Super line-up of Battery powered tools!
February 18, 2017
This blower has worked out great for me. I am sure it will be passed in its ability but for now, I love it and believe that the GreenWorks products have been a great addition to my tools. The Weed Trimmer and Chainsaw that use the same batteries are also great tools. I would definitely recommend this line-up to others.
Increased convenience outweighed minor loss in power
May 31, 2016
I replaced my old corded electric Toro blower vac with this, and so was a little concerned about how much power I would be giving up. So far I have only used the blower portion, and I've not been disappointed. Yes, it is less powerful, but not to the extent that it hampers me in getting the job done - in fact it helps in some ways because small random swings of the blower is sending gusts of dust up around my head. The convenience of going cordless well outweighed the loss in power. I've always had just enough cord to blow down the sidewalk to the edge of my property, but not a step further, and it seems like every time I finish blowing off my sidewalk my neighbors yard crew comes in and blows all the stuff from his sidewalk onto mine (something I'm always careful to avoid doing. Well, with the cordless in hand, I took me an extra 30 secs to just blow down along in front of his house a little ways to prevent this. I was also not hampered by trying to follow an "out and back" route with the blower; with the cordless I was able to choose a more circuitous route, which ended up saving a fair amount of time.
Lightweight and Quiet, much better than a broom!
January 1, 2016
Several people warned me against getting a blower, but the fact is I needed one and this was the best portable unit I could find for the money. I did end up having to get serious face protection to wear while using it (don't even think of using it without a face mask), but all in all I think I made the right choice. It is really quiet, especially at the lower speeds. I was surprised though that the one thing it will NOT sweep away is a spider web. This was a great disappointment for me to learn, but it is not the DigiPro's fault. At least it takes away the spiders themselves.
Great blower that mulches as well
November 11, 2015
We just moved into a much larger home with lots of trees and patio area. I decided I needed a leaf blower and didn't want gas so I took a look at the local HD (you know who) and found that they indeed have Li ion leaf blowers. Looking here on Amazon I found the GreenWorks that vacuums and mulches. Decision made...Buy the GreenWorks 24322 because it blows and sucks.First impressions, WOW this thing is powerful! And that's before I found out it has a button right next to the on/off that kicks it up a notch. I use it to blow the leaves into a few small piles and then vacuum mulch up the leaves. The mulcher actually works very well on the leaves.I can't say anything about the manual because I was able to just snap things together right out of the box.I highly recommend this product.

April 12, 2015
I got the blower a few weeks ago and used it twice and it worked very well for the large patio and front porch. The third time it started to run and stopped and I could only get a steady beaping. I made sure the battery was fully charged, it was, and after looking for something that might be wrong, finally called the company. The steady beaping wasn't on the troubleshooting list and they asked for my zip code and said they would have me take it there for a warranty repair, it was almost 100 miles away and I said that wouldn't work. She said she'd talk to someone the next morning and call me. A "little" surprised, she called early the next morning and said they were sending me a new one. A few days later it arrived and it works great. The customer service was great and I love the blower for what I need it for, surprisingly powerful for a cordless blower and so handy just to grab and use to keep the patio cleaned off and looking sharp.
Nice Machine
November 30, 2013
This is my first Blower/Vac of any kind so I really have no basis for comparison. I was pleased with the performance. It has a low and high setting with a thumbwheel that goes from 0 to 5 -- so essentially you have 10 different speeds -- 5 in high and 5 in low. I have a garden railroad and wanted to blow leaves out of some delicate areas and it blows leaves just fine at the lowest setting. I only have one medium size tree in my yard -- a Japanese Zelkova that has small leaves. It vacuums the leaves very well. I had it set on high and the 3 setting and it vacuumed the leaves right up -- even some of which were wet. It mulches the leaves fairly fine which allows you to get a lot more in a yard waste bag. It's difficult to tell when the attached bag Is full, you just have to guess. The bag has a zipper on the side and it empties fairly easily. If you have a huge yard with lots of trees you might want to buy another battery or just take a break and save your energy for another day. The battery has a button on the side with 4 led lights that tells you the amount of charge remaining, which I found convenient. The power didn't seem to decline a whole lot when the battery started to get discharged. The item is a little pricey but the trade off is not having to drag an extension cord all over or mix gas and oil and worry about the thing starting which is worth it to me.

