Side by Side Comparison of: RIF6 vs Tronfy

I love this little projector. Admittedly, I bought it for movies for my iphone, but have yet to use it for that. If I had read the other reviews, I would have known that I needed a separate adapter (pictured below)

First of all, this thing is small. Like SUPER tiny. (below is a comparison photo next to a quarter to give you an idea of how small this powerful little box is.)

And... it is amazing how good the out put really is. No matter where I am projecting, it does a great job under both dark and fairly indirect light. This helps make a great extended work area at home when I am dedicated to certain projects or working for extended periods of time. It does a fantastic job even projecting on uneven surfaces (below is a photo in my living room, under fairly bright indirect light, projecting the RIF6 support website on a textured wall as a pretty good bad case scenario).

Getting this little gadget hooked up for the first time, may prove to test your patience. There are 4 cables included and most likely you will only need one of them that came with the projector. As I mentioned above, the iphone hookups will require a separate adapter (pictured below). The easiest out of the box cable to use is the one that is HDMI to mini HDMI. It will plug directly into your computer and the projector will instantly recognize it. The other cables, thanks to the RIF6 manufacturing teams ARE clearly labeled on each to identify WHERE each end plugs in and it is a big help if you don't quite know what you are doing or are getting confused.

The tripod, although I barely use, it very flexible and easy to install, just remember to attach the included silver bracket first. Loosen the tension knob, slide in the cube and re-tighten. After that, the tripod itself simply screws on to the bracket. The legs bend very easily and you can position it anywhere on the go. This adapter is helpful in my office when conference rooms are booked and I need to project higher than my working surface and display PowerPoint and other presentation materials to small groups.

The battery does hold steady around 90 minutes (or more) as advertised, but you can also power the cube while you project so that it is not a worry.

The remote, although nice to have included hasn't really offered my any conveniences except to switch devices and/or power off the unit remotely.

All in all, I love this tiny little gadget and I am not limited to WHERE I or my husband can present, project and expand our work space. I am not disappointed and I would highly recommend.

It took me some time to get this set up since I didn't read that it didn't have the right adapter for an iPhone or iPad. Totally my fault, so here's your warning if you have the above mentioned devices go ahead and buy a lightening HDMI adapter so it will work the first time. This is the one that I purchased, it was suggested prior to use an Apple adapter to make sure it worked properly, so I did and haven't had any issues at all. Here's a link for the adapter:

I bought my adapter at Staples and they price matched Amazon so I didn't have to wait on the shipment.

Once I finally got the adapter it worked perfectly! My kids and I watched a movie on the ceiling right before bed time. They loved it. Next plan is to put up a sheet outside and have movie night outside. It's super clear and easy to plug and play. I already had a blue tooth speaker so I didn't have any issues with the sound, if I hadn't had that, I don't think I would like it as much since the sound on it is not great. You would have to have your ear right next to the projector to be able to hear it. I've only used it with Amazon Video as of now, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Super small, and super convenient to carry around! Can't wait to use when we go camping too!

 This projector is amazing! Really it is. It is so tiny, but packs a HUGE punch. I am so amazed at what that little cube can do. I purchased it right before mu daughter's sleepover and they had a great time watching Ghostbusters projected on the wall (and at some points even watching it on the ceiling)! I am very happy with this product, have told many people about it and I look for every opportunity to use it. lol! I can't wait until it gets warmer so we can have movies in our backyard and I have big plans for movie nights when we go camping in the summer. This device is perfect for that given it is so small and so easy to transport.

So here are some details on experience with this projector:

QUALITY OF PICTURE: The quality is pretty good with this little device. The larger the picture gets, the grainier it will be so take that into consideration. also, it really does need to be very dark for the picture quality to be as good as possible. There are some projectors that will work pretty good in low light situations, this is not one of them. You really need it to be dark to get the best picture. Also, I find that the quality is better on animated movies vs live action. But live action still is good! Don't get me wrong.

SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality of the cube sucks. Don't believe any review that says it is good. You will need to supplement the sound. The only way to use the cube as is, would be to sit (or lay) right next to it and have the room very very quiet. The sound will not fill a room. I know that RIF6 has a sound cube, but I did not buy it/try it. I used some existing speakers I had. See details on that below.

SOUND SOLUTION: To help with the sound, you can use the AUX outlet on the projector (marked with a headphones symbol) to connect to a speaker. I saw some people hemming and hawing about the fact that this is not bluetooth. This is EASY to get around. Purchase a bluetooth transmitter. I bought one for about $16 and it works perfectly. I connected it to two bluetooth speakers (Kardon Onyx bluetooth speaker and Jawbone mini jambox) and we had AWESOME sound for our projected movie. Luckily, I already had these 2 bluetooth speakers at home.

CONNECTING TO DEVICES: The easiest thing for me to connect to was my computer. I could use the cord already provided and had not issues connecting and projecting. We could pull up the Netflix website, go full screen on the laptop and voila... perfect. Connecting to mobile devices are harder and in more cases than not, will need additional hardware to make it work. But fret not, it's possible! The projector comes with two Android connectors. I have a Kindle, but the connectors are not compatible, you need to purchase some separate. Since a Kindle is not my main tablet (an iPad is) I selected not to invest into making that work. If you want to connect an iPad or an iPhone, you have to buy an lightening port to HDMI connector. But BEWARE. Some of the connectors will NOT allow Netflix, which I can imagine a lot of people want to project. So read, read, read, before buying. ALSO, consider the adapters recommended on the RIF6 site, as those are more likely to work. BUT before you spend a lot of money purchasing something, think about what you REALLY will want to use this projector for. There may be a better solution (like using a laptop or a streaming device), especially if it is just for something like Netflix. Originally I was very gun-ho on connecting my iPhone, but eventually came to the realization that I just wanted it for movies, I already had a Chromecast and the additional adapter needed was much cheaper than the iphone one and it would project more.

USING STREAMING (Chromecast, Netflix, Roku): LITTLE KNOWN SECRET.. streaming devices are very, very easy to hook up. I hooked up my Chromecast and was able to cast movies, shows from Netflix, HBO, Showtime, etc... with NO ISSUE. I can imagine that the same can be done with a Firestick or Roku as I believe they both connect via HDMI. BUT if you select this path (which I HIGHLY recommend) you will need to get an adapter. Luckily there is one that is only $7 and works like a CHARM!

TRIPOD: The tripod is cute and I love how flexible it is. To use, you just screw in the holder, then slot in the projector. Note, the projector corners should be in the corners of the holder to keep it snug. Once in, tighten the screw. ALSO, the tripod mount is universal, so you can attach the projector to any tripod. I actually used my taller camera tripod for our movie so it was head on.

KEEP IT SAFE: This thing is so tiny, I was concerned with dropping it (or my kids dropping it) so I purchased the silicone case that RIF6 sells. It was very cheap, under $10 and worth it. One note, once you put the cube in the silicone case it will no longer fir in the tripod holder, BUT the silicone case has it's own tripod connector at the bottom.

MY PERFECT SET-UP: So below is my perfect RIF6 projector set-up:
-Projector in silicone case and attached to tall tripod (both case and tripod would be separate)
-Attached to Chromecast using additional HDMI connector
-Bluetooth transmitter connect to AUX outlet
-Kardon Onyx bluetooth speaker and or/ Jawbone mini jambox connected via the bluetooth transmitter (Jambox can be connected via the AUX cord as well)
-While the projector does have a rechargeable battery and can project without being plugged in, I keep it plugged in while projecting so we don't have to cut it short after 90 minutes
-Lots of popcorn!

