Great product!
September 11, 2017
This machine is great, and I am so glad after all the research I did, this was the one I picked. It is so easy to clean. I bought the reusable coffee filter to go with it, as I don't like using the paper filters. I love that you can pull off the water canister. That makes it really easy. The cleaning of the coffee canister is so easy. Way easier than our old coffee maker. My husband loves the programming on it too. He gets it all set up at night, so when he wakes up, he has coffee already for him. I have yet to try the cold coffee, even though that was one of the other reasons I wanted it. lol This keeps coffee hot, even 4 hours later.
Thoughtful design
July 12, 2017
This is a very well designed coffee maker. It has a sight indicator letting you know how much coffee is left. It's easy to dump the filter into the waste basket with no mess. No more dumping water since it has a removable water tank to fill and put back in place. The control panel is simple and easy to read (lit in blue led). Just push your cup against the button and the coffee comes out and does't drip. The keep warm is adjustable from 0 to 4 hours and I really like that. Most coffee makers shut off after 2 hours and I would have to turn the pot back on. Now I can keep coffee warm for 4 hours. NICE.
Good One.
July 19, 2014
I upgraded my old Hamilton Beach BrewStation with this one. The method of putting water in the system for coffee brewing was a pain for me because I had to completely slide the unit out from underneath my cabinets to fill it and then I had a mess to clean up with water on my counter. My old coffee maker would show that it needed cleaning even after doing a cleaning of the minerals in the boiling tank. This one has a lift out and fill water reservoir, like a Keurig. I like that most of all and it was the primary reason I bought this one. I've had several that did this. I like the convenience of just putting my coffee mug to get coffee. I don't have to lift a carafe. This one has a few more buttons to work with. I can program how many hours I want my coffee to stay hot. It also has an Iced Coffee button which I haven't used but the recipe for the recipe looks good. It has brew options also. I use regular brew and you can also set it for just making 1-4 cups of coffee. The left side of the coffee reservoir has a small window to view the coffee level. You can still program this one to start brewing at a certain time. You can also order a water filter for the water reservoir. It seems to take less time to brew the same amount of coffee as my old BrewStation. I like being able to wash the water reservoir. A big plus for this unit. If you like Hamilton Beach BrewStations try this one. I'm really pleased with it.
Great for keeping coffee fresh long after it's made
April 16, 2014
We've used BrewStations for years and they're still making them right. We'll never go back to a pot. Since there is a lid over the coffee most of the evaporation condenses inside the lid and drips back down so the coffee doesn't keep getting stronger as it sits. It also shuts off automatically with a timer that is programmable up to 4 hours. We can turn it back on the next day or microwave a cup and the coffee still tastes great. This one has a removable water reservoir so you can carry it to the sink to fill it if you don't want to use a pitcher. The coffee tank can also be removed for cleaning or placing in the dishwasher. You press your cup against the silver button to open the valve and let the coffee pour in. One downside is that paper and foam cups sometimes are not stiff enough to press the button well. No problem with plastic or ceramic cups. Tall cups also fit easily. The only other problem that we have encountered is when someone who doesn't know how loads the filter so that it collapses, shakes the grounds into the filter so some land in it and some land around it, or uses grounds for 24 cups to make 12. If grounds get out of the filter into the coffee tank, they can get into the valve causing it to not close properly and drip. Sometimes you can open the valve fully and flush them through but sometimes you have to find something to pour the coffee into so you can take the coffee tank to the sink and run water through the valve to clear it. If you consistently have grounds in your pot and in your cup, this is not a good choice for you. And no, I'm not going to take away a star because it's not idiot-proof.
Love the BrewStation
January 31, 2014
This is our second BrewStation. We got this to replace our old one that started leaking (btw, it started leaking only because I messed with the mechanism... long story). We've had it for about a month and I really love it, but it does have some characteristics that are strange, as mentioned in some of the of the other reviews left here.1. Most of the time it does make a weird sound. I'm pretty sure it's the heating element that keeps the coffee hot in the tank, but our old one did not make any kind of sound like this. I'll just hope it's not an indication of a problem.2. I think the temperature of the hot coffee is perfect, but we are not people that like to drink scalding hot coffee. I appreciate that I can actually drink the coffee when I get a cup, instead of waiting for 20 minutes so I don't burn my tongue. If you like REALLY hot coffee, then this BrewStation may not be your best bet.3. Love... L.O.V.E. the removable water tank. The older model did not have this and you had to fill the water tank. It is so much more pleasant to be able to just remove the tank, fill it up, then put it back for brewing. Probably the best upgrade they made to their BrewStation. So far so good. Hopefully it will keep on ticking and last.