great product, better than 24282.
October 7, 2017
great product. I purchased the 24282 first, but then upgraded to this one after that one stopped working in a few weeks. I upgraded to this one due to not only the added vacuum function, but also hoping that blowing speed will help. the blowing power on this one is much stronger, so I am happy with that. (both works on the driveway, but this one works on the yard much better).A note on the battery: these blowers consume the battery quickly though.. I also have the lawnmower from greenworks and the 40V GMAX battery lasts much longer in the lawnmower. maybe this is normal, I don't know the science of it, it might be that lawnmowers may require less power.. but a fully charged battery gives me ~20 min on the blower function OR even less time on the vacuum function, while it lasts more than 30 mins on the mower (each time is given separately for a fully charged battery). So if you're gonna cut the grass for more than half hour and then expect to do 15-20 min of clean up etc., one battery may not do it. If you have a small yard it would be ok, otherwise you will need to recharge for a few hours and finish the job later (which is what I do, until I can invest in a spare battery).overall, I am happy with the Greenworks ecosystem, and considering investing in their snowblower too, with the same battery family..
Works but a bit weaker than I'd like
May 3, 2017
It works pretty well but it's weaker than the gas powered ones I've used. I had to turn it on full power to blow the leaves. I recommend getting another battery so you can swap it out in the middle of a job without stopping. The mulcher is pretty useless. I had to basically cover the leaves with the nozzle to get them vacuumed.
Great cordless leaf blower!
January 6, 2017
I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift. For the price, it can't be beat. It has plenty of power, something I was afraid might be lacking from a battery powered lawn tool. It does a great job! It is light weight enough for me to use, too. I will never admit that I had fun blowing leaves. NEVER! .... Don't tell my husband...
Overall this is a great leaf blower... the Vac feature was a little disapointing
December 7, 2016
Overall this is a great leaf blower... the Vac feature was a little disappointing.I have three large maple trees in my yard so we get a lot of leaves in the fall. The blower feature works great with plenty of power. When the leaves are dry a lower setting works just fine. If they are a little wet you can just turn up the speed. I found no need for the "turbo" speed while blowing leaves in the yard. It was useful to clean out the gutters though. There is also a funnel attachment that goes into the blower to provide a more concentrated stream of air for blowing wet leaves off of the driveway (or cleaning the gutters). If you have a large yard or you get a lot of leaves you will want more than one battery. I have a few GreenWorks products so I have three batteries that I can trade in and out while others are charging. The Vac feature was a little disappointing. I had a large amount of leaves that were slightly damp that I had just blown into a pile and I switched over to the Vac. The Vac ended up getting jammed with the wet leaves. It also sucks the leaves up rather slow. I found that I could bag them by hand faster. The Vac feature is nice for getting leaves out of the flower beds though, where a rake is hard to use and I don't want to use the blower and blow mulch everywhere. It does mulch very finely and the bag is nice and easy to clean out.
