Excellent sink, great value!
September 23, 2017
When I was researching sinks for our kitchen renovation, this really stood out. I'd been on websites where comparable sinks were over 1k!I held my breath, but the contractor asked,"How much did you pay for this sink? 5-600 dollars?" I proudly answered "275 and change!" He looked gobsmacked, and said it was a great sink, made very well, and an incredible value! It looks beautiful, the rack is terrific, and I'm looking forward to years of happiness! Will follow up after having it for a few months. Thanks Kraus!
Very nice sink at an excellent price point.

Review date 2/9/17: Excellent value for a sink that appears very well constructed with high attention to detail. I'm pleased with this purchase especially for the price paid. ONLY feedback would be on the drain assembly included. Before I get into that let me say that overall the design and stainless construction of the drain interior appear to be very well done. Assuming the metallurgy is the same as claimed by the sink manufacturer the drain assembly should give many years of rust free dutiful service. The feedback portion relates to the plastic piece that fits under the sink and secures the interior drain - I personally think that should be stainless as well. And secondly there was no tool included that fit into the slot for the screw that connects the top portion to the underside. Not a huge deal for those who have a decent set of tools on hand (I used a chisel to serve as an extra large straight slot screwdriver and it worked out well). All in all, especially when you compare quality vs cost this is an excellent purchase so far. If we start to experience issues I will update this review at a later date with those details.
Capacious!

Love this huge sink. Looks great. I was originally skeptical about the grate in the bottom (which is removable, so you can always do without it), but after using it for several weeks I find this is an awesome feature. keeps water from pooling on things you keep in the sink (like a sponge, for e.g.). Easy to lift halfway out to wipe the bottom. As others point out, the sink is very deep, but the bottom is not very steep, so you're going to have to wipe food towards the disposal yourself. Easy enough to do, and the depth really helps when washing large pans, baking sheets, etc. This sink is so deep we leave our dish soap in it and it stays out of sight.Overall very pleased with this purchase.
Great product - my installer looked at it and said ...
February 8, 2016
Great product - my installer looked at it and said he love Kraus because of how heavy they are. It is a good gauge of stainless steel - nice and thick. I love that it comes with the accessories especially the bottom grate. This was more reasonable then any other sink I have looked at. . .which were a lot.I loved ordering on Amazon. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else, but this was it was delivered to my house and the driver was nice enough to bring it inside for me.
Beautiful, huge, quality, affordable sink!
November 30, 2015
I LOVE this sink! We've been using it in our newly remodeled kitchen for 2 months and I have mostly praise for it:**Pros:1) AFFORDABLE! We priced out the competition with fewer features (no grate or drain mechanism) at much higher price points ($799+, and then + accessories). I wouldn't claim this sink is higher quality than one of the higher-end competitors, but it certainly seems like a better value. It's a quality sink, very durable and looks amazing.2) HUGE. I mean really, really big. I knew the dimensions when I ordered it but visualizing the size and actually seeing it installed surprised me. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But be prepared for the size. It holds even my largest cutting boards and roasters for easy cleaning. I don't wash loads of dishes in it so I haven't attempted to fill it up but if you hand wash dishes frequently you might want to consider how much water it will take to get enough in there to wash dishes.3) It's beautiful. It's sleek, has clean lines and just really looks great! I've received multiple compliments already. I'm all about function over beauty, but I'll admit that I just love the look of this sink.4) Cleans easily and is scratch-resistant. I cook a lot and am tough on all of my kitchen tools, including my sink. It's only been two months but I've banged plenty of pots/pans/roasters in it (Thanksgiving) and my husband has even cleaned a few paintbrushes in it (much to my horror!). It cleans up nicely on a daily basis and tougher spots buff out quickly. It seems like it will withstand quite a beating with a reasonable amount of wear.5) It's packaged amazingly well! I unpacked everything upon arrival to inspect it and it was perfect...the sink was in a nice, soft bag surrounded by foam with the other parts in a separate box packed away from the sink. I've had glassware delivered with less protection!**Things to consider (these are not "Cons" for me, but might be for others):6) It has a very interesting strainer mechanism, one I was not expecting at all. It's kind of like a deep hinge-handled "basket" that catches your scraps. The stopper is a separate piece. I like it. I don't typically fill my sink so just having the strainer option is a plus. Plus the basket holds more and is easier to clean than the traditional style (no center post to work around). And when I insert it I don't inadvertently put it in the "stop" position and have to reposition it. Some people will like this, some won't. I personally think it's a plus.7) The grate is a snug, perfect fit. I'm so, so happy I read almost every review and question before purchasing! I read that the grate is tight and could be an issue if you have stone counters with a lip. When they came to template for Quartz I was very specific to tell them I needed a straight cut for the sink, no overlap at all. Their standard was a small lip. Had they done that I most certainly would have run into issues with the grate (I would need to tilt it when removing or cleaning underneath). As long as you consider this and plan accordingly, it is not an issue. I love the modern look of the flush cut sink and would absolutely do it again. However I would have been very annoyed if my stone had been cut with a standard lip and I was struggling with the grate daily.8) I'm going to jump back to the size for a minute. It's long, wide and deep. Which I love. But the depth come with a small price. A) if, like me, you were hoping for a single/double pull out garbage for under your sink, good luck with that. I've tried 3 brands/sizes and because of the depth of this sink, they don't fit by as little as 1/8". If anyone finds one to fit a standard height kitchen base cabinet please message me!! I have had no luck so have a freestanding barrel under the sink. Bummer, but not a dealbreaker. B) I am 5'6" and if I'm washing many dishes in the sink it can take a toll on your back. You are definitely reaching down into the sink to get your work done. Taller folks might want to consider this when purchasing.** Cons:9) As many reviewers have already stated, the pitch in this sink isn't enough to move the food and water into the strainer. You WILL swirl items around with a sprayer a few time and then probably still have to use a sponge to coerce the scraps away. It's annoying. I don't like it and I wish it was designed differently. HOWEVER, I love almost everything else about this sink so much that I can overlook this flaw.Summary:With a few exceptions, this is a wonderful sink. Considering the (comparably) reasonable price tag, I'm willing to accept the flaws in exchange for it's affordable beauty and functionality. I would purchase it again.
Is it wrong to love a kitchen sink?
February 6, 2014
This is a high quality sink, packaged beautifully, nice & heavy, really spacious. We can fit our largest roasting pan entirely inside it. (My husband is 6'3" and he fits too, folded like a jack-knife.) I like the drain-at-the-back design because it affords more usable space in the cabinet below. In the photo the corners appear linear - other reviewers said tight corners are difficult to keep clean - but in real life the corners are rounded nicely, easy to wash. The extras that come with it are actually useful.

