Great when you know it's limitations
September 17, 2017
I just received one of these as a gift. It's a great little vacuum when used within it's limitations. Realize this isn't a replacement for your larger vacuum! The canister is simply too small and the brush roller doesn't fluff enough to really clean the carpet. However, it's great for mid-week touch ups. if you have a long-haired cat (or most any animal that sheds) you'll know exactly what I mean!

Another place this vacuum really shines is with it's size. It's very lightweight and easy to tote around the house. The end is fairly flat which allows me to get under most all my furniture. So whether it's the carpeted bedroom or the den with hardwood floors, I can get under (at least the edge of) all the furniture in these rooms without moving anything.

Now, it's clear the suction isn't anywhere near that of some larger vacuums, but I've yet to be disappointed in it. I've not noticed anything left behind. But even being "weak", the somewhat tiny canister fills up very quickly. Now per the instructions and labels, you are only to fill the canister about an 1/8th of the way up. At times, this may only take a few minutes! Once full, the canister does pop off fairly easily and dumps out without too much effort, but reinstalling can be a little tricky at first.

If you're just looking for a small vacuum to use between cleanings and for hard floors, this one is pretty hard to beat.
Love it!
March 29, 2017
I've had this vacuum cleaner for about 3 years now and use it to clean my hardwoods and area rugs. I love mine so much that my sister asked for it for Christmas. It works well on hardwoods or bare floor surfaces. Also works well on low pile area rugs. It also does a great job picking up dog hair. I'm not sure how good a job it would do on wall-to-wall carpet that is a deeper pile - I still use my big vacuum cleaner for that. But like I said, it does a great job sweeping up the dirt, dust and dog hair on bare floors or low pile area rugs - and it's light weight, so it's easy to use. I'm very happy with it.
Better than Expected :]
January 7, 2017
Got this product for my Grandma for Christmas. We are a large family with 5 dogs so she was constantly sweeping up crumbs and hair from the linoleum floor and area rugs in our kitchen and dining room. It does the job better that expected and swirls all the hair right up into the easy-to-empty canister better than our larger hoover we have does; even though it has a tile floor setting. Also is very light and turns with the flick of a wrist. All around I give this product 5 stars and would buy it again.

Also, I choose this version because my Grandpa hates to have to charge vacuums, it was a little cheaper than the cordless version and the cord is long enough to not have to re-plug for most cleaning situations.
Very effective on hard floors -- terrific value
June 3, 2016
Every once in a while, a product surprises me in a good way. This is one of them. This little vacuum cleaner works brilliantly on hard floors. We have three dogs and a lot of dirt. This picks up the dirt, the sand, the hair, the mess without complaint. I have not used it on rugs. On hardwood or linoleum, it's great. Easy to maneuver. Lightweight. VERY easy to empty and clean. The cord is long enough so I can vacuum my kitchen, hall and living room without moving the plug. I've paid a lot more and gotten much less. This is a very good value and a highly effective vacuum for hard floors.
Great performance for a modest price
April 6, 2016
Wow. I am impressed. I did not expect such great performance for such a modest price. It was easy to put together, one screw. I used it on the NoTrax mat that I have inside my door from the garage and I was amazed at what my hard floor no brush vacuum had left behind. I bought this vacuum for my mats and area rugs and I am sure glad that I did. It does not weigh much more than a 5 lb bag of sugar and it is super easy to maneuver. It did well on the bare floors with the brush turned off as well. It was also super easy to dump the dirt and fur out when I was done. Unlike my hard floor vacuum where you have to detach the bottom and then lift the handle and motor to dump the dirt with this one the dirt cup comes out easily and that is all you have to carry over to the trash. I highly recommend this little lightweight vacuum. It is certainly worth every penny I paid for it.
Highly recommended for apartments, seniors, and OCD
January 16, 2012
I recently conned my girlfriend's daughters into taking my beautiful and expensive upright as a gift for the townhouse they had just rented. They were amazed by my generosity. But I knew the truth. It was a heavy clunker that I was going to avoid using whenever possible.

I still needed something more than my DustBuster for my two-bedroom apartment. I decided that this Hoover was the one to have. When it arrived, I set it up in about a minute. This involves fitting three pieces together. It's hard to get it wrong. Then I tested it on everything I could find. I sucks up junk from low-pile carpeting and area rugs without a problem. I changed the switch setting, and it did the kitchen floor of linoleum with as much ease. I was sure it would miss the edges, but it actually did a pretty good job of cleaning. I was absolutely sure it wouldn't get the kitty litter that my girlfriend's cats had left in a bathroom, but it got that, too.

True, it doesn't come with accessories, so if you want to clean drapes and sofas, something else might be better. Anyone with a smaller living space should be using one of these. A full-blown vacuum might seem nice, but in the end it's just not worth hauling one of those things around just to clean an apartment. Any senior citizen should also consider using one of these. I live in a building with a lot of seniors, and a good electric broom like this is a simple way to make one's life a lot easier. If nothing else, you don't have to call your children and make them feel so guilty that they come over and vacuum for you.

And for anyone with OCD, this little gem is a real blessing. I have OCD friends who feel compelled to vacuum five and six times a day. They keep wondering why they feel exhausted. Might as well make the vacuuming experience an easy one. This Hoover will do that. If you've forgotten to take your meds and feel an overwhelming urge to vacuum, this is the vacuum you should be using.

By the way, I got my Hoover through the Amazon Warehouse. "Like new" condition meant it WAS new, except someone returned it. They probably weren't suffering from either age or OCD. I'm cheap, so I took advantage of the 10 percent discount.

UPDATE: the more I use this vacuum, the more fond of it I become. There are two points I would like to add to the above review. First, the head of the vacuum is designed so that I can easily slide it under beds and other furniture. In practice, this makes vacuuming hard to reach places much easier. Second, the cord is long enough that I have no trouble plugging it into a centrally located outlet and reaching every corner of my two-bedroom apartment. And the vacuum is unobtrusive enough that I can prop it up next to the plug and just leave it there until I need to vacuum again. All these little things add up so that housekeeping in general becomes a much more positive experience.

I hope this helps.