Perfect for us.
January 14, 2014
We were draw to the carafe-less style and the detachable (and easily fillable) water reservoir, and both have worked exactly as advertised. We love the convenience this provides.I'm a big ice coffee drinker and this works really well for that. Put ice in coffee tank, and put a little water (never over 6 cups) in the water reservoir, add coffee to the strength you prefer, press ice coffee setting and turn it on. It brews the coffee directly over the ice in the tank, and the insulated tank keeps it nice and cold for most of the morning. I don't like really strong coffee, so I normally put ice up to the 10 cup line, water up to the 4 cup line, and 6 scoops of coffee in the basket, and that seems to work pretty good for me.We got the ultra with the chrome accents and that looks pretty sharp, with decent quality materials. Our old coffee maker collected water on the lid and would dump it down the back of the coffee maker when we opened the lid, this one has a catch lip along the back that directs the water back into the tank which is much cleaner. We have had no trouble at all getting the coffee to dispense properly, as others had noted, so either they improved this on the ultra or it just fits the way we hold our mugs/cups (both large and small containers). Opening is wide enough to accept, both my larger ice coffee insulated cups, as well as travel mugs.Things I would like to see on this unit (although it's very good as is).... I would like to see a float shut-off/turn down for the heater, as when the coffee gets low in the tank it starts to burn a bit. I would also like to see the level indicator for the coffee tank be more up front like the water indicator is, or at least more convex so it's easier to see. Finally the last nice to have would be a small light that comes one when the dispensing button is pressed.

Works with Hamilton Beach 46201
March 30, 2017
This works with my Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Digital Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel (46201). I see grinds around the top here and there, but they are usually caused by me either putting it in or taking them out. Hasn't broken yet on me, I've been using it pretty much every day for about a month now.
I recommend this product!
March 16, 2017
This has served me well, and will transfer to my new coffeemaker as an extra in case I need it (a new one comes with the new coffeemaker)It is easy to maintain so I just put it in the top rack of my dishwasher between the regular maintenance cleanings (recommended by the coffeemaker)
Awesome buy!
March 11, 2017
I love not having to waist coffee filters anymore. Also, this is awesome for composting. I can throw straight coffee grounds into the compost pile and I don't have to worry about waiting for the paper to decompose. Rinses out easily and if you drink coffee intermittently and accidentally leave some grounds in there until they have formed their own ecosystem it is not a big deal. The ecosystem can be dumped in the compost, the basket rinsed with hot water, and voila, you are back to making coffee. Well worth the money!
Yep - it's making coffee!

Good filter - does what it's supposed to do! While it appears to not fit the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Programmable Brewstation Summit Dispensing Coffee Machine (48464), it actually does! Which, while surprising, doesn't take away from the good coffee it helps to brew.Picked up a few so I can have one in the wash and one in the maker, ready to serve me first thing in the morning!
Excellent permanent coffee filter
July 14, 2016
This filter works much better than paper filters and better than any permanent filter I've used. It is dishwasher safe and very easy to clean. Just dump the grounds in the trash and then rinse in warm water, using the sprayer. It takes about 1-2 minutes to remove, dump, rinse, and replace. It's not only economical, it's the environmentally friendly thing to do!
Permanent Gold Tone Filter...
May 9, 2016
Ever since I was introduced to permanent filters a few years ago I have never wanted to go back to a paper filter. So after having decided on the coffee maker I was going to buy I knew my next purchase was going to be a permanent filter for it. A permanent filter just makes your coffee making experience so much more pleasant. The Hamilton Beach Permanent Gold Tone Filter fits perfectly into the brew basket making your life so much more satisfying. You get that perfect cup of coffee without all the hassle as well a nice clean up later.

Good coffee, but noisy
April 15, 2017
I've had a few of this type coffee maker. The style avoids spilled and burned coffee. This one is very noisy, as some have said. It sputters for up to an hour after coffee is ready..but not every time. I've tried removing the water tank after brew cycle is complete, but it still sputters. The noise really doesn't bother me. I wish the detachable water tank had a removable lid so that it would fit under my refrigerator's filtered water dispenser. I will purchase another like it when this one quits.
So easy a 4 year old can use it.
