A good Sweeper
August 3, 2017
I had trouble at first, I did not get a service manual so I reordered it and I did not get a manual the second time, so I called the company.thy were good to work with and I was able to put it to gather, I like it from the start just from its looks and I thank it will be worth the extra trouble
Does the job well
June 16, 2017
This sweeper does the job well. As some have pointed out, the assembly instructions were written, by all appearances, by someone who hadn't actually done the assembly, or else didn't remember what he did. Some steps are backwards, so take the instructions with a grain of salt, sea salt if you are particular. Time will tell how long the unit lasts. That's why I am not eager to review purchases immediately. If I have problems I will update. I use equipment with an eye to longevity, so it should last for some time. I don't see any inherent problems with the design of the machine. This is the first lawn sweeper I've owned, so I can't compare it to others on the market. I used it to sweep up a dozen loads of clippings from our rental house lawn. Heavy windrowing doesn't seem to bother the unit. In fact mowing to windrow the grass will reduce your sweeping time. Gardeners should be prepared to make compost out of the grass, because it heaps up quickly.

It arrived on-time with all components present and in good shape. I put it together this weekend using its easy to follow instructions. Of course the real test is how did it perform...great! It saved me from so much manual labor of raking leaves like I used to do. My first use was amazing and I look forward to a long friendship with my Brinly lawn sweeper. I would recommend this product to anyone.

November 5, 2015
I bought this about five weeks ago and used it for picking up this season's leaf fall. I have a lot of trees in my yard on a half acre lot and this device made the job easy. Assembly wasn't difficult at all since the instructions are written clearly. I used the sweeper every 3-5 days to keep the yard looking great. Also, I overseeded this fall and I wanted to give the new grass seedlings as much light as possible. I pulled the sweeper with a John Deere riding mower and found that the sweeper did a better job picking up the leaves if the blade on the mower was operating, instead of just pulling the sweeper and not in "grass cutting" mode at the same time.

As with other reviews, I give this sweeper a top rating. It is built study and does an excellent job!
Great sweeper but Instructions could be better
April 1, 2015
Was going to bump this rating down a notch because of the instructions but the unit is solid and works great so let it 5 stars! Have large yard with oaks and pines and at first run it filled fast! But those instructions... and the tiny illustrations. Like items 11 & 12 aren't shown on the parts list but they're there and shown on the Hamper And Hamper Component View image drawing. Huh? Sliding item 66 thru item 40, must be some trick to that. And attaching the wind screen half closed on page 18. Don't you have to disassemble item 38 out of the hamper to get that as shown? Got it figured out but being a mechanical engineer might of helped a little. Great solid unit and works great, too, just could use some TLC (and proof reading) on the instructions.