Excellent hand-held cordless vacuum!
June 8, 2017
I've been using this regularly for three years to vacuum loose dirt off hardwood floors in my place, and absolutely love how powerful this is for a cordless vacuum. It works well, is easy to clean and maintain, and performs reliably. I did have to buy replacement batteries recently, and here's what I purchased: Powerextra 2 Pack 2200mAh Eureka Replacement Battery 60776/68112/39150 for Eureka 96 Series VacuumsI've also replaced the filter one time with this: Genuine Eureka STK Filter 61544B - 1 filterAnother really nice convenience is that, while charging, the red light on the recharging unit blinks, and when its full charged, turns solid red, so you know it's charged. Very nice design. The only real very minor note I want to make is that at one point I thought that the batteries had died, but, I believe now, in fact, the battery had just dislodged itself. I've noticed that, while using, sometimes the battery will dislodge and the vacuum will cut off. I then just press down on the top of the battery, to make sure its seated properly in the vacuum. It's hard to fault the vacuum for such a minor detail, however, as when I use the vacuum, I really swing this little guy around. Plus, the battery pack is really convenient to be able to insert and remove, and it only becomes dislodge with alot of great force.
Just sweepin my life away!
January 22, 2016
Almost 70, and can't believe I haven't gotten one of these before now!
This little sweeper is a real time and work saver. I use it primarily on my kitchen floor(hardwood with a few throw rugs, big country kitchen) and it really makes cleanup fast. I have never run the battery down so I can't say how long it lasts, but they say 18 or 20 minutes. You would be surprised how much ground you can cover in less time than that.
My hardwood floor accumulates a large amount of dust, popcorn chips, cat food crumbs, grand kids cookie crumbs, lint, and any number of other small bits in a very short amount of time. So I end up using this thing at least a couple of times a day. I used to use a dust mop then have to pick up the pile. This thing makes life much easier. I also have a cat that is nearly as old as I am(Max is his name) and I was surprised at the amount of cat hair that was on that floor that I didn't know about. This sweeper cleans it right up and I was amazed at how much there was. Glad I bought it, just for that. There is a setting for rugs(just activates the spinning brush) and does a great job of the throw rugs I mentioned earlier.

I mounted the charger on the wall in my laundry room right next a power outlet. The sweeper just hangs there in it's nifty little holder charger, inconspicuously out of the way and always charged and ready to go. It's light weight and great for old people as well as young, and saves me from getting out the big vacuum. I still use the big vacuum, just don't need to as often as I used to.

We'll see how long it lasts, but it has already saved me enough work and aggravation with the big vacuum that I figure it has paid for itself and everything else is gravy.

When it goes, if it goes(before I do) I will certainly buy another.
Oh! and nobody gave me nothi'n for this review.
Purrfect for cat hair and litter
October 28, 2015
Debated about which cordless vacuum to get and this one was so affordable! I just moved into an apartment with hardwood floors and my two feline children love to fling cat litter around. Once I saw somebody specifically mention it's perfect for cat litter, I purchased it. I let it charge for 24 hours and just ran it through my apartment (which is small, ran it for less than 10 minutes and battery survived the whole time). I think it worked hardcore on my carpet because it seemed to have found another cat (see photo!). Would recommend for sure.
I want to add a tip, if you're looking for something to pick up big things, this probably isn't the best vacuum for you. It's more for picking up hair and dirt and little pieces of things. I got this a couple of months ago and it still works. I still love it because I'm too lazy to use a plug in vacuum. I run it every other day or so to pick up cat litter.
A must for animal owners
October 18, 2015
If I could give this 10 stars I would. I have a hairy, hairy dog and hardwood floors. I am not a clean freak. This stick vacuum is perfect for picking up the dog hair. No, it will not clean your floor spotless, but it will make it presentable. I LOVE mine. It's so light weight and easy to just run over the kitchen floor once. You will not be sorry. It makes normal noise for a dustbuster/stick vac. I bring that up because I have another one that sounds like a jet engine- I can't even use it I feel like it's damaging my ears. This one, normal, expected noise level. The charging station can be mounted to the wall and mine seems to go for quite some time before it needs to be charged. You open it and dump the dirt out. I think the stick detaches as well, but I have never done that.
Replaced 2009 Model and Is Still A Great "Dustbuster On a Stick"
September 9, 2015
Bought this to replace a 2009 model (purple) that didn't charge properly. Over the 6 years we owned it we replaced the battery every 2 years which is expected of NiCad batteries. This time it was the charger base and that is $22, so might as well buy new model. This model is virtually identical in design. They both use NiCad batteries and claim a 12 minute run time. We use this for our kitchen floor and the oriental carpets at the front door. It does a fine job picking up small debris/dirt/hair. Be aware that the unit uses small rubber rollers (no height adjustment) and probably rides less about 1/16" off the floor. In other words, it won't ride over top of Cheerios and larger debris, but if you lift it it would have no problem inhaling those items.
The old model used a simple "trickle" charger design that really isn't good for NiCads. The new design uses a smart charger that shuts off once charging is complete, this should be better for NiCad life. There are two red LEDs on the charging base. The right one is always on and simply indicates that the power block is plugged in and the unit is receiving power. The left LED is normally off, but when you plug in the vacuum (or set a battery in the charging base), the LED will flash while the battery is re-charging. Once re-charged, the LED goes off. Used the unit for 10 minutes and the re-charge time is many hours. This is not a 1-hour Li-Ion charge like a cell phone or cordless drill.
Upon receipt, you must initially charge the unit for 14 to 16 hours to provide a full initial charge. I then ran for ten minutes on carpet (with brush on) and on vinyl floor (brush off) and then placed back on charger for a good overnight charge. It took over 4 hours to re-charge. I have also placed the 2 year-old battery from the old unit on the charging base and charged it overnight. One thing, when both vacuum w/battery and 2nd battery are placed on charging base, the left LED will flash until BOTH batteries are charged and you really don't know which has finished first...
The dust cup on this model is clear so it makes it easy to see when the cup is full or the filter needs cleaning. The brush does a fairly good job beating/lifting the carpet nap, but this unit is not corded and therefore it is not anywhere near as powerful as a corded unit.
One final thing, don't even bother comparing to a Dyson cordless. The Dyson is a whole different animal from battery through motor and cost 10X the amount. The best way to think of this unit is "Dustbuster on a Stick" and is a good unit for the price. I expect it to be as reliable as the 2009 model it replaces.

