Fantabulous

This lap table is much much more than a laptop you can use it in so many areas I take it in my truck I use it if the puppies and I are curled up in bed because I can still curled up next to me even with this are use it in my kitchen because of recipes and especially on a tablet it's limitless how you and where you can use this even outside on my deck so my porches so if you need something that's going to last and if you use a laptop and you prefer the mouse versus the keypad it also has a mouse table you can attach on the left or the right you just you have to try this do not hesitate on this one for one moment get it it's great
You MUST try this if you work anywhere besides at a desk!

I LOVE THIS "TABLE"!!!! I use it in bed, on the couch, in the car, in the RV....and not just for the computer~ I use it as my nail table or dinner table or reading table!!! IT's totally AWESOME! Light, variably adjustable for uneven surfaces and VERY useful! I bought one for my daughter's birthday present~~Shhh! Don't tell her--she doesn't get it until the end of April! She does a lot of computer work in bed because with a house full of boys, their girlfriends, grandbabies, animals, husband and his buds, it's NOISEY at her computer desk! High quality and very lightweight! Easy to use and having the fans under the table keeps EVERYTHING cooler if they are plugged in!
Great Design - Affordable Convenience and Adjustability.

Specifically wanted to solve how to use a MacBook in-bed while fully recliined. This fits the bill perfectly, and takes much less space than the prior solution of trying to use one of the bedside laptop tables that are floor-based and just have the tilting table on a single riser pole (hospital bed table style). Some quick clarifications - on the vented version of the iCraze, the platform is all metal (actually seems like steel, as you'd find on a music stand) and the legs are the extruded aluminum portion. The mouse/side tray on mine isn't lowered from the level of the platform as pictured, but pivots on the same plane as the main platform. It can be tilted up to 90-deg forward and back, allowing you to use it as a small beverage platform (or even attach a car cup holder for more stability). Didnt find anything resembling a wrist-rest in the box, so I had to presume they referred to the tray lip which does have a beveled edge, but it is only about 1/2 inch higher than the platform, so on thicker laptops, the laptop is higher than the lip anyway. The 2 plastic lip extensions slide onto the bottom of the tray to give stability to larger laptops. Width-wise, my 15-inch laptop still has about 5 inches of extra lateral room on the main platform, so it could handle up to a 17-inch laptop without an issue (wide-screen). This seems to be wider than the non-vented version, as others mention more of a tight fit on theirs. Overall bottom width between the legs feels more like about what you get on a typical modern coach airline seat - pretty narrow, but about 17-inches max. This would fit into most wheelchairs without any issues. Since the legs rotate in both directions at each pivot point, you can use either the open S shape, open G shape, or more of a C shape to configure the legs in a stable configuration. For my heavier MacBook, the open G seems the most stable for a reclined use at about a 75 deg platform tilt. And the cooling fans are really quiet (if you don't want to use them, the USB cable is detachable). Stability-wise, it really didn't matter much to me about the wobble-factor given it's sitting on top of a mattress anyway, which isn't the most stable surface. On the floor with hardwood flooring, it's perfectly stable.
Used differently for just keyboard and love it

I use it at work for a stand up desk. I have three monitors, and when I'm standing, I tilt them up as high as they can angle, then put my keyboard and mouse on this stand (I don't use the fans at all). it works great, and my coworkers have expressed their admiration. Plus, I think this standing at work really is healthier and makes a huge difference. This is a cheap hack to avoid paying for those expensive devices that raise your monitors, and it is really easy to take this out and readjust monitors to sit down every once in awhile.
Great deask on any surface.

