It's early September and its still pretty bright out at 7pm
September 15, 2015
This came yesterday in time to save my Monday night football party. I already owned a NEC projector but that required much darker conditions to work. I ordered this on friday and it got to me an hour before kick off on Monday. It is as advertised. It's early September and its still pretty bright out at 7pm, but the picture quality was GREAT regardless. It's very clear and the colors are well defined. A friend commented that it was just like watching TV. I am extremely impressed and I now have a bunch of jealous friends whom I know will be making that purchase pretty soon.
ART INSTRUCTOR'S ENDORSEMENT
May 10, 2015
I'm an art instructor. Anyone familiar with the Epson products will consider this product for teaching, showing travel shots, more. I have happily used the flatbed scanner (Epson Perfection 4990) for about 30 years. So when I had spent hours in Photoshop getting the color of my images just right, and taking a laptop, various connection cords, and a prayer that it would all work and look good to numerous venues to use THEIR equipment, I was publicly embarrassed at what I saw on the screen. Time to get my own equipment. I can't say enough good things about this projector. Set up was minimal, instruction manual is simplistic, logical, factual. A few questions were immediately answered (in English) by courteous, knowledgeable technicians via phone. I used this projector within days at a class and the class gave it their seal of approval. Need to learn more about its capabilities, but so sold already, I'm chanting praise!! You do not need a laptop; just save your PowerPoint program to a travel drive as "JPEG" and plug it in!.
Epson is the way to go
April 19, 2015
I spent a few months looking for a decently priced projector that had the specs I was looking for in a projector. I had over 30 different projectors in my amazon cart. After reading endless articles and doing research I narrowed it down to this Epson VS230. I received it in 2 days after I purchased it and honestly I am impressed with this projector. I am happy with my purchase and am excited to continue using it. I set it up midday in my living room and it had no problem providing plentiful brightness onto the screen. It's colors are vibrant and video looks great. In a dark room it is even better, of course, and gives great clarity. I'll be using mine for presentations, gaming and movies. I spent right at $400 for this projector and a 100" screen 4:3 screen. Do your research and spend the extra 100-200 and you will have a projector that you are satisfied with. The speakers are even decent but I will be plugging in external speakers for surround sound. This projector has the hookups (hdmi, USB, aux cables) I have been looking for along with the brightness of 2800 lumens. A lot of projectors claim to have a certain brightness but in actuality fall short of their specs. This projector is what is says it is and I would recommend it. Thanks for reading my review.
Fantastic value
March 8, 2015
Fantastic valueI've had this projector for 6 months - 1 year now with many hours of use everyday. I even use this projector for the occasional video projection install and it puts out plenty of light (3K lumens) at a pretty good quality. Blacks are pretty black. Keystone adjustments are really handy. Easy to setup and use. Small size makes it very portable and easy to install (low weight load on wall/ceiling)It's not an HD projector, but it will take HD inputs. Unless you are scrutinizing each pixel on the wall, you really won't notice that much of a difference. I've used this projector for everything from TV to gaming to production, up to a 20' x 40' picture to do visuals for a party with fantastic results. Very crisp picture and good frame rate. It's been working great without a hiccup - my living room has swayed many friends into going from TV -> projector, and this is the one I recommend to all who ask. Once you switch over, there really is no going back.
Awesome for outstide movies. EASY set up. Lightweight and compact but great picture quality.

We finally set this up and we are amazed at this quality. We used this outside on the Camp Chef os-144 movie screen, set up the projector about 15 feet or so back and the picture quality was great. We saw no pixilation or problems and it was like using a huge HD tv on our lawn. Set up was scarily easy (I was sure I missed a few steps but it went on right away) and though we didn't have the right speaker plugs to use separate speakers the sound with 6 of us sitting around it was loud enough. If you have more or louder groups you may want to add separate speakers but for a few families it is fine. We used it with a dvd player as I didn't have the right plug for my laptop (and I was worried about my laptop buffering) and everyone enjoyed it immensely. I can completely recommend this for outside movies.
Great projector!!!!!

I wanted something that wasn't super expensive but still looks good. I did some research and found out that Epson is one of the most reliable brands out there. I was going to purchase the Epson VS220 because it got so many good reviews and was award winning but then I saw that the VS230 was the newer model and had 100 more lumens for the same price at the time, so I figured whichever projector had a cheaper replacement lamp would be one I would get. Turned out the replacement lamp for the VS220 was $200 but the VS230 only cost $100 to replace, and it also has more lumens so I took a leap of faith and decided on the VS230 and I'm so happy that I did. My living room looks like a small movie theater. Sports games look amazing on it, so if you're into watching games like I am that's a plus! Also if you like video games, they look great on it too! You can play all the next gen console games on it because of the HDMI port. I hope you like this projector as much as I do..

Great screen that becomes quite compact when you don't need it.
August 13, 2015
We ordered this screen for our wedding. We'd put together a slideshow and while a friend lent us a projector, his screen was way too large to transport to our venue, even when packed. The screen's cost is reasonable, especially when you consider that as a Prime User, I was able to hVe it over-nighted for something like $16 (it's heavier than the typical $3.99 items Prime does over night). Especially when you consider that Best Buy or PC Richards (NY) don't carry screens in house nor do they easily allows for same-day in store pickup (believe me, I tried). It packs up compact and was super easy to set up. We popped it open in wide screen and the ~200 guests all saw it easily without any problems. The wedding venue's people had no trouble folding it back up and storing it for us to pick up later.I couldn't be happier. When folded it's about as long as an adult male's leg and 1.5-2x as thick. Not bad for the max inches it can support.
I like the mechanism
April 16, 2015
I like the mechanism, the way it packs up, used it in a room with about 250 people in it, the powerpoint and video were both clearly visible and a reasonable size. I like the way it clicks when opening to show you where the 4:3 point is, yet opens fully for 16:9 hd videos. My only problem was the stand is very short, made for a living room rather than a public gathering where you need more height. However, the stand/screen are made with the same diameter of a PA speaker stand, and by using one of those, I was able to put the screen up to the height (about 8 foot at the top) I needed for the presentation. It worked very well for me.
Just what I was looking for
April 8, 2015
The form factor to this product is fantastic. There are a few issues that I can comment on below...1) My problem is that I travel and I want to take this with me. My solution was to use a hard shell golf bag with wheels. You can check the bag into most airlines without a problem. The Duet Dimensions are 46.2 x 12.2 x 9.3 inches. A typical card shell golf bag has a total height of 51 inches, total interior height 47.5 inches, total interior width 11 inches, and total interior depth at 12.5 inches. This easily fits the Duet requirements. I usually wrap the Duet in a towel to prevent a lot of movement in the case. You can buy a used hard shell case for $40 is you look around.2) When I first stretched out the Duet, I noticed a wrinkle down the center of the screen (see the photo). I was a little concerned about it. I decided to leave the screen open for a while to see what would happen. The wrinkle dissipated enough within a day to be OK.3) The issue with the height of the screen has been mentioned before. It would be handy if the height was several inches taller, but that would extend the overall folded dimensions of the product (and no longer fit in my golf bag). Fortunately, the top of the tripod has a plastic guide that easily comes off. For the times I need the screen to be a little taller, I take the guide off and insert another pole down the shaft of the tripod. It took some looking to find a suitable size. I will post a photo the next time I have this set up.Overall, it is a great product and meets my needs at a great price...
For the price, fantastic!