August 17, 2016
My daughter woke up earlier than us one day and decided to make some tea (yes it's a "tea pot" for us). She unplugged the coffee/tea pot and moved it to the floor. Got the filter holder and coffee/tea reservoir out of the fridge, dumped out my barely used tea bags. Got new tea bags and put them in the filter holder, put the coffee pot back on the counter and plugged it in.. Filed the water reservoir and turned on the coffee pot. By the time I got out to the kitchen there was fresh tea already made.. Other than freaking out about the water + electricity issue, the possibility of her breaking my new coffee/tea pot ... And the fact that she wasted my tea bags.. I was pretty impressed that she learned how to use it after only watching me a few times. Unfortunately since she can't read she also ended up mixing a energizing tea with a sleep tea... But I'd say she's a pretty smart little girl for being able to do all that on her own.Even though I really like this coffee pot I'm only giving it 4 starts because I think there is room for improvement. I don't like that there's water dripping from the cover to the inside of the appliance itself, it's a pain in the butt to have to dump out. Also, as a stay at home mother, I have tea throughout the day and at night put any leftovers in the fridge (love the removable reservoirs) to warm up and add to the next day, because of this the warming plate is in constant need of cleaning. It's not long after I turn it on that the "clean" sign turns on. Guess it's not a big deal, I mostly just find it annoying.. Both the sign and the constant need to clean the plate. Could also use a longer "keep warm" period. :-)Removable reservoirs are great, "keep warm" is great, iced coffee/tea is great.. Love the fact that I can use it for tea (bag or loose leaf).. Love the push button dispenser, though it would be nice if the dispenser hole was out farther to accommodate irregular containers and if the button was lower for shorter cups (so you don't have to hold them in the air.. )
Handy, Hot and Noisy!
May 29, 2016
The removable side reservoir is handier than the other Brew Station models where you have to poor water directly into the interior well. This model also keeps the coffee hotter than the other Brew Stations (we've had two others), but it comes at the price of a low boiling noise a long as the warmer is on. Can be a minor irritation if you are close (4-5 ft) to the pot, and I suppose it uses more electrical power too. Overall, though, it's an excellent coffee maker, with both standard and bold brewing, warmer times up to 4 hours, and of course a programmable timer. The display is very bright - you won't need a night light in the kitchen with this one plugged in!

February 18, 2016
I don't like that the words rubbed off of the front pretty much the first time we cleaned it. It also leaks condensation at the bottom now that we've had it for something like 2 years--we put a dish towel underneath it and change that out when we use it, not a big deal, almost no effort. This maker is super convenient though and it DOES keep coffee just as hot as any other maker, if not hotter, in my experience. You can put it on Iced coffee mode, or not, on 1-4 cups, bold, change how long you want it to keep your coffee how (after which it'll shut itself off, so you never need to worry about doing so again). It's programmable, which is convenient, and it's got a little handle inside so that when you're taking it apart to empty it or clean it you're not awkwardly carrying it to the sink (we have a cart for coffee that's not super close to the sink so that's helpful for us).
Makes delicious iced coffee!
January 17, 2016
I am absolutely obsessed with Iced Coffee. I can't get enough of it, so when my co-worker told me about an iced coffee maker I had to jump on Amazon and research and utimately purhcase. The Hamilton Beach 47000 series is awesome! I can make iced coffee that tastes just as good as Dunkin Donuts for a fraction of the cost and no driving. I've made hot coffee a few times out of this unit as well and it definitely tasted better than the traditional pot that burns as it stays warm. The only reason I can't give it 5/5 stars is that the water tank is awkwardly tilting to the side. I thought this was a manufacturer defect, but apparently this is how it is supposed to be.. awkward. Anytime I show off my new toy seems like every person wants to try and even it out properly. Not that this is that big of a deal as I don't leave it out on the counter. Overall, very satisfied!
Third Brew Station for me.
April 17, 2015
I was nervous after reading some of the negative reviews, but I had owned 2 Brew Station coffee makers in the past and had been very happy with them. I have had it for a few weeks and so far everything is great. Just a couple of reasons I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5, it is very light weight. Pushing a cup against the dispense button will move the coffee maker unless you use both hands. Also with the entire inside being made of black plastic, you have to be in a well lit area to see where the reservoir slides into position. But so far there are no leaks and it brews quickly and quietly. I would buy it again.

Smaller than I thought.
October 6, 2017
I was concerned about this filter when I put in into my Hamilton Beach Brew station because the filter is smaller than the filter basket of the Brew station . It's not a snug fit at all, so you have to be careful not to spill the coffee down into the basket while adding it to the permanent filter if you have it sitting in the filter basket. It's better to just fill the permanent filter then set it into the basket. Otherwise the filter works well. I have only been using it for a few months.
Handy
May 7, 2017
Great alternative to running out and buying paper filters! You get used to a minor amount if coffee grind 'silt' sometimes at the bottom of a pot, but no biggee.SUGGESTION: go ahead and rinse this out and run to through the dishwasher so it doesn't have a funny flavor to your first 2 pots of coffee, After that--good to go!!