I am the kind of person that likes a laptop for mobility. I'm not stuck in one room where the computer is I can take it with me. Also, I am a gamer which means I can't have the laptop sitting just anywhere - I need it on a solid, comfortable surface that offers stability and airflow...this desk hit the nail on the head for my personal ideal desk needs. Here is my pro and con list of it all.Pros :- LOVE that it's ultra lightweight- It is the perfect size for my Toshiba Satellite , haven't tried it with the thicker dell but for the Toshiba it's just great- I have a larger laptop and it fits perfect with some space to spare (an inch or two to spare on the side)-It's made of aluminium so it's tough and durable!- The black vented lap desk comes with a little side tray that attaches easily and effortlessly for your mouse and the plus in that is you don't even need a mouse pad with it but I do choose to use one.- The table section has enough of a ledge to keep the laptop from sliding off even when the desk part is on an angle BUT they have provided you with two slip on clips for added non-slip/ to accommodate thicker laptops.- This desk does have two fans and they seem decent enough quality. They are extremely silent and do a great job keeping my laptop cool as a cucumber while playing a cpu/gpu intensive game like Rift. Normally an expensive fan would be needed to play this game while on a desk BUT your laptop is supported in the air with clear and easy air flow, no wood or stone desk suffocating your pc so the fans on the desk are more than enough to please any gamer. Now, if you have a dinosaur of a laptop and are trying to play system intensive games...this won't be ideal for you as most likely your laptop is not up to par and barely qualifies to play such games so expect your laptop to run beyond HOT - there is no fix for "old" laptop outside of getting a new one sadly.- I adore I get the option of turning the fans on or off with a flick of a switch. Facing the user and under the table top is a little black on/off switch. Also, there is a usb cable that attaches to your laptop for a power source, it is removable so it's not dangling under your table if you aren't using it.- The legs on the desk move in the most incredible ways. There is no angle these little suckers can't move AND they can be positioned differently from each other to literally accommodate any angle/incline/decline. There are times when I have one leg positioned one way and the other leg positioned on another angle to offer me stability on strange inclines. Sometimes I am on a surface where the right side of the laptop is lower than the left and this laptop is the answer...stability on every angle for me.- This lap desk doesn't really jiggle or shake, I mean if you kick it or hit it it will but it never tips over (anything tips over with enough force though), it's never come close to it thank goodness.- It folds up very, very thin. I can slip this under anything and no one would really see it it's so thin. Under the bed, under the couch even. It's not bulky one bit.Cons:- I wish the side tray mouse pad was a tad bit bigger, it is more than enough for me in the time I have used this lap desk but I like having roaming space.- The aluminum legs have plastic joints, I am unsure if this plastic is a cover for the aluminium or if indeed it is plastic. It seems like a hard plastic but I just have bad luck with plastic altogether. I am a bit worried it will break in the future.- I am a woman with long nails and the buttons on each leg to adjust it give me a bit of a hard time. They are sometimes difficult to press when only my nail tip can reach the button to press it. Some times my nail bend in a hurtful way, other times my nail just breaks so I've started using small things made of metal to press the buttons in for me.Over all I love this desk and am extremely pleased with it on every front. It's lightweight and stable, easy on the eyes and just looks cool! Anything that allows me to use my laptop comfortably on the floor or in bed, sitting up leaning against the wall or on the sofa, in a chair or anywhere else is amazing to me. One of my best purchases to date! If this broke tomorrow I would order another the very same day I am so pleased with this. 15 out of 10 thumbs up from me.
very good for the money

This is the third, exactly identical lapdesk I purchased (had to let go of the first two while moving), and it's way cheaper than the previous ones made by different brands. While it is correct that these things are not very sturdy and stable, the identical, three-adjustable-jointed ones on the market, regardless of the brand, have exactly the same level of sturdiness/stability in my experience. So while I definitely can understand people complaining abouta) having to remove your laptop and use two hands while adjustingb) the thing always being slightly wobbly,After intensive research, I did not find any alternatives that are either made of stronger material, or that are easier to adjust, while offering everything this model offers.Using this particular model of lapdesks has the advantage of versatility, and if that's your priority, you'll have to accept them for what they are. You can place them on the desk to hold books open and reading without hurting your neck, use it on the floor with your legs under, or use it as a stand next to your desk if you rarely need your computer while studying and want to save desk space. And wobbliness or no, I have never experienced any accidents (joints giving way and my laptop dropping etc) with these stands, during 5 years I used them.To repeat myself, as these particular model of lapdesks are the most versatile ones in the market, and this particular product is as cheap as it'll ever get, I'd still recommend it without qualms.PS: The fans work just fine, though if I really needed cooling, I'd definitely go for a more powerful alternative.