I really like this screen.• EASE OF USE: Super easy. Detache base, flip the legs open & slide screen body onto base. Then, unhook both sides of screen, and slide out as far as needed. Literally no more than 90 seconds.• QUALITY: Screen is super white, easy to clean, and unit is well put together. Sure, if you're rough with things you'll break an important piece if plastic. That's on the rough person. We all know YOU take care of your equipment and treat it to last for the long haul. That being said, it is not a fragile piece of equipment.• USES: I use it for business and pleasure. I initially purchased it, along with a video projection unit, to splash presentations up on something other than whatever wall is available. I have a non profit and give presentations to individuals, groups, business and corporations. I wanted something that looked great & refused professionalism without being bulky and unwieldy. All folded up, this fits perfectly into the back of my Jeep JK 2door, not a vehicle known for it's roominess!I also set it up in my living room, and run my BluRay/DVD player through the projection unit. People love it. I love it. Heck, I run my NetFlix through it. It's isually just set up in the corner waiting to be unfolded & used.• WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN: Absolutely, positively yes.Any questions, let 'em fly! :)Dug Shelby[...]
Stunningly Sweet!

Its nice to be over-impressed when you open up a new item you've bought off Amazon. The reviews are critical to the buyer and these were to me. I had to throw my two cents in: This product is killer.I teach a class once a month and needed a good portable screen to replace my ancient mid-60's projector screen. Some of my students complained my old projector and screen were too small and dim. I bought this one after checking the reviews. I am beyond pleased. It's well made and, as a result, a tad heavy, but not overly so. Pretty heavy duty stand holds it nicely stable at a great height (base of screen 33 inches off floor, top, 76 off floor). Folds up for travel in a flash. Built for many years of travel. I have accidentally walked into my office in the dark when the screen was set up and whacked it pretty hard. There is plenty of mass and "wiggle" to the design so no damage was done. I absolutely love this design! As for the comment on screen curl, I found a very simple solution: Curl the screen back in the middle, about 6 inches either side of center on the top and bottom edge. Don't "crease it." Just bend it back over nearly 180 degrees and that provides a little "strength girder" to the center span which solves the issue of screen distortion completely. I did mine once and it has lasted for a couple weeks but it's quick and easy to do and results in a perfectly flat screen.Combined with my new Viewsonic DLP 5133 projector, I am literally light years ahead of my old system. My students will be pleased and my presentation will be that much more professional. If you need a KILLER portable screen, or a home use screen where you either mount it on the wall or stand it on the tripod slightly away from the wall, grab one of these before EPSON raises the price to $299 where it belongs!Suggestion for EPSON: Charge another $5 and provide a nice fabric bag to keep dust and wooly-boogers out of this nice unit during transport. It is so nice! (I'll probably end up making my own...)UPDATE: After rolling out the new screen and projector combo for my last class, I had to pass on how positive the comments were from our students. They loved it!
The best big screen, very portable!
July 3, 2011
If you set-up and take-down the screen often, this is a great choice! About 25lbs. in weight, it's easy to setup and take down in about 10 seconds. This isn't the perfect screen, but to me it's the best on the market, so here's what you need to know. This is still the screen to buy at this time!- The screen curls a little at the top after a bit of use. If you set your projector to cover the entire screen, people might notice the slight curling at the top. I originally stuck a crocheted beanie cap on the center post behind the top center during setup to push the top of the screen forward, but an easier way, and I do this now, is to just curl the top edge of the screen forward, and hold it like that for a few seconds. Sort of reversing the curl. I do this maybe... once a week, if I can remember. It's not that big of a deal, really. After over a year, my two screens have the curling on the top, so just curl forward, hold for a bit, and good to go for the video presentation.- While it's smaller than most traditional screens lengthwise (about half the length) it is still a bit heavy, so if you're hauling this to and from your car, think about getting an over-the-shoulder messenger bag or something similar for your projector/laptop setup if you're hauling everything at once.- It's an 80-inch widescreen picture, and it's quite impressive when you're viewing something that fills the screen. If Epson came out with a larger screen Duet, I'd be on it in a heartbeat! This is a quality portable screen and the bigger the better.- You can't really mount this on the wall or use it on the provided leg stand at will. If you mount on the wall, you have to take off a plate on the back of the screen (4 screws) so you can put it on the wall. So it's either portable or it's wall-mounted, you can't conveniently have both. Not a big deal, if you want a permanent wallscreen, you should get something else. This is well-designed for portable use.- The screen, when folded up and carried around, can stand on its own. If you're hustling through elevators and corridors, you can stand this on the ground while waiting. The legstand has a clip which locks it onto the screen, but it can open while you're running around, so just pay attention to the legstand when going to and fro. A simple tug on the legs will click it back in place. As for the curling of the screen, if some sort of firm strip (much like a wooden yardstick that a seamstress uses to measure fabric) were running down the center of the screen to keep it straight, it wouldn't hamper the opening/closing of the screen, and could be the answer to the problem.Still, it's the best screen for ultra-portable users. I set this screen up 12 times a week, and it's holding up very well.UPDATE: I own two of these screens. One for home - I use is a few times a week, at least once in the backyard at night. I leave one at work, and use that one every weekday. After over a year, still really enjoy owning this screen and have no regrets.Recommended!

Perfect.

