Saves $$$no need to uprade my home system
March 26, 2017
I compared a lot of products before I bought this. Main reasons I bought this was
1...price is great
2...Logitech Name
3...Easy connecting
I spent a lot of money on my Home Surround Sound System aprox $3000...It only a few years old. But it's not bluetoothed. This little Logitech box solved that in about 4 minutes. It allows for streaming my music thru my home System, And it sounds great!!! This is a great inexpensive way to solve the Bluetooth issue..
Be careful when buying this. It uses RCA and therefore, doesn't carry 5.1 surround
January 26, 2017
It uses RCA and therefore doesn't carry 5.1 surround, naturally. I bought this by mistake on a whim, because Amazon was offering it as a bundle deal with the speaker system I was ordering, (Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround). Once I opened them and realized they were RCA, I was like craap! Aw well, what the heck, let's see if they're any good. I'm giviing this 5 starts because the product is not terrible in design. I decided to try it out, and there really wasn't any latency; it had no trouble switching between devices. It simply does what is intended of it. I returned it of course, and I know this isn't the fault of Logitech; they make plenty of 2.0/2.1 speaker systems, but maaaan, why would you bundle these two items together?! Terrible idea Amazon!!!
Prefect Adapter for Streaming Music from our Tablet or Phone to our analog A/V equipment
January 3, 2017
Works perfect in our 5th wheel allowing me to wirelessly connect and stream music from my phone or tablet to the analog receiver in our RV. I can control the music from my easy chair inside or outside of our unit. My tablet or phone connects perfectly each time I enable blue tooth on the host device. The initial set-up was a breeze. The reception provides just enough distance to control the music outside the unit, which is about 20-feet through the aluminum walls of the RV trailer.
Works awesome in the car
February 14, 2016
So I have been looking to install bluetooth in my car for a while now, but all the products on amazon seemed they had an internal battery yet still had to plug into the car supply...why? This product is awesome because once you sinc it once you never have to do it again and the unit powers up automatically from the car supply when you turn on the car and you can hear a sound when it connects. This is perfect because when I turn on the car I automatically connect and I'm ready to listen to my music. Of course most users will likely use it in the home, but I think its especially a nice product for my car. The only is issue is its powered from a 5V supply so you would need to convert the car 12V into 5V. This is easy because you just need to buy a USB to DC cable on amazon and plug it into the USB plug for your phone. That's it...now my car is playing all my tunes the minute I get in. Perfect! Thank you!
Use your old amp and Speakers and listen to MP3's
September 12, 2015
This unit has RCA holes...that means instead of hooking up a cd player or tape deck...you hook this up to the back of your receiver...then pair it to your phone's music player and Jam!...I had a thousand dollars worth of old gear in the garage and it wasn't being used...this works great...hope this helps some old school folks that don't know you can do this...sounds so much better than most of the crappy little wireless speakers the kids are buying..