i-not-so-Craze about the price, but it gets the job done.
September 15, 2017
I use the iCraze as a stand up desk contraption at my job. I just wanted something to put my keyboard and mouse on just in case I wanted to stand up and work at my job. I used to use old printer paper boxes as my desktop "riser" so this is indeed an improvement. It works fine, I have no complaints except for the fact that it looks cheap, feels cheap, but it certainly isn't cheap. Granted this is on the lower end of the pricing spectrum if you want a convertible desktop, some can go for a few hundred dollars. Still, I feel like this thing is going to break any second, the hinges that adjust the legs feel like cheap plastic, hopefully I'm wrong and it will last a long time. I wouldn't have had such a gripe about the quality if I didn't have to spend $35 for this thing that feels like it should be $10-$15 at best. I don't really use the fan as I just use it for my keyboard but I did try it out and it worked the one time I used it. P.S. the fans aren't powerful enough to cool you off...they are meant for a laptop...hey, I had to try it, a guy could dream, right?
Great lap desk
February 7, 2017
I really like this desk. It is sturdy and flexible. I've used it on the couch with my laptop and with my sewing. The only problem I had, which prevents the fifth star, was with connecting the legs to the desk. The legs have a round section that inserts into a round socket at the bottom of the desk. After inserting the legs you are supposed to permanently attach them with screws.Problem 1: the instructions do not specify the direction the legs should be pointing when you insert them into the desk portion.Problem 2: the screw holes in the round section of the legs were almost non-existent and did not line up with the screw holes in the socket of the desk portion. My solution? At some point I'll pull out a drill and fix the screw holes myself. However, the screws aren't even really necessary, because the leg is very stably connected to the socket. When I first attached them I put one on incorrectly and I had to use a mallet to push the connected leg back out of the socket.
Purrfect, even room for my kitten!!

