The lid wasn't fitting properly but Oak Leaf quickly provided me a resolution and I didn't have to bother sending the diffuser back to have it fixed or replaced which was great since we use it every day! Recommended But Be Careful If You Are Sensitive to the Ultrasonic Sound December 30, 2016 This is a great humidifier!I use it in the office as the air in older buildings is notoriously poor. I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my asthma as a result of using this machine.It works very nicely with regular tap water and has not produced any white dust on my office furniture.It is also very easy to clean.The lights are a very nice touch and some will definitely enjoy it,My wife decided to "borrow it" from me on a permanent basis, so I had to buy another humidifier.One thing that I noticed was the high pitch hum. Based on my research, it appears to be normal for ultrasonic humidifiers.The sound did bother me sufficiently (as I have "dog ears" according to my wife) but it did not bother her at all, so I did not take a star off for my issue. Awesome oil diffuser! August 15, 2016 I've been in the market for an oil diffuser for a while and I decided to try this particular one because of the large size as well as the good reviews. I've been using it now for about a week and I love it. I have it on my nightstand and with only a few drops of oil and the water filled to the line it easily lasts all night. I have to shut it off when I wake up in the morning. The large capacity is great.I also like the look of it. Very simple but sleek. It doesn't look like some sort of medical device like your average humidifier but it also doesn't look like some cheap disco light like most diffusers. It does have led lights that change color but it's only the ring around the middle that lights up. So it makes a much better nightlight than most of the others that practically light up the whole room. I personally like it dark when I'm sleeping so I turn the light off completely when I'm ready for bed.This unit is very quiet. I can barely hear it running at all. And that's with it being less than 2 feet from my head. Just the sound of my ceiling fan drowns out the slight whir of the machine.It's also very easy to open and refill. The top just lifts right off. The fill line is very easily visible so there's no question about how much water to put in it.I was lucky to catch this when it was a lightning deal so i got it on sale. But I love it so much I'm thinking of buying another one to put in my living room. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone. I received this diffuser a few days ago to put in my home office where I spend a considerable amount of time. I know this can depend on the oil... but this diffuser not only fragranced my office but lightly scented about 1600 sf. Thinking a diffuser would be pleasant in my bedroom, I set out to town to purchase a 2nd diffuser. At the natural food store, they were demonstrating a more visually attractive diffuser that seemed to work similar but cost $65.00. When the unit came, it was larger than expected but the scent vapor lasts longer than I was expecting too. Great diffuser July 6, 2016 Diffuser works wonderfully for my space. It is a little bit larger than I expected, but thats not a big deal at all. I set it up in my kitchen and love to use Lemongrass essential oil to eliminate various kitchen smells. June 18, 2016 This diffusor is exactly what I was looking for. I have more than five diffusors around the house in multiple rooms so I can enjoy aromatherapy wherever I happen to be, and I also keep one at the office. I use the Oak Leaf at the office because it lasts all day without requiring refill and is whisper quiet - my co-workers cannot hear it. I had brought a different brand of diffusor to the office a few months ago, but it was loud and distracting and you could hear it turn on and off when it was on low setting. The Oak Leaf is so quiet many people do not even know the minty scent is coming from my office.I am unsure why many people have issues with their unit beeping in the middle of the night. I put fill water to the fill line and add essential oil 1-2 hours prior to bedtime and run in on high all night, when I wake-up in the morning it is stull diffusing. I sleep very late on weekends and the same holds true.And some people mention they have issues with scents not lasting long. That is not a problem with the diffuser - it is the essential oils they are using. I suggest choosing quality essential oils, and also understanding which scents evaporate quickly and which last a long time. Not all essential oils diffuse at the same rate. Essential oils are categorized as having base notes, middle notes, or top notes. Lavender, and many citrus and minty oils are "top notes" and will evaporate quickly. Base notes (vanilla and some woodsy scents) last longer. If you want your scent to last all night, you will need to select your essential oils accordingly. You can google much of this information.Overall, the Oak Leaf is my favorite diffusor. I purchased two of them based on the capacity, quiet, and ability to run all day or all night. March 13, 2017 Of all the budget-friendly samplers offered on Amazon, this one is probably the best set for beginners. The packaging of the oils is nice. Everything arrived undamaged; no leakage. My only criticism is that the built-in dropper on the bottles has a very fast drip to it, making it hard to count and control the number of drops you use. The labeling of these oils is very impressive as well. I appreciate the fact that they include some basic essential oil safety information as well as instructions for use and recommendations for blending. Also very reassuring is the fact that this company is transparent about the purity of their oils and offers (msds) Data and Safety reports for each oil on their website. Although these are not the best quality oils I've ever owned, they smell very pleasant and at least I know that they aren't synthetic or mixed with extender oils like soy. I enjoyed all of the