VERY Quiet, Fast Garbage Disposer Unit
September 9, 2017
I did some online research before choosing this unit. And it was highly recommended. SO MUCH QUIETER than my previously installed garbage disposer, which admittedly was quite old. This one works VERY well and quickly. I do NOT recommend Amazon's installation option as I scheduled three no-show appointments before getting a private plumber to install this unit. In fairness, Amazon did apologize and give me a small credit for the inconvenience.
Would recommend
August 8, 2017
Love this disposal. It is very quiet and gets the job done. I wouldn't say it was easy to install because working upsidedown under the sink is never easy. But that's not the unit's fault. The unit itself went in easy enough. The directions, for the most part, were understandable even to a novice, and it fit under my sink without taking up much space. This unit was not rated the quietest, but it sure IS quiet! I'm not a heavy user of the product (don't cook a lot), but, so far, I'm glad I got it.
Definitely Quieter than a base model
December 23, 2016
Bought this as a replacement for a Badger 80 ss that was previously installed in my house. The previous one had finally started to leak through the bottom which is apparently how disposals typically fail these days. This model was easy to install for a average do it your selfer. You do need some plumbers putty to replace the drain in the sink to fit this and a few other tools that you typically will have. It comes with two discharge plumbing pieces that fit the typical instillations, a 90 degree short elbow and a approximately 12 inch straight discharge, I ended up having to buy another straight discharge from a big box home supply store as I cut mine a bit too short by hurrying and the aftermarket one fit just fine. This unit is very quiet and has minimal vibration thus far. I am very pleased with the upgrade over my older model that was quite loud. Previously conversation had to pause when you hit the switch on my old one but this thing is quiet enough that i can hit the switch and continue conversation in a normal tone and still be heard. Cant speak to longevity yet but my previous insinkerator lasted at least 9 years which is probably better than average for the cheap version it was. No regrets paying a bit more for this model.
Big improvement over Badger-5, quieter, less vibration
October 9, 2016
Wow, what an improvement over the old Badger-5 unit that it replaced. This is built like a tank, solid construction, much better design, much much quieter and a lot less vibration. I was able to install two units in about 2.5 hours and this was my first time doing it. You do need to order the separate power cord (unless you want to reuse a cord from your old disposal). Some tips on installation if replacing an older Badger-5 unit:- the two units are nearly identical in terms of installation dimensions, but the Evolution protrudes slightly more to the side by about half an inch, but this should not be a problem since most drainage pipe has enough give to just push it into place- removing the old unit is the most difficult part, you need to use the special tool, insert it in the collar and knock it really hard with a hammer, eventually, it will come loose and come out- the outlet down pipe may need to be cut slightly, on one unit I had to cut it to fit, on the other unit, no cutting required, this will depend on you plumbing - just cut it to the same size as the pipe on your Badger-5- DON'T FORGET to knock out the upper drainage if you are connecting a dishwasher to it, if not, then do not knock out, see instructions- check out the videos on YouTube, just look for "InSinkErator Evolution"
Great disposal, good power and really quiet.
December 8, 2015
I've had this installed and been using it for just over 2.5 weeks now. Everything is working great with it and it is significantly quieter than the lower priced Insinkerator Badger series and a Kenmore model that I had. It is so quiet that it almost sounds like it might not be working correctly.I haven't had any major large food clogs or anything large to dispose of yet, but what I have ran through so far has gone down fine.I wasn't sure if I should get this Compact version of the Evolution series or one of the larger models, but this has 3/4 HP which is more than plenty for household needs - only the Evolution Excel has more at 1HP and is over $300 - the other Evolutions are also 3/4HP.Although it is smaller than the other Evolution models, the Compact actually still has a 34.6 oz. grind chamber which is only 5.4 oz. smaller than the larger Evolution models (40 oz.) and still larger than the Badger 5X series which has only a 26 oz. grind chamber. The Evolution Compact ranks in the middle of the Insinkerator quiet scale (a 3 out of 5, 1 being quietest, 5 being the loudest) compared to the other Evolution models, but I don't need anything quieter than this and am very satisfied with the quietness of this model.I will note that the upper portion of this is a bit larger in diameter than a traditional disposal (assume it is due to sound insulation), so keep that in mind with your plumbing and cabinet space, especially if your sink drain is further to the rear than in the center of the sink bowl. I Have this in a 60/40 sink which has the drains further to the rear - it is installed in a 36" wide cabinet. My sink drain line is center and it got a little tight to my main drain pipe and vent with about an inch to spare. I don't think it is a major issue for most, but just be aware. You can likely adjust your plumbing lines around this in a worse case scenario.I have it connected to a Insinkerator countertop air button and that's also working great. Also have a dishwasher draining connected to it as well. So far so good!
It was surprisingly easy to install this product
November 21, 2015
It was surprisingly easy to install this product. I watched a few YouTube videos. Normally when you watch the video, it's not nearly that east to install...Trust me, it really is that easy. The only part for me that sucked was that I didn't need to purchase the power cord and the dishwasher attachment. That was $10 I didn't need to spend. Having said that, go ahead and purchase the extra stuff cause you might need it.I love this thing. It's so much better than my Badger 1. That 1/3 HP garbage disposal was so loud, I'm sure my neighbors jumped when I used it. The new on is so much better. Quiet and will eat anything. One thing I'm debating on. The little rubber cover you can put over the mouth of the disposal. My brother has the same disposal and doesn't use the cover, so you can see inside the working so the disposal. It's kinda creepy. What I've discovered is if you don't use the cover, then when you use the disposal, stuff splashes around outside the sink, so I would suggest to use the cover.Love it! Buy one!

