Pleased with money belt.
January 9, 2017
Bought it for my son for a international trip. Good product.
Essentially What I Wanted
November 23, 2016
I am pleased with this product. It's light weight but well made; the belt's profile is thin and lies flat against the body and money and credit cards fit comfortably and securely into the zipped compartments. The belt comes with a passport protector and three credit card blocking sleeves, which I haven't used yet; however, I'm happy that those items were included. There is a snap-together buckle to keep the money belt taunt on the waist. My only reservation about the buckle is that it may be vulnerable to accidental unbuckling by users in a hurry to access their money. It might be better to have a more traditional belt buckle design that couldn't accidentally come unbuckled. To date, though, I have not had a problem with the snap-together buckle.Travel Money Belt - Including 1 RFID Blocking Passport Protector and 3 RFID proof Credit Card Sleeves]]

Traveled with this belt to Iceland, France and Philadelphia. It does what it's supposed to do and it's not uncomfortable to wear.
Items are kept secure!
October 31, 2015
My husband and I recently traveled to Italy. He needed a money belt while touring in Rome. He wore the belt and it held both of our passports (though snug), credit cards and money. It was comfortable and our money, credit cards and passports were secure. We felt secure using the RFID blocking sleeves for our credit cards. The only negative is that it is difficult to get to your money and cards. It appears that you are taking off your clothes when you try to get to your money. But the only way to have security of your items is with this belt.We won't ever travel again without it.
GREAT TRAVEL ~ GREAT PROTECTION
September 10, 2015
This is one of the VERY BEST items that I have purchased in a long while ~ the TSA agents at the airport were quite taken with it ~ said it was absolutely skimmer proof ~ congratulated me on being wise enough to buy it ~ although some comments suggested it was bulky, I found it to be flat and comfortable under any and all clothing even a slinky dress. SO CONVENIENT TO HAVE CARDS, PASSPORT, AND CASH all in one easily accessible spot!I intend to buy one for my daughter who travels often and is always groping for her purse.BUY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT BUT THE BAD GUYS WON'T!
Good choice for security in a money belt
September 2, 2015
There were lots of choices for a new travel money belt, and I shopped a long time. I think this is a good choice. It seems well made, just the right size (some of them are too tall), and has a good closure. I like the double pocket and the fact that it is a blocking fabric to thwart any secret scanning. The security sleeves/envelopes seem of good quality and just the right sizes. I am ready to travel!

