Held up through 45 mph winds and rain on a Montain on the lake !!!
August 6, 2017
I don't write many reviews but I had to with this ! I went camping in the mountains on a lake in July it was very cold and windy the week we went camping plus being near the lake with a mountain behind us made the wind worse ! We put up the tent in 20 mins really easy from a YouTube video , And the wind was so bad it sounded like 100 shopping bags ratteling in the wind with 30-45 mph winds that thing held up nothing caved in and we stayed dry with the tarp over the tent that came with this , the only thing is u can feel the wetness if you touch the inside of the tent Ana there was a drip from condensation but we were also in a really bad wind rain storm ! This tent really holds true to its name , the weather master ! I was thankful we went with this one due to the weather ! And such a good price !
Tried and Tested
July 21, 2017
Just had a chance to test out this tent out on a week long camping trip. There were 2 of us camping on this trip and we found the tent to be spacious and relatively easy to set up once you figure out how its done. We had it set up in under 20 minutes each time after a practise run in the back yard. I'm not sure where you would fit 6 people, like the packaging suggests, unless you know each other well, or want to know someone well :) We experienced a variety of weather, ranging from overnight lows of 5 degrees (Celcius), high winds, heavy rains, as well as heat and humidity over 29 degrees. Two of the wall seams leaked a little in the middle of the tent but that happened after a substantial downpour and the amount of water in the tent afterwards was less than 1/2 cup. The fly was securely fastened and we had no issues, even with the high winds. The screened porch is a welcome bonus for anyone camping in buggy areas and allows you to leave footwear outside without it getting wet. The small corner zip was perfect for feeding an extension cord into the tent. We wish we had brought a heater the first few nights and then a fan for the last part of the trip. A few things we didn't like about this tent - there are only 2 mesh pockets sewn into the interior of the tent and they are on different walls at different heights. The instructions provided are not the best but it's straight forward if you've ever had any experience setting up tents. I highly recommend doing a test run before taking it on your trip unless puzzles are your thing.
We just LOVED IT! Spent a week in it
July 27, 2016
We just LOVED IT! Spent a week in it, it rained a whole lot on and off. Even tho we did not tie down the fly the rain stayed out except in one tiny spot...our fault. All our gear was dry as could be, the screenroom made a fantastic "mud room" it kept the inside nice and neat taking boots off in there. The door! The door is a revelation easy to open and close when loading and unloading with mosquitos around.. door shuts behind you and then you can run your hand along inside to slide a well placed flap to keep it lightly secured aided by velcro. It also zips and because of the design it does not get caught up in the fabric as easily as many tents I have used.
This is a NICE tent.

I've used all kinds of backpacking tents, good and bad. Never have I bought a "car camping" tent until now. I wasn't sure about how I'd like it or the craftsmanship of the product. Boy, this is one nice tent. Super strong, went up in 30 minutes on first try, stable and robust. I swapped out the plastic stakes, (per reviews), with long steel stakes, and you should too. When I first got the box, (in two days!), it was huge. This thing is like 4' long shipped, but it's about 3.5' in it's bag. The bag is also robust with great handles and zipper. For me, that's a huge bonus. Nothing worse than getting a sweet tent, only to have a crappy carry bag.I had to air the thing out for about 4 hours to get the dead mouse smell out of mine, that wasn't a dead mouse, but some form of off-gassing. I took everything out of the bag and noticed how nice the fly was: taped seams and zippers! YES!!!!! About the zippers in this thing: Totally strong and smooth with zero snagging.I really like the floor of this tent. Extremely durable, bathtub style. This bad boy will stay dry. Not sure there's a need for a footprint with this tent. A dog would not tear holes in this floor. The poles are strong and they set up easily, with a spring clip on the bottom of the tent that goes into the ground side hole of the pole.Interior floor measures: 9x12'. Screened room measures: 6x8.5' and I'm 6'2" and can stand up in the portion nearest the interior wall. This will be a very comfortable tent, well made, easily handle the elements, and quality all around.
what a great tent for my purpose
July 20, 2015
bought this tent after my old one had a tree branch kill it. what a great tent for my purpose. i am a car camper on trips with the wife. this review is based on a camping trip to Bryce Canyon July 16-19 2015. tent is easy to set up with two people, but one person might have a hard time setting it up. the first two nights were beautiful, but cold. the third night we got hit with a mean monsoon storm around 3am with thunder and lightning and huge rain drops. the tent did not leak at all. be sure to scotch guard the seams at the very least. i did not scotch guard, but i always recommend it with new tents. i wanted to see if it held up like other reviews that i have read, and it did for me. if you don't scotch guard, you can touch the wet tent from the inside and start a condensation type of leak, but this is typical for tents that i have purchased in the price range and size and even after spraying it, it could still touch leak, but not as likely as water would roll right off and not have a chance to catch the little ridges of the fabric and run inside. i was confident to return to sleep once i examined the seems and corners for leaks and sleep well with the rain falling hard on the tent. i only attached the guylines to the tent hold down stakes(i did not use the stakes that came with the tent) instead of spreading them further out since we had three kids running around the campsite and it held in the monsoon winds with out a budge when i checked them in the morning. the door on the tent is awesome. it makes it so easy to get in and out of the tent. i hated my old tents zipper only door and would avoid going in and out because im lazy with the zipper or kids would never close it and then BOOM, bugs in the tent. the door closes automatically from gravity and seems to seal well when just held shut with gravity and Velcro. i noticed no bugs, yea!
Spacious.. Roomy.. Comfy.. Worth Getting!!!!
August 7, 2014
Just got back from a four night trip up at Big Basin Redwoods State Park in California. And it was worth every cent. Very spacious inside the sleeping quarters and screened room. Sometimes a little bit difficult to zip and unzip the hinged door due to the weather guards which is no biggie in my book. However the second night there we had gotten a little bit of rain (thank goodness I put the rain fly on the moment I set up the tent) way early in the morning and it held up and repelled exceptionally well, mind you.. I haven't sprayed it yet with silicone sealant and when it rained it was rather light. Eventually when the season changes I'll put it to the test. In the meantime I strongly recommend this tent. But to give everyone the heads up... Its spacious and roomy with two adult and one child and bags of clothes. I can see at most comfortably sleeping like four to five full size adults if you plan on keeping bags of clothes in the tent.