After unpacking immediately noticed sleek design as well as careful, proper packaging and detailed user manual (there are also video tutorials if you need them). In the silver box (shaped and designed to look like the projector itself) you'll find: projector cube, remote control, mini tripod with clip mount, wall charger and 4 different cables (HDMI, USB and MHL for Android and Samsung devises). If you are an apple user as I am, you'll need an HDMI adapter. Once I charged my new projector (red light turns blue when device is full of juice), it took me a minute to mount the cube to the tripod, power, connect and start watching videos. And I couldn't stop. It's a whole different amazing experience to watch something in the dark with a projector light beaming images to the wall. Imagine having your own portable movie theater you can take anywhere and watch movies, videos, look at photos or scroll through your Facebook or Instagram feed, or what have you. The cube is tiny: 2x2 inch and very lightweight, therefore very portable. You can watch movies in your bed beaming it to the ceiling…that’s pretty cool! For more of a surround sound experience there’s a headphone outlet on the side of the projector and the bluetooth option. I tried my headphones and external speakers, it sounded great. Haven’t tried bluetooth yet. The Cube would make an awesome present and possibilities here are endless. For example, you can view a document and use a remote control to switch pages. I am planning to use The Cube in my office for client presentations and will take it to my friend’s rooftop for a movie watching night hangout. To add a few things: the software of the projector is upgradable; the cube can be connected to any device as long as there’s an adapter (if needed); you can get an insurance for a peace of mind; adjustable focus (focus wheel on the side of a cube), there’s also a Micro SD slot on a side of the projector (I was able to watch my GoPro videos that I made earlier that day right from SD card). The device is easy to navigate, practical and fun to use. Will be buying more for wedding and Christmas gifts.

This item first and foremost is super dope lol I bought this item from Amazon warehouse and it was literally half the price as if it was new, and let me tell you people don't be intimidated if an item you purchase on Amazon says it has scratches and it's acceptable. It is still inspected by Amazon warehouse deals and they would not sell it if the thing didn't work, ok so now let me tell you more about this product. I purchased it to have outdoor movies with my kiddos and I am by far not a technical person although I love gadgets, this product is super easy to use. I could not believe how simple and clear and compact this product is. I have used it with the following products, iPad first gen and Itouch 4th generation, and I purchased the hdmi cables both here on Amazon for about 16 dollars which is not bad at all. So I read a bizzilion reviews about this product before deciding to purchase it and let me tell you NOBODY out of all the reviews I read was specific with this one information.... You can use this projector WHILE the projector is charging and that will allow you to use it passed the 90 min that it gives you if you just used it with out it charging. Meaning this projector has a battery inside of it that works for 90 mins.... Sooo Having said that I read you can connect a usb external portable battery charger and it will work but for me it did not I just dragged one of those orange long cables put it outside with the projector and WAMMOO I was able to watch 3 movies without the projector dying on me at the end of each movie. So I am just trying to be as specific as possible people you can connect it and use this projector at the same time. I have included several pictures unfortunately I can't seem to upload any videos, to show you the projector in action but it's awesome, the remote that comes included with the package was damaged and cracked but it worked so I really didn't complain about it, I do hear it's cheaply made and I agree compare to the projector itself. There is 3 separate cables that come with the projector and honestly for me except the actually charger cable all of the other cables was useless and they should consider adding a cable for apple product users considering there is a huge amount of consumers like myself that use that product. Now I was going to spend freaking 300 bucks on a projector screen so a little tip for my fellow amazonians, go to Home Depot or lowes and get you a 3 1inch pipes and 2 elbows to hold the pipes in place and a white or light cream cloth canvas mine is about 9ft tall and I think 12 ft wide and get some rope and make your own projector this will save you tons. This is what happens when you have a household income of one lol well I hope this review helped you all and if you have any questions please let me know :-)