Love It - Better than my heavy Hoover
April 29, 2017
I've had this vacuum for a little over a year. My house has mostly laminate flooring with a few low nap area rugs and I use this vacuum literally every single day. I have to because there are also 7 cats who live and she'd here. Between cat hair and tracked litter, this vacuum gets a work 9ut and keeps on going. I love that it's so lightweight yet powerful. There's no problem transitioning between rugs and hard flooring. Cleaning it is a breeze except for the brush. I took one star off because the brush is hard to access to clean hair out of it. Also, where the cord attaches to the base, the rubber grommet came loose exposing part of the electrical cord; I wrapped electrical tape on it to prevent any problems with it. I really like that the canister base has only 2 parts and you can easily empty it out and then wash it. It's a lot of vacuum for a very small price.
Great little vacuum, Kids can use
June 3, 2016
This is a very good vacuum. It works great on our laminate flooring. I have cats who end up tracking litter in the laundry room and this picks up the pieces nicely. It is small, lightweight, easy to use, and picks up small items with ease. I can move it around the house with ease, and the cord (though not super long) is long enough to cover my whole living room. Granted, it isn't a huge living room, but if you have an apartment or small house then it should be fine, ours is 1600 square feet. I give it four stars only because it does have trouble in some of the corners and edges if the items are really tiny (like sugar or crushed graham cracker). I have three children also, and it is so nice to have with them. My older children (8 & 11) can use it with ease.
Know what you are buying - Not right for everyone
December 8, 2013
I love this little vacuum. However, its not a "normal" vacuum. It has no attachments and has a *!VERY!* small dust chamber. You MUST keep an eye on the dust chamber while vacuuming and empty it as soon as the dustball starts catching instead of spinning smoothly... otherwise the thing will clog up. You also have to be very careful to pick up any little pieces of paper or anything on the floor before vacuuming or it will clog up.

The first time I used this, the vacuum clogged up and stopped working before I got though a single room. I was so distraught. I had no idea why it had broken already until I read the directions and saw they say to take the head off of the vacuum and manually clean it out every time you empty the bin! It took 3 tries and a wire coat hanger to unclog the thing.

Once I understood how this thing worked, I kept an eye on the bin as I vacuumed and dumped it in the nearest trash every time it needed. It takes me about 4 dumps to vacuum my bedroom weekly (but I have 3 cats and 1 is a shedder). Since dumping the bin often enough, I haven't had to take the head off to clean it out.

Why in the world would I give this 4 stars you must be wondering! Well, I can't afford to buy an expensive vacuum and this it the most powerful vacuum I've ever owned. I bought this to replace a vacuum that worked fine but was very heavy. The first time I vacuumed what looked like a pretty clean carpet, I literally got a basketball-sized bunch of dust and hair out of a single bedroom!!! I was extremely shocked and disgusted by what my other vacuum had been leaving behind.

It sounds really strange to have to turn it off and dump the bin every few minutes when vacuuming, but it only takes a few seconds and I have trash cans in every room. If you wanted to, you could always carry a mini trash bag with you as you vacuum then tie it off and throw away all of the dust at once.

Its a minor trade-off to have an affordable vacuum that really cleans my carpets and keeps all of that dust and hair out of my air. The air in my apartment is crisper since getting this vacuum and I didn't even notice a problem before buying it. I also think I'll have to dust less often since most of the dust is going in the trash that used to just sit on my carpet and get picked up by my fan.

---

If you don't have the money for an expensive vacuum, don't mind the little trade off of having to dump it more often and you hate the idea of tons of dust, dirt, hair, and bacteria just accumulating in your home, this is the vacuum for you.

If you have a very large home or just want something to pick the visible bits of stuff off of your floors, you'll probably want a different vacuum.
Serves me Well!
September 10, 2013
I have owned 3 Cordless Vacuum (Ergorapidos) and I really love them ... UNTIL ... the battery starts to poop out. Then it doesn't matter how long you charge them, the charge wears out real quick. Unfortunately, there is NO way to replace the battery and you have to purchase another unit.

This Hoover Stick Vac although not cordless works very well for my needs. I have wooden floors and area rugs and it works on them just fine. NO ... IT WILL NOT WORK ON THICK PILE CARPETS ... so don't even consider it if that's what you're planning on using it on.

My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is the lack of cord length. Another 10' and it would be perfect for my needs.

Although I bought it soley (sp?) for that quick pickup and doing a room at a time, I have used it to vacuum an entire 1800 sq house and it works fine.

As it is, I rarely use my more expensive Miele vacuum cleaner which to me hands down is the best vacuum cleaner one can buy.

But for less than 100 bucks .... this thing has exceeded my expectations ..... that's just my op.
Great Stick Vacuum - Update after 4 Years of use...
February 3, 2013
This is the best investment I've made in a small, lightweight vacuum! I have owned several small, lightweight vacuums over the years and have been disappointed with them for various reasons; poor performance, difficulty in handling, clumsy bag/canister emptying, noise, etc...
I admit vacuuming is a chore, a necessary evil in keeping the house clean. I dread breaking out our existing big "Beast" for vacuuming. This vacuum is excellent! It more than meets our needs for vacuuming on a regular basis. Performance on our hardwood floors is great. For our carpet, I was impressed. After vacuuming with our Thermax (expensive water filter unit), I re-vacuumed with the Hoover Stick (brush turned ON) and was surprised at how much the other vacuum left behind!
Emptying and cleaning the dirt canister is easy, Removal and cleaning of the foam filter pad is also easy. The long cord is a nice touch and the vacuum is lightweight and easy to maneuver.
Be aware the stick vacuum requires frequent emptying, an easy trade-off for the ease in handling and performance. Dog hair, cat hair, general dirt and grass cuttings are no challenge for this Hoover, for any floor I've used it on, including hardwood, tile, vinyl or carpet.

6/20/2016 Update
Had to drop one star as Vacuum "bit the dust" after 4 years of service. Maybe I am too optimistic to expect 7-10 years of use, but 4 years seems a little short. HOWEVER, this is a good choice as even to it's dying day, it lived up to the expected performance with everything described in the original review holding true. Hope the identical replacement Hoover we just ordered lasts more than 4 years...
May Be Good Enough To Be Your Primary Vacuum
December 26, 2011
We bought this Hoover Corded Cyclonic Stick Vacuum about two months ago, and it has become our favorite for almost all of our vacuuming. The floors in our house are all hardwood, but we do have area rugs in several rooms. This Hoover vacuum does a great job on the hardwood as well as the rugs. It has plenty of brush action to beat the rugs hard enough to loosen dirt and pick up pet hair, and it has enough suction to pick up most any kind of loose, dirty debris on hardwood.

We bought this particular Hoover vacuum for a couple of reasons. First, it is the twin of the Hoover Linx, a battery-powered vacuum which we also own, and it is much cheaper than the Linx. We love the battery powered version of this vacuum, but it is only good for jobs lasting 10-12 minutes or so before it needs a recharge. We still use the battery powered version, but now it only gets the really quick, small jobs like scattered cat litter. The second thing that sold us on this vac was (were?) the many favorable reviews on Amazon. Everyone seemed to love this vacuum.

