Great buy!
September 3, 2017
Let me tell you, I love this thing! I make pico de gallo and my family has to have the tomatoes and onions cut super small...ain't nobody got time for that!!!! But this little guy dices the tomatos and onions to perfection and makes the process soooooooooo quick and easy!!! Oh and let me add that I made 10a# of potato salad and it cut my time in less than half of what it normally takes to dice up the potatos!!! The price can't be beat! Buy it without hesitation, you won't be sorry...I purchased this product it was not free...
love it

this is actually my second purchase of this item, I chopped my way through three bushels of tomatoes and other veggies this canning season. this is my third season using this chopper and while it is in perfect condition, I decided that I wanted a back-up on hand. what is so super about this unit is the ease of cleaning, so much easier than any other unit I tried. if you do large quantities of salsa this a great time saver
Vegetable's Chef Chopper
May 7, 2016
I love the Vegetable's Chef chopper, especially the ease of operating it. My last chopper was difficult and I usually had to get my husband to push it down and it broke. Having 3 blades to choose from is a plus! Not only do you get this great chopper, you also get an e-book with 50 recipes and a vegetable peeler. Although the recipes are European based, you can request (as I did) the Imperial version which is the American version as far as the measurements go. I'm planning to do one of the recipes soon.
For small needs or small kitchens. This is a great chopper.

My biggest worry about ordering this item was that it would end up being made of cheap flimsy plastic and would break immediately when I use it. I was gratefully surprised that this was not the case. The plastic is thick and sturdy, the blade squares fit snugly into the unit and the top lid is very sturdy with the soft rounded plastic edge to keep your hands from being hurt during use. This is a quick sensible way of chopping ingredients with out having to drag out a food processor and deal with the pain in the rear of cleaning. This unit is dishwasher safe and comes with a cleaning pick to help clean the squares used to press the ingredients down into the blades. The peeler is a great addition and since we recently moved, have of my kitchen gadgets have gotten lost so this was great timing. I really like the fact that your food is chopped and dropped into the container and doesn't drop onto the counter for it to grow legs and leap off of the counter onto the floor. There are three blades for different shapes which covers pretty much any recipe you may have. As long as you chop the veggie into small enough chunks first, you should not have a problem using this. Good product for a great price.
Great tool to add to your kitchen collection

I received the Vegetable's Chef through a promotion in return for an Honest review. The packing was good with no scratches or shuffling around at all. I got it out and washed it up right away. I first used the larger square chopping blade to make small french fries from red potatoes that I needed to use up . I love how easy it was to put the potato on and just push the top down, it did not take a lot of force, and my six year old was able to do it as well. I can never cut uniform thickness so this is perfect for me. I then used it to slice some carrots with the thinner blade attachment to roast with my potatoes, and again it went right through them with no problem at all. Clean up was very simple and it is perfect that it comes with a comb like attachment to clean out the smaller parts. It seems to be very well made and I would recommend this product to anyone especially if like me, you are impatient and hate spending lots of time hand dicing or chopping vegetables for meals.