Used these to hook up my projector to the Blu Ray player and they work perfectly. A bit thicker than I expected, but I think that’s a good thing. Very pleased with this purchase. Unbelievable value for money.
Best cable for my use!
August 4, 2017
Big fan. All of the HDMI cables I order are big and bulky. The weight alone is enough to damage the HDMI inputs on most monitors. These are the perfect size to use. I run karaoke and I always need to hook a cable into the expensive TVs many bars and clubs install. I don't need the wire weight damaging the inputs. These cables work great!
Great cable with a small wire.
July 19, 2017
This cable works well for connecting two devices that are far from one another. I use it to connect a PC to a TV nearly twenty feet away. The cord is easily maneuverable and can be hidden along a wall or inside a hanging ceiling if necessary.
Reliable cable that has stood the test of time.
March 21, 2017
Good quality, has worked well over time, reliable. This is massively long so make sure you need 25 feet before purchasing. My philosophy is I'd rather have a cable that's too long than one that is too short.
works good, good price. repete buyer
December 12, 2016
This is my go-to cable whenever needed. I had bad luck with a couple of walmart cables before trying this one. Since then I have ordered quite a few. Never have had any issues. Not much to say about cables they work good or they don't work good. I like the price on this one and just wanted to drop my recommendation these are a good deal.
25ft - Outputs flawlessly to TV
August 24, 2014
I bought the 25ft version and the output from laptop to TV is flawless. Before the cable, I was streaming via a media server (PS3 Media Server to be exact) but this got to be a chore since video playback on media server can be slow, sometimes choppy, sometimes doesn't support all video file types, and just navigating around the interface can be slow. Then why not just output what you see on your laptop directly to the TV, as long as you don't mind the cable? Now I watch videos that I would watch on my laptop but on bigger screen. This includes movie files, youtube, and many other online video streaming. It's really simple.I got the 25ft version b/c I felt that gave enough play and distance from where the laptop usually sits and the TV. I had wondered whether there would be too much signal drop and get no picture but that's not the case. I get video and audio on my TV just fine. Side note: I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro so I had to get micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter as well (micro-HDMI really stinks btw).$7 for a 25ft cable and Amazon Prime... hard to go wrong.[Update Nov 2016] For everyone complaining about how short NES Classic controller cables are, just get this and problem solved. :-)

A great projector for the money
July 31, 2015
A great projector for the money. The picture is bright even when blown up rather large. My only complaint is that for a presentation to a group of 70 the sound was not loud enough for the room. With my laptop I had only a usb or hdmi connection option. Neither of these allows you to split the audio off to an external speaker. I sent for a splitter and hopefully going forward I will be able to spit the signal from the hdmi cable into audio and video and connect the audio to another speaker.
Great projector, but you need a backup plan for the sound
May 27, 2015
Bought this projector to create an outdoor movie theater for the summer - easy to set up, FANTASTIC image, used AppleTV to play movies and music - unfortunately, the sound was a problem. Although this projector - unlike many others - does have an internal sound system, you can only hear it if you are sitting (a) behind the projector and (b) sitting within +/- a few feet from it - anywhere else and you can't hear the sound. This projector also has the red / white / yellow audio plugs, but you cannot simply connect a speaker system to it - you have to use a receiver to connect the pieces - which totally defeats the simplicity of an outdoor movie. I think this would be amazing in a room and would be wonderful as a projector in a home theater setting.

We've had it for about 3 months now and we're enjoying it. We primarily watch movies and some youtube videos.Pros:- reasonably priced- played it with the lights on and looks good.- we were able to hook up our laptop as well as the blue-ray and dvd player (not all at once)- will play upside down- hooks up to our receiver easilyCon- wish it had a zoom- lens has a tilt feature (you can turn this off and it does give you a re-shape the screen size)Neutral- I can see pixels, but we did not get the HD version so it's somewhat expected. And once we get into the story you don't notice.Bottom Line: For the price, I would recommend, however I think if I were to do it again I may consider the higher model. I must admit I originally was looking at a cheaper model and decided to splurge and go up one level, I was drawn in by the color lumens - now I'm thinking perhaps we should've gone all the way. I was unsure if the project would've gotten much use but with 2 teens in the house, we use it 2-3 times a week watching movies.
First time had some charm.
March 17, 2015
Easy to set up for home outdoor use. Had to wait for evening darkness so I could view bluray movie. I tried to use Block Rocker as an audio source but I could not. I had purchased a Sony sound bar years ago and luckily it had HDMI hookups. I was able to use the sound bar as audio out source. The picture quality was excellent, the color was vivid and natural looking. There are a couple of negative things to say about the projector. The first thing is that the projector only has one HDMI hookup on the back. The second is the color saturation function is not as user friendly as a color function that has the numbers 1 through 5. Other than those two things, I was satisfied with the projector for my first time using it. I hope to post a review again after repeated use.
Serves its purpose
January 1, 2015
This was a Christmas gift for my wife. She loves watching videos in a big screen so this was a big plus for her. Previously my wife was using a "mini-projector" that works ok but has weaker resolution and light intensity The Epson came as described. Resolution and light intensity is great for movie watching. It functions well using an HDMI cable to one of our computers. The only downside is that we can't get it to function with our existing HDMI ROKU streaming stick that functions fine with the mini-projector. If it was compatible with the streaming stick, I'd have given it 5 stars.
done alot of research prior and went with this budget projector with the best reviews. I love it
August 5, 2014
First projector I've had, done alot of research prior and went with this budget projector with the best reviews. I love it! The reason I didn't rate it 5 is because I have on very rare occasions gotten some minor lag but all in all its a great budget projector. As a PC gamer I'm very happy. The screen is very clear and I can even make out most text on it as long as its not too small. It works great with games, movies, and TV. It comes with a VGA cable but I got an HDMI one for better image. My only other minor complaint is that the feet in the back bottom of it don't seem to screw off which I wanted to do for a ceiling mount to be installed. I'm sure I'll figure it out though and other then that its great. :)