Nice tool to have around.
September 20, 2017
I have white pines and oak trees in my yard, so I thought I would give this a shot at getting the pine cones and acorns. There were a ton of little failed pine cones around the yard, and it did an OK job with them, probably scooping up 60%-80% of them after multiple passes on the shortest setting, which was good enough for me. It was a lot of work at the shortest setting, but it still beats raking. Then the big wind storm came through that covered my yard with sticks, twigs and leaves, and suddenly I was really glad I had this thing. I raised it up to a normal height and it scooped everything right up (not the bigger sticks of course but I wasn't expecting it to get those). It saved me a ton of raking and was much easier to push at a normal height, so I had the whole back yard cleaned up in no time. My lot is about 0.4 acres. I have a riding mower with bagger that I use for leaves, but this is a great supplement to that as it can get places my riding mower can't, or if there's a pile of something that's not worth getting the mower out for, this thing is a breeze. I went in on a chance and now I'm glad I got it.Still too early for acorns.... I'll let you know. I'm not that optimistic as the brushes tend to launch the pine cones out in front if it rather than scooping them up. Fingers crossed.
Good leave sweeper
August 3, 2017
Great for picking up excess grass clippings and leaves. My regular lawn mower does not have a grass catcher, so this helps when I let the grass get too long to just recycle/mulch the grass clippings.Needs some attention to adjustment to start, but then works wellI found it easier to hand empty the bag, rather than removing and dumping for final removal.
Works like a charm on our artificial turf!
July 20, 2017
Bought this for sweeping leaves and 1/2 inch seeds off of our artificial turf, and it works like a charm. We had previously tried raking, hand sweeping, blowing and vacuuming and this is the fastest solution, by far.One note is that after setting the sweeper height properly many of the seeds kicked out forward when we pushed, so we added a row of double thick duct tape (stuck back-to-back) to the bottom of the front edge between the wheels. This is stiff enough to contain the items and not get stuck in the brushes. It doesn't quite reach the grass.
Put your kids to WORK!!!!
January 21, 2016
Works like a champ!!! see picturesAssembly less than 10 minutes, depending on who is in a grumpy mood.Made 4 passes in one picture and one pass in the other. The single pass was up even ground and the bag was full. Had the bag been less full it would have picked up more leafs. The first picture I made 4 total passes, and that filled up the bag. But 4 may have been over exuberance on my part, as 1 pass did an adequate job. The catcher bag is a good size for it. Any bigger people would complain its to cumbersome. ITs easy to remove without dropping leaves and empties easily. The material of the bag seems like it'll wear quickly if you leave it outside in the sun and rain...so do not do that. but if it does tear or rip......duct tape will fix that up real quick.Construction of it feels stout but its not heavy at all. Easy to push and doesn't fling leafs in you face if you push sprinting pace.Adjustable brush height is handy if you got big leaves and don't want to touch your grass for some weird crazy person reason. If you edge you lawn the brush gets low enough that you can use the sweeper instead of a blower or broom....and that helps me drink beer!Works best on even ground, but if the first pass doesn't get it the second one will Even picked up a rock or two.5 stars is more than appropriate for this. If you read a review of someone complaining about the catcher size........pity the foolOverall its DA BOMB! a good buy in my opinion. Much better than your mower and better than the raking your kids will hate.
Using the sweeper is very easy as all you do set the height and push
May 30, 2015
I ordered this sweeper and had to return it because the sweeper mechanism was backwards (sweep direction was reversed what it was supposed to be). It took me a little while to figure that part out. I returned it using the attached label. I got the replacement in only a few days and this one was correct. It took about 15 minutes to assemble (my kids and I already knew how to do it since we had assembled the first one).Immediately, we began sweeping the leaves in our yard. We have a level lot and the area with leaves only about 1/4 acre.Using the sweeper is very easy as all you do set the height and push. It took a little while to figure out what worked best for our yard to do the job with least amount of time and effort. The bag only holds so many leaves and got full quickly with all the leaves we had (quite thick cover of leaves since we hadn't done any raking). What we found worked for us was that we go in a line down the yard, then at the end of the yard, we flip the handle forward to the ground and dump the leaves. Then turn around and go back up the yard on a new line beside where we just swept (kind of like you do with a lawnmower) and then flip the whole thing over to dump leaves at the other side of the yard. When done, we have a line of leaves on either side of the yard. Later, we figured we just put a huge blue tarp on the ground to dump the leaves, then pull the tarp to the street and dump there for city maintenance to come suck up into the big leaf truck during the leaf season. We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the yard sweeper. You figure out what height adjustment works for your yard and leaves, then start pushing. NO loud noise, No gasoline, No electricity, just people power. My 9 and 10 year old kids are quite experienced using the sweeper (and even compete to sweep the leaves) and I don't have to get up leaves anymore. The kids even enjoy doing that job. It is so much easier and more fun than using a rake and does not give you blisters. The kids were NEVER eager to rake leaves, but don't mind sweeping. We even got some looks from neighbors walking by wondering what in the world that thing was. They watched then wanted to know where they could get one. Once we got all the leaves up, it was quite easy to pull out and run over the yard as more leaves fell in the weeks to follow.Don't run it over strings of Christmas lights in the yard because they will get tangled up in there.I don't know how it works on all types of leaves, but on oak tree and and bradford pear tree leaves, it worked great. It might leave a few leaves here or there, but overall it gets the bulk of the leaves up and leaves the yard looking quite nice.
Excellent lawn sweeper
December 1, 2013
I thought this sweeper worked very well. It doesn't pick up every little leaf/twig, but it does a really great job of picking up most easily. I read a lot of mediocre reviews for this before I bought it, so I was skeptical, but it's better than many reviewers give it credit for.Make sure to adjust the height correctly. That's the most important thing, and it's very easy to do. You should be able to feel the brushes brushing the ground. You want that to add a little resistance to your pushing but not so much that it's difficult to keep the sweeper moving. Level ground also helps as plenty of other people have mentioned, but it works fine on hills and slightly uneven ground.I disagree that it's only for light jobs. Our house backs up to a wooded area, and we get tons of leaves. But I could raise the sweeper to its largest height and pretty much tackle any pile of leaves. You won't get it in one pass by any means, but go over it a few times, lowering periodically if needed. It'll work. I actually think piles were easier than a large, light spread of leaves. The hopper is plastic and it fills up quickly. I don't get why this is a common complaint. It's a leaf collector. You want to it collect quickly. If it was any larger, it'd be unmanageable. It's a good size for transferring into a trash can/bag. You can fill up the hopper in about a minute, so you will spend most of your time emptying the hopper rather than sweeping. But that doesn't mean the hopper is too small. That's just how fast the sweeper works. As for the plastic durability, I haven't had mine very long at all, but it seems durable enough. It's made out of material like a common tarp, and we're just temporarily holding leaves here. The assembly isn't bad. Set aside an hour and you probably will be done early. The instructions aren't that difficult. You need some basic tools, really just a couple of wrenches. A hammer and needle-nose pliers will make your life much easier on the palnuts. This sweeper doesn't 100% pick up everything or eliminate the need to own a rake. In fact, it really works best if you rake leaves into little piles or rows that you can sweep over. My wife raked into rows that I swept over and we finished both of our seriously neglected, leaf-covered, not entirely level lawns in about 2 hours. That was 6 completely full 39 gallon trash bags of leaves. That would have been an all day project before.Clearing your lawn still takes some work, but this provides a massive reduction in the amount of that work. And it really doesn't take a ton of storage space when you're finished with it. It's easy to use and very effective. I highly recommend this product.