Great Cordless Blower/Vac
August 4, 2015
This is a battery powered cordless blower and thus it has its limitations. But it fits the bill for what I was looking for. I needed something to streamline the daily tree debris clean up chore. I have a redwood in the front yard and I need to sweep the drive pretty much daily. And our neighbors trees are constantly dropping debris on our back yard patio and pool area. I wanted a blower/vac that I could grab and use to do a quick clean up of this debris and the GreenWorks G-Max is pretty much what I wanted. I don't need the power and hassle of a gas blower and I wanted to be able to vacuum in the back yard because of the pool setting. And I didn't want the hassle of having to drag out my extension cords for my electric blower/vac for the daily chore of sweeping the drive and cleaning the patio and pool areas. This two-in-one cordless tool is perfect for these daily chores making them quick and easy going. I've been using the G-MAX40V Cordless blower/vac for several weeks and it makes it so much easier to do these daily chores. The blower/vac is well balanced and fairly lightweight for what you get out of it. The air flow is outstanding and the brushless motor as infinite variability between low and high making it very easy to control the debris as you sweep it up. It has a "turbo boost" mode that you use for vacuuming. By integrating this feature the batter lasts longer for blowing. You won't get a much time if you are using the vacuum mood with the "turbo boost." I have used gas blowers in the past but it's been a long time since I needed that kind of power for the around the house chores. I have used electric plug in blowers with vacuum modes for over 10 years. I will continue to use the plug in blower for my major yard work, but for my daily sweeping and cleanup the G-Max battery powered tool is perfect. Two issues: One is battery life. (Remember my opening line: "This is a battery powered cordless blower and thus it has its limitations.") In the blower mode there is more than enough battery life to get the job done for several days. But in vac mode the battery drains much quicker. I will be purchasing a second battery to deal with this. The second issue is that I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the vacuum bag. It has a looser mesh then my other electric blower/vac. Because of the looser mesh more dust escapes the bag and pine needles tend to penetrate the bag making emptying the bag a bit of a hassle.Overall I am very pleased with this product and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
Serious comparison to Craftsman 32cc yard blower/vacuum/bagger
February 21, 2015
Battery maintenance is everything with battery powered tools. The charger is not a "Battery maintainer" type. The Factory Rep told me to store the battery at 1/2 charge if the battery is not going to be used for long periods of time and not to leave the battery in the charger for long periods of time. Battery should be stored in warm location NOT in a freezing or cold location and not stored in its charger with the charger powered on or off. The battery life is not a factor if you typically will use this tool continuously on a single battery charge for less than 30 minutes at a time.Overall Review: This review is based on a comparison to my 32cc Craftsman 2-cycle gas powered blower with similar use features and a new battery at 100% charge. PROS: Convenient, reliable, simple and easy to use, light weight, no gas/oil mess/smell and long lasting battery (30 minutes of consistent pressure, blowing power drops off after that). CONS: After 30 minutes of use, blowing power and distance is reduced. For some, battery charge/use time. Excellent tool for removing lawn debris from sidewalks and driveway surfaces. Works well as a dirt/dust "sweeper" for the garage floor. Also, living in the North, this tool does extra duty by blowing light (less than 1/4" (6.0mm) snow off the walkways. As a yard vacuum it is equal to the Craftsman mentioned. The bagger feature works well but bag is somewhat smaller than the one compared to. I typically don't bag debris. Best use: Typical homeowner/renter, for those that do not want to deal with gas powered tools and gas/oil storage and for those in need of a light and simple easy to operate, blower. The reason I gave it only 4 stars because of my specific need as compared to the Craftsman mentioned. It does not handle 6 inches of leaves over a 1000 square foot lawn area on one single charge cycle. This would not be a factor for those with a second battery. I recommend owning a second battery at a minimum if you own other GreenWorks tools.

Excellent tools, work as described
June 9, 2017
I've been using Greenworks 12" chainsaw and/or this blower since 2013. Excellent tools, work as described. But the battery is so difficult to remove from the tool and from the charger, I'll never buy another. I have to use two hands, sometimes pound it on the floor, sometimes lock the chainsaw in a vice, and struggle with two hands to remove the battery.Just bought a DeWalt hedge trimmer; just press a button on the tool: it pops out. On the charger, it is not latched in: drop it in and pick it up.
Utility impaired by battery life
November 20, 2016
It's great to have a cordless leaf blower and vacuum/mulcher, but with battery life at 45-60 minutes on blow and 15-20 on suck, you have to plan your work carefully. (Extra batteries are very expensive, which is normal for this type tool/battery.) I usually do about 30 minutes blowing leaves into a pile, followed by around 5 minutes of vacuuming/mulching (I have a small yard; I'm also retired and can do half one day and the rest the next...) User manual was a little vague on some points, but I finally got it figured out. You have to remove and reconfigure fittings to go from suck to blow. If spare batteries were more affordable, I would probably give it one more star.