Comes with me on every trip.
August 21, 2016
I absolutely love this and do not travel abroad without it. I like to wander around Europe and spend a lot of time in train stations, bus stops and just walking through the streets and particularly in Italy and other Mediterranean countries there are lot of pickpockets and I know several people who have walked through a crowd only to find money or passports missing. Well, I keep most of my money folded up in this belt and then wear another belt on top of it to hide it and my money has stayed safe, despite me wandering into places that maybe I shouldn't have. I also print a copy of my passport and fold it up in there, just in case. As a bonus, I use it to help control my spending as I only pull out a certain amount of money each morning and since it's such a pain to get to, it helps me not to splurge on gelato. I've been I travel a few times a year and if I'm carrying cash, then this baby comes with me. It's comfortable and doesn't really show any wear. Well worth the peace of mind.
Good looking belt
December 2, 2015
This is my third Eagle Creek money belt. I wore one out and have another in black. It's solid. I've tried two other brands and the buckle gave out on both. Not the Eagle Creek. The buckle holds well and is durable. Just don't step heavily on it. I like the looks and use this as my everyday belt. The belt lays flat with a few bills rolled up inside so it's not obvious what it is. Having a plastic buckle doesn't set off airline security alarms. When I lost my wallet on a long road trip, having some cash with me made the difference between a nightmare and simple inconvenience. I'll always travel with a money belt and it will be this one.
Tremendous belt with an upside.
January 2, 2015
This belt has very sturdy construction with an all plastic construction. Initially I was worried about the buckle holding up, however, my fears have been proven unfounded. It is certainly lightweight and sturdy. The hidden money pocket takes a little practice to learn how to get the bills in, but once you know where to fold each bill it goes pretty quickly.Important note: Despite other reviews which talk about only fitting about 6 bills, I have EASILY fit 10 -12.My only reservations come from the zipper pull itself. It is a small pull but just dangles (like they are want to do) at the end. Other products have a bit of fabric to tuck this pull under for a bit more security. In all the time I have been wearing the belt, the zipper has not worked itself even the tiniest bit open, so I am more and more confident that this will never be an issue.Buy this belt, you will not be disappointed.
Airport Friendly / Non Flashy Money Belt
December 10, 2014
Kept my money secure while in Brazil. You will have to fold the bills long ways, and probably multiple times. The zipper is pretty long, at least a foot or 2 long. What I did was take 4 or 5 bills, fold them 4 times long ways, put them in and zip it up some. Then fold 4 mill bills the same way and place them in the belt and zip it up some more.I carried a fake wallet, with about R$100 in it and some expired credit cards along with the credit card offers they. Every morning I would replenish my fake wallet for my daily transactions. If someone mugged me I could happily hand over my wallet, or if I was pick pocketed it wouldn't be a great loss.I wore the belt through the airport with no problems. That was nice as it's one less thing you have to take off. Also I had to cut a few inches off the end, I re-melted the end on the gas stove to prevent fraying.
My new money belt
July 16, 2012
I ordered this belt a month ago for a trip I'm planning this fall. I decided to give it a good test before I take my trip. I have used this belt every day since it arrived. it is well made and stands up to having heavy equipment like knives, hatchets hung on it when I camp. I was concerned that the plastic buckle would not hold up but it's great and so is the inside zipper. I did a test on the bills it will hold and easily got ten bills in it. I could have done fifteen but twenty would have been a stretch. This is an edit to my earlier review. It is now January and I have worn this belt every day for 7 months and it is like brand new. The buckle has never gave me a problem, the belt is in like new condition still. I wear it with my leisure slacks, camping, hunting, fishing, out to dinner. I even started to wear it to work once in a while. it is a good belt with or without the money stash feature that worked out great by the way one month over seas the zipper got used a lot and is still fine. I ended up getting 15 bills in it plus a reduced copy of my birth certificate and driver licence.
Love these belts
April 21, 2012
I've been using my Eagle Creek belt since 1997 as my regular daily belt. I like it so much that I've bought additional belts over the years just to have a variety. First great thing about it, I'm a "big" guy (46 waist) and it works just fine. Second great thing, it's a great money belt but doesn't look like a money belt. Third great thing, it's all plastic (why is that great?), which means I don't have to take it off everytime I go through a metal detector, which happens often at my place of work. Excellent quality. Always looks good.

we thought it'd be best to get a lock
October 12, 2017
We recently purchased these product for our trip to Italy to lock our backpack and my wife's purse. After hearing so many stories about pickpocket, we thought it'd be best to get a lock. Easy to setup and place your preferred pass-code. The numbers aren't too small as some comments have mentioned - IMO. Well after unlocking and relocking this several times during our trip it hasn't broke on us yet. It was useful since it was a peace of mind going into crowded train stations and buses.