LOVE!
July 8, 2017
I have had my Chop wizard since June of 2015. I use it weekly to chop vegetables and/or potatoes. It doesn't work for tomatoes :( but everything else goes right through. My unit DOES have the logo on the white piece so I'm not sure if 2 yrs later they have a different manufacturer but I couldn't love mine more. Only issue I have had was misplacing the little cleaning tool, it's been a month and I just can handle cleaning it with toothpicks anymore so I came back to order a new tool.
Serious time saver for me!
Huge timesaver
April 22, 2017
These work great for chopping and save tons of time (and tears). I am on my third one, and just wish they made them out of stainless or a less brittle plastic (could add a strip of clear plastic as a window on the side for measuring). My first broke off the hinge, and the second shattered the bottom when I dropped it on a tile floor. It's inexpensive enough to just buy again because I love how it works.
A Great Kitchen tool.
September 3, 2016
Since I cook a lot and chop a lot, I got this figuring it was just a waste of money but worth a try. After all, these are "Made for TV." Was I wrong. If you chop onions, peppers, or other veggies as I do almost every day, it seems impossible that anything could do the job. This device chops onions very well. Not as fine as one can hand chop, of course, since there are only two blades. But for quite uniform, unbelievably fast chopping (a medium sized Vidalia onion takes about a minute), try this out. I never minded chopping and find it kind of therapeutic at times, but when people are waiting for dinner, this gets the job done. I've had this almost a year and it looks new despite almost daily use. Cleans very fast if you don't lose the cleaning tool!! The one thing that requires a little mastery is that it won't chop uniform sizes unless you pay a little attention to how you set up the onion portion you are chopping. A little experience and it becomes automatic.
Non skid bottom, two sets of sharp blades and easy to use
April 29, 2016
Being a vegan It seemed like all I did was chop veggys which is very time consuming. I had bought a cheap knock off of this product and the base cracked apart after appling heavy pressure to it. This product is nice and sturdy, the blades have chopped everything I've wanted it to from tomatoes to almonds. I have made salsa in it without having to empty it until all ingredients were added. Emptied it right into the serving bowl. A great product for the price.
UPDATE: After using this chopper 5 or 6 times it didn't seem to work as well. Infact, I ended up throwing it out because It got extremely frustrating to use. Food would get stuck up into the blades and it would jam up. I was spending more time fooling around with it instead of chopping food.
I'm back to my chefs knife.
but the smaller blades are useful when you need smaller pieces such as for garlic ...
January 30, 2016
This chopper is convenient and durable. I use it to chop fruits and vegetable that are going to be dehydrated in my Excalibur dehydrator. Having food uniformly sized ensures that the pieces dry evenly. Having different chopping blades also allow me to dice foods into different sizes for different uses. I use the larger blades most frequently, but the smaller blades are useful when you need smaller pieces such as for garlic or ginger root. The chopper saves quite a bit of time when preparing large volumes of fruits or vegetables. The chopper is also easy to disassemble and clean, it even comes with a special brush to clean out the crevices. This is a welcome addition to our kitchen and I would highly recommend this for your kitchen as well if you are searching for a food chopper.

Great chopper
September 15, 2017
I purchased this chopper by a friend's recommendation. I have to admit, it makes a chore like chopping a lot more enjoyable. I use it mostly for when I find sales on things like peppers and onions and want to freeze them up in a baggie, to have them handy. Otherwise, I wouldn't use it for just one veggie. Good product.
Good but not great.
June 15, 2016
A little weird to clean but I like it. It's pretty awesome at making salads. I would not recommend it for herbs. They get stuck in the white top part. It recommends using soft foods for specific blades so as long as you follow those instructions that should be fine.
Works great!
May 31, 2016
Excellent buy, and I am not being paid for my review. I have had this item for over a year now and it works well. Saves me plenty of time chopping and dicing green peppers, onions, tomatoes and more for salads, omlettes and fresh salsa. It dies take some time to clean, especially after chopping tomatoes, but for the price, you can't beat it.
loved it
October 10, 2015
Absolutely love this chopper. I have never used any chopper in my life but after much hearing about these things making life easier I decided on to buy one. Two of my friends have this same chopper so I also went for this. I used it for the time for bell pepper and tomato and it worked magically. But I am not sure how long would it last seeing the way everytime I have to push it down and apply force. Well, lets see, for now its working...

This thing is awesome! I'd give it five stars if I hadn't already broke it. Unfortunately the hinges were a little more fragile than I had estimated. The interchangeable chopping grates are each perfectly sized. It's also easy to clean - especially with the grate cleaner that is included. Simply run it through a few times. The plastic bottom is very easy to wash out, and the plastic itself is good quality (has not become scratched/cloudy). I've put everything imaginable through this thing - it makes dicing and chopping (especially in volume) effortless.

