Dyson is a whole different animal from battery through motor and cost 10X the amount. The best way to think of this unit is "Dustbuster on a Stick" and is a good unit for the price. I expect it to be as reliable as the 2009 model it replaces.

MY WORDS for FREE on a GREAT Time Saving Cordless Vac
February 25, 2016
Wow.......I've waited to review so I had some use of the machine before I raved about it. I use a $300 dyson at a house cleaning gig that lasts for 10-15 minutes of cordless time before you need to charge it.

This Eureka came with a spare battery! And it last nearly 30 minutes before it starts to need a charge. Two settings...one for carpet that runs a rotating brush and one for bare floors. Easy to set up, easy to store with the storage/charging station that also is included. Convenient beyond belief!!!! kitchen hardwoods to rugs on the floor to the carpeted LRm to the bathroom. All on one battery charge and you have a tidy up grand job in no time at all!

Easy also is the little dirt container that pops on and off swiftly and into the garbage can. (the one that opens hand free...maybe i already reviewed that treasure)

And I was a bigger fan of Amazon until customer service went askew...but I live so rural that I still buy, I am expanding where I shop. I don't like to be pushed into Amazon Prime for instance by the suspiciously slowing down of packages arriving that ship free. BUT I am not getting MY stuff for free to review...I'm going to likely only review great stuff or crummy stuff. It takes time....and I don't feel appreciated by Amazon for it anyway.
Great Cleaner and does the job it was designed for.
February 13, 2016
Great Product, So neat that when your battery runs out, just take it out and put in the fresh one. Such a simple concept that others should emulate. It does a good job on linoleum floors and is great for quick pick ups on carpet. I wouldn't buy one without a revolving brush. It does a great job on cat hair. Easy to empty the container, the container is adequate for the size of the vacuum. The filter is much larger than the one on the dust devil. It could be improved by having a clear container so the capacity and dust filter could be checked without taking the container off. The filter is easy to remove and clears itself nicely with a banging on the side of the garbage can. Of course it doesn't take the place of a larger cleaner but it does the job it is designed for. I definitely recommend it to friends and relatives and hope I can still say the same for it a year from now.
Cleans Like a Dream! No lie!
July 19, 2015
This stick vacuum has greatly increased the quality of my life. No lie!!!

First, let me say that I have a dog. A collie mix named "Tater Tot". She is the love of my life. She sheds. All the time. Every season. I brush her all the time. Seriously, all the time. Still, dog hair all over my house. All the time. "Tater hair, everywhere" is an often muttered phrase in my household.

I've attached a picture so you can see the level of "furriness" of said dog.

My partner and I moved into a house with wood floors at the end of last year. We have a few low pile carpets here and there, but nothing very big. I "had" been using our Bissell Helix Upright Vacuum. I've had it for 2 years. But it just didn't seem to be doing the job at our new house. Even after cleaning it and washing out the filter. It seemed like it needed some support in the cleaning arena, so I decided to shop around for a stick vacuum. The reviews for this, especially with pet hair were great. So I decided to give it a try.

I didn't consider this thing a "real vacuum" when I ordered it. I thought that I would use it to help with the pet hair. I was in for a shock . . .

If some salesperson would have told me that this little stick of a thing would GREATLY outperform my Bissell upright, I would have laughed in their face. For real, for real.

But now, after two weeks of use, the Bissell is on the curb. It sucks, and not in the way that it should.

The Eureka picks up everything but rocks. No lie! This is the cleanest my floors have been in 6 months. And, the handheld vacuum part has done a great job of getting Tater hair off my furniture! I had no idea that we were living in filth. But apparently, we were.

The fact that it comes with two batteries is a god send. You'll need them both to clean your house. My house it not quite a Tiny House, but it's close. Also, do order another filter. The other reviews were right. This things picks up so much dirt and hair you'll need the back up one while you're cleaning the dirty one.

In conclusion, the reviews for this vacuum are on point. I rarely wright reviews. But this little miracle has inspired me to a reach out to my fellow consumers! Varely, this is a vacuum worthy of praise!
Love it!!! & some tips!
January 5, 2015
Love this vac!!!! You will not be sorry. If you have a cleaning business like I do I developed a system that works great for me:
Yes they only last 15 minutes. Good for a homes for quick pick ups. & car!
I bought the : Eureka Quick Up 2-in-1 Cordless w/Bonus Battery...
With buying 2 of the vacs with extra batteries for my cleaning business, that gave me 4 battery packs.
I bought 4 more. Makes 8 packs.
I charged all 8 each 3 x & let run down fully at each use. I still let them run down fully & recharge. Seems to work for me.

I keep 2 fully charged packs in each ziploc bag & # the battery packs with a small label so I can keep track. Two empty ziplock bags say USED-EMPTY. to put run down packs in.
Reason I do this is I mainly use my vac for a huge church which has gone heavy chairs instead of pews. :(. This system as been a life saver for me. Cords would not work. Always getting stuck & not enough plugs..

I usually use 4-5 packs for each 5 hour cleaning. With 8 packs I'm ready if I need more.
I bought more charging stations. I don't hang vacs up to charge. Have stations set up in a room on a Belkin surger that takes all 6 block chargers. I can see light as I leave my bedroom blinking or not when fully charged. I can turn off surger when not charging. Habit now...Just come home charge the ones used & put back in their ziplock bags.
I use a lunch bag with zipper to hold Packs & small utility knfie for hairs on brush.. Easy to carry in car.

I say all this to maybe help someone who has my dilemma where cords won't work. & wondering how do I clean this church ( or business or home)?
You have to empty often as you clean. I do when pack runs down. You have to take hairs & string off brush for it to clean right with a sm knife. & keep filter clean.
I clean till sound & power gets less. Turn vac over with brushes up on a chair or floor to let run down. Go do something else. When dead- clean & put new pack in.
Easy.
Been doing this 2 months. Never had a problem with any pack I've bought. 15 minutes is awful, but this system I do has solved a huge problem I had. Eventually I assume they will run down faster or give me trouble & need replacing. It's the way of rechargeables.
For now this is a solution for me cleaning this big church. Hope it can help someone else.
Good value decision!
February 27, 2014
I spent a week looking at cordless vacuums for our new home. We have a Sears upright that does a great job but it is overkill for touch-ups and heavy for my wife to maneuver in our new home. We have all wood floors with a few area rugs and a dog (Scottish Terrier) who's hair we let grow long in the winter to keep him warm.

