Side by Side Comparison of: Graco vs Kolcraft

I don't usually write reviews but I think this is a good buy. I got it on discount but still, it's worth the value if it's not. I like it much better than my old summer lite although summer lite was easier to lift. I like the snack tray and the cup holder which makes my life on the way much easier than before. So it is a decision to make: more comfort for me or more comfort for my baby? As my baby was already two, I chose comfort for myself. Nonetheless, the only problem I have with this one is when lying down, my almost 2 and half year old daughter's head is already reaching the back of the seat which means if she grows a little bit taller, it wouldn't be long enough for her to nap in it. Therefore I am looking for other products but overall, not a bad buy given the price that I paid.

This stroller is so easy to use and is lightweight. I love it. So easy to shop with.

Can't beat this product for $60. I actually like this vs the one that came with the carseat (switched the bonnet on the seat for a different gender). Once you figure out what snaps where and how to collapse and open, it's a piece of cake. I'm glad I went with this one for my click connect carseat.

I have been using this stroller for my 9 month old grandson for several months now. The stroller is very light, and super easy to fold and unfold, like one hand easy. It does not fold quite as flat as some other Graco models do. I think it is well made and durable. I vaguely remember having some difficulty getting the wheels on, to the point of frustration, but obviously it worked out ok. If you attach a moderately heavy diaper bag to the handle, then lift your baby out of the seat, the weight of the diaper bag will pull this lightweight stroller over backward, but once you know that, you know to pack the diaper bag lightly or not attach it to the handles. The stroller has just two seat positions, flat down and straight up. I do kind of wish there was an in between position. I've walked many miles on park paths, etc. with no problem, but I would not buy this stroller if I were planning on doing a lot of 'off-road' walking, as I think the plastic wheels would wear through if used a lot on rough surfaces. I am a 5' 5" tall woman, and I find I can walk comfortably behind this stroller using my normal stride, unlike some other strollers.

I was skeptical to buy this stroller after reading some negative reviews but with the recent lightning deal I couldn't pass it up. It has a very straightforward installation process, took me around 30 minutes but could've been much quicker if I hadn't had two toddlers "helping" The seat feels decently padded and comfortable. I LOVE that it has a 5pt harness, with wiggly escape artists that feature is a must. Generous storage basket and a nice sized parents tray.The only downside to the product is that it is not compact at all when folded. We bought two single strollers instead of a double and these will take up nearly all of my trunk space leaving no room for luggage. It also only has 2 recline positions, one deeply reclined and one practically straight up. No in-between but those are not major enough issues to keep me from highly recommending it. It's a great budget stroller that still has a lot of nice features.

We saw this in a BRU. it's very light weight for a stroller. As small, LIGHT and as functional as the infant carrier frame stroller, but this can be used a lot longer.The folding mechanism is engaged by twisting the middle of the handle after pushing a safety switch. This is super one handed. It was light enough i could carry it one handed no issues, it's in the 16 lbs range. The is baby number two, i have a bit of experience with these things. We're buying this when the time gets closer.** Update 1(January 18,2015) **We bought it from Amazon and it came in a tiny box that was slightly bigger than the box for the bassinet. Set up was easy, but you'll need a hammer for the wheel end caps. Weight is insanely light. Definitely lighter than our older "Light weight" Graco stroller(Metrolite Le that we've had for 8 years). 16 lbs is a close approximation. Added the Snugrider 35 to it. The car seat is going no where, it locks into the sides of the stroller as well as the tray. Lift test from the car seat shows great locking into the stroller. It does require a little fiddling to get it all lined up, but most strollers do. I do wish the kid tray was easier to remove, but it's holding up the car seat now so it a pleasant frustration. at least I know its on there solid. The under seat storage is basically a shelf. Great for the diaper bag, but there isn't anything to really hold the bags in. At 6'1" without shoes I found the height of the bars at the bottom end of the comfort zone. my 5'10 wife likes the handle bar height. My only real quibble is that there is no kick stand. Vertical storage will need it leaning onto something. I'm bumping it to 5 stars because I love it for what we got it for, a super light weight stroller that my wife can manipulate after a C-Section. At the price, it trumps the frame stroller option that i was looking at for the first 6 months. If it lasts long enough to use it without the car seat I'd feel that I've gotten my money out of it.** Update 2 (July 18 2015)**After 2 months of using this I still say 5 stars. It's a small, compact stroller that handles well. No tipping issues, it's very stable. The only issue we have is that it's some times the car seat doesn't latch on the first time. The alignment isn't automatic like the jogger we have. But it's not a big issue because it takes like an extra 5 seconds to look at the latches. Once latched you can carry the stroller by the infant carrier; I have done that several times on stairs in parking garages and malls. It really is light weight, but with the utility and stability of a large stroller. post c-section the wife found it a breeze to get in an out of the trunk. Overall this is one of the best strollers we've had, easy to manuver in and out of clothing racks, and it's about the size of a frame stroller. It's definitely the go to stroller for now.*** Update 3 (8/22/2015)Rounding out month 3 We still love this thing. It's quirks are easy to get along with. It does have quirks. The strollers folding latch isn't the best but works most of the time. car seat latching is still fun some times. A rocking motion seems to help but it's not smooth. but it's solid when you get it. I'd say overall a fustration factor of 2 and an awesomeness factor of a billion.***Update 4(12/3/2015)I'm still rating this a 5 for value and function. As we're getting into the 6th month, this is our primary stroller. with the infant carrier, it was better than the frame stroller. The one issue is that there is only 2 positions for the back rest, up and down. at 6mo, he's only been in the actual stroller a handful of times, he's too small for us to be comfortable with him in there for long. but the up position is really far forward. it's almost at a 90 degree. We might be looking for a new stroller if the kid is uncomfortable.

