Best thing to ever happen to my lawn
May 8, 2017
I've had it for two years now and it's still a work horse of a product. I have a very large back yard as well as front yard and 30 yard long by 15 feet wide grass on each side of the house. And the sidewalk grass on the front and side of the house because I have a corner lot. It gets the entire job done in under an hour for me. Gas mowers are ridiculous and I've cut to many cords on electric ones. Mower save souch time and I have battery power left as long as I cut my grass every two weeks

So far so good. I've used it around four times and its worked flawlessly. I use it to cut various places around the yard that I can't get too with the big mower and it usually takes 20-25 minutes and I have not had any problems with the battery quitting before I'm done. Also the grass I'm cutting is usually quite tall, I have the mower set at one back from the highest setting and tilt the mower back slightly if necessary to get started in each area. The battery charges quite quickly, usually under 2 hours. I notice some other reviewers have had problems after several months or the following year, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
A Hidden Bush Hog

I purchased this product because I didn't want to fuss with gasoline, oil and everything that goes with typical gas powered lawn mowers. I hate yard work - immensely. The last thing I want is to be out there any more than I have to with a malfunctioning or faulty piece of equipment. I also hate spending a fortune on someone else cutting my lawn so I purchased a full set of GreenWorks lawn equipment on Amazon. The results have been spectacular! In addition to hating yard work and being lazy, I am also rough on equipment. I'll give a human TLC but I expect to throw machinery at anything and watch it muscle through. If you look at the pictures attached you will see some of what I put my lawn mower through. The grass was up to the knees! Keep in mind that you can't just power through in a straight line. You have to be sophisticated at work it a little with the bag on but it will chomp it all down just the same. So, if your lawn looks normal and just needs a little off the top then this mower will run with the best. Light, easy to handle and lasts a good while on a charge (I bought multiple equipment so I ended up with 3 batteries). If you are like me then this will also get the job done but know that the more you ask of it the faster the battery will drain trying to accomplish the task. On a standard size lot once I get the grass short (again!) I can hedge trim; weed eat the entire perimeter, driveway and walkway; mow front and back; and blow all hard surfaces on three fully charged batteries in 45 minutes.
I am truly astonished and completely taken by surprise!

Six star amazing!Ordered yesterday: received today.I'm a 66 year-old male. I've been in a power wheelchair for 10 years from a severe case of Guillain-Barre syndrome that left me with a 45% total body disability rating. The GBS left me with about 50% of normal grip strength bilaterally and nerve damage and loss of strength in my forearms as well.A neighborhood teen has been mowing my yard for years using his lawn tractor.Just yesterday, a landscaping crew finished installing 150 feet of sidewalk across my front lawn and down the sides of my house. The walk is made from a combination of a pea gravel bed between staked, treated 2 X 4's and over 500 12 X 12 concrete step stones form Lowes. Red and white checkerboard pattern. I can now do yard work and not track in dirt on my wheelchair wheels.Well, it occurred to me that I would not want my yard boy riding the lawn tractor over my walkways so, after researching all the options, I bought this mower for HIM to use.Well, when it arrived this morning, I cut the box open to get to the charger and batteries so that I could have them ready for him. When the larger battery charged fully in about thirty minutes, I thought I would see how powerful the mower was with a brief test push.To my UTTER ASTONISHMENT and PURE DELIGHT, I was not only able give it a "test push," but, steering my power wheelchair with my right hand on the joystick and the mower with my weakened left hand and arm, I was able to mow my entire front lawn! The mower is TRULY that light and maneuverable! I'll get the back yard tomorrow - and not because the battery gave out but because my out-of-shape arm did. I have a 1,517 square foot house on a 5,00 square foot lot, by the way. When I removed the large battery immediately after mowing, I returned it straight to the charger. Not only was it not too hot be recharged, it was barely warm after mowing in 91 degree southeast Georgia summer heat. It was fully recharged in 30 minutes. It made less noise than my bathroom fan or rangehood fan and had plenty of power for my overdue centipede lawn gone to seed. For the wheelchair bound who have retained full upper body nerve function and strength this thing will be a snap - including the 20 inch model. I'm handling my 19 inch model with ease. For wheelchair bound users with even less strength than me, there is the 16 inch model.I can get by with the handle as is but I will be looking to modify the handle slightly to better suit my needs from the seated position in the wheelchair.NOTE TO GREENWORKS: I represent a tremendous market among the disabled for this mower. PLEASE consider making an optional handle configuration that is ergonomically right for thousands of potential users in power wheelchairs.By the way, no longer needing my lawn boy, I will easily recoup the cost of this mower in one full growing season. This thing represents a whole new ball game in cordless mowing and a near miracle for the wheelchair bound. SO FAR, I highly recommend it.Jay MorenoSt. Marys, GA3/16/2016I just mowed my lawn first time of the season. The mower is still going strong with no problems whatsoever.