Love!

Great tent!So roomy..easy to put up. I love the screened in option for "porch" We use it to store most of our stuff separate from our sleeping area. My favorite part is the see through roof- if you are at the right campsite, the view of stars from your bed is unbelievable.
Great tent
January 5, 2017
This tent is indeed roomy. I am glad that I followed the advice to set it up BEFORE going camping. It took a while to figure out how the pieces go together. But once I figured it out, it was just as fast as a two person tent my friends were using. However, I did need the assistance of another person. By my self it would have been a bit of a challenge. But if you are using a tent this large, surely you are not planning to sleep by yourself. :-)
Heres everything you need to know and a safety danger.
September 9, 2016
I go camping every other weekend and owned many tents used it enough to leave a thorough review.• It's pretty much impossible to set up by yourself, but can be done easily with a friend in 10-15 minutes.• Most tents you don't need to use the spikes to anchor it in the ground, but you have to with this one.I camp in the mountains where the ground is usually made of rock and it's impossible to anchor it down correctly.• The front entrance is not very tall so you have to bend down every time you want to get in.I wish the front door was raised higher. I am 5'11" and can stand in the main room without it touching my head, but getting through the door is a pain.• If you have dogs they can easily push right through the door even when it's zipped all the way. It zips to an upside down T shape and all it takes is a little pressure and they can unzip it themselves just by walking through it. I have a huge lab and he found out how to open it the first night. They can also open and come through from the outside when it's zipped all the way up which means coyotes or anything else could enter if they wanted. It doesn't make you feel safe when sleeping knowing any animal can come through, which is why I sleep with a pistol by my pillow in this tent.• I snapped on of the skinny poles the first day, but this isn't the first time I've done this with a tent. When I try to set it up with my 7 year old daughter, it's very hard and I normally break something. Nothing a little duct tape can't fix.But besides that, this tent is awesome, especially for the price.Kids love it and it feels like you are sleeping in a hotel outside. It's got a ton of room and didn't leak when it rained. If you have kids I would say to get this because they will have tons of fun just playing in it.If you are getting it for yourself or to use with one other person, it's kind of over kill.
Pleased!!
May 25, 2016
For the price we couldn't be happier with this purchase! Great for weekend camping. Lots of room, since I camp with a cat and a dog, it was nice for them to be able to move around. The material is thin,so I wouldn't recommend for extreme weather, but thrilled for my needs. Easy to put up and take down with mesh compartments inside, very pleased.
Great quality, spacious, easy to use, and no leaks!
October 14, 2015
Great, spacious. easy to assemble. I'm 6'1 and could stand comfortably in the main bedroom. We had tworking full Coleman cots with side tables on them and still a wide space on either side. The front room was lower, but a great feature for storing all our stuff/mud room etc. We loved all the open window options and the roof for star gazing etc. Well made tent. We used it for the first time camping at Red Top Mountain state park in GA. Second night, had a very heavy thunderstorm with excessive rain. Tent stayed dry! (The roof cover worked very well) It was a good test. We really loved this tent. Not necessarily an 8 person size....you'd have to get really creative. Lol
This is the tent you want!
August 16, 2015
This tent is amazing!!!! I read the reviews before purchasing, so I was aware that there may be a structural issue with a sag on one side. I did not experience that. The structure was perfect. We camped for 7 days in Vermont, on a somewhat rainy week. I sprayed the fly and exposed seams with waterproofing spray after I set it up and stayed completely dry all week. 4 of us set up the tent in about 10 minutes. My sister, a friend and I took it down, and got it back in the bag in about 15 minutes (minus the time it took to take off the fly and hang it to dry). The tent was so roomy and wonderful. We've all camped there for about 27 years, and the tent got rave reviews from all 15 campers. I definitely recommend this!!!

