Best way to indulge the true taste and smell of coffee as it should be, is through this.
April 7, 2017
I have never had one of these in my life but always read about them, saw them in movies, etc Always toyed with the idea of getting one anytime I saw it in the store, but I think I was intimidated. It never looked as easy nor convenient as popping a k-cup into a machine and having your coffee be ready in seconds. I thought there was a special science to work this thing.
But finally I saw this on Amazon one day, at a very reasonable price, and unbeknownst to me, it is super simple to use. So easy to wash each gadget by hand, I don't see the sense in putting it in the dishwasher. I've had this for some time and it has not chipped and I have yet to have any loose grounds floating in my coffee.

If I had to say something that I least like about it, is that It takes a little trial and error with finding out how light or strong you want your coffee. And that's just a minor detail to this wonderful product.
It makes sense to have this if you are the only coffee drinker in your family. I still have the keurig machine for when we have guests over, but when it's just me I always use this. AND you can have more than one cup in one brew. So even if you have one guest over, you can still use this over your normal coffee machine
A great French Press for a very reasonable price!
March 1, 2017
About a year ago I bought this Utopia Kitchen French Press. I had never used/owned a french press before and wanted to 'try' one, so sought out a low-priced but decent one. I had looked and researched thru reviews and friends of what to look for, and by all accounts the glass carafe and the filter were the most important things. Not only was this one VERY reasonably priced ($8.99 at the time), but is well made. Although the top/lid is made of plastic, the 'holder', filters, knob/ball on top and rod are made of metal, and the carafe is of tempered glass (the carafe is very sturdy glass, not thin, and has already lasted longer than my old coffeemaker pot/carafe). I still have this french press a year later through bumps, drops, and metal spoons to stir when steeping the coffee. The filter is still going strong, the glass carafe is as it was the day I received it, as is the chrome holder. To anyone who is thinking of using/buying a french press this is a very good choice. Granted, you can find more expensive versions, but I'm not sure that would equate to better performance than this one. I'll never go back to auto-drip coffee. Not only will you save electric, but its a better cup of coffee. And I'm glad I found/bought this French Press; I have no need to look further...I love it.
This french press is great for making iced coffee
August 15, 2016
This french press is great for making iced coffee. I used to use a machine and pour the coffee over ice and place in freezer. It always tasted watered down and was never cold and bold. This press is great because I make the coffee the day before and let it sit over night in my fridge. In the morning it is cold and bold. I put 7 scoops of freshly ground coffee into the container and then pour hot water (almost boiling) over the grinds. I push down and let it sit on the counter for a while. Once it isn't piping hot I pull the top back up and place in my fridge. I will be saving a lot of money not going through drive throughs to order a decent iced coffee. I would recommend this to others.
Excellent product.
April 7, 2016
Use it every day.... Works better than the last one I had. Excellent that its all plastic so one can use a metal spoon in it when hot to stir. The bottom is fixed on which my other one was not and always ended up missing somewhere. The filter is better, and similar. I use 2 tablespoons flat per cup of coffee out of a can. Its a little in the coffee but I like it that way. Then there's the small amount of foam on top and yummy. Time to make another cup I like it so much.
Great Price too and delivered very fast. It is glass and will break as I found out.
Great medium size French Press!
February 16, 2016
I had been looking for a French Press that was a reasonable size, say three or four cups of coffee. I wanted something easy to clean and functional. This little gem was the answer. It took me a few days to work up the courage to try it, but when I did it was heaven. Not only was I able to get deep, rich flavors but I was also able to get dark coffee without that burnt taste. The plunger was smooth and easy. Cleaning it was a breeze and it doesn't take up a ton of space when we aren't using it. For the trial I used Starbucks Pike Place® Roast Whole Bean Coffee (1lb) and it tasted better than at actual Starbucks! Long story short, for anyone who doesn't drink enough coffee to justify an entire coffee maker, this is a great solution.I recommend getting an electric kettle to heat the water like this one Hamilton Beach 40865 Glass Electric Kettle, 1.7-Liter. I also want to say that it really does compact the grounds at the bottom, so be careful when you go to empty it. The glass isn't stable enough to just whack against the side of the trash or anything to loosen them. I'd just dedicate a long bamboo spoon to emptying it out before rinsing. This has be such a great experience I'm already thinking about buying a second one just to take to work.In case anyone doesn't have instructions, I've found that 2 generous tablespoons (2 of the little scoop that comes with it) per every six ounces of water makes the best tasting coffee if you like it strong. Or you can use 1 scoop per 6 ounce cup for a little less intensity. Remember to let it steep for five minutes, and most important with this press - make sure you temper the glass!! This means adding a small amount of heated (but not boiling) water to the press just to warm it up by swirling the water gently around the whole carafe. I used about 24 ounces of water (3 and a bit cups) and it worked out great with 8 scoops. It also really trapped the grounds and didn't make a huge mess or anything, which was great.I cannot say enough nice things about this, if you have never had French Press Coffee you owe it to your tastebuds to get this and try it!