Jury is still out
June 2, 2015
I rated this vac/blower 3 stars as of now, but rating may go up. I've only used the machine 3 times so far, and only for sucking up leaves & mulching them. First time, it worked great. 2nd time, motor died. I thought it might be the battery, but the battery was fully charged. So, I thought perhaps it could be a poor connection with the collecting tube. I disassembled the collecting tube from the machine, put it back together again, and it worked great again. When it works, machine provides lots of power for my needs. Good suction. Plus, it's light weight and easy to handle. If the machine continues working without any problems, I would give it a 4.5 star rating. I deducted 0.5 stars because I find attaching the collecting tube to the motor relatively cumbersome. Plus, because the parts are plastic, I fear that with continued swapping between the collecting tube and blower tube that these plastic parts are likely to break in the future. You have to be careful when attaching these tubes. Other than that, I like the machine.
Brand new unit beeping! How I found and fixed the problem without taking it to a service center...
May 16, 2015
Seems to work OK - When it works...Got it over a month ago from Amazon. Ran it as a blower to clean out my garage. Ran Fine. Then it didn't...Tried to run it again this morning (second run) as a Vacuum and it would not start. It started beeping (but NOT running) and wouldn't stop until I hit the off button. Tried 3 batteries - no change. Tried reverting back to the blower attachments no luck. Called Greenworks. They said I had tried everything reasonable and that I would have to take it to a service center. I told them I didn't want some knucklehead taking a brand new unit apart in the hopes he could find something. They would not provide a new replacement so I figured I would try and fix it myself. (Better than some joker at a lawn parts store...)Anyway, I examined it carefully. Found interlocks on the suction side (bottom) and on the discharge (front). If I opened the bottom suction screen the unit wouldn't do anything at all. Close the suction screen up and it started beeping. I figured this meant that the bottom interlock was communicating properly with the unit. I then tried running the blower with nothing attached to the discharge (nozzle or bag). Since both these conditions resulted in the exact same beep error, I figured the nozzle/discharge interlock must not be effectively detecting the nozzle (or bag) attachment and that the beep code was trying to indicate "no nozzle/bag found". Too bad the company couldn't/wouldn't tell me exactly what the beep code meant...The nozzle/discharge interlock can be seen when looking directly into the discharge opening. It is a small metal plug at the top edge of the discharge opening. It is spring loaded and will be pushed back when the nozzle of bag is attached. I very carefully used a small screwdriver to push the spring loaded interlock back into the housing while trying to run the unit (while NOT looking into the discharge). Presto - the unit starts running. I exercised the switch back and forth a couple times (with the unit off) in the hopes this might help clear any debris/corrosion/etc from the switch and now it seems to be working fine. I didn't even have to take the unit apart!Hope this helps somebody if there unit is beeping. It would be nice if the company could simply suggest tweaking the switch a couple of times before they tell you to take down to some repair shop...
Good
December 16, 2014
Pros:The blower works great. The battery lasts between 40-60 minutes of non-stop use on speed 5. There are 5 speeds, 5 being the greatest and then there's a turbo speed. The turbo speed is for heavy debris and it works well but the blower will only last about 15 minutes max on this speed. When the battery dies the blower just quietly shuts off. I use it for blowing grass clippings, acorns, small twigs, dirt, leaves, etc. This is all very easily accomplished on speed 5. I find the speeds 1-3 to be useless other than using the blower in my garage to remove leaves which the lower speeds are good for so you're not creating a whirl wind effect.Cons:Even on speed 5 dirt/dust is hard to blow around when it starts to pile up. When i say pile up I mean a small mound, especially if there is other debris in there like leaves, twigs, etc. The mulcher on mine is useless and doesn't work with the oak leaves on my property. The battery is weird, it has to be snugly fitted on the charger precisely. I've come back to the battery dead or not fully charged if the battery wasn't "methodically" inserted on the charger. Weird I can't explain it but I don't think it's me.