This projector is exactly what you should expect for the price and one notch higher. I ordered this item in October of 2015 and used it probably around two dozen times until Feb. of 2016 when the HDMI port stopped working. At the time I had just had another child and did not have spare moments to fiddle with it so I put it away until July 2016 when I was going to have guests and decided it was time to see if I could do a little troubleshooting with it. Honestly, I have kids so I wouldn't doubt the HDMI port stopped working because of rough usage. I reached out to the company (expecting nothing because of the amount of time that had passed) but wanted to make sure there wasn't something I could do to reset the ports. They responded within a few hours of my late evening email (Shelley was very kind, honest, and thorough). They apologized and expressed concern for my issue and helped me test a few things and then offered to exchange or refund part of the cost. I was blown away. I had waited months to contact them and this item was not under any warranty. I graciously took a portion of the refund that they had offered because this is exactly the kind of company I want to stay afloat. In a world of machine customer servicing this was just a breath of fresh air. We can still use our projector for gaming, videos, movies and pictures---so that my friends it why they get five GIANT stars.

As a person who now owns 3 "cheap projectors" & 1 nice one let me say that I can not believe the quality of tis thing. There are no words to express the pure awesomeness. I have owned a Wonderwall Discovery projector & a Sharper Image & both were more expensive & junk compared to these. Most cheap projectors are in full screen and project a much smaller image along with being to dark and having the worst resolution possible. As soon as I plug this projector in it lit up the entire bedroom wall. I could not believe what was happening. Other projectors would only light up half the wall. I ended up buying a queen-size flat sheet and it wasn't big enough. Then I bought a king-size flat sheet and it still wasn't big enough. I found myself watching The Happening and I could see the pores on Mark Wahlberg's face. My bedroom is literally a movie theater now. I have to project On the back wall and this means that I cannot make the projector smaller if I wanted to. But I don't want to. I understand the native resolution might be less than full HD but when you're projecting on a screen that is bigger than a king size sheet none of that matters because you can see things you would never see before. The picture is clear. It is bright. Not bright enough for daylight viewing but as long as you close the blinds in daylight you're good. At night time if you have dim light you can watch it as well. But personally I like it dark. I am sorry for the long review but I have to say that over the years I have tried my best to spend a little amount of money and try to get a decent projector. I have upgraded crappy projectors to their maximum capacity. In the end this puppy beats all. Also it will stream anything off of USB. For example I plug a terabyte drive into it with movies saved on it and they will all play. Blu-ray player hooked to it as well. The remote is very convenient. The settings are easy to mess with. The projectors volume can be loud but the natural speaker sound like a tin can. It has Audio out which is hooked to a stereo. But the good part is once you hook it to a stereo you can in fact control the volume from the projector remote which minimizes having to use multiple remotes. If you had a digital movie on a USB for example you would only need one remote. I have been playing with this thing for a week almost Non-Stop and I can't get enough of it. I am submitting pictures with this. You will notice two of the pictures are before I got a sheet as a screen. For this you will be able to see my closet door which will give you a little bit of a scale as to how big does puppy really is. After This projector I am seriously reconsidering needing a television. I don't see much a point anymore. Especially in the bedroom.

This project is amazing for only $100! I got this projector for my boyfriend and he loves it! We project across our bedroom (about 12 feet) and the resolution is still very good (it projects to probably about 8 feet wide). it is a great alternative to having a TV in the bedroom because it makes the room feel like a theater without a bulky tv or tv stand. It is bright enough that I can still watch movies and such with a light on. I don't know how well the speaker in the system works though--I have it hooked up to an external sound system. I would definitely buy this again!

I give this five stars because for the money it is awesome it's not the best best quality but I love it . Top is a bit blurry can't read writing but I tell ya it's great for movies. Does not work with computer well . I recommend with fire stick it any media stick !! Awesome

This is my first review on anything, so here goes. I bought this for my first movie night for my kids and I everything worked great. It's smaller than I thought it was going to be but that wasn't an issue at all. If you're thinking about getting a projector don't be afraid to get this one. This picture is just on my wall in the backyard about 15-20 feet away. Hope this helps

Shockingly good for the price. We've rented and borrowed much more expensive projectors and this one is just as good as those. The pictures attached were taken in our living room and the sun wasn't even completely down (about 6:30pm EST). I'd definitely recommend it for family movie nights and fun get togethers with friends. One thing that's not so great is the sound. I'd definitely recommend hooking up a good set of speakers.