Keeping me in (and out) of hot water!
September 5, 2017
I am a tea drinker - I like my tea water HOT! To add to the issue are how cold the mugs are when they are in the cabinet in the winter - pouring water in there instantly cools off the tea before milk is added. Also, I forget often that I have put on the tea water or forget to turn it off. My problems are solved with this tea kettle. The mugs are warmed up and my tea is still piping hot. I can leave my home or go upstairs free of the nagging doubt of whether or not I turned off the stove.
My Favorite Tea Kettle Ever!
August 5, 2017
Best whistling kettle I've ever owned and the reasons are numerous. Handle never gets too hot; it's just the perfect size and angle to grasp and pour. It's beautifully made, but not super heavy so it doesn't hurt my wrist to lift when it's full of water. Whistle flips up or down easily with easy-to-push tabs on handle. It has a nice fat bottom so if you overheat for a while, the sides are not stained from flame. Cleans easily to the shine you see in the picture. Top lid removes easily but won't come off unless it's your idea. The whistle can be heard nearby, it politely calls you back to the stove, but don't go upstairs or outside as it's not a super loud imposing wake-you-from-the-dead whistle.
Great for using boiling water on weeds!
June 28, 2017
I actually purchased this tea pot so that I could boil water & easily poor on my weeds (weeds die in a couple of days & no chemicals to worry about!). Shiny metal pot whistles when water is boiling. Easy spout opener at handle, handle doesn't get too warm though I do need to use pot holder. Great deal, especially if you can find a "like new" Amazon product. My "like new" product seems/feels brand new.
Perfectly Acceptable
June 20, 2014
This is a perfectly acceptable little whistling tea kettle, and I totally disagree with others who think it is a piece of junk. It is not. It sits prettily on my stove until ready for use, I just open the little top and fill it to where the instructions say to fill it to (NB!), put the top back on and fire it up. It whistles loudly enough so that I can hear it throughout my apartment. When I pour, I just press the button and the spout cover stands up and I've never had it spill. The spout cover stand up until you push the button again. You can either put it back on the stove sans whistle, or you can put the spout cover down and hear it whistle until it's no longer hot. Your choice. It's pretty. It does the job. It's a good price. I think that says everything about it!
A TOTAL WINNER
May 3, 2014
Looks great, works great, and it's cheap! Matches my silver appliances and heats like a charm. Very glad I bought this.
Perfect
April 6, 2014
This kettle has all the features I was looking for, and I just love it. First, it works perfectly on my induction stove. Second, it whistles. Third, the mechanism to open the spout is well away from the steam and very ergonomically designed. Fourth, there is a fill opening other than the spout. Fifth, it is of ample size to fill my standard ceramic teapot. To top it all off, the kettle feels very balanced and " just right" in my hand. For me, there are no negatives at all. However, if you are looking for a very cute tea kettle you will find this one kind of plain, I suppose. If you are looking for a very large kettle, this one is medium- small.

