Five Star Reviews: | 83% Awesome cover for great price Ram 1500 5'7" September 15, 2017 I bought this based on reviews written here. I have this on a 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5'7" bed. Very fast shipping and easy to install. Looks great and comes with a lifetime warranty on hardware, and 10 years on the cover. I have a couple of friends with the spring laded covers. They really like this one better and they paid much more than I did. We'll see how it lives up to a New England winter in a few months, but based on how it's constructed, and the reviews here, I don't think I have to worry. Will buy again. August 26, 2017 I was a little scared to buy this at first. But hands down it's amazing. We had it installed in 30 minutes and it keeps everything in the bed of the truck dry when it rains. The little light that comes with it is a joke but that doesn't make or break it Definitely a great buy for the money! August 23, 2017 I have had this on my 2013 Ram 1500 Express for several months now, and it has kept the bed of my truck clean and dry the whole time. I haven't had any issues with it at all. The little stick-on light that comes with it was pretty useful until it fell off and refused to stick any more. It would probably stick to a metall unlined bed better than the plastic bedliner that is in mine. Five Stars February 19, 2016 Really impressed with how it fits on my Dodge Ram. I live in Seattle where we get tons of different weather, and of course a ton of rain. My bed stays dry. The best part about this product is telling people what I paid for it. Everyone is shocked and asks where I bought it. I love promoting good companies with great products, and this by far as been one of my best purchases for my truck so far. Shipped really fast! Top notch tri-fold cover for pick up truck! January 20, 2016 We purchased this several weeks ago for our 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, and I wanted to wait for some weather before posting a review. It was easy to install - I say as I was taking pictures watching my husband do all the work! I quizzed him all during the process and he was amazed at how quickly it installed. He did go back and make some adjustments that took a little time, but the included directions made it easy to do. It was packaged well and arrived without damage. It even came with a very sturdy bag to store it in if you ever decide to remove it for some reason. Since it's been installed, my husband has loaded 400# of sand bags into the bed of the truck and right away we had several inches of rain. We've also had several inches of snow this week - and the sandbags are still nice and dry. He was actually concerned about where the tailgate meets the cover, that it might allow moisture in, but it has stayed nice and dry. It also comes with straps that hold down the folded-up cover, if you need to travel with the cover open. While I can't say how this will be over the course of time, we have been very impressed with the quality thus far. It seems very sturdy and well made- and it makes the truck look sharp too :) | 70% Easy install, works great September 1, 2017 Easy Install – pretty much plug and play. It looked like the keys wouldn’t fit with their large handle and the slot being right under the middle of the handle, but it works fine. It is a little awkward having that right in the middle of where you grab the handle as opposed to other factory ones that are beside the handle, but this functions perfectly so far, time will tell if it’s durable. Great to be able to add a lock to the tailgate since Dodge neglected to do so for some reason. Looks custom & easy install. November 26, 2016 This is a great product less expensive than a stock piece or a pop&lock,easy install just need the right bit & socket to remove tailgate cap & old handle,one thing though after install check the spring clip to make sure it doesn't rub on tailgate frame it might need a little filing,so after bolted down pull handle a few times & check function 07 dodge ram,also a little wd40 on each side of tailgate retracker's will improve the movement of metal on metal pieces. Bully LH-007WD on a 2003 Ram 3500 August 17, 2016 This review is more about the install than the product value/function/longevity. Installed on a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 truck.Assuming you have the proper tools immediately available and have a modicum of mechanical reason and ability, it will take you no more than 10 minutes to install this product.I also had a drill to use with my Torx T30 bit for the tailgate inner panel fasteners, which made the job a bit simpler. Add to that an 8 MM socket for using on the two nuts that hold the latch on and it is a straightforward job. While you are in the innards of the tailgate, take the time to lube the fittings and moving parts. And while you are at it, go ahead and replace the tailgate straps, if they are older, and don't wait for them to break.As far as function, it appears to function just as the old with the exception that your fingers will now bump into the lock, which was the entire reason I bought the unit. I don't see that new normal as being a problem.Longevity; only time will tell but keeping the lock lubed, especially during freezing weather, would be a wise idea. It was super easy to install and only took about 10 minutes February 15, 2015 The Bully LH-007 Tailgate lock fit perfectly on my 2003 dodge ram 1500. This was a cheap replacement to the stock tailgate handle that did not have a lock. It was super easy to install and only took about 10 minutes. All you have to do is take off about ten screws on the inside of the tailgate and remove another two screws under the panel that hold the old handle in place. Then you just repeat the process in the reverse order to install the new one. Youtube has some good examples of what to do if you have any confusion. It works great and comes with two keys. When the handle is locked it will not pull out at all and feels pretty sturdy. Overall, I am very happy with this product especially for the price! Highly recommend to anyone who has a vehicle this fits and does not have a locking tailgate. Great buy. Cheap way to deter theives November 12, 2013 This is a great product - I installed on a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. I replaced the stock Dodge unit (that had no lock). Four Star Reviews: | 11% Covers my stuff August 16, 2017 So far so good. Not perfect but this cover was easy to install and does the job I needed. It keeps my foursomes golf clubs dry to and from the course. At the very back of my window I can see a moist spot after heavy rain but nothing that would cause a serious issue. For the price it good enough and does look really good on my truck. I did place the weather stripping on the bed behind my window because I did no need it on the tailgate. A thicker piece of weather stripping should seal out any moisture. The magnet in the light will not work is you have a plastic bed liner or if it's a spray on. The magnet is not strong enough. Not a fan of the lights design but it's just extra and does work if you don't use cheap batteries. I would buy it again. will update this in a month or so but for now it is as described and looks great on my 2015 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab May 12, 2017 Only 1 day on, will update this in a month or so but for now it is as described and looks great on my 2015 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab. I do wish it was about 2 inches longer. This is a universal fit so dont expect it to conform to your bed. As you may know, Dodge truck tailgates have a curve in them so it took a few extra attempts to line it up but all in all it took maybe 5 minutes to install. It fits tights and looks great. July 26, 2016 I purchased another brand of tri-fold cover and I sent it back because the corners all stuck up into the air. This cover is significantly better, but still not perfectly flat like a more expensive roll up cover. The cover itself and the clamps are sturdier on this one as well. I would definitely recommend this cover for the price. it did great on its first road trip and during light rain May 24, 2016 I am very precise and meticulous so it took me about 30 minutes to get aligned correctly and folded out, anchor spots marked, etc. The clamps need to be adjusted as need-be based on your truck as they are not consistent in the same pegs when shipped. I will probably need a replacement clamp near the tailgate within a month or two, as it was hard to open and close right out of the box and while installed. Other than this, it did great on its first road trip and during light rain. | 17% Fit 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 October 8, 2017 It fits pretty well, if you look close enough you can see that there is a small gap at the top of thw handle. Installation was simple. The plastic feels really cheap though. It flexes when pulled on while in locked position. I bought this specifically for the purpose of further deterring any tailgate thieves and even though it doesn't feel as strong as the factory handle, it serves the purpose well. or aluminum like that other brand September 24, 2017 Saw this tailgate lock when I bought my tonneau cover on Amazon. I always wanted to get a locking tailgate release but kept putting it off so since it was right there staring me in the face I put it in the cart with the tonneau cover. I have to say this was the most simple install I've put on my truck in over ten years. The lock works flawlessly. Probably the only nit is that the lock is under the handle and your fingers hit it every time you open the tailgate plus it may become a bit of an issue with gloves on considering the Ram tailgate is kind of heavy unlike a chevy truck that's so light you would think