I have been using this for 8 years and I still love it!
August 22, 2017
I have owned this product for just under 8 years. I have used it in my basement, paired with a 720p projector. Overall, I really love this screen. Setup is easy, and it gives a good picture (this has more to do with the projector than the screen). The only problem that I have with the screen is that it sags a little bit in the middle along the top (see provided pictures). It isn't perfect, but once you have the projector on, you really don't even notice the sagging. I would definitely buy this item again, but with the way this one has held up for me, it will probably last a lifetime.
Good portable screen
April 23, 2016
I agree with the pros and cons that others have outlined. I really like the innovative design for its size and portability. It is extremely easy and fast to set up also. It is a bit heavy to carry around for a long time or a long distance, but overall not overwhelming. Probably the biggest down side is the flex at the top and bottom of the screen due to lack of reinforcement. Leads to distortion of the picture at the top and bottom edges. I would recommend this product but would definitely outline that downside to someone.
Packaged nicely when delivered
December 9, 2015
Packaged nicely when delivered. I like the Projector Screen it was bigger than what i thought it would be. Easy to set up, easy to adjust the width sliding in and out from behind the Projector, easy to take down just be careful if you are short its over 5 ft tall when put together. Quality made, very professional and well constructed. A little heavy if you are not able to carry anything over 20 pounds. I don't know if it should be used outside but it appears it could be used for outside as well, because of the quality look of it i wouldn't use it outdoors but that's not to say it couldn't be. It is well constructed and shows very good when the Projector displays on it.When closing it up it stands up nicely in a corner i would have something behind it in case it falls but it stands up nicely is not an ugly sight if you can't store it somewhere that is hidden. When transporting, carrying handle is nice and sturdy and the screen is compact and stands about 43 inches when folded up. The only reason i didn't give it a 5 is because of weight but i would highly recommend it!! Adding Side View of how the screen stands from a wall per customer inquiry of how far the screen stands from a wall.
Functional and Heavy
August 12, 2015
A very nice screen with some limitations. As mentioned in several other reviews, there is some sagging in the middle due to there being no support. However, if you are being judged because your screen has some small limp areas, the problem is with those doing the judging and not your presentation. Yes, I know if it was perfectly taut, things would look better, but the results are not horrible. Most people looking wouldn't notice or care.As for portable, that is up to the individual. It is well constructed, and therefore, heavy. They claim 29 lbs. but it sure feels more like 40 or 50 to me. I know I wouldn't want to lug it around all day long. It is also not meant to be taken on a plane. I suppose you could get a large duffle bag and check it, but that sure seems like a lot of trouble. Don't even think about using it as a carry-on, unless you like making a scene and can't enjoy a flight without feeling the hostile wrath of your fellow passengers. If the place you are going doesn't have a screen or whiteboard, use a light colored wall. Or, think twice about what kind of rinky-dink company doesn't have a place to properly project content on. Did you have to bring your own projector? That might be what some call a "business clue".It is simple to use and the clever design makes it easy to open and close. When closing, make sure to line up the frame with the channel for a secure fit. You also don't have to be six feet tall or have a ladder handy to set it up. It comes with a wall mount kit that is sturdy, but if you want a permanent solution, you'd have one hat you pull down or lowers automatically. Having the ability to do 4:3 or 16:9 is a very nice feature indeed.Overall we are very satisfied with it and considered it a good value.
More like a giant widescreen tv than a huge movie experience.
December 22, 2014
Heavy but well constructed. Not really for traveling but nice to be able to store it away. The gold lines in the middle of the screen are visible in white light but for most movies not visible. One think I didn't count on - while the screen is plenty wide it's not particularly long due to its design. This meant we had to shrink the picture to fit the screen. The end result is rather than a huge a movie screen it's more like a big widescreen tv. Works very well for s small living room. If you are looking for a huge movie experience you'll probably be disappointed. Works well for us though.
Nice Projection screen
December 18, 2014
I have been wanting to have a nice portable projection screenthat is easy to setup and take down and store. This productfits my requirements very well.It is compact (42.5"*10"*2") (when collapsed), portable for transport in a car and moving from roomto room at home. it is somewhat heavy (about 28 pounds) It is very easy to setup. One person can easily do it. You take out the tripod. Adjustthe legs to the desired height (29-34" from the floor) and insert the screenon the vertical pole of the tripod and expand it by pulling the sides. As it expandsit clicks at 65" or 80" diagonal. The vertical height of the screen is 40"As many have pointed out there is a vertical sag and top and bottom sag. This happens because the screen is folded and supported in the middle andnot at the top and bottom. I use this screen to project movies from my projector. The vertical indentation is not noticeable. The top and bottom sags don't affectthe screening because the movie doesn't cover the top and bottom edges. The tripod is sturdy enough. In my opinion it is a well designed productBecause of the inherent sag, I am not giving it a perfect 5

very long cable which is doing the job just fine. got it out of the package and it felt like a thin wire that was very stiff. Have been using it for a while now and it has still not loosened up and become slightly flexible. It was an awesome price and would totally buy again.

Works but only 1 way you have to pay attention to the input and output markings on the cable ends, and inline amp not strong enough had to get another amplifier 20.00 to correct problem now works fine .
Been working for me this far
March 17, 2017
I purchased my 1st one almost 2 years ago and its still working for me.However I did order two for my brother and he said that his two broke couple months afterAlso, I purchased another one because I left my old one at home, I can say that it feels thinner than the older one. (Older feels thicker)the second one i ordered is good. but it does come out of the port kind of easily whenever I move my computer
No problems here, it works.
June 2, 2015
I bought this recently (May 2015), it works. I tested it with 2 devices to my TV, a 2014 MacBook Pro and the HDMI output of the GTX 660 video card in a PC. Both worked as expected, delivering both video and audio to the HD TV. A few notes though...Depending on the source (commercial DVD, video one creates at home and so on) on both Mac and PC you may need to "point" the audio to the TV. On Mac that's in Sound in System Preferences, on Windows, Sound, in Control Panel. Other than that, no issues with this cable for me.A few comments refer to the somewhat flimsy construction of the cable. No, it's not a an overpriced Monster Cable, but it doesn't appear to be all that fragile. Just be absolutely sure to insert/remove the cable by the connector, not the cable itself. The latter approach will eventually break the most well constructed cable, over time.
Thoght it may be cheesy but works great!
July 15, 2014
I ordered 3 to be safe as the ones i paid over $40 for here a few years ago both crapped out. Cables may be cables but the hdmi jack fell off of my first & my back up failed after a few years of using it. These all seem good until I busted my flat screen in the process of rewiring it & upgraded to 4k & did have an issue with pic/ sound delay but that was resolved adjusting the tv settings. I'd personally give it 5 stars but have seen several pictures of damaged cables, but mine all showed up in great condition! Besides playing tv, ps3, blue-ray, etc through it it is a fantastic value for the length for sure!
Link Depot HDMI to HDMI 25' Cable
May 24, 2014
This cable was packaged in a generic package, nothing fancy but enough packaging that I was confident the product was protected sufficiently. The cable itself was strong, of a good thickness, and the connectors appeared clean, the pins straight, everything looked good to go.The cable works for what I purchased it for - being an occasional link between my computer and my TV, mostly to watch movies. However I do find when I connect it to the laptop HDMI connector, the connection is a little loose - there's some side-to-side give, just a teeny bit, but enough that I do have to wiggle it around a bit and/or reseat it occasionally before the video and sound both are piped properly to the TV - however once it goes, it stays and from that point it works like a champ. That's the reason I don't give this cable 5 stars. All in all, I would recommend this product, and if the connection you need is one that will be set up and left, this cable should work perfectly. The signal was great, the product in perfect, new, condition, and it works perfectly once the connection is solid. It is the least expensive cable I could find, so teeny bit of give is, overall, a price I'm quite willing to pay to avoid the higher cost of others on the market.Would buy again.