We just got it installed with our new counter tops and I really like it so far
June 25, 2017
This sink is HUGE! We just got it installed with our new counter tops and I really like it so far. I will say that I can foresee it being a tad hard to keep clean because it doesn't drain perfectly (water and food seems to sit in the bottom). I'll plan to take out the thing in the bottom a couple times a week and wipe down with Barkeeper's Friend. I just did it this morning and noticed a small spot of rust that wiped away with a sponge and barkeeper's friend. Overall I really like it and would definitely purchase again, just keep in mind that it does require some maintenance. We were used to maintenance because our old sink had to be cleaned extremely often, more so than this sink. An unexpected benefit/detriment is that it's SO large that dishes sit in the bottom of the sink and aren't immediately visible so I'm not as bothered by them, haha. I am so excited that we can finally fit an entire cookie sheet in the sink with room to spare, and don't have to worry about food going in the wrong drain. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this sink and this seems to be the best one on the market, despite its very few drawbacks. I'd definitely purchase again.I'm pregnant with our first child and can't wait to give the baby baths in the sink. We had my three year old niece over and she would have easily fit in the sink so I look forward to bathing our child in it for years to come.
Beautiful and large sink
June 6, 2017
This is a beautiful and large sink. I've had it since Feb. 2017 and it's been one of my favorite additions to our kitchen remodel. The only thing I dislike about it is that it can be difficult to clean since it's so wide. In addition, I use the draining rack inside of my sink so that part can be difficult to clean as well. At least a couple of times a week, I will scrub the sink really good (removing the rack). Afterwards, I will put the rack back in and fill the sink with hot water and bleach as recommended by some other reviewers. This sanitizes it really well. Overall, a great purchase and practical sink.
Super awesome deep, great looking sink BUT problems installing because it was SO deep!
July 11, 2016
This sink is great, super deep, huge and looks amazing in the kitchen. Only downside for us (and the reason I took off a star) is that we had serious problems with the installation because it was so deep. The plumber couldn't do the normal install and couldn't install the strainer and basket that came with it which to me was very aesthetically pleasing - much more than the standard size one he put in there. It fit fine in the cabinet width wise, we installed into a 36" wide cabinet, but it was just so deep that I'm worried we will have future plumbing issues.
I am happy with the soundproofing
February 5, 2016
The right rear corner of the sink was pronouncedly out of square. The corner is pushed back farther than the walls on each side of it.That said, I am happy with the soundproofing, durability, gauge, finish, etc. for the relatively affordable price that I got the sink for.-3 stars for the poorly manufactured corner not being caught before leaving the plant. +1 for overall being OK and the price that I bought the sink at being relatively low. +1 for the other included items being better than expected. If our disposal ever goes out I will replace it with the included strainer. The sink does scratch - maybe just a tad more than I expected,It is somewhat diffictult to clean off bits off food due to a fairly flat bottom - but having worked in commercial kitchen, which have similiar bottoms, I expected that.I think that we would have been just about as happy with the sink that is 2" shorter in length and 1" shorted front to back. But this big sink makes doing dishes much more enjoyable than having done them in a smaller sink.
I absolutely love this sink!
August 16, 2014
I absolutely love this sink, and everyone who has seen it, loved it. The size is perfect, and I can wash every pot and pan I have in it. My only complaint is that I had to return it twice because of scratches when I received it. I finally had to call Amazon and asked them to inspect it before sending it the 3rd time. I recommend that if you're planning on getting this sink, make sure you have a spray faucet. The food stays on the sink unless if you spray them into the drain. I got the Kraus KPF-1602 Single Lever Pull Out Kitchen Faucet with it, and the combination is fantastic if you like the commercial grade look.
Great Sink for the price
September 19, 2013
We recently remodeled our kitchen and after many reviews went with this choice. After three weeks, very happy with it. We priced a lot of sinks, and were amazed at how much $$ many were. This was a great price for the size and quality. The rack that sits in the bottom of the sink that came with it is awesome and very useful. The sink looks great and has a nice sturdy feel to it. My only advice is that if you get a big tub sink like this, make sure you have a faucet head that can detach and move around in order to spray the sink down. Otherwise you'll constantly end up with stuff in the corners unless you fill up a cup of water and flush it out. However, I imagine that would be true of all tub sinks.