great lock for keeping honest people honest
January 12, 2016
this is the 4th TSA master lock I have purchased for my luggage. I travel often and want to keep my stuff mine. These locks work perfectly for that. TSA has special keys that allow them access to these locks while keeping the general public out. Of course... if a thief wants in... they will be able to get in... but it keeps honest people honest.
Great for the Price and Use
April 16, 2014
Arrived on time, in order, and as expected/described. Very simple to use, likewise for the changing of the combination code and durable. This is not the lock used at Fort Knox, so don't expect it to perform in that manner, it is to dissuade those without true criminal tendencies...do not use on back packs or similar luggage because the wire allows for movement and with backpacks etc., a person could open the bag a bit. Otherwise, I use it on my tool boxes etc., and its great.
THIS IS A BASIC TRAVELERS LOCK
September 15, 2012
I traveled to China with this lock on my luggage and it worked exactly how I expected it to. If you are like me, you want to lock you luggage to know that it was not tampered with when you leave it with the flight crew, or leave it all day in a hotel when the cleaners come in. This lock is perfect for those reasons, and it opens and closes quickly and easily. No one expects to buy a luggage lock that cannot be broken, right? Anyone who wants to get into your luggage will just as easily brake the zipper before breaking the lock. I really want a simple way of knowing if someone went into my luggage without permission. That way I can hold the airport or the hotel accountable if it occurred while in their possession. And this lock is perfect for those needs. Plus it was very easy to lock and unlock with no need for holding onto a key. Very good lock. Also it is TSA certified which if you do not know what that means I suggest visiting their site by googling tsa locks; and it is the link that says - TSA: AIR TRAVELPlease let me know if this was a helpful review for you!

The pouch is fantastic. The RFID pieces
June 26, 2016
The pouch is fantastic. The RFID pieces, although I did not check if they actually worked, made great sleeves for a passport and credit cards. However the RFID sleeves have already begun to fall apart after using the passport sleeve for 2 weeks and the credit card ones for 4.If you're just looking for the pouch, you'll be more than satisfied with it's discrete profile and use; the sleeves are a nice bonus. I would not recommend if you're looking for a sleeve to use long term.

Great belt for travel
May 18, 2015
I wore this belt for 2 weeks traveling 1,300 across Morocco. I was able to keep $600 US, and a copy of my and my wife's passports. I wore it through security in the US, Spain, Morocco, Amsterdam no issue. In Morocco I had to go through additional security and they didn't seem to notice the compartment. Overall, I recommend anyone traveling abroad or if you live in a bad neighborhood to purchase this belt.
Worked great on my recent trip to Asia
January 10, 2015
Worked great on my recent trip to Asia. I was able to keep a color copy of my passport and up to 15 $100 bills in the zippered compartment. The belt looked casual and went well with shorts and jeans. My only, very minor, complaint is that the belt size was not adjustable so depending on how big your waist is, there maybe a little extra belt webbing. I have a 38" waist and it was still slightly long and would like to have been able to cut down the length a little. I would definitely recommend this to keep extra money hidden and away from any pick pockets or accidentally losing your cash.
It gets the job done.
November 19, 2014
I got this to use as my primary belt for a post-grad backpacking trip across Europe. I purchased it primarily because I had heard horror stories of pick pockets, but also did not want to wear anything that would be annoying on my person for long periods of time. The belt is fashionable enough in the dark brown color -- it complements a pair of jeans pretty well without looking too cheap. The inside of the belt has a zipper in which you can easily fit multiple bills if you fold them up well. I carried a couple hundred Euros with me in my belt, though I'm sure you could fit more if you chose to as well. Simply put, it gets the job done if you're looking to inconspicuously carry cash on you while being a tourist in a foreign country. My one complaint is that it is not of high quality -- the material which it's made of started fraying quite badly 2/3 the way through the trip, and towards the end, the frayed threads looked a tad ridiculous. I used a pair of scissors to snip off the problematic regions, but this only makes it easier for it to unravel in the future. Granted, I did wear the belt for a 23 day journey. I've since thrown the belt away. All in all, while I wasn't targeted by pickpockets, I was definitely glad I purchased this belt. It could've been a life saver.
Eagle Creek Travel Belt
March 15, 2014
All terrain belt? Really? What kind of belts are people wearing these days? A dress belt will most likely make it through some outdoor terrain action. Unless it was acid terrain. Bananas. This belt, however, is dope. For real what have I been doing with my life not wearing a fiber woven belt with a plastic belt buckle? Yo, this is the most comfortable belt I have ever pressed up against my hairy belly skin. And now I can store...like a sheet of paper on the inside of it. Sure hope that comes in useful. I'm considering some world travel sooner rather than later and I look forward to folding my emergency pieces of paper inside my silky, durable all purpose/terrain belt. Hell yeah.
Works well
April 27, 2013
My father was going to Latin America on a trip. When he travels there, he always uses a money belt. He could not find his leather one from a previous trip so I ordered this one for him, primarily because it lacked a metal clasp. Items with larger metal pieces have to be taken off at an airport, and in my experience, you want to keep your money and passport as near as possible. I fully expected him to use the belt only until he could get a handcrafted leather one made in Guatemala or Mexico. However, he came back and actually continues to wear the belt as an everyday belt. While wearing the belt on his trip, he found it to be secure, easy to put on and take off, and outfitted with a strong zipper. He also loved that he never had to take it off at the airport. As with most money belts, the negative is usually folding your money enough so that it can be zippered securely. This required a bit of patience and persistence. All in all, a good purchase.
Worked fine.
April 18, 2013
Bought it for trip to central America. Fortunately never had a chance to need it, but was very handy. Decent looking and innocuous. Once filled, found it helpful to pull the belt through my hands numerous times to soften the folded currency within. Only complaint is that they should lengthen the zipper pocket (not sure how this could be a negative and would allow more bills) and widen it because bills have to be folded down too much so they get thicker than necessary. This last really is a dumb point as if wider the bills would be thinner folded and thereby less easy to notice as a "bulge", also easier to fold and insert. In any event is worked fine and will use for years to come I hope.