Works well
April 12, 2017
Mesh screen seems to work well. The concern I have is that it seems rather small for the coffee maker. Using 12 cups runs the risk of grounds overflow (experienced once). I measure down to 10 cups and it works perfectly. That aside, it is handy, easy to manipulate and insert into it's designated spot.
Works well
January 19, 2017
The filter works well in my Hamilton Beach coffee maker. It's a bit on the flimsy side, so I need to be careful when cleaning it. It wouldn't take much to break the handle and the mesh is very thin. Hamilton Beach claims that the filter is sized for my coffee maker, there is a good 1/2 inch gap between the filter and the receptacle all the way around. I just center the filter in the receptacle and that has worked so far. No spillage or overflow. For the price, the filter is a good deal.
Reuse and Reduce
January 16, 2016
Been using this product for around 6 months now. I didn't want to have to buy the paper filters, so this seemed like a much better option. I've been fairly pleased with the filter and its longevity. The only reason I would give this product 4/5 stars is when I brew my coffee sometimes there will be a small amount of residue in the bottom not caught by the filter. One thing you may not think about when purchasing is the cleaning process. Normally when I clean the filter I toss 2/3 of the grounds into the trash and then wash the rest into the sink. So just make sure you understand the cleaning process and if that will work with your living situation.Overall I've enjoyed the filter and it has done the job I've expected it to with the only shortcoming in the coffee residue area.
It works as well as a paper filter and definitely saves lots of paper!
September 25, 2015
Definitely saves a lot of paper, even though it requires cleaning after each use. It also takes up less space than a box and spare of paper filters. (It can stay in the dish-drainer or go back into the coffee maker instead of sitting in a drawer.)The porosity of the mesh is about the same as that of a paper filter, so you don't need to adjust the amount of ground coffee used per cup. After a month or so of use, it does not show any wear and tear, so we are already about even with the cost of paper filters. The size is slightly smaller than a standard filter, so it should fit any coffee maker that uses a standard paper filter.

Too much work
July 28, 2017
Thought I would try it but the setup for coffee everyday is a chore cleaning the coffee reservoir and the tray which hold the coffee filter. I also don't like the button for getting the coffee out its is made for a large coffee cup and is so dark you can't tell when the cup is full. Also when it keeps the coffee warm it is very loud popping sounds makes me nervous. I've not tried ice coffee too mush hassle. I think I would prefer a caraf. Coffee tastes good but isn't very warm after warming for 15 minuets.
Not recommended unless you like to clean up leaked water.
February 24, 2016
Here is what I like - the separate tank is a plus. I like the dispenser vs. using a carafe. Makes good coffee. Not that hard to clean. Here is what is wrong - the lid to the tank broke very easily soon after I got this. (the hinges). Cheaply made. The design also allows water to accumulate around the heating element after each pot is made. Eventually you have to dump out this whole thing or water starts to leak all over your counter. It did this from the beginning. Most recently, it sprang some other leak - not of brewed coffee, but somewhere along the tank-to-heating element cycle. I'm getting a new machine and will donate this to goodwill.
gets cold to quickley
November 30, 2015
I had my hamilton BEACH BREW STATION my first one for maybe 10 years it was wonderful it finnally went to coffee heaven. I ordered a new one of course the models are different. the tank that can be taken to the sink to be filled is an improvment. but as someone else said the coffee is not hot once it comes out hot you have to put it in the microwave it gets cold to quickley .and to put your cup under to get the coffee it must be flush aganist the wall of the counter ''duh ''or it moves and you have to hold the top. well i guess i am keeping it but wish i had the old one back every thing you buy today is never made like th older products
Good idea, badly implemented
February 7, 2015
I like Hamilton Beach coffee makers overall, since my last three have all been one. Good coffee makers for someone who drinks coffee all day. This one, I got hooked on the nonremovable reservoir model at church so when it got time to replace mine, this looked like the solution since the removable reservoir would make it easier on my wife to fill without having to lift a carafe of water over her shoulders.Pros: Makes a good pot of coffee fairly quickly.Ability to dispense like a drink machine.Keeps coffee hot enough to enjoy for several hours (good for my habits whereas the thermal carafes end up with the last couple of cups a little cool).Lots of nice "bling" features like fluid level windows and settings.Cons: The infamous condensation & drip issue which makes for a puddle under and around the machine.Reservoir does not fit firmly to the coffee maker.Which leads to occasional leaks at the connection between reservoir & machine. So, pretty much, the water damage potential, cost of laundering extra towels, etc. kills any chance of this being a permanent member of my house. I'll go back to the thermal carafe machines.