I have had this stroller for almost 2 years now and I love it. I had to replace my giant graco stroller. This stroller is much more compact and you can stroll through crowds a lot easier. I have back problems and this stroller is so light! I can get it in and out the car without any effort. I also love how much storage there is at the bottom. If I am spending all day at the zoo I can put a small bag underneath with all my things plus snacks, etc for my toddler. The only complaint I have is the cupholders. Way too small for most standard cups. I would still recommend!

We purchased this stroller for a vacation that would involve a plane ride and an amusement park. Originally purchased because it was a very reasonable price and we wanted some specific features: reclining seat back, storage basket and decent sunshade. We got it all and LOVE this stroller.

The best parts:
The sunshade with the extra section really helped to encourage napping while touring the park.
The cup holders for parents AND for the child (although reusable water bottles don't fit).
The good-sized storage basket.
The light weight and the ability to stand while folded.

Things to watch for:
The sunshade snaps up pretty forcefully and many times our fingers were hit as it was thrown back (keeping somethign in the cup holder helps to avoid pain).
The (directed) placement of the front edge of the basket means things could get pushed out the front, so we opted to attach it to the front seat brace instead.
While standing folded the wheels can rotate too far and then the stroller will tip, but it is very easy to get them correctly positioned.
Also, we saw this stroller many times over at the park (in multiple colors), so follow the suggestions and tie a ribbon or two on yours if you are in a crowded area.

The seat back does not lay flat, but when child is strapped around the waist/legs it is enough of a recline that kids can sleep comfortably and won't be hanging by the straps. Also, the handle is a bit low. Taller folks (5'9" and up) may not be as comfortable pushing this for longer times.

Ok, SO here's the thing coming from a mother of 5 and 4 grandchildren. I truck right along with no issues going up and down a rocky hill twice a day. Yes the wheels are plastic but no problems so far. As, i said i used this EVERYDAY. YES the backing is not as hefty as other strollers but my two year old at 21 pounds doesn't go wild in it either. She just sits like she is suppose to so we haven't had any issues of it folding in half like others. Maybe it was the weight of the children OR being too active jumping around in it that caused it to cave or was a defect??. I have a HUGE ease of folding this up and unfolding with one hand as I hold onto my daughters hand on a sidewalk I do it by the tray lighty to re-open. The thing is so super super light though!! AND I highly recommend getting the Jeep Standard Weather Stroller Weather Shield with it!! Maybe im not too hard on strollers but I love it!! Oh and putting together was a cinch.