Don't be an idiot and disassemble it over a sink.
May 4, 2017
The nut on the bottom falls off easily when you clean it and the threads don't go high enough to capture both nuts. The bottom one fell into my drain and disappeared. Make sure you don't disassemble it over the sink. I give myself one star. The Press gets 4.
Not too shabby
January 28, 2017
Great product. My only issue is that it doesn't compress all the way down unless you have a lot of coffee to fill the whole thing. Otherwise, it is well made and does the job. I use it when I travel for longer periods away from home.
My only complaint is not really about the product but rather the seller. after 2 days of receiving the french press, the seller was emailing to post reviews. I haven't even opened it or used it. I think Amazon should set rules about seller asking for reviews before at least 2 weeks.
Good value, works fine .
November 20, 2016
This is the first time I have used one, so of course I dropped it .. it seems pretty tough for glass . The plastic lid took the brunt of the hit, and chipped where the stem of the press passes through. It seemed a little brittle But, my bad! It survived, works great and went desert glamping and served us well, looks great! The only reason it isn't a 5 star...it wasn't that bad of a drop.
It cleans up wonderfully and makes great coffee with no fuss or mess
August 19, 2016
I picked this up as a secondary French Press to use at work and I'm tempted to buy another and replace mine at home. It cleans up wonderfully and makes great coffee with no fuss or mess. I love it and recommend it if you're looking for a nice little french press.
Almost Perfect... Almost!
April 3, 2016
This is my first French Press. I have a Cuisenart Grind and Brew coffee maker that makes a decent cup of coffee but it is a pain to clean after each use. With that said, I bought a Kuerig, which was much more convenient but I did not like the fact of spending more for the individual cups and the waste. I bought the refillable cup but that defeated the purpose of having the machine in the first place. After just a few years, the Keurig started spewing water all over the place rendering the machine worthless. After having coffee out of a french press at my friends house, I decided to get one myself. The press was delivered in two days. Great Amazon service. My only complaint is the same as so many others on here... I washed and dried the press, added the coffee grounds, added the water, slowly pressed the filter down, picked up the carafe to pour coffee into my mug and the bottom fell off. I was hoping that this was an isolated problem but it seems to be a manufactures defect. I guess you get what you pay for. I will keep this because I need my coffee in the morning and it makes an awesome cup. I will just stand it on my cutting board.