Go Green!

I've had this for a couple of months now and can finally give my review. As you can see, I love it.The setup couldn't have been easier unless someone else did it for me. Slice the box open at the 4 corners to make it easier to remove from the box (my back was bothering me at the time of delivery), unfold the handle and away you go. The batteries even had a half charge or more in them so I was able to try it out right away. After a little test, I put both batteries on the chargers (I bough an extra charger - I highly recommend this) and they were ready when I was able to cut the grass a couple of days later. The first cut. Before the Twin Force arrived, the yard had only been cut once this season - by a gas mower that to be thrown out due to the metal deck having rotted out (I've had it for more than 10 years). The grass in the back yard is much different than the grass in the front. I started in the back (about 3,600 square foot), which has stronger grass blades, and a large amount of broad-leaf weeds, and several places where the grass growth is very dense. Having read that this mower isn't meant for hacking away at overgrown lots, I took it pretty easy this first cutting. I used the bagger and had the deck height up to 4, and I overlapped about 2/3 each pass, and walked fairly slow. It cust most of the yard quite well, but the dense area looked like it needed a second pass. Just before finishing the back yard, the big battery ran out. But, I had been running the motor without cutting while I let the dogs try to get use to it, and other things. It's very light! My last mower was a self-propelled, but that was really only needed due to its weight, and maybe navigating around some obstacles on a tough hill. The Twin Force is so light that I don't miss the propulsion at all. It's like pushing a seed broadcaster. The bagger is nicely balanced and easy to carry to the bin and empty. For the front yard first cut, I put the little battery in and used the mulcher. The grass in the front yard is rather whispy and I lowered the deck down to 3. The mower feels lighter without the bag (especially since it doesn't get heavier as you go), but it seemed to not have as much suction to lift the grass. The front is about 1/4 the size of the back yard and the battery lasted without issue.A word about noise. I kept reading about how very quite this is, yet when I watch the videos, it sounds quite noisy. Well, microphones do pick up a lot, and they all seemed to be done inside of some structure with bare floors and walls. My experience is that it is much quieter than the gas engine it replaced, but maybe a little louder than I imagined it would be. Down side is that I can still hear the neighborhood dogs barking and the neighbors' gas engine mowers over this. The second cut: I was nervous taking the mower out of the shed. Some other reviews mentioned that after the first real use. a wire pulls a connector loose and the mower doesn't work. This did not happen to me.This time I used the mulcher in the back yard with a deck height of 3. I again felt like it wasn't getting as much suction, so I tried deck height of 2 and it seemed to improve. But, I prefer bagging and stopped using the mulcher after this cutting. This trip had less interruptions (not having to stop for bag emptying and dogs, etc.) and the battery lasted just fine. I got about 5 minutes into the front yard on this battery before I had to switch. I walked a little faster in the back yard this time, and overlapped about 3/4. The cut was mostly clean but I think there is still a little lack of suction to pull the blades all the way up for cutting when mulching. I''m curious how the suction (with the bagger) will be in the fall when we normally use the mower to chop up leaves and bag.The front yard cut better this time with a deck height of 2 and the bagger on.Third cut: I started in the front yard this time, but the battery only lasted for half of it. I put the big battery in and it worked fin. The only thing I could think of was that I didn't have the battery fully seated in the charger. I have a couple of issues with the chargers. You really have to push to make sure the battery clips fully into position (harder than you have to do in the mower I think). And I wish that I didn't have to use both hands to remove the batter from the charger. You have to depress the latch completely to the bottom while pulling the battery out at the 40° ish angle. So, I used the big battery to do the front yard and was able to complete the back yard with that same battery. Both yards were cut with a height of 2 and the bagger. The grass seemed to cut cleaner this time. I walked a normal pace and overlap was closer now.Fourth cut: This time I put both batteries in the mower to start off. I don't know which battery was in use, but about 1/3 the way through with the back yard, I heard it switch over to the other battery, so I guess it used the little one first. I don't know why, but I think I prefer having only one battery in at a time.Fifth and sixth cuts have been completed and all accomplished with ease thanks to the light weight and not having to put gas in the tank or check the oil. I'm a gear-head, so I like engines and things, but it sure is nice not having to mess with a finicky engine on a lawn mower.A Tip: Wear gardening or work gloves. The foam handle leaves a strange smell on your bare hands. It's better than having gasoline smell on your hands though.Part of me wishes that my corded string-line trimmer would die so that I could buy the Greenworks 40v trimmer. I would buy it with the extra battery and charger - basically the trimmer is free when you buy the battery and charger.I wonder if there are any plans for a snow thrower?