Well, this is a nifty little laptop accessory! After some negative reviews, I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of the carton, so I unwrapped the parts and pieces with one eye open. In the package, you will find the table, a small baggie containing eight screws, a neat little screwdriver, and a nice USB connector cable. There is an instruction sheet, complete with pictures, but a step, or two are missing. My laptop is not a gamer by any means, but I do have a handful that I've purchased. One of those games turns my Toshiba Satellite into a nice little heater. With this particular game, usually about five minutes is tops before my laptop is hot enough to warrant a shut down. This is so annoying; plus, I have a little foundling kitten that loves to curl on my lap, but there isn't room for both laptop and kitten. :(I've owned a couple of these vented laptop tables before. I am a professional Internet researcher, therefore, I spend long, long, long hours on the Internet, broken by short bursts of a game here and there. Posture is important during my workday. When I'm forced to hunch over my laptop, well let's just say that I'm now to the age where I am afraid that my back, neck, and shoulders just might freeze that way!My iCraze arrived this afternoon, 12/16. I eagerly unpacked it because the only way I can keep my laptop from overheating is to position it in a butterfly, meaning in a 'V', where the monitor and the bottom are both open, making the hinges the only part actually in my lap. Uncomfortable! The iCraze was very well wrapped in protective bubble wrap, no parts or pieces were packed together, each had their own little sheath of bubble wrap. It comes with 8 screws and a screwdriver for either phillips or regular use! Cute little thing! The table top had me a bit concerned because it is very slick, so immediately my mind went to working on solutions. I needn't have bothered as my laptop stays right where I put it. In fact, my laptop is on my iCraze now; given that I am a fast typist, the iCraze is not shifting, bouncing, or in any way rearranging itself. Also, my laptop is not moving at all on the iCraze table. All parts are plastic, but the plastic is solid, and not flimsy. The table contains two fans. On the underside of the table, connected to the front of the fans' housing, is an on and off switch...yes! You control when the fans run! Behind the fans' housing is a port in which you connect one end of the USB cable...yes! Supplied, even! The cable is not thin or flimsy, but is of a goodly thickness. In fact, the USB cable is thicker and sturdier than my Toshiba's battery cable!I have used my computer in both modes, as in fans on, fans off. Because the table is so well vented over the location of the fans, my laptop is self-venting just fine, no fans needed. However, when I play my games, I need the fans on, so I just reach under the table to the fan switch, which is very easy and convenient to reach without lifting the table to see the switch. I suggest you learn the switch location so you can easily find it after your computer is on the table. The fans will not create a breeze around you, and if you're a heavy gamer with a computer to match, I'm not certain that the fans will have enough oomph to keep your laptop safely cool. But, for surfing, and light gaming, the fans do an ideal job. It could be that since the table is so well vented, that the addition of the fans just might be enough for a heavy game session. Just in case, you may want to keep a small fan in reserve. The table has a lip that isn't just four, or five inches long, but instead, it runs the entire length of the table. My laptop is 16", and because this lip runs the entire length, my laptop is quite secure; in fact, there is about an inch to spare, making this a safe table for a 17" laptop. There is a slot on either side of the table for mounting the accompanying mouse pad; however, I chose not to mount the pad because my recliner has wide, wooden arms that make a perfect mouse pad. The mouse pad is made of the same material as the table, and according to the directions, can be kept level even when the table is tilted. And, the table does tilt; you'll need to experiment to find your comfort level. Don't get carried away though, because even though this table holds your laptop securely, if you put the table too high, gravity will win, and your laptop will lose! Use common sense. Now, for the legs, there is a set of two. Each one has a port on either side of the table in which you simply push the leg connector into the port until it clicks into place. Pretty easy. Be sure that you face the part of the leg that contain the adjuster buttons to the outside. These buttons. there are three in all, contain markings to help you adjust the legs so both sides are even. The legs are a bit of a challenge to master as the buttons must be pushed in for the legs, or table, to move. This is a good thing because these buttons prevent the legs from collapsing while your laptop is in use, or simply sitting on the table. A word of caution...you can leave your laptop idly sitting on the table, however, be absolutely certain that the table is steady and that the weight of your laptop won't push it over. This unit doesn't really have 'feet', so a word to the wise! After getting the iCraze together, and now that I've used it for about six hours, I can honestly say that there is no strain on my neck, shoulders, or back. I'm not peering at my screen because now my laptop is fully open, and not sitting in a 'V' on my lap. Nor am I freezing because in an