I looked at the Hoover Lynx and the Electrolux battery models which several of our neighbors have and recommended to us. FIrst, the cost of the Hoover and the Electrolux was over $100 more than this Eureka! The Electrolux models, while they had lithium batteries, had the disadvantage that the batteries were sealed into the unit and so I could not have an extra battery to use. The Hoover Lynx had the availability to insert an extra battery, but the battery costs as much as this entire Eureka with TWO batteries!

I figured that the whole Eureka WITH the extra battery cost me $50 and I would see how it did. If it did not satisfy during the Amazon return period, it would go back. If it had the "die right after the warranty ends" syndrome, I was out $50 not $150 PLUS another $50+ for a spare battery.

We have now had this Eureka for a month and plain and simple, IT WORKS GREAT! We can usually touch-up the entire house (even the rugs) on one battery, sometimes near the end we do need the second one to finish. It's amazing how much it can pick-up, including the dog's hair! Cleaning it out is no problem. We just open it up, remove the filter over the wastebasket and dump it. I use a small floor brush to clean off the filter and that seems to work quite well. I have not had to wash the filter yet and the suction seems to be "as new". I did buy a second filter, but I have not used it yet.

With the two batteries we have more than enough to do the entire house (1850 sq.ft.). When done, of the unit and the battery goes to the charger, ready for the next cleaning.

My wife is a protector of her new floors and I am happy to say that this unit seems to baby them with no scratching or scuffing from the unit or the brushes when we run them. However, I noted that it picks up well on the bare wood even without the brushes turned on.

When researching to buy this vacuum, I was frustrated by the "I got it today and it's great" reviews. I want to know how it is after a month and that's what my review is. After a month, it works great, performs above what I expected and I'd buy another one!

Great for in-between cleanings!
February 22, 2016
I got this for "in between" cleans on my vinyl plank flooring and tile floors. So far, I love it.

Pros:
- Lightweight and easy to use. My 4 year-old loves using it, and I certainly don't mind getting some help from my kids.
- Easy option for charging. I prefer to remove the battery and charge the battery, but there's a mount option that allows you to plug the entire unit onto the charger (this option makes more sense for a wall-mounted charger set up).
- No cord to fumble with, plug in, unplug, untangle, etc.
- Reasonable battery life. Since this is only for my downstairs and between major cleanings, it usually lasts as long as I need it to before the battery needs recharging.
- Cleans the messes I need it to! I got this for picking up crumbs. I've got three young kids and there are always crumbs on the floor after meals. This has saved me from getting on my hands and knees and a using a dustpan to clean under the table. This does not pick up larger, moist foods, though.
- Beater brush works surprisingly well on carpet and rugs. I was thrilled to see how well this picked dog hair off the carpet on my stairs! Again, I use this as an in-between cleanings with my Dyson and for quick pick-ups. Using this on the stairs compared to a full size vacuum is, of course, like a dream. Super light-weight and no cord features make it perfect.
- Small and stores well. This unit will stand up on its own, unlike a large, heavy vacuum that might have tendency to tip over. Slim enough to store in tight spaces.

Cons:
- Does not pick up well against walls/edges. I have no trick for getting around this issue other than sweeping out messes away from edges (like under lower kitchen cabinets) and then vacuuming. I find that it really doesn't pick up anything that is within an inch from the wall, no matter what angle you come in at.

Other than that one issue, I have no major complaints. This is not a vacuum for all jobs! It's been a great replacement to sweeping and wonderful to do quick pick ups on rugs and carpets without bringing out the big guns. This isn't really any more powerful than a handheld vacuum, so come in with reasonable expectations and you'll be happy with it. The larger head provides more efficient vacuuming for larger areas than your typical hand-held and if you have young kids, you might actually get help with some light vacuuming. Seize that opportunity, parents!
For what you pay, it's great value!
August 23, 2015
For what you pay, it's great value. We have a Dyson but I hate dragging that up from the basement to use - we have 2 young kids and this is perfect for a post dinner quick clean up vacuum, or in the winter if you've trod in a bunch of salt and grit from outside.
Would I use it to deep clean my whole house? Definitely not.
Could I use it to pick up crumbs and food post dinner or dust balls from the rug or under the couch? Yes.
It is not a heavy duty vacuum. It's light weight so you can also use it to vacuum your stairs too - providing they aren't crazy dirty. Does the battery last a long time? No, not really if you use it as much as we do. This isn't the one with an additional battery either, so I recommend picking another one up when you buy it. It's also light enough to get the kids involved in helping to clean up! :)
I'm actually posting this review now as I grab another one of these!
Great value for the price - will purchase another
December 10, 2014
ONE YEAR UPDATE: Battery lasted about a year and is completely dead as of July 2015. In defense of the product, I noted when I returned from a 10 day trip that our live-in pet sitter had this in a corner and NOT on the charger... possibly for the whole 10 days, and maybe depleted it completely before leaving it there. I liked this so much that I'm looking to purchase another of the same. I'm noting that the price has about doubled from $15.99 when I purchased to $30 now. May still be a good value when comparing to other cordless stick options, plus "known vs unknown" factor is big for me.
_____________________
Very good for the price. I've had this vac for 5 months now. The battery life is excellent. I purchased exclusively to pick up the scattered litter from our cat, but I'm preparing to purchase another because it's so small and convenient. Like most stick vac's you have a dust cup to keep clean - this one is easy to clean and dries quickly when rinsed out [which I do every 2 weeks or so since I used daily]. The waste receptacle is nice and large, so you can actually get away with cleaning it every few times used. The suction is best when the dust cup is just cleaned.. but still good after 2-3 light uses. I did note when I first got this that the suction to pick up litter and other small scraps is not very good if you don't have the brush bar switched on. The good news is that the spinning brush doesn't seem to kick particles back towards your feet like my others have. So, for that reason, when I first used it I considered returning, but for under $20 [paid $16] I'm happy I kept it. The hanging hardware is incorporated with the charger mechanism, and you also have the convenience of pulling the battery out [which is easy/nice design] if you have space to mount the charger, but not enough space to hang the vac. I've used this both ways - battery pull out, into charger, and back into vacuum is a swift one-handed easy operation.
ALMOST absolutely love it! You'll still need your Dustbuster though
February 10, 2012
This little vacuum is almost perfect for my needs. It has a decently long charge, it picks up very well on my wood floors, area rug and carpet on the stairs. I can get though most of it on 1 charge. The only thing that what somewhat disappointing was that with it being a 2 in 1, I thought I could remove the lower portion to be used as a Dustbuster type vacuum as I was going along. Welllllll, that's not really the case. The 2 in 1 means the handle can be taken off. There is a handle to hold the lower part when detached, but it is as you see in the picture. There is no taking the bottom part with the beater bar out of the unit. There are no attachments to get into tight spots. It doesn't work at all on furniture. It does work really well on the stairs though.