Very good blower. OK for vacuum
October 20, 2013
As others have stated, it is a very good blower with plenty of power. The 40v 4AH battery lasts almost 45 minutes, depending on the power setting -- which depends on the type of leaves and condition. Two switches control on/off and hi/low, plus a variable dial for speed. Seems to me, they could have incorporated hi/low function into the speed control because having a separate hi/low switch is an extra step.At maximum power (needed for vacuuming) it only lasts 15 minutes, so I use extra battery packs from other G-Max tools I own.The suction is insufficient for some smaller/heavier leaves -- they get sucked in, but tend not to get discharged unless broader leaves are also used, even at maximum power. Also, needle-like leaves tend to get stuck underneath the sensor wire at discharge nozzle. For this reason, I would suggest getting the blower-only model if you do not need the vacuum function.FYI - I also use Toro 51609 blower/vac which is excellent! It is AC-corded, so it is pain to drag out extension cords, but it is more powerful and the work can be done in about third of the time compared to this GreenWorks DigiPro. I use the DigiPro cordless when it is too far from the outlet, though. The charger is disappointing. It wastes power even when not charging and they say to unplug it when not in use. It is a pain when several chargers are used. Two LEDs indicate power and charging status. There is a label wrapped around the plug that explain how to interpret the LED color and blinking status. This could have been better handled if they printed the marking next to the actual LED or just added a couple of LEDs.

Two stars for blowing power. Everything else about this unit is awful.
May 19, 2017
The reviews are correct: the vacuum function is inefficient, awkward, and EXTREMELY dusty. I tried making a "gasket" around the intake with gorilla tape and that did improve the dust leak there, only to emphasize how much dust comes out of the bag vent holes. I also HATE that the battery clips into the charger, these batteries are so heavy there is no concern about falling out. There should be a ejector spring on the batteries like Black & Decker.
Maximum power time too limited for most jobs needing it
January 28, 2017
I purchased this blower with the intention of using it to clear debris off of my gravel driveway. I have lots of tree debris such as pine cones and needles. In order to move pine cones and wet leaves, the blower needs to be on maximum power. Therein lies the problem: barely 9 minutes on a full charge at full power, then beep-beep-beep, low voltage warning. Time to get the rake...
Blower Good, Vacuum Mediocre, Battery Life Bad
December 3, 2016
First, I am a fan of Greenworks products. I have the chainsaw and have cut down 4 trees and finished cutting one all the way up and only used half the battery. This caused me to buy this when it was on Black Friday special.I fully charged the battery and used the blower to organize the leaves and got about 3/4 of the way done when it died. I assumed the battery was bad, but I had a backup so I switched them out. After finishing blowing, this battery died as well after vacuuming up about half a trash bag worth of leaves. I had a half charge on a third batttery and was able to finish off one bag of leaves and about 15% of my yard (a postage stamp sized lot). The vac jammed 3 times and had to be turned back into a blower to blow out the stuck leaves.I think if you use this as a vac, make sure your piles are done and the leaves are very dry. Otherwise, you are going to be disappointed in this product. I wish I could give it a better review, but I would send it back if I could, and therefore cannot recommend it to anyone.
Blower: was not strong enough even with the high ...
November 8, 2015
Blower: was not strong enough even with the high speed setting.Vacuum: This was the reason I purchased this. However, it didn't meet my acceptance. The strap wasn't tight enough so the bag didn't hold at all on my shoulder. It worked ok initially, but after a day I and my clothes became one mess of a dust ball. Dust everywhere. I have to wear a nose/mouth mask to at least protect my breathing. I have a specific jeans and jacket I'm wearing especially for this. It's not at all what I was expecting, and knowing that I paid close two hundred for this because it was also cordless makes me regretful. Full battery lasts15-20 min use for me which is frustrating.
Big cloud of powdery leaves with leaf vac
July 17, 2015
I normally like Greenworks, makes many cordless products, though, sometimes the plastics is a bit cheapy, long battery life and cordless still wins me over, HOWEVER, if you want to use the leaf vac part, get ready to get a cloud of fine powdery leaves in your eyes, your nose or mouth. They got the most see thru, leaky hole mesh as a leaf collector...a MESH, though very fine, Still a MESH and you can just see fine particles flying through the holes right into your eyes. Normally I would have given 4-5 stars, but the meshy leaf collector is just a big No No and Big Boo Boo. I guess whoever designed it didn't use it in real backyard life.