Love the coffee it makes- wish they would fix the flaw
November 11, 2014
The coffee made by the Hamilton Beach is delicious, and I have had 4 Brewstations. The coffee maker constantly runs at my house. However, a flaw with this type of Brewstation with the removable coffee tank is that there is an area that is indented where the tank sits. During regular use, the water condenses on the lid and trickles down under the coffee tank. When that fills up, it leaks from the dispenser valve. It is not coffee, but water than comes out. It leaks onto your countertop, and can be a considerable amount of water that collects under and around your coffee maker. The only way to stop it is to dry it after every use, or be one of those people who only brews one pot a day. I am really sad, because I love the coffee this brewer makes. It never burns, you can adjust the brew strength, and you can set it to keep warm for up to 4 hours. I called Hamilton Beach and they are going to replace it for me, but it will still be the same problem, only with a new warranty. I really hope they fix this, maybe by creating a small drain that goes into a trap that can be easily emptied. As it is now, you can take all the pieces off and then dump the water out by turning the machine upside down, or you can use paper towels to sop up the mess each time you brew a pot.
Overall it looks good and functions, brews a great cup at the right temp.
September 18, 2014
I over all like the ability to remove the water reserve to fill it at the sink and not have to pour from a separate container!!!!! No more spilling on my counters! The water lid snapped off and the prong that holds it on broke....Emergency repair needed, but it now functions just fine. Like the ability to keep coffee warm for up to 4 Hrs. The spill tray at the bottom just sits there and is not attached to the unit. (No big deal) I like the ability to brew Bold or 4 cup pot. The lever to fill the cup is somewhat stiff. If don't have the coffeemaker set against the wall when I go to fill the cup I have to apply pressure that pushes the maker back to the wall. I love the concept and lay out of the maker, it would be an awesome product with a few minor redesigns. It does brew a great cup of coffee and does NOT over heat or burn the coffee.

June 19, 2017
Bought for my Hamilton Beach coffee maker and find the sides too short for the maker and grounds were overflowing when we'd make a large pot. Had to buy a cone shape filter even though not that type it covers the side height issue and no more grounds in our coffee. Would have preferred to use the round filter though. Any advice greatly appreciated. Have the Hamilton Beach 2-way Flex brew 49983.
Good but small
June 18, 2017
I bought this to stop killing trees for paper filters. I like the idea, i like the design that is until i put it in the coffee pot. Its too small but it says its the right size for our coffee pot. Im not so sure about that.
Disappointed!
December 7, 2016
Can't really say much about this product as I have not been able to use it. It does not fit my new Hamilton Beach Summit Ultra (48465) coffee maker although it was supposed to. It will not allow the lid to close when it is inserted. This was an Amazon recommended add-on to my coffee maker purchase.
Works fine, but keep having issues with coffee too weak or too strong
July 3, 2016
I purchased this along with the Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Brewstation 48464 because I am used to using #4 paper filters and dislike the regular filters. Since I have been using this though, the coffee has come out either too weak for less than 4 cups or too strong for more. I am unsure if it is the coffeemaker or the filter that is the issue. I have yet to try a paper filter in this coffeemaker. I do agree that the filter is somewhat small for brewing 8 scoops of coffee or more, but I feel like if I put a paper filter in there, it would fold in and be a mess anyway so this is a better option.
thinking this one would be a perfect fit but it wasn't
September 9, 2015
As far as this basket being for the Hamilton Beach Brew Station It does not fill the entire circumference of the basket. I had an old one from my Cuisinart and thought it wasnt the right size, thinking this one would be a perfect fit but it wasn't. Its the same Gold coffee filter as others. Better off using paper filters which do fill the entire basket. I dont know if water bypasses the coffee grinds on the side of the basket or not but it just doesnt "feel" right. It works as it should though. I was just under the impression it would be an exact fit.
Great product, but wrong compatibility information.
July 5, 2015
Great product, but my only concern it is not compatible with BrewStation Summit Ultra 12-Cup Coffeemaker even though its features says it is. Basket height is too tall for BrewStation Summit Ultra 12-Cup Coffeemaker and its lid won;t close.I get my deals @ Gadgetar.com

Owned 1 day. Already don't like it.