But as you might expect, nothing is perfect, including this Hoover. First, this thing is loud. I mean jet-engine-takeoff loud (well, almost). When someone in the house is vacuuming, conversations and TV watching stop until the vacuuming is finished, even if it is in another room. That can be really irritating. Second, the cord is short. Much shorter than you normally find on a full size vacuum. And third, the width of the area that this vacuum cleans is only about 10 inches. That means a lot of back-and-forth arm-pumps across a big area rug to vacuum it completely. But, maybe that is to be expected with a stick vac.

So, here's my bottom line on this Hoover. It does our vacuuming chores almost as well as our much heavier, much bigger Eureka Boss, but only weighs a fraction as much. Yeah, it has a couple of drawbacks, but, I would buy this Hoover again in a heartbeat.

Great for in-between cleanings!
February 22, 2016
I got this for "in between" cleans on my vinyl plank flooring and tile floors. So far, I love it.

Pros:
- Lightweight and easy to use. My 4 year-old loves using it, and I certainly don't mind getting some help from my kids.
- Easy option for charging. I prefer to remove the battery and charge the battery, but there's a mount option that allows you to plug the entire unit onto the charger (this option makes more sense for a wall-mounted charger set up).
- No cord to fumble with, plug in, unplug, untangle, etc.
- Reasonable battery life. Since this is only for my downstairs and between major cleanings, it usually lasts as long as I need it to before the battery needs recharging.
- Cleans the messes I need it to! I got this for picking up crumbs. I've got three young kids and there are always crumbs on the floor after meals. This has saved me from getting on my hands and knees and a using a dustpan to clean under the table. This does not pick up larger, moist foods, though.
- Beater brush works surprisingly well on carpet and rugs. I was thrilled to see how well this picked dog hair off the carpet on my stairs! Again, I use this as an in-between cleanings with my Dyson and for quick pick-ups. Using this on the stairs compared to a full size vacuum is, of course, like a dream. Super light-weight and no cord features make it perfect.
- Small and stores well. This unit will stand up on its own, unlike a large, heavy vacuum that might have tendency to tip over. Slim enough to store in tight spaces.

Cons:
- Does not pick up well against walls/edges. I have no trick for getting around this issue other than sweeping out messes away from edges (like under lower kitchen cabinets) and then vacuuming. I find that it really doesn't pick up anything that is within an inch from the wall, no matter what angle you come in at.

Other than that one issue, I have no major complaints. This is not a vacuum for all jobs! It's been a great replacement to sweeping and wonderful to do quick pick ups on rugs and carpets without bringing out the big guns. This isn't really any more powerful than a handheld vacuum, so come in with reasonable expectations and you'll be happy with it. The larger head provides more efficient vacuuming for larger areas than your typical hand-held and if you have young kids, you might actually get help with some light vacuuming. Seize that opportunity, parents!
For what you pay, it's great value!
August 23, 2015
For what you pay, it's great value. We have a Dyson but I hate dragging that up from the basement to use - we have 2 young kids and this is perfect for a post dinner quick clean up vacuum, or in the winter if you've trod in a bunch of salt and grit from outside.
Would I use it to deep clean my whole house? Definitely not.
Could I use it to pick up crumbs and food post dinner or dust balls from the rug or under the couch? Yes.
It is not a heavy duty vacuum. It's light weight so you can also use it to vacuum your stairs too - providing they aren't crazy dirty. Does the battery last a long time? No, not really if you use it as much as we do. This isn't the one with an additional battery either, so I recommend picking another one up when you buy it. It's also light enough to get the kids involved in helping to clean up! :)
I'm actually posting this review now as I grab another one of these!
Great value for the price - will purchase another
December 10, 2014
ONE YEAR UPDATE: Battery lasted about a year and is completely dead as of July 2015. In defense of the product, I noted when I returned from a 10 day trip that our live-in pet sitter had this in a corner and NOT on the charger... possibly for the whole 10 days, and maybe depleted it completely before leaving it there. I liked this so much that I'm looking to purchase another of the same. I'm noting that the price has about doubled from $15.99 when I purchased to $30 now. May still be a good value when comparing to other cordless stick options, plus "known vs unknown" factor is big for me.
_____________________
Very good for the price. I've had this vac for 5 months now. The battery life is excellent. I purchased exclusively to pick up the scattered litter from our cat, but I'm preparing to purchase another because it's so small and convenient. Like most stick vac's you have a dust cup to keep clean - this one is easy to clean and dries quickly when rinsed out [which I do every 2 weeks or so since I used daily]. The waste receptacle is nice and large, so you can actually get away with cleaning it every few times used. The suction is best when the dust cup is just cleaned.. but still good after 2-3 light uses. I did note when I first got this that the suction to pick up litter and other small scraps is not very good if you don't have the brush bar switched on. The good news is that the spinning brush doesn't seem to kick particles back towards your feet like my others have. So, for that reason, when I first used it I considered returning, but for under $20 [paid $16] I'm happy I kept it. The hanging hardware is incorporated with the charger mechanism, and you also have the convenience of pulling the battery out [which is easy/nice design] if you have space to mount the charger, but not enough space to hang the vac. I've used this both ways - battery pull out, into charger, and back into vacuum is a swift one-handed easy operation.
ALMOST absolutely love it! You'll still need your Dustbuster though
February 10, 2012
This little vacuum is almost perfect for my needs. It has a decently long charge, it picks up very well on my wood floors, area rug and carpet on the stairs. I can get though most of it on 1 charge. The only thing that what somewhat disappointing was that with it being a 2 in 1, I thought I could remove the lower portion to be used as a Dustbuster type vacuum as I was going along. Welllllll, that's not really the case. The 2 in 1 means the handle can be taken off. There is a handle to hold the lower part when detached, but it is as you see in the picture. There is no taking the bottom part with the beater bar out of the unit. There are no attachments to get into tight spots. It doesn't work at all on furniture. It does work really well on the stairs though.

For the price, I would still recommend it. But if you want a true 2 in 1 vacuum, this isn't going to fit the bill.

Oh, and make sure the battery is seating in the unit correctly. Otherwise it doesn't charge properly and then you get to call customer service. Hopefully you won't get the same guy I did.......
So Happy! Just what I was looking for

I am very happy with this little mini Vac. I charged it for a full 14 hours before using it the first time as I've read. Did my whole upstairs (hardwood throughout) and my stairs (carpet runner)I was pretty happy with that! It is NOT for heavy vacuuming...won't pick up cheerios people (which is why it got 4 stars instead of 5!! Its perfect for crumbs, dog hair and dust bunnies which used to be my problem but now I can quickly take care of it without having to drag out the big vacuum AND no tripping over the darned cord!!