Great for the money
April 5, 2017
Live on an acre an I'm pretty impressed w what this sweeper picks up. Neighbor has a field of gumball trees which drops THOUSANDS of caltrop type seeds and this thing has done an INCREDIBLE job picking them up out of my lawn in addition to lawn clippings.

If you are cutting tall grass and leave behind a BUNCH of clippings it does struggle to sweep them and it will take a few repeat passes to get the trail up.
Works pretty good for it's intended purpose
May 23, 2016
Works pretty good for it's intended purpose. It doesn't do to well on uneven ground. Reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the arms that attach the rear bag to the actual sweeper. The mount holes that attach these two items was miss drilled from the factory and would not align to allow me to install the clevis pin that holds the two items togeother. I had to upsize the holes quite a bit for the clevis pin to correctly. It wasn't to much of a problem for me but it might be to somebody else that doesn't have the proper tools....
Brinly Lawn Leaf Sweeper Actually is Dual Purpose
April 23, 2015
Got this sturdy and tough Brinly to sweep leaves from our lawns after having tried a manual leaf sweeper which did not work well. This sweeper works quite well, and I discovered that it can also function as a grass clippings pickup system so that one does not need a tractor-mounted grass catcher. To serve as a grass catcher at least for our lawns requires another trip across the lawns at a higher tractor speed than is used for grass cutting, so that the brushes rotate quickly enough to toss the clippings into the catcher. It is very well made and even the reinforced plastic catcher is quite substantial. I did not give this five stars because I wish that it had a floating sweeper head to deal with depressions and wheel-in-trench situations. Assembly instructions were clear enough for assembly but a couple of parts for the catcher did not match the instructions and some improvisation was necessary. Very good price and service from Amazon.
Heavy Duty, well made, hard to assemble
April 16, 2014
The price is good for a well made piece of equipment. So far it works like a charm, picking up everything on the first pass. I wanted it for those sticky balls that fall or our trees (not sure what they are called), worked great. I have to say it was very hard to assemble, the instructions were not always clear and in some cases there were two models of sweeper being represented in the same directions, made me stop and lood for missing parts. I also put some parts together backwards and had to redo them, the guide was just not clear enough for me. In a couple places the holes did not line up, forced them together, but was not ideal. Once complete it works great. Like any sweeper it is intended for the ideal yard, which mine is not. It passes over dips and misses some areas, several times the pull rope has come off and become wrapped up in the brushes, pretty much my fault, but still. So, much better than any other sweeper I looked at, at the same or less money.
Great product
March 20, 2014
Unlike some other reviewers, it took me a bit longer than 2 hours to put it together. However, I was being extra careful. I have to say that the instructions and all the parts were labeled better than anything I have ever had to put together. All the nuts, bolts, etc. come shrink wrapped on a piece of cardboard in sections with each section marked with the matching step in the instruction manual. No need to hunt through a bag of "stuff" trying to figure out which bolt/nut to use. I was impressed!