Essential component for Sportube Box
February 26, 2017
One has to have a cable padlock to hold the 2 halves of the Sportube together in transit but the TSA in the USA always want to open one's ski box to check for contraband so this product fills the bill. The cable is very strong and the only criticism I have is that over 3-4 years use the plastic covering the steel cable has deformed and progressively worn so that it jams in the holes of the sportube box and makes it hard to disengage the cable. I have eventually had to cut away all the plastic and just leave the steel cable.
Good lock for luggage or other zippered items like a tent door
December 18, 2016
Mine happened to be RED not BLUE, but that does not matter to me. Just as expected. Small lock for luggage. I'm actually going to use this for locking a tent door at a campsite (locking the zippers together) as it is a wire mesh lock that is flexible. Works great for that, but certainly would work good for luggage as intended.
Nice little lock for those who want a small deterrent at very modest cost.
December 16, 2015
Very nice little lock. Metal construction, and quite sturdy. My deceased father once told me that locks are for keeping honest people honest. This lock will work for that purpose. The cable is thin and covered in plastic, and will fit nicely in a luggage zipper. I plan to use these to close the two latches on a small handgun case. Understand that the cable could easily be snipped by bolt cutters (or maybe heavy duty scissors).Changing the combination seems to be a little bit tricky, so I have not yet done so. Those who want serious protection might not like this small lock. Those who just want a small deterrent at very modest cost should be pleased.
Master Lock - Cable Luggage Lock
October 13, 2015
This lock is not especially secure. One look at the cable and you can tell that almost any wire cutters could probably demolish it. HOWEVER, you have to think of what a lock really is. A lock like this is merely a deterrent for those that may want to mess with your stuff, the security it provides is hardly a physical barrier, but a psychological hindrance. Any thief worth his salt would be able to break into any lock in this price range, or even above this price range. The purpose of a lock like this is to prevent casual criminals from messing with your stuff. Period.Personally, I backpacked all throughout Southeast Asia for three months without any problem. I love that the cable is flexible and can fit into almost anything. It certainly helps with thousands of different locking situations you could possibly find yourself in. The code is easy to set and change and it's TSA approved. All in all this is a great lock to pick up for around 5 bucks.
Good for Securing Backpacks and Carryon Bags
July 8, 2015
I bought these locks because the loop would fit through the zippers on my backpack and carryon bag. After opening and closing these locks over the course of two weeks, though, I discovered these locks showing signs of wear on the metal latch that hooks into the base. The wear didn't affect the integrity of the lock although it was a little surprising. At first, I was disappointed that these weren't what I considered to be "prison grade" but no lock is impenetrable. For the needed functionality of securing zippers and deterring thieves, however, these locks were perfect. I would recommend this item if you need a TSA approved, light duty lock that will secure zippers on your backpacks and carry on bags. If you need a lock for checked luggage, I would recommend a different lock that alerts you when the TSA had used their key to open your bags.
Good lock
December 28, 2014
Seems to be a nice sturdy lock and the combination is easy to set. I've used two of them once so far, but will be using the 4 I bought on a longer trip soon. Even with TSA locks sometimes they get cut off anyway so I like having extras. (Actually I have had luggage opened with cut off locks and no TSA sticker or message. I contacted the TSA and they said they always leave a notification of some sort and it may have been airline workers snooping around, so be careful what you pack in checked luggage!)I took off one star because you can't choose your colors. It says assorted colors. I ordered 4 and they are all black. Boring. But not important really.