A waterproof house made of nylon!
August 20, 2017
Impressive tent! We stayed dry in the heaviest downpour ever in Yellowstone park. As large as a Motel 6 room, there are acres of space to stow your gear, even with a queen mattress inside. Plenty of windows, a swing door, and a front porch, many features to customize your new home. Set up is complex but gets easier each time. Pictograph instructions are terrible thus the loss of a rating star. Rainfly in particular was unclear how the side tensioners work. Other campers remarked that it is a cool thing to behold. Great value, Coleman quality.
You're better off buying a tote to keep it and all ...
May 17, 2017
Setup is a bit of a bear, but once it's up it's quite roomy and decent. It definitely helps to have a level site. Forget about putting it back in the original bag ever again though. You're better off buying a tote to keep it and all of the parts in. I would have preferred an "instant-tent" but it seems they no longer make the one I used to have. Still, one person can set this up in about 25 minutes. Two people can do it in less than 10.
Love this tent
May 11, 2017
Love this tent. The set up was super easy with the color coded poles. It's the perfect size for me, my partner and my dog. We did use a queen size bkiw up mattress. Also had s 4 foot table near the screen door for our stuff to sit on, like lanterns and glasses and hygiene stuff. My only issue with the tent is condensation built up between the rain fly and the screen on the roof. The water then dripped all over my bed and bedding.
Pretty good tent, great door
July 25, 2016
Fairly lightweight tent. Not sure what the weather master moniker is about. Our first one had holes in it, so we returned it. The second one was pretty good, but the rain fly leaked a little. I applied some seam sealer and hope all will be good. The door is brilliant. To not have to unzip constantly is a great feature. It was hot in the tent when the sun was out. Ventilation seems good, but still the tent can get hot if you want to nap in the daytime. The stakes that come with the tent were useless for hard ground. For sandy soil, they would be fine (except the wire stakes for the rain fly. Those are useless)The poles work well and seem real solid.I am happy with this tent assuming it quits leaking.
Great family tent with just about everything we were looking for.
January 5, 2016
This tent can be a challenge to set up, but it's good quality. We've taken it out on several occasions, two of which saw a decent amount of rain, and there were no puddles in the tent. The floor and bottom edges of the walls seem well made. We like the door feature, which is great for kids that are in-and-out all day long, but wish the windows had more of an overhang to keep them open without worry if there are showers in the forecast. The screen room is nice, but I wish there were some privacy panels for it. Honestly, we need to try and use this feature better, since we've typically just used it for a storage area for shoes, coolers, etc. The divider inside is great to have with a family, and the button connectors work okay - when rolling & fastening the divider when not in use, it could be more neatly connected to the side of the tent (not really a big deal). It can be a challenge to set up the tent without the rain fly touching the top of the interior part, but with two people, it's not that hard. The directions are clear, and the poles are pretty good quality and easy to identify (if you have some experience setting up tents before). We purchased a 10x12 tarp for ground cover. For less than a plane ticket or a night and a half in a hotel room, you can get the family out camping.
Very nice, just needs prepped
July 8, 2015
I was a little concerned with this purchase after reading quite a few reviews mentioning this tent leaking like a sieve. If I'm being honest, however, my experience with it so far leads me to believe those folks just didn't do their due diligence on waterproofing. When the tent arrived I immediately set it up in the yard, seam sealer and camp dry spray was flying, and I was good to go. I left it up for about a week of constant summer storms and never got more water inside than a handful of paper towels could mop up completely. The only areas water was coming in were under the windows where the toggles attach, which is hard to deal with because you're fighting osmosis. With the fly up and the guy wires properly tightened and the awnings propped correctly, it holds up very well. It's definitely not something to hit the Appalachian trail with but very nice for a family camping trip. One note I do want to make, because it was very confusing even after reading reviews and answered questions here: regarding the covered exterior area, the netting can be completely zipped across the bottom but the solid sheet does not. So wind can get in through there but you can keep critters out.

A little big, but still great.
June 14, 2017
Overall I love this tent. My only issue with it is that I wish they made one a little smaller (like maybe a 6 person tent) that still had the two rooms. I really only wanted this tent so that I could have an entrance area that was still inside the tent to change shoes and leave dirty backpacks, etc. It worked great for that, but we definitely had more space than we needed. Unfortunately the only tent options I found are small one room tents or monster sized. But hey, if you're going to a huge campsite, it works. It's also fairly easy to setup, but having 2 people certainly helps just because of how large it is.Not sure how this would hold up in a windy site. I would probably be reluctant to take it anywhere like that. As we were setting it up it felt like it might not be able to handle a whole lot, but I'm honestly not sure. Aside from that, it rained a little bit on our trip and no leaks.

August 1, 2016
I have used this tent once while I camped in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We had a very rough rainy storm while we were there and it held up quite nicely. We only had small rain droplets in three of the corners (two of which were in the front screen room). Putting the tent together was quite easy for a tent. It does take two people however, but it still only took about 25 minutes the very first time. We put a queen sized air mattress that is about 2.5 ft high in the large room. We pumped it up outside of the tent and it barely fit through through the doors. There was enough space for a couple of feet on each side of the mattress. The windows open up nicely to allow a great breeze. The front area is nice to put luggage and a table for odds and ends, but I wish the height matched the larger second room. The large room pops up nicely and is 8 or so feet tall. I'm 5'11'' and I had to duck slightly in the first room, but it is still tall enough to stand. Overall, it is very well made and it held up to a good U.P. storm.
This tent is Amazing. It's a portable Cabin more than a Tent!

Wenzel Klondike Tent - 8 PersonThis is only the 3rd tent I've ever put up and stayed in in my life so I'm relatively new to camping but the following is my opinion on how well this tent works for a newbie camper like me. I'm still looking for something a bit smaller for backpacking so please feel free to leave me your opinions on some cost effective options. I purchased this one for my family to use, that would be me and my husband (30 something adults) and two teenagers.I LOVE this tent! having a screened in porch with an attached floor is amazing!!!!!!!! No bugs or frogs in our food! I love the space. This tent is great for summer time due to all the ventilation and mesh and thin walls. I would imagine due to it's size and thin fabric it wouldn't be a good choice for winder time or colder areas. For setup, I know several said that it was hard to setup but my husband and I did it our first time in 15 minutes and it was relatively easy to do. I can see how it would be difficult with one person because you have to lift the dome part of the bigger/back room up into the air so if you are going to be alone it could be challenge.Another concern for this tent was that the porch is a good 6 to 8 inches shorter in height than the bedroom. You can fully stand up in the bedroom and move around but I had to bend my head in porch and I'm only 5'4. :-) But the porch is mostly to be used as a storage area and sitting room anyway.I caught this tent on sale for $120 and it was worth every penny! Even full price at $160 I think it would be worth it.
Spacious, well designed/assembled tent for car camping for 4-5 people
July 4, 2016
We are occasional (1-2x per year) car-campers with a decades-long history of doing this. As such, we've gone through a number of tents. What we are looking for in a tent is pretty specific.- It needs to fit at least 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids in the range of 8-13 years) comfortably. In reality, this means that a tent needs to be rated for 6 adults- Ideally. the tent can be set up and broken down by 1 adult or 1 adult + 1 child in no more than 15-20 minutes- The tent (including frame) must be sturdy and not deteriorate when in storageSo after pitching it in my backyard, leaving it overnight, and breaking it up again, here's my assessment.POSITIVES:- After the first struggles of "which pole goes where", setting it up was easy and could be done by 1 adult if needed. Total first-time setup time was about 25 minutes. This means that next time, I can probably do it in about 15-20 minutes.- The design is good. It provides a separation of a "living"/"storage" space from the "sleeping" space. This is important if you want to keep your sleeping space relatively clean / dirt free.- The quality and assembly appeared to be good as well. The seams were waterproofed and the sown-in tarp goes up a few inches onto the wall, which will prevent rainwater entering the tent- Plenty of instructions. Sawn-in instructions in the storage bag on how to pitch the tent. Paper inserts on how to fold it. How to avoid moisture. Et cetera.- The window covered were well designed and can be stored in a pocket at the bottom of the window- It was easy to get the tent with all accessories back into the storage bag afterwards. No problems at all.- The rear (sleeping) space was large enough to fit 2 queen air mattresses.NEUTRAL:- It was hard to get the walls of the tent to be wrinkle-free. This is a cosmetic issue more than anything else.- It's definely a "car camping" tent. It's too heavy for backpacking.NEGATIVES:- The thick, yellow plastic tent pins came loose overnight. There was some wind (variable, less than 15 mph) overnight but nothing that would merit special caution.- The dark colored rain fly made it extremely hot in the tent during the day, in the sun, even with all windows opened.- Minor item - it lacks a hole to pull an electric cable through. Less important with the abundance of cheap portable chargers for our electronics, but still something we have used once in a while.(Note - No special consideration was received for writing this unsolicited review. I purchased this article on amazon.com after seeing it advertised in an email I received. When I purchase items, I always comparison-shop on and off Amazon and I do read reviews. If you thought this review was useful, please click the appropriate button above!)
fabulous with a few minor design flaws
May 24, 2016
We have now used this tent for two years. We bought it because our family was growing and we'd be doing more state park camping versus backpacking and needed more than an ultralight tiny tent. We set up our air mattress in the main section - it fits a queen comfortably with plenty of room on the side for suitcases and whatnot. The first year we just had a pack n play and a chair for nursing in the front section - we'd just zip up the front screened room at night. This past year we added a second little one and so we had a pack n play on one side of the front section and a toddler cot on the other and still had room in front of those to put the kid's luggage/diapers, etc. It has worked GREAT for our family and we love being able to have the front park just screened in during the day so there can be a breeze and the kiddos don't get too hot during naps. The large windows in the main part are great for that too. We survived a quick moving, but pretty vicious wind/storm system that blew in and out quickly no problem. Although the wind whipping the sides scared our toddler. Which brings me to...The cons: we are experienced tent campers and have set up all manner of tents between us but it is pretty much impossible to get this tent set up with all the walls taunt. There is always a wave somewhere. That said, it doesn't bother us too much, but it seems that it is just a design flaw. It also took our little one (who was 9 months and a pro walker at the time) a while to figure out how to get over the room divider without falling flat on his face. He's 2 now and still sometimes catches himself. I know its intent was to completely seal off the two areas, but I could survive without the bottom being fully sealed to eliminate that tripping hazard.
Excellent value
August 13, 2015
Excellent tent- Kept us warm and dry on a wet family camping excursion.Pros- We stayed completely dry in hard non-stop rain from 1 am to 8 am. My hubby sprayed the fly and treated seams with silicone water guard spray. We were suppose to put on the spray 24 hours prior but did not have more than 3-4 hours after application before it started raining- that made me paranoid and I woke up every couple hours to check for leaking. Next time I would be a lot more relaxed about sleeping through the rain as it held up very well. - spacious tent, ceiling in actual tent (not screen room) is good- I am 5"10"-good valueCons- highly recommend buying tent stake kit, the stakes it comes with are quite flimsy for that size tent.- Screen room is a nice bonus but ceiling is low. I cooked breakfast in there because of the rain and could not stand straight which made it a bit uncomfortable.Overall excellent tent for the price, most important is that I can stay dry if it rains but I do recommend heavier stakes to ensure tent stays grounded in high wind.