For the price, I would still recommend it. But if you want a true 2 in 1 vacuum, this isn't going to fit the bill.

Oh, and make sure the battery is seating in the unit correctly. Otherwise it doesn't charge properly and then you get to call customer service. Hopefully you won't get the same guy I did.......
So Happy! Just what I was looking for
November 18, 2011
I am very happy with this little mini Vac. I charged it for a full 14 hours before using it the first time as I've read. Did my whole upstairs (hardwood throughout) and my stairs (carpet runner)I was pretty happy with that! It is NOT for heavy vacuuming...won't pick up cheerios people (which is why it got 4 stars instead of 5!! Its perfect for crumbs, dog hair and dust bunnies which used to be my problem but now I can quickly take care of it without having to drag out the big vacuum AND no tripping over the darned cord!!

Another plus, it fits under the bed which if you have hardwood floors, you know you get dust bunnies under there fairly quickly.

Worked better than I thought it would on the carpets. Love that it doesn't suck the edges of the carpet up into the vac...but it manages to pick up the mess...

Also I read about the mess emptying and basically its fine - just put the cup INSIDE the trash when you pull it out - If your trash is full - empty it first or you will have a mess.

Can't say enough about this - If you have the problems I described above - Go for it you will be happy!

Get this one as it has the extra battery included. Great little lightweight pick up vacuum!
December 6, 2015
UPDATED - not changing my review, just updating re: battery life at 7 months out. Both batteries have quite a short run time now, under 5 minutes and I expect them to be useless soon. Honestly I am quite upset I can't find replacements here on Amazon and will be looking elsewhere. This is really the perfect vacuum for my usage, primarily picking up litter on small rugs. Off to go hunting for batteries. Ok, found batteries. They are $22 a piece plus shipping so essentially while the vacuum has a one year warranty, when you figure in the price of the replacement batteries (I don't have my warranty papers but surely batteries are not covered)... it's just easier to buy a new one...but every 7 months? hmmm
==========================================================================================
I use this several times a day. We have three long haired cats and when I empty the cup once a week I get several inches of fur on the filter and it was still picking up. It's used on rug and bare floor surfaces and it does an admirable job on both. If I had a wish list - 1. that the beater bar came off and it was just the nozzle at the end to use it to clean the car, etc. 2. That the filter was a little easier to get back together. There is a rubber seal that just has to be really pushed down hard to get the cup/filter to snap back in. Other than that this is a terrific little very lightweight vac that this disabled woman is happy to have available until hubby can pull out the big vac on the weekend. This one has the extra battery pack. This is essentially a necessity as it takes quite a long time for the battery to charge and one only lasts about 20 min of run time with the brush roll running (which for me ends up being all the time).
Overall recommend! A few tips below
July 14, 2015
Love this vaccum! Great for dog hair(have a long hair and short hair who both love to shed), dirt, crumbs, grit, and cedar shavings that the dogs track in. Would get sand / litter with brush roll on. Was not able to get dog kibble, it didnt have enough height clearance to go over the kibble. Doesn't get larger things like shredded paper roll, some objects are too large to physically fit in the vaccum. Occasionally hair gets caught on bristles, I just turn the roller on for a few seconds and it clears up & into vac. Even gets up the littler pieces of hay that come pouring out if boots & shoes.

Fantastic on short/industrial carpet. Takes a few more passes on bathroom shag rugs but does the job! The wide head is your only option, even as a hand held. However, I personally don't mind because I already have another hand held with a narrow mouth. One battery did my main floor, upstairs, and half the downstairs of my 3 bed 2 bath 3 level home, using brush roller about half the time. House is mostly hardwood but a few rugs. Switched out the batteries and had plenty to spare when finished.

Another reviewer mentioned spark corrosion after a year or so on the batteries, so that may be why some people's batteries became less effective. Cleaning with a wire brush or screw driver to fix. Will update if/when I cross that bridge and the experience.

Vaccum will stand on its own if propped forward, but does not "self return" to standing (cmon, it's a cordless stick.)

Only complaint is that the dirt cup can be tough to put back on. The filter has to really be pressed down all the way flush again for the dirt cup to snap back into proper place. After a couple times I got the hang of just how to align it and press down around the edges to get it where it is "happy" again. Really the only true complaint for this vac & hence 4 stars. Overall great little vaccum for dog hair and small things, so my house doesn't look so much like 2 large breeds live here!
Best features: no cord and light weight Easy and quick but not a power house vacuum.
June 4, 2015
Only had this for a day so this is based on first impressions.
This is not a super deep down cleaning vacuum. So I would not compare its power to one that is sold as a power vacuum.
As noted by others the handle is a bit flimsy feeling - but for the light work it was intended for it may be sturdy enough.

It is light weight without a cord to bother with - making quick pick ups very easy. It will pick up
dust, hair and even the sandy stuff we bring in on our shoes and deposit on our front door matt.
I used this on hardwood floors and scatter rugs/mat. Worked well on both.

If you want something that does work for lighter clean ups with out a cord this is easy to recommend.
Use a 6v Lead Acid battery to fend off the terrible run time on the factory batteries
March 2, 2015
When I bought this vacuum, I was looking for something light and portable for my wife to use upstairs. This unit fits that description and works quite well, however even though it came with two rechargable NiCad battery packs, the battery life was pitiful. From the start, each battery only lasted roughly 10-15 mins tops. After a month or two, the battery life was 5 minutes each and never got better.

I was considering buy another battery pack, but figured it would just get baked by the cheapo charger and we would have the same issue. The individual subc-cells could be replaced, but same issue would occur, it would just be less expensive. Then I considered different battery technology like li-ion, but the start-up current was too much - so I tried a powerwheels lead acid battery and the vacuum has lasted a month on one charge and has not shown any signs of slowing down.

Long story short - if your unit's batteries are crap, do a little modding and wire up a small 6 volt 4.5 ah lead acid battery. I'll attach a couple pictures of what I did. The cable hanging off is so a smart lead acid charger (battery buddy) can be plugged in and it will charge without baking the battery.
Very happy with this purchase
February 28, 2015
Very happy with this purchase!