Looking for a High end Heavy Kettle? Then this is not it. But if your looking for a decent Kettle for a good Price this works
March 25, 2017
Wanted to use for a bit before giving a review. I have had this item for several months now and have had no problems what so ever with it at this point. I use it at least once a day if not twice for my tea or French Press. I have not experienced rust as some other have stated but I also do not leave it sitting with water in it. It look good but isn't exactly a high end pot it thin and the handle does get a bit hot but not hot enough that I have gotten burned or had to use a pot holder. Unsure how it acts on an electric stove but I have a gas stove and it works just fine on it. If you are looking for a heavy pot then this is not for you but for the price I'm happy with my purchase. There are far better kettles out there but certainly priced far higher than this kettle. So if you looking for a basic cheap kettle this suits the bill.
Great low cost pot
February 16, 2017
Great low cost tea kettle. Heats up very quicly and boils the water faster than expected. It whistles moderately loud but not overbearingly annoying to go near to take it off the heat. My only complaint is that while it is heating up it is very very loud with the heat on the bottom of it. The normal "heating pan" noise is very very loud and could wake up people sleeping if not careful. Also it stays very warm for a long time. Ive boiled water and gone back a couple hours later and it was still fairly hot.
So far, so good--nice teakettle.
September 10, 2016
I was shocked to learn that the good old Revere ware teakettles were no longer available. This was my best shot at getting an equivalent. It's not as big, and I miss the copper bottom, but I like this teakettle. The brushed look is very attractive. The size of the base and the closed domed shape make it heat up quite quickly. I'm glad to be able to fill it either through the spout (tilting the kettle) or by taking off the lid. The whistle is loud enough to be useful without sending me off my rocker before I can get to it. And I really like the two-way switch in the handle for opening and closing the lid without having to touch it. So far, so good. I'm giving it only four stars because I don't know if it will hold up well over time.
Widest bottom for good stability on a boat.
June 16, 2016
Happy with this so far. We purchased this to use on a boat. We selected it because it is stainless steel and a has a very wide bottom for stability. There is a lot of motion on a boat, so many kettles with more stylish shapes, would not be stable enough. Having owned it a couple months, we are happy with it and have had no issues. It is well designed, but lightweight. It is nice to have it lighter when empty, as it does get as heavy when full. We have not experienced any problems, but are hoping the lightweight stainless holds up, without rusting.I recommend it if you want a sturdy, basic kettle, as compared to the fancy and trendy new ones available.I pride myself on posting only meaningful and unbiased reviews. I, too, rely on reviews for my personal buying decisions and believe that legitimate reviews are invaluable to buyers. If you found this review helpful, please click “YES” below. If my opinion changes at any time, I will update this review.
Works perfectly on an induction range. Great value.
July 26, 2015
I've had this for a few weeks and am quite happy with it. When I got it, the pot did have a "plastic" smell that came off after a few uses and washes. I would suggest washing and boiling a few pots of water prior to using, but it wasn't a big deal. I use it with an induction range, and it works exceptionally well! Very quick heating, and a nice, stable base. It is NOT made of thick steel, and the plastic isn't finely finished, but for the price, it is perfectly acceptable (5/5 stars for value!). I have no functional complaints (it does its' job perfectly), but it is very light weight and has more plastic than I would like (which makes me worry about durability), so I can't give it a 5/5, but I would definitely buy one again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone who needs an inexpensive teapot.
It works and looks great
May 28, 2013
It looks sharp and heats water. There's not much to say about a tea pot, really. They are simple and they don't do a lot but this does what it's asked each morning when I, or my wife, heat water for our morning bowl of gruel...and it looks nice while doing it. What more could you ask? I recommend this tea pot as it will prove to be a nice accessory in your kitchen and may even match the color of your bloodshot eyes, depending on the previous nights activities. HA!

Quality issues
October 13, 2016
The function of this product works well. However, the product quality is questionable. The top is tarnished. After one use, there are signs of rust on a few of the pieces of the "press" part that holds the filter. I'll use it for a while, but it definitely won't last. I'll be looking for something that has better quality in the near future.
Gets a bit rusty
October 8, 2016
It is a reasonable price and works great for basic french press functions. The main complaint about this is that some of the metal pieces on the outside get a little rusty after washing. The inside remains clean and usable. It is just slightly annoying to have visibly rusty parts. The function is not affected at all, it is an overall good french press.
Product came partially broken but it works well
September 21, 2016
3 out of 5 stars because lid was partially broken. The product is great and it makes great coffee and it was exactly what I was looking for and the quality seems pretty good but unfortunately they had shipped a damaged product to me. A small piece of plastic in the lid had broken off around the plunger arm but it didn't hinder the use of the product and I was able to super glue it back on but none the less it came broken. Broken enough to irritate me but not broken enough to return
cracked after 1 month of careful usage
May 15, 2016
We have been overly cautious with this little glass french press.. but I still found it cracked below the rim about a month in. The crack is vertical from the top and goes down about an inch and half, but is under the chrome and doesn't leak... but still.
Great Price, Not So Great Quality
May 1, 2016
The price was great; however, the press started coming apart after about 1-1.5 weeks of light use. I only hand rinse top/plunger and hand wash glass pitcher. The white plastic liner on the lid/plunger had become detached making the metal dome more susceptible to rust. You can press it back in but it doesn't stay put. It also gives the top an ill fit. The bottom of the glass pitcher where the metal band cross each other started rusting after the first week of use. I know it's an inexpensive unit, but I was hoping it would last a bit longer before falling apart on me. Most of the reviews were great which is why I went with this one to begin with.