Nice tent with some caveats.
September 26, 2017
Very attractive tent but reviews from other people were spot on. Instructions were lame and it was hard to set up but I've only done it once with help. It is imperative I be able to set it up alone so hopefully practice will make it easier. Disappointed in screen "porch" because sides slope too much so rain (which we experienced) comes straight through the mesh. This tent will be used for fair weather camping so complaints by some regarding this and the open screen top letting in cold air will not be a factor. Not sure how the manufacturer expects to sleep 6 people! One queen air bed leaves the perfect amount of living area but it would be impossible to fit two queen beds - it would become a bouncy house with no room on the sides lol. With all that being said the tent is very well constructed and should last a long time. Door frame feature was nice and windows were perfect. I also loved being able to step on the opening and sweep dirt right out without using a dust pan. Might just burn the box on my next trip and keep the tent.
Leaking thru the seams
August 18, 2017
It could be a good tent. I like the design. Thats why i ordered it.I used it in a two week camping vacation. The biggest problem is the leaking. I dont know why it is called weathermaster. There should be no water inside my tent every time there is a little rain. It is not much, but other tents do much better. The second problem is the setup: In principle it is straight forward and easy but one step is failing easily. Some poles of the rainfly are quite hard to insert and the coresponding eyelets are not strong enough. So they easily break. The 3rd drawback is the missing zipper on the bottom of the wall to the screened part of the tent. One can only close the screen, so no insects can enter the tent but cold air.It would be easy for coleman to fix these problems. The Pros:- Good design- very nice door!- Big enough for a 4 person family in two queen sized airbeds (6 persons might fit if you sqeeze them into the tent)- Good wenting- If there is no rain and you have a warm night you can sleep without rainfly and see the stars.
Great family tent
July 29, 2017
We just set it up which was very easy for two of us to do. We decided to set it up at home and weather proof before bringing it on a trip. The only issue is one of the polls is missing a hole where the hook for the rain fly should go. Other than that it's just what we were looking for.
Good tent for the money but needs some preparation in order to get it ready for it's first use!!
May 30, 2017
Really great size tent we really enjoyed it and it is very sturdy unfortunately when we set it up we found a year on the front corner so we are exchanging it. Also DO NOT GO OUT WITHOUT FIRST WATERPROOFING IT AND SEAM SEALING!! We went camping for memorial weekend and it rained pretty good, the tent was leaking in at least 5 different places some much worse than others. Also the fact that it doesn't have a zipper to hold down the solid fabric to the porch area was anointing because it can not be very easily unzipped. Over all we like the tent for the price but when we receive our replacement we will definitely be sealing it and adding Velcro to the outer flap of the porch fabric. And I highly recommend picking up some metal stakes while your at it because the plastic ones are silly!! It was super easy to put up all alone as a 9 month pregnant women simple and easy follow instructions at least coming from someone who has put up plenty of tents in my time.
A comfortable tent but not easy to put up
April 21, 2017
I can't open a bottle of catsup; but somehow I bent one of the metal poles so badly the first time I set the tent up that I will have to replace it! It took me (70 years old with Parkinson's and low blood pressure) 4 hours to get it up. If my husband hadn't come out to help once I figured out where the poles went (It's uncertain which pole goes where the first time; I'll label them next time!) I couldn't have gotten it up. It definitely takes 2 people, and my husband has little patience with that sort of thing.
It is just an okay tent.
May 6, 2016
After using this for about 2 years now, I can say that overall this tent is just okay. Not the best, but I got this for $150.00 at the time so it's all right. I would probably not pay over $200, look elsewhere. Don't be fooled by the cool door this has.Pros:- good amount of room all around. I'm 5'8" and there is plenty of room to stand.- Like this door, it impresses many people- protects from rain well- Fun project to set up with othersCons:- A pain to set up compared to other tents. This tent must be staked down to at least support itself, otherwise it will fall over like dominoes.- when tempertures gets below 45, it can get a bit chilly- needs more than 2 pocket compartments though- door not big enough. I'm a large fellow, and the door is just barely big enough for me to comfortably to pass through. They should have made it a square instead of a half circle (more area).

sets up relatively quickly and easy. Was a hole in the back left corner of tent when first set up. Camping trip was within a couple of days so just put a piece of duct tape over it and it seemed to be fine. First night we set up on camping trip, had a pretty good storm come through. Main tent held up ok, but the screened in portion had to be physically held up. All stakes were in and ropes tight. Water did come in the front part of the tent since the windows zip up about 2 inches over the window it is covering, but the top of the flap that covers the opening doesn't zip, so the slack on the top of the flap allows water to come through. We had 5 people in this tent and probably could have slept another 5 in the front part. Plenty of room, just a few engineering and design issues which I think they should address. Overall, good value and spacious.p.s. The storm we had was a high wind, and heavy rain so I imagine a lot of tents would have performed similarly.
I both liked it and didnt like it
September 25, 2016
I was conflicted on this tent. I both liked it and didnt like it. What really atracted me to this tent was the full front screened porch with zip up walls and a floor. This was incredibly convenient as a buffer zone going into the sleeping area and as storage space. It also provided a nice area to sit and read etc when the bugs were being especialy bad. The tent also had great airflow, remaining reasonably cool on all but the hottest days. The tent is also nice and tall with plenty of floor space which alowed us to put in a queen size bed, side tables, and personal items with still plenty of room to spare. It was great to be able to walk around in this tent without having to crouch over etc. Setup was a little complicated and youd never want to try and do it by yourself.I did not like that the zip up walls and windows in the tent did not zip up all the way. They zip up on the sides but not on the top meaning that in a strong windy storm the panels have a tendency to bow/blow inward at the top alowing water to mist in. Also the the center circular door seperating the sleeping area from the porch is huge making for easy entry/exit but it only has a single zipper making it tedious to open and close, having to zip/unzip 12ft or more of circular zipper every time you want to go in or out of the sleeping area. It is also lacking in a cord port, meaning i had to run the extension cord through the doors themselves to have power inside the tent which should be standard in any modern tent. Overall it was a pretty nice fair weather tent but i would be worried about using it in a very strong wind and rain storm, you probably wouldnt stay dry.