oils in this set, especially the lavender and peppermint. They smell really great. The lavender and peppermint go great together for sleeping at night and the lemongrass made my house smell clean and fresh. I also love that there's no plastic dropper, but instead has the lid with the built in dropper (not sure what they're called), but real essential oils have them so it just assures me even more that these are pure. The packaging was very nice and secure and the little box was so cute! They're good sized bottles and will probably last me awhile. Definitely going to be ordering more from this company. She was looking to try a selection of oils to see which would be the best for her needs. Originally, the lavender was the one she had wanted to try the most, but she was pleasantly surprised by both the lemongrass and tea tree oils. Not only do these oils smell great, but they have plenty of utilizations from aromatherapy, to cooking, to being a relaxant. The package arrived much sooner than expected, and on top of this, the amount of oils to sample cannot be beaten in price compared to the volume received. We were very impressed. Not that's its really small or anything, it's just a nice size for any table or countertop, nice white clean appearance and most of all really easy to use. It has an assortment of changing and stationary lights, but I actually use it without any lights. It has 2 mist settings, one constant mist until the water runs out and one that mists for 30 seconds and off for 30 seconds. I love the fact that it has an automatic shut-off when the water runs out as it's one less thing to monitor or ruin by not catching it in time especially seeing this particular diffuser I use during the night so I know it'll turn off while we're sleeping. I do also have a larger capacity diffuser which I've really become accustomed to with it holding a greater amount of water at one time, but I put this on our nightstand and it works perfectly for its location and purpose. Honestly, they were bought because we had no oils and they were extremely affordable. They smell great with only a few drops in the diffuser and I suppose help us sleep. I was really pretty skeptical about whether or not they actually did anything at all. Then my carpal tunnel pain got out of control even with taking Ibuprofen 800 and bracing my wrist. I was pretty sure that I was doomed to surgery. So last night I was pretty desperate and found that EO's are supposed to help. I got my big jar of coconut oil (the kind that looks like Crisco) that I have in the kitchen and put a tablespoon or so in a glass then dropped about 10 drops of peppermint (pain relief), 10 drops of lemongrass (tendon and ligament repair), and 5 drops of lavender (calming and pain relief) and massaged it in for about 5 minutes. Today my arm feels 80% better than it did yesterday. I honestly cannot believe how much better it feels after 1 day. I have a ton of friends who sell YL oil and swear that they are the cleanest purest and maybe they are, but I figure as long as I am willing to go eat a greasy burger at a restaurant then I already have impure oils in my system. I just don't want my stupid wrist to keep hurting and these have helped immensely. |

It has run out in the middle of the night (I forgot to fill it), but I sleep soundly enough that I didn't hear any beeping.Yes, the aroma is very strong and then dissipates. I don't know if it because you get used to the smell, or if it's because the essential oils evaporate quite quickly. This is the case with every diffuser in my house.I leave the light on - it helps me to remember to turn it off in the morning - it is very very bright. An dimmer or 2 levels of brightness would be nice, but for the price it works very well. I like this small diffuser August 18, 2016 I like this small diffuser. One set of instructions said to add 1-2 drops of essential oils into the water and the other said 12. I figured it was a typo on the 12 version. You really just need 2 drops or smell would be overwhelming. That said, I really love the color changing feature and it looks beautiful on my nightstand when on. Highly Medicinal July 16, 2016 This is a very nice oil diffuser. It is simple to use. Add water and add oils. Aroma therapy is so theraputic. It just does something to the senses. I bought it with an oil diffuser so she can have the scent in the air too. They smell pretty nice, depending on which one and there are some interesting combination. It is a great kit to start out with and to see how people like to use essential oils. Another way is to put it on your hands (a few drops) that is diluted in water and rub them on your hands. Essential oils have a reputation for having effects on the mind for stuff like stress or for some pain such as arthritis. I, myself, have not seen any effects on myself, but that is because I don't use them often, or long enough to know see an effect. Overall, My aunt was pleased with it, along with my cousin, as she liked to try them out too. Bought for my sis for Christmas and just bought one for myself January 11, 2014 These scents are all wonderful. And they are all strong enough that if you sniff them out of the bottle they may singe your nose haha. My favorite is probably sweet orange, but they all have useful medicinal purposes. If anyone in my house gets a head or chest cold I am sure the eucalyptus will be used. The peppermint seems to have a positive impact on my sinuses. I actually just used some of the tea tree oil for a hair and skin care recipe using olive oil and essential oils. It worked out very well, especially for my skin. I tend to have very dry, irritated skin in the winter time, and lotions just don't seem to help for very long. I started using olive oil and then thought, why not try adding the essential oils in the recipe? You can tell the difference between just using olive oil versus using olive oil mixed with this tea tree oil. Therefore, while the olive oil works great, the tea tree oil from this sampler definitely adds to the positive effect it has on my