Excellent mower as long as you aren't lazy
April 20, 2014
NOTE: This is for the 20" mower only! Apparently Amazon merged several mower sizes into this one product. My wife and I wanted a mower that wasn't as loud and noisy as a gas mower, didn't require burning oil, and didn't vibrate as much. This mower fulfilled all of our wishes. We have a 1/3 acre lot, and this mower with two batteries works just fine. The only time we need to recharge the batteries half way through mowing is when we wait way too long between mowings, and the motors need to do some extra work to chop down the tall weeds. This mower is fairly easy to push, since it is much lighter weight than a gas mower. We also bought the electric trimmer that uses the same battery system, so we were sure to buy that kit with an extra charger and battery. Sometimes we use the extra battery, but it is nice to have just in case. Overall, I would buy this again and am quite satisfied.Update 5/17/2014-Still using this mower all the time, and it still works great. I've taken to only using one battery at a time, and keeping the other on the charger while mowing. Not sure it makes a difference, but I like it anyway to take a little break while mowing to switch batteries. When done mowing, I do tip the mower on its side and clean the underside. Some more expensive mowers have a water hose attachment to clean the underside, but I'm not sure I would spray water into the motor on this unit. :-) Using a stick works just as well, and seems to keep things working better.Update 9/25/2014-So, I may have let the lawn go a little. I ignored the grass for a few weeks thanks to overtime at work, family matters, and just generally being lazy when I got home. The grass in the back yard made it up to a good 8-10" tall. I thought for sure I would need a gas mower to power through that. Sure enough, my battery powered greed thing powered through it. Sure, I had to empty the silly bag way more often than I wanted (I never mulch), but the mower never stopped mowing because it was too thick. I'm still impressed, and still happy. Only thing I'm looking for is a grinder to sharpen the blades. Apparently a set of two replacement blades cost less than a "jackson" on Amazon with Prime shipping. I've found if I wait until the afternoon to mow when the grass is more dry, there is no need to clean the underside of the mower. Still 100% satisfied with this device, and 100% recommended.

Great little mower.
April 17, 2017
Fantastic little mower!I got tired of clogged carbs every spring - even with Stabl - so I bought an electric many years ago.It never liked high grass and I got tired of dragging a long cord out to the nether regions of the yard and having to free it from some entanglement or another. Neighbor got a similar mower and I decided to give this one a try.Minor niggle - wish they'd charged the batteries up before shipping - they take a while to get a full charge.Mower runs great - just plows right through some fairly tall grass. I did get a beep telling me about it.Mulching is the best I've seen - I won't be using the bag.It looks like the batteries are sufficient for the entire front and back and might not even have to hit the second battery! The twin blades make a pleasing change to the drone of a standard mower. Did I mention this thing is easy to push? The one thing I wish was better is the height adjustment - it's a simple lever that works against the weight of the machine making it tough for my wife to change.
Needs better height adjustment

I don't usually like to write reviews, but I felt the need. I am very happy with the lawnmower, But, it doesn't go low enough for my yard in So. Ca. I tried to call customer service to see if they sold smaller diameter wheels that I was willing to pay extra. Customer service was a joke, don't waste your time. I don't know who would mow anything on the highest setting with a battery operated lawn mower. Other than trying to mow a little lower, I love it. I'll try and find some smaller diameter wheels. Update, 6/16/16, I finally found smaller diamater wheels, 1 inch diamater all the way around. The more I use it, the better I like it. I would have said 5 stars if there were a smaller wheel set available and Green Works had a better customer service department. A 9 inch wheel for the rear was the hardest to find to replace the 10 inch wheel. Update 1/26/17. I really like this mower. It's not for mowing the back 40, but it works great for my yards. Approximately 3,000 sq. ft. My neighbors made fun of me at first, now they want one. Like I said in the first post, I had to find smaller diameter wheels to lower it. Manufacturer should consider this as an option.