effort to keep my laptop cool, I had a stand fan right next to me, blowing over my shoulder onto my computer. I live in an old converted barn, no insulation, and right now the outside temp is under 35. My heater is working overtime, so sitting with a stand fan blowing over my shoulder is definitely not paradise! I am quite comfy, and my kitten is happy and sleeping on my lap. She doesn't seem to mind the fans blowing down on her.The reason I gave this device a four star rating and not a five is because the directions are a bit obscure, and do leave the assembler room to wonder; case in point...I have not yet figured out where the four screws (of which there are eight in the package) are supposed to attach.Overall, discounting the lack of directions, and discounting the learning curve for configuring the legs, for performance, convenience, stability, and an expected durable lifespan, in addition to allowing my kitten to curl up on my lap under this table, I do give the device itself a five star rating.Oh, and because the fans run off your computer's USB port, be sure that you have a multi-device connector for your USB if you plan on using an external mouse, or thumb drive.
They're great for those here with "Standing Desk" mania and I ...
October 27, 2015
Over the past few weeks, I've ordered 4 of these for my office. They're great for those here with "Standing Desk" mania and I haven't received many complaints from my colleagues about them. The issues we do have are minor, in our opinion.HOW THESE WORK FOR US:One of my colleagues uses this for her desktop monitor and keyboard. Clearly, not the intended purpose. It was evident as we had to figure out a way to stop uncontrollable wobbling from the weight of the monitor (under 30lbs) and combined keyboard typing. The edge with the lip supports the monitor in the back, while the other end holds the keyboard. For extra stability, we made the legs bend so the entire stand was almost box-like and used a selfie stick we had lying around to support the other end. The weight from her typing is securely supported by the selfie stick. See the photo with the pink mouse to see her exact setup. It might not be ideal for many, but it worked well enough for us.After about 20 minutes of maneuvering, another co-worker and I found the ideal degree settings on the stand that works for just about everyone here. If you would like to attempt these settings, be aware that--for some godforsaken reason--the degrees on the hinges does not go up to an ideal 360, but instead is divided by two semi-circles of 180 degrees. This may make matching our setup a bit irritating. For anyone who doesn't want much figuring out with these guys, the second photo with the plant in the background shows her set up with the matching degrees.STANDING: **SEE PICTURES FOR REFERENCE**Top: 60Middle: 105 (Line between 120 and 90)Bottom: 90Because of height differences, the top button is the one that people adjust the most. One co-worker prefers it to be 30 degrees rather than 60. Another prefers 45.SITTING: **SEE PICTURES FOR REFERENCE**Top: 30Middle: 45 (Line between 30 and 60)Bottom: 30The same height difference between people also causes the top button to change, but this was perfectly eye-level for me, which is the way you should look at a screen. The sitting measurements also infer that you have a wireless keyboard. Otherwise, you'll just have to set the stand aside or under your desk if you want to sit down again.Once the stand has been adjusted to the employee's liking, we use two different color, metallic/paint sharpies to dot the exact measurements so they can alternate between the two with much less difficulty.GENERAL COMPLAINTS:1 - It's hard to figure out at first as the desk doesn't come with any sort of instructions or various options for positions. You're kind of just winging it until you see what works for you.2 - It can be annoying to switch between the standing and sitting settings. All of our employees who have these just opt to place their laptop back on their desk when they want to sit and keep the stand in the "Standing" setting under their desks.3 - A BIT wobbly, but nothing that's caused us any major issues. The wobbling issue we mainly have is because we aren't using a laptop, but a desktop monitor and keyboard instead. Can't really complain when we're finding an alternative use for something that wasn't built for said alternative use.4 - A bit pricey at the original price. I wouldn't have gotten these if our office didn't have Amazon Prime and didn't get about $50 off from the start.----Hope this helped for anyone who was curious about these or who was a bit intimidated by the negative reviews/common complaints. Overall, we're very happy with these.
I purchased this to be used as a stand-up work ...
August 6, 2015
I purchased this to be used as a stand-up work desk for my laptop, which I set on top of my dining room table (my table height is 35", so my screen is now perfectly at eye level.) There were no instructions, but the design is simple and clean. It took me a few minutes to get the "legs" set to the correct angles, but once it was set up it worked as I had intended. The mouse stand is not usable for me, I have a wireless mouse and keyboard set up on my original table. I don't know how much I will use the fan either, as it needs to be plugged into USB for power. I use both USB ports for my mouse and keyboard. All things considered this is a simple solution at a reasonable price. I'm not sure why my photo is turned sideways, it's oriented portrait on my end.
Works great for a standing desk.