decent way to dice some onions-
August 22, 2017
This works, with a few issues. I find this works best if you slice your onion first into "rounds" and then place the rounds into the machine and press down firmly. This chopper is fairly easy to hand wash and can be used to roughly chop garlic, and other veggies. Don't overload this, it can't handle much at a time. Overall, this does a good job of chopping things and will save you some times.
Better than a Food Processor for Cooking with Onions!
October 27, 2016
It does what it's supposed to do. I use it mostly to chop onions in a few of my special dishes. To make it easier on yourself, cut the onion into 4 parts.(That's why I took off a star) That way, it's easier to press. Not as much body power is needed to press it down. I brought it because cutting up onions is time consuming and teary eyed :) My food processor takes out all the juice out the onion while chopping it up, taking longer to cook with ( you know how you try and get onions to have that golden color).
But great tool for cutting stuffs like onions
August 25, 2016
Blades are not heavy duty. So they might break or bend if too much pressure is applied. But great tool for cutting stuffs like onions, cucumber etc. which requires relatively less pressure. I am not just confident enough if it can cut stuffs like carrot and hence I am giving it one star less. Also cleaning the upper portion is bit of a hassle. So, if you wanna cut a lot of stuffs at once you definitely wanna use it. But if you wanna prepare salad for one or two person, its better to use knife considering the cleaning work involved.
Great if you use it how it's meant to be used.
October 21, 2015
I've gone through three of these. So maybe they aren't the sturdiest. But once ruined one by putting it in the bottom rack of the dishwasher and once my husband broke it when he was trying to slice a fat sweet potato, so for the actual use it's designed to do, I think it's a great product. We use it to make all kinds of diced veggies, especially potatoes. The container is not deep, so you have to make sure your vegetables (like potatoes) aren't super thick. All in all, it cuts the slicing time into just seconds of work....always a plus in our book.
Until something better comes along....
March 19, 2015
I've gone through several of these, and I have good news and bad news to report.

First the good news - these things are great time-savers in the kitchen. I use them to chop all kinds of vegetables - carrots, onions, parsnips, fennel, celery - you name it and this thing chops it. The two blades that are included allow you to make "big bits or little bits" as you prefer. Tasks that would have taken 5-15 minutes can be done in a few seconds. The only thing you have to be careful of is this - avoid overloading it. Don't, for example, try to chop whole onions without cutting them in half first. The reason why will become obvious in the next paragraph.

Now the bad news. This thing is a bit more fragile than it should be. The first one I bought worked fine for a while, and then the blades started coming loose. I finally threw it out for fear that one of them would fall out of the plastic frame and end up in my food. But I liked the way it worked and so I bought another one. After a while the plastic bin (where the chopped food goes) developed a little crack. Every time I used it the crack got a bit bigger. Finally, it broke in much the same way that a cracked windshield in a car will eventually break in two. I wondered if I was doing something wrong? I had been cleaning my chop wizards in the dishwasher, and I wondered if this could be the problem; the hot water in a dishwasher does make plastic brittle. And so I bought a third chopper, and after a while that one broke in the same way.

So - let's cut to the chase. I don't like the fact that these things seem to have a shelf life of only six months or so (assuming that you're using them nearly every day, as I do). When they *do* work they are lifesavers. But they aren't the most durable knives in the shop. The reason I keep buying them is the fact that they only cost about $20; I can justify spending that much to get another half-a-year's worth of chopped vegetables before I need to air out my wallet and spend another double-sawbuck. The bottom line is: I'd be willing to pay more if somebody were to make something like this out of stainless steel instead of plastic. I'd love to have something like this in my knife drawer that I thought would last for several years instead of several months. But until that product comes along, this one will do.

Hard to put too much in the dicer. I can only put a little piece of onion or carrot to get it to work. But it does cut nicely when you do that.

My old chopper was perfectly fine except it didn't have the slicer option. So I gave it to my Mom and ordered this one. The first time I used the slicer it bent and now is no good. I feel very disappointed.

January 19, 2016
I got this as a gift for a family friend as we have a similar one, but the box shows that there should be three separate rather than 2. They gave 2 of the same kind rather than 3 different sizes. Not sure if anyone else had the same issue. According to the picture as well there are 3 different blades.