Good electric mower
May 23, 2016
Had this product for awhile now. I love the batteries. Comes with one large and one small battery. Even the small battery can get about 80% of my yard done. The larger battery has no problems going through the entire yard. Had a couple hiccups with the release not turning off the mower when I first got it. Required me to remove the battery to shut it off. Dangerous but it resolved itself.Goes through grass easily, even after I neglected my lawn for a few weeks it chewed through the high grass with very little complaint. Not very heavy at all to maneuver and easy to adjust the height for cutting. I never use the bag attachment so can't comment on that but the yard looks great after cutting.Best part is I finish much faster without having to move the cord around as now I can go anywhere and use the most efficient route.Update - after a couple seasons the mower and batteries are still going strong
Used it once so far. Seems good.

Review for the 19 in. model 25223.First use was great. Mower is super quiet. I actually thought something might be wrong with it when I fired it up because it's so quiet. Not the case. Cut my grass just fine. I moved in to my new place in November and I don't know when the last time it was cut but by January I figured I need to get a mower. This did the trick with no problem. And it only took 1 battery to mow my little under 1/4 acre property. Only issue was after doing the back yard and emptying the grass catcher 3 times, I went to do the front and the opening for the grass catcher was clogged so it mulched the front yard by default. This did not affect the quality of the cut, just that it mulched instead of bagging like I wanted. I may not need to use it again for a while since it's "winter" here in Florida right now. I will update.
Quiet Lawn Mower
May 12, 2015
Purchased this Lawn mower for our medium sized yard. When I used it for the first time the neighbors looked at me like what is she doing because the sound is so minimal! I liked that it is light and I can handle it. I also loved that I only have to hit a button to turn it on. I read most of the reviews and was still curious if it would be right for me. The landscapers who placed our lawn did not do a very good job and I have a lot of uneven spots. The lawn mower found those spots and I struggled with them but after a few mows I figured out the correct height adjustments and worked around the bumps. It does not tackle the weeds as I would have liked so I had to go back and pull them myself. Overall it is a good fit for me as I know nothing about lawnmowers and I did not want to get involved with gas and tuneups that a traditional gas mower has. The battery charges very quickly and lasts for about 2 mows. The one thing I did notice is that I used only one battery the very first mow and the power was good but the next time I used both batteries and the power was increased. The one thing I did not like about the mower is the instructions aren't very clear and the handle I feel could be better putting together. It was not hard putting it together just the knobs are not very sturdy i almost broke one of them. Overall I am happy with my purchase it does the job and keeps my lawn looking nice.
good mower, greenworks 'tech support' is lacking
March 9, 2015
Owned this mower for two years and I love it, right up until it didn't start this year. Did some investigating and decided to order a new switch that is on the body of the mower (under the cover). Unable to find the greenworks part # for the switch I contacted greenworks for 'troubleshooting'. The only help I got was that I needed to order a new 'cable' (the cable that is connected from the pull back handle down to the switch I mentioned earlier) even though I had repeatedly told them that the mower would not start depsite manually depressing the switch by hand. I requested it least twice on the phone to be transferred to a tech to help me test each component of the mower with a multimeter - but the only response i got was how i needed a new cable.Greenworks must only train their customer support on that ONE cable as a solution, that was the only response i got from the company both on the phone and on email. If your 25302 suddenly stops working, replace the power switch board (part # 36202486-1 $4.92 at ordertree.com), that's what fixed mine. Don't bother calling greenworks, unless your cable really is the culprit. i also ordered the switch just as a precaution ( part # 36301289).Now I'm mowing again, yay!

Using this with 2 batteries, (it uses 1 at a time) only last MAYBE 10 minutes (not each but using one after other)
October 9, 2016
I can't say this is a bad mower because it isn't. I am disabled below right knew amputee. And I got this hoping since I can't walk, I could do like I do with walker, just walk behind, and if not mistaken it gives you like maybe 4 levels of cutting, which I do the closest to the ground so not to have to mow 2 days later. and it does cut really REALLY nice. Only there are 2 slots for both batteries. You have only 1 at a time switched on, which I did. Not even 5 minutes went by and 1st battery died, same for 2nd batter. I haven't used mower since. One reason (not the fault of the mower but my stump and back was hurting real bad trying to mow. However I also bought a weed eater which they all are suppose to take same batterie. I bought 3 batteries. I'm thinking they are same size. When I ordered I'm assuming I ordered the same, they all were 40 and it said they fit weed eater, but only 1 of the batteries was easy to get out (remove) from the weed eater, the other 2 got stuck and took my little girl and me sometimes a whole day to try to get battery out of weed eater so we could charge battery. And even when using weed eater, the battery didn't stay charged but 5 minutes. So had to borrow someone's gas lawn mower. I really REALLY wish that batteries would stay charged, because it is a really good mower and weed eater. But its no use if I can't use. So now I have to try and see if i can find someone to buy mower, 3 batteries, Charger, Weedeater and all those strings I bought, or they can trade me for something. No I never contacted seller because I'm assuming, there's nothing they can do about the life span of the battery, if there is however I hope they contact me and work with me and if they do I will change the stars.