October 6, 2017
I've owned 2 Brewstations over the past 15 years. Love them. This one...I already hate it.First priority was: It must have an external water reservoir (or easily filled without removing the basket and everything else.) This was the only version to have the external reservoir. So I was kind of limited in choices. The ANNOYANCES! 1. The clock light is ALWAYS ON. And its bright. It makes me think its on (when its not). The power button light is the exact same color, so it doesn't stand out as being ON or OFF. 2. The constant rumble of steam and bubbling. The plate warmer shouldn't rumble, which means either A.) the initial heating element (that turns cold water into steam for brewing) is always on, or B.) There is water/condensation leaking under the basket to the plate warmer. Neither option sounds good. 3. The filter and basket sit INSIDE the brewed coffee! Weird. It sits down to about the 6 cup mark. So, if you make 12 cups....the entire basket of coffee grounds will be sitting IN the freshly brewed coffee. I suppose this will make it stronger...I don't know. 4. The pour button sits too high. The other versions, you sit a coffee cup on the drip plate and kid of "rock" the cup to press the button, which holds the machine in place some-what. This one, you have to PUSH AGAINST the coffee maker. So...it must sit against the backsplash (or use one had to hold the machine in place. Which then you run the risk of burning your hand by steam). And it still wont fit a travel mug under it, which completely negates having the large height. It might be time for me to give-up on Brewstations and go to a thermal carafe. At least that way, once the coffee is done brewing, all or most of the electricity is shut off. I can deal with a small amount of condensation, and an occasional gurgle...but this is just too much.
Chinese junk
April 16, 2017
The pot makes coffee. Other than that the quality is typical of made in China products. The tank on the side attaches by one small hook which is placed so low that the tank lists off to one side. Doesn't seem to affect the coffee making process, but sure looks cheap. The lid is smaller than the opening and the hing it swings on is so cheap it wobbles and jiggles. when touched. I'm wondering how long before it snaps off. I am very disappointed in this product.
Stay Away from this HB Coffeemaker
December 18, 2016
This is our fifth Hamilton Beach coffeemaker. The quality is sliding downhill. It looks attractive, but it's cheesy construction, and looks like it was made to be a toy, not a long-term kitchen appliance. Surely this thing wasn't made in America. The functionality and operation are OK, but lifting off the top support structure that holds the coffee filter / basket is painful because of a poor design of how to grasp the structure. The drip tray doesn't have a solid fit and it's too small to allow a cup to sit on it. Overall, it's the flimsiest and most poorly made HB product I've purchased. I will think long and hard before buying another HB product.
This one leaked
July 12, 2015
I only buy Hamilton Beach toasters small appliances because they last. I've bought 2 regular BrewMasters and they've each lasted 2 years. This one I bought as a back up and because of a great price at the time. Its been i storage since May. I began using it 3 days ago and it has leaked brewed coffee at the bottom each day. (That's the problem I have with Mr. Coffee brewers, actually). I should have been smarter and did a trial run when it came in and also bought the 2- year warranty. I do believe there is a lemon in every category and I may have just gotten a bad one. M y deal wasn't a deal due to my thriftiness and so I've learned a lesson. So, I have again bought a regular Brew Master and included a 3 year warranty for $3. BTW: Another brand Ive had good luck with is Black & Decker.
... a Hamilton Beach Brewstation several years ago and really loved it. A couple of months down the line ...
November 15, 2014
I purchased a Hamilton Beach Brewstation several years ago and really loved it. A couple of months down the line the power button was pushed and it came loose and went inside the unit. I contacted Hamilton Beach and they sent me a brand new coffee maker...fantastic. I think we actually had 3 of the same coffee maker. Then we stayed in a B&B that had the Cuisinart Coffee on Demand. So I purchased one of those. It stopped working and I decided to go back to Hamilton Beach. This coffee maker is only fair. I like that the water reservoir is removable and I love just pressing the button to get all the coffee I want since I prefer to brew my own. BUT...when the coffee is in the coffee reservoir and steams up, it should go back into the reservoir. No, it some how gets UNDER the coffee reservoir and does not get back into the brewed coffee. When I make coffee, I want ALL my coffee. We have had this coffee maker just a short while and all of the lettering on the front is gone...very cheap. It does have brew options, bold, regular and 1-4 cups. The regular option makes weak coffee and we always have it on bold and even at that we add extra coffee grounds. I am keeping this coffee maker and will deal with what I think is far less than a good maker. But will never have another. Be aware if you are someone who likes to brew your own coffee and drink it when you like, shop around some more for a better maker than this one. I dislike this machine.