Save you money
August 16, 2017
I made the mistake of purchasing this item, even after reading the reviews. It started to rust on the inside within months. We use it several times a week, never leave water in it and open it up to dry when we are done using it. It is upsetting that a Mr. Coffee product, I really believe in the brand, would let me down right when I was about to make a cup of tea.
The only problem is that its lightweight and does not ...
April 26, 2017
The only problem is that its lightweight and does not hold up well if you have a tendency to boil it dry accidently-- In other words it melted- not into a puddle but it had to be thrown away. My old teakettle just got black and discolored but could still be used
but will not hold up like my last one
January 22, 2017
This t pot is lightweight to the point of being flimsy. It works, but will not hold up like my last one.
It's well constructed, but I prefer another.
October 18, 2016
I had a larger one of these from Mr. Coffee which was great. I always found I didn't need quite so much water at a time, so I would either leave water in or not heat as much in the first place. Not a big deal. When my previous kettle was destroyed by fire(by no fault of the kettle itself), I decided to get a smaller size. The first was a 2 quart Harpwell. I am reviewing the 1.5 Quart Carterton. Both made by Mr. Coffee. First the kettle handle gets hot during the heating process. So hot it can't be used bare handed. I figure the best way to prevent this is to have the handle straight up above the kettle during heating, but it does not prevent it. I could heat it over a lower flame, but I shouldn't have to. The other kettle handle stayed cooler. Also the mechanism to open the spout is on the actual spout. Putting your thumb or finger right where the steams going to come out. The other kettle's mechanism was built into the handle. Other than that it seems very well made, just not very well designed. Also I will say I have never owned a kettle before these two. So I didn't grow up with this type of thing in our house. I don't know if the gripes I have are to be expected with whistling kettles. I am just comparing the experience between my first kettle, and this smaller one.
Expect a hot handle and some rust
July 31, 2015
It's exactly what I wanted, low cost, easy to maintain tea kettle3 stars and not 5 because1)there's already some rust forming along the inside seam2) by the time the whistle sounds, the handle is friggin hot! Product claims this will not happen. My hands have determined that this is a lie.Still a decent product for the price, especially as I wanted a metal kettle as opposed to one made of glass (my two cats can't be trusted with glass)
More fun to heat your water for tea in a colorful kettle with a blinged out lid
April 23, 2015
The color is a delight. The pink "jewel" atop the lid is a kick and the whistle is good. Nice splash of color with white walls/stainless steel background. It is light in weight, a plus or minus depending on your perspective. My key drawback is that the black plastic handle gets quite hot on the right side of the pot. Is it my gas range burner on high the reason? I'm now in the habit of donning an oven mitt when I pick it up. Lost a star because of the hot handle issue.UPDATE AS OF APRIL 2015... Despite 2 times a week maximum use, the red paint/film is chipping off all around where the lid sits within 4 months of purchasing it. I use an ordinary all purpose household spray cleaner and paper towel to wipe the exterior when other foods splash on it. That's really gentle and still the exterior is coming off?! I now have drawback #2, an aesthetic one, which dropped it another star.

Not great.
December 4, 2016
About a week after i started using this product, i noticed rust starting to build up on the sides of the press. While the press worked well for 3 months with maybe 3-4 times per week usage, the inside seperation of the steel and a plastic cover seperated. The press is no longer useable, this is after the first one i ordered cracked randomly after 1 week of use. Very dissapointing
Filter too small
November 30, 2016
I returned this french press after one use. It was not damaged or defective, rather it was simply poorly designed. In all the other french presses I have used over the years, in all price ranges, all have had a fairly tight fit between the inside diameter of the carafe and the screen filter which is supposed to be pressed against the glass with the wire ring. This filter, while the screen did touch the glass, there was little to no pressure resulting in far too much coffee ground sliding past the filter between the screen and the glass. Not a bad thing if you like gritty coffee.