March 19, 2017
I bought this Eagle Creek money belt because my old eagle Creek money belt, though still working perfectly after ten years, needed a face lift I guess. The new belt did NOT have ykk zippers something eagle Creek usually always uses because of ykk's qua!Ity. Was it a knock off? I do not know. You can fit about 500 US dollars in twenty dollars bills in it (I cover them in cut to fit plastic sandwich baggies to prevent tem from getting soaked with persperation, which they will if you do not do this--trust me on this). I also bought a ZERO GRID money belt recently which is about one eighth of an inch wider and the money storage part, about five inches longer. It is over twice the price of the eagle Creek money belt, which is expensive, but worth it I feel. In the Zero Grid money belt you can fit four bundles of twenties US dollars (400 dollars of twenties in each bundle--that is twelve hundred dollars) folded lengthwise and wrapped in thin cut sandwiched baggies). This keeps that amount of money safe from would be thieves ( I sleep with my belt around my waist when I am traveling---better paranoid and safe than pennyless when traveling far from home). And NO I am not in anyway a spokesman for Zero Grid. ( I love eagle Creek products, but I feel the Zero Grid money belt is much better than Eagle Creeks money belt at least for me and my travel needs.) Hope this lengthy summary helps someone.
Great Functionality but Not Durable
June 19, 2016
I loved this belt for traveling or everyday wear. The brown color goes well with jeans or hiking pants. It is lightweight and the buckle is easy to use. I loved this and wore it almost every day during my travels. And then the buckle broke! It just slipped off and after holding on to the strap and buckle for months hoping to find a way to fix it, I finally sadly threw it away. Will miss this belt but probably won't buy again because I do expect a belt to last more than a year.

February 2, 2015
Would rate as fair/okay; web belt fabric seems sturdy enough but buckle (and teeth pinching fabric) appears to be made of plastic) and the end of the belt has no clip over it to prevent fraying over time. I therefore question the durability of this belt over time. Also, belt itself appears to fit up to waist size 38-40; thus a bit tight for me to wear comfortably being 40-42 waist. It does look good, but if your waist size is over 40 I don't recommend you get this belt.
These belts used to be great, now they are barely ok
January 25, 2013
I've owned one of the Eagle Creek all terrain money belts for 5+ years. It has been great and I've used it for travel to Southeast Asia, Argentina, Mexico, and all around the United States, but I've also used it as a daily belt with jeans over the last several years. Some people have said that they dislike the plastic buckle, but that was one of my favorite parts of the original belt. It was nice to be able to go through metal detectors etc at the airport without having to remove my belt and I really liked the infinite adjustability of the original clamp versus the standard belt style with holes for specific waist sizes.Lately, after years of use, the belt fabric material on my original had begun to fray a bit, which makes the buckle a little more difficult to clamp and sometimes it has a tendency to pop open randomly. I have gotten a lot of use out of the belt and I've been very happy with it so I decided to order a replacement. The new belt I recently received has a re-designed buckle that pivots instead of clamps down. Maybe they did this to fix the issues with the clamp and frayed fabric. Unfortunately, this design seems completely inferior since it makes it much more difficult to adjust or remove the belt. The new belt has the same model name as the old style and the Amazon product that I ordered still currently shows a picture of the old style belt clamp. It's unfortunate that Eagle Creek has ruined a good design.