As far as the actual function of the sweeper, it worked great. I live in Florida and my yard is full of live oak trees and there is some bamboo along one border. For those not familiar with live oaks, they are absolutely beautiful trees but they drop leaves that are roughly 2-2.5 X 1-1.5 inches long and have a waxy, tough texture. They quickly work their way down into the grass and are difficult to rake. It took a few passes but it did a good job of picking everything up. It took about 45 minutes to do vs. doing it by hand which would have taken hours.

The only reason I did not give the product a 5 is that part of the sweeper was bent upon arrival. Based upon where and how it was bent, it was not due to shipping but, obviously, had left the factor that way. It does not affect the functionality of the sweeper so I did not return it.

I can not yet speak to the long term reliability of the tool.

Easy Assembly, Good Performance
May 3, 2017
Assembly was a breeze. I don't know why others had difficulty, perhaps the design has been updated. It took me less than 10 min to assemble. Operation is acceptable and better with practice. Setting the sweeping height is key for smooth or bucking operation. I used to clean up gum balls and on each pass it would pick up 70-80%, kicking a few ahead. This is still way better than raking or picking up by hand. I would recommend this sweeper.
A very good product, but for gum ball sweeping, I'd call it average.
April 24, 2017
A good product. I want to give it 5 stars, but it has a little trouble with gum balls. My nemesis! It does sweep them up, but it takes quite a few passes to get about 75% to 80% of them. Which is still good, it cuts raking time way down. Which is why I'm torn about giving it 5 stars. It does work well and it does a really good job sweeping up everything else. It's just that the one thing I really need it to do well is sweep gum balls, which it seems only average at doing. A solid product overall.
Really good at picking up leaves, pine needles and sweet gum balls.
November 27, 2016
I used it for at least 2 days for long periods to clear leaves. It picked up pine needles, sweet gum tree balls. It works better on flat ground and in short grass, but really works well. I used it to pick up heavy fallen leaves and it fills the basket quickly. I found that just flipping it and dumping it in a piles works best. I took off 1 star because the bag is already coming unravelled from the sewn corners. I would like to see better wheels since it is used mostly in the grass.I have been looking for something that picks up sweet gum balls and this works perfectly. If you've tried these evil balls cling to grass and are difficult to rake and blowers don't help either. Through plastic brushes they lift the balls out of the grass and throw them in the collection bag. Worth it for this feature alone.
Beats raking leaves by a long shot!
November 13, 2016
I just received the sweeper today and already I love using it! We have a lot of large trees on about half an acre, so raking in the fall can be a nightmare. It is super easy to use and adjusting the brush height takes quite literally 10 seconds. Assembly took my husband and I about 10 minutes total. It won't completely clear your yard (especially in one pass), but my first run was on a yard almost ankle deep in leaves. Word of advice: try to start using this when the leaves just start to fall, not when you have a yard full of them. There is only so much capacity in the bag, so you'll have to stop often. One star off for the design. One of the rods that holds the bag in place in the back has a strange fitting that is nearly impossible to attach. My husband and I got creative, and it ended up working out well with our modified design.
Lots of fun if you keep your grass short.
January 19, 2016
In order to use this sweeper effectively, you need to keep your grass short. It's adjustable, so it has a setting for longer grass, but then the older, deeper leaves won't get picked up. (The alternative is to adjust the sweeper for short grass and push with all your might!)It's not obvious how to dump the leaves, but after a few tries, I learned to flip it over and walk forward a few steps. That's enough to get 90% of the leaves out.It doesn't feel incredibly sturdy, but seems to put up with my abuse. After a season of using it (abusing it?) on my 1 acre of lawn, there's a very small rip in the bag, but otherwise, it's still great.I tried attaching the sweeper to my bicycle and attached a larger collection bag (did I mention the abuse?), to see how well it would work. It was a lot of fun, but pretty hard to pedal. See video.
How to save your back when raking!!!
October 27, 2015
Just got around to using this product after purchasing it about 6 months ago. It picks up leaves fantastically. My yard was in need of a good trimming which made parts of it difficult to sweep. The brush only goes so high (away from the ground). If the wheels were taller, it might alleviate this problem. The sweeper made quick work of picking up leaves, but be aware that you'll have to empty the bag every 5 minutes depending on how much leaves you have to pick up. The bag is honestly easy on, easy off. I'd recommend getting a "leaf and lawn chute" to hold the lawn bags open for easier dumping. Others say that this breaks down for storage. Yes you can take the bag off easily but it is an enormous pain in the butt to take the handle on and off. If you stand it upright, it has a pretty slender profile.I could not be happier with this purchase. Even with it's slight annoyances, it was worth every penny.*Tip for assembly* Put the three pieces of the handle together first before trying to attach it to the brush base. I couldn't get the crossbar on when I put the sides on first. Also, there are palnuts that need to go on the top (long) metal bar for the bag. These must be hammered on to the rod. The instructions say nothing about how to actually attach them. We set them on concrete and hammered them on. It can't be done by hand.