I bought this as a supplemental vacuum cleaner specifically to clean up tracked cat litter.
It is absolutely awesome for this purpose.
The suction is GREAT for loose cat litter and little crumblies you can feel underfoot while walking on tile/hardwood.

I probably wouldn't even need to vacuum that often if I was a normal person, but if I feel anything, and I mean ANYTHING, on my feet when I'm walking through my house it's time to vacuum.

I wanted something quick and easy that I could pull out in 10 seconds get the job done it and then stick it back in the laundry room, and all of this in the time it would have taken me to to get out and plug in the other vacuum cleaner.

I was tired of hauling out my full size upright every few days for just a little bit of tracked cat litter that came out of the cat's litter house.
Using my full sized vacuum for this specific task means setting up the hose, hooking up the special floor attachment and hauling the upright vacuum cleaner around after hose while I get under things. It's not actually that much work unless, like me, you do this every two days.

I have a Eureka boss bagged vacuum cleaner that I LOVE * - but for a quick touch up, setting it up to use it for such a specific purpose and for a 30 second job takes longer than the actual job.

This mini cordless is not (nor would I expect it to be) a vacuum cleaner that would do any deep cleaning.
I would not replace my regular vacuum with this machine. But it is PERFECT for what I bought for. The features, price, and onvenience are exactly what I was looking for.

Bonus awesome features: (I get very excited when I see things that are well designed!!)
- There is an extra battery that can charge at the same time as the one in the vacuum and/or independently.
- It comes with a handy little charger that can be wall mounted or sit on a shelf.
(Whoever designed this was really thinking about practical use.)
- It stands up on its own! I can't really say how excited I am about this. It's awesome!

4 out of 5 only because:
- It takes 16 hours(!) for the battery to charge. The charge then only lasts 20 to 25 minutes.
- It does limit what I can do with this vacuum cleaner, but the extra battery does offset this problem significantly.

* I did a lot of research when I bought my upright vacuum. I bought my first one 10 years ago and when it finally gave up the ghost I bought exactly the same model. It cleans better than a Kirby or a Dyson with way more features. Consumer Reports rated it super high too.

Served its purpose but...
February 3, 2017
I purchased this item to keep tidy a carpeted area that was less than 250 ft square. It was sufficient for the task, even slightly impressive in its ability to grab hair, etc. (although it was not a high traffic area so hair, lint, etc was minimal). But given that I only vacuumed this room twice a month, I'm disappointed that the battery started dying just after month 5 (or 10 vacuums into its life). After that I had to recharge midway thru & as time went on, would have to recharge three times, just to do a small room. By the time I got my real vacuum out of storage a year after purchasing/using this item, it only held a charge for 2 mins or so at a time and was good for nothing.
At first, this vacuum literally sucks...then it figuratively sucks as the battery quickly dies
February 19, 2015
This vacuum is great overall, but fair warning that the battery life is extremely poor. I've had 3 of these so far and I've managed to make each successive one last longer than the previous one. My first vacuum wouldn't hold a charge after about 9 months...the second after 12 months.....and this last one about 2 years.

You're probably wondering "why do you keep buying it?" Well, each time I've gotten it, it's been as part of a flash deal for just over $20. A new battery costs about the same (if not more), so I figured I'd just get a whole new vacuum. Right out of the box, this thing is better than cordless electric sweepers that cost $50-70....I've tried a bunch.

You can extend the lifespan of the battery by removing it from the charger after it's fully charged. Also, fully drain the battery before you recharge it. With my first vacuum, I just left it sitting on the charger constantly. With my second, I would remove it from the charger after it was charged, but I would recharge it after every use. With my third, .....well, you get the idea.

If you get this on sale and you're willing to put up with the headache of removing it from the charger, you really can't beat this vacuum. Otherwise, you should steer clear.....

There are no deals for this right now, and I can't honestly justify paying $35 for one of these, so I think it's time to move onto a new vaccum....
So wonderful and easy until it died

We have a 1600sq foot house 2 toddlers and 2 cats. When we put our house up for sale I had no desire to pull the big vac out every morning before work to vacuum the whole house before work. I thought about a Swiffer sweeper but they are only guaranteed to run 12 minutes and cost $45! This thing was amazing. I could do the floors, couches and area rugs without skipping a beat and without losing suction. The battery also made it through all 1600sq ft. Now don't get me wrong this is not my house cleaning vacuum. It was just my quickie, catch the cat hair balls, and food on the floor vacuum but it would last as good 25-30 minutes and I bet it would go longer.

**UPDATE**
Well 11 months later of daily use; I continued to use it at the new house to clean the tile and hard wood in the new house, the vacuum would die seconds after turning it on. I called the manufacturer and was sent a new battery but my electrical engineer husband said the battery wasn't the issue, in his opinion. New battery lasted several minutes longer but now after the warranty has expired I have a dead vacuum and 2 junk batteries. I honestly think they knew the motor was about to poop out on me but since I was so close to the end of my warranty they would just send me a $3 battery to "kill time."

All in all it was a good vacuum. I'd say in the 12-13 months I owned it I used it close to 400 times which adds up to about 950 hours of use so for the price I might just buy another. Unless I find an awesome deal on a Dyson and a few $100s in a parking lot.
Handy but doesn't last

We bought this just to do quick pick-ups on our hardwood floors. It works really well for that kind of job. These are the pros and cons:
-It's a little tough to get the cup back in to the vacuum after you have emptied it but you can get the hang of it after a few attempts. (Put the rubber seal at the bottom of the cup in first)
-After about 6 months, the battery stops holding a full charge. So you will be able to use it but battery charge won't last long enough to get the whole job done anymore. So, you can either buy a new battery or a new vacuum.
-It is so much handier than dragging out the big vac or even the canister that replacing it more often is not that terrible and the price is great.
Here's the nitty gritty!
April 21, 2012
I have a love/hate relationship with this vacuum cleaner. There are great things about it, and horrible things about it. I will break them both down for you but first I will tell you a little about my home. It is about 2300Sq ft. It has 3 most common floor times. Hardwood, tile, and plush carpet. I bought this vacuum for my new home because it was appealing on many levels. It was small, lightweight and cordless.

The Pros: This vacuum is small, lightweight, and cordless. It is easy to assemble and virtually goes anywhere! It's a lot quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner. Heck it's so small and compact even my toddler enjoys using it (Woohoo!). It is also pretty easy to empty!