I Like It, But ...
October 10, 2017
The unit works well, connects easily to 2 devices, and is fairly small and unobtrusive. The main problem I have with it is no power button. If you walk in the room where the Logitech is (or get within range) with a paired phone it automatically connects to the unit. If your stereo is not on at the time, you won't hear any of your phone's alert sounds - cause they are going through the Bluetooth connection. There are several workarounds to be sure, but it's a design problem that shouldn't exist.
I am not pleased for hearing music in my high end soud system
September 24, 2017
I am going to give a detailed judgment of this little box, as an audiophile, speaker builder, electronic repair here is theStars as follows:1- 3 stars for it's sound averall, this due to a colored and weak bass, I am not pleased for hearing music in my high end soud system, I will be forced to buy expensier bluetooth alternative that at least match the sound I get putting a mp3 on a usb then inserted on my Smart tv Samsung and then feeding to an Audio Alchemy external DAC by fiber optic cable and then to a Audio Refinement complete integrated amp.2- 4 stars using it to put music on a excellent discontinued stupidly by Logitech the best computer speaker ever made the model Z-2300 thx set that never be discontiued, newer models are garbage, to put some music on a party ot reunion.3- 5 stars for it's cheap price4- 3 stars for it's low output, it sounds like half of volume of a cd player, this they should fix this because it's easy for them
Great unit for the money!
August 18, 2017
We purchased this unit to use with a small amp & a set of outdoor speakers at our vacation rental property. The amp and bluetooth receiver sit inside the sunroom doors with the wires run up through the ceiling outside to the covered area that the speakers are mounted. This unit is great for casual use, it pairs well, doesn't have any issues transmitting clear audio, and has worked wonderfully for almost a full year of rental guests. The aesthetics of this unit are more appealing to me than some of the other options: it's perfectly square, small, the button on the top is easy to find, and it has a light blue glowing LED under the unit to let you know it's on.The only complaint I have is the range isn't very large. This may not be an issue if you'll be in the same room as the receiver when using it but if you plan to be more than 6 feet away or a different room I would look into a more powerful unit. Overall though, I highly recommend this for a budget bluetooth receiver!
Good device but need to mind your connections
July 25, 2017
This unit works great - maybe too great. If that seems odd, the only problem I have with it is it somehow prioritizes itself over all connections on all devices. Once you pair with the BT adapter your device will always connect and play through it first, no matter what you actually want. Basically all your devices will be silent unless/until you turn on your stereo or disconnect from the BT adapter - which it will immediately repair the connection.Again and again and again and again - until you make your device 'forget this device'. Then you have to pair it again to listen through your stereo. As far as sound quality goes, to my ears it sounds great. We stream music for hours and I've yet to hear a distorted note.
Solid product with a few very minor issues
July 23, 2017
Works well, includes both left/right RCA and 3.5mm audio jack outputs (both female), and comes with a RCA/3.5mm male to male cable. Stays on when not in use, so my phone automatically connects to it when I get home (with a little tone to let me know). There are a few minor issues though:- It keeps a few seconds of buffer, which means there is a few seconds of delay when changing songs or volume.- It has broken up a couple of times even when pretty close (within 20 feet), but has recovered pretty quickly.- It seems that certain types of audio have very noticeable distortion when played though this, particularly some podcasts (but not all). I'm wondering if it's a weird combination of how they are mixed and perhaps some sort of compression the device performs (although I suppose it could also be my phone's bluetooth). All of these issues are pretty minor though. Overall, a solid product.
It works, so long as you're within Line of Sight.
June 27, 2017
It works but, the problem this has is that, if you're not within line of sight, audio starts dropping out. No disconnect sound but, music starts sounding like someone has a light switch on the audio device. I take 10 steps into my kitchen with my phone on me and go around the corner and the audio starts coming on and off. On the plus side, there's no lag. You could use this to watch a movie on your laptop or a youtube video on your phone and not feel like you're watching a japanese movie with english dubbing.

Convenient and easy to pair
June 24, 2017
Convenient and easy to pair, but range is definitely wanting. I live in a 2000 sq ft. home, and I get connection interruptions from even 30 feet away with no obstructions. Kind of defeats the purpose of a "wireless connection" when my paired device (usually my phone) has to be near this receiver. Wanted to listen to my stereo hooked up to my phone, even if my phone is with me while I'm on the can. This product regrettably did not let me realize this dream. Otherwise, in the strictest sense, it does function.
Work fine but doesn't really support my configuration as I wanted
January 6, 2017
The unit works fine and as advertised. I purchased the Logitech brand because I've been quite satisfied with my universal remote from them that I purchased many years ago. I am using this adapter to connect my Amazon Echo (Alexa) to my rather elaborate A/V system that I have installed throughout my house. When connected, it works fine. I had to use RCA to RCA cable connectors rather than the cable provided in the box, but once I connected it that way (using the "Tape" port as input into my receiver) it worked fine and the sound is quite good. I had to set Alexa's sound level to the highest setting in order to get decent sound from my receiver.

The problem (which was detailed in other reviews, but I didn't catch it) is that, with this connection, when you are done using it with the receiver, Alexa will keep reconnecting with it, even if you tell "her" to disconnect . . . "she" just reconnects to the unit in a few seconds. Since there is no "off" button on the Adapter, the only way to get Alexa to communicate again using "her" speaker is to unplug the adapter. No, even though I have a totally software based way of setting up my units and configuration using my universal remote, I have to manually plug and unplug the adapter to enable or disable the connection. Not what i had hoped for. If there was a way to set it up without having to unplug it all the time, I probably would have given it a 5 star rating.
Provided Audio / Jack Quality: Very Poor
December 5, 2015
This unit paired very easily with all of my devices. I was however very disappointed with the sound quality that began to play back with the cables provided for installation. The tinny, spotty quality is almost as bad as nails on a chalkboard.