Good product
September 20, 2016
My only con on this purchase was that I did not realize the electrical cords do not come with product. Plumber installed then informed us that either the electrician or we ourselves could install the electrical cords. This really should be done before installing. Apparently many appliances require the owner to order or buy the electrical cords. Expensive GE dishwasher same deal. We were able to purchase through Home Depot for 11.99 a piece and then my husband is very handy and he was able to attach the electrical cords himself. Other than that little hiccup we are ver satisfied with the product overall and were able to purchase for half of what we would have bought in town.
Great product but no excuse for charging extra for a cord!
August 17, 2015
I bought this because a new counter top and under mounted sink reduced the distance between the sink drain and the wall opening for the drain. This disposal gave me an additional inch to work with, and although it barely worked, it DID work. That inch was critical. The good part was that I junked a working disposal that was under powered and over loud. This 3/4 hp disposal is ultra quiet, and will grind anything a rational person would put in it with ease, and very, very quietly. I would have given it 4 stars, but there is really no excuse for not shipping it with a cord already attached. The vast majority of people have that kind of connection. The cost of a Chinese (that's where the disposal is manufactured) power cord would be pennies. This is an artificial way of pricing the machine that is almost fraudulent, as most people will have to plunk down $12 more to make it operable. Far cheaper disposals have the power cord attached. All my other kitchen appliances came with cords with the exception of the dishwasher, where electric codes sometimes dictate wiring via a nonmetallic cable, or armored cable, came with cords!I cheated the cheaters by cutting off the cord from my old disposal, stripping the insulation, and properly matching the hot and neutral wires, and attaching the green ground wire to the screw on the disposal. No doubt they will soon package the mounting mechanism and charge extra for it as well!I'm sure the accountants figured this out, just as the airlines now charge to check your baggage which is an artificial way of adding to the cost of your airline tickets.
Quieter than our previous model
July 11, 2015
Price was decent. Installed this myself in a Blanco Precis Super Single Bowl kitchen sink. It has gotten a little more noisy over time but overall much quieter than our previous, lower end InSinkErator. Performs well with bulkier vegetable peels. The rubber gasket where the water runs in from the sink is sealed a bit too well, this is likely by design to help reduce the noise. The only issue is that larger peels and pieces of food can build up at the gasket if they don't go through and you end up using a utensil or fingers to nudge the food threw the rubber gasket. Purchased the InSinkErator CRD-00 power code with this unit.
Good improvement over Badger series
November 13, 2014
This disposer replaces Insinkerator Badger 5X that broke after 6+ yrs or so. Ordered it and received the disposer in two days as expected. Plumber installed it. Works well. It is probably 40% quieter than the one before. Not a mega improvement but a welcome improvement. I also give it good grades on the overall footprint under sink. I have a tight under sink area and this compact disposer definitely helps a lot. It also looks a bit cleaner than the dated looking cast-iron Badger. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase. Lastly, for those of you considering Badger, compare Badger and Evolution and I highly recommend Evo series because of its sleek looks, less footprint, two blades as opposed to one in Badger (you get three blades in Evo Excellence but that was an overkill for my undersink area), and 40% quieter. Baffle is removable. Worth every penny. These do not come with power cord so if you need one, order one! Happy recycling!
Quiet disposer, powerful, straightforward to install, with ONE small flaw
June 21, 2014
I recently purchased this to replace a 5-year old In Sink Erator whose bearings had jammed up.Pros:* Easy to install -- follow the instructions or the many online guides. If you're doing it yourself, it's a little tough to attach it to the coupling given its weight, but with some perseverance you can do it.* It's VERY quiet* It's powerful, more powerful than the one I had beforeCons:* Only one minor one -- the way the supplied rubber thing on top sits in the sink drain, water doesn't flow into the drain easily. I think they did this to make sure spoons don't fall down there easily, but definitely the rubber is much stiffer (and perhaps the opening narrower) than the one I had before. The solution is to pull the rubber out and cut off a few millimeters out of each fin sticking out the bottom. Keep iterating on this until water flows smoothly to your satisfaction.
Big Improvement
December 24, 2013
Bought a brand new house, and the builder had installed a Badger 1. While it did the job, it was noisy (kind of like a badger). It also didn't grind up foods very well and frequently clogged the pipes under the sink. So after several years of having to take apart the plumbing to clear clogs (and my wife getting aggravated with a sink full of nasty water), I decided to look for a good two-stage disposer that would do a better job. This is the one. Since this disposer is physically larger than the Badger 1, it took me an afternoon to redo the pipes under the sink to make room for this disposer. While I could have reused the sink flange from my Badger, I opted to replace it with the shiny new flange that came with the Evolution. Quick note: If you have a solid surface sink (like Corian or similar), don't use plumber's putty - use clear silicone, so as not to discolor the Corian. The plumber that did the original installation had used silicone, and it took a while to scrape off the old stuff.I will agree with most reviewers that the Evolution is quiet, much more so than the Badger, but you can still hear it humming when it is running. I too am having the issue with the water flow through the black rubber sink baffle - small pieces of food can block the hole and cause the water to back up into the sink. Pushing the baffle open with a spoon lets the water flow more freely. There are slits on opposite sides of the baffle presumably to assist venting of the grinding chamber, but if the water is turned on too much (even with no food particles in the sink), the baffle fills up and the slits go underwater. Again, pressure on the baffle opens things up. Seems as though air gets trapped in the grinding chamber. The problems with the baffle are frustrating, and I may call Insinkerator to see if there are any options. I would put up with a little more noise to have the water flow more freely. One star off for the baffle design. UPDATE 1/22/14: I did call Insinkerator and described the problem. It took some discussion, but they finally agreed to send me a different baffle. It took a few weeks to get it - the new one does have a slightly different design. Installed it and no more problems with the sink filling up with water. It does allow slightly more noise to come out of the grinding chamber as I suspected it would. When food waste does make its way into the Evolution Compact disposer, it's history; stuff that I used to scrape off into the trash can now goes down the drain. The Evolution Compact makes quick work of it, and doesn't seem to labor at all.My original Badger was hard wired, so not having a power cord was not a problem for me. Check your installation before ordering to see if you need to add the cord.Oh by the way, with the Evolution installation and the plumbing modification, no more clogs!