We have a $20 babys r us type umbrella stroller that needs upgrading, so we opted for this! After setting it up and testing it out, it works and functions great. This is the same stroller, made by the same company as the Jeep Cherokee Sport Stroller, Cobalt. So be sure to read reviews there too since the bulk of the sales is coming from that listing, but I chose this Kolcraft branded one for the black/red color combo. The main issue I read is that there are no back support. It is padded and there is a piece of cardboard inside, but no cross bars or anything. But if you're like us, upgrading from those $20/$30 babys r us umbrella strollers, then this shouldn't be an issue. If during the ownership of those $20 strollers, you felt you needed back support, then this model is NOT for you, but if back support was never an issue, then you'll be happy with this stroller. Besides, it is still an upgrade after all. There is more padding than those $20 strollers, which actually had zero padding. You also have to have some perspective, this is a $60 stroller so you can't expect the world. We also own the Britax B-Ready which is a $300/$400 system, and so we understand what not to expect from $60 strollers. These strollers are for quick errands, and for my wife when I'm not around since the Britax is too heavy for her.It came down to this model and The First Years Ignite Stroller, Naturalization, which had back support. But once again, back support was never an issue with us. We only started thinking about it due to the reviews. We ultimately decided on the Kolcraft because it just beats out the Ignite and all other similar price range strollers in so many ways. Here is the breakdown of why we chose Kolcraft over the First Years Ignite.BACK SUPPORT: Ignite Wins!--------------------------It has some sort of metal cross-bar for the back, so for those who think their child needs it, probably the heavier ones, they should buy the Ignite model. If you are new to umbrella strollers, you need to know that these strollers have very little to zero back support. it's like a shock to some people and so they leave bad reviews. Some babies are fine, like ours. But some may look uncomfortable, so you need to observe your child.WHEELS: Ignite Wins!--------------------The Ignite back wheels are also double wheels, so you have 8 total wheels versus the Kolcraft which has 6 total wheels. Not sure if the child can feel the difference, so not a big deal to us.BASKET: Kolcraft Wins!----------------------Kolcraft has a bigger basket, not to mention accessible. The Ignite has a basket too, but it's smaller on top of not being accessible. The problem is there is a crossbar in the way. I'm not talking about the back support cross-bar, there is another cross-bar that is part of the overall frame. Now, with your child sitting down, all the reviews say there is no way you can reach this basket. You can poke your hand in and out from the side, but there is no way to comfortably grab a bag, a blanket, etc. with your child already in the seat. You'll need to remove the child first. This is not an issue with the Kolcraft.CANOPY: Kolcraft Wins!----------------------The Ignite Canopy is fixed in one location, and it's not that big. You'll need to buy a shade accessory. The Kolcraft's canopy is quite generous and there is even a second layer that extends. The child will be fully covered even from the side angles.ACCESSORY HOLDERS: Kolcraft Wins!---------------------------------The ignite has a accessory bag at the handle bar for the parent, the Kolcraft has a double cup holder and tray. It's a wash, depending on which you prefer. But the Kolcraft still wins in this department because the child has a snack tray! This tray will also serve as a horizontal bar like you see in higher end models. For children who likes to hold on to something, this is great.RECLINE: BOTH RECLINE---------------------Both will recline, but if this is "VERY" important to you, then don't buy either of this model, check out Summer Infant 3D lite Convenience Stroller, BlackSECURITY: BOTH ARE FIVE POINT HARNESS-------------------------------------WEIGHT: Kolcraft Wins!----------------------Kolcraft is approx 12 lbs, the ignite is approx 14 lbs.FOLDING: DEPENDS ON PREFERENCE!-------------------------------This is also a wash depending on your preference. The Ignite folds like a traditional umbrella stroller, it folds exactly the same way as those cheap $20 strollers. But these are more heavier than those $20 strollers, so you'll need to get on the ground. But it'll take up less space in terms of girth, but more in terms of length. Some reviews say it was too long to fit in their trunk/back.The Kolcraft will fold up while you're standing, and it will fold up standing on its own as well. You won't need to ever go to the ground. Watch the video clip of this either here or on youtube. It's great, we love this feature. So it will not fold like an umbrella. It'll take up more space in terms of girth/width, but it'll be shorter than the ignite, which means it should fit in any trunk.At the end of the day, these are all cheap strollers. People will swear by you the quality of one cheap stroller over they other. But at this price range, you're getting a cheap stroller no matter what you choose. So I would focus more on function. I also wanted to get away from models that fold up like an umbrella because I could never use my feet to lift up the bracket or mechanism that controls the folding. I would always have to bend down and pull with my hands and was always conscious whether my fingers would get caught. The Kolcraft one-handed or two-handed fold while you stand sealed the deal.Highly recommended!

In the course of a recent transition, we (that would be mostly me) had a brain cramp and packed our full-size Graco away with long-term storage items. Oops! Being eight months pregnant, carrying my squirmy 30lb eighteen-month-old around on my hip was just not going to cut it till we could get our original stroller back in a few months. I immediately knew I didn't want a typical umbrella stroller (too flimsy, not enough options) so I did a lot of research and decided firmly on the Jeep Cherokee Sport Stroller. Only problem? The "new" model (identical to this Kolcraft, but in blue and pink) was super difficult to find. When I did locate it on Amazon, it was way more expensive than I was willing to spend for a lightweight, possibly temporary stroller.

Fast forward to stumbling across this Kolcraft. It looked suspiciously - exactly - like the Jeep Stroller, and a bit of research revealed that Kolcraft is the maker of the Jeep stroller. Same stroller, different names. So I ordered this one to try out.

Important (to me) options:
- Oversized visor - my little guy hates having the sun in his eyes, and I love that this stroller has a fold-down portion (black) that can also be pushed back into the red part of the visor. Simple but effective.
- Five point harness - did I mention little guy is squirmy? He can get out of almost anything, but has not yet mastered evasion of the five point harness.
- Nice recline - the recline is so easy, just an adjustable strap across the back that you can tighten for "upright" or loosen to whatever recline you desire. (It does not go flat, but that was not a requirement for my toddler. It does recline plenty far for him to rest comfortably when he is tired.)
- Smooth ride - my biggest gripe with my full-size Graco was that it was unwieldy. Everyone who used it commented on this - the toddler was comfortable, but maneuverability was definitely compromised! When this Kolcraft stroller came, I took it out of the box and pushed it in circles around our kitchen (with toddler gleefully inside) - back and forth, side to side, twirl, etc. I was amazed at how easily it handled. A few days later, I took it out shopping and it did great navigating aisles and various surfaces.
- Storage basket - definitely smaller than on my full-size, but still fits the diaper bag comfortably, or, if I left that in the the car (I don't usually have to have it along on short trips) would fit my purse with lots of room to spare.
- Snack tray for rider - the cupholder definitely won't fit my little guy's go-to water bottle (Nalgene sippy) but I wouldn't have put it in there unsecured anyhow (he'd throw it). My main reason for wanting a bar across the front was that he likes to hold onto it when he's in the seat. So it accomplishes that purpose. I suppose I could put snacks in the tray. But I didn't even use the snack tray on my full-size for that purpose, so again, this one is fine.
- Adult cupholder/tray - skinny cup holes...would fit a standard thin water bottle, maybe a Kleen Kanteen-sized one. I tend to use the adult tray simply for my keys, so again, this isn't a huge issue. Besides, the stroller is so light and easy to move, I can EASILY do it with one hand...so I can just hold my coffee, if I do happen to have some along.
- Easy fold - I feel like there is a slight learning curve to the easy-fold, but that might just be that my model catches a bit. I think this will correct as it wears in. Mine does not stand upright by itself, but since it is stored either in my trunk (flat) or basement hall (leaning against the wall) that really doesn't make any difference one way or the other.

Overall, this stroller is so lightweight that it's hard to believe it can hold up to 50lbs, but it did not "give" at all when I put my 30lb'er in it. I'm curious to see how it wears, but all the seams appear to be tight, the fabric seems rugged and there is nothing wobbly about this stroller. I am loving it, and highly recommend for the price and quality! The take-away? Pretty much as soon as I started pushing it around my kitchen, I told my husband we were getting rid of the full-size when it comes out of storage. Goodbye bulky, hello lightweight!

Update (April 12, 2016): We have had and used this stroller for two years now, frequency ranging from daily to once or twice a week, depending on activities. I am still completely happy with my purchase. All of the seams are intact, there are no broken parts and it rides as well as the day we got it. We took the front tray off ages ago (it can be right at eye level for your child, depending on his/her size). Now our second child (another 30lb toddler) uses it comfortably, and his older (3.5 yr old) brother likes to help push it. I got the hang of the folding mechanism (the slide on the upper side of the handle needs to be moved and held BEFORE compressing the red "button" on the lower side of the handle) and it folds like a dream. I can easily fold and lift it in to my van with one hand, while wrangling the kids with the other. For the majority of stroller-worthy-tasks, this stroller has been fantastic. The only thing it does not work well for is when I want to power-walk, but let's be honest,it's not designed for that. I'm 5'9", though, and at a normal sidewalk/playground/grocery store pace, I'm completely comfortable pushing it. I highly recommend this stroller - two years, two sturdy kids, and barely any visible/functional wear and tear. We're keeping this handy for baby #3!

*Be aware, there is no structure under the seat - it is essentially a fabric sling, but neither of my boys have ever complained about being uncomfortable in it; on the contrary, both have LOVED this stroller.

This may not be the best choice for your rugged daily use stroller, especially if you are off pavement a lot. It is, however, just what I was looking for: a combination of a full-feature stroller complete with baby snack tray, upright and reclined seating, cup holders for both adult and child, Package, diaper bag or purse stowage underneath, easy to both open and collapse as well as light and compact enough to load and unload from car trunk easily without straining one's back. Umbrella strollers are light but lack most of the above-mentioned features and some full feature, full-size strollers approach 40 lbs. and are big awkward, unwieldy things that may not be that bad to load in the back of an SUV, but take some back straining work to get in and out of a normal trunk. This is perfect for weekly to occasional use by a grandparent!

Product is as stated and working well.

This is a good stroller for the $ - very "plastic" but it does the job of strolling around the neighborhood. Just got it so not sure how well it will hold up in the long run. What I don't like are the plastic wheels. If you are a city person or will be using it all the time, invest in a better one with real wheels. This is fine for surburbia.

The car seat is nice and does its job. Easy to open and close. The car seat clicks in easily and works great. It's extremely light weight so no problems toting it anywhere. I just have one kind of decent size negative. When it opens, the way you open it... The tray immediately hits the ground and drags a bit. So after opening it only 2-3 times, the tray looks worn, which is a bummer.

Love the stroller. I had spent significantly more money previously on a stroller that came with the travel system and it didn't even last me a year. However, the quality of this stroller seems really good. We have been using it for a few weeks now and it is very lightweight, durable, rides smoothly on various terrain, and is easy to push and steer with only one hand. The only thing I believe could be better is that the latch does not always meet up properly when closing the stroller. It's not a big deal, I just have to manually move it to make sure it latches, but it would be easier if it just automatically clicked in place. Anyway, I am very happy with this purchase, would recommend it to anyone, and plan to be using it for years to come.

For the money, this is a great product. We bought this to travel with and it's very light, easy breakdown and up. Only complaint is that there isn't much back support. If this is going to be your #1 everyday stroller, I would recommend one of their sturdier/larger products. I would get this again as a second/travel stroller for sure.

I did a lot of research on what lightweight travel stroller to get, since my main stroller is this beast of a Graco that's hard to get in and out of the car, and I have to say that overall I'm pleased with this one. It is indeed light, and easy to push. It is NOT a one-hand fold like it purports, though, and the recline is slightly tricky to get adjusted without waking your sleeping child. For walks around the neighborhood or mallwalking, it's ideal for me, but when I need to go shopping or go on even slightly rough terrain, I go back to my Graco. This one just doesn't have enough storage space and has a much rougher ride, which makes it impossible for my daughter to nap in unless the surface I'm pushing on is very smooth.