Poor sound
January 6, 2017
Horrible sound, had to buy external speakers
Bright but wish the picture was sharper.
September 21, 2016
I have had this projector for about a year now. It well, is bright, and not super noisy. I would say that when running the ps3 and trying to read stuff in amazon prime video streaming or vue it is nearly impossible. It is ok but I am about to look for a better one. It does not have external output for audio which is a big deal. For the money it was cheap and runs well. It works great but isn't crystal clear.
Every nice picture. I just wish I could get a response back from the warrantee company.
September 22, 2015
I had purchased this unit from Amazon.com Shopping. I also purchased the extra protection package through Canopy Protection warrantee. I was charged all purchases on my Visa card, as paid in full. I contacted Epson with all the information about the warrantee and the defect. After speaking to the representative the gave me Incident # 160112-001353. Reference # 160-106-004744. I also spoke to a representative from Epson regarding the return and replacement of the Projector to them. Everything clearly understood in our conversation and several via E mails being sent to them. More then 4 days now after repeated E Mails for my request to Epson and Canopy to send us the Mailing Label so we can return the Projector for an exchange, replacement for one that works. They have neglected to contact us for return mailing instructions. Please contact me at my E mail : jtruax41@gmail.com to resolve this problem.
No headphone Jack, and can not Output the audio are serious down falls
May 11, 2015
Bought the projector to play movies, video games, and watch cable. I got it to work well with all three, the cons are why I couldn't rate this a full five starts.Pros:The color is great and it can easily be seen in a bright room.It doesn't lose its image on a bigger wallIt fixes well on a wall from any positionThe eco options can be use full, in making me fell like I am saving energy by dimming the pictureIt's not to heavy making it easy to carry aroundThe fan doesn't sound very loud, it doesn't distract the audioCons:You can not output the audio from the projector makes setting up audio more difficultThe projector doesn't have a headphone jack, you can only use audio plugs for soundThe projector size can get in the way if you want to hang it at allIt gets really hot some times, and once in a while can have a odor like something is burringThe start time can feel lengthy at timesThe price of the projector don't give this a feeling of a complete package, I feel committed to the the projector moreI would get this same projector but it has to have the audio output option and a headphone jack, then this projector would be a five star even with it's size.
Manual for USB PC Free video missing codec specifications mjpeg
August 28, 2014
No prior projector experience so no opinion on color / brightness. Only used a few times thus far, but spent hours trying to figure out the USB PC Free options. It accepts the USB device fine and recognizes .jpg or .png pictures, but videos would not work. After much research there was no clear answer. I followed the instructions and converted the videos to .avi with .pcm audio and not above 1280x720 (the only instructions), but when converting one must choose a video codec from a list of about 15, which I tried 5-7 with no success. Emailing Epson technical support was a waste of time so I called; the person answering did not know (they basically read to you the manual) so I asked her to talk to a supervisor, who did not know. I then asked if they could check with a technical person who may know . . . about 15 minutes later they came back with the video codec needs to be "motion jpeg" and the closest in the video converter was the .mjpeg extension (this worked with 720x480). The video quality is not as good as direct connection to a laptop, but good enough for basic presentations where you don't want to set up the laptop and the loop feature (replaying the same files within a folder) may be useful. The sound quality of the projector is not that good on the mono speaker with a lot of vibration sound when turned up to half volume so only for small spaces and quiet listening (or constant increasing / decreasing for video music versus talking). I also could not figure out how to use the laptop speaker when connected with the USB cord and there was a significant delay between the video and audio playback for a video (unless I figure out a change I will only use the USB cord connection for slides or pictures and not videos). The VGA connection seemed to work fine for video with no delays. I will likely get audio wires to try and connect external speakers for better sound.
Not bad but not great either
March 25, 2014
It's good, not great. Very large pixels. Bright picture, tons of tech but the picture just isn't as sharp as I wished it could be but I guess for the price this is what to expect.

Great flexability but some quality issue.
July 10, 2017
Functionally this screen is fantastic, but the quality is just not there. The worst part is that most of the screws will fall out at some point and, if you don't notice, then the metal supports will tear into the screen. Epson did replace the first one that did this but I noticed screws already gone from the replacement. The screws and some of the hardware seem non-standard and when I tried to use the screws from the handles as replacements, they turned out to be just slightly the wrong size. We've probably gotten our money's worth (as it is on the cheaper side) and if you don't need the portability on a regular basis, then you probably wont have a problem. Also, yes the top and bottom curl a little, but unless you are a super perfectionist it's not a big deal. At the end of the day I probably would have bought the same screen because it is really portable and flexible.
and they work pretty good, the compactness and Folding/retraction is awesome
March 2, 2017
I've order two of these for our church, and they work pretty good, the compactness and Folding/retraction is awesome, however the Screen has a few creases and came with a few small blemishes, also the plastic tip that is on top of the tripod tube falls offbut other than that, I was pretty satisfied.
Decent product with minor flaws, Poor experience with ConnectBuy
February 10, 2017
I used these screens at my former corporate employer so I bought one for my business when I went independent.THE BAD: The one I received had curves in the center of the screen from the rollers. It distracts you from the image projected, but not horribly so. I cannot recall if the previous ones I used also had the same issue.THE GOOD: However, with that aside, the design is great, compact and versatile compared to traditional models. The stand nests on the back for easy carrying with the attached handles. It even comes with a wall mount bracket.THE MAIN PROBLEM: Since I was dissatisfied by the damaged package and the creases down the center of the screen I returned it to CONNECTBUY. I waited a month and received no refund. I e-mailed them and they responded apologetically and said "we'll process it with the manufacturer in 2-3 days." I waited another month and then contacted Amazon Customer Service. They are now working on resolving it.
Good Screen for traveling presentations, wish it were a bit taller.
October 2, 2016
I purchased three of these to use for training's at various venues. They are great and fold to a fairly compact size that will fit in any car and they aren't too bad to lug around. They are well built. My only issue with them, likely caused by their compactness, is that they are not tall enough. I often have to set up on a pedestal or table to get high enough for larger crowds, but should be ok if you have a smaller audience. I still recommend them, they are probably the best solution out there that I have ever come across.