Really doesn't drain great. Needs a bit more of a slant to drain. Accessories are gimmicky if you have garbage disposal.
August 17, 2017
I had a garbage disposal so I didn't use 90% of the accessories. The sink really does not drain well, as many people complain. So if you have any food your cleaning you have to spend an extra 30 seconds to brush it down the disposal, everything just lays flat on the surface. So we also couldn't use the drying rack consistently because it became difficult to get all the food down the drain with our a brush to guide it. I went with the big model, once installed there is no going back (glued to marble, high risk to damage everything). I'd suggest something with a greater slope.
Get a long reach sprayer!
May 11, 2017
The size and look of the of the sink is awesome! It is both deep and wide and allows huge pots and dishes to sit side by side. I left borh a long baking dish and a large Dutch oven in it to soak overnight last night and there was room to spare. The reason it's not more stars is that the water doesn't drain easily from the basin so am always chasing food with the sprayer. I've had large single basin sinks before without this issue so a bit disappointed. Make sure you have a faucet with a sprayer that can reach!

Scratches Easily
November 29, 2016
I've had this sink installed for about a month now. It looks great overall. Its large and deep. The finish is very shinny! I love the grate that it came with. Here's the draw back.... It scratches very easily!!! Very Easily! I have been incredibly careful with this sink and I still have several scratches on the bottom and the sides. Its a kitchen sink... it should be more durable then it is. I am nervous to see what it looks like in a year. It also leaves water marks like crazy and needs to be polished weekly. If you're a perfectionist, you probably shouldn't get this sink!
The sink is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately

The sink is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, I bought it in Feb, but just had the chance to install now, and noticed that it had two rust spot... very disappointing - and it's too late to return it.

This sink definitely comes packaged well. It's fitted in Styrofoam and comes in a duster bag (like an expensive purse). I had it professionally installed so I can't comment on that part. It seems thick and doesn't give off a "ping" sound. My one concern was about a week after it was installed, I noticed tiny pinhole rust marks (on the bottom of sink and walls of sink) and a couple of larger rust marks (on the walls of sink, near the top). At that point, it had only been used 2 or 3 times as we weren't completely done with our kitchen remodel yet. I cleaned it with Bar Keeper's Friend and they haven't come back. I've also noticed that the sink needs to be dried after every use or hard water spots will show up once dry. I guess this has more to do with my water quality but on my old stainless sink I didn't have this problem. The grid that comes with it is nice but even with the protective plastic covers on the feet, it leaves marks on the sink. I'm not sure if all grids have this problem as I didn't use one in my old stainless sink. Overall this sink is an excellent buy considering the price. Every sink out there seems to have its cons so I'm happy with my decision to go with this sink and save a few hundred dollars.

Some Cheap Parts
January 17, 2017
The disposal is quiet. In fact, I wonder if it is actually working, was used to that grinding noise in the past! Installation directions were good, was able to put it in myself, (with a helper, too heavy to hold up with one person) however, it still took over 3 hours, we had to go to the store to get parts didn't tell we needed up front. (Plumber's putty). What I DON"T like is the rubber baffle that keeps stuff from falling into the disposal. It is flimsy, doesn't seem to hold into the opening well, the first time I used the disposal, the stupid thing fell into the unit and had to drag it out before it got chewed up and wreaked it! Isn't stiff enough to be correct. The plastic stopper is also cheap. Used to my old unit that had more heavy duty components that were better. Will have to watch this one all the time. If not for this, I would give it 5 stars.
Grinds well but water doesn't drain well
December 24, 2016
Grinds food well, but water does not flow through the rubber guard very well. This is disappointing, since I have always been a big fan of Insinkerator.
It's still better than the less expensive models
December 11, 2016
This is much louder than I would of thought. I have previously ordered a Evolution quit InSinkErator and it was very quiet. I suppose due to the dual blades it just is louder. It's still better than the less expensive models.
Works well but rusting in the first few weeks
February 21, 2016
Works well, is *very* quiet, and was easy for a novice to install with a helper. My wife commented that she wished it was louder so she really knew it was on. I'm a little nervous about rust that I'm seeing after only having it for a few weeks. I'm not sure what's normal, but I think it's really early to see any rusting - guess time will tell if it matters.
Great Disposal, Terrible Baffle
March 25, 2015
There are a lot of plusses to this. Very compact, it fits well under a sink in a 30 inch space. It's very compact and has a clean and simple look. In fairness, most people don't spend a lot of time under their sinks looking at disposals, but still, its nice that it looks good. Very simple installation, I'm not a plumber, but it only took a few minutes. It will take two people to tighten the retaining collar, but still, not difficult. What I hate about it - The baffle for in the sink. It is so constrained that water barely gets down it. If our sink is on full, water comes out of it faster than it goes down, it's better if you turn the disposal on, but I shouldn't need to turn it on when I'm washing my hands. If you get any food at all in the baffle, it clogs it and you need to push it through. Do this with it on using a spoon or what not and risk the wrath of the whirling grinders at the bottom. Alternatively, turn it off and open it by hand. But wait, doesn't that defeat the process of having a disposal, if you don't use it? Why yes it does. New baffles are only about $7 so I'm going to try cutting mine somewhat and seeing if that helps. Seriously though. I spent a lot of money on this, why do I need to use a utility knife to make it work like it should?
Good, not great.
January 4, 2015
Bought this for our kitchen remodel project. Super quiet. However out of the box it had a grinding noise that made it louder than expected prior to actual use. It sounded like a screw or some plastic part was stuck in it. Could not find one. But I had it installed so I left it for a week to see if it would eventually pass. After actual use that grinding noise has minimized. But it still there. Just quieter. It is very quiet other than the slight continual grinding noise. I suspect the motor or grinders are slightly out of balance. Not sure. It isn't bad enough to tear out and replace. But had I known it was going to make this noise I would not have installed it. It does a great job grinding food. Works flawlessly otherwise.

