Recommended, convenient and easy to use
July 20, 2015
Pros: Portable, low price, syncs quickly, and immediately provides bluetooth capability to a car.Cons: Feedback pop when it turns on and when it initially syncs with your phone or other device.Additional detail: This model does not come with a charger which you will need, but there is a mini-USB to USB connector cord included. You will use the regular USB end to connect to a charger.Summary: A friend suggested a portable bluetooth adapter after I complained of fumbling about with cables to hook up my phone in my car. I tried the G-Cord based on its lower price and have been very satisfied with it. Easy to use and sync in the car giving me bluetooth capability and relatively hands free operation in an 8 year old borderline beater car. The primary drawback is the loud feedback pop through the speakers when it turns on or when it syncs with a device, so you may want to have the volume lowered for that, but beyond this it works quite well. I did try it on a portable speaker in the house and it did not work with that (a Logitech model) but that was not too concerning as long as it performed in the car. The battery cycle on the G-Cord is good, goes about a week with two commutes per day of 45-65 minutes. However, I didn't consider the need to charge the device and this one does not come with a car charger (though it has a cord to attach to one). So I suggest you plan on having a charger that accepts a USB cable.
Buy it

This thing is great. It's small and will conveniently fit just about anywhere. I use it in my car for the most part which has Bluetooth only for phone calls. When listening to music, the phone rings and music is muted for the call. Music resumes once the call ends. Pairing was unbelievably simple and instantaneous. I would recommend this to anyone looking to utilize Bluetooth in an aux port.
No more annoying aux cord!!! Lol

Got mine today and love it!!
Good for the money and more
June 10, 2015
I really was not expecting it to be as good as it really is. It is really easy to connect to. I tried it with two different iphones and my computers (both mac and pc) and was able to pair every single time. I tried it with my bose wired headphones, and found the clarity just as good as wired. The only con is that when there is no sound, it has low background static. Overall very happy.
change in audio pitch while listening from phone with device
June 6, 2015
Just some minor problem. The pitch of the audio changes when phone is connected to this device. Anyone else having this issue? Wonder if it's because of not being charged fully. It's blinking blue right now.
Outstanding Product, Highly Recommended!
June 5, 2015
I highly recommend this product. It was purchased because the aux cable in my car was starting to wear out and this seemed like a more practical replacement than another cable. The price is great and it had almost 100% 5-star reviews so I went with this model over other similar receivers. At this point, I have no complaints. The stated battery life is sufficient to get you through all but the longest road trips (six hours) though I've never pushed mine over 3.5 hours. If you had a power source to connect the included USB cable, it could run indefinitely. Pairing was easy and it connects to my phone instantly every time. Audio quality and connection reliability are outstanding, it never skips or disconnects even though the aux input in my car is down in the bottom of the center console. So far, I've only used it in my car but I can think of a number of other uses for it. You could connect it to any other pair of headphones to instantly make them into a bluetooth headset and you could also connect it to any set of speakers or home audio system to create a bluetooth connection. If you're currently using an aux cable for audio in your car, you need this even if your cable isn't wearing out as mine was.