Another plus, it fits under the bed which if you have hardwood floors, you know you get dust bunnies under there fairly quickly.

Worked better than I thought it would on the carpets. Love that it doesn't suck the edges of the carpet up into the vac...but it manages to pick up the mess...

Also I read about the mess emptying and basically its fine - just put the cup INSIDE the trash when you pull it out - If your trash is full - empty it first or you will have a mess.

Can't say enough about this - If you have the problems I described above - Go for it you will be happy!

You get what you pay for
May 19, 2017
The old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. It's a very low price. And it gets up some cat hair and dust. But it doesn't always get everything on the first pass. After one go through my house (2000sqft mostly hardwood and area carpets) I had to take it apart and clean out the hair that had wrapped around the brush. It doesn't have an easy access for that, so I had to get out a screwdriver. (Note to Hoover: a little lever to open that panel and access the brush would make this weekly job easier.) It doesn't have great suction, but what do you expect for under $50! It's good for touch up, but won't replace a regular vacuum or shop vac. It's also lightweight and easy to clean out the canister.
OK but needs attention after each use
June 7, 2016
Light weight, does pick up all sorts of fuzzy stuff (Toy Poodles DO shed; sigh), does not do well along borders and won't go under furniture (you need a Swiffer for that). Minuses: for some reason, the handle turns the cleaner slightly left or right whether or not you intend to do this; you have to remove the canister (took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to do this) after each use to empty it; the filter is filthy right away, not sure if it can be washed but certainly not going to purchase more of them; the rotor (rotating brush) has NO WAY of being easily detached to remove long hair or threads, you have to do this manually and using scissors. It's just ok; once a month, the old vacuum has to come out (and I now live in a one bedroom apartment, if I were still in my house this thing would have been returned).
Gets the job done
May 2, 2016
I bought this because I have a lot of dog fur on my hardwoods, and a rug in the living room. It has two switches carpet and hardwood. I thought it was working fine at first on the wood, then I noticed fur around the edges of vacuum so I lifted it up and saw that the fur was only being collect not sucked up. The vacuum has small velvet like trim that the hair was sticking to. It did do great on picking up small debris. I now use the vacuum on carpet mode on the wood, it's does not kick back anything and it allows the fur to be sucked up, it works well on my rug. Thought is would have more power doesn't pick up my dog food. Overall it gets the job done and my house has stayed cleaner and pet fur free! P.S. I bought this from Amazon warehouse for $42 with no defects!! It looked brand new, I was very impressed I will definitely buy from the warehouse again for the price!
Hoover disappoining on tile floors with fur and cat litter
August 5, 2015
Good vacuum, but I was disappointed. I did a lot of research and hoped to find "the one" vacuum for my hard floored condo. This vacuum came with mostly raving reviews, and since it is a trusted brand, I decided to give it a go. To make this review shorter, I will just list the pro and cons.
Pro:
Easy to handle (I am a body able person with no disability, so this vacuum is very easy for me to carry up and down the stairs and maneuve. Weight was not something I considered when I was looking for vacuums, and this vacuum by no means is feather light.)
The pivot of the base is great. Again, refer to the point above
Has 2 settings, one for carpet (which I don't have), and another for hard floor.
Very easy to clean and disassemble/ reassemble
It looks great in my opinion. Sleek and sturdy.
Cons:
It does not have a detachable hose or any apparatus for getting into small spaces.
It does not work as well as I expected. - this is the main disappointment. We have 2 different type of tile in the condo, and this vacuum works better on the one with thinner grout than the more uneven surface. Also we have 3 furry pets. The vacuum works relatively well in picking up hair HOWEVER after half of a room I would need to pick up and turn over the vacuum to manually pull out and clean the hairs/fur that's sticking to the side and the brush of the base. This need to be repeated at least 10-12 times during the cleaning process for our 3 bed 2.5 bath place (it is not a big place). So instead of all the hair going into the center dirt collection bin, about 1/3 actually are trapped to the bottom of the vacuum and need to be manually pulled out/off.
It need multiple passes to pick up small leaves, pet food derbies, and even with that, maybe only 80% are actually picked up.
It picks up only about 20-30% cat litter after multiple passes. (Of course all of my %s are rough estimates, but you get the point). For the litter, I have given up and resort instead to the broom.
It is not good at cleaning in tight corners and against wall edges. I have started to use another vacuum with a hose attachment to finish up rooms.

TL;DR: if you are looking for a only vacuum for all tile floors, especially tiles that are not squares with small seams, this is not the vacuum for you. If you are like me, need something heavy duty for a house full of pets, this is not for you. If you are looking for a vacuum for lighter (perhaps daily pickups) cleanings around the house, this is an easy to handle and cute vacuum for that.
FILTER ON THE BOTTOM UNDER THE FLOOR PLATE THAT HAS 7 SCREWS
March 18, 2014
THE VACUUM WORKS GREAT, COMPACT SIZE, STANDS ALONE, PICKS UP DOG AND CAT HAIR, WORKS IN SMALL PLACE LIKE IN OUR CAMPER UNDER THE TABLE, AIM HEAD AGAINST WALL TO PICK UP ITEMS ALONG BASEBOARD, EVEN ON THROW RUGS WITHOUT PULLING THEM UP. ITS ONLY PROBLEM IS THIS, WHEN IT WON'T PICK UP ANYTHING AND SHOOTS IT OUT THE BACK IN SMALLER PIECES. THE CLEAR CONTAINER IS EMPTY, THE SPONGE IN THE TOP IS CLEAN, THE RED TWIST CONE IS CLEAN AND IT STILL WON'T PICK THINGS UP. WHAT WE NEVER KNEW IS THERE IS AN INTAKE HOLE ON THE BOTTOM COVERED BY THE FLOOR PLATE AND 7 SCREWS. TAKE OFF THE 7 SCREENS AND THE PLATE AND LOW AND BEHOLD THERE IS THE INTAKE HOLE WHICH CAN GET REALLY CLOGGED. TRY THIS WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS AND YOU'LL BE IN LIKE WITH THIS VACUUM AGAIN :) WE WANT HOOVER TO CHANGE THE FLOOR COVER TO CLEAR SO WE CAN SEE THE INTAKE HOLE AND USE LESS, LESS SCREWS. IF THIS WAS FIXED, WE'D GIVE THIS VACUUM 5 STARS. HAVE USED OTHER BRANDS AND REALLY LIKE THIS ONE INSTEAD OF OUR LARGER CANISTER MODEL.