Helpful product is your expectations are reasonable
August 10, 2017
Great product that makes the process of chopping and dicing much easier and faster. However, this is my sixth purchase of the product. I use it almost daily so it gets lots of use but eventually, the plastic bottom container cracks, then gets a hole in the corner. Contents spill out and it is time to buy another. It is plastic so I guess it is not made to last forever. The chopping plates and lid do last forever so you end up with several of these and no bottom container. It is not an expensive product and I use it so much and find it so helpful that I have been willing to buy it 6 times (over 12 years). Just have reasonable expectations. Works best on softer produce like onions, tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, mangoes, etc. More firm products like sweet potatoes or potatoes will work but cutting with a knife and cutting board will probably help the product last longer.
the cleaning tool is a must, is easy to use and will insure the dishwasher does a good job. Without using the cleaning tool, the dishwasher will not get the food particles from the grid on the lid!
Does what it says (chops and minces): 5 stars; Ease of clean-up: 1 star.
June 17, 2017
Does what it says (chops and minces): 5 stars; Ease of clean-up: 1 star. All this chopper needs to get 5 stars is a way of getting food particles easily out of the lid. (Yes, a little "comb" is included, but why not prevent the food from staying to begin with?)

The photo shows a product that minces garlic, and makes clean-up easy-peasy: the Sujejo Mini-Garlic Press. (See the little metal grate on the lid? SO easy to clean this!) Add that "preventive grate" and my rating would go to 5 stars, without question.

For the positive: I've made (short) potato fries with the chopper-sized cutter; and have minced onions with the small grate. Really loved the ease of use (hard to push, though if the items are too thick) and the evenness of size.

I'd recommend it... IF you don't mind spending lots of time cleaning up the grid in the lid.
- good time saver cons
August 16, 2016
I have been using it for more than a year and here's my feedback:
pros:
- good time saver

cons:
- you have to press really hard for it to slice. I've been using it mostly for dicing onions and I learned the hard way to first cut it into quarters and then press on it. Sometimes I have to put my whole weight on a thing to make it dice it. Workout in itself
- cleaning it is hard. That "cleaner" thingy is very fragile and broke after 6 months of use or so. I now have to use my knife to clean it, which make take about 5 min for just the slicer. That's a reason why I'm going to buy another slicer since I'm tired of spending too much time to clean it
Undone by rutabagas.
March 3, 2015
Really, really have enjoyed using this. The little pop you hear on the final breakthrough is really satisfying - especially when you realize how much time small dicing vegetables takes. Unfortunately, it was not up to the task of small dicing a rutabaga. Even though I had sliced it less than 1/4" thick and I was doing one slice at a time, the blades bent and gave way (several came out of the frame). Found a replacement on EBay, so I will keep using it after that purchase arrives, but that was disappointing. Beware if you have to apply more than the usual amount of force.
It's just okay
February 19, 2015
I have used this several times and have chopped various veggies with the 2 blades, including onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini. The pro is that the blades are sharp and generally work well for dicing most things. Here are my 2 complaints:

1) I have tried at least twice to dice an onion with the smaller of the 2 blades, and for whatever reason, it just doesn't work and the onion gets horribly mangled and stuck. The work around is that I just use the larger blades, but sometimes I would much prefer smaller bits of onion. This is disappointing considered it's called the "Vidalia Chop Wizard," as in vidalia onion

2) Even though it's dishwasher safe, I still have to spend way to much time manually picking out the leftover bits of veggies with the included pick from both the blades and the top cover. This is very annoying to me. Because of it's shape, it also takes up a TON of space on the top rack of the dishwasher.

I probably would not buy this for a friend, though it occasionally saves me time.

Missing Free Book and Breaks Easily
April 2, 2016
Bought a bunch of these as Christmas gifts...there was no free book included with any of them. Also, you still have to chop your veges up before using, or it will break like mine did. If you don't mind chopping first, it makes nice uniform pieces. It would be a fantastic product if it was made out of stainless steel and didn't break.
I'd rather use a knife.
January 24, 2016
I've had this product a week and don't like it. Using a knife is more efficient. By the time I fight the product enough to get the food sliced, I could have been done with a knife. You have to be selective which foods will pass through, and many don't.