Works really well to add bluetooth to an older stereo.
September 17, 2017
I bought two of these for our house. One is for my wife's craft room and one for my shop. Both work very well. We have not had any connectivity issues. I have an iPhone 7 and she has the 7 plus.I do have to turn the volume up a little more than before when I was just using a headphone jack, but it is not an issue, just something odd. I'm using the headphone jack plugged into computer speakers. Her's uses the RCA cables plugged into a receiver. Both ways require the volume to turn up a bit. But the sound is good and neither of us has had connectivity issues. My phone sits about 10 feet away from this receiver in the shop. Wife's phone is about 5 feet away. This is quick, easy way to add bluetooth to any system.
Great for your car and home stereo. Works seamlessly in my BMW center console. Love it.
August 26, 2017
I initially bought one for my '08 BMW 335i which only had Bluetooth for just the telephone. So I bought this and it neatly installed in the center console where a power plug and Aux-in are conveniently available. It works great. Sounds good, nice highs and lows. Connects immediately without having to manually connect. (I use a Samsung Android phone. Apple should work fine too). If you're also putting it in a BMW, I'd recommend using the power plug that's in your console for power instead of the USB port. The USB port seems to be constantly powered, and this Bluetooth receiver will be a small continuous load on your battery if you park for a long time. The power plug is switched with the ignition. This Bluetooth receiver comes with a 120V to USB plug, so you can use it at home too. I bought a second one to add Bluetooth capability to my home stereo. I like it there too. Decent distance reception from my device as I walk around the living room and kitchen. For the price, I recommend this item for its reliable instant connection, versatility, and sound quality.
Solid little device for a good price
July 31, 2017
I'm happy with this. It does its job unobtrusively for a good price. I have several of these in different rooms of my house. They all seem to work fine. Every once an a while, one of them will get "stuck" and I need to unplug it to reset things, but that's happened only rarely. I especially like that it doesn't automatically connect to any paired device within range. Instead, if someone with a phone wants to use it, they can connect explicitly. That's much less annoying than some other devices I own, which will automatically connect to a preferred device. The HomeSpot is much easier to use in a house with multiple people and multiple devices.
Plays well with Alexa
July 5, 2017
I use this with an Echo Dot. "Alexa connect to Bluetooth" the "alexa play pandora". Then I get music through the entire house. When i am done "Axela disconnect bluetooth" and the dot is back to normal. This has been very useful, as I didn't want alexa whole-house all the time, so this solved an issue for me.
Awesome and convenient
March 13, 2017
I think the product is awesome. I have a circa early 70's vintage receiver that I have connected to my vintage turntable and wanted to enable my digital tunes from my iPhone via Bluetooth. Connected the rca end to the receiver aux plugged the power into the back of the receiver and into the Bluetooth device. My iPhone found it immediately and I was up and running in seconds.I have had no problems connecting to Bluetooth etc. I noticed sometimes it seems to skip or gets interrupted slightly when I get a txt or I'm typing on my phone. You do need to have your phone in the line of sight to the Bluetooth device though or it cuts out a bit. . Otherwise good stuff No longer have to get off the sofa to change songs or volume. Nice.
Perfect replacement for my AUX
January 15, 2017
Just great! I wanted a replacement for my AUX cable connected to my home stereo receiver. I play music from my iPhone 6s daily and wanted a wireless option.- Sounds great! Same quality as my AUX cable.- Easy setup: Aux cable (headphone plug, my own cable) plugs into the back of the unit along with the power cable provided. Paired in seconds just like a Bluetooth speaker or headphone.- Priced great and arrived to my doorstep in 2 days via PRIME