For the price, I am really happy with this product. It does the job as a standing desk for my laptop, and it even has a small area for your mouse.

OK but a little wobbly
May 7, 2017
I'm mostly happy with this purchase. I'm 5'9" and this was one of the few adjustable tables that looked like it'd go high enough. It does offer enough of a lift, so I like that. The extension for the mouse is so rickety that I don't even use it. The table is kind of annoying to adjust and it's a bit shaky. Overall, I like it because it gets the job done. But just know that it's not 100% super stable.
... screen is pointing downward right over my chest (just like the picture we see everywhere)
August 6, 2015
I give this a 3 star rating only because the main reason i bought it is to ba able to lie down in bed with the Icraze set up in a way that the tablet screen is pointing downward right over my chest (just like the picture we see everywhere). The two clamps that hold the tablet in place are plastic and don't grip the tablet that well.. A few times the tablet just released and fell on me (not a great feeling!!). So imagine, on the box it says tablet or laptop, forget about the laptop, it won't be optimal)If your purpose is to keep the tablet laying there straight not pointing downwards, it's a great product. I use it like that to Skype with friends and family.3 star review for the waek downwards position and 4 star for all other uses.
Works Okay
February 16, 2015
I like it but it was a little confusing. And not as sturdy as I was expecting. The clicking when I was adjusting the legs was also a little too loud for my taste. There were no instructions in the box. Of course, one would expect that one could just figure out how to adjust the legs and get it into position. Or how to get the little mouse tray attached. I figured it out, but I like having instruction manuals no matter how simple the product is. When adjusting the legs, you have to do them at different times (I guess I should have been expecting that) and it's not always easy to get a look at the angles (which are right there on the adjusting knobs) and you have to look at one and then switch over to the other side and look at that one.Anyhow, I did get it so I could balance it on my bed on top of my wooden lap-top desk and also use my stepper while using my laptop in my bedroom. So worked for that. A little wobbly but since I was just watching instructional videos, it worked great (still need to figure out how to sync my laptop of phone with my TV in the bedroom).I did love when I got my daily steps in, I folded it back down, smaller, and was able to sit on the bed, fairly comfortably, with my laptop in front of me and this is what I really wanted this for. And it was stable in that position. I was able to adjust the legs to the exact degrees needed to make it so it was level and voila, it went well. I was able to work on my bedroom while the family watched TV in the living room. Do not lean (oops) too hard on the mouse table, I accidentally did and it bent a little.Anyhow, it is okay, not the best but if you are looking for something to use in bed to hold your laptop, this will work.
Does what I want it to do, but wobbly
February 23, 2014
I bought this to use as a standing desk at work. I spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer, and would like the option of standing for some part of the day. I bought the iCraze with the idea that it would sit on my desk and hold my keyboard and mouse at the proper height for standing work (forearms parallel to the ground.)The good: it works. It's easily adjustable to the proper height. In fact, just now I decided that it wasn't quite tall enough, and it adjusted in less than a minute. The bad: it's wobbly. It moves as I type just from the pressure of my fingers hitting the keys. Not sure I'd put a heavy laptop on this thing, though a lightweight keyboard is fine. Adjusting it to a slightly taller height made the wobble worse. I tried putting some heavy weights on the "feet" and it helps a little (two 8 kilo sand bags.) They don't completely eliminate the wobble, but now it doesn't feel like the thing is going to slide all over as I type. The large Apple keyboard is a little too wide, so I am using the wireless keyboard instead. The clip-on mouse shelf is too small, so I added my mouse pad with a wrist rest -- that helps a lot. I'll need to use some tape to keep the mouse pad on the shelf, as there is no friction holding it there.Overall: I'm going to try it for a while and see what happens. It easily gets the keyboard to the correct height, which is crucial for a standing work position. As I use it more with the sand bags it's less annoying.EDIT: after a couple of weeks using this at work, I like it more and more. I've been standing for about half of each work day. Several colleagues have seen me and asked about it, so we'll see if there is a sudden move to standing up at our office.
Fiddly but Fine
December 25, 2013
We purchased two of these and are quite satisfied. I admit they are fiddly to work with and ladies they are hard to adjust if you have long fingernails. If you don't have someone to help you, like I do, well...it may be a bit harder for you. It took us a good 30 minutes of playing with them to get them adjusted just so...but once we did they worked like a charm. Ours didn't come with instructions but we didn't need them. Press the little knob in and adjust the joints. It does take two hands to do this. Like I said, it's a little fiddly but once we got the hang of it...no problem. Our lap-tops are 17-inches and fit the stand perfectly. The tray reminds me of a music stand. It has a lip and clips that slide on to prevent the computer from slipping off of the front. The photo I'm looking at while I type has the lip angled up when in fact what you want to do is have the lip at the front of your laptop. The fan plugs into the USB port and keeps our computers (and legs) cool. We're not running anything heavy-duty like say...a gamer would, so for our usage it's adequate. We have the all black and no part of it is plastic. My husband likes the mouse tray. I don't use it myself so I didn't attach it. You'll need to use your mouse pad to keep it from sliding off of the tray.
Red w/ Black Top for tablets & laptops - works ok.
May 29, 2013
Ok...just got this and can compare it to my friend's Furinno adjustable black laptop table with fans. The legs are similar - Metal aluminum but the ICraze has plastic caps that house the buttons you push down to bend the legs. The tops are not similar - This is a plastic top and while in the photos above their are blue clips to hold the IPad. These are black. While they work, the clips are plastic and the mechanism to move the clips is plastic as well. The plastic top has metal screws that connect the plastic to the gears on the side. The Furinno top is aluminum and I think a bit better made and larger in length. However, that being said. this plastic top is still pretty sturdy. I bought this to hold a keyboard so I can stand and type. Works great for that! And I set my heavy Asus Gamer laptop (7.5lb) on this to test it out. The ICraze took the weight fine and was stable while typing. They say it could hold 30 pounds. I think it reasonably could hold 15 considering the plastic parts and have a long life.So I got this through the Amazon market at around $37 and I feel like I am getting what I paid for. The Furinno costs around $20 more.As for color, what you see on the screen is pretty much what you are getting. The red is a Christmas red.I think if you have reasonable expectations of this product, you'll find it a decent buy. I'll update if anything changes in my use of this.Note: One thing I did notice in the description of this item, they do advertise it as Aluminum Alloy. That is definitely only the legs of this model. And, I don't believe that this could hold a 17" laptop like advertised. My laptop is 15" and it covered the whole top from edge to edge.