Easy to open; don't use for air travel
September 25, 2016
Too easy to open. See post in an earlier review about looking through the crack above the numbers and finding the "notch." It works! Also, there is a video on You Tube that shows how to open with a paper clip. Now with this said, I use these locks for when my bag is left in a hotel for the day, not for air travel. TSA doesn't use their key to open these types of locks, they just break the locks; there are plenty of posts across the Internet about this. Using the lock in a hotel room is a deterrent for the casual maid that may go through your things.
Was Removed and Discarded by TSA the first time I used it...
June 11, 2015
My first impression was that the lock itself was a bit flimsy, and in reality it could probably be picked or removed with little effort. Despite this it does at least serve as a deterant if a potential thief wanted to make a quick grab for an iPod, iPad, etc. That being said, my chief complaint is that this lock was removed from my bag and promptly discarded by the airline (TSA) the first time I tried to use it. No notice or note was left. Previous locks that I have used (that were admittedly the wrong type) were at least returned in a small bag attached to the outside of my luggage. I will be trying to get compensated for the lost lock, but this may serve as a warning to others who plan on traveling with this lock attached to their luggage.
Cracka Safe
May 26, 2015
Own more than one o these. Majority of the time no complaints. However, last one bought has an issue. I noticed this when after reLocking it I could not turn the numbers from the opening combination. Upon inspection, there is a metal flap that you must depress down when opening this lock. I noticed my metal flap got stuck in the down position. In this position, you can make the lock appear to be locked, however, unless that flap flips back up, the lock is not locked.Solution, when unlocking view metal flap. If in the downward position, and not up as it should be, a few hits of the lock and the flap springs back up, you can lock the lock and turn the numbers. Not attempted to oil it or any other fix, just figured it was a glitch specific to this lock, not all of them.

Its ok. The cable lock mechanism releases by pushing it inward onto itself, thereby unlatching it. This is simple and cheap to make I am sure, but if you have it snugged up on a luggage item with little extra room to spare (and since its on a piece of luggage its likely to be upside down and tough to access) that unlatching can be a lot more difficult to do than when you first tried it out holding it in your hand.
Lock that gives peace of mind yet not as durable as my others
May 15, 2013
We ordered 6 of these to use on our suitcases for our trip to Thailand. We had heard the horror stories of items being placed in your bags and being detained and we didn't want to risk our bags being open.TSA locks are approved by airlines & security so I knew they would be okay at the airport. When we first left for our trip we found it was simple to set with our passcode and hook onto the suitcase zippers. I selected these due to their cheap price (cheapest available on amazon) and the long handle which I thought would make it easier to loop through the zippers on our duffle bags.Initially they worked. However when we arrived in Thailand we then had to transfer from Bangkok to Koh Samui and when we retrieved our bags with the new locks we found that they were already scuffed. So the airline obviously threw our bags and didn't handle them properly but I will admit the locks held up through that offense. Our next stage was a longtail boat to Koh Phangan and when we arrived we found that our locks had sand which collected somehow inside the locking mechanism. So we put wear & tear on the locks; we had a tough trip. They got banged around. On the bright side they worked and didn't directly break. However out of 6, only 2 stayed fully functional. 4 of the locks are definitely challenging to use now. They have scuff marks and difficulty locking now and even turning the dials to input our combination is challenging due to the sand which got trapped inside the lock likely from when our bags were tossed out of the boat and onto the sand of the beach at arrival and departure.