Great little Bluetooth adapter.
April 20, 2016
This thing works good enough. I do sometimes get a slight static sound but i guess that's normal, especially when you listen at a higher volume. The mic on this thing is awesome. I use it in my car as a Bluetooth stereo and had no problems hearing and being heard. I recommend this item.
Works as advertised, a few minor details worth noting
March 22, 2016
This product works just as described. There are a few minor notes that are worth making. The product does connect easily but it does require you to connect manually every time ( I use an iphone 6 in my car) you enter the car i.e. you have to turn the device on and then go into your settings to pair the device. Not a huge deal but it does take some time. The device works well with music and phone calls. However, when connected to the device during a call, you need to have the device out in the open or close to your mouth in order for the device to pick up what you are saying so it can be broadcast across the phone line. Your speech is picked up by a speaker port on the bluetooth device itself rather than your phone. There is no noticeable lag or lax in clarity. Overall, great device minus these few minor things.
Good product for the price
March 22, 2016
This is a cool little Bluetooth receiver that I connected to my car in order to hear music without having my aux cord plugged in. It was a bummer when I recieved it and found out that the silver aux cord connected to the device was not included. I don't know if it was just my.order but mines didn't have it included. Was a bummer but not much a big deal aside from initially having trouble connecting to my phone after I got it set up it works perfect. Every time I get in my car I turn it and it wokrs amazing. Doesn't drop signal and I am very pleased with it.
the other is perfect. Maybe I got a fussy one
February 12, 2016
Bought 2 of these. One is a royal pain to sync, the other is perfect. Maybe I got a fussy one? The battery lasts maybe 8 hours. One thing we discovered, you need to have a 2amp wall charger. Its just the cord with the unit. If you have the cheap import adapters, these won't charge right. You need the quality adapters that come with cell phones.
Works very well w/caveat
September 24, 2015
When my phone headphone jack had a volume problem, I ordered this to use the phone's bluetooth function to play my GOOG Playmusic app to an accessory amp. Works very well w/1 annoying feature: The bluetooth connection goes off in a preset timing which wouldn't be terrible, but since the transmission goes thru an amp, the female-recorded message announcing the disconnect and then immediately announcing the reconnect is very loud and irritating, requiring turning the unit off when there's a pause of several minutes duration in sending music to the amp.

Good output volume
September 15, 2017
I have a car with an AUX input but not Bluetooth for music. Using this to connect phone to AUX input on car with Bluetooth. Connectivity is pretty good, I can walk out of the car for 10-20 feet and music still plays. The volume level is also good so I don't need to crank my stereo up, and sound is clean (no hiss).Have owned unit for a year and a half and just started using it, hope durability will be good. Unit will be power cycled a lot as it is powered off a USB charger from a car 12V plug. Plus unit will be heat cycled extensively (100+ F in summer and freezing temps in winter).
Works as Advertised (most of time)
August 11, 2017
Overall, very satisfied. Needed ability to play music outdoors with my in-door non-Bluetooth stereo via IPhone (I have outdoor speakers). I used to just use aux in cord and leave phone inside but then you can't adjust volume or music selection easily. I did buy a longer RCA cable than supplied so that I could set the unit in window for better line of site transmittal. I experimented and connection was not an issue up to 75 feet or more from the receiver. However, even at 30 - 50 feet, music does cut out occasionally for a second or two - some days this doesn't happen at all, other days it does off and on. However, it reconnects again right away without any action on my part. If not for cutting out, I would give 5 star. For the price, I think it is a great deal. I did try it just through walls (vs line of site setting it in window) and it still works outside but distance is diminished to about 1/2 the specs.
Worth the price
July 30, 2017
I have had this product for about two weeks and I am satisfied with my purchase. It provides a pretty solid Bluetooth connection. Using this device doesn't hurt or improve the quality of the music. It is beyond easy to set up, within 2 minutes of having the box open I had this baby set up with my stereo. They worked almost seamlessly together. The receiver was actually smaller that I anticipated, which in this case was just another plus.Outside of all of that is where this product lost a star. There were 2 cons. First, having to keep the unit plugged in to a power source all the time, while this is a small nuisance its still a nuisance. In addition, I utilize this product the most in my car and for some reason it occasionally produces a very low pitched sound in the background of my music. Most the time its not noticeable when it does happen and for the price this is still a great product.
Good quality sound for a decent price
July 1, 2017
I picked this up to use with an older Bose Wave radio we have in our bedroom.the sound quality is great, there is no delay with playback, we like it. My one complaint is that while you can set it up with multiple phones/devices, you cannot have bother paired at the same time. If I want to switch from my phone to my wife's, we need to disconnect mine and then connect with hers. Other Bluetooth devices, mostly hands free car units and headphones have allowed for this and I wish this did as well. Obviously you couldn't have both playing back at the same time but it would be an improvement.
If you are in good range, the sound quality is very good
February 3, 2017
I find the effective range to be about 10-15 feet at the most, used with a variety of devices, with no obstructions (-1 star). If you are in good range, the sound quality is very good.Otherwise it's fantastic; it's the only thing we use with the living room stereo any more. I have no problems connecting to it; you can use NFC to connect trivially the first time (with a quick prompt on my Android devices to say "yes please pair it") and any other time.Edit: now adding a third one for my shop stereo. Beats the heck out of wired.
Got It To Stream Amazon Prime Music From My Phone To My Stereo
May 25, 2015
I got this device so that I could stream Amazon Prime Music from my Android phone to my Home Theater Audio Amplifier (https://youtu.be/okXPAUgoKLc).I have a chromecast but there is currently no support from Amazon to stream Amazon Prime music to it.The HomeSpot allows you to essentially turn any audio amplifier into Bluetooth enabled device. My15 year old Yamaha amplifier works perfectly, but being as old as it is, it doesn't have integrated Bluetooth. I connected this device to an open RCA input, paired it to my Android phone, and was able to stream music at will. The HomeSpot has a nice small form factor, comes with several cable connection options and includes a USB power adapter. It's not perfect but it's good for the price and solved my problem. If you want to see how I use it to stream Amazon Prime Music watch this video: https://youtu.be/okXPAUgoKLc