Got this to take to the beach for the weekend. This stroller is awesome. It fits nicely in my VW Tiguans somewhat small "trunk" space with out vacation things. Looks great and is good quality. The reason for 4 stars is the kids tray cup holder is just a little bit to small for our boys sippy cups and when steering the stroller, the wheels want to go left a bit. Otherwise it's just what we need to pick up and go to the mall or vacation. We have a smaller umbrella stroller and a $300+ Graco Jogging stroller. This size is just in between them and it's perfect!**Also, some people were mentioning the reclining seat being an issue but there is a strap (pictured) on the back side of the seat that you can tighten to allow the seat to sit-up more than recline.

This is a pretty good stroller alternative for when you don't want to lug around the 2-piece stroller/car seat.That being said....the "one-hand" expand/collapse feature is a miss. Not sure if it's just the particular one I got, but doing it with one hand is simply impossible.Also worth pointing out that because of the open leg area you'll want to make sure you have a way to secure your kiddos toys (velcro straps...et al) or they'll end up on the ground.It is nice that the bottom area can accommodate quite a bit of stuff, such as a baby bag and whatever other odds and ends you might want to bring with you.

Purchased this stroller to take with us on our Disney trip. While we haven't been on the trip yet (will update once that takes place), I'm very happy already with this purchase. I bought this for my 3.5 yr old to use. It was very easy to put together. I did it by myself, and the instructions were very easy to follow. The storage basket underneath is quite large. And it is lightweight, and easy to maneuver. The mechanism to fold it up takes a bit getting used to. But once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to fold up. And because I purchased this through the warehouse deals, it was much cheaper than renting a stroller from Disney or another company in Orlando. I'm happy (so far) that I purchased!

not bad for a travel stroller. it folds easily and has good sun production. It maneuvers easily and is very lightweight. Our at home stroller is the Uppababy cruz and we found that this was a good, affordable alternate for traveling. The basket is smaller than i would like and couldn't put the diaper bag down there but instead had to remove essential items and store them in the basket instead which was annoying. i liked the tray for sippy cup/bottle and for snacks as well as for holding coffee for the ones pushing the stroller. I would also prefer if the handle bar was adjustable as it was lower and not as comfortable but again, for a travel stroller it's totally fine. A lot of the other reviews commented on the back support and i'd agree that it's flimsy but ours did not break during travel at all (on a plane ride or long drive). but it's not super strudy nor does the back recline as much as i would want. but our 15 month old was able to fall asleep in it for short periods of time. Hoping that we can use this for a couple more years at least as a travel stroller.

We bought this so we could have something light to take in and out of the car when we were out shopping instead of our heavier bugaboo. We were surprised how easy it is to maneuver. It is very light (10 lbs) and a dream to lift and push compared to the bugaboo. The basket is a fair size and easily accessible which were essential characteristics for us (however maximum capacity is 5 kg so not for heavy shopping). The cons are: the seat is rather flimsy as is the reclining mechanism-merely padded backrest supported by an adjustable strap (our daughter does not seem to mind the apparent lack of comfort though): recline is about 45 degrees at its maximum. Also closing and opening, while fairly easy, is not always smooth and requires two hands to ensure that all the parts come together. Brakes are also rather skinny and there is one on each wheel (would be easier if there was a single lever to activate both)-need a sturdy shoe to engage them. Note also that it folds flat so ends up taking up half of the trunk space of our toyota corolla. Overall good buy for the price and serves our purpose-let's see how long it will last.

Very affordable but did not work for what I had in mind. I wanted a stroller that would allow my LO to sit upright and recline flat. This stroller reclines to 130 degree. Canopy is small and the front tray is hard to remove

A bit bulky, but good for long term use since my car seat clicks into it easily.

I like the stroller. It is easy to maneuver. My main issue is with the harness. I have found it impossible to to release. Even my son has trouble with the release button. I had the stroller replaced, thinking it was a defective button. I had the same problem. I have to loosen the straps to pull my granddaughter out. Not convenient!

This stroller tips forward easily on very small bumps but it is very light and very easy to open and close

It s ok for the money we paid. It's flimsy basic and small (super compact). But you get what you pay for. Very similar to an umbrella stroller just with cup holders and padded handle.

Stroller is light weight, looks good and fits my graco infant 35lb seat. My issues with this stroller is the "sitting up" position. There isn't any way of adjusting the incline. My infant isn't quite ready to sit in a straight sitting position. And my other issue is the basket underneath. It's definitely not a large basket as other reviews mentioned.

This stroller is fine, but there are things I don't love about it. The basket below is quite small-- I have trouble fitting my purse or our bag of library books in it. The cup holders are also ridiculously small-- I don't know what adult or child cup on earth would fit in them. But my daughter seems comfortable riding in it, and it is light-weight. My husband finds that it's a little short for him to comfortably push (he's around 6 feet tall).

I ultimately decided on 3, because, while it does, in a basic way, deliver what a lightweight stroller should (simply put, convenience), I don't use it for its intended purpose (travel) because of the cons I will list.I assembled it myself in about 10 minutes, no problems, very simple.It looks great - I bought the red one, and it's a nice, bright red and true black; no fading so far (I've owned it for right at a year now).I use this stroller primarily while walking in my neighborhood and while taking my older kids back and forth to the bus stop. I use my full-size stroller when in public, because it is larger, more comfortable for my baby, and has more features.This stroller's wheels, while plastic, have stood the test of time. They're still in very good shape, despite old, bumpy asphalt being our most frequently traveled terrain.The cup holders seemed like an awesome feature on a lightweight stroller, but they're awfully small. They don't even fit a water bottle. I usually just lay a water bottle across the canopy, or put it in the impressively roomy basket underneath. The child's tray doesn't begin to fit a sippy cup, so I use it for cheerios or other baby snacks (only recommended if you clean and disinfect regularly!! LOL).The ride is smooth, and maneuverability is good. The sun shade has really great coverage, and I love the peekaboo window.As many reviewers have stated, the seat back is horrible. Truly, it is pitifully designed. My 9-lb baby's weight bent it in half. It seems to be reinforced with a flimsy piece of cardboard. The "recline" feature is a strap that you tighten or loosen, to change the angle of the seat. It doesn't recline the seat, though; it's more like it adjusts the level of SLUMP. My baby cannot sit up straight in this stroller, unless she leans forward and sits up without support. If she falls asleep, she practically hugs herself with her shoulders when I lay the seat back as far as it goes. That said, I fear that her breathing could be blocked, so I just don't let her sleep in it, if I can help it.The one-handed fold is a little tricky, but once you get used to it, it's simple. However, UNFOLDING is far more often than not a pain in the rear. Here's why: when opening the stroller from the folded position, the flimsy, bent-in-half seat back gets stuck, and it folds itself into notches and behind bars, and prohibits you from unfolding the stroller and locking it open. It took me an hour to truly figure out what in the world was keeping it from unfolding, why it happened almost every time I used the stroller, and how to quickly fix it each time I open it, so that I wasn't struggling for 15 minutes before I could put my baby in it. That is the main reason I don't travel with this stroller. It stays parked in my garage, open (thus rendering the 1-hand-fold feature useless), so I can pop the baby in and go when it's time to catch the bus.Bonus - the size of this stroller is perfect for an inexpensive, generic whole-stroller rain/wind cover. When inclement weather threatens my big kids' extracurricular activities, the baby is snug as a bug, because the cover protects the entire stroller.I kept the stroller, but I wouldn't buy it again. I'm currently looking for an affordable lightweight stroller that I can actually use for convenient travel.

we got this as a relatively inexpensive alternative to use when we dont want to take the expensive behemoth uppababy Cadillac of strollers places. the idea was if we took this to a theme park (or whatever) and it got stolen while we were on a ride it wouldn't be as painful. The stroller itself is nice and more than adequate. My complaints would be that #1 the under storage isn't all that large (hard to fit diaper bag and purse) #2 cup holder doesn't fit a majority of my kids sippy cups or my adult size cups #3 handle bars do not extend for taller parents #4 it doesn't handle off road very well anything other than flat pavement and you're going to struggle ... all of those cons i feel are to be expected for a stroller in this price range. It suits our needs but would be nice to have more bells and whistles. If you're looking for something better than the umbrella strollers yet wont break the bank then this is your stroller

I had the same issue of the center back being unsupportive and convex. If it's folded incorrectly, this will happen. The backing is meant to fold in on itself but only is one direction. If you're in a hurry and force it, it will flip and fold the opposite way resulting in the defect. I gave 3 stars because Kolcraft did replace mine; it was within the 1 year limited warranty. Customer service was super easy to work with. Now I know, I hope the second one will be just fine! I do really like the stroller because of the parent and kid trays and basket space.

What I love about this stroller is: 1) the one-handed collapse to an upright position, 2) the umbrella that actually covers my son and 3) the roomy basket underneath. But as other reviewers have mentioned... unfortunately, the back is just material over cardboard, which makes it super flimsy and not worth it. Ours got caught on something in the trunk of our car, and when I pulled on the stroller to release it, the result was that the cardboard didn't fold right after that. If the manufactureer would just figure out something more stable than cardboard, this would be an awesome stroller, and I'd be willing to pay a lot more for it.

I loved this stroller initially. When I began my search for an umbrella stroller I had four must-have features in mind: a deep basket, an extra long canopy, a tray with drink holder for my daughter, and a tray with drink holder for me. This has them all! And at a fair price.We've used this stroller almost exclusively for nearly a year now and it's been quite durable. My one complaint, and the reason for the 3 star rating, is that the back is sagging. Now, my 16mo daughter is a lightweight, not even 18lbs yet, and I have her sitting up right 87% of the time. That said, the bi-fold of the back caves when I set her in so her posture is bad and it looks very uncomfortable.The degrading around the fold of the cardboard (or whatever material they use for the filling of the back) can also interfere with closing the stroller. The back will attempt to fold out, rather than in, and will not shut. It's easy enough to push the fold in the right direction, but it took me some time to realize that it was the cause of my struggle.I wish I could give this stroller a better rating. I really did love it when we bought it. Had I reviewed immediately I'd have given it 4.5 stars (maybe even 5), as the assembly was a bit frustrating. They put lubricant on the wheels before shipping and you're to put the wheels on, I didn't see a warning of any kind about it and ended up cleaning it out of one wheel, before I realized what it was intended for, because it had got on my finger and several other things.The issue with the back started about 2-3 months ago. Up until that point it's a great stroller, and I'd recommend it if you don't intend to use it daily. If you are going to put some miles on it, I'd say buyer beware.