September 29, 2015
The product doesn't cleanly cut veggies. Onions, peppers, tomatoes all leave mess behind, which is pretty hard to clean out of the gridwork on top that pushes your veggies through the cutting pieces. Also, the slicer mangles eggs. I still have to use a knife if I want cubes cut with the larger grid - the slicer is way too thin to make proportioned cubes. Boo, I"m not happy!

July 22, 2015
While the idea of this chopper is awesome, making short work of pico de gallo and other salsas, the quality of this particular item is TERRIBLE. I have owned it for a little over two months. I have used it approximately 4-5 times. Already the logo has worn off and one of the pieces is bent, so that it has become cumbersome to use. The little comb they give to help clean it is flimsy and feels like the teeth will break off at any moment. I love this tool, but I would NOT recommend this maker. Buy a chopper but do yourself a favor and DON'T buy this one!

Does not perform as indicated
September 8, 2017
I cannot personally write a review about this product, I ordered it for a 97 year old family member who does not reside in my household and she has indicated to me that it does not work as well as is shown on television, which was very disappointing to me, due to all of the issues encountered during the delivery process, so to be fair to Vendor and Manufacturer I'm refraining from passing any judgements either way.
Only good for a few uses, then becomes dull!
October 7, 2016
This Does well for onions, but thats the extent of it. I used the large cutting blade 3 times before it became so dull that it would not cut anymore. My sweet potato got stuck in it, and I had to throw it away. I sent photos and an email to the manufacturer and they replied with a link for me to buy a replacement. (About half the cost of a whole new unit). Therefore, terrible customer service, terrible longevity of the product, and overall do not recommend.
Seious lid squares design error
October 19, 2015
First day try. Worked well. Don't know how long the plastic hinge will last as it does not look too strong.
My main beef is with cleaning the tiny lid squares despite the cleaning tool provided. My last chop was garlic root using the finer grating. A lot of fibrous residue got impacted in the tiny lid squares which took for ever to clean out. I wonder if such tiny lid squares are really needed. Why not a flat surface or wider spaced squares? To me its a pretty serious design error. Maybe this may not be such a problem with less fibrous veggies like onions. The rest was easy enough to clean but the lid is prohibitive hence only 2 stars. I might even return if onions give me the same problem as ginger root.
Hard to use, tray too small, very difficult to clean
July 15, 2015
This chopping device does not save much time, can only be used for specialized tasks, and is very difficult to clean. Workmanship is fine, but the design is not.

First, the cutting zone is fairly small, only enough to put a slice of small onion or piece of carrot, and the blade is not very sharp meaning that a lot of pressure is needed to press down for cutting most foods, and it can't be used at all for slightly mushier stuff. The issues are compounded by the tray, which is not very large or deep meaning that you'll have to do a lot of emptying to make a family sized salsa or meal.

One other problem with this tool is that the top cover which pushes down through the blade is very difficult to clean, making the tool only worthwhile to use for larger amounts of food. However, the small cutting surface, dull grid blade, and small tray make that more time consuming than it is supposed to be.

Only a few changes in design would have made this 5 stars. I would say that the most significant would be to make the top cover modular so that the projections that push into the blade could be removed and cleaned easily.
I was disappointed, as I'd read reviews of people chopping meat ...
January 18, 2015
After reading the high reviews on here, I had some lofty expectations for this guy. It arrived as I was preparing dinner, so I was excited to try it out on my chicken cutlets. I had them thinly sliced just to be safe for my first time using the Chop Wizard. Now, let it be known that I am a strong guy, and I was sure to plenty of force when slamming this guys down. It was a mess. Not only did the Chop Wizard fail to slice the chicken, but the entirety of my cutlet was stuck between the blades in a pulpy disaster.

I was disappointed, as I'd read reviews of people chopping meat with this thing, but I figured this guy was best left cutting fruits and veggies. So the next morning I tried using it to cut up some red peppers and onions for my eggs. Once again, I made sure to slice the veggies fairly thinly, and push down with sufficient force. While this worked better than with the chicken, I still found that a large chunk of my veggies were getting stuck in the crevices of the blade. It took FOREVER to clean out, even with the plastic cleaning device they package with it.