I've used this with good results, but i use it very infrequently
January 24, 2016
I've used this with good results, but i use it very infrequently, and can no longer get it to pair to my iphone 5s or the ipod. It's been paired with them before, but i'm struggling to get it working again. It tells you when its "pairing" thru the radio speakers,...but that's all that will happen. Is there a step im missing. I've paired my phone with a dozen other devices with no issues. ? ? ?
Functional but noisy
December 1, 2015
It's fair. On the one hand, it works as a Bluetooth receiver, is small and lightweight, and easy to use. On the other, it's fairly noisy. It's not too bad when music is playing since that will mask the noise, but when you're listening to podcasts, on the phone, and especially when paired without audio, there is an audible low-level hiss with electronic interference (high-pitched buzzes and tics).
Great product, not highly satisfied.
October 22, 2015
It functions perfectly. Plays music and streams without any signal loss. Charge time is fast and for me the battery life is great. I drive to work and back home in 20 minutes each stri, 6 days a week. My only complain with this receiver is that when I turn it on it takes at least 1 minute to pair or sometimes doesn't pair and I have to go on Bluetooth settings on my iPhone 6 to pair. Other complaint, maybe it's just me but I really do not like the voice when it turns on/off or when I have an incoming call. I don't know I find it useless and annoying. With this being said its a great Bluetooth receiver for the price.

September 14, 2015
Pros:
1. Music over bluetooth works as expected/advertised.
2. Dedicated buttons for next/previous track. It's great to not have to look at or unlock my phone to skip a track.

Cons:
1. Phone call volume reduced to the point that it's impossible to use for phone calls. Alternatively, you crank your car volume for the call and then the music is blasting when you end the phone call.

Summary, as long as you never take phone calls while driving this thing is great.

Works great... 50% of the time
July 31, 2017
I bought this because there was another review here saying that this is about the only bluetooth receiver that will automatically power on and connect to the smartphone as soon as the car is powered on. Well, it works... 50% of the time for me. The other 50% I need to manually connect it from my phone. I don't think it's my phone problem, because in our other family car my phone connects 100% of the time to the factory installed Toyota bluetooth touchscreen system (as anyone buying a Toyota probably expects the bluetooth connection to work without a hassle 100% of the time). As far as this device goes, it's OK I guess, but I would rather not have to mess with my phone while I'm driving. To be completely fair in this review, I must say that once it is connected, the sound quality is very good.
Ok product, lasted almost a year and then fried.
July 7, 2017
Product was ok even though it fried about 10 months later. My issue was that it wouldn't automatically connect to my iPhone and i would have to go to iPhone bluetooth settings to connect it.Bought an Mpow Bluetooth Receiver, (Latest Bluetooth 4.1, A2DP) Wireless Bluetooth Audio Receiver Adapter with 3.5mm & RCA Cable for Home and Car Sound Systems ) as replacement and this one had a built in battery which was good. but i had to open my center console and push multifunction button to turn it on each time. This one would automatically connect to my iPhone though.Downside, it Fried just over a month later...i wish i had payed more attention and ordered my 5 series with bluetooth audio as well as BT telephone