So cumbersome it defeats the purpose
January 1, 2017
I purchased it to keep laptop running safe from overheat while I sit in bed. Adjusting the arms was annoying. The joints are hard to maneuver. Then they might not match up so I need to re-adjust. I wanted to be able to break it down for storage but I have to keep it upright so I don't have to deal with setting it up again. That attachable bar for the mouse falls out too easily also. I should have bought the cheap particle board one from Ikea.
Very Useful but Unnecessarily Complex
June 9, 2015
Reliably Strong, Very Useful but Unnecessarily Complex. And the Design for Mouse Pad is plain stupid. That " Patented joint locking design " thing can be real pain. It needs substantial effort to set this thing up for yourself but once set it is quite handy . It's light-weight, sturdy and gives confidence of reliability. . If you set this up to what it shows in the picture, try imagining yourself standing looking downward in an angle towards the screen( I am 5'10 ), with that small black square ( 10 x 6 in) as your mouse pad. I am not very fond of it. Get it if your work does not involve using the mouse generously. Hold's my 15 'inch MacBook quite comfortably.
Ok, but with reservations

The supporting arms seem pretty solid, the plastic top doesn't. Using this for a tablet will be ok, but I'd be concerned about placing a laptop of any weight on it. Additionally, the plastic clips that are supposed to hold a tablet in place above you (like the girl is in the picture), are extremely flimsy and I wouldn't trust them to hold for long, if at all. I'm going to make a couple aluminum "L" brackets to replace these, but for the money, you shouldn't have to do that. I can only recommend this with reservation.
I would have been better off buying a lap/TV table

It is much too cumbersome to use. You can never get the legs in the right position as there are few angles which you can lock them into. Plus you have to start with the outer most leg segment and move each one in order to get to the inner leg segment. The legs are too short to use with a chair as you would a TV tray/table and so poor that the tray wiggles all over the place. Speaking of the tray, it is good and solid aluminum, but so slick that everything you place on it slips off at the slightest movement (even with the little lip on the front). The two that I ordered are now in the trash, as I disassembled one in hopes of making the legs longer on the remaining one. I did easily accomplish this, but it was like a house of cards and swayed from side to side. They both ended up in the recycling bin and I have purchased a sturdy TV table for my needs.
It's alright for the price.

Once you have it set up, it's a functional unit. I use it to put my ipad and my kindle on it as I have a neck problem. However, getting it set up is a pain. It's also very light so it can be a bit unstable if you don't have the movable legs hinged at good angles because it will tip over.Update:I'm changing it to two stars because upon comparison to the photo where the girl is laying down, there seems to be two pieces of contraption that allows the ipad to stay in place so it won't fall off.If you want this one, then you'll have to order the red and black one. It seems like it's unavailable for the stands with other colors.I might just think about returning this at this point.
Embarrassed that I bought it