Good for good lawns...
August 6, 2016
The Good: If your lawn is generally in good shape, this mower will probably work great for you. You're probably the kind of person who pulls weeds, rakes, clears rocks prior to cutting, and cuts the yard 2-3 times before your neighbor realizes the weeds in his yard look like the patchy "beard" of a 17 year old boy. This mower will work fine, providing you with quiet and leisurely mowing for many years to coming. And with the added benefit of some light exercise as you wave at your suburban neighbor.Reality: If your lawn has seen better days. You mow ever 1-2 weeks during peak growing season and you are a regular contender in the battle between the forces of good (grass) and evil (weeds), this mower will be a useful tool. It is not as powerful as a gas mower, but it is quieter and lighter. It's very easy to start and navigate. The downside is that it doesn't have much suction, so you'll probably miss an occasional tall weed. But have no fear, you can back-up and take him out fairly easy. Just make sure you don't cut while the grass is damp, and you'll be in good shape. The UGLY: If you have a lawn that resembles more of a repurposed junkyard, with the occasional patch of grass among the baby trees (weeds?); and your lawnfidence (mixer of lawn and confidence) makes you only consider cutting the grass when you're sure "the city" is going to issue you a citation; people have used your lawn as a mine-field - digging holes, discard chunks of concrete, brick, lumber, random rocks, and toys; you only en devour to cut the grass in the cool of the morning; YOU'RE TOAST. This thing is NOT for you. You'll spend several days trying to knock your "grass" down, separated by day-long sessions of battery chargings. You'll notice that the only way to get through the yard at any pace is to use the bag, which gets full (or otherwise clogged) every two lines. For that matter, you'll be unclogging the wet grass from the discharge port every 10-15 feet. And those weeds? Well, not matter how many times you run them over and reverse, you'll never actually cut them because the suction on the unit... well... sucks - but not like you want it to. And being the impatient person you are, you'll want to run the mower on the lowest setting, which isn't really that low to begin with, only to find that where it "cuts" isn't low at all. And where it missed is just terrible. 3 days later, you will have met the city's requirements on lawn height, but you will have blown the whole weekend. If you just cut it again next weekend, you could do it all in one afternoon and you'll have a chance at cutting all the weeds. But alas, you won't, and you'll be back in a battle. You, my friend, need a gas-powered mower.I have had this for 6 months. I have one more cutting day before I've finished my "yard'. I promise to mow next weekend...

June 9, 2016
I bought the model 25302 mower and model 21332 string trimmer 13 months ago and loved it until the batteries lost their ability to hold a charge. It is only used from May to Oct and only to trim around my home so I don't have to get close to the house with the lawn tractor, as well as to edge the property at the street.. When new I could do it with the larger battery alone. I kept the batteries properly charged this winter but first time out it needed both to do the job and now a month later I can't even do the job with both batteries freshly charged. I can't imagine how disappointing it would be if I was actually using it for more than mowing the perimeters and trimming. Otherwise, it cuts pretty well and if the batteries lasted more than a year it would get more than three stars.
Got a replacement after the first one had problems
July 14, 2015
I have some mixed feelings, but I still feel basically satisfied.MANUFACTURING QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE: After a few uses l I couldn't get it to start. I just got blinking red lights when I tried to start the mower. I wasn't particularly upset, but I wanted a solution so I called the Greenworks customer service people. They asked about my location and found out I was not near a service person who could replace a circuit board. The next-best solution they proposed was shipping me a completely new mower and allowing me to keep the old one for spare parts. Not a bad deal for me since mowing isn't a top priority. Shipping took about one week and now I'm the proud owner of 4 batteries and 2 chargers (that would cost like $200 retail for those spare parts). Another positive is that the old law mower started again when I tried it a few days later. Obviously I don't feel super confident in the quality of the first mower I purchased. I also don't have overwhelming confidence in the second mower since the first one malfunctioned so quickly. I hope one of the two can last five years. Overall I feel like the customer service experience was positive, but I'm not so sure about the manufacturing quality.MOWING PERFORMANCE: I haven't used many mowers; maybe 3 or 4. When I was a kid I pushed a large mower that was heavy but somewhat self-propelled. I hate mowing the lawn as a kid because it was too hot in Texas and my parents had a lot of fruit trees with low hanging limbs. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that gas-powered mower I used as a kid cut grass more reliably. For example, I don't remember having to cut the same path/row of grass twice, but maybe I just paid less attention as a kid to how effectively the mower was working. I wasn't trying to do a stellar job of it. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest, where the weather is much nicer. I actually kinda like mowing the lawn. Unlike the gas-powered mower of my memories, these GreenWorks mowers frequently need two passes to cut large weeds down. Sometimes it seems like the mower just knocks down the tall weeds without cutting them, and then the next day the weed has stood itself back up again. It's not a big deal since my yard is fairly small and the mower is so easy to start. I can just start it up and take another shot at the tall weeds for 5 minutes.Another positive is that the mower is quieter than most mowers I've used in the past.
Worked great until this June when it just stopped working
June 26, 2015
I purchased this lawnmower in April of 2015. Worked great until this June when it just stopped working. I have a small sodded lawn less than .25 acres flat as a pancake no hills or gullies. Cut the grass once a week. I must say I really like the quit operation of the mower it's easy to start and has plenty of battery to cut my entire yard with enough charge left to use one of the two 40v batteries in my GreenWorks grass trimmer with battery power to spare (grass trimmer still works great, no issues). So all was well until it just got up and stopped working. I must say I was a bit disappointed since I had cut almost my entire lawn except for few strips of grass down the side yard when it quit. I called the GreenWorks service center and got through right away; very nice customer service rep she gave me the nearest service center and said it would be fixed at no charge. Turns out the Circuit Board and Switch went bad on the mower. Its going to be two weeks before I get my mower back. I guess I'll have to ask my neighbor for a hand until then....a little humbling. In all fairness I do like the mower but I'm not sure if it's fully ready for prime time. I do hope they get the kinks out or maybe I just got a lemon but I felt it was important to share my honest review with people considering this machine. And just to be clear had the machine kept working as it should have without any mechanical issue I would have given it 5 stars. I really do like it otherwise.
Needs Both Batteries for 1/8 Acre
June 9, 2015
This is my second GreenWorks mower. I sold the first one with my last house. This new one is not as high of quality. My flat yard is maybe 1/8 of an acre and it takes both batteries to get it done. If your grass is the tiniest bit damp, forget it. The mower will just shut off. It struggles in some parts of the yard where I know the grass is thicker. I will continue to use it until it breaks, but will no longer support this company.

it was great but again
May 27, 2017
BUYER BEWARE! Customer support is non-existent and the batteries do not last longer than 6-9 months. The lawn mower runs for 20 to 25 minutes max after they failed. When trying to contact the company, the experience was abysmal. Customer service will just put you on hold for hours on end and once you do reach their overseas support, will not resolve your problem. I gave it two stars because when it worked, it was great but again, the batteries died abruptly. I never left the batteries in the charger and they were always stored indoors.
When it works great, when it doesn't good luck.
May 3, 2017
Worked fine the first several mows of the season. Then one morning it would not start. The batteries work fine, but the mower just acts like it has no power. When I contacted the manufacturer I was informed I must take the mower to the nearest certified repair shop, well the nearest one is nearly 3 hours away from where I live. I asked if it was possible to ship it to them at my cost, and they said no it must go to a repair shop. It is unfortunate but 6 hours round trip driving to hope that the repair shop can service it, then another 6 hours round trip to retrieve it is unacceptable. I loved the mower when it worked, but the customer support is extremely lacking.
UPDATE: must cut same area twice to ensure all grass is cut
April 9, 2017
UPDATE: I've used the mower about four times and still have issues with the mower leaving uncut grass. I sharpened the blades and am still experiencing this issue. I believe the twin blades are the cause thus there Is no way to fix the issue. I continually cut the same area twice to ensure all the grass is cut. Reducing the rating to 2 stars. If the mower didn't leave uncut grass behind, this product would receive 4 stars. I would not rate this more 5 stars due to the small bag and battery duration. Both batteries combined lasts about 1hr.Review after 1st use: This is a good product. Its not as loud as a gas mower and is eco friendly. i only have two concerns: 1) the bag is small. I have a small yard and had to empty the bag 4 times. With this being the beginning of the season my grass was a little taller than normal. 2) there were uncut grass spots left in my yard. I noticed a few uncut areas in the tall grass where i had just cut. I'm not sure if this is because the motor didnt speed up until i was a foot or two into cutting the heavier patches of grass or if having two blades the grass was just missed by the lawn mower.I will update this comment at the end of the season
Not a good start
March 26, 2017
I will probably edit this review after I have used the mower a couple of times. First, the assembly instructions are lacking. The pictures do not adequately depict what few words are being used to describe assembly steps. I finally found some help on youtube. When mowing, I was surprised how much effort I had to put into pushing it. What a workout. And I have a very small front yard and a backyard that is only about 35 x 20. I had it set to do mulching but my grass was really just starting to grow and I had the mower height set to the second highest level. I didn't want to take much off the first time. Also, the cut was not as precise and clean as with a gas mower. When done, I turned the mower on its side and was surprised to see two blades that were only about 8 or nine inches long. I will give the mower a couple more tries but I have a feeling things aren't going to get better as the grass grows more and the turf thickens. I may have to punt and buy a gas mower.