I am so excited about this projector. Opening the box it came with a ton of items. The projector is small and comes with a stand and a remote to help with adjustments. We purchased to have outdoor movie nights. It doesn't have a long battery life, but it comes with a power source and it is easy to run an extension cord to it for longevity. Like others have said, the sound is not the best, but we use a bluetooth harmon speaker that connects to our wireless devices (this is NOT wireless), which helps to boost the sound. I will note that if you are purchasing this to use with any apple product you will need to purchase lightning cables because this does not come with them. It does come with android and windows cables and plenty of them though. The picture was nice and clear.

I am really pleased with the RIF6 CUBE Pico Projector, though it comes with some quirks.

The quality of the device is great. The battery lasts as advertised, and the accessories are well thought out. I will say the remote feels a little bit inexpensive, but we have not had any issues with performance. We also had to pay $50 for the Apple lightning to HDMI cable. With the cable, my iPhone 7 connects great - just don't try and use protected content (such as Netflix). I love to use it display family videos and photos that were taken on my phone.

At first we had a bit of trouble getting SDCards to work. We thought the issue may have been our 32 gig card being too large. My husband contacted support, and they were wonderful.. They told him that the M4V video format is not supported, however MP4 is. It was very easy to convert the files.

The videos come through clear and there is an easy adjustment wheel on the cube. I think 120" is a bit of a stretch for the display, but I really have no complaints. I would say this should be considered for personal, and not professional use. The ease of portability and fun factor really make this purchase something I would recommend to friends and family.

Very small and super cool! I leave this on my office desk so when a vendor or a co-worker comes in, i can share my screen without them having to step around and stand over my shoulder, and squint. I project it on the side wall by the visitor chairs. My manager was even impressed. He thought it was awesome. The packaging was great. Everything had its own little spot. Plus all the different cables are labeled, which was so helpful. The only con is that it has to be perfectly flat and pointing straight. There is no keystone adjustment, which is why you have to have the projector pointing flat. But, the tripod stand with the bendable legs is awesome! It's so small i can bring these to visit clients to project presentations on any wall.

This projector has a great picture output. It is small and compact and works great for outdoor movies. The display can go upto 120" which is great for large groups. Comes with an octopus tripod that is very helpful in setting up the projector. Also comes with several adapter plugs for connecting to various devices. Please note you must have a separate adapter for Apple products and Microsoft Surface computers.

We were so excited when we saw this mini projector with good reviews. The projector is great for our small family. We tried it out on several different "screens". We used a projection screen, a white sheet and the wall to test it out. The white sheet and wall showed a decent picture but not compared to the screen we used. The screen is adjustable so we tried at different sizes. The 100 inch screen is too big, the picture is a bit blurry. We tried it on the 50 inch screen which showed a nice picture. You need special cables to attach the device to Apple lightening or 30 pin devices so we purchased one. If you have an android with the standard plug or are using a computer (we used our Mac), the cables that came with the package work great. The device's speaker was not very good. We used a Bose speaker with the device which worked.

While the device works for our small family, watching movies in the backyard with a few friends, we feel the real value of this device may be for small business owners or students giving presentations in a small room. The portability makes this an excellent option for taking your presentation on the road without having to drag along a large, more expensive (more breakable) device. The cube has a nice high-quality feeling to it. It has a nice weight so you know that its not cheaply made.