I am a former rehabilitation counselor, and have a strong background in assistive/adaptive technology and I have a number of concerns about this product. For those individuals that have physical impairments (I am one of them myself) I would strongly urge you to research other options before buying this. Following is why: 1. Quality is poor. Plastic legs are very flimsy - thin and hollow. Should they break, off, I think it would be where they are attached to the tray. If one of the sides break,it's usefulness would be greatly reduced. I am not sure about the quality of the hinges and wonder how long they would work. Info about that on the Amazon website is lacking. 2. There was no documentation in the box it came in, so how would someone get replacement parts? 3. While there were 2 plastic clips in the box that I assume were for attaching the mouse tray - there was no mouse tray included. 4. Pricing. I thought I was going to be getting a real good product and save $30 at the same time. As it was, I think I easily paid $10 to $15 too much for it. 5. All of this adds up to a very frustrating experience, which can be demoralizing. When one has chronic pain (such as myself) or mobility impairments, there is a lot of hope that finally they have found something that could be really helpful. I spent too much time researching this product, and should have paid more attention to the negative things said about it.There were somethings that I did like about the product however. The hinges have markings showing what the degree of angles are when you are making adjustments on the legs. The box itself that the tray came in was attractive and substantially made to contain such a product as that. On top it said in the lower left hand corner "Laptop Desk," and in the top right hand corner it said "Made in China."Needless to say, will return this product, and would strongly encourage anyone to avoid buying it. There are better options.

Skin Peeled on Thumbs From Rotating Joints
June 18, 2017
After owning this desk for about a month, I can say that this laptop desk is definitely not for me. The buttons are very stiff and are so hard to press, I start sweating when I'm in bed just to get it to move right (& I'm young and fit.. Really, hahaha). I was thinking that I was just being lazy about setting it up but my thumbs and fingers got pink from all of the skin that peeled from using this desk. It started as just some peels here and there, next thing you know it my thumbs are naked. Very gross and annoyingly painful. Also, it is not as easy as setting it up on your bed as it is advertised to do. It is a very time consuming experience. And if you want to take this from your bed to your desk to make it a standing desk? Oh yeah, I might as well just stand up and hunch over because this thing is so frustrating to use. Jeez! I haven't even touched it in the last week, for my bed or for my desk. You should really try and invest in a more legitimate standing desk or laptop desk.
I'd rather use a stack of phone books
June 16, 2017
If I could give this one star, I would! Just returned it - it is poorly made, difficult to assemble, and just overall CHEAP. Impossible for one person to adjust on his or her own -- you need like four pair of hands. Don't waste your money. I'd rather use a stack of phone books than put my computer on this flimsy stand.
Wobbles no matter what you do. Uneven surface for laptop.
January 13, 2017
It is impossible to adjust this product so that the surface the computer sits on is level. Three people have tried to get this thing to a level surface and not wobble. Adjusting the legs is difficult because the numbers on the left leg dials do not match the right leg dials. For example 90 degrees on left leg will not position the same as 90 degrees on the right leg even if the dial is in the part of the leg. Also, the dials are difficult to turn.Terrible product. Don't buy.
Would be great product but parts glued on unevenly
December 18, 2016
I think, had it been constructed properly, that this would be a great product. Unfortunately, I cannot use it, or return it.I bought this because I was put on a temporary assignment at work and would not have my Varidesk sit/stand desk. As I was getting the iDesk set up at new location, the director there sent for my Varidesk, so I put the iDesk aside. Just tried to set it up at home and the piece with the slots that slide into the base was assembled crookedly, so the slots are not aligned and the legs do not stand evenly. The return window has closed, so I'm stuck with it.I'm sure this was an anomaly. Go ahead and try it out, just make sure you check alignment so you can return it before the return window closes.
Not useful
April 29, 2016
YIKES! This was the most unusual, tricky, and flimsy piece of plastic I've ever come across, especially to place my laptop on. I gave it the benefit of the doubt since it looked quite interesting and seemed rather resourceful in the advertisement photos.... but, landing the correct and most comfortable adjustment was a (failed) 2-person project then the attached mouse pad stand fell off when my hand accidentally swiped it gently turning sideways. Unfortunately this product did not work out for me contrary to all the positive reviews :(
Wobbly, cheaply made, no free returns
January 14, 2016
I was expecting something that was more sturdy than this. The legs are metal, but the joints and locking mechanisms are plastic. The whole thing rocks back and forth as you type. And to add insult to injury, return shipping costs $8.