Would work for some but not a great choice for my purposes as a single mom with young children. New to tent camping, liked size, appearance, interior height and price when purchasing. Immediately learned a few things when I set it up at home, it is not a freestanding tent, wants to fold down on itself unless it is staked down. Secondly the room divider is elevated about 4 inches from the floor, kids tripped over this repeatedly. Third, porch room is not full height so lots more crouching than I would prefer. Took out camping for a 2-day rainy trip in Florida and learned a couple more things. Set-up not hard put really needs 2 people, once to hold the center elevated while tent side poles are put in and secondly to put on rain fly. The front door to the porch has a center zipper down (2-direction would have been better) and two zippers at the bottom that zip in. These catch the fabric easily and need two hands and careful opening and closing. Hard with 2 kids going in and out all the time. Second night we had a pounding 5 hour rain and I was impressed with how well the top and sides of tent protected against rain. Had a river of water come in the back of tent because I forgot to stake down two loops on each side of back vent. Whole floor and bottom of beds were wet. Expect that wouldn't happen if staked down. Had small amout of water on floor in front porch. That was biggest concern. Next day after i dried out tent took off fly and was ready to pack it up it rained a quick 5 minutes in the sunshine. Try as I could I could not get the fly on by myself no matter how hard I tried and tent got soaked all over again. That was last straw. Final Pros & cons: Big, nice roomy feel, not hard to put up with 2 people, Good rain performance from roof and sides. Cons, hard for one person to manage, raised room divider, difficult zippers on front door, low ceiling on front porch, some floor leaking. Will look for another tent with tub floor for more more waterproof, no raised room divider, hinged D-door and easier set up for one person.
Not a bad tent overall
September 5, 2016
Not a bad tent overall. However, within the first week of having it set up one of the fiber core rods shattered in a moderate rain storm ripping the sleeve it fits in. Replaced the rod with a piece from a coghlans pole kit. That rain also exposed leaks on just about every seam in the tent. Twice I ran the seam seal along all the seams and still have a few small leaks.Took it out to Gettysburg, Pa for two weeks and it performed well. I like the two room setup allowing you to relax on chairs protected from the rain and it let us keep the sleeping area free from debris. The sleeping area was quite large allowing us to sleep comfortably and have room for changing and moving around easily. Setting it up was not difficult and only took about 15 minutes. Take down was a little trickier but I figured it out.I will be keeping this tent and using it again but I think for my next tent purchase I will go back to a Coleman.
OK for the money.
June 22, 2015
For the price its an OK tent. The Pros: Large size, easily fits a queen mattress. Large front room hold 2 chairs, a table and more, easy setup. Nice setup for two people. The cons: Set this tent up sealed the seams as directed. Took it camping and as fate would have it, it started down pouring as soon as it was set up. A couple of the seams leaked (mostly around the front door). I have a hard time with paying for a tent that has to be waterproofed right out of the box. The front room is not high enough to stand in. There are no tie backs for the window covers (when you open them, nothing to tie them out of the way with). You will need to replace the stakes (comes with the cheap plastic stakes and the small metal ones that are worthless and bend). There is a round door in the middle, again no way to tie back when its open.Overall its OK. I'll be keeping my eyes open for another in the future.
5 stars for good weather, 2 stars for bad
October 3, 2011
I just returned from our first camping trip with this tent, two nights at Lake George, NY. In the end, the elements beat us and our tent, and we only spent one night in it, but the 25-year camping veterans next to us didn't make it through the second night either.Overall, the tent is huge, nicely designed for sleeping and storing gear, but that design also makes it unstable in foul weather. My 13 year old son and I were able to set this tent up in about 20 minutes with little difficulty. You really do need two people to get the fly over the roof, but one person might be able to get the main body of the tent up by themselves.Things I like about the tent:-plenty of room and a nice high roof that a six foot person could easily stand up in-easy set up-the screen room can be closed up and used for sleeping, and it has a floor-construction seems very good, very little leakage on the seams in the face of 20+mph wind and torrential rain (and I didn't seal the seams as I'd intended to)-the screen roof and lots of windows should make this a great summer tentThings I didn't like:-the large interior and open roof make it tough for two (or three) bodies to heat up. You lose most of your heat through the roof and we were cold despite sleeping bags, air mattress, extra blankets and thermals, and it was only in the low 50s that night.-the windows do not fully zip across the top, so high wind will eventually blow them open.-the design which gives you so much useable space inside creates hard corners and very long walls that make the tent very difficult to secure against wind. One corner kept falling down against the high wind, despite adding an extra guyline and attempting to angle the tent against the wind.-easy setup with only four anchor points for the main support poles also contributes to instability. The long side of the tent is 16 feet long and you have only two main supports and an angled anchor pole for the screen room.-the huge size makes it tough to find a completely level spot for the entire footprint. I think our tent fell in on one side partly because we had one corner at a slight uphill angle and that put a lot of strain on that one cornet pole.-it's heavy and a little bulky. I think it is probably close to 25 pounds, so you aren't going to want to carry this baby very far.-there are four angled joints that hold the roof poles to the side poles. The fit is not very tight, and if you lose even one of these, you are not going to be able to set up the tent. I plan to glue these to one of the poles, because they are black and easy to lose while breaking camp.Lessons learned:-I would try to set up so that the front door faces into the wind. The back side of the fly really does not come low enough to keep wind from getting under it. On this trip, that wasn't possible because this would have put the entrance about three feet from a significant drop off.-seal the seams and waterproof the fly-buy extra stakes (the guylines only get flimsy metal pegs that don't provide much holding power), and bright-colored guylines (the included lines are black which are invisible in the dark)-I would not use this tent in temps below 60 or in winds above 10mph, especially if this were your only shelter option-I probably could have used a tarp to create a more angled face for the tent side facing the wind, but 3am in a wind storm is not when I do my best thinking and really shouldn't be necessary.

Leaked on first use! Not a WeatherMaster!
September 12, 2017
I bought this tent to take my family to a music festival in VA. The tent leaked the whole time we were there!!! I even set my tent up a week before the festival & used 2 coats of waterproofing tent spray as well as waterproof seam sealer. I have owned several tents before this one, but none have leaked as badly as this one does. The reason I give it 2 stars is b/c I love the space & hinged door. I have used the tent only once & may never use it again.
Leaky seams
July 31, 2017
The good:Spacious and airy. Easy set up. Love the screened section and very roomy to stand up comfortably in.The bad:Leaks horribly from the seams by the windows and seams running down the sides. At least ours did in the back room of the tent.We had our blow up bed and sleeping bags soaked after one rain and we were camping under trees. Puddles under our blow up beds. And YES. We did use a seam sealant prior to camp out.
Amazon's return policy is fantastic - because this one sure went back to Amazon ...
May 24, 2015
Thankfully, Amazon's return policy is fantastic - because this one sure went back to Amazon in a hurry.I've been camping since the early 80s, and I've camped/backpacked across four continents. I know how to set up a tent, and I know how to stay dry in the rain. My first tip about staying dry in the rain is to avoid this tent.Coleman says the seams are sealed, but do not believe them. The seams on our tent acted like wicks to draw water into the tent, especially along the bottom of the windows. The water pools there and then runs into the tent about as fast as a drip coffeemaker. Look at the pics here and count the windows - that's a lot of water coming in during a storm. We were mopping the floor, and even after stretching a tarp over the tent the sidewalls leaked. Badly. The sad part is it's a well designed tent. The side door is awesome, especially with little kids who will - it's the nature of the little ones - forget to close the bug net. The door almost always closes itself. That's awesome! And the front porch area is nice. And the tent is huge for this price point. But it's not - not even close to it - waterproof. If it rains, you'll be wet. Let me say that again: If it rains, you'll be wet. I suspect a heavy dew could cause problems.TL;DR: Don't buy this tent. It leaks badly.
You may want to consider a different brand
October 7, 2014
I just ordered this Tent last Monday to take camping this past weekend. I like the design of the tent, it has a ton of room, and the screened in area was really nice, however It rained the First night and a good part of the next day. I spent the first night trying to cover all of the LEAKS with tarps, but water was coming in through the seems on the bottom of the windows, as well as some of the seems that attach the bottom to the tent to the walls. The tarps didn't do a whole lot since the RAIN FLY LEAKS TOO. I can't believe that Amazon would sell such a substandard product, and I expected a MUCH better product from Coleman, who used to be the name in Camping gear.
Leaky and clunky
March 17, 2014
This tent had huge, heavy poles and is not as simple to set up like other tents of similar size and capacity. We had a half day of light to medium rain and water leaked from the bottom seams of both windows. Coleman claims this tent to have "leak-free seams" but that was not the case at all. We had to put our plastic ponchos over both windows (attaching them to the pole clamps) just to make sure water avoids the seams.Apart from the leak, the tent was sized perfectly for our 4+pet family with room to spare and the porch proved very useful for keeping dirty shoes and wet gear outside and safe. The porch netting also helped prevent most bugs from getting inside the tent area. Best part of the tent was the hinged door. We didn't have to keep zipping up behind us since the hinged door had velcros to close.
Just my luck
August 3, 2013
Getting ready to take my first camping trip with the family. bought this tent though amazon.. liked the idea of having a screened front end and a room divider..me and the wife on one side the kids on the other.. seen some of the reviews on this tent and it seemed to have more good ones then bad...and coleman usually a good brand.. received the tent the other day and waited till the weekend to set it up and look it over.. and maybe me and the kids sleep overnite in our yard to test it out... while it was just me setting the tent up I had no trouble assembling the pieces together and raising the tent took about 15 minutes to do.. my six year old help me put the rain cover on since it was a little windy out.. while going inside the tent and inspect the insides I noticed the window closest to the door flap.. on the upper part of the window just above the seem there was a quarter sized hole.. doesn't even look like it was even sewn into the seem.. so it looks as if poor manufacturing or poor quality control.. when I received the product through ups.. the box showed no damage other then normal wear. northe box inside the tent carrier was damaged.. so the damage wasn't caused by shipment.. and just my luck when packing the tent back into its storage bag the zipper on the bag flew off... wouldn't recommend this tent.. in the process on returning this product back... went to a brick and mortar store today and happened to find a larger 10 man tent made by Ozark and 40 dollars cheaper then this one...