June 6, 2016
Screen setup is amazingly easy, the accordion metal braces in the back are a well designed method of expanding the screen, but I have a better quality picture on my wall than on this screen that came out of the box (New) with crease marks that show in the screen while projecting to it.I would recommend this product to anyone that needs a screen setup in an outdoor setting like I have been using it.- Well made- Easy setup & Tear down- Lightweight enough to carry, but heavy enough to be quality made and weighted down for wind issues.
Okay for the price, but 2 major drawbacks.
January 29, 2016
As a few other reviewers noted, there is a distinct bar going down the middle of the screen due to the manner in which it is stored. For the most part I can ignore it. It becomes evident during lighter scenes with more white background. Secondly, there are no top or bottom supporting structures to ensure that the screen stays flat at the top and bottom. Fully extended there is significant rolling of the top and bottom of the screen. If you are not using the entire screen then this will not present a problem. My projector can go up to 300 inches, so I use the entire screen. Most noticeable during scenes that pan up or down. Overall I like the design of the screen, but it has some major drawbacks that wish I would have investigated more thoroughly before purchasing.

1 of 2 not functioning correctly.
May 8, 2017
We ordered 2 cables. 1 of 2 is having issues with flickering sources on our projector. Does not happen with other HDMI cables.
Worked great until it didn't
March 11, 2017
I ordered this and I cannot remember if it came on time or not, but I'm almost certain it did. The reason I'm giving this product three stars is because only about a month, if that long, after receiving it (I started using it right away), the one end of the wire would no longer work. I tried switching the broken end from my laptop to my TV and it made no difference - I was trying to see if the issue was one of my devices. I'm not sure what the issue with the cord is but is is officially broken: I will see if there is something I can do to render it useful.
Spotty Connection
June 6, 2016
When I received the product, I hurried to plug it into my Apple TV and 55" TV. The build of the product was alright. The coat seemed thin but the actual male area seemed to stand up and stay in place. After connection, the signal was transmitted through the cord and the Apple TV showed up. The color was a little different but not too drastic. Only thing I'll have to say is that you cannot extend this further without sacrificing very poor quality image. I tried it and the screen was displaying scratch. The length was 25' which is about the most you'll ever need.
Very small cord for its purpose and length
June 25, 2015
For a 25 foot HDMI line, the cord is so small. It is every bit as small as the standard audio connecting cord for connecting devices. My 4 footHDMI cords for connecting Blu-Ray and Dish Network to my HDTV are much larger in size. I always figured that we need the larger cord to transfer the high definition signals for a great picture. I tried this cord, and the picture looks a little hazy. It was sold at a great price, but a lot of times, you only get what you pay for.
Love the Price, Hate the Signal Loss
February 24, 2015
This product could go anywhere between one star and four stars. It is four stars for being a functional TWENTY-FIVE FOOT HDMI CABLE FOR $5.99!!! It is one star for signal loss, poor shielding, and inability to handle HD video without degradation. For the value (and the fact it actually works), we'll dump it at three stars. When used with my Raspberry Pi running Raspbian, the cable works great, as the video isn't exactly intense when typing along in the terminal. The GUI is smooth and looks decent as well. When connected to HTPC, this cable really, really, really shows why it cost only $5.99. Even running 720p at 60hz, the picture was extremely degraded, to the point of lines coming across the screen. In conclusion, I'm not much of a fan, and recently ordered a replacement. If you have a low-end use for this cable, go for it. If you are using it in a home theater situation, I would suggest shelling out a for more bucks for a higher quality cable.
Great value and works as needed... until 4K came around
September 24, 2012
Needed some longer HDMI cables to run through a plastic conduit to hide in the wall. Was a little worried about the price vs. quality but these work just as well as more expensive cables I've used. Come with plastic protectors on the ends and survived a run through the conduit (2 corner bends) and work just great.Update 2017: These have served me well over the years until it was time to update my hardware. I had an older Samsung TV (to be replaced soon) and bought a new PS4 Pro. Initial connection worked - but then started getting staticky screens and pops through audio. Tried another one of these cables (have 3 separate ones ran through the wall) and the 2nd one was worse. I plugged the PS4Pro directly into the TV using the cable that came with it and the issue went away - which led me to believe it was the cable. It turns out that HDMI cables have also been updated over the years and these cables are no longer what is required to support the newer video connections.

SVGA not good for word processing
June 11, 2016
Nice projector but the SVGA resolution is really low. Not a good choice if you want to view and edit text on a screen in a group meeting.
terrible resolution.
July 30, 2015
I purchased this product after reading the reviews. I went with higher percentage.I returned the projector today...terrible resolution.
Pixelation causes issues.
June 5, 2015
Ordered this projector for my company's conference room, and I haven't been very impressed. It works great for things like PowerPoint presentations, but proved to be problematic when viewing data in spreadsheets. No matter which input is used (we tend to use VGA and HDMI most of the time), the image looks pixelated, and this tends to render text unreadable unless you zoom way, way, way in...which then requires lots of scrolling around the page. Since we're a very data-driven company, and most of our meetings involve reviewing spreadsheets, this has proven problematic, and as the company's IT director, I get to hear all of the complaints. I'll be giving this projector to the sales team, and ordering a different projector for our conference room.
What I thought was a great deal has suddenly stopped displaying all JPGs!!
March 5, 2015
I love this projector! Maybe it's because I bought a super horribly bad worthless no-name mini-projector first, and immediately returned it, but honestly, this projector fits my needs and then some! Great clarity, functions perfectly and quickly, and it's bright enough to see in the day time, in the room I use it in.UPDATE: I can no longer play all JPG images!!! And I can't find much info online. I worked in graphic design several years, changed size of the images, resolution, etc - and I can't get my images to display! I can pull some images from websites and they'll display just fine. There's no major difference in resolution or file size. I've tried different USB drives, too! Now I'm just frustrated with this projector that may or may not work. Sad.
Awful picture quality
July 8, 2014
I really tried to like this projector...I really didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it but I think I'm going to. The picture quality is terrible, maybe ok for a presentation but is awful for watching movies. Even a crisp Disney movie looks fuzzy and I have the projector maybe 10 ft from the wall. There is only a coarse focus adjustment knob, it's just terrible quality. Also if you have it mounted the power button emits a bright blue light that never turns off and is bright enough to light a room very dimly which is annoying for us where we have it in our home.
worked but resolution was too low for my needs
June 30, 2014
My fault I guess for not understanding the specs... I assumed that HDMI input would result in a higher resolution.