A tighter fit would have given this 4-5 stars.
Lid arrived broken
October 27, 2016
I was so excited to receive my French press after my last carafe broke and was very sad when I opened the box and the lid was broken. Given how much I was in dire need of a press I am using it anyway but will not reorder this one again
Junky coffee press
August 16, 2016
Really cheap and poorly made. I usually buy bodum but sadly went cheaper. So not worth it. Haven't even had it a month and it's falling apart. Not worth saving $10 it's a piece of crap
Too hard to keep from spilling
July 29, 2016
This French press would almost be as good as the Mr Coffee brand of the same size, minus the fact it leaks when you pour. They seem to have neglected to think about the fact that you need to leave some kind of area on the top for the liquid to easily flow out. You have to forcefully hold the top and sometimes you can pour without a lot of spill and other times it just comes out the sides. I'd say its good for the price, but you can get the Mr Coffee version for a bit more. I'd say spend the few extra dollars and save yourself the mess.

Can't Get Comfortable
August 29, 2017
This was cheap, and because it was cheap, and because I didn't have to go to the store for it, AND because I have enjoyed numerous cups of hot beverages with it, I personally can't complain too much. However, it did spot the first time I heated water in it, on the lowest setting of a new gas stove. This thing is THIN. It whistled after about seventeen seconds. Now I use the lowest setting on the smallest burner and hang around the kitchen. It buys me another fifteen to twenty seconds. Some people like to get comfortable, let the dog out, or change the clothes over. For those people, this is not the product to do that with from my experience.
Save a nickle lose a dollar...
January 28, 2017
It's funny because I'm looking for a new teakettle to replace this piece of junk when I saw it advertised I just had to rate it. I only paid $6 for it (shame on me). It doesn't whistle every time, it's so flimsy and it gets so hot that you need an oven mitt or a towel to pick it up after it starts boiling, and the screw holding the handle has come off making it too dangerous to use. That's why I'm online right now, to buy a teakettle to replace this hunk of junk.
This kettle arrived in very good condition and was very well packaged
October 25, 2016
This kettle arrived in very good condition and was very well packaged. There were dark spots on the inside at the bottom which we were able partially remove using Cameo Aluminum & Stainless Steel Cleaner. We were unable to remove the dark spots (may have been rust) along the seam inside at the bottom. Because we were worried about the safety of heating water we would be drinking, we decided to return it to Amazon. I printed the return label, attached it to the box it was shipped and gave the box to an UPS delivery truck who was in the neighborhood this afternoon. We really like the design and features of this kettle but didn't want to risk using it. This would be a super product if only it didn't have the dark spots inside; we would be willing to pay more if spots were not a problem.
Whistle Doesn't Work
June 27, 2016
I gave the teapot two stars as it is a vessel that will heat water. The metal is extremely light, and the "whistle" does not work. Instead, the kettle starts making a loud noise of air trying to escape at least 5 minutes before it actually starts boiling, and the sound does not change after the water starts boiling - so the only way to know when it's ready is by opening the lid. If you are looking for a cheap container to boil water, this will work, but if you make tea or hot water often I would not suggest purchasing this product.
Don't buy it. It barely whistles...
January 15, 2016
I recently received this product and have been quite disappointed with the performance. The whistle is audible, but barely. I think the problem is that much of the steam that should be generating the whistle escapes from around the cap that goes onto and covers the water inside the kettle. I had another kettle that could be heard from qute a distance away in another room, far from the stove. This one is heard clearly if one is in the kitchen near the stove, only.Water does boil and the water does stay hot for sometime afterwards, but insofar as being a "whistling" tea kettle, I think that is overstating it's attributes. It's not well made enough to form a tight enough seal around the top...hence the weak sound .Don't buy it.
I loved the size
November 17, 2015
I bought this tea kettle back in June. I loved the size, design and the handle. But, you know how us tea drinkers always leave a bit a water in the kettle, well, I noticed about a few weeks ago, rust forming around the edges inside. Now, the problem is, this was suppose to be a stainless steel product, so how come I have rust forming where the water sits? So it is stainless steel only on the outside and not inside? Since I have had it for 6 months now, I can't return it and get my money back. I will only recommend this product if you are the kind of person who will empty out your excess water and dry out the inside of this kettle, otherwise if you are like me, don't buy it.