Served its purpose but...
February 3, 2017
I purchased this item to keep tidy a carpeted area that was less than 250 ft square. It was sufficient for the task, even slightly impressive in its ability to grab hair, etc. (although it was not a high traffic area so hair, lint, etc was minimal). But given that I only vacuumed this room twice a month, I'm disappointed that the battery started dying just after month 5 (or 10 vacuums into its life). After that I had to recharge midway thru & as time went on, would have to recharge three times, just to do a small room. By the time I got my real vacuum out of storage a year after purchasing/using this item, it only held a charge for 2 mins or so at a time and was good for nothing.
At first, this vacuum literally sucks...then it figuratively sucks as the battery quickly dies
February 19, 2015
This vacuum is great overall, but fair warning that the battery life is extremely poor. I've had 3 of these so far and I've managed to make each successive one last longer than the previous one. My first vacuum wouldn't hold a charge after about 9 months...the second after 12 months.....and this last one about 2 years.

You're probably wondering "why do you keep buying it?" Well, each time I've gotten it, it's been as part of a flash deal for just over $20. A new battery costs about the same (if not more), so I figured I'd just get a whole new vacuum. Right out of the box, this thing is better than cordless electric sweepers that cost $50-70....I've tried a bunch.

You can extend the lifespan of the battery by removing it from the charger after it's fully charged. Also, fully drain the battery before you recharge it. With my first vacuum, I just left it sitting on the charger constantly. With my second, I would remove it from the charger after it was charged, but I would recharge it after every use. With my third, .....well, you get the idea.

If you get this on sale and you're willing to put up with the headache of removing it from the charger, you really can't beat this vacuum. Otherwise, you should steer clear.....

There are no deals for this right now, and I can't honestly justify paying $35 for one of these, so I think it's time to move onto a new vaccum....
So wonderful and easy until it died
June 1, 2014
We have a 1600sq foot house 2 toddlers and 2 cats. When we put our house up for sale I had no desire to pull the big vac out every morning before work to vacuum the whole house before work. I thought about a Swiffer sweeper but they are only guaranteed to run 12 minutes and cost $45! This thing was amazing. I could do the floors, couches and area rugs without skipping a beat and without losing suction. The battery also made it through all 1600sq ft. Now don't get me wrong this is not my house cleaning vacuum. It was just my quickie, catch the cat hair balls, and food on the floor vacuum but it would last as good 25-30 minutes and I bet it would go longer.

**UPDATE**
Well 11 months later of daily use; I continued to use it at the new house to clean the tile and hard wood in the new house, the vacuum would die seconds after turning it on. I called the manufacturer and was sent a new battery but my electrical engineer husband said the battery wasn't the issue, in his opinion. New battery lasted several minutes longer but now after the warranty has expired I have a dead vacuum and 2 junk batteries. I honestly think they knew the motor was about to poop out on me but since I was so close to the end of my warranty they would just send me a $3 battery to "kill time."

All in all it was a good vacuum. I'd say in the 12-13 months I owned it I used it close to 400 times which adds up to about 950 hours of use so for the price I might just buy another. Unless I find an awesome deal on a Dyson and a few $100s in a parking lot.
Handy but doesn't last
January 14, 2014
We bought this just to do quick pick-ups on our hardwood floors. It works really well for that kind of job. These are the pros and cons:
-It's a little tough to get the cup back in to the vacuum after you have emptied it but you can get the hang of it after a few attempts. (Put the rubber seal at the bottom of the cup in first)
-After about 6 months, the battery stops holding a full charge. So you will be able to use it but battery charge won't last long enough to get the whole job done anymore. So, you can either buy a new battery or a new vacuum.
-It is so much handier than dragging out the big vac or even the canister that replacing it more often is not that terrible and the price is great.
Here's the nitty gritty!
April 21, 2012
I have a love/hate relationship with this vacuum cleaner. There are great things about it, and horrible things about it. I will break them both down for you but first I will tell you a little about my home. It is about 2300Sq ft. It has 3 most common floor times. Hardwood, tile, and plush carpet. I bought this vacuum for my new home because it was appealing on many levels. It was small, lightweight and cordless.

The Pros: This vacuum is small, lightweight, and cordless. It is easy to assemble and virtually goes anywhere! It's a lot quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner. Heck it's so small and compact even my toddler enjoys using it (Woohoo!). It is also pretty easy to empty!

The Cons: The battery life only allows me to vacuum about 2-3 rooms at a time on a full charge, and about 1 room on a partial charge. The suction isn't the greatest, and you can FORGET picking up anything that isn't dust or hair. It has trouble vacuuming up anything dime sized or bigger. You can also forget trying to vacuum anything on thicker carpets.

In the end, it's not a bad buy for the price.. However, it could definitely use room for improvement. I find that it's best to use on a daily basis to keep the dust off the hardwood floors to prevent the dreadful dirty feet. It is great when used in addition to a regular sized vacuum. I use my Eukera stick vacuum daily for the dust and hair, and my traditional oreck twice a week for the bigger stuff, and a deeper clean especially on the carpets. If you are looking for a main vacuum, a vacuum you can buy and it does it all.. This is not for you. If you are looking for something in addition to your main vacuum for little jobs without having to lug out the big guy, then this is for you!

It is lightweight and easy to use
September 10, 2017
I bought this vacuum based on the positive reviews. It is very weak and struggles to pick up anything heavier than dust. It is lightweight and easy to use, but it won't get your house clean at all. It is really useless on bare floors. It does a little better on carpet. I don't recommend this vacuum.
Great at first...
November 30, 2016
I loved this vaccum at first! It picked up everything, was easy to empty, great with hair! And it's so light. Would be perfect for people with back problems and the elderly. However I've had it a year now recently it's decided to not fully suck everything up so when your done and you turn it off all of the dirt falls back out! It's SO annoying!! I have to get my broom out to sweep up the pile left...so it's kinda pointless! (I have majority hardwood and some carpet)
Not the greatest suction but decent
July 6, 2016
I think this works decently for wood floors. Not the greatest suction but decent. If you have heavy objects (I.e. Small rocks from your shoes, debris, etc) it struggles to lift them off the floor. It is nice that it doesn't kick the debris that it can pick up behind the vacuum. I wouldn't buy it again if I had the choice.
Barely OK
April 1, 2016
I have been using this for quite a few months now and it has some flaws. I have 3 dogs and when you set it for hardwood the hair clogs up so bad on the roller that you have to stop every few minutes and clean the roller out or it drops big clumps on the floor. Same thing on carpet. The other thing that is extremely irritating is that the dirt and hair goes up into the top portion and wraps itself around the cylinder. There is only one spot where you can get in (with tweezers and two fingers) to pull it all out. Usually takes around 15 minutes to clean it out because it is so difficult. I dump the dirt cup the minute it starts to look full so this is not a result of waiting too long. I bought the corded model because it would have more suction but it is not even real good at picking up dirt without hair being involved. I vacuum with my large Hoover twice a week (love it) so my problem is not caused by trying to use this as a regular vacuum. The filter is easy to clean and the cord is nice long but I am not real pleased with the product and I hate to say that because I have always bought Hoover.
POOR CONSTRUCTION/WARRANTY
September 17, 2014
Purchased this only 4 months ago for my daughter's tiny efficiency apt. after much research and reading many reviews. I have owned many Hoover's over the years and was expecting quality. I was looking for something compact, yet powerful and efficient on both hard surfaces and low pile carpet. It does a good job as far as suction. However, construction is poor. The internal spring on the button that holds the removable dirt cup onto the vacuum has popped off (it is visible through the clear plastic but inaccessible because it is one solid sealed part) so it will no longer attach to the vacuum. It has been removed no more than a measly 5 times since I bought it. I called Hoover and was informed THAT was NOT a covered warranty part and it would be 28.00 to replace the dirt cup.... 1/3 of what I paid for the entire vacuum 4 months ago... Ridiculous, but stuck between a rock and a hard place.. I now have an almost new vacuum that I've had to strap the cup on to with rounds of tape. That's the only way it can be used at all until the part arrives in 7-10 days. I've read other reviews that have had the same issue. POOR DESIGN, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE/WARRANTY. I would not recommend.

**UPDATE** My daughter has had this vacuum in her efficiency dorm apt. for 2 years now.. It is great in terms of space saving and initial suction is good when empty. However it is HORRIBLE in terms of requiring CONSTANT MAINTENENCE for suction. The small dirt cup requires continual emptying but most importantly the inner cylinder is quickly wrapped with hair/debris (paticularly if you have long hair, and/or a pet..She has a small short haired puppy that sheds minimally) during each use, requiring disgusting hands on removal each use or there is little vaccuum suction and is a waste of effort.

Post-morteum review
August 22, 2016
This is going into the trash today so I thought I'd provide a review of its full lifetime performance. First, if you have shedding pets I don't recommend this stick vac. We have two mid-sized double-coated (e.g., heavy shedding) dogs and in no time the hair had completely gunned up the tiny "wheels" meaning when pushed over a smooth surface this left behind black marks where the wheels weren't turning. The brush in the vacuum cannot be easily (or at all?) removed but I would use scissors to remove dog hair. It's also not particularly effective for picking up larger items, like a cheerio. It is decent when working for vacuuming an entry way (dirt) or stairs. The biggest issue is how quickly the vacuum stops accepting a charge. It made it almost exactly two years in my home, but at least the last year of that was less than 2 minutes of vacuuming from fully charged. I've kept it because my three year old really likes to "vacuum" with me. Now it's something like 15 seconds of run time when "charged" which is frustrating for everyone so out it goes.
This used to be a great product. We have owned several of them over ...
August 25, 2015
This used to be a great product. We have owned several of them over the past 10 years or so and kept replacing them as they wore out because they did a great job for what they were and could afford to be replaced as needed. It was cheaper to buy a new machine than to buy a replacement battery. We are very disappointed in the most recent replacement because of the charging system. They have made some changes and they are not for the better. We used to be able to charge the spare battery while the machine itself was also charging. No longer. If the machine is charging when we put the battery in the charger, the battery does not charge until we remove the machine and lift and replace the battery. The same for the machine. If the spare battery is in the charger when we insert the machine, the machine battery will not charge until we remove the spare battery. This never happened with the older models that we used to have. After complaining to the company they sent us a new wall charger, but it did not change anything. Still works the same inconvenient way. And it takes a very long time to reach full charge. This did not happen with previous models. Because it takes so long to reach full charge we often only get a very few minutes of running time when we need to use it before a full charge. The more recent model still does a great job of cleaning when it is running for awhile but we can't stand the inconvenience of the new charging system. It has been a great disappointment because we really liked all the previous ones we bought.
Works well, at least initially

EDIT: dropped review from 4 stars to 2. See note at end.

Terrific little vacuum. I've only had mine a short time so can't speak of durability over time. Some complain of the battery giving out.* The instructions say it may be left plugged in constantly. It comes with a power-up wall-mount; I love being able to just take it off the wall, do a quick sweep and then put it back for recharging. It couldn't get any more convenient.

I (initially) give it 4 stars because there is no provision for edge work. The brushes and vacuum opening begins about an inch away from the edge, so you're not going to be able to get in edges and corners. This is intended for general quick pickup; for edges or hard-to-reach spots you'll need a hand vac or regular vacuum with a crevice tool.

* NOTE: The reviews stating the battery dies prematurely is correct. I followed all instructions on this device and the battery died in less than one year. Since I only use this for spot cleaning, the battery dying in that amount of time indicates extremely poor battery quality. I really like this vacuum otherwise... but the battery situation makes this a losing purchase.
Great for weightless things, but nothing else
August 26, 2013
Edited March 2014:

Taking away a couple of stars, because every issue I mentioned still exists, but is worse.

* The battery is puny and must be recharged between every single vacuuming -- and our kitchen is only about 10x12. It might do our kitchen and both our small (4x6 bathrooms), but probably not much more on a single charge.
* It still picks up hair well. But nothing else. In the kitchen, it pushes crumbs around, picking up most of them only after a few passes, often dropping some again a few feet later. As a kitchen vacuum, it is quite poor. We still keep the broom in the kitchen closet, for edges of the room and for crumbs larger than a small bead or heavier than a speck of bread, or for times when we want the floor to be more than merely mostly-clean.

It would be 1-star but for the dearth of decent products in this segment.

-----

I've only had this for a couple of weeks and so far I'm somewhat satisfied. It does a terrific job of picking up hair in the bathroom, wool lint that our rugs shed and dust bunnies under the bed. It is much less useful for the kitchen. It often will not pick up the crumbs that fall on the floor. I find it does a little better if I use the carpet setting on the bare floor but I still find myself in the position of having to use a different method to pick up those crumbs. I do love how it works for the stuff under the sofa cushions. It's lightweight and small enough to fit in odd places to conveniently pick up little things of garbage. The battery doesn't last very long at all. It will barely complete one room. It would probably be a good idea to have an extra battery charging while using this so more area can be covered. If it only had a little more suction, I would love it.
Poor, Poor Engineering design as for Maintenance..... from an engineer's viewpoint.
October 18, 2011
UPDATE 12-18-15 : Tossed this vac out a couple of months ago. Just an absolute nightmare to take apart the powered head to remove tangled strings and to replace the belt, which comes off quite frequently...:((

When reassembling , some parts (the little roller wheels) have to literally sit in place by gravity while you try to snap the upside-down cover over them. Maybe 6 times you will try the cover, only to realize that the wheels are gone again. Two white nylon pieces that hold the roller in place are ridiculously difficult to keep in place at the same time you have to watch those wheels...%&$$^ Never saw even a full size powered head with this many loose pieces to watch out for.

Two stars instead of one, because when the machine is back together, it is really pretty good.

Original Review:

I bought this, 3 wks ago, mostly for my kitchen, which has a rough surface stone tile.

PROs: - Good battery life, considering how small...can do a 14x10 kitchen and two rooms of hardwood about 13x22, plus hardwood stairs, in about 25 mins.

- Has s switch for hardwood / carpet selection, which saves on the battery. I found that the carpet mode works well on rough tile when the hardwood would sometimes not. Does a good job on area carpets and throw rugs, (if they are not deep pile, of course). Gets people hair off carpets, but don't expect a stick vac to get much pet hair from a carpet.

- Has only a cloth cup filter, but that is fine for small bits of crumbs, dirt, and dust bunnies. Would not try picking up spilled flour, until I had gotten most of that with a broom and pan. Filter is easy to shake, but does make a bit of a mess to get completely claer of picked-up debris. It can be washed. If you cant stand to clean a filter, I would question how well you clean a house in the first place...

- assembles easily: the bolt in the handle has a recessed design that is nice - you don't see it after it is in.

- Handle comes off to make a very usable hand-vac pretty good for stairs.

CONS: - The handle wobbles a bit where it goes into the vac body. No trouble yet, but a little less quality than the recessed bolt design - looks like two different grades of engineers worked on this design!

- To get most suction from the small motor, the vac rides very close to the floor, so anything larger than a large bread crumb will just scoot along on a slick floor. Sometimes backing up over it helps, but you do pay the price for it doing a better job on what it does well. Notice I still give it 4 stars.

Disappointed

I've only used this six times, and the motor crapped out on me. I'm very disappointed, Hoover is supposed to be a top of the line product. Now I have to contact the company to have them do right by me.
Worthless
May 7, 2017
I can't imagine who would give this a 5 star review. It has no suction power AT ALL. After going over the same spot on the lanai over and over and over and having it just not pick up anything, even loose stuff, I am tossing it. Even though it "works" (i.e is not broken) it is so worthless that I don't want it to take up the storage space.
Vacuum cleaner has already had a price reduction since I returned it!
May 7, 2017
Amazon very good about return. I was very disappointed in this vacuum cleaner. It weighed 10 lbs. and was too difficult to use with Fibromyalgia! It had a loud sounding suction as though it was picking up everything, however it didn't! It picked up dust, but the tiniest crumb would be left. Large head didn't go smoothly around furniture.
if you want to get the job done quick then don't buy this one
April 6, 2017
its almost a year now, I like the vacuum until now, it gets over heated and vacuum only vacuums only for 15 minutes before it gets over heated, I have to stop wait for a few hours and try to see if it works it does, it is only good for 15 minutes of vacuuming, you have to let it cool down, not good for customer satisfaction do you agree
It worked great for a few months
March 25, 2017
I bought this vacuum a few years ago with high hopes. It worked great for a few months, but I have had problems with it ever since. It constantly clogs and I am always trying to clean it out. The brush is always packed with hair and fur and needs constant cleaning as well. Would NOT recommend.
(It worked great the first several uses
January 26, 2017
This vacuum cleaner quit picking up dirt after approximately 7 light uses. (It worked great the first several uses, but then began spitting out dirt.) I cleaned the filter and brushes, and followed all suggestions in the brochure, to no avail. I have tried calling Hoover 3 times, but have been put on hold for 10 minutes each time, so Hoover apparently does not provide customer service. I got this vacuum for very light, occasional usage primarily on hard floors; i.e., it has not had any heavy usage. This will be my last purchase of anything made by Hoover.

Returned as defective
July 10, 2016
I really enjoyed this vacuum the first time I used it. Ultimately I did return the vacuum as it became defective. I will outline the pros and cons for your reading pleasure.

Pros:
Very quick and effective vacuum
Lays flat to vacuum under furniture
Really decent suction
Easy to assemble
Easy to use
Easy to empty receptacle.

Cons:
NiCad battery
Cloth filter is easily clogged and has to be washed with soap and water, then air dried before you can resume vacuuming
12 minute battery life may not be sufficient for everyone, however I have only found one cordless with a longer battery life.
My unit stopped charging after 7 uses, was returned as defective.
It is an extremely cheap product that has obviously low quality parts.

This may be a great vacuum for someone who doesn't have much dirt tracked in, it did excellent work at collecting cat hair but dirt clogged the filter every time I vacuumed my entry rug.

Please mark yes that you found my review helpful so that I know you enjoyed reading my review. Thank you.

Won't Hold a Charge!
June 23, 2014
First of all I read all the reviews and did lots of research before I purchased this. And at first I was thrilled with this little guy. Lightweight, perfect for stairs, ability to take off the handle. After only a few months, it won't hold a charge more than 3 minutes. I can't even get to the bottom of the stairs and it is dead. The charger works fine and says it is fully charged, but it doesn't hold the charge. I am so disappointed and wish I could return it. I also bought Bissell's Pet Vacuum for Hard Floors. It is corded and I use it on the main floor of the house. It has outstanding suction and now I will have to purchase another one to keep upstairs. Twice the suction on that vacuum, also lightweight and good on stairs. Buyer beware of this Eureka Quick Up.
Not Good for Homes with Young Children or Pets!!
June 11, 2014
I bought this vacuum to vacuum up Cheerios and bits of food underneath my child's high chair and to clean up kibble that my cats spill. This vacuum doesn't have any kind of clearance underneath it, so it just pushes Cheerios, food bits, and kibble around on the floor. It only vacuums them up if I pick up the vacuum and physically set it down on the Cheerio (food bit, or kibble). I don't have time to hunt down each individual Cheerio, food bit, or kibble and suck it up. So, this vacuum cleaner is pretty much worthless to me. I'm returning it and have already ordered a DustBuster to replace it. I don't recommend it for homes that have young children or pets.