Poor range, unreliable connectivity
May 14, 2016
Updated review 23 Sept. '16I followed the advice of the manufacturer (in the comment below), and it did improve the reception a bit: connection is more reliable and I don't have as many skips/drops etc as before. Still, I am annoyed that the device has to be so close and must be line of sight, so I'm upping my rating to 3 stars.******(earlier review) Range is very poor - device must be within 10 feet or so. Direct line of sight is a must or the signal will just fail. Even then, the connection can be utterly awful, leading too annoying skips, stops, gaps in playback. Seems worse with a Mac laptop (vs iphone), even when placed within 3 feet of the receiverI am comparing performance to my UE BOOM portable speaker, which can be much further away, behind walls, etc. yet maintain a clear connection compared to this thing.Giving this two stars because when it does connect, the sound is good. Still, save yourself the aggravation and get a better quality receiver -- I wish I had.
Wireless audio quality sounds squished
November 14, 2015
It works, but like most bluetooth devices, I found it degraded the sound quality so significantly that it became a constant distraction from listening to music. The few seconds it is supposed to save by not having to plug your phone in every time you get in the car is negated by the constant low quality audio. Adding Aptx would likely go a long way as i.e. I've used 2 nearly identical headphones, with this being the only differing feature. The non Aptx pair got returned due to poor wireless audio quality (while sounding great wired). The Aptx headphones sounded great even wireless with the same audio track playing. The NFC is a useful feature for when it fails to connect automatically when turning the car on, however autoconnect when getting in the car nearly always eliminates the need to wave your phone over the NFC area for connection in the first place. It's a compact unit, smaller than expected and smaller than much of the competition. It is in a plastic body that feels reasonable durable, but because of the plastic body, light weight and hollow feel to it, it still ends up feeling pretty cheap. Most Aptx enabled models I found required AC power, making it difficult to use in a car. This uses USB charging and feels at home in your car.I ultimately ended up not keeping mine after a few weeks due to low quality audio and lack of support for more advanced wireless compression. That said, if your music collection is largely 128kbps mp3s and the like, then go ahead and buy this. Your used to compressed shrunken sound and will likely not notice the difference.

Would not connect to phone automatically
August 4, 2017
I had a problem with it connecting to the phone. I would turn it on and it would not automatically connect to the device. I would have to hold the button for a few seconds and then it would connect. It took effort every time I got in the car which made it not worth it. It was easier to use the regular aux cable.
Doesnt Disconnect automatically. drains all the battery.
May 22, 2016
the bluetooth module doesnt disconnect automatically, and even when i turn my phones bluetooth off, the module doesnt turn off. it keeps blinking, draining all the battery over night. and in some cases, even when i forcfully turned it off, it turned on again and started searching.
plus using the buttons on the side (which you probably wont figure out is changing the song or turning the volume up) is a menace. youd probably avoid using it.
other than that working is fine. connection speed it great. transmission quality is also great. but the NOT TURNING off issue is like a major issue, and drains the battery. and you cant go and keep charging it evertime you needa use it.
Disappointed
April 5, 2016
It connected easily and generally works as intended. I have tried it numerous times over the last couple of months on 2 different receivers and speaker systems, and 3 different phones/ipods. In every case, the G-Cord causes a distinctive "click...click...click" sound. When playing music, it is mostly drowned out, but once you know it's there, you can't ignore it. If you play music loud, it may not be an issue, and most product reviews did not mention this issue. It was such a great price, I knew that there was some risk. Lesson learned.
Just about OK. Not worth the money
March 15, 2016
I have used this for 5 months now and I think it is just about an OK product. I think there are many other products available at much cheaper prices for the same functionalities.
1) The connectivity range is fine but it’s a hassle It connects to the phone when you are in the car and has no issues. The issue however is with the hassles to get it connected. You have to switch the bluetooth device on (a long press and hold to switch it on), and in most cases it will not pair with your phone. You will have to go into your phone – settings - bluetooth and manually connect to g-cord device.
2) While the audio is good, this device is not handy, if you intend to take phone calls. The mic is very weak and does a very shabby job. The person on the other side can hardly hear you. If you receive a call when connected to the g-cord Bluetooth device – it does not automatically play the audio from the car speakers – rather it open up an option on the phone to chose the mode of connection (g-Cord, Iphone etc)