After trying to reseat the jack connections on the unit (to no avail) - I used my own aux cable (a Belkin cable made for iDevices). After seating the connection properly - I finally got a full range of sound. It took a few tries. I kept getting only the left or lower ranges of sound.

With it properly jacked in - it sounds just as good as if I had plugged my device in direct. Good wide range of sound and bass.

I'm using this unit in conjunction with my A/V receiver. Be prepared to have a decent replacement aux cable on hand.
Good, but sound quality is only OK, and pairing with a laptop presented problems.
September 21, 2015
First, this is a solid device if you plan on playing music from a smartphone through a better stereo than the junk that comes with Bluetooth built in. It WILL NOT however replace a good 'ol analog 3.5mm cable in terms of sound quality. My ears tell me it sounds slightly better than an HD radio receiver. I have given this a three star rating for a few reasons.

1: I had to fiddle with multiple Bluetooth chip drivers on my Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 to eliminate choppy playback, but everything seems fine now. My school laptop is old, and most of you out there shouldn't have this problem, but BT is a standard protocol, so I don't know why my adapter had a problem with just this device. There is another review that addresses this. An HP driver solved my problem.

2: After fixing the driver problem, the sound quality is decent, but not stellar. Highs sound tinny and broken up through my tweeters and horns on several different stereos. The lows are pretty full and clean, though. This being a BT device, I expected fidelity to suffer a bit, and can live with it. Part of the problem may be my laptop. My MUCH newer Android device sounds better and pairs flawlessly.

3: Sometimes during video playback, the video and audio come out of sync. I use this device to send audio from the laptop on my desk to my bookshelf stereo on the other side of my bedroom so I don't need another set of PC speakers, and so I can easily play music while I code and whatnot. Not the best device for running with video, I know, but I'm poor and this fit the bill. When I watch YouTube and stuff, this gets annoying sometimes.

4. For whatever reason, this device is very susceptible to noise put off by other devices and appliances. I use other BT devices and they don't have this problem. My room is above the house's wireless router, and my housemates have a lot of connected devices at all hours of the day. When all my housemates are in and using wireless devices or the microwave, performance suffers. I sometimes have to re-establish my connection.
Auto connect conflicts with other bluetooth devices
July 28, 2015
I have several bluetooth devices in the house and this device insists on grabbing the connection. I have the Logitech in the rec-room, I'm in my office room with a different BT device. I connect to the office BT device and all is OK until the iPhone thinking the Logitech has been idle too long, disconnects it. The Logitech immediately reconnects grabbing the signal. Result ... I'm in the office, the music is playing in the rec-room. Without an off switch I can not control this behavior, otherwise this would be five stars. What I do is force the iPhone to 'forget' the Logitech and when I need it I pair with it again. A pain, but I can think of nothing else. Other bluetooth devices allow me to turn them off. The Logitech sound quality is good and so is the range (which in a way exasperates the problem). If this is your only device then the automatic seizing of the connection would be a plus.

It works and was easy to pair but you can't disconnect it from the ...
August 26, 2017
I bought this item so I could stream audio from my Echo to my sound system. It works and was easy to pair but you can't disconnect it from the Echo. When you disconnect it, it automatically reconnects in a few seconds, so the only way to turn it off is to either have echo "forget" the device which removes it or unplug the power cable from the bluetooth adapter. It is very annoying and disappointing since it does not really work with the echo as expected. The only solution to the issue is live with it, Bummer!
Relatively weak reception; only useable indoors at close range
January 28, 2017
What a waste. I purchased this to enable Bluetooth on my good but 6 year old stereo receiver so we could stream music from our phones while being out on our patio. Physically, the receiver is literally within 15-20 feet from where we sit on the patio with a wall of windows and a little brick between. The connection seems OK while indoors and in clear sight of the receiver, but as soon as I walk outside the quality significantly degrades and static invades the audio. If I put my phone up next to the window it improves some, but not completely and I can't stand by the window the whole time. As-is, this Bluetooth receiver seems too weak and not useable for our purposes. If you'll just be using it indoors and at close range in the same room, then may be OK for you.
Not for Echo Dot!
December 26, 2016
As many other reviews have stated, I purchased this device to run my Amazon Echo Dot through my home theatre receiver and speakers. However, once a device is connected to this adapter, if you disconnect the Bluetooth connection, it will automatically reconnect. Unless you power the adapter through the receiver itself, you will not be able to use the Echo Dot without having your receiver on first (since the Dot internal speaker won't work while Bluetooth is connected). This is a pain, but according to Logitech, it is a "function" of this device.
Echo Dot aside, this device works well, as it connects to devices very easily and quickly. However, the audio that comes through the adapter is very low, but sounds fine when the speakers are turned up.
Plug-and-play. Works well... until it doesn't
November 30, 2015
Plug-and-play. Works well, simple, no problems. It seems to have a slightly shorter range than other BT products I have running concurrently, but it could just be the specifics of the location.