The Cons: The battery life only allows me to vacuum about 2-3 rooms at a time on a full charge, and about 1 room on a partial charge. The suction isn't the greatest, and you can FORGET picking up anything that isn't dust or hair. It has trouble vacuuming up anything dime sized or bigger. You can also forget trying to vacuum anything on thicker carpets.

In the end, it's not a bad buy for the price.. However, it could definitely use room for improvement. I find that it's best to use on a daily basis to keep the dust off the hardwood floors to prevent the dreadful dirty feet. It is great when used in addition to a regular sized vacuum. I use my Eukera stick vacuum daily for the dust and hair, and my traditional oreck twice a week for the bigger stuff, and a deeper clean especially on the carpets. If you are looking for a main vacuum, a vacuum you can buy and it does it all.. This is not for you. If you are looking for something in addition to your main vacuum for little jobs without having to lug out the big guy, then this is for you!

Ok for the price

This vacuum is not bad, but I wish I'd spent a bit more for a more powerful vacuum. It just doesn't pick up all the debris it should, especially between grooves in the floor. But unlike other reviewers, I find that the charge lasts plenty long. I think the key might be to let the battery fully charge before you use it for the first time - definitely overnight. I did, and rarely have to change to the backup battery even when cleaning my entire 1200 sq ft apartment (rugs and floors). I love the light weight and the convenience of a cordless vacuum, but there are plenty of others on the market with the same features that might offer more power. Maybe not at this low price, but you get what you pay for. I was also disappointed that the "2-in-1" feature just means that you can remove the long handle. Since you can't remove the vacuum head, it doesn't allow you to reach smaller areas or use any attachments, which really limits the cleaning range. I won't return it, but I wouldn't repurchase it.
This vacuum doesn't suck...literally.
September 1, 2014
I bought this vacuum cleaner to do the occasional throw rugs around our house and to pick up some small, swept piles of dirt and debris on the hardwood, which is throughout most of our house.

* * THINGS I LIKED * *
- It has a motorized beater brush, a kind of rare feature for something of this price and size. The beater brush does pretty well at picking up dog hair from our throw rugs, better than the basic model with straight suction only. #hint, keep the beater brush picked clear of hair. I have three daughters and a wife, who combined shed like a cocker-spaniel. If I wasn't frequently picking the long strands of hair out of the beater brush, it is likely that the added resistance might slow or damage the motor eventually#
- It comes with two batteries, glad they didn't make it a separate purchase.. that means if you are thinking ahead and charge both, you get a fair amount of time at full to near-full strength, more than enough to do your average pickup job (as long as you aren't trying to vacuum an entire house's carpeting with it). The battery change out is a drop-in, very easy and quick to do.
- The charging station is pretty well thought out, sort of. You can simultaneously charge both batteries, one in the vacuum and mounted on the charging station, the second in a small charging cradle on the station. Kinda slick.

* * THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER * *
- The dirt cup is opaque plastic and I cannot tell the level of dirt or when I need to empty it. I just do it regularly.
- The clip holding the dirt cup to the vacuum seems pretty flimsy and I fear that the time will come sooner than later that it will no longer hold the cup in place. Then what, junk it? Duct tape?
- The charging station MUST BE mounted on a wall or vertical surface. It will not sit free-standing on the floor and fit the vacuum to charge. You can sit the station on the floor and charge the single spare battery in the charging cradle, but you cannot charge the one in the vacuum cleaner unless it is hanging from the wall.

* * PURCHASE RECOMMENDATION * *
Ummmm.. probably not. If i had it to do over again, i might continue to look for a better model. The vacuum is somewhat weak, the powered beater brush and spare battery is probably the best thing this item has going in its favor. Other than that, many issues need to be addressed and improved.

* * SUMMARY * *
Meh. If you have a little dust or the occasional lint, this is your vacuum. If you have kids, pets or a crunched up cheerio you want to clean up, stop reading and move on. Great battery life, easy to use, lightweight but if you want it to actually vacuum more than dust...get a better vacuum.

Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it helpful.
Great product

Update:
(2017) Bought a replacement battery from a third party vendor and it's alive again! I can comfortably vacuum the whole house and the juice is more than enough. I will still keep the stars as is since I had to find my own solution to their problems. With the new battery I'm again using it often and quite happy about it. I also love the fact that it doesn't require any disposable bags - you just empty the bag and reuse it again and again.

(2016 July) Batteries that came with the unit really don't last for more than a few mins or so now. Both of them. I have to charge both of them right before vacuuming, and then get it done in one go with 2 batteries and I barely finish my small 2 BR apartment. Guess it's been over 2 years but I expected a bit more. I love the handiness and it works well but I'm contemplating whether to try and get a new battery or get a new one. I also never use without the stick handle so don't need that 2-in-1 kind but just a simple stick cordless vacuum would work, really. Plus I struggle with the corners with this one since it only has this wide clean surface area and I have to vacuum the edges and corners with another smaller handheld one, so I may look for one that has interchangeable nozzle or something. Overall, I'm not as happy as when I first got this 2 years ago, and certainly won't buy it again.

(2015 August) Been using this for a while now, and with perhaps once a week or less usage, the battery is pretty much dead. It lasts barely about 5 mins with a full charge. Lucky that the one I bought came with a replacement battery so I can change as soon as the first one dies after about 10 mins. Another flaw is that it struggles to suck anything near the wall, so I recently bought another vacuum cleaner with a smaller nozzle, and I use it for corners and smaller areas, and this one for larger spaces. Took 2 stars off my original review for the life of its batteries.

Vacuum is very powerful, and collects lots of stuff. Hairs tend to get stuck on the brush, which I sometimes have to cut with scissors to remove. Spare battery is very useful. Would have paid a bit more if there is some way of attaching a smaller hose (like for the car interior and stuff). Overall, I'm very happy and would buy it again.
Good unit. Cleans well but batteries lasted only 15 months
November 22, 2013
I replaced a Swiffer unit with this when the Swiffer battery died (took about 2 years), and the replacement cost and assembly hassle was more than it was worth. This unit works well on bare floors, and works reasonably well on low pile carpets. You have to go slow and be patient on carpets if you are picking up things like cotton pieces. The battery lasts over 6 minutes even with the brush motor enabled. The dirt bag is MUCH bigger than the Swiffer's and the motor is MUCH stronger. This unit picks up stuff the Swiffer couldn't touch. This is a wall mounted unit no matter what the description says. It is the only way to maintain good contact with the charger terminals. Clean the dirt container and swap batteries after each use. A damp paper towel works well on the dirt bag, and it looks strong enough to run through the top rack of a dish washer (have not done that yet).