Some DISassmebly required... found a few bolts loose in the bottom of the box, had to remove a wheel to put them back, good thing, as one of the bolts under the wheel wasn't seated correctly in the square slots. At lowest setting doesnt't pick many pine needles off of driveway, works fine in grass. Any uneven ground and the wheels will slide.
Good and bad
April 13, 2017
It picks up leaves great! As many people have said it is a pain to put together and the directions aren't very clear. If you have a big yard like we do you will be emptying the basket a lot. I got about a row done and had to dump the leaves. Small sticks can jam the brushes and lock the wheels up. It picks up leaves really well though. Was hoping it would work on acorns, not so much.
Difficulty with assembly
November 17, 2016
I am usually pretty good at putting things together. But this was a nightmare. Instructions were so over kill they got really confusing. Also you get extra materials that are labeled like the others but you don't use them. Many items could have been pre assembled .
Assembly bad, performance great.
April 2, 2016
Ok, OMG! Get ready for a ride. Thank goodness I read other people's reviews before trying to assemble. You have to use your imagination when assembling and I even created a couple holes myself with drill. Make sure you try everything on before assembling each step. Read carefully and take your time. However, once I got it assembled, it works great!
Sweeps well, but some component problems.
May 30, 2015
I bought this sweeper on April 26, 2014. I use it to pick up grass clippings from roughly 1.5 acres of grass that I mow. I typically have to dump it into my pickup truck 7 or 8 times to make a complete sweep of my lawn. I then haul the clippings to my local "brush dump."

The carton arrived within a few days of my order and was undamaged. Assembly was about two hours, but I was in no hurry. Everything went together pretty well. I made a couple of test passes and adjusted the brush height a couple of times before I was happy with the rate of pick up.

All in all, it does a good to very good job picking up grass clippings. I'd estimate it gets 65 to 75 percent of the grass, which is acceptable. I'm inclined to give it a five-star rating, except for...

...the bad news. After a month or so of use, once or twice a week, the brush height adjusting knob fell off, never to be found again. Off to Home Depot to get a replacement. The knob and bolt I got from HD actually does a better job than the original. I now check the knob before every use and find I occasionally have to snug it up.

But wait there's more. Last week, on May 18, 2015, the sweeper abruptly stopped picking up the grass. I couldn't see any external reason - nothing tangled in the brushes, the wheels were turning. Hmmm. I took of the left wheel and found two broken teeth in the inner ring gear. Off to brinly.com to order a replacement: $28.33 for the wheel, $17.17 for shipping. It arrived about a week later; I put it on the sweeper and BAM, the brushes still did not turn. I disassembled both wheels and removed the pinion gears. The pinion gears have an interesting design. Externally they look like a simple gear, but underneath there is a spiral shaped bore and a floating pin on each end of the brush axel that, in concert, act as a sort of differential. When making a sharp turn, one wheel may not turn at all, but the outer wheel still turns keeping the brushes spinning. A clever design except for one small problem. The little step in the spiral bore that catches the floating pin wears down until eventually it never catches the pin and the brushes stop turning. After figuring this out, I ordered two replacement pinions, a left and a right (they are different.) $3.67 each for the gears and $14.88 for the shipping. Total weight: about half a pound. Once I received and installed the new pinion gears a week later, HOORAY, the brushes are spinning again!