Not Enough Battery Power
November 8, 2014
My Echo gas powered leaf blower died after five years of use. I decided to buy this cordless replacement from GreenWorks because I did not want to bother with the disadvantages of using gasoline, and the GreenWorks blower/vac is lighter with a good blowing speed. Although I have a fair number of trees in my yard, I thought that this unit might be suitable. After fully charging the battery I gave my new blower a try. I immediately noticed that the blower did not blow the leaves in my gravel driveway as well a my gas powered blower did. It was pretty useless in the lower speeds, but it moved the leaves decently on high speed. Unfortunately it ran out of power in 10-11 minutes. I timed this. I recharged the battery overnight and tried again the next day. The result was the same. I did not use the vacuuming and mulching feature, but I expect that it would have a comparable performance. If you have a small yard, and the leaves do not pile up very high, this is a nice blower to use. If this is not the case, I advise using a gas-powered blower until the battery technology improves. I read on the GreenWorks website that they have an 80V battery which will be available soon. This should help to an extent. As things stand right now, I will be returning this unit and plan to purchase a new ECHO gas-powered blower, which has a five-year warranty.

Faulty Power Accelerator
June 27, 2017
I have 2 other GreenWorks products...a battery powered hedge trimmer and a power washer. When I decided to get a battery operated blower, I stuck with what I knew. This product is a terrible disappointment. It has a button that allows power acceleration which you need because the blower is not very powerful. If you use this function for more than a minute or two it over-heats and the instructions say to turn it off for half an hour. It failed to restart until an hour later...and within a minute or two of using the accelerator it shut down. This problem means the power level they advertise is not achievable. I've written to Amazon asking for a refund. I'll let you know how that goes.
Didn't last.
March 21, 2017
Loved it, worked great the first summer we used it. And the second summer. Third summer, the batteries lit up like they're charged, but the thing won't start. We have a yard service, so the blower has gotten very little use. Just to get leaves off lawn furniture for entertaining and things like that. Past warranty, so new battery is $116? For a $169 product? The only reason it's still taking up space in the garage is guilt over putting such a large item in a landfill and uncertainty as to what parts can go in the recycle bin.
Junk
March 12, 2017
I purchased for around $350 the leaf blower with the battery. I only used it approximately 20 times for the duration of a full charged battery--around one hour with the blower at it's highest setting. The unit failed after approximately 20 hours of use. I will now have to pay freight on a very heavy unit to have it repaired under warranty. It appears to be the switch --the motor was running strong--battery is holding charge.Pressure switch rather than a toggle switch--for on/off. Cheep Chinese junk.Regardless the one hour maximum use--you would only want to use it on full power--very weak compared to any gas powered--is limiting.Composed of very weak PVC.None of my DeWalt tools use a flimsy pressure switch--they know it won't last--flawed design--look elsewhere--don't trust the reviewers that post after using it for a week.

November 9, 2016
Arrived without damage. Solid construction with no visible defects to the parts. Initial battery charge worked fine. Product would not suck up dry leaves without being at absolute highest power setting with leaves raked into a pile. Battery lasted approximately 10 minutes. Battery would not accept recharge for approximately 1 hour after the first use. Due to heat generated from the lithium battery, I wasn't willing to leave it charging. Product returned for not meeting my expectations based on product description (and several of the positive product reviews).

The first one I ordered stopped working within 2 days. Requested a replacement which worked a little longer (3 weeks) then started doing the same thing as the first one. The leaf blower just beeps and the lights flash. I've recharged the batteries, open the door and checked the impeller, take the battery off and on, nothing works. It runs for a few seconds then just stops and beeps. Junk! My replacement window was June 3rd it is now June 7th so I am out of luck. Should have just returned the first one and not bothered with a second chance on the replacement.
look elsewhere

I have a greenworks g-max mower. It is amazing. I figured this would be at the same standard. But it barely blows or sucks, even at the highest level with the turbo button pressed. Then when you do have all that power going, the battery dies before any progress can be made. I have the same battery for my mower, and I can mow my backyard and half of my front yard one charge. So the fact that this drains the battery before a fourth of my front yard says something.