For all around functionality, I would give it 3 or 4 stars and would have been nice to have had an intermediate position for the baby's seat back between vertical upright and laying back, the quick take-down for placing it in a vehicle was awesome, but for assembly directions, no stars at all -- the manual is next to worthless -- three languages and there is the repetition of "on certain models." Certain models -- why not this model. I have constructed model kits, model railroads, numerous computers, worked on automobiles and home renovations and this was a royal PITA based upon the tri-lingual directions with the continual admonishment of "on certain models" with no indication of the model to which the directions are referring -- the assembler must figure out which model they have in relation to each section of directions. Had I not been handy with tools and the logical positioning of pieces relative to each other by appearance for fit, and had to depend upon just the horrible directions, it would have been virtually impossible to assemble.

This stroller is just what I was looking for. Something lightweight and compact enough to still have room for a few bags in the back of the car. Luckily my son is sitting pretty well because the seat has 2 settings - straight up or almost all the way reclined. It truly sits straight up and the recline is not laying flat, it is slightly elevated. The tray comes off, but does not pivot...so if you take one side off the other pops off as well. Overall it folds and opens easily and gets the job done.Update!! After having this stroller for a few months I already need a new one. My son is 9 months, 22 lbs and 30" tall. His head hits the top of the seat which is a bar. The bar pushes his head forward and he always seems so uncomfortable in it. They should really post a height limit and not just a weight limit. Also, the cup holder for the adult always pops off. The one for the child is useless because it's so hard to push on or take off since it doesn't pivot. Wishing I had never made this purchase.

Handle broke after 2 uses. Not sure if it was the airports fault or design but I know a friend who had the same thing happen. Now it just doesn't stay locked closed. Still useable but annoying.

The stroller is easy to assemble and it is easy to set up. The problem that I have with it is that it doesn't work well with the rear facing car seat. The removable children's tray should be permanent. Mine doesn't snap on very well and therefore the car seat doesn't always connect correctly. I wouldn't recommend this stroller for anyone with an infant.

There are only 2 reclining positions and not really comfortable for my 10 mo old son. Hence returned the item.

Mine used to get stuck near the seating cushion upon unfolding and folding it which was quite annoying. However it could just be the faulty product I got and not necessarily everyone would face the same problem but next problem which could definitely be considered a poor product design is the size of the cup holders specially the one on the front tray.Seriously Kolcraft!!! Is it a rocket science to understand that the cup holder should be big enough to hold most of the Sippy cups or milk bottles or snacks cup where most of them available in the market are of same dimensions specially from the circumference??? My kiddo wanted to put his sippy or snacks cup in that cup holder but couldn't do it due to its small size which was quite annoying for him and for us too. I have returned the product anyway.

This stroller has good intentions but feels like a cheaply made product. The logo up top washed off in a week. The foam covers on the top where your hands are on started breaking off after two weeks. Every little bump you hit on the sidewalk is noticeable and your toddler will be unhappy experiencing it. Obviously many people like this stroller but I am returning it and would rather spend $40 more for something better.

I was very excited to find this stroller on amazon because it gets good reviews and isn't too expensive for an umbrella stroller. I like that it has the sunshade that comes up and over the back of the stroller as well as a tray for drinks etc. The lower basket and adult drink caddy comes in handy too. It was easy to put together.COMPLAINTS: I am returning this stroller because the back support folds in the middle and my toddler (22 lbs) sinks back into the stroller no matter how tight I pull on the vinyl strap. It almost needs a second support strap in the middle for this reason. The back support is weak because when you close the stroller up it folds the back support in half. This is a horrible design and so I'll be looking for another stroller that can support my child's back.

This stroller had everything I was looking for! Folds small with one hand, stands on its own when folded, multi recline positions, snack tray, generous sun shade and very affordable. It was super easy to put together and worked great for the first two times I used it. Smooth ride for such a light stroller. Then it kind of got stuck in this not really opened but not really closed position. I contacted customer service and they were great! Sent me a new one right away. I got my new stroller put it together and started by using it just around my house and on the patio - I wanted to make sure it wasn't another defective one. It opens and closes just fine but my girl is just not comfortable in it. The back is made of cardboard and she always appears to be slouched even though she can sit up fine on her own. She starts getting fussy within about 10 minutes of being in it. The other issue is that the fabric seems to stain easily (mentioned by another reviewer). I gave her only water, Cheerios, and a teething cracker while she was in it and the seat looks stained. I'm very disappointed- this stroller was perfect on paper. If kolcraft re designs the cardboard seat back this would be a perfect stroller! But till that happens this one is going back and my search continues...

The back of the seat on my stroller seems to be bending backwards so when we try to fold it with one hand, it gets caught and bends the wrong way. We have to use our other hand to push the back of the seat forward so that it with fold properly. This is also an issue because when my son sits in it, he is slouching because the whole back of the seat curves back instead of being straight.