RFID blocking folders are good; however, the zipper on the money belt broke within two days of the 14-day trip with light use. I threw it away.
Travel money belt

It was fine. I just didn't need it much but I have it for my next travel and it may be the handiest thing ever the next time around. It was comfortable and the function was good, but the need wasn't there this trip.

August 11, 2016
The internal compartment is too small to hold anything of value - the height of the compartment is 1/3 the height of a dollar bill - try folding your money lengthwise into thirds and see if you can do it (Maybe if you are a street magician you could force a few bills into it). It certainly cannot hold any kind of credit card or government issued ID. Maybe if you had something really long and narrow to hide, or just wanted a place to store a handful of coins, then it might be worth it. Otherwise, I would pass.

I'm a 32 waist it was 42 I trimmed it back because it was obviously hanging and continue to unravel. Not happy with it though it did conceal the money and it was good for the one trip
Disappointed.
May 6, 2015
Yes it is a money belt with a secret compartment. However, in order to make money fit in it you have have triple fold the bills because its really thin. Also, the quality is somewhat lacking.I got this for my son to wear on a trip to DC and the buckle broke in four days.I guess it will do in a pinch, but there are better products out there.
Metal Zipper sets off security alarms
January 10, 2015
I bought this belt to avoid the hassle at airport security. This belt with the "plastic buckle" WILL NOT PASS Through security. It happens to have a metal zipper and it sets off the alarm every time.(3 times before we figured it out)Also, I don't like the way the buckle operates. Additionally, the webbing is very long and unless you are very wide, you'll have to cut it and burn the end to keep it from unraveling ........

January 31, 2016
I bought this lock after reading all the good reviews. I will say that it's pretty sturdy and the flexible cable makes things convenient. The issue I had with this lock is when I wanted to reset the combination. The instructions stated that the lock could be opened using the preset lock combination. After struggling with it for about half an hour, I found another review here about how to break into this lock using a flashlight and the cracks above the numbers. Turns out the preset combination was wrong on the instructions and I found it unsettling that I opened this lock without the combo in less than 30 seconds. It's too late for me to get another lock, but if you want something a little more secure, look somewhere else.
Keep wiggling and hope you can set the new code.
May 27, 2015
The locking mechanism of this Master Lock 4688D is not firm enough. You have to wiggle in the steel wire (covered with plastic) in and out of the lock. Just not sturdy enough.I bought 4. when setting the new code for one it didn't set to the right #. Became useless to me. Would not buy again.
Three out of 6 purchased bad out of container.
February 11, 2015
Bought six of these..based on reviews. Read instructions carefully, First lock, the button would not reset at all. Set the combo as described, would not close. Worseless. Opened the second, thinking it was just defective. This one EXTREMELY difficult to set combination. Once set, again would not close. Very difficult to hold button down and set three numbers, who are difficult to move anyway. Afraid to try the rest. Will never buy again. Based on reviews, it seems 1 out of four never work. It's sad because the thing looked good, but no quality whatsoever. Be warned. EDIT,,opened the next 4 got three to work, the fourth works but I do not trust it. So out of 6, 3 failed. It's not hard to set up when they are GOOD, they work well when they work, but that the reason for the rating. Some just don't.
Cable fatigue ended my lock after three months.
November 7, 2014
Negative experience for me. Planned use was a visual deterrence for bag pickpockets on a day pack I use, and it worked as such for a brief period. After three months (4-6 open/locks per day, simple city use, no vigorous activity) of use in such a manner, I noticed the cable fibers 80-90% broken on the end that you connect. Only a few more days until only one fiber was left, and it was no longer safe to use. Out of sheer curiosity, I bent the other end (that stays connected to the lock's body) back and forth to see how long the cable fatigue would last. About 15-20 seconds. In my opinion, not fitting of the Master brand name.
dear lock: it's just not working between us
August 30, 2013
not happy with the design.- the flexible cable slips out of the zipper pull from its own weight when I unlock it, and it ends up on the floor!- you have to slide the cable to the side in the slot when you lock/unlock it, which I find awkward and fumbly (and I'm fairly dextrous.)- the dial has to be on the code both to unlock AND LOCK it. But the dial can move when it's unlocked w/ cable out, so you must set the code before you can put the cable back in - very annoying, and I don't remember this with other locks. On the plus side, the quality was fine, it stayed locked, and I didn't have any problems setting the code. I just find regular metal shank locks much easier, and would never buy this style again.
Be Cautious - They're Mixed Colors!
December 8, 2012
I didn't realize I could be getting any color when I ordered these, so be careful. Also - just worth noting. On the first trip I used these on, the TSA just cut them off rather than unlocking and relocking them - which basically means I threw my money out. I talked to the airline about it, and though I don't trust them either, they told me that it's common for the TSA to just cut off these types of locks because it takes less time then opening the locks.I'm going to look for something that can't be easily cut off - force them to take the time and to follow procedure in the future... TSA sucks!