I had high hopes for this mower but ended up very disappointed
August 8, 2016
I had high hopes for this mower and really wanted to like it.... after all we had great luck with another mower from this company (except it was the corded model) in addition to the great reviews I read. However, this mower has been a constant source of disappointment and frustration since we got it.It actually ran pretty decently at first (in terms of the batteries). However, that quickly went away. After about 3 weeks of having it, both of the batteries would die within 20-30 minutes if are lucky. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have to stop and recharge the batteries 2-3 times just to mow our yard once.... and we don't even have a big yard. What should take maybe an hour turns into a day long ordeal. I understand that batteries don't last forever and lose their charge capacity over time.... but good lord they should have lasted longer than a month!Another issue is that, even if we overlapped the rows when mowing, there would be random spots of grass that apparently wasn't clipped so there would be ugly random patches of long grass that we would have to go back over. Finally, another big issue we've been having is that grass tends to clump up around the blades (no matter how hard we try to keep it clear). And yes it would do this even with the grass being very dry.Overall, as said before, I really had high hopes for this mower after our positive experience with the last model. However, I really REALLY regret my decision on buying this. My wife and I have been trying to be economically responsible by buying green products.... but boy oh boy that responsibility comes at a cost both of finances and convenience. We have learned a very inconvenient and EXPENSIVE lesson and will be returning to using gas powered mowers. To potential buyers - I applaud you wanting to be economically responsible but I don't know that it's worth it. Sooner or later the batteries will lose their juice and you'll have to replace them.... and they are EXPENSIVE!
like above 3 inches tall or so thick grass
June 5, 2016
The mower is under-powered for anything substantial, like above 3 inches tall or so thick grass. The twin blade design in a 20 inch deck means you get an uneven cut, which will require several passes to address. The 20 inch deck means it won't fit in tighter areas, so you get no benefit whatsoever. The mower seems tolerably solid otherwise, but QA on the batteries and the chargers is just plain bad. I figured initially I could get two more 4a batteries and have enough to do the front and back yards -- but so far, two batteries and one charger failed completely. Note, at over $100/each now, a bad battery is a serious loss. The batteries also degrade in performance rapidly. Now, with the remaining 2a and 4a battery, I get maybe 1.5 hrs of mowing.I'm honestly down to looking to see if an extension cord can be plugged into one of the battery bays, or selling this to someone with a smaller yard.

4 Months of Use - Subpar
September 14, 2017
I have been using this mower all summer, and while I was pleased at first, I am less than impressed now.Pros-Battery life is still rock solid, I have an 120' x 60' lot and have never run out of power-The start up is a snap, no more gas fumes!-Bagging is easy-It's lightweight and easy to manuever-Height adjustment is easyCons-Severe lack of power. I have sharpened the blades, but the mower tends to push the grass just as much as it cuts the grass.-The mower's ability to adjust the power on the fly, so as to give more juice when in thicker areas, has ceased to function at all.-Everything, except for the electronics, is made of plastic. So it flexes and squeeks when pushing at normal speeds.-I have to mow most of my lawn twice. This was not the case earlier in the year when I bought it, but the motor seems to be losing power.I was mostly satisfied (4 stars), with this product in early summer. But it is not working as described, after less than one mowing season, here in Michigan. Due to it not functioning properly or efficiently as described, I cannot recommend this product.
Don't buy this mower
September 8, 2017
I purchased this mower after reading many positive reviews on Amazon and other sites. I have two major problems with this mower. First, there is a gap between the two blades so you wind up with a narrow strip of grass that is not cut with each pass of the mower. Second, the bag hangs too low on the mower and will scrape the ground as it collects grass. My garden home lawn was being cut today. Both fully charged batteries died when only 60% of the lawn was cut. Do yourself a favor and buy another battery powered mower.