Okay coffee maker, couple of minor annoyance issues
August 29, 2014
UPDATED 2014 NOV 30Updating the review after extended use of coffee maker. Dropping to two stars.*************************BEGIN UPDATEThe constant noise and the *massive* amount of condensation were just too much. The unit would have between a 1/2" and 3/4" of water in the base after every pot of coffee and was getting to be a huge pain to pull out paper towels and sop up the condensation on a daily basis. We ended up picking up a Mr. Coffee maker for less than half the cost that also does 12 cups of coffee and oh my, the sounds of silence, and not having to sop up water after every pot of coffee!END UPDATE*************************We have been through several Hamilton Beach coffee makers over the years, and when the last unit died we upgraded to this model. It makes good coffee, but there are a couple of minor issues that we had not encountered with the previous units.1: Even after the coffee has finished brewing there is a constant noise. Kind of a bubbling/brewing sound that doesn't go away until the unit is powered down. It's disconcerting to hear the coffee maker making brewing noises well after the coffee has completed brewing.2: The inside of the unit where the coffee filter is placed has a LOT of condensation. When you lift the coffee filter holder there is quite a bit of water sitting at the bottom. We initially thought it was this extra water that was causing the brewing sound, but even after wiping the condensation dry it still makes the noise.Minor issues, but the older models of Hamilton Beach coffee makers did not have them. We'll keep using the coffee maker until it dies, but will try a different model next time.

I was hoping that this would replace paper filters, however, no matter how course I grind the coffee, there is always a layer of grounds in the coffee pot.
Too small
January 18, 2017
I have a 12 cup Hamilton Beach brewer and this is way too small. It wobbles around in the holder and barely fits the 6 scoops we use for a 12 cup caraffe.
The basket is fine. It just does not fit the coffee maker ...
December 20, 2016
The basket is fine. It just does not fit the coffee maker we bought that it's paired with (Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Programmable Brewstation Summit Dispensing Coffee Machine (48464)).It's just about 1/16 too tall so the lid does not close completely. There's really a very small gap so you could probably live with it, but we sent it back.
I don't recommend this because of that reason
January 16, 2016
I have had nothing but problems with the Hamilton Flexbrew so I am returning it (2nd model) and wanted to return this as well since it was purchased for that coffeemaker, but the shipping costs that I have to pay to return it are almost as much as the item. I don't recommend this because of that reason, it's very short and easily has the grounds overflow into your coffee. Maybe if it was a bigger basket, but don't waste the money because its not worth the return if you are unhappy.
Ehhh!
November 3, 2012
Probably does well in other coffee makers but not so well in the Hamilton Beach Ensemble. Brewed my very first cups of coffee woth the gold filter, the coffee came out a very light brown,I opened the top of the coffee maker and noticed not all off the coffee gorund had even been saturated. So i ran the same pot thru a second time and the coffee came out a little darker. Next I used a paper filter, the coffee came out the color it was supposed to be and all of the coffee ground had been saturated. There was a huge diffeence between the gold/paper filter. Although I would have rather used the gold filter since it allows alot of the coffe oils to remain in the coffee, I get such a better brew with the paper filter...less clean up too!

Big Safety Hazzard!!! Condensating Water runs into the electronics!
July 18, 2016
It looks good and the functions are good. We used to have the previous, not automated model for over 10 years before it stopped working. The reason why I give this coffee maker just 1 star is that it has a big flaw in it's design. The condensation water that accumulates on the lid runs down when opening the lid and it is supposed to flow into the coffee bucket.Unfortunately the run-down design is really bad and water runs down along the back wall, accumulates underneath the coffee bucket (Not inside of it) until it floats over into the inside and the electronics of the coffee maker and it exits on the bottom of it, ruining counter tops if not caught in time.
Not worth it
May 5, 2016
I bought one of these for my daughter who lives out of state. When I purchased mine and received it, I thought I got a defective one and was going to return it. I then visited my daughter and found hers was the same way. Although it is convenient to have the fill tank on the side, it does not sit straight and looks crooked. My husband thought I burnt the coffee as it does not brew well. It is also very light weight and you must have it up against a wall so that it doesn't move when you are trying to pour a cup of coffee. I have the old brew station and thank goodness kept it because now my new one is back in the box.
Heating element stays too hot and burns coffee immediately. Do not recommend.
January 28, 2016
I really wanted to like this coffee maker. I was trying to make the switch from my Keurig back to traditional drip due to the cost of K-Cups. While I like the design and the idea behind the internal reservoir I feel this item is severely flawed. The heating element that is supposed to prevent the coffee from being burned stays too hot. You can immediately hear the coffee stay at a slow boil immediately after the brew process is complete.I bought one of these for my brother as a gift and he has mentioned the same behavior that I have described. I would definitely not recommend this item to anyone. I also see that Amazon is currently reviewing there inventory of this item for defects. If any defects are found I hope they intend on reaching out to customers who have bought this item to resolve the issues mentioned in my review.