UPDATE: After 15 months the batteries would not charge anymore. Two new batteries cost about the same as the entire unit, so I threw it out and replaced it with a Hoover Linx cordless unit, which costs more, has longer lasting battery, and cleans much better.
There are better options available...
October 5, 2013
I'll start by saying that I think we may have received a faulty unit. The canister/filter didn't sit right when clicked into place, which may have been affecting the suction power. We ended up returning it.

That said, I still would have probably returned this vac even if it wasn't faulty. The reason being, there are much higher-quality vacs available for not a lot more money. We ended up with an Electrolux Ergorapido, which is so much better made in comparison (there is no comparison, really.)

Plus, the "handheld" function of this vac is a joke - all you do is remove the "stick" handle, so the head of the vac when in handheld mode is the same huge head as when it is in upright mode. Most other dual-mode models have a removable "dust buster" style vac with a smaller head for nooks and crannies. Not this Eureka!

Post-morteum review
August 22, 2016
This is going into the trash today so I thought I'd provide a review of its full lifetime performance. First, if you have shedding pets I don't recommend this stick vac. We have two mid-sized double-coated (e.g., heavy shedding) dogs and in no time the hair had completely gunned up the tiny "wheels" meaning when pushed over a smooth surface this left behind black marks where the wheels weren't turning. The brush in the vacuum cannot be easily (or at all?) removed but I would use scissors to remove dog hair. It's also not particularly effective for picking up larger items, like a cheerio. It is decent when working for vacuuming an entry way (dirt) or stairs. The biggest issue is how quickly the vacuum stops accepting a charge. It made it almost exactly two years in my home, but at least the last year of that was less than 2 minutes of vacuuming from fully charged. I've kept it because my three year old really likes to "vacuum" with me. Now it's something like 15 seconds of run time when "charged" which is frustrating for everyone so out it goes.

August 25, 2015
This used to be a great product. We have owned several of them over the past 10 years or so and kept replacing them as they wore out because they did a great job for what they were and could afford to be replaced as needed. It was cheaper to buy a new machine than to buy a replacement battery. We are very disappointed in the most recent replacement because of the charging system. They have made some changes and they are not for the better. We used to be able to charge the spare battery while the machine itself was also charging. No longer. If the machine is charging when we put the battery in the charger, the battery does not charge until we remove the machine and lift and replace the battery. The same for the machine. If the spare battery is in the charger when we insert the machine, the machine battery will not charge until we remove the spare battery. This never happened with the older models that we used to have. After complaining to the company they sent us a new wall charger, but it did not change anything. Still works the same inconvenient way. And it takes a very long time to reach full charge. This did not happen with previous models. Because it takes so long to reach full charge we often only get a very few minutes of running time when we need to use it before a full charge. The more recent model still does a great job of cleaning when it is running for awhile but we can't stand the inconvenience of the new charging system. It has been a great disappointment because we really liked all the previous ones we bought.
Works well, at least initially

EDIT: dropped review from 4 stars to 2. See note at end.

Terrific little vacuum. I've only had mine a short time so can't speak of durability over time. Some complain of the battery giving out.* The instructions say it may be left plugged in constantly. It comes with a power-up wall-mount; I love being able to just take it off the wall, do a quick sweep and then put it back for recharging. It couldn't get any more convenient.

I (initially) give it 4 stars because there is no provision for edge work. The brushes and vacuum opening begins about an inch away from the edge, so you're not going to be able to get in edges and corners. This is intended for general quick pickup; for edges or hard-to-reach spots you'll need a hand vac or regular vacuum with a crevice tool.

* NOTE: The reviews stating the battery dies prematurely is correct. I followed all instructions on this device and the battery died in less than one year. Since I only use this for spot cleaning, the battery dying in that amount of time indicates extremely poor battery quality. I really like this vacuum otherwise... but the battery situation makes this a losing purchase.
Great for weightless things, but nothing else
August 26, 2013
Edited March 2014:

Taking away a couple of stars, because every issue I mentioned still exists, but is worse.

* The battery is puny and must be recharged between every single vacuuming -- and our kitchen is only about 10x12. It might do our kitchen and both our small (4x6 bathrooms), but probably not much more on a single charge.
* It still picks up hair well. But nothing else. In the kitchen, it pushes crumbs around, picking up most of them only after a few passes, often dropping some again a few feet later. As a kitchen vacuum, it is quite poor. We still keep the broom in the kitchen closet, for edges of the room and for crumbs larger than a small bead or heavier than a speck of bread, or for times when we want the floor to be more than merely mostly-clean.

It would be 1-star but for the dearth of decent products in this segment.

-----

I've only had this for a couple of weeks and so far I'm somewhat satisfied. It does a terrific job of picking up hair in the bathroom, wool lint that our rugs shed and dust bunnies under the bed. It is much less useful for the kitchen. It often will not pick up the crumbs that fall on the floor. I find it does a little better if I use the carpet setting on the bare floor but I still find myself in the position of having to use a different method to pick up those crumbs. I do love how it works for the stuff under the sofa cushions. It's lightweight and small enough to fit in odd places to conveniently pick up little things of garbage. The battery doesn't last very long at all. It will barely complete one room. It would probably be a good idea to have an extra battery charging while using this so more area can be covered. If it only had a little more suction, I would love it.
Poor, Poor Engineering design as for Maintenance..... from an engineer's viewpoint.
October 18, 2011
UPDATE 12-18-15 : Tossed this vac out a couple of months ago. Just an absolute nightmare to take apart the powered head to remove tangled strings and to replace the belt, which comes off quite frequently...:((

When reassembling , some parts (the little roller wheels) have to literally sit in place by gravity while you try to snap the upside-down cover over them. Maybe 6 times you will try the cover, only to realize that the wheels are gone again. Two white nylon pieces that hold the roller in place are ridiculously difficult to keep in place at the same time you have to watch those wheels...%&$$^ Never saw even a full size powered head with this many loose pieces to watch out for.

Two stars instead of one, because when the machine is back together, it is really pretty good.

Original Review:

I bought this, 3 wks ago, mostly for my kitchen, which has a rough surface stone tile.

PROs: - Good battery life, considering how small...can do a 14x10 kitchen and two rooms of hardwood about 13x22, plus hardwood stairs, in about 25 mins.

- Has s switch for hardwood / carpet selection, which saves on the battery. I found that the carpet mode works well on rough tile when the hardwood would sometimes not. Does a good job on area carpets and throw rugs, (if they are not deep pile, of course). Gets people hair off carpets, but don't expect a stick vac to get much pet hair from a carpet.