Brinly only has a 90 day warranty on parts. The pinion gear failures (both gears were worn out) occurred at the one year mark. I expect I will be replacing the pinion gears regularly, but since I'm already invested in the sweeper, I'll probably put up with it. One last complaint: Brinly's shipping costs are outrageous, e.g. $14.88 to ship a six to eight ounce package by FedEx is abusive, in my opinion, as is $17.17 to ship one wheel that weighs 2 to 3 pounds.

I like the job the sweeper does picking up the grass; I'm disappointed in the level of material workmanship. Shipping for parts is a ripoff. Only three stars.

Not a bargain but it works
October 1, 2017
Value - 2 1/2: Paid $140, should be under $100 for quality. Mostly plastic, handle seems flimsy though a handyman could beef it up. Bag is light vinyl.Effectiveness - 4: Light Autumn load. Was happy it picked up maple seeds(helicpoters) that even the lawnmower wouldn't. It DOES sweep up leafs. 2hr rake/bag job done in 40 mins.Ease of use - 3: As said in other reviews, height adjustment is key(which is easy). We have bumpy uneven turf, adjusted a few times. About as much effort as manual lawnmower. Bag filled pretty quick, even w/a lighter leaf load, but a bigger bag would be heavier/harder to unload.Overall It seems to work as advertised. Good for light/med loads. If you wait till leafs are ankle deep this will be useless as you'll go 8' and have to empty the bag.

September 13, 2017
It was a struggle to use at first the wheel kept sticking. It would pick up but was not easy to push a friend came by and did some adjusting now just waiting for leaves to fall to see how it really will work. The rod seems to keep slipping off and have to keep stopping to fix it.
Wheels have very poor traction and doesn't work well in the lower settings
July 17, 2017
Unit arrived with all hardware missing. Had to contact customer support to receive replacement hardware, which they sent promptly so +1 to customer service. Performance is mediocre, though it does sweep. I mainly tested with lawn clippings, which while it does pick up, it ends up spewing half of the clippings in front of it. Should work okay for leaves though. Wheels have very poor traction and doesn't work well in the lower settings. Overall wouldn't recommend for the asking price as there are many cheaper units available.
But you get better with practice
March 30, 2017
Takes a while to learn to hold and adjust the level. Lumpy grass is a challenge, it will pick up about 60 % of the leaves on my cement tennis court. But you get better with practice. I'd like to find either a 4 cycle gas or electric vacuum that has a wide (at least 24 in) width for better leaf clean-up that isn't a ton of money.
Ok for a perfectly groomed lawn.
March 30, 2016
When it arrived it was missing a part which rendered it useless. I called Agrifab and they sent the missing part. Took about 1.5 weeks to arrive.Works ok.In a perfect lawn I guess it would be ok but in my yard the brushes get hung up on grass "runners". It has a hard time with bamboo leaves also. I was looking for an easy alternative to raking as I have a bad back. Would be nice if handle was a little higher. Probably go back to raking by hand and post it on Craigslist. Sorry.
Good so far...
January 4, 2016
It was easy enough to assemble. You NEED the wrenches, you will NOT need the Phillips screwdriver.Figuring out height adjustment is key. I have patches of St Augustine and other places where it's super thick. First go around, the Sweeper won bc I just couldn't get it right. It'd stop dead in it tracks. But I was also trying to pick up asuch as I could.Once I got a rhythm it got WAY easier. I filled 3 large waste cans in no time. This is perfect for me bc I have oak varieties that drop SOMETHING year-round. ..it gets the large and small acorns, and even fine, thin crepe myrtle leaves.HOWEVER, the plastic ends keep popping off the lower legs as I'm removing the bag.

May 26, 2016
This seems like a fair product, but the assembly directions are terrible. Not descriptive at all. Most of the time I can put stuff together with simple directions. This was complicated directions and ver,y very confusing. Some holes did not line up properly, also. It was truly a 4 hour non-stop process to get this thing together. I ordered 2 other Brinly products and almost returned them without opening the package. Do not buy based solely on the directions!
Save your money - buy a good blower
December 3, 2015
This could be better - expected better results. First the box was damaged and one of the poles was bent - I just fixed it because it wasn't that bad - regretted this later in the assembly phase as it was tough to get it together.