The 2nd one last almost 2 years and it started leaking bad. So I thought
November 19, 2014
Just took my 3rd Hamilton Beach coffee maker to the dumpster in 5 years. My first one lasted about 21/2 years and started leaking all over the counter. The 2nd one last almost 2 years and it started leaking bad. So I thought, I will try one more, maybe the first 2 were anomolies.. The 3rd one was the newer type with the detachable water resovoir, worked good for about 3 months and then=== it would only take about 2 cups of the water out and stop brewing. Turning it off and back on would get it going again, now it takes about 2 or 3 turnoffs and ons to finish. The sad part is I love the concept of not having a carafe, and the coffee does not get bitter after staying on for 2-3 hours. But the sad part is they are not really priced right to be considered disposable. So now comes the little $19.95 Black & Decker 12 cup programable out of storage and back in service. Sorry Hamilton Beach, think I bought my last. one..
This is the 2nd Hamilton Beach BrewStation we have ordered ...
September 5, 2014
This is the 2nd Hamilton Beach BrewStation we have ordered. The first one had problems completing a brew and now we have had this one for only one month and it has started the same problem. You turn on the power and the coffee starts brewing...only about one cup...then you have to turn it off and restart with another brewing. The first coffee brew station lasted a little bit longer...say 4 months..but we will not be replacing with this type of brew station in the future. We have passed the time frame for returning to Amazon, however, we will take it up with Hamilton Beach warranty folks. Very disappointing...
A Definite DO NOT BUY !!
August 6, 2014
This 47950 BrewStation replaced an older BrewStation model which served us faithfully and flawlessly for nearly four years; we LOVED that machine. This 47950 model is a huge disappointment. After about 6-months water began leaking, during the brewing process, into the cavities around the heating element. It started leaking slowly and now, 8-months after purchase, leaks over 3/4 cup of water during each brew cycle. The machine must be unplugged and the base drained into the sink after each use. If we forget to drain between brewings, the cavities around the heating element fill up and water runs all over the counter during the second brew cycle. We are ordering a model 48465 BrewStation to replace this disappointing, prematurely failed model 47950 BrewStation. The model 48465 does not have the detachable side water reservoir and is of a design similar to the BrewStation we formerly enjoyed for such a long time. This model 47950 has definite design flaws, quality problems, and should be removed from production. One expects an appliance to have more durability than an 8-month service life. I gave this BrewStation model 47950 a 1-star rating only because I didn't have a zero star option.

What a waste of money
July 23, 2017
I never thought I'd say this, but I've gone back to paper filters. What a waste of money... and I've owned tons of coffee makers! This came recommended as a purchase along with the Hamilton Beach coffee maker which works just fine. But the water shoots right through it leaving most of the coffee grounds dry and the coffee weak! it's the strangest thing I've ever seen. Ugh! I've used it numerous times on multiple settings, and tossed the package. So now it's in the garbage. Get one at the grocery store if you need one real bad :(
Makes terrible tasting coffee
March 20, 2017
I've used reusable filters like this before but they came with the coffee maker as standard, not as an add on. For some reason the coffee I make using this thing tastes awful. When I use a paper filter, it tastes just fine. If you want to use a reusable filter, I would say look for a coffeemaker that comes with one. The "single-cup" brewer on my combination Hamilton Beach coffee maker has a reusable filter basket and I use that all the time (good taste), but when I brew a pot, I'll be sticking with paper filters.
Waste of money
March 12, 2017
This is the filter offered with the Hamilton Beach 48465 Brewstation. Guess what? It doesn't fit. The top will not close fully when the basket is inserted. What a rip! Luckily, it was only $5-ish.
Too large for Hamilton Brewstation 48465
November 29, 2016
Amazon pictured the wrong filter too go with Hamilton Brewstation 48465. I will be returning this. It's too narrow and tall. I can't close the lid properly plus it isn't a tight fit at all.
Looked like tea as you can see in the picture
January 2, 2016
I bought this for my Brew station. The coffee came out weak. Looked like tea as you can see in the picture. The regular looking cup of coffee is from a paper filter. both batches of coffee were made using the same amount of coffee and water.
More cups, more mess.
July 29, 2014
If you plan to make more than 4-6 cups of coffee (1 TBSP/cup) in your 12 cup coffee maker, this basket will not work - grinds splash over the edge into the strainer and pot. This is beneficial if you LIKE coffee sludge and want to shorten the life coffee maker; I do not. Currently seeking proper non-paper filter replacement. Any suggestions?