Hard to get food particles down drain. Have to wipe it clean daily. Not enough of a dip down near drain. Too large. Should have gotten one size smaller so faucet pull out met farther down. Also grate is too large to fit in dishwasher and is hard to clean.

July 13, 2017
Be careful it will scratch very easily. It has a polished finish so it will show fine scratches from a wash cloth. It takes forever to rinse items down the drain. It does not drain well. there is always a small amount of water that does not make it to the drain. The sink is level and installed properly.
bad design for function
April 15, 2016
Looks nice, awesome price for what you get with it, but the water puddles at the base of the sink because the slope of the base is not enough. This means after anytime the water is on, you have to wipe down the sink and its a PUDDLE, not just a little bit of water splashing. So for look nice, for function...terrible.
Like the design and it's quiet
August 25, 2014
Plastic feet on the bottom grate mark the stainless steel finish...only notice when cleaning the bottom. Scratches much easier than the 12 year old Blanco it replaced which is interesting as both are 16 gauge. Like the design and it's quiet. Would return due to poor quality but would cost me more to unhook/hook up faucet/hot water and take out/reinstall.
Extremely dissatisfied
May 9, 2014
I remodeled my kitchen and purchased this under mount kitchen for the large island in the middle. I went with Kraus assuming that it is a good brand and this will translate into good quality. The sink developed stains at the base within few weeks of its use. This is supposed to be STAINLESS and I was shocked to see those stains. Since the sink has been under mounted, there is nothing that I can do at this stage expect never to buy Kraus products again
Looks good, good quality, but just practical for every day use
October 15, 2013
I have no gripes with the sink when it comes to looks. We have a modern style and this compliments it nicely. However, as another reviewer said, the bottom has so little incline towards the drain that you will be spending quite a bit of time hosing food particles down the drain. I read the previous review mentioning this and didn't think it was a big deal, don't want others to make my mistake.Had I realized what a pain it is to spend at least a minute hosing the sink down towards the drain every time I use the sink, I wouldn't have not purchased it and looked for a similar design with a steeper bottom (which wouldn't affect the look at all). After two months of use, in my opinion, the sink is impractical for every day use. That is, unless you don't mind constantly looking at food particles until the maid comes or you decide to do a full cleaning. If the sink is more for display purposes and rarely used, then I recommend it.Site note: I gave up using the included grate because it required even more time to clean. Even with it out, it's constant work keeping the sink from looking dirty from food particles.

Rust developed on one of grind "stainless" components in two months after the disposal's installation.
September 23, 2017
One of grind impellers, or lugs, mounted on a spinning plate, became covered by rust after two months since thisdisposal has been installed though specification mentioned that grind components were made of stainless steel.
Disappointed. Don't understand all the 5 star reviews.
September 3, 2017
Unimpressed. Doesn't come with a cord. That's a crappy move.Baffle doesn't allow water or food to drain, requires modification. Not really quiet, sounds cheap.Do not recommend.
Exceptionally quiet and high quality, but the slow sink baffle is annoying. UPDATE: Poor grinding ability ruins the disposer.
September 4, 2015
My Badger 5 had a "feature" where if you overloaded the grind chamber ever so slightly, it would explode the trap under the sink and spew water and foodstuffs all over the interior of the cabinets. Although I love excitement as much as the next guy I am sure you can see why this is sub-optimal.Enter the Evolution Compact.PROS:1. Installation took 15 minutes from start to finish. I can't stress enough how easy it was. The plumbing rough-ins are identical and the overall footprint is about the same.2. This thing is nearly silent when it's running. While the Badger was appropriately named, I'd call this one "Silent but deadly."3. The grinding capability is superior to the Badger in every way. While I haven't stuffed it with potato peels or shrimp shells, I cannot wait for the opportunity to push this to its limits. If I have a p-trap explosion again I will be incredibly surprised.CONS:1. Expensive - I went with this over the Waste King L-8000 for ease of installation, but it's nearly twice the price. I doubt it's twice as good.2. Slow drain - The Quiet Collar Sink Baffle is the key to the quiet operation - While the Badger's sink baffle was open and allowed food/water to drain easily, the Evolution Compact is much slower/tighter. This is because a "water dam" forms on top of it to keep the sound down. When you operate the Badger or Evolution Compact dry, they sound nearly identical. With the water running, the Evolution Compact is almost completely silent. It's still a pain in the butt.3. When I installed the Badger 5, I took about a half an hour to square up the sink flange and make it perfectly straight. Upon installing the Evolution Compact I overtightened it ever so slightly and moved the flange about 5 degrees. Naturally, this makes me want to burn my house to the ground as it's obviously ruined. You may be more tolerant than me, though.UPDATE 1/20/16:I have come to hate this disposer. Yes, it's still silent. Yes, it's reliable. But it is amazing to me the things that this disposer WON'T grind. Lemons, brussels sprouts, garlic peels, sausage casings - All of them will sit in the chamber indefinitely, no matter how long you run the unit. If I had to do it over again I'd spring for a higher-end unit or a Waste-King. Disappointed.