This stroller was good for a couple of months.Pros:... Low price... Very lightweight... Awesome canopy... Reasonable storage basket, esp for umbrella strollerCons:... Parent tray is hard to attach. It just snaps onto two nubs, one on each side, but I could only get it on one side. I think if I had gotten some sort of tool and forced it, it might have snapped on. But I didn't, and every time I folded the stroller up the tray fell off. Minor complaint, though.... Access to storage basket--Storage basket has rigid frame that keeps a stuffed diaper bag from being able to fit easily, even though the actual volume of the basket will fit the bag. Minor complaint, since it's pretty good storage amount for an umbrella.... Cup holders are a little small. My 500ml nalgene bottle fits, but you have to squeeze it in each time. Anything bigger around won't fit.... Waist straps are not easy to adjust. They are double threaded, so you have to pull out both layers several inches, then jimmy them around (involving some guess and check) until it's looser, then slip the layers back in the the buckle. Sorry, it's hard to describe. But I almost gave up on this stroller because we couldn't figure out how to loosen the straps! Even when we did figure it out, it takes a couple minutes each time you want to do it. Not good.... It's easy to fold up wrong. At first it was pretty easy to fold, although definitely not with only one hand as advertised. Then I think my husband tried to fold it one time and wasn't doing it correctly, and it never recovered. It's such low quality that things bend and break before it will resist being folded wrong. Other strollers just won't fold until you are doing it right, unless you use excessive force or something, which he was not doing. Now it takes a few minutes to fold because you have to adjust things to make sure it folds correctly, and Now the cardboard back is buckled such that it doesn't support my son's back, much like other reviewers have said. That was the real deal breaker for me, and we've stopped using it.I'm not sure if the cardboard buckling was from the folding problem or not, since others had the same problem. Either way, I'm a bit wary of umbrella strollers now because I'm not sure if they will have the cardboard back!!

Package was damaged when received.I ordered two strollers and for one of them, I was unable to install cup holder. The screw was very tight that I couldnt fit cup holder. I have to use one the strollers without cupholder.

Bought this 2 months ago. I was all excited about the price until recently when I try to fix it to finally use it. Couldn't get the knob On the back wheels to snap. Decided I was going to return it just to fine it is impossible to unassemble the front wheels. Now I'm stuck with a stroller I can't use or get back in the box.

I did a lot of research and everything about this stroller was exactly what I was looking for. This was the only one that has all the features I wanted, so I simply bought it online without testing it at the store. The one I received seemed to have a problem with the wheels. It looked fine when I was testing at home but when I used it outside for the first time, it kept moving to the left without any force. It was very hard to keep it straight and almost impossible to make a right turn. My husband who can fix simple problems on many products took a look at it but he did not find why this happened and could not repair it. I returned it and got a replacement. I was thinking to get another kind because I had a bad feeling about this product by receiving a defective but as I said this stroller was perfect for me on its features. The replacement I got did not have a problem with the wheels so I used it for the first time when I traveled with a taxi. When I was caming back home and trying to fold the stroller to get in a cab, it did not close. I spent 20 minutes on the street but it just did not close whatever I did. It opened and closed normally before this but it broke down in one hour of use or was just defective from the first place. People stopped and helped me but they could not close it either. I gave up to fold it and loaded it unfolded on the big cab. After I went home I asked my husband to close it, he could not either. Even if he could, I would not want to deal with such a problem any more in future so I had to return it.

This is an attractive, lightweight stroller that, unfortunately, has a serious design flaw. The back of the seat is designed to fold in half to fold the stroller. But when my grandson sits in the stroller, the same breaking point causes his back to be insufficiently supported. It causes him discomfort. I have contacted Kolcraft and requested a replacement, citing others who have had this problem. I said that it was a known issue. They replied asking for photos or a short video--without the child--to document the problem. I'll submit an update to this review to report how the problem is resolved.I'm giving it one star because the problem with the seat back ultimately renders the stroller unusable if you care about the child's health and comfort.

Bought this as a 2nd stroller to take on vacation. Put it together, used it once to walk a few blocks at home. Took it to the airport and the damn thing refused to open. It was stuck and we were there struggling with 2 older kids and a baby and luggage etc. When we finally got it open, whatever support the back was snapped and it was no longer straight so my baby has no back support. I know it was cheap but really, I thought, after lots of research, that it would serve as a travel stroller to keep in the car but nope. I love the features: baby tray, lots of space for bag, space for my drink, etc. But I can't use it - piece of junk.

Complete waste of money! Huge design flaw where it folds up along a horizontal seam in the middle of the back support. We watched the company video, followed the instructions and still had the back support blow out after the first fold. This meant we had to tie a strap around the back to hold the thing up enough to support my only 16 lb 9 month old. Otherwise she was slumped forward at an uncomfortable angle. Throwing this thing in the trash now.

Do not buy this thing. The back is made of cardboard thinner than the amazon box it came in. After the first use it caved in and we bought a new one. What a piece of junk.

The back is made out of cardboard and won't support your child. It arrived damage and I put my child in it thinking it was okay, but she keeps slouching and is uncomfortable. Do not buy.