- Has only a cloth cup filter, but that is fine for small bits of crumbs, dirt, and dust bunnies. Would not try picking up spilled flour, until I had gotten most of that with a broom and pan. Filter is easy to shake, but does make a bit of a mess to get completely claer of picked-up debris. It can be washed. If you cant stand to clean a filter, I would question how well you clean a house in the first place...

- assembles easily: the bolt in the handle has a recessed design that is nice - you don't see it after it is in.

- Handle comes off to make a very usable hand-vac pretty good for stairs.

CONS: - The handle wobbles a bit where it goes into the vac body. No trouble yet, but a little less quality than the recessed bolt design - looks like two different grades of engineers worked on this design!

- To get most suction from the small motor, the vac rides very close to the floor, so anything larger than a large bread crumb will just scoot along on a slick floor. Sometimes backing up over it helps, but you do pay the price for it doing a better job on what it does well. Notice I still give it 4 stars.

Poor battery life.
March 4, 2016
When I first purchased it in April of 2014 it worked great, and I was able to vacuum my entire 1200 sq foot apt with one battery. I used it about twice a week on average or about every 3 to 4 days, alternating batteries.

Now over the last few months I've found I have to actually reset the batteries in the charger, other wise they don't stay charged. Not sure if it's an issue with the batteries going bad, but they should have a minimum of 3 years life, not half that.

I had reset the batteries in the charger two days ago to be able to vacuum today, made sure the charging lamp was flashing, and both batteries died within a minute.... very disappointed.
and I like having the extra battery so that a fresh battery ...
July 25, 2014
After reading countless reviews of cordless stick vacs, I finally opted for the Eureka primarily because I didn't want to spend $150. I should have remembered what my mama always told me, "You get what you pay for." It does a passable job of picking up dog hair and dirt, the battery gives a decent length of running time (so far), and I like having the extra battery so that a fresh battery is always ready to go. BUT this is basically a Dustbuster with a stick at one end and a roller brush at the other. The dust cup and filter look just exactly like a large Dustbuster. There is very little debris to dump after vacuuming my kitchen and dining room. Most of what has been picked up is clinging to the filter. You have to get up close and personal with the dirt and dog hair to clean the filter. Requires standing over the trash can with the filter in one hand and an old toothbrush in the other, brushing the filter until the dog hair and most of the dust are in the trash, except for the dust that flies around in the air during the process.

I had previously used (and loved) a Shark 2-in-1 for about 3 years. The dust cup and filter arrangement in that vacuum are great. The dirt, dog hair and other debris are contained in an easily emptied cup while the filter is a washable circular foam sponge the sits above the dust cup. In fact the whole cup, filter and filter holder can be washed. The Shark's problem is that the battery quits holding a charge after a few months use. I had a new battery pack built at a local battery store, but it also died after several months. The problem is the charger does not shut off after the battery is fully charging, causing the battery to burn out after a few months of being plugged in continuously. Remembering to unplug it after several hours is unrealistic. Because of my past battery experience, I decided to avoid another Shark, but now I am rethinking that decision.
NiCad batteries that are made in China
December 5, 2013
I was totally amazed to find out this uses NiCad batteries that suffer from battery memory and are horrid. I had to call Eureka and get new batteries sent, the first customer service agent was horrible and made me call back 24 hours later in the event the batteries suddenly started to work. NiCad batteries are horrible. The Vac itself is great, but the batteries make it not worth owning.

Among rechargeable battery technologies, NiCad rapidly lost market share in the 1990's, to NiMH and Li-ion batteries; market share dropped by 80% for good reason. With the battery technology today there is no reason Eureka should have used them except to be cheap.

After many successful orders with Amazon, I feel burned by this purchase. First, the vacuum was missing the long rod connecting the handle to the vacuum part. I followed instructions to contact the manufacturer, not Amazon, and ordered this part. A month later the part arrives and I try out the vacuum. Next, I find out the second battery doesn't hold a charge even though its been on the charger the entire time I was waiting for the missing part to ship. I contact Amazon stating my dissatisfaction at how I followed their instructions for missing pieces and now I cannot return this item. Amazon's response was to send me another vacuum that doesn't seem to clip together securely; I haven't even bothered to see if the batteries hold a charge. What did I learn about this experience? If it doesn't come with all the parts DO NOT follow Amazon's instructions to work with the manufacturer, just send it back or you'll be stuck with something that is just not worth the money.
Batteries useless after one year. No life expectancy here.
October 10, 2013
**Edit**
After having this thing for over a year I wanted to update. The batteries are now both useless, and as such this thing basically takes up space. I can use it to pick up small dry spills that only need 2 minutes to vacuum up before it sounds tired again. If you buy this, do so with the expectation of buying new batteries EVERY year, which I'm not willing to do. Also the charger no longer charges the battery in the vacuum (only the one in the charge spot) so charging isn't as convenient. I no longer use it and haven't touched it for 6+ months. It's just no good without decent batteries. It's a shame because I was very excited about this product in the beginning, but it just didn't last.

This vacuum is light weight and easy to use.
NOTE: The type of battery that this vacuum comes with is sensitive to being completely drained. Charge it for 16 hours before the first use (per manufacturer recommendations) and always plug it in to charge when it sounds like the battery is low BEFORE completely draining the battery. Do this and you will have the longest possible life from your battery. I was very careful and followed these rules, but still the life of my batteries was less than a year.

Pros:
Light weight
Cordless
Easy to use
Bagless
Two batteries (swap out and keep going, extends vacuum time). **Only good while the batteries lasted...
Charging dock charges both batteries and hangs on wall for easy storage. **This feature stopped working after 4 months.
Light on charging station tells you when batteries are still charging and another light to show charger is plugged in.

Cons:
Small dirt compartment, I just empty it often, not too big a deal.
Carpet wheel use kills battery much more quickly. I found this guy does a great job on carpet, but I avoid use of the wheel function on hardwood floors to conserve battery. I can get one large carpeted room done with the wheel setting, or three large rooms on just the vacuum setting. *Now I can only get a 2'x3' square of carpet before the battery dies.....
Carpet wheel/brush gets tangled with hair. This is typical of all vacuums with a carpet brush. I have long hair so I just cut it out every so often, no biggie.
Small wheels (for rolling) fill with cat hair. This is probably the most annoying con on the list.
Wish it had an attachment for small crevices.
Low suction power, just can't compare to my large vacuum in what it picks up. Once the batteries are low, it might sound like it is doing something, but it's not picking up a thing. You can keep your suction power up as high as possible by blowing out and cleaning the filter regularly (for example with an air compressor).