December 19, 2014
This is a quite disposer and works well, but the rubber insert holds food in the sink and does not draw it down when the unit is on. You have to use your hand to shove food down and that is never a good thing. I am looking for a replacement insert for the drain now.
Unit damaged on arrival
December 16, 2014
Great Price/Great Disposal if it workedItem as sold as refurbished. I was fine with that aspect. Unit was clean with all parts included on arrival. It was obvious the carton had been opened - again I was ok with that as the product description stated that carton might be opened. This particular model is available to the trades exclusively -not available at retail. Since the unit arrived with a 3 prong plug already attached, I plugged it in to see if it worked - and - NO - obvious from horrific sound something was amiss inside the unit.Hassle of not having unit available and having to run out and get one outweighed the modest savings of buying a refurbished unit.
Leaked at seam & poor splash guard design
November 29, 2013
Started leaking in first 2 weeks! Appeared to have hairline crack in seam of chamber. Either a lemon or just cheap materials.Splash guard at sink also isn't well designed. The splash guard is inserted after installation. When we removed leaking device, we found particles of food debris were already starting to accumulate under metal ridge of neck. Yuck! That never happened with older InSinkErator we were replacing, which has splash guard built into the disposal neck.Good feature - sound insulation; the disposal was nearly silent when turned on. I had to look through rubber splash guard just to confirm it was actually working! Never seen one so quiet.

Sink upkeep makes it not worthwhile
February 5, 2017
Really don't like this sink.1. Lack of slope of sink makes the water not drain well.2. Because of this, the sink spots up unless you dry it after every use.3. Who wants to dry their sink after every use?We end up washing dishes in the bathroom when we just have a few dishes because it is such a pain to deal with this sink.Do yourself a favor and buy a sink that has brushed stainless steel and one with a larger slope for drainage!
The sink gets scratches so easily.
December 7, 2016
I got the sink installed two days ago and it looks great. But oh my gosh, this sink gets scratches so easily. It is unbelievable. The descriptions of the sink say it is scratch and stain-resistant. It is definitely not true. It is too late for me to return it. I am extremely disappointed.

April 12, 2016
First of all, as to the size and the style of the sink...I do like it. I especially like the rack in the bottom and the size of the sink. But there is ONE THING I do NOT like about this sink. There are blemishes that look like corrosion popping up all over the sink. They are not rust, but the sink was not first quality and was not advertised as a "second." I would not have purchased it had I known. I am stuck with it (undermount...granite) for now, so I hope it does not get holes in it. I would not purchase from this vendor again.

February 21, 2016
I would recommend that you do not trust the overall rating and do more research about the negatives of this product. I have been able to enjoy this sink for about two months. The steal the sink is made of cannot be called "stainless." Gray spots along with orange rust appeared all over (even in the seem between the glue and the sink). The only way to remove those gray spots was to remove the protective coating of the sink, which only worsened the problem and made me miss my old 20 year old sink. The Kraus support argued that stainless steal does not rust and that I must have used steal wool. I don't own a single piece of steal wool. I used a soft sponge and soap to clean the sink.
Beware, this sink rusted the first month I used it,
July 28, 2015
BEWARE!!!! Rust after 1 month of use!!!!!!!! After lots of research and reading tons of reviews I purchased this sink. It arrived and looked great. We remodeled our kitchen and had the granite cut to fit this sink. Everything went in perfectly and looked great. After sever days of use, I noticed something under the wire rack that fits in the bottom of the sink to protect it from scratches. I assume it was food crud. I was SHOCKED AND HORRIFIED to see that it was RUST! I am trying to get some answers from the company, but nothing yet. I have put no chemicals in the sink, only soap and water. The biggest problem is at the granit is cