Five Star Reviews: | 70% Parents LOVE them and swear by them! September 15, 2017 Ok, I am NOT a fan of these power paks because they do not agree with my stomach. HOWEVER, I order these for my mom and dad when they need them and my rating and review is based on their love for these. Per their review, these are awesome! They keep us healthy through cold and flu season and give us plenty of energy all day long. We drink them in our water first thing every morning. How much easier to get your vitamins into your smoothie....great for traveling too! March 23, 2017 Another good product that I add to my smoothie to give me my vitamins and it taste so good too! I am so glad I found these online as it takes out all the work for me trying to add different vitamins etc to my smoothie every day. Now all I have to do is open this envelope....add ice, fruit and almond milk and I have a great tasting smoothie that is good for me too! The taste was subtle-not sweet and very light/citrusy August 14, 2016 2017 They have updated the taste so I am updating my review. Since my last review, they substituted some elements with tumerivnand the taste is now more organic (although not as fizzy as the original recipient). Now that the strange tangerine taste is out, I consider it a full 5 as it is an excellent pre-workout hydrating drink and a great post work out restorative drink. About me/the reviewer: hot yoga 4 times a week/long distance biker during the summer. --- Had I rated this before my June order, I would have given it a full 5 stars. The taste was subtle-not sweet and very light/citrusy. Just as important, it was effective at countering rehydration. Since my June 2016 purchase, I am very disappointed that they changed the flavor. It is sweeter and has a synthetic almost tangerine taste. They should have rolled omit out as a different flavor and not ruined a perfectly good flavor. I'm a little disgtuntlef because I had a big supply already and bought th last round in anticipation of summer and now that I am using the new one-I'm just discovering the change which the seller/manufacturer did not disclose. Bottom line I am stuck with it. I am now hunting for an alternative- Makers of Power Pak let me know if you ever bring the original flavor back. For Me, It's A Lifesaver July 1, 2014 I tried this product in the hopes that it would help my body better absorb the water I drink. It's better than I had hoped for, and it actually tastes good too! For the last several years, I've been trying to find an effective electrolyte/vitamin C product. I've tried every mix and supplement I could find, ranging from the cheap to the very expensive, but none of them worked (a few of them would have a slight effect for 2 weeks, but then stop working). I've always had severely dry skin, despite having a very clean vegan diet, and everything I drink tends to rush through my system without actually hydrating me. It was typical for me to wake up 3 times a night just to use the bathroom, each time also feeling very thirsty. My diet is naturally low in sodium, and further reducing my sodium intake had no effect other than making me crave salt. In October of 2013, I saw this product on the shelf of my local Whole Foods and decided to try it. I was immediately impressed with the taste - it's satisfyingly tart and sweet. Mind you, I put 1 packet in 16-20oz of water, not the 6-8oz recommended (I find it just as effective, and 1 packet per cup of water is just too strong of a flavor for me). During the rest of that day, I noticed I didn't feel as thirsty as I usually do, and didn't have to run to the bathroom every 2 hours. I continued to use it, adding a packet to my water bottle every time I filled it up. In addition to fewer bathroom visits, I also noticed some other very positive effects: - I could finally exercise outside in the sun without getting a headache. Before discovering the Trace Minerals electrolyte drink mix, I would get horrible headaches after spending more than 30 minutes walking or running in the sun. Nothing would get rid of them, and I'd just have to wait for them to fade away on their own. Now, I drink some before my run and add it to the water I drink during my run. I haven't gotten a headache since. - My skin is much smoother and looks better. The last time my mom saw me, she exclaimed "Your skin looks AMAZING!" The only change I had made since our previous visit was drinking the Trace Minerals mix regularly. - I have less of a sweet tooth, and I don't crave salt anymore. Sometimes when I want something sweet after a meal, just drinking some water with the electrolyte mix in it will satisfy my craving. That's helped me a lot as I try to lose a couple vanity pounds. Also, I've always craved salt. Although my diet is low sodium, I would sprinkle RealSalt on every meal I had. I felt like I couldn't get enough salt. However, after drinking the electrolyte mix my cravings have greatly reduced. Now I add very little, if any, salt to my food and I don't constantly crave it. - In addition to looking better, my skin is much more hydrated. I used to have to apply lotion after every shower, and to my hands every time after washing them. Otherwise, my hands would feel horribly dry, and the skin on my arms and legs would feel so dry it would itch. I had to have a little bottle of lotion in every purse and backpack I own, even during the summer. Since using the electrolyte mix, I almost never use lotion. My skin never feels dry/itchy anymore and I only have to apply lotion to my hands a couple of times a month during the cold months. Overall, this product has become a lifesaver for me. I'm incredibly impressed with it, and I'll continue to take it every day. Great replacement for Emergen-C (and why I wanted one) November 26, 2013 In case you didn't know, Alacer sold out to Pfizer, who now puts aspartame in Emergen-C. This isn't the place for a debate on whether, in fact, aspartame is toxic and kills brain cells. I'm convinced, so I decided to look for an alternative product, and I tried a number of them. I found the taste of this brand the most like Emergen-C (and the most pleasant to me), with the same basic pre-Pfizer ingredients (plus an additional 200 mg of C), at a decent price. | 75% cramps were so bad I had to call for a ride December 15, 2016 This'll get lost in the mix, but I owe them enough to write it. I got these pills for biking. Do they work? Yes. I did a 44 mile loop 3 times with them and 1 time without them. The time without them I couldn't finish, cramps were so bad I had to call for a ride. The 3 times I did it with them I didn't have a hint of cramps (or fatigue, really) even the next day. They work. Also.. Years ago, I ran on the treadmill. I got to the point where I could go 60 minutes .. but I'd have to wait 1 day between runs. I was cramped up pretty bad so every other day was the best I could do. (that was when I was 43 years old) Now I'm 47. I haven't run in 3 years (I hurt my feet and they took a long time to heal..) and just getting back up to 60 minutes at a time.. and with the pills I'm running EVERY DAY. When I'm done? I shower.. and forget I did anything. Zero fatigue, zero cramps. Next day? Back on the treadmill ready to rock. The one time I forgot? HURT after running and couldn't do much the next day. BUY THESE PILLS NOW. I'm getting more (on my 3rd bottle) and wouldn't even consider doing anything without them. LOVE THEM. Great Product! It really works! October 14, 2016 This product really works. First tried this during a 15 mile trail run in very hot humid conditions, and it saved me bonking. I've used it since then and it works well every time. Start taking it the day before if you're running in hot and/or humid conditions; and, even if you're not, you still need the electrolytes and this is a great way to get it. I think the price at about $20 a bottle is ok. It is a little difficult to find in bike or running stores, but it is worth the effort tracking it down or buying online. I take 1 about every or so during a marathon at a water stop, and take it with whatever other gel/beverage/block etc that I might be taking. Wash it down with plenty of water or beverage. The best thing you can say about this product: It works!! Endurolytes keep my legs feeling strong all day long May 27, 2016 I attended a fueling seminar held by a pair of triathlete coaches whom recommended this for long periods of exercise. I am an avid cyclist and often do Gran Fondo events and century rides. I would cramp and legs would feel heavy in the later part of the rides. I tried these and was blown away by how well they replenished the electrolytes lost during intense cycling. I now take two or four per hour when cycling and I feel strong throughout my rides. Just the "right" amount of electrolyte supplementation. December 5, 2013 I use these during and after every long run. It could be a complete placebo effect, but I feel better several hours after a run if I take a couple of these during the run. From a nutritional standpoint, they are better than other electrolyte supplements because they offer replenishment of more common electrolytes over many other products that give you only sodium and potassium. Electrolyte imbalance is a fuzzy science, and which ones you need (and when) will vary from person to person and from day to day. That said, these seem to offer a good amount of each, without going overboard on any of them. Of course, "good" is a very subjective term, but I like to think that these provide just the necessary amounts of each to keep everything working. Working WELL is up to you, as these are supplements, not a replacement for proper eating habits. In other words, Endurolytes might give you just enough Chorlide or Potassium to meet a basic requirement for function, but you'd be wise to find an actual source of these nutrients on a regular dietary basis. Solved the mystery of the terrible post-run nausea! February 20, 2013 I have been running now for about 8 years. About an hour after my long runs (4-7 miles), I noticed I would get a terrible flu-like nausea that would last for about an hour. It was horrible and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out it was an electrolyte deficiency! I thought I was dehydrated but for some reason my body expels electrolytes like crazy so now I take 2 of these electrolytes after a run, usually along with Gatorade, and I am good to go. I am so relieved to find out what was causing me such sickness. Hammer's electrolytes have no calories, sugar or other additives which I like. I would recommend these to anyone, especially to people experiencing the strange post-workout symptoms I had!!! |
Four Star Reviews: | 9% Effective drink September 15, 2016 I bought this product to replace my husbands Gatorade, he works in the heat. He has been very happy with it. I began drinking it during workouts and I've been very pleased with it's effectiveness. I gave it 4 stars because of the vitamin aftertaste. I will continue to by this product and would highly recommend it to anyone. good product. August 5, 2016 Solid flavor. I definitely like the taste of the Trace Minerals Green Pak better. But it does work, especially on a hangover. when i get home after a night out ill chug one of these before i got to sleep and one first thing in the morning. life changer. Good tasting and convenient. July 17, 2016 I purchased this product for a sister who needed extra nutritional help. The packets dissolve easily in water, making them convenient to take and much easier to swallow than a pill or tablet. There are several flavors to choose from. and I think I’ve tried them all. My sister loved the orange, but I think raspberry is my favorite. Great for preventing leg cramps August 5, 2015 I used to get leg cramps after playing a round of golf. I started using one pack of this during my round and no longer have a problem with my legs cramping. The taste is not great, but I am happy with the results. This is the only flavor I have tried. | 12% Good product June 25, 2016 I open six capsules add to my gatorade in my water bottles on my bike and go. I used the product today and I felt great, so I will continue to use. If you are in a hot climate this product will help you. Love using these during long endurance bike rides August 10, 2015 Love using these during long endurance bike rides. They really help with preventing muscle cramps and prevent me from getting dehydrated, even when it is 90+ degrees outside (obviously pair with adequate amounts of water for full effect). I'll admit too, my friends and I have used these before going to bed after a night of wine drinking or day of tailgating at college football games and they seem to help get through the next morning as well haha A Must Part Of My Runs/Rides While Living In Rain Forest July 27, 2014 I am not sure if its psychological or if physiologically due to these tabs or a little of both, but after i have started to use them I feel like my exercising and performance and recovery time seems to have drastically improved. Lets paint the picture, I am roughly 6'1" and 235 lbs. I currently am doing an expat for work for a few years in Singapore which is roughly on the equator in Asia in a very humid and tropical rain forest climate. I roughly (5) times a week do trail runs and/or mountain bike rides in jungle for anywhere from 1-3 hours per outing. Having done roughly the same thing prior to using these tablets it would be very painful towards the end, and on rare occasion i would feel light headed, even though i would drink tons of water. Adding these supplements seem to have improved both my physical performance both in time and distance and my post exercise recovery seems to be better as well. My process is that prior to exercising I take a Hammer Nutrition Endurolyte Pill and then use the NUUN Tablets in my camelbak as well as adding to my post workout cooldown water consumption. Reason for the (4) is that when I break them open to fill water bottles the taste is kind of blah, where as the NUUN tablets have nice flavor. Doctor recommended, but he's MY doctor, younger and better conditioned. Results could be placebo effect ... or not. July 26, 2013 I've been having difficulty managing longer hikes and hot weather lately. I know I don't drink enough before and during my hilly walks. I don't like lugging around all that water (8 pounds a gallon), and drinks like Gatorade give me have way too much sodium. So my doctor, who happens to be a cyclist on the same trails as I hike, recommended Hammer Electrolyte Capsules. Today was the second day that I tried them, three before my hike, three after the first hour, and two after the second hour. I drank a total of 16 ounces of water. Well, I didn't feel like passing out and I was not out of breath. That's a positive change from the last four weeks. I really can't say that these electrolyte supplements did the trick. After all, I'd need a control group, and right now with my issues, I'm a group of one. This could be a placebo effect because my doctor recommended them, but I'm smart enough to know that my doctor's in a hell of a lot better shape than I am AND he's 23 years younger. Not a good comparison. In the next five weeks, the plan is for around 20 hikes, although 13 of those will be done on the coast and in much cooler climes. I'll report back. If I finish all of the hikes, this will get 5 stars. |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Good and Not So Good August 22, 2017 I am a nearly 70-year old swimmer, being the member of a Masters swim team. Our workouts caused me to get leg cramps until I started adding a packet of this product to the water I keep pool side and ingest during workouts. It stopped the cramping, so I like the product very much and continue to use it. You may ask why I gave 3 stars out of a possible 5, if it is doing its job? The reason is that many, many of the packets have leaked, with the granules being attacked by humidity. As a result of the attack, instead of being fine granules that easily mix with water, the contents of the packets a hardened, stuck-together "wafers" that (1) stick to the packets, (2) won't dissolve easily, and (3) taste stale. Great product, but not a great flavor August 8, 2017 Great product, but not a great flavor. Tastes fake, unlike the orange burst (which was out of stock when I ordered). It has sugar, but also stevia, which may account for the fake taste. I'd rather things be less sweet than contain sugar substitutes. However, still works. I feel a lot better after working out in the heat if i drink one of these. Mixed review May 31, 2017 This is a great source of electrolytes AND energy. However, I simply do not like the MIXED BERRY. Help with blood sodium levels and rehydration after running September 19, 2016 My nutritionist recommended these to help with my blood sodium levels, which tend to be low. The powder mixes into your water and tastes very similar to something like Emergen-C (but healthier.) I have started taking these after my runs and I believe that they help me rehydrate and keep my sodium levels regulated. Would love to try some of the other flavors, but this one tastes just fine if you like a classic, fizzy orange medicinal drink. Love the taste, hate the sugar... August 4, 2016 This has been my go to for Vitamin C and electrolyte replenishment for a few years. Before and after drinking, after working out... it's been a lifesaver. I always loved the flavor. I would give this 5 stars, but I'm so sad it's made with sugar (and stevia... why both?). I'm now using the Ultima Replenisher, which doesn't taste nearly as good, but has no sugar (no kidding). Electro Mix would be my second choice. Stay hydrated guys, anxiety is directly linked to dehydration! | 3% Not convinced June 16, 2017 After years of avoiding these, I finally decided to try them in a race I've done three times before. Even though the event was only about 3.5 hours long, I typically get leg cramps in the last 30-45 minutes. I took 1 before the race and 5 during the race (mixed with my sports gel and water). Unfortunately, I couldn't tell any difference. Still had cramping in almost the exact same spot in the race and in my legs. Like before, I was able to ride through it. Really can't say I noticed any difference. Seems like an expensive gimmick to me, though most racers I know use them. I've been using these pills when cycling and I have ... April 17, 2017 I've been using these pills when cycling and I have not seen a difference. I have not seen any negative effects so I guess the jury is still out. Thought this would be good for muscle cramps after workouts but found it was ... February 18, 2016 Thought this would be good for muscle cramps after workouts but found it was problematic for sensitive digestive system Worth a try if you run distance January 4, 2016 I like these for during or after really really long runs. I would only recommend them for people who are training for full marathons or ultras. I'm only giving them three stars though because they made me really sick. I am sure they work fine on most people but I have a very sensitive stomach, so I would just caution all buyers to be aware if they have a sensitive stomach. It's better than nothing June 1, 2014 My husband works in 100 degree weather several months out of the year where he's sweating constantly. He hates Gatorade and wanted something he could take with his water that would hydrate him better; something cheaper than SmartWater. He tried these a little at a time and said he couldn't tell any difference in how he felt. He gradually upped the dose taken at one time and they nauseated him. These didn't work for him, but if you don't have a sensitive stomach, they may work for you. |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Yucky new taste August 3, 2017 I LOVE Power Pak liquimins, and I depend on them to get me through my sweaty life in 105-degree heat. However, I am giving this flavor only 2 stars because whatever the "Better Taste!" improvement is, they have gone the wrong way. I find the flavor disgusting compared with the previous product. Guys, if you want to improve it, don't add vanilla-flavored perfume! If