skin. My sister plans on using these oils for making homemade soaps. If she gets around to this anytime soon I will try to remember to update this review and let everyone know how well it worked with these oils. Update 1/20/14 I recently started doing some research on essential oils to assuage my own curiosity and I feel I should share it with anyone thinking of purchasing them (which I assume you are if you are reading this). First and foremost, the grading systems companies use to grade their products are all relative because there is no regulation of the grades. So when it says "therapeutic grade", that just means it's that companies idea of therapeutic grade. That's not to say they are misrepresenting their products, but there will be variance between products because there is no standard, so finding a brand you trust is important. Second, don't assume you can use an essential oil for flavoring anything you're going to eat unless it's either food grade (usually labeled and more diluted to prevent injury), has been inspected by the FDA (these will have a nutrition label somewhere), or you know the oils are 100% pure with no additives and you know how to appropriately dilute them to make them edible. If there is no FDA label, there is a good chance that the oil is not 100% what it says it is - it most likely has some additives that are probably best not to consume. For these oils in particular, I personally would not consume them, despite the fact that the labels say they are 100% "insert oil here". The fact that the label specifically says "for external use only" helps that decision :P I lowered my rating of these oils from 5 stars to 4 simply because they are not as pure as I thought they were going to be. Still perfectly usable for their scents, but I think next time I will look for some essential oils that I can be sure are pure (I see more research in my near future... *sobs*). This is good for a small bedroom, I use it in my nursery, I wanted it to use as a humidifier and I would say that I think that it works okay for a small room, but it only lasts for about 6 hours before you need to refill it. I put 3 drops of essential oil and it worked well for defusing the oil, I could have just used one drop, I added more water later and it still diffused what was left of the oil. I like that it never gets hot and is easy to use. At no point is the diffuser touched, moved, or tilted yet everytime it is now used a puddle forms.At first the diffuser worked well, I loved it actually. Whisper quiet as stated. Just the right amount of output. I am so disappointed!Update: The company was made aware of my experience and sent me a new diffuser. Lasts about 5 hrs and helps fight the air conditioning chapping with a lovely essential oil scent that fills the small space it's placed in. It began to infuse and made my house smell funky. So I had to toss them. Sad because I was looking forward to the peppermint for christmas. The sweet orange smells amazing. I will have to try another brand as these scents have been not so good. :( The scents were okay June 6, 2016 I like the set and how it was shipped. The box the oils came in was also very nice! I just wish the choices in the oils were a little better. I mean, I knew what I was getting, but it was just ideals didn't quite meet expectations. The lemongrass is very, very strong so I recommend just two drops max if you're water container holds roughly a cup. The smell was so overwhelming that it actually triggered a horrible headache. I gave that scent away. The lavender is lovely and I don't quite enjoy the tea tree oil. Overall the oils were okay, the packaging was great though! The box was bent or broken neither were any of the bottles. Just as a heads up, the droppers basically pour the contents out and don't work well as a "dropper". Got jipped on the sweet orange oil!!! April 26, 2016 First I'll start with that I love the smell of all of these oils but this is my first time buying essential oils so I have no reference to go by. I've bought two boxes because my first box I ran out of the sweet orange by the 3rd time I used it o I thought I had just used more then I thought and it was cheaper to get this kit then to just buy the sweet orange by itself. When I received the second kit I was just checking all the bottles and smelling them and noticed that the sweet orange only had half the amount of oil then the other bottles. So guess it wasn't user error and there not putting as much in the sweet orange as the other. Guess next time I'll just have to order the sweet orange seperatly. On occasion I will fill it, and after 5 to 25 min hear a beep. That beep means that the unit has shut off. .. Sometimes it will work fine if it is simply restarted. Other times it beeps again after 30 seconds and stops. Not sure of the issue that causes this. The diffusion comes out at an angle towards the controls on the front of the unit and seems to fall immediately. If it "fired" upwards it may work better for my desired use. It was easy to use and the colors are appealing but I don't seem to smell the lemon scent unless I'm pretty close to the diffuser. I used a little more than that by mistake due to the type of spout the oil had. But it seems like I should have used even more. I have had many diffusers both at work and home and am very familiar with these machines. This one was just not up to par in my opinion. Initially it worked okay. It is small and what I would consider a personal diffuser. This needs to be close to you in order for you to receive any sort of benefit or scent from it. After few uses it would only run for a few minutes before it started incessantly beeping. After adding or removing water, cleaning the machine, letting it dry over night and every other tool in my arsenal for troubleshooting I gave up the ghost and this product hit the trashcan where it belongs. Knowing what I know now I would not purchase this again, or recommend it to any one else. Save yourself the trouble, purchase a higher quality diffuser that will ultimately last longer.