It worked great for a couple of months
June 3, 2017
I used it strictly to make cold brew coffee and nothing else. It worked great for a couple of months. Then i came home from work one day and there was coffee all over my countertops and floor. The caraffe had a hairline crack all across the bottom and up the side. I put only room temperature water in there any time i used it, so i know that didnt cause it. It is too bad b/c i really liked the thing. However at this point i would not recommend and would not purchase again.
Flimsy

Seemed a little flimsy when I got it, and it proved to be correct as within a couple of weeks the glass broke while I was just shaking out coffee grounds before cleaning it. Junk.
Don't buy this item!!

Don't buy this item. It's poorly made. I purchased this item twice. The first one was delivered broken into dozens of pieces, even though the outer packaging was not damaged. I returned it and repurchased it, thinking it was a fluke. The second one arrived unbroken, but the first time we used it, the bottom came apart from the glass and scalding hot water and coffee grounds poured out all over, and my daughter got burned by the hot water. I regret purchasing this a second time. I guess it's true that you get what you pay for.
Would not recommend.

It's cheap which is a benefit but also it's downfall. There is a serious lack of QA with this item. The plastic plunger connection to the lid was broken upon arrival which I could deal with. The black plastic base falls off at every attempt to pour from it. The plastic lid does not fit properly inside the glass which makes it require to hands to pour; one to hold the press and one to hold the lid. Overall I wish I had paid more for a nicer one but at $7 this isn't worth the hassle to return.

Would not recommend.
Useless

Finally got a chance to use it, and the bottom splintered as soon as the hot water went in.

Not a good purchase. Leaks steaming hot water
November 19, 2016
Appearance wise, its awesome. love the look, love the color, easy swing handle...but whats its purpose? to pour hot steamy water from the spout into your cup. Every use is a clean up. it drips hot steaming water out the lower part of the spout while pouring out the top. Ive tried twisting, tightening...everything, it still leaks a mess of hot steamy water all over my counter. We have children that i always need to make sure stand way back so i can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. so disappointing.
Junk. Won't whistle when the water is ready
May 25, 2016
I wouldn't categorize this as the nicest teakettle I've ever used, not by a long shot. The problem with it is the cover for the spout. I've only had this for a week, used it about 5 times, and already the spout cover is not fully covering the spout, so when the water heats up, the steam just POURS out of it, and the teakettle therefore never whistles anymore. It still heats up the water alright, but without the signature feature of a teakettle missing it's whistle to let me know when the water is ready, it is a rather pedestrian item......The steel part of it works fine...It's the VERY cheap plastic parts that make this a junk teakettle. Will be returning it. Going to order an OXO one which has never failed me.
DO NOT BUY- see pics

This bottom of the tea kettle chipped and I did not realize I had been drinking metal that had been chipping from the bottom.
Poor quality, rusting after five months of use.

We have had this kettle for less than five months and it already starting to rust! The kettle is very light and poorly designed. Don't waste your money.
Handle gets hot & burns your hand! Unacceptable
April 28, 2015
Boil water, take the pot off the stove, burn your hand on the handle! This tea kettle is dangerous and should be taken off the market?
Major disappointment. Front part of handle fell apart on first ...

Major disappointment. Front part of handle fell apart on first heating. Handle untouchable after boiling water. You're going to "get what you pay for" and it won't be a lot.