In the time it took to chop my meat and veggies, plus clean the Chop Wizard, I could've done a more thorough job with just my kitchen scissors and crappy steak knife. I really don't understand how people have been able to use this thing.

would have been a great product if the blades were stronger
August 22, 2017
Returned it! Slicing blade bent on the first use. Didn't realize until later that the bent blade was cutting into the white plastic that pushes the food through the blades and causing little pieces of plastic to break off into my food. Should have thought about it while I was cutting the potatoes but hindsight... would have been a great product if the blades were stronger.
DO NOT BUY
July 21, 2016
-DO NOT BUY- This item has a great idea, but it simply does not work. The 1/4" cutting blade broke on the second use.. on soft-boiled vegetables (carrots, garlic scapes). The cleaning tool broke on its second use. The first use was okay, with fresh vegetables, except it takes so long to fully clean out the unit that it's actually quicker to cut by hand.
Broke first time used! Pass on this one...
April 21, 2016
Don't waste your money. Broke the first time I used it chopping red peppers. Not even a hard vegetable! The metal cutting band pushed right out. Also, didn't like the blade inserts. I've had other brands (which lasted years not one day) and definitely prefer the one piece blade trays instead of this one that has one tray that you place three different blade inserts on. They didn't fit well, which is probably why it broke since the blades were most likely off a bit and weren't lined up correctly. This one is going back. What a disappointment.
Poor quality
September 1, 2015
The first half onion I placed into the press, it cracked the actual bottom container. This made cutting onions more of a hassle and I ended up just chopping them myself with the knife. I gave it another try the next time, even broken, because I just couldn't get myself to accept the fact I had wasted my money and wanted to prove to myself that it actually had some use, unfortunately the fact that it cracked doesn't allow you to firmly press down and grip onto the onion in between in order for it to be chopped. I have just come to the conclusion that this item is poorly made and has no use for it in my kitchen

Total garbage...and not actually this brand when you get it
April 28, 2015
This thing is a piece of junk. I've had it for three months and only used it occasionally, but it broke during normal use today. One of the blade pieces just popped off. I should have returned it when I first got it because the item I actually received does not have the Vidalia Chop Wizard name on it anywhere. (see photos) I thought maybe they just changed the look, but now I suspect otherwise. I think they filled the order with a cheaper, junkier version.

It broke just after 2 time use. Blades completely came out at second time of use.
Horrendous product
January 19, 2015
I've probably ordered a hundred things on Amazon the past few years and this is in my opinion, the worst of the hundred.
You could probably throw a potato against your wall and it will cut it better than this thing will.

Okay, I am exaggerating a little but the Vidalia Chop Wizard is useless in my opinion. It requires so much force to push your vegetables (potatoes, onions, etc.) through the chopping blade you might as well get a neck/back massager while you order it.

Horrendous product, I will without a doubt be returning it.
Don't Buy -- It's Not the Real Vidalia Chop Wizard
December 25, 2013
I don't know how Amazon lets the seller sell this item as the Vidalia Chop Wizard when it really arrives as another product called the Kitchen Pro Dicer. It is not made as well as the Vidalia Chop Wizard. Unfortunately I bought this as a Christmas present for someone (who had seen the real Vidalia Chop Wizard) and I was appalled and embarrassed that it was not the real Vidalia Chop Wizard but a cheaply made product instead. This seller should be put out of business for being so deceptive. Don't buy it!
Beware of a seller called Moon Walk - CRAP
December 19, 2013
I ordered the Vidalia Chop Wizard. The seller was called Moon Walk. They did not send me the authentic Vidalia Chop Wizard. I received "Kitchen Pro Dicer." The label has a knock-off of the "As Seen on TV" logo, but if you look closely it says "Same as TV." And it is not the same as TV as it describes. Poor quality craftsmanship. Flimsy plastic. The Vidalia Chop Wizard is sturdy and I managed to break that. I can only imagine how fast I would break this. Shame on Moon Walk for sending the wrong item. More shame on them for sending such a crappy product. The authentic Vidalia Chop Wizard is 5 stars though.