Overall, if you're looking to show a movie/slide show to 50 of your closest friends of your trip to Tahiti, don't buy this. If you are looking to show a 50 inch movie in your backyard while making s'mores to your kids' friends on camping-in-the-backyard night, this is awesome. If you are looking for a portable device to take with you to present to your customers in a smaller room, this is a great option. Overall, we give it 4 stars.

read the one stars and the five stars.... was going to purchase a name brand more expensive projector...but decided with Amazon excellent return service to try this out. I do not regret it. Now like every one says this is not high end. But I remember my first Optoma projector back in 1989...this bests that. Now if you use dark area and appropriate wall...and external sound you will have fun. Especially for parties or movies. About 15 ft from wall well over 140 inch screen. the farther back you sit the clearer it looks. The fan is noisy and it gets hot. So need to connect to external device. remember to turn off after few hours to cool down. So...For 60 dollars this is a great value. buy this first and then go from there. I still plan to buy better one...but this is great as a loaner for the kids or a back up....as well. Or I may even by one or two more for cool party experience. Please note I am in no hurry to upgrade....this was a good deal. i am curious about some of the other low end projectors. Would be awesome if this had Bluetooth to connect to other sound source....

What a great little projector! I did not expect much for the price, but I have been using this in my bedroom and project onto a blank wall. We keep our bedroom pretty dark as we are day sleepers, but the picture quality is pretty amazing even in the evening in other rooms. It is placed at 100 inches from the wall and we generally get a pretty crisp image. I connect my iPhone with a separate adapter and it works great. I would recommend using a separate speaker as the speaker on the unit isn't that great, but could work in.a pinch. Much cheaper than purchasing a new television. We have it mounted onto an old floor lamp stand for height. I would give it five stars if the audio quality were better. This would be great for people on a budget and the fact that it is portable means we can. Have a movie night outdoors this fall!

Picture quality is good. While using HDMI connection and connecting to a external audio source the volume is low and tough to hear. Ended up connecting the external audio source through computer and was able to get much better/louder sound. Overall, good product for the cost. Allows the family to watch movies in the back yard by the fire.

This projector gets the job done. While it isn't as crisp or bright as high-end models, for the price it's certainly worth it ($85 at the time of my purchase). I bought two and hope that I will see longevity from the projectors going forward.After two days, I am pleased. I have the projector placed about 10 feet from my wall and it produces a clear, 7-foot picture on my blackout screen.The internal speaker is loud enough that I can hear it from the next room.The hook ups are very simple. I just have the power cable and hdmi running to it.The menu selection is very basic.The only issue I have with it, at this point, is that text does not appear very clearly. You can still read it, but at the projector's sharpest text still appears blurry, especially around the edges. Videos, however, show up wonderfully. I'm guessing that's why the description said "great for gaming, not for powerpoints."Not sure what else to say, other than if you are on a budget you should give this projector a shot.

I bought this knowing that it was cheap and that the picture quality was not going to be as good as a pricier model. I have to say that I am more than happy so far with this projector. Yes it Mus t be really dark to get the best image and yes you will need to hook up some other speakers to it because the sound is not the best. I bought a 40 dollar pair of speakers and played a movie and it sounded and looked great. It has only been a few days since I purchased this but so far I love it and enjoy watching movies on a big screen. I bought a new white sheet and thumb tacked it to my ceiling and I have a perfect screen that I can put away when I am done. I also hooked my blu Ray player up to it and it looks great. Works also with movies on usb drive. Like I said, the picture quality is not perfect but for the price it is worth it to me.

For what it is and what it does it is well worth the price. I use it everyday for everything from gaming to watching movies. I would recommend to anyone wanting to get into projectors as a great entry level projector. It's a wee bit loud (The cooling fan), and some times a get a spot on the far right of the screen that's darker than the rest. However it's still great to use. It's native resolution aforementioned in the product details is accurate. This thing will hold you over until you can afford sony's 4k hi-def projector ^.^

Been using this excellent device for just over a year, then it died. Had to return the first one due to being defective. Amazon was super quick and awesome getting that done. It's really unfortunate, that this died, it has become an intricate part of my toolset. I cant fully explain just how cool and fun this thing can be. Leaving 3 stars, cause this thing shouldn't of died on me this quickly. O well, terrific product, I hope others are able to get more longevity out of this great projector. Not sure which direction to go in, need another device like this one, it's so good.