it's made from tinfoil.....or aluminum like that other brand. A good buy. Good fit and finish and easy install, but it's not really going to stop a determined thief... February 7, 2017 Installation was super easy, and it provides a small measure of security for anyone not willing to break it to gain access. I say this, because the unit feels a little less solid and sturdy than the original handle, and I'm pretty sure I could break it and gain access to the tailgate if I really wanted to (hence the lost star). I got this for a '07 2500 5.9L. It has the years it will fit on the front and rear of the package. Comes with two keys and booklet. That was the whole reason I went with a tri fold tonneau cover but apparently it's a bi fold not a tri fold. Easy to install and good looking February 18, 2016 Installed third unit in 13 months today. First had one stud break from the plastic after a year. Second broke both studs free after one week installed. We'll see how this one lasts. Plastic surrounding the studs seems fairly thick and secure. I used star washers on the studs to secure so that they were not installed too tightly and for some give to account for weather (cold/hot) changes that may contribute to failure. Easy to install and good looking. Fits flush to the tailgate bodywork. Keys easily turn lock with no binding. Amazon replaced second unit under warranty in two days after failure. Bully LH-007 Dodge Tailgate Lock February 7, 2014 The handle and housing is plastic and the lock is metal.This is my 2nd one because the cheap pot-metal screw broke after 2 years.Maybe I'll send the old one back to Bully and they'll give me a replacement?There really isn't a good alternative so we are stuck with this.The new trucks have a better lock design, but that tailgate doesn't fit. :(The true weakness of this product is that the built in screws are molded in the plastic.Bully should redesign this with a metal plate at the lock and replaceable screws in case they strip or break. It works May 6, 2013 I ordered this lock for my brothers truck because my neighbor had his tailgate stolen on my street. The first lock that I ordered broke when I was installing it (There Are Plastic Parts on it), I contacted Amazon and they replaced it for free! (I paid S&H). After installing the second one, I found it works well. It would be nice if it had less plastic parts but now-a-days that is hard to find with all the plastic parts coming from China.P.S. My neighbor replaced his tailgate for $300.00This lock was less then $20.00 Can't beat the price. February 8, 2013 I purchased this product and thought all was well. It feels comparable to OEM handle, but for less than 20 bucks I didn't expect a lot.Installation went well no problems, actually really simple. Used it for a while then went to open my tailgate one day and the whole handle assembly broke off leaving the bolts in the tailgate. I spoke with amazon and they sent me another one out no problems. Installed that one and have had no problems the last few months.The one thing that bugs me is that it does not sit flush against the tailgate. If you look at it there is an apparent gap which while pulling on the handle gets larger. If that does not bother you then you should be in good shape. Two Star Reviews: | 1% Cheap bed cover would not order again. February 10, 2017 The cover in question, while works, has some draw backs in my opinion. First, the vinyl cover is not very thick, so I foresee me buying another cover in two years. Second, the latch system to attach the cover to the bed is fair at best. The rear latches are more or less fine, other than side to side adjustment (that made this cover fit too many applications). However the front latches need to be spring loaded clasps, not this flimsy plastic clip on a bolt. They move all over the place, and if you "lock" them in place to fold up the cover they fall down wanting the puncture the cover, poor design. Third, I hope once it gets warmed in the sun and "settles" on my truck is seals better. Currently there are gaps regardless the adjustment I do front to rear and side to side. That all said about the cover, the package was nice and neat. The instruction were clear. The strips of foam for the tailgate are very plush (however pointless since the bed cover doesn't really fit). Overall I am disappoint and if it wasn't such a hassle to mail something this big back, I would return it. Works but not as good as others ive had January 11, 2017 The price is nice on this, delivery was good. Packaging and all good as well. This product does fall short for me though. I previously had a trifecta by extang on a 2014 ram quad cab.. More money but better cover. The fabric on these feel brittle like they may Crack in the winter. Not as water tight. The clamps don't ever seem to be in the right location for my truck. 