On to the using phase - When leaves are spinning back they kinda bunch up at the shoot area so it doesn't maximize the storage area. The bag area is huge but I only am able to use about 1/3 of it before I have to dump the leaves because they are bunched up. Pain to put together - instructions are weak at best. Also the raising and lowering part is a pain. It picked up about 1/2 of the leaves in my yard. I went back to using a blower into a pile. If I still had the box I would send it back. Just isn't worth the money. Buy a good blower (I have a Husqvarna backpack blower) , put a tarp down and blow them onto the tarp. Oak and Maple trees in my yard. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, maybe its my tree types, maybe my yard - I don't know.

Two stars just because the parts seem solid and well built... if only it wasn't damaged - and worked as I expected it to...
Disappointed in quality
July 16, 2015
After the second use the tension rods fell out of the equipment getting lost in the yard. Also the screws that keep the frame together without lock washers keep coming loose with the bouncing/agitation of use. Very disappointed and frustrated in these situations. The sweeping/brush mechanism does pick up the dry grass nicely.

June 5, 2015
Product assembly instructions were vague and unhelpful. Packaging of small pieces was a plus as they were divided into sections according to assembly step. The one I received did not have holes drilled for the stabilizer rods and drilling round metal that is already assembled was not something I wanted to do. Once assembled the product worked as expected, however when you empty the bin it would have been nice to have a way to keep the brushes from moving until you moved away from the dump site and reset the bin.
Brinkey Sweeper same old ,same old
April 18, 2015
Got this recently after having had over the last 20 plus years ; 2 Agi- Fabs , and 1 Ohio Steel sweepers . Knowing these were at best OK with mediocre quality I went back to the drawing table and thought I would give this sweeper a try. Cost was comparable so why not. Well off the bat the instructions are horrible (I was actually excited when I saw the skin sheet with the hardware laid out) and even watching the you tube video assembly is still a pain. Then I find out that some of the hardware is meant for a different model! Yet it is shown in the insruction manual , and included in the skin sheet. The manual even shows the bag spring rods going in the same holes as the little plastic plugs, which incidentally are not even needed! Then when you are done you are left with 2 extra sets of nuts and bolts. After a test run the unit appears to sweep OK but to me it looks like this is going to be another sweeper that will start to break down after a season. When will someone make a sweeper for residential use with quality gear assembly's and frame and bag that will be durable? Well in my opinion this one isn't it. I for one would be willing to pay over the high $200's and up to $400 if I could get one that would last 7-8 years without having to start replacing parts or cobb jobbing the thing together during the first season.

Extremely difficult to push in grass, takes more effort than just using a rake.
July 11, 2017
I'm not impressed with this sweeper. Even at the highest setting, it's extremely difficult to push across the grass. If you hold it at EXACTLY the right angle, you can usually get it to work. But forget sending the kids out to pick up grass. They can't get it to budge. It's much less effort to just rake than use this. I wish I'd gone another route and maybe paid extra for a pull-behind model. For me the packaging and assembly wasn't a real problem like other reviewers have mentioned.
but not easy to accomplish especially if your lawn is not perfect
June 4, 2017
Proper height adjustment is key to the sweeper working well, but not easy to accomplish especially if your lawn is not perfect. Also, if you have a lot of leaves be prepared to spend a lot of time emptying the sweeper. I returned mine and plan to buy a gas powered leaf mulcher someday.
Useless if you have a blower or wish to bag a lot of yard waste.
December 9, 2016
I have about a 1/3 acre with 7 fully mature, very large trees. Normally, I use a blower/rake to put leaves in piles, then bag the leaves. This product simply requires FAR too many bag changes to be efficient. It's nearly impossible to bag leaves with this when you're solo.Best method I've seen is to sweep until full, dump leaves in a pile, bag from the pile. Since I have a blower that works quite well, this item is relatively useless.I can see the value for someone who doesn't have a lot of trees, or doesn't need to bag, but in my situation, this was not worth it.Construction seemed alright. Nothing great. Not "industrial" strength, at all, though. To be expected at this price point.
I would not recommend this sweeper for anyone who has an uneven yard ...
December 7, 2016
I would not recommend this sweeper for anyone who has an uneven yard with lots of trees and slopes because it doesn't work well. In flat areas it works just ok. We sent it back because it didn't work well in our type of yard.
Product OK - Shipping horrid!
September 23, 2016
The sweeper itself is decent - I would describe it as "OK." It definitely makes getting the leaves and ficus nuts off the yard much easier. You won't be able to throw away that broom (this thing won't edge), but that's hardly a complaint.I see a lot of negative comments about the size of the catcher. It does fill up quickly, but I found it was roughly enough to fill a standard brown trashbag. I, too, would love to have a Bag of Holding for my yard waste, but that's just an unreasonable expectation.Big penalties for the packaging. Amazon, or Agrifab, or whoever shipped this thing - the product container is not suitable as a shipping box! The package arrived ripped and dented, with one of the rods sticking out of the box. All of the nuts, washers, and bolts were loose in the box. A few of them were missing - I presume they escaped through some of the holes in transit. Luckily I could get close approximations at Home Depot (I didn't want to hassle with shipping it back if I didn't have to), but I have to consider myself fortunate that more pieces weren't lost in transit.
I think that it is overpriced even if I was happy with it
May 29, 2016
Difficult to push through grass even when the grass is short. It picks up stuff fairly well, but it's just too difficult to use so it's on Craigslist waiting for some other sucker to buy it at a fraction of what I paid for it. I think that it is overpriced even if I was happy with it.

Don't waste your money

Super disappointed with this product. Wanted to have it to use over the long weekend but product arrived damaged and all parts were dented inside. Just disheartening to spend this kind of money and receive such a cheap product.
Poor quality and poor design. AVOID!
November 13, 2015
Here is why you should avoid this sweeper:
1. Awful to assemble. The tolerances are totally unacceptable. You'll have to muscle the tubes to connect together and some pieces are so poorly drilled, that you will have no hope in getting the bolts to align without expanding the holes by re-drilling.
2. Quality is lacking: the overall feel and strength of this makes me wonder how short-lived its life cycle will be. The wheels feel like they'll soon be bending or snapping off. The brushes are weak. The hopper feels like it'll wear with holes in no time.
3. Ineffective: once built, the sweeper does a very poor job of actually sweeping. I think the brushes needed to be denser and stronger. The cheap wheels seem to slide or jam too easily.
4. The catcher is poorly designed so what few leaves do get swept, either clog or fly over the catching top.
5. I wasn't hoping for IKEA easy directions, but theirs were so poorly written, that you'll get a headache (though having to deal with the poor quality pieces and their failure to assemble, might be the main cause of your headache).
Poor durability

This worked well for a few months before the plastic gear on the wheels stripped. In addition, the pinion gears will have to be replaced. My previous sweeper was Agri-Fab and lasted more than 20 years so this is a real disappointment.
Assembly is VERY difficult!!
April 20, 2015
I have had this thing in the middle of my living room for a couple of months waiting for someone to help me figure out how to put it together. I am not a stupid person but this is ridiculous! I can not tell what bar goes where....I need help!!! I will write again if I get a chance to use it.
disappointed
April 15, 2015
It took 6 hrs. with the manual And YouTube to assemble but even at the lowest level it would not pick up cut Bermuda grass. It took a lot less time to disassemble and return but there was no hassle to return it and get a refund. It is always a pleasure getting something through Amazon!

Dont waste your money on this
September 13, 2017
Works well on level grass. If ground is uneven the wheels/brushes jam which is really annoying. One has to constantly adjust the brush depth because it leaves leaves behind having to go over twice. Tried on flat blacktop drive at the next to lowest brush setting useless. Any small twigs cause wheel locking. Better off with a blower or leaf rake. Total waste of money. Can see why it was reduced in price

fell apart during use. Literally collapsed. Screws didn't match, this was a hot mess.
I would not recommend it.
January 24, 2017
Maybe my grass is too tall but the thing only picks up some of the leaves and is to small to be effective on my lawn. I have to empty it to often.I would not recommend it.
it works great. As a practical matter
November 21, 2016
As it concept, it works great. As a practical matter, the components do not hold up. For example, the top of the bag is already ripping where the top rod goes thru.
Push Lawn Sweeper
April 15, 2014
I purchased the product to sweep my new synthetic lawn of leafs that fall from the tree. What I found was that is pushes the leafs in front more than into the basket. I tried moving at different speeds and when I move really fast not quite a jog it perhaps captures 20% of the leafs. My lawn is flat and even, the synthetic grass is a soft variety and not very tall. I tried adjusting to different heights with the sweeper. This product might work when you have deep pile of leafs. It's not for me
Total waste of money

Hard to push. Cheap materials. Extremely over priced. Bag ripped. Front wheel bent. Very disappointed. Wish I could give it zero stars.