anything, it needs more sharp lemony taste. I add lime juice to all the flavors, and it is SO much better. IMO, of course. But the product is fantastic, if a bit over-priced. Kids hate it! Must be disguised! August 14, 2016 Taste is not the same as a previous Raspberry 0.24oz. Acai berry 0.33oz was ok. The Concord grape I had to return 0.22oz. We used to be able to drink these in water. Now we have to disguise it in heavy flavors. Better choice- get the plain stuff and do away with the unnecessary additives like fructose flavor etc. Sacrificed Taste for Non-GMO :( August 6, 2016 If you care more about Non-GMO than you do about taste go for this one. If you want to like what you're drinking without an artificial aftertaste, stick with the acai berry version it's MUCH better. | 4% The product works great, 5 stars February 19, 2016 The product works great, 5 stars. I have used it for years for endurance running and its helpful, especially in humidity. The two stars are for the fulfillment from this vendor. They are not supposed to have a smell or taste, The bottle I received smells and tastes bad, and it's getting worse. The product still works, but the taste is terrible. It took me a while to realize the pills are probably rancid, this is confirmed by the other comments about the taste from others. This is probably my fifth year of using these pills and they have never smelled before. I've used too many to return them at this point. Do order these for any endurance training, but pick a reputable fulfillment company to buy from. Two Stars July 13, 2014 Not as much electrolytes as I would have wished. Check the amounts very close. It does not work June 8, 2014 Used it. It did not stop my cramping. I actually feel stiffer when I take this during a long run. didn't help w/ cramping May 30, 2014 Bought a bottle of these based on some positive reviews regarding preventing cramps. However, these did not help out at all with the cramp-attacks I would experience after ~2.5hours into an MTB ride. Someone else recommended Sportslegs which worked wonders for me in keeping the cramps away. Couldn't really tell the difference. April 10, 2014 Couldn't really tell if this was working or not. This probably works for some people but not me. Gels work better for me. |
One Star Reviews: | 11% Good product, suppliers product not fresh August 10, 2017 This is a great product, I have been using it for many years. The last shipment from Drakes Discounts however has been sub standard quality. I ordered two boxes. I worked my way through the first one in spite of the fact that many of the pouches the granules were all clumped together like they had been moist. I had hoped the second box would be better but after using a few pouches discovered a fair number are the same way. Cannot Use August 1, 2017 I was very disappointed in that I cannot use it. Did not see on the description that it contain shell fish. I was very disappointed in this product March 7, 2017 I was very disappointed in this product. I wanted a flavor add for my BCAA drinks. This is just like emergen-c but less stuff in it. It actually smells bad when you open the package up (smells like some ... September 9, 2016 For at least 10 years Trace minerals has had the same mixture and flavorings with respect to the Orange packet. Recently, they changed the flavor and added a "small amount" of sugar. The taste is now AWFUL. It actually smells bad when you open the package up (smells like some kind of bad medicine). Trace Minerals why fix something that wasn't previously broke?? Help, please September 7, 2016 I've used this product for years, and it's been great: nice tangy, effervescent powder that mixed well with my morning protein drink. But the manufacturer has recently changed it, and my recent purchase from AMAZON was mustard yellow, only 30 packs to the box, and had no zip at all to it. I'd be grateful to anyone who could help me locate the original Electrolyte Stamina Power Pak product. HELP. | 6% it smells bad, original expire date was july 2016 June 21, 2017 I WAS ROBED!!!!!! Dont buy this item, i received a relabeled expire product, it smells bad, original expire date was july 2016, and i purchased it on january 2017, i was robed!!!!!!!! One Star April 4, 2017 Wow, can't believe they just relabeled an expired product, WTH! Not what I expected! I had horrible leg cramps before taking this product and still had ... January 2, 2015 Does not work. I had horrible leg cramps before taking this product and still had horrible leg cramps after using this product. I went and bought a bottle of Potassium and a bottle of Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc and started taking one of each every day and viola, no more leg cramps since. Sorry I wasted the money on this. Are these placebo? December 17, 2013 They don't work at all, and you have to take a ton of these pills in order for them to work. I felt like I was going to overdose because I kept getting cramps on a motorcycle enduro race. swithched to Sicaps and these did the job well |