2016 ram crew cab. I needed one for a trip and didn't believe there was that much difference. There is. I will switch back to the other brand I had previously. If money is issue this is a decent cover but can't see it lasting long, as I have a slight Crack in the folding seam already. If you can swing something more pricey with better mounting clamps, that are specific to vehicle, spend it. Just being honest on my experience. Others have had excellent experience, just not me. It's great. I have already had to replace this cover ... September 24, 2016 I bought this because of the positive reviews and affordable price. I'm having to give it two stars, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you. Here's my problem. It flew off one day while I was driving. I may have been going 80mph. So above the speed limit but not so far it should snap the plastic clips off the metal rails. If your getting this for a work truck or don't drive very fast. It's great. I have already had to replace this cover with in a year for 70.00 more I bought the truxsedo from tannoe covers and I can definitely tell you the quality was superior to that of the tiger. My suggestion is spend the extra 70.00 dollars the first time. ... get this cover on your truck it is a great water sealed cover August 22, 2016 First of all after you get this cover on your truck it is a great water sealed cover. That being said unfortunately when this product arrived or had some significant scratched in the cover. As well as many of the screws were not correctly installed. When I went to attached this cover to my truck a few of the screws fell out all over the place. As well as a few of the screws already installed in the were stripped causing even more of a headache during the install. If you / when you get the cover on it is pretty solid. This was not stated as possible issue prior to ordering. Should call it WIMpy! November 9, 2015 Broke after 16 months - light use only. Lock must be heavily lubricated and the bolts holding it are housed in cheap plastic which soon disintegrates.I do not recommendUpdate.....when you take off your BROKEN BULLY TAILGATE...BECAUSE IT WILL BREAK - do not throw away the 8 mm nuts like I did.....the cheapo manufacturer in China doesnt include them in the packaging. One Star Reviews: | 1% Complete garbage! September 21, 2017 My wife bought this cover for me based on the review we had read... Big mistake. I did not expect much for the price in the first place but here goes...IT DOES NOT FIT CORRECTLY! It does not line up even, and the hinges where it folds, the vinyl looks shoddy and does not line up. I followed the instructional video from Tyger and the thing would not even lay flat. The craftsmanship is poor and does not really look like it was designed to fir the truck as they claim. Save your money and get a REAL brand or do what I am, Gator BakFlip G2.MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! Oh I forgot to mention, we ordered it overnight, UPS had a problem and did not get it out on time, so the purpose for which it was originally needed is no longer (14 days to get here). Off to the return!! Bad vinyl, had hole in it when I first opened it. November 12, 2016 I have seen a lot of great reviews about this product and that's why I purchased one for my truck, but when I received my cover I placed it on the truck and unfolded it and on the first panel closest to the truck there was a cut in the so-called high-strength vinyl where the rear latch handle was hitting the panel. I know they have a warranty but you have to take all sorts of pictures send them in and then you have to pay to ship the old one back and hope that the new one doesn't have the same problem so I'm just going to cut my losses now and keep this one until the hole is too big to be useful and then by myself a higher-quality tonneau cover. The only good thing I have to say about it is I have a 2016 Ram 1500 big horn and does fit nicely and looks good on it, the framework looks good and it does seal good. most people seem pleased but I was missing parts and have fit issues. I went to the hardware store and got the weatherstripping and light just so I could get it on but I shouldn't have to spend extra money or time hunting down parts to complete the instal. But the material plastic that holds the two screws in place is too cheap and thin. After three days of use (in the cold) the handle came right off. It should not matter if it is cold or not the material that holds it in place should be strong enough. If not anyone could just pull the lock rights off and it wouldn't matter if the tailgate was locked with the key or not , since the tailgate lock is not strong enough to stay in place or handle a strong pull. Failed due to poor manufacturing processes. September 23, 2014 This bully tailgate lock is good in theory, but in practice one of the welded bolts that are embedded in the plastic failed. It sheared off where it was welded to the cap. If you are interested I can post a picture.