Due to poor life of the batteries and the fact that the charging feature stopped working, I would NOT recommend this product. 1 year is much to short a life for a product.

Lays flat to vacuum under furniture
Really decent suction
Easy to assemble

Easy to empty receptacle.

Cons:

Cloth filter is easily clogged and has to be washed with soap and water, then air dried before you can resume vacuuming
12 minute battery life may not be sufficient for everyone, however I have only found one cordless with a longer battery life.
My unit stopped charging after 7 uses, was returned as defective.
It is an extremely cheap product that has obviously low quality parts.

This may be a great vacuum for someone who doesn't have much dirt tracked in, it did excellent work at collecting cat hair but dirt clogged the filter every time I vacuumed my entry rug.

Started out good, went downhill fast

I originally gave this vacuum 4 stars but I am downgrading to one star. I purchased it at the end of the October and the vacuum already won't hold a charge.

The charger stopped working after 1 month of light use. I can't believe it. just past the return window!!!
Won't Hold a Charge!
June 23, 2014
First of all I read all the reviews and did lots of research before I purchased this. And at first I was thrilled with this little guy. Lightweight, perfect for stairs, ability to take off the handle. After only a few months, it won't hold a charge more than 3 minutes. I can't even get to the bottom of the stairs and it is dead. The charger works fine and says it is fully charged, but it doesn't hold the charge. I am so disappointed and wish I could return it. I also bought Bissell's Pet Vacuum for Hard Floors. It is corded and I use it on the main floor of the house. It has outstanding suction and now I will have to purchase another one to keep upstairs. Twice the suction on that vacuum, also lightweight and good on stairs. Buyer beware of this Eureka Quick Up.
Not Good for Homes with Young Children or Pets!!
June 11, 2014
I bought this vacuum to vacuum up Cheerios and bits of food underneath my child's high chair and to clean up kibble that my cats spill. This vacuum doesn't have any kind of clearance underneath it, so it just pushes Cheerios, food bits, and kibble around on the floor. It only vacuums them up if I pick up the vacuum and physically set it down on the Cheerio (food bit, or kibble). I don't have time to hunt down each individual Cheerio, food bit, or kibble and suck it up. So, this vacuum cleaner is pretty much worthless to me. I'm returning it and have already ordered a DustBuster to replace it. I don't recommend it for homes that have young children or pets.

Overpriced, low suction, batteries can not be charged too many times!

Hardly any suction! Batteries are very poor and can not be charged too many times before they will not take a charge!! You have to buy a lot of batteries to keep this going, but with the very low suction, it isn't worth the cost of buying more batteries. I would never consider buying any of their products ever again.
Unimpressive and Unsuitable for Pet Owners
December 1, 2015
I bought this hoping that it would be a more affordable replacement for a Shark Navigator cordless stick vacuum. I have been sorely disappointed.

I have a 100 pound Shepard who is a ferocious shedder. Even vacuums made for specifically for pet owners are no match for his constant shedding of dog hair. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that a Shark Navigator picked his hair up better than anything I have ever tried. I also found that cordless stick vacuums actually made vacuuming less of a chore since they are easier to manuever, don't require constant readjusting of the cord, and can easily clean my stairs. Once it came time to replace the Shark, I was a bit deterred by the price of another Shark and bought this Eureka instead after seeing the positive reviews.

I hate this thing. It barely picks up anything, and I find myself going over the same area, again and again, both on wood floors and on rugs. This vacuum was unable to pick up a leaf, a piece of garlic peel that was approximately the size of a dime, and forget about dog hair. Instead of pulling the dog hair up, it instead just pushes it around across the floor. It took me twice as long to vacuum as with the Shark since it couldn't scoop anything up. I eventually gave up and just started picking hair up with my hands. It feels rickety in my hand, unlike the Shark. I also found that dumping out the canister was a lot messier than with the Shark since you have to take the filter out to even empty the canister, which resulted in dander everywhere.

I do like that it came with an extra battery pack and that it takes up much less room than the Shark when charging. Maybe this vacuum is good for low need households, but this vacuum falls very short of the Shark and is not suitable for those in a constant battle with pet hair.
DO NOT BUY

I purchased this in October of 2013. Both of the included batteries no longer hold a charge. This is unacceptable.
Horrible battery life, bad charger design, poor suction

UPDATE 11/6/2013

I tried to return this today but I'm passed the return period, bummer. This thing is about to get trashed. My main purpose was to use on hardwood floors to vacuum up the little piles after sweeping or dusting/swiffering the floors. It can't pick up the fine dust, and anything heavier than a piece of sawdust doesn't get sucked up either, like carpet strands, food crumbs, etc. The most frustrating thing is that when you sit it on the charger it doesn't charge. If you wiggle it a little it can start, but the connection design must be flawed. Then it does charge and I get about a minute of use and it's dead again. The spare battery helps but it doesn't charge easily either. Maybe I should have gone with a corded model. This was has been super disappointing.

Original Review:

Overall I've been pretty impressed. I use this mostly on bare floors and it does a good job of sucking up almost everything. The brush roller feature is pretty good too. My only two gripes are that I wish the battery lasted a little longer, it seems to die somewhere within 5-10 minutes of use so you have to be quick or just use it on smaller areas. The model I bought on Amazon came with a spare battery though so that helps a lot. The second complaint is that the charging dock doesn't work very well. It's designed to hold the vacuum while charging it, and also the spare battery on the side while charging. I've found that even if you set them in carefully, sometimes there apparently isn't enough contact to charge them. So I've gone to grab the vacuum off the charger in the morning and the battery is dead, it was sitting on the charger but not charging. Same with the battery. Now when I put them on I try and wiggle them a little and look for the red light to flash, although it's not always clear if one or both are charging. If they could figure out the charging issues I'd give it 5 stars.
Waste of Money

I bought this with high expectations from all the positive reviews. I really tried to like it... But at the end of the day, it just doesn't pick everything up. I had to go over the same spots multiple times and eventually had to pick up bigger pieces with my hand. My $20 corded vacuum had better suction than this thing. It's nice that it's cordless, but usually battery operated things just aren't as powerful as electric. I used the vacuum for several days, and finally decided to return it. What's the point if I have to bend down pick things up, and keep going over the same places?