The size of it is great, especially the good height
September 4, 2017
The size of it is great, especially the good height. The screened porch room with an attached bottom/floor is very good too and due to the screened panels on it being able to be completely shut if desired. The colour is nice and the small back floor vent very handy for airflow. The quality of the materials seem pretty good although I didn't have opportunity to test it in rain or wind. Things of concern were the fact that when erected, the tent walls remained very uneven/fabric pulling at an angle instead of straight wall panels. The inner door to main tent must remain open or closed as it doesn't have a screen panel and we generally found it somewhat cumbersome to put up...maybe due to the extra height?? Definitely needs two people.

April 10, 2017
It is definitely a spacious tent and not really too hard to set up, but during our trip it was often windy and anytime there was a gust at all one of the poles would collapse in. We had to stack boxes inside the tent to keep it up and use weights on the outside to keep the stakes from being pulled out. It doesn't seem like this tent has the structural integrity to withstand any type of unfavorable weather.
Ceiling collapsed from wind, bad support system
August 23, 2016
This tent seemed really nice and against my better judgement I ignored the reviews and ordered it.Now, it is a very nice tent, until the wind blows. The support system is not well designed so the entire tent collapsed. Luckily it didn't cause us any inconvenience cause we weren't sleeping in it at the time. If you feel like you could rig it to stay up better, or hang it from a tree or something, it's a great deal. Otherwise it's not worth the trouble.
Not a happy camper!
August 16, 2016
The reason we chose this tent was because of "patio room", but were quickly disappointed when we started putting tent together. First, the string that holds wires on roof of tent had ripped leaving metal poles to detach from each other. Second, the zipper to door between patio and larger room was missing so there was no separation between rooms. Third, I was hoping to fit 2 queen size air beds (one for husband and I, the other for kids) in larger room but realized that both air beds don't fit in one room unless you are jumping off one to step outside. Thankfully we were able to return our tent and will probably be purchasing a Coleman. Word of advice, check your tent before getting to campsite!!
This Tent CANNOT handle even SMALL gusts of wind
May 30, 2016
I bought this tent to go to the lake. In 15 mph gusts of wind this tent was IMPOSSIBLE to set up and keep up. The entire thing had to be rigged up and tied to trees for stability. I'm giving this tent ONE more chance in the woods (no wind and different terrain) if it's as bad as it was at the lake I'm going to seek my $ back.
No Instructions - Hard to setup - Not Waterproof
March 20, 2014
Had a bear of a time with this tent. There are no instructions included with this tent. I've set up a lot of tents in my time, so I was able to muddle through it, but keep it in mind. That said, you also need more than one person to set this tent up.We also found out that the tent is not waterproof, it leaked on us, we contacted Wenzel about this and received the following response. From Wenzel:The Wenzel tents are not factory sealed or have waterproof coatings. They have a water resistant sprayed finish, but the seams themselves are not sealed. It's big, it's roomy, and would be great on a sunny weekend in a large grass field (bring a tarp for underneath) Anything else you should be looking at a different tent.

The first of the weekend was fine. However the second night rained and the rain fly dripped in multiple spots through the mesh screen on the top of the tent. No one touched the tent top and it was not at a seam. When I got home I packed the tent, called Amazon, and sent the tent back. Amazon was great with the returns process. The most upsetting part of the tent was it was guarantee that the tent would not leak. So much for that.
Very disappointed and dissatisfied

Wonderful but Cheap
October 11, 2016
I got this for easy camping with the family. I own several tents including backpack tents, family tents but never a large tent. The design on this tent is great. In fact this whole tent is great. Having the front porch, the separate room, plenty of windows and airflow. 1 major flaw, it's cheaply made. As soon as I set it up the first time (two people needed as other reviews suggested, but it's easy) I could tell that the seams and stitching were questionable.Being a low key fam tent I figured we would be careful and it would last. I cleared the rocks out and set up in a extremely well used camp site. The bottom got a hole. I was unable to find any rock to be the culprit. Comparing the bottom to other tents I have I feel they used a weaker material which is subject to tear very easily. I'll patch and use again and if it holds up I'll up the stars. However 1 use and a hole already, not looking good.Again if you're planning on using this tent several times a year send the extra 50-100 and go with a better made tent. I uploaded the proof and you can clearly see no extreme wear. You be the judge. After though. Only 1 entrance on tent. Zipper is a triangle two bottom zippers that close into the middle and a center zipper that close down. I didn't mind, the wife didn't like it as much.
Had a hole in it
July 24, 2016
I bought this tent and took it out for the first time and there is a hole next to one of the loops. The stitching is undone. I do not recommend this tent. It is poorly made.

May 16, 2016
I loved the size and the porch. I was ready to love this tent! The first time I set it up, just as a test run in the yard, one of the poles snapped in a light breeze. Even before that, the side polls seemed poorly supported and wanted to tip over. It is a great looking tent with very poorly made parts.