Good, but not really portable!
October 8, 2016
Sturdy, Probably one of the best screens out there. But really not portable -- very heavy, very substantial. We needed something we could ship from place to place or put in an overhead rack, and this did not fit the bill. We sent it back and bought a smaller one.If you will be staying in one place with the screen - I think that this is probably a great choice for you.
Creases look like snow crevasses!!!!
February 15, 2016
I'm giving it an AVERAGE for NOW... Because these are HUGE creases...most reviews I read stated there were some "small creases that weren't a big deal", and I thought, "well sure, but those will wear away soon".... But THESE!!?? They'd BETTER go away!! It IS easy to mount on the wall and it DOESN'T weigh 40 or 60 pounds when you go to mount it...a female with any "I can do this" can put it up in the wall herself --- I did and it took less than 30 mind and that was from getting it out of the box to the expanded to the 80" --- but these creases are NOT small, and they ARE a big deal if they stay this way... So let's hope they don't!! I TRIED posting a picture 5 times to show the finished product but it kept saying it couldn't upload it...but trust me...the creases ARE HUGE on the screen I got...VERY crevassed into the screen....UPDATE MARCH 4TH lines did NOT go away and I took the screen off of my wall and use the WALL as my screen and it's PERFECT.. the screen will now only be used as a portable for outdoor movies and hopefully we can see the movies or...will not suggest anyone buy this and if I didn't have to go through the hassle.of a return I would do it and get my money back...but,it'll probably be fun for outdoor movies and hopefully watching some outdoor Sunday and Monday night NFL games on nights where I feel like it... :-)
Broke after only a few uses
August 12, 2015
Great screen and concept to have 2 sizes while it lasted. After only a few uses it failed to open properly and sags greatly in the middle (the sagging design flaw could have been anticipated with the easy solution of a cross bar attachment along the top with ring and hook secures). Hopefully Epson tracks these comments and makes the necessary quality improvements to this product. Although the buyer should be aware of this problem, it may not be common and the options for similar portable screens are few. None-the-less, buyer beware.
Lower quality than expected ...
June 9, 2015
Item came shipped not functional. The screw on the arm that is attached the side of the screen had fallen off. So I'm concerned with the overall quality and durability since it already arrived damaged. There was also noticeable dents and scratches all over the item. Overall, I am really disappointed in the quality of the product.
Dissatisfied with projection screen gift purchase
August 23, 2014
This was a gift I had shipped to my niece in Columbus, OH. She was planning to make a video presentation at a recent family reunion and was persuaded NOT to rent a screen, but to own this one which she identified online. I was not impressed with what I saw when I arrived at the reunion, The screen seemed flimsy, fragile, and not very sturdy. While she was certainly pleased that she did not have to spend any money to rent one, she probably would have chosen a different brand/model screen had she known how inadequate this one was. While the surface of the screen was ok, I anticipate that even with modest use, this screen will not be functional before long. I have had my DA-LITE screen for more than 20 years, and it still looks and functions like it was new. The challenge would have been transporting my screen to/from the reunion with all the other stuff we had to carry. Once we left the reunion, my niece would still be faced with renting a screen EACH time she needed to make a video presentation. That's not very cost effective, and that's why the gift. If only it could be returned for a better model at the same price!!
Heavy, holds impressions and curls on both top and bottom
August 20, 2012
The concept is different than the traditional typical screen in that it opens horizontal vs. vertical. What I like:Stand is sturdy, easily store stand in the screen case.Screen is protected in a decent case, although plastic case, we'll see how durable it is over time.Has the option to mount to a wall. What I don't like:Bulky and heavy compared to other screens due to the dual enclosures (right and left) that come together. As other reviewers have mentioned, top and bottom edges curl, although it curls only on the black edge, not affecting the screen itself. The one I received has indentation marks where the screen comes together like it's been stored in this closed position for a while. I've seen this screen elsewhere and it did not have this issue or the curling, so not sure if this is due to being stored for quite some time or if it's due to something else. I'll try to post a picture of these issues.Height is very short as others have said, so if you are showing this to a crowded room, you may be challenged to get it to a height everyone can view. Wish they offered an extension tube or a height adjusted base.

Ran from a PC to a TV. Works sorta ...
July 29, 2016
Ran from a PC to a TV. Works sorta... but it cuts in and out to black/white fuzz ever 10 minutes or so. I tried it on every resolution, frequency I could and it was the same. After reading reviews I concluded it was the quality of the wire (thickness, shielding, etc). I returned this and bought one with higher reviews. The new cable was 3x the diameter and I haven't had any of the same troubles. My guess is that the this cheap cable was just too thing for the distance (25ft), it probably would've worked at a shorter distance but for longer runs it paid off to get a more expensive one.
Successful use depends on your device?
July 1, 2014
I used this to connect my computer to my digital monitor, got no picture, the monitor apparently senses no signal. Connected a 6-foot cable between computer and monitor, things worked properly. Tried this swap several times, same results. Then used this cable to connect my computer to an electronic HDMI switch, used the short cable to connect the switch to the monitor, and the setup works. I'm no expert, but it seems the switch can detect a signal that the monitor can't, and the switch boosts it enough for the monitor to see it. Which leads me to think that the VERY thin diameter of this cable means the wires inside aren't very robust, and a lot of signal gets lost over 25 feet. Your satisfaction may depend on the nature of the device(s) you connnect with it.
Blue and red pixels when connected through an HDMI receiver
December 28, 2013
An HDMI cable is an HDMI cable right? Wrong! Although this cable worked fine when connected directly to my TV and the laptop, whenever there was an HDMI receiver in the middle of the two there were a bunch of blue and red pixels on the screen. Some might say this might be the problem with the receiver itself, but no other cable displayed such behavior on the receiver, only this one did. I did isolate the problem to be in the cable and not rest of the equipment. I have used quite a few generic cables before and never experienced such problems. This cable may work for you if you are going directly into the TV, but not if you have an HDMI switch or a receiver in the middle.
Broke after 2 years
October 17, 2013
I rated this 2 stars because it did function well for two years, then does not work. This was run along the wall in our living room and we frequently used it to connect our laptop to our television. We did not coil and uncoil the cable. I feel like we took pretty good care of it. Perhaps we broke it? Unsure. One day it just stopped working. The warranty is only for one year, so I'll need to buy another.
Can't handle 1080p at 60hz.
August 20, 2013
The cable I received worked great. I tried it on my Playstation 3 without a hitch. I tried it with my Western Digital Live Media Hub and the cable performed more than adequately. The trouble comes when I connect it to my computer. The cable literally goes hay wire when the settings on my computer is at 1080p with a 60hz refresh rate. I thought the problem was my computer but I have many other wires laying around and, to my disappointment, it seems the problem only occur when I am using this certain cable. The cable works at 1080i at 30hz perfectly fine but once I change it back to the default, it starts to fail on me.This is all from my testing and observation. Hopefully, it is just a defective cable but I would not recommend anyone to get this cable and if they do it is at their own risk.I gave it 1 extra star because it only seems to not be able to handle my PC...Finally, I would like to say that in terms of customer service the company I ordered this item from replied to my email very quickly and offered me different solutions to try and solve the situation. I am very grateful to Home Fashion Products.
Couldn't push full bandwidth
July 25, 2011
I am running this cable from my home theater system to my projector on the other end of the room. This cable works flawlessly at 1080p 24hz, but when upped to 50hz or 60hz, it really struggles to keep full bandwidth. It certainly supports the frequency, but about two or three times per minute I would lose signal for a second then it would come back. Secondly there was noise in the line (only while at > 24hz) causing horizontal lines to intermittently show up for a brief second.I'm now going to have to order some better cables as 24hz isn't sufficient for my home theater system, fast movement results in a blur and a frame is dropped about every two seconds.