The picture wasn't as clear as expected. One of the footpads on the stand was missing. I will say that connecting it to my computer was an easy process.

It's difficult to focus it 100% clear, and you have to sit in a dark room to see it. If you want better, spend more money.

its shows fine but the colors is a bit off..and its a bit of trouble whit the remote and all so the seting i cant change the tint so because of that the colors is a bit off....need to find a way to access the tint function under settings?

Pretty cool little projector. However, I had to return secondary to incompatibility with my devices. If you have iphone you will have to buy a $50 adapter. It does not work with my samsung galaxy 4 secondary to no MHL. Speakers are not great so you will have to buy portable speakers for it as well. just not worth all the money including the extras you have to purchase.

Cheap and OK for movies. Just don't expect high def. But for kids it is unbeatable at this price. And they can use it for hours and years and the cost to operate is minimal and the bulb doesn't seem to wear out.

It's certainly not the best, but that probably comes with the low price tag.The biggest issue I have is with the distance. It has to be way closer to the surface you are projecting on to than I was lead to believe.The sound is not great, but still. It over-all isn't a BAD purchase for the price.

POTENTIAL BUYS PLEASE NOTE that the product description says 1200 lumens, but it is actually only 1000 lumens. I've tried the projector and was generally satisfied with the product in relation to its price. The remote control seems cheaply made and doesn't work terribly well, requiring you to press buttons repeatedly to work. I purchased for use at a party and it's absolutely fine for my purpose (again, considering the cost). I would not be impressed if I was using to watch a movie.

Works fantastic, I use it with USB thumb drives and it is able to read a surprising number of video file formats, including MKV. Wish it was a lot brighter, but good for indoor use. Not good enough for outdoor/back yard movies. Very loud cooling fan that overpowers the weak internal speaker, requiring external speakers or headphones to be plugged in. A bit of blur around the edges, very common for these bargain projectors.

I owned it for 2 months and then it just stopped working out of the blue. The HDMI port is simply no longer picking up a picture like it had before.I was contacted quickly by customer service are they are going to be sending me a new replacement unit as part of the warranty.

The device works in a small theater room environment or dark bedroom with very little light, which was my intended purpose for it. The fan, however, clocks in at 50 db from 5 feet away and up to 80db if you are right next to it. This, for my needs, renders it unserviceable.The image quality is fair but, as stated in many reviews, text comes off as blurry in odd spots.There is mechanical vertical keystoning, but to a very limited degree.It it's defense the projector looks nice and contemporary while sporting a decent "not too cheap" heft to it. While not Ultra-Portable it could easily fit in a rolling business case or backpack.If you need something that will project, don't care about image quality and don't need to read any text, this will work. It might even help by softening the rough edges of older movies!As is, I'd recommend it as a purchase around $50.

Dont waste your time, this will be returned. The picture isn't that bad but it has to be pich black to see it. The audio is terrible, which is to be expected with something this small. The battery only last 90 min which means you cant watch a full movie. To sum it up if you want to use this portable cube have a dark basement and be right next to an outlet

The size and picture quality are GREAT, but I must have gotten a bad unit (I bought a refurb one). I don't mind at all having to use an external speaker, but I've tried three different ones and the sound even when connected to my huge 80W Monster Block Rocker is not loud enough! so frustrating. And it cut out sometimes.
Can't watch a movie without decent sound. I am too late to return, so I guess I am out of luck.

this little thing is amazing and I was super happy with it. Those reviews are spot on. Haven't had it that long or used it that much but now the fan is incredibly, seriously loud. I've had it in an old microphone case, so I've babied it when transported. Seems like the quality of the fan may not match the rest of it. Now I'm outside of return window. I can shake it a little and then super-gently set it down and I've made it stop like that sometimes. I'm hoping the seller will read this and work with me. Will plan to update post.