Update 3/24/2017: This BT adapter just gave up the ghost one day. I came home, opened my phone to connect and stream some music and... nothing. I tried for hours to try and get it to connect; I begged, I pleaded, I tried to bribe it, and... nothing. It powered up and illuminated, and it flashed like it was connecting, but nothing. I ended up just throwing it out.
Doesn't work with Linux Mint 17
November 13, 2014
I wanted to use it for sending audio from my Linux (Mint 17) computer to a Lepai LP-2020A amplifier (a warmly recommended great little piece of equipment) that feeds a pair of floor standing boxes in my living room.

It worked as expected for exactly 1 day.
When it was working there were occasional sound interruptions (even though the distance was only ~5m), and quality was just ok (comparable to AM radio).
I knew that'll happen, so I was ok with (lack of) sound quality.

However, next day I disconnected it and tried to connect again. I couldn't. Over >10h I've got every possible type on hard-to-debug error messages from Linux, and searched on the web info on fixing this. Eventually I gave up and told myself never to touch Bluetooth consumer electronics again.

I'm knowledgeable enough with Bluetooth to build a Bluetooth-enabled microcontroller board using a 5$ Bluetooth adapter board from Ebay - I could successfully communicate with the controller board from the same Linux computer that failed to re-connect to the Logitech adapter.
So I have some pretty good idea about what I'm doing.

This adapter CAN work as expected, but not with my computer - therefore the 2 stars.
All I can say is that this Logitech Bluetooth adapter does not work with Linux Mint 17.
Your experience might be different, as it wildly depends on the host computer.

No more Bluetooth devices for me
July 20, 2017
I'm thru with these BT devices. This is the 2nd one I've tried this week and both cut in & out constantly. I have a line-of-sight view of my stereo from my computer which is 25' away. I even tried plugging it into my laptop with it sitting right next to my preamp and it still cut in & out. To make matters worse the manufacturer shorted me the RCA cable. I cannot recommend this device.
Doesn't always works. Has an annoying connect/disconnect chime.
July 13, 2017
This paired whenever it wanted and to some devices (iPad, iPhone) but not to others (computer).
It also makes a really annoying chime when it connects and disconnects.
It not pairing to my computer was reason enough to return it.
Useless junk.
June 3, 2017
No range whatsoever, 10 feet unobstructed; forget it. Alexa cannot get to it, my notebook cant get to it, might as well have a cord. Useless. My HK Esquire speakers connect to my devices 30+ feet away, through walls with great sound quality, these thing fades, goes in&out of stereo. Sending it back, which is likely why I got a warehouse deal in the first place.
Worked relatively reliably for about 18 months and then quit working
May 13, 2017
I ordered this in January 2016. It worked (mostly) but occasionally didn't. Now it's May 2017 and it doesn't work at all. This is the second bluetooth dongle I've ordered (first of this brand) and it seems like the life span of these things is about a year give or take.
then automatically reconnects and every time it does that it will make three loud annoying beeps. I would leave the speakers on
March 5, 2017
This device would literally wake me up at 2am every other night. This device drops the connection randomly, then automatically reconnects and every time it does that it will make three loud annoying beeps. I would leave the speakers on throughout the day because it was on a far too reach area. I thought I was waking up in the middle of night because of nightmares but then I realized this little adapter was actually the nightmare causing the beeping screams.

There many other bluetooth audio adapters available on amazon and I would recommend not going with this one unless you don't care about random connection drops with annoying beeping. I was using my iphone and macbook to pair the adapter with so hopefully Logitech fixes this problem.