February 6, 2016
I only owned this for like 4 months and it stopped charging. Even though it was paired to my phone, it never reconnected itself like most other Bluetooth devices. I used it in my car and it was very annoying. It would constantly disconnect on me while driving, sometimes like two or three times in a row. Just annoying all around, don't waste your money like I did. Got an Mpow and it's way better than this junk

Cuts out and static
August 6, 2017
Bought this a while ago................at first I had a hard time getting it to connect to my laptop. It connected to my phone right away. Hooked it up to my home theater system, and the sound quality was deplorable. I thought maybe it was just that some of the music I have on my phone is at a less-than-optimal quality.................I was fianally able to connect to my laptop after switching the unit to a small bookshelf system MUCH closer to my laptop (3 feet away..............the home theater system is about 15 feet away) The playback quality is AWFUL..................lots of static and cut-out. Can't use it without feeling like I should beat my head in with a shovel. I'd return it, but postage would be more than it would be worth.............(Plus, somehow the original box and paperwork disappeared...............can't imagine WHO threw it away <glares at wife>)
Good sound, but skipping audio
June 29, 2017
I tried this Homespot reciever, (this product) and the audio was pretty good, but the connectivity was terrible - lots of skips. YMMV as I understand there are different versions of bluetooth technology. I'm using it on a 2013 MacBook Pro for reference. The skips were so annoying that I had to return it.I returned The Homespot and purchased the HiFi HiFi Lossless Bluetooth Audio Receiver Optical Fiber Coaxial Out for Digital Amp. The connectivity was better but the sound was definitely NOT HiFi (high-fidelity).That's being returned and I just ordered the Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Music Receiver. Audioengine B1 Bluetooth Music Receiver It's 4X the price, but several different websites that did shootouts and reviews all said that it's the one to buy if you're an audiophile.Perhaps this will work for you, but apparently I can't get by with one at this price point.
Lots of dropouts
March 25, 2017
I struggled trying to get this to work for me. I stream audio from my MacBook Pro to my stereo system (located line-of-sight, 25' away). With this receiver, lots of dropouts and disconnects. I had to situate my MacBook at just such an angle and then not touch it. Still, walking around the room or opening the refrigerator door caused dropouts.Spend just a few more dollars and get the Miccus Home RTX. Working great. Not finicky.
Frequent audio cut-off is frustrating
June 8, 2015
Got this to be able to stream music from my cellphone to my audio receiver. Have had it around for a few weeks and have the following observations:Good:1. NFC pairing - NFC pairing with my android phone worked perfectly.2. Seems to have decent range for my usage scenario (I am in the same room as the receiver, haven't tried to use it while connected from another room)3. Small form factor - The device is very small and I was able to put it next to my receiver. It would have been barely noticeable were it not for the flashing blue LED light on the front.Bad:1. Frequently experience audio cutoff even though the device has a direct line of sight to my phone.2. The flashing blue light on the front gets annoying after a while. Wish there was a way to turn it off without having to power down the device. Not that happy overall due to the audio cut-off issue. Might have to look at other options if this continues.
Awful range, even when compared to portable mini-receivers
April 30, 2015
The range is dreadful. Can't even sit 9 feet directly in front of it without the audio being cut off.I had purchased an Indigo BTR9 Bluetooth Wireless Music Switchable Transmitter and Receiver for other purposes, but decided to compare its range with the HomeSpot (I expected the Indigo to be lower because it's considerably smaller and runs on a battery). To make the comparison fair, I placed the Indigo receiver exactly in the same place the HomeSpot was and tested with the same transmitter (a Nexus 5 phone). The difference was staggering. While the HomeSpot cuts off at the slightest chance (placing a hand in between, being farther than 9 feet), I could walk with the Indigo to another room, stand behind the wall and still get a clear uninterrupted signal.NFC and pairing worked fine, though. The audio output has a good volume too.In conclusion, the HomeSpot hardly delivers on that 66 feet range promise (actually more like 8 feet). Unless you live in one of those tiny Japanese capsules, this receiver will not fulfill most needs for home use.
Works ok, but range only about 8 feet.
August 15, 2014
Easy to pair, sound quality seems just fine when close. Nice for them to have included both 3.5mm and RCA cables. I give it 4 stars as I only seem to get 15-18FT range, and that's line-of-sight. It goes down if I'm in the next room. I don't find that unreasonable, and it works for my purpose, but it's much less than the 66FT advertised.EDIT: I bought this item to use on my deck, which is located outside my bedroom where my stereo is. Normally I run a headphone jack out the window when I have people over and want music outside. I thought this would be a more elegant solution. It wasn't. My nearly-new iPhone 4S is 10 feet away and the only thing that separates the receiver is a screen, and the audio is very choppy. It gets better if I put it on a chair next to the window. Might as well have the cable. Downgraded to 2 stars.