Beware
April 16, 2017
Review mostly related to storage and or shipping of product. Screen arrived damaged falling out of unsealed box and imo water damaged box. As a result, it is missing the wall mount+ hardware. Screen casing marred in several places, and screen has indentations from being rolled up with chunks of stuff on the screen.

Screen not tight, edges curl, nothing to support the middle of the screen
January 28, 2016
The top and bottom edges curl back and the screen sags slightly in the middle. Creases exist toward the middle of the screen where the case meets when folded up. I sent my original order back as defective and Amazon sent a replacement. The second screen received was just as bad, so I had to send that one back as well.

Disappointed the screen sags and has indentation in middle does not scretch out all the way. They need to add something that goes parallel so the screen can be completely flat but I like that it's portable and compact.
Watch for loose screws
January 8, 2016
I ordered this back in June of 2015. The only complaint at the time was the screen kind of bulges out in the middle once opened. I would have rated it 4 stars. The reason I'm writing this review and giving it two stars is because the last time I opened the screen a screw came loose. I have only used the screen a handful of times so this shouldn't have happened. This made the entire skeleton of the projector come unhinged. As the projector unfolded the screw or either the metal that came loose put holes all in my screen. I was able to put it back together but the holes are still in the screen. Anybody that has purchased this or is thinking about purchasing this will probably want to check the screws from time to time to make sure they are tight.
Poor manufacturing ruined what might have been a great screen
March 5, 2015
Based on positive reviews, I purchased this screen at the last minute for an upcoming speaking event. Bad idea. There is a tightening piece on the pole to clamp the legs in place on the center pole. On my brand new screen the piece can not be tightened; it just spins and spins without ever gripping the pole. This means that the center pole sags to the floor and the legs are never fully extended, making the screen both too low to the floor and unstable. The slightest nudge sends it tumbling to the floor. Very disappointing.

Poor Refund Policy
October 12, 2017
Terrible product, very low quality. Refund policy is a joke 88 cent refund ( $0.88) on a $13.98 purchase. Find another company to buy HDMI cables from.
HDMI-CEC is not supported with these cables probably not even 1.2a cable.....
December 14, 2015
This cable does not support HDMI-CEC so it may not even be a 1.2a cable for that matter. I bought these to run behind the wall. Only to find out once I ran them through that the old HDMI cables supported this and I could control my surround via my TV remote because they supported HDMI-CEC but these new cables do not.So all three I bought are going back, and I guess I have to buy more. The version of the cable should be listed in the description and it was not.
The cable is also extreme thin and of poor construction. It's not the sturdy

I buy stuff on Amazon all the time but almost never leave reviews. However, I feel compelled to warn other potential buyers about this product. This cable simply doesn't work. It would randomly flip off, turning the screen totally black for a few seconds. I notice this happens more frequently when I use the cable to deliver both audio and video. In that case the video feed flickers on and off every few seconds. When using only video, this may happen every few minutes. In the time it took me to type this review, the video feed dropped off twice! The cable is also extreme thin and of poor construction. It's not the sturdy, typical HDMI cable you see in stores. This would have been all fine if the cable actually gets the job done.
Two Purchases - Two Returns. Never Again.
February 26, 2014
I first bought this cable February 6, 2014. It was originally intended to hook up my television to my PC and use it as a second monitor - something I've done for years, however my PC was moved a couple feet over, rendering my 20ft cable useless and necessitating the purchase of something longer.Upon receipt I plugged it in, made the usual adjustments to my TV and computer, and received no video or audio. I tried hooking it up to a monitor, and while the Windows startup would appear with garbled green distortion, the video would turn black as soon as the startup sequence had completed. Thinking it was a PC issue, I tried switching the cable with the HDMI hookup between my cable box and XBox One, but still received no video. I even tried it on a second television, to no avail. I returned the cable as defective, and purchased another, thinking it was a fluke. The second cable arrived with a cut halfway through, completely severing the sheathing and several wires inside. Needless to say I won't be trying this one on any machine, and have sent it back for a refund. This time I'll be ordering an AmazonBasics 25 ft HDMI cable, as the identically-branded HDMI to DVI converter I bought recently works splendidly.
One Connector Has Already Gone Bad
February 6, 2014
Bought this cable as a replacement for a Mediabridge cable of the same length that I gave to a friend. We both use our laptops as a source to watch videos or listen to music on our big screens. The Mediabridge cable has been great now for over a year. Thought I could just give him my Mediabridge cable and grab whatever looked good having never had a bad experience with HDMI, until now. With the cable plugged in the bad connector will lose signal sync with the television if the bad connector is on the laptop where I tend to have movement from navigating the interface. If I swap the cable the other direction the problem largely goes away since that plug doesn't tend to move. Now before you suggest the laptop may have a bad jack, the problem occurs on my tablet (mini HDMI adapter used) and my iPhone. So it's definitely the cable. It could be that I just got a dud, but today finally ordered my Mediabridge replacement and pray the quality is the same as the one I ordered last year.
Didn't Work
June 1, 2013
I didn't use this for quite some time as a number of life things happened and thus was well passed my 30 day return period, but I hooked it up to my laptop to run to my big screen TV across the room (which is exactly what I wanted it for) and...nothing. Absolutely nothing. I moved my laptop over by the tv, used the same much shorter cable that I had used before and plugged it into the exact same HDMI input, and boom, all is there, and all is fine. Plugged this 25 foot cable back in and..nothing again. The TV screen blinks as if it's trying to tell me something, but I don't know what a blinking, blank, screen means. All I know is I used my old cable, worked great (but I wanted a longer one so as to not have to constantly move my laptop back and forth from my desk) but never got this to work.If anyone reads this and know another option for me to try, please suggest something. I will not purchase this one again under any circumstance, since I already did purchase it and it got nothing. The big screen TV is at least 12 to 15 feet away from my desk, and that doesn't count moving up and down or around and behind the laptop and TV. Any suggestions appreciated.