I called the worst customer service I've ever experienced
August 28, 2017
WENT UP IN SMOKE IN LESS THAN A YEAR. This thing broke down from LIGHT USE in less than a year. I have a small backyard and I get to use this twice a month, and in a span of 11 months or 20 use (or less because winter), smoke came out of it and it and it shut down. I was afraid of going near it for the fire hazard RECALL that they have for this unit. I called the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and they said this broken machine is not part of the RECALL, and wanted me to drive to have it checked and "REPAIRED", Yes, the same unit that could've exploded, and they will have the audacity to send it home to you again with the hopes of it not burning your house. 400$ is not worth your time wasted on an underpowered machine that can be a risk from your health.
Very poor customer service from Amazon, and pathetic S&H arrived broken!!!
August 27, 2017
Perhaps the concept is right but the other parts of the delivery are a failure. Crunched box was delivered blocking my front door, and thought "It's s a lawn mower it can't be hurt by scrappy shipping!" Boy was I WRONG!!!I could not lift it but had to rip open on the top door step to be able to get in or out my front door. This meant ripping the box apart to get to the mower TO MOVE it so that I could get into my house!!Next step charge batteries and try out the mower...wrong!! Pulled handle and it made a horrible sound like a sledge hammer on cement...I was confused. Started looking over the mower again an noticed the plastic housing on top was busted clean away from the bolts that should have held it , and the mower base was bent in an egg shape. Not condusive to a round blade and when I tried to start it - this drove the blade into the side that was bent and cut clean in o the metal. I was sick because I had ordered it and paid for it, and had waited weeks for it- borrowing a lawn mower off and on until it arrived. So dissatisfied!Since I had a yard that Had to get mowed that night I pushed and got a hammer and tapped the blade out of the metal side and tapped the side back into a less egg shape enough so the blade would turn around withoutHitting the side.Finished the lawn and promptly tried to exchange it but thus turned out to be a JOKE from Amazon- never happened , they wanted me to return this one a nd ship me a replacement in Nov!! Hello!I really needed the new box to send this one back and I told them that...waste of time. We're willing to give me a "whopping" 30% off of the BROKEN one...what a deal...NOT!I had no way yo get a box to ship it back and told them so, oh well tried to then get the d discount and keep broken mower...Have used broken mower probability 6 -8 Times and the charger has quit working correctly.Charger shows the battery fully charged seconds after you place it on the charger. Frustration!! So the battery charge light showed zero charge- so figuring I had zero to loose at this point & I left it charge -in spite of what the charger said...and watched it, and the battery did manage to charge. What a disappointment on all levels in spite of the fact that it seems to cut the grass fair.
Do not buy
August 18, 2017
Do not buy. Batteries don't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes even when fully charged. I've had it for less than a month and am on only my second use and one battery has completely stopped holding a charge in spite of reading fully charged when placed on the charger. In spite of how this is advertised if you have anything larger than a 10' x 10' yard that has only very sparse grass this mower will not do the job. It is extremely weak and does a terrible job sucking in the clippings.
UNSAFE. DO NOT PURCHASE. Initially disappointed with the batteries, then it caught fire.
October 13, 2016
UPDATE: I've owned this mower for a little over a year and it literally just caught on fire this morning while I was using it. While I did not see any flames, the machine started emitting smoke and smelled like burning. I pulled out the battery, which was hot, because I was afraid the battery might overheat. I was disappointed with this machine before, but now I feel compelled to warn people that it might be unsafe. BUYER BEWARE.I purchased this mower (Greenworks 20-inch Twin Force) in early Spring of 2016 and after having had it a full season, I can honestly say that I regret the purchase. I wanted an electric mower to be environmentally friendly, and I still believe in that. However, I wish I had spent the extra $100 on the EGO electric mower because this thing has been a hassle. The batteries die really quickly and take many hours to charge. I have a lot that a little less than half (0.4) of an acre, including my house, and it takes 3 full sessions to mow all my grass. Because of how long it takes the batteries to recharge, that could mean multiple days of mowing. Also, only one of the two battery slots works on this thing (even though it's new!), so I have to manually swap batteries halfway through. The build quality is mediocre, and I thought I was going to break it while trying to assemble the handle. On the positive side, it is easy to start and quiet enough to listen to a podcast while mowing, which is nice. It does an okay (though not great) job of cutting tall grass. The mower also does not fold up at all so it takes up a fair amount of space in the garage. With the issues I've had this first year, I'm not confident that it will last more than 2-3 years, and I won't be purchasing this brand again.