This one was more money and I thought it would be better. Nope

looking for a replacement to one of these Bluetooth to aux things I have seen in the past. This one was more money and I thought it would be better. Nope, the power sounds and stuff is some women talking which is really annoying and when you plug in power it resets the unit so you have to press the on button.
Too sensitive when connecting something else to charge, stopped using it altogether.

Easy to setup, but if you connect anything else, this will power off, which is frustrating. I usually would have my music going, but than realize i need to plugin my phone, and each time I would plug it in the unit would power off. I thought that it was maybe a defective unit so requested a replacement. Same thing happened. Ultimately I stopped using it at all, and I have my phone wired directly into my stereo.
Might as well just get a 10 foot cord...

This thing is horrible. You'd seriously be better off getting a really long auxiliary cord. This thing will make your music jump, skip, lag and pause randomly. I'm not sure if I just got a bad one or what. But mine is ineffective from more than 10-15 feet away. And it definitely will not play clearly if you're holding your phone and turn your back to the device. I suppose this is truly an example of "you get what you pay for"...
Just Like My Other Receiver Made by Mpow, Except Crap
November 11, 2015
It doesn't automatically connect to my phone most of the time. I have to manually connect it before I start up Pandora. It'll connect on its own maybe once every 10 or 20 times that I turn it on, but it's a big inconvenience. To make it even worse, I just realized that when I plug it in to charge it, it makes an incredibly annoying high pitch sound. I had to unplug it for my sanity. I have another one just like this except it's a different brand and it works wonderfully. I'll most likely purchase the other brand that I have and then throw this one in the garbage when it arrives. I like having two so that I can do a quick swap when the battery dies. However, it's not a very quick swap when you have to manually connect it to your phone.

No transmitter mode, reviews appear to be phony.

Won't pair with headphones in transmitter mode. Can't tell if it's in transmitter mode, either, for that matter. Instructions may or may not be correct. Receive/transmit switch to T? Where is that switch? Doesn't exist on the device, nor in the "manual" does it show where this mythical button is.Oh, do you notice how many 5 star reviews are the same, or similar? Don't believe them, they're probably fake.

PIECE OF GARBAGE

This thing is garbage. It disconnects from my phone all the time. I leave the house and come back, not connected. I go to bed and in the morning it's disconnected. I sit around the house without using it for a few hours and it's disconnected. Meanwhile my iphone is always in range and always has bluetooth turned on. Likewise the device is turned on. It disconnects even when they're sitting in the same room. It's not signal interference - the signal is always strong. Yet I have to open my phone settings and force it to reconnect, because the stupid device turns itself "off".I BOUGHT A PLUGIN BLUETOOTH DEVICE TO BE ALWAYS ON!! WHEN IT DISCONNECTS FOR NO REASON AND I HAVE TO MANUALLY RECONNECT, IT'S COMPLETELY USELESS!! Piece of junk.
Cheap sh*t. Do not buy.

The device worked for a whole of 40 minutes before it disconnected. I then tried to get reconnect any of my devices -- two phones and three computers -- unsuccessfully. I tried everything, including restating the device. Nothing worked. The decode became unrecognizable.
Works fine right up until the time it doesn't work at all

This device paired up easily with my iPhone 6 and provided a good-sounding interface between my iPhone and my Linn receiver. I enjoyed listening to my iTunes music library on my home system for a month or two. Then one day it just quit working. Just quit. My phone searches for it but does not find it, and no amount of resetting of either phone or device renders it findable. It just sits there, blinking its little light, doing nothing. And no amount of googling, Internet searching or digging through Amazon uncovers anything helpful in the way of tech advice. I realize it's only thirty bucks, Jeff Bezos, but to me that's still real money. This device has turned out to be yet another manifestation of the Disposable Society.
Poorly designed audio receiver and highly impractical for daily use
July 30, 2015
DO NOT BUY!These bluetooth audio receivers are very frustrating to use. I purchased this product based on the seemingly overwhelming amount of positive reviews and so I had no idea about how truly impractical and annoying this audio receiver is to try and use. First red flag I should have noticed is the manufacturer's claim that there MUST be a clear line of sight from audio source to receiver. Anyone with basic common sense can come to the conclusion that this is something that can be quite problematic if there are people walking around or if there are objects in the way. When they say there must be a clear line of sight, they really mean it. If even a thin piece of clothing or fabric disrupts the line of sight for a millisecond, the receiver "freaks" out and starts skipping parts of the song. Sometimes, it even does this odd thing of playing the music at a much higher rate of speed to catch up. It's ridiculous. I tried setting it up in different conditions to try and see if I could improve the consistency and reliability of the sound but even when my iphone was literally inches or a couple feet away, there would still be occasional speed-ups in the song or skips. It's very annoying to use and a very poorly designed product.

This product was horrible , I bought this with the idea that I would spend more ($30) and get very good range and a good product. Little did I know that when my phone is placed in front of it it would still skip and have horrible sound quality. I have this connected to my home theatre system and it doesn't even work when I'm in the room that it's set up it.I bought a bluetooth speaker for 30 and it has way better range then this piece of s***. I will leave the speaker in the room upstairs and walk down stairs and outside my house and it will still work. People walk in front of this receiver and it starts skipping, while I'm in the same room.I want my money back!!!!!
Clips the first few seconds of each song
February 26, 2015
This unit easily connected to my stereo, however it cuts off the first 5 or 6 seconds of every song when playing through my iPhone 5s in close proximity (10 feet). I have a Bose Soundlink Color which performs flawlessly with the same phone in another location (and has better range). After reading all the favorable reviews here, I'm very disappointed. Perhaps I received a defective unit, but how am I to know?UPDATE:I just purchased an Mpow Streambot NFC Bluetooth receiver that works flawlessly. See that product for a comparative review.