It has an Amazing Picture, But right out of the box it looked refurbished, there is a sticker on top that has a lot of wear on it around all the edges. The sound was turned completely up to 100% and you can just barely hear it in a completely silent room even when you attach exterior speakers you cannot control the sound to be able to hear it. The SD card reader doesn't work it will not except any commands from the remote except to move volume and turn it on and off, or to get it to the MLH menu to work with a computer which with the HDMI input cuts off the sound as well.

We were so excited because of the cute and portable Cube Projector but were very disappointed with the sound quality and volume. When not hooked to speakers it was impossible to hear. We hooked it to our Bose speaker and that made all of the difference but were not impressed with the speaker feature.
Also, we have children and are worried about it tipping over on the tripod...There was a scratch on the one of the sides AND we had to purchase a 50.00 cable to hook it to our apple products. Needles to say, we are returning it and purchasing something else. So bummed!

It's okay.. the edge is pretty blurred out.. I guess you get what you pay for.

Stopped working 2 weeks after buying it. Wouldn't buy again. It would turn on and thats about it. Wouldn't do anything else.

I've had the projector for about 4 months, used once a week for a few hours, bulb is starting to fail.I didn't have high expectations for this to begin with.Ultimately, you get what you pay for.

Great idea, but way too weak of a light to use anywhere except a pitch black roan. Not practical for slide shows in a club or office environment. I returned it and spent four times as much on an entry model office projector.

For a cheap projector that we wanted to use for family movie night, the picture and sound is great. However within a month of purchase, the USB port stopped working and is no longer recognizing the flash drive we used the first night we watched movies on it. The HDMI still works, but the added need for a computer to play movies defeats the portable aspect I wanted.

It is great for the money. Except mine only works with an HDMI hookup. Which is fine because I use my laptop to run it primarily.

It seems like I have received used item. The battery was already installed in remote. But it was not working and chked battery voltage it was showing dead.

Despite all our efforts, this projector will not interface with our computer. Repeated attempts to get help from the manufacturer have failed -- they don't respond to email and there's nothing helpful online. My partner is very experienced with computers, and he can usually figure this stuff out, but not this time. My advice is DON'T BUY THIS unless you want a $200 paperweight.

Very disappointed. Purchased this product and didn't open it for over a year before attempting to use it. Really wish I would have opened it immediately to test it out so I could have returned it. It did not include the plug to charge the projector (only the cables and stand were included) I was contacted with an apology and told one would be mailed within 24 hours. I never received the plug so had to purchase one from radio shack. I also purchased a set of speakers since the sound is very low coming from the projector itself however, the volume with the speakers still stays low. I know it's not the speakers because they work great when plugged into any other device. I would NOT purchase this item again.

Why nothing shows in Video folder when I click it?? (of course all formats are compatible according to manual such as wmv, mp4, mkv, mov etc.)
I recently bought Micro SD Card and put some videos in the SD Card. When I put the SD Card in the cube projector and click VIDEO icon, Nothing happens!!! What is wrong with this product??
So frustrated!!!!

I did buy the cube and it was very disappointed. It has a very dim light and it is hard to handle. There was also a slight falloff in focus from left to right. I decided to buy this projector because of the many good reviews it got.
I did send it back on the same day and got a refund immediately.

Stopped work after about 40 hours. Random lines showing up all down the side of the screen. Took very good care of the projector. Always kept in the box after using. Turned it on one day and about 1/4 of the right side of the screen is white with lines all down the side. Very disappointed. Unfortunately I can't return this to Amazon.

The projector failed the first time we used it, unsure if it overheated, but only projected for a few seconds and then shut down. We couldn't even get the settings changed on it before it would time out again.

Returned it. Quality was terrible no matter what size, lighting, etc. Have yet to see a refund, too...terrible service, terrible product.

Remote does not work, even after trying in multiple new batteries. Brother's birthday present ruined =(