October 7, 2016
This would have been a 3-star review until this morning, when the belt simply broke -- 5 months after purchase. I bought it because I really like another Eagle Creek belt I've had for a couple years. This one had a redesigned clasp which just didn't work as smoothly or hold as well as the first one. But now there's no point in discussing the clasp because what used to be a belt is now trash.I'll try getting a replacement from Eagle Creek. I'll update this review if they come through with a new belt.

I wore the old style Eagle Creek buckle for several decades before it broke. This newer design is NOT an improvement, much less secure.
Cheesy and cheaply made.
May 28, 2015
My husband bought this for some shore excursions. We returned it immediately. We weren't expecting Gucci, but this belt looked even worse in person than it did in the photo. Didn't have a lot of confidence that it would hold up for three days of excursions, let alone hold a few hundred dollars in cash. Refund process was prompt.
BEWARE OF THE NEW CHEAP BUCKLE!
August 31, 2014
They have changed and cheapened the buckle. I've had two of these belts for years and have gone everywhere with them. The original buckle was attached to the belt by overlapping a piece of the belt and sewing it to itself. Very secure. No way that buckle can become detached. New buckle is clamped on to one end, not securely overlapped and sewn. If that clamp breaks or gives out, belt will come off with all your bux in it, and you'll never know. Eagle Creek took a good thing and really cheapened something that is designed for security. You don't compromise on security! I am returning asap.
Not quite what I was hoping for
November 20, 2013
I was expecting the belt to be a little wider. The pocket on the inside was almost too small to fit anything. I had to force the zipper shut in order to carry a folded up piece of paper.

September 24, 2015
The numbers are small. The combination wheel is small and hard to turn to the correct number without affecting the adjacent wheel. You need to get the numbers in precisely the correct position. The numbers are very low contrast foreground to background. The number font is poor. It is difficult to tell numbers apart. For instance, 6's and 8's are very hard to tell apart. Overall it is very difficult to use for something so simple. The lock itself is useful. Just don't expect to open it in 15 seconds or less. At least I can't.

August 19, 2015
If I could give this lock a "0" I would! From the time I opened it, we could not get it to work. We followed the directions and it would not open so we obviously couldn't put our own code in. After trying several times we decided it didn't matter if we did get it open to put on our luggage because if we put it on, we may not be able to get the lock open!We were out of town when it arrived and then did't try it for about a month. By that time it was too late to return. Just Junk!
Terrible Product.
July 3, 2015
Followed the instructions to change the combination as soon as I got it. It did not work and now it's essentially useless. I just spent an hour going through every combination/permutation of the 3 numbers I chose and it still doesn't work. Worst part is that there is no serial number (new Master Lock policy), so I can't the universal combination from the company.

January 21, 2015
Bought this lock, set my combo, used it for a few weeks, all was well, and then......it refused to open. At all. No matter what I did. It had opened and closed fine probably 20 times between when I first got it and that point. So I smashed it with a hammer to break it open. A waste of 7 dollars, but seeing such a cheap piece of garbage get smashed is it's own reward.Won't be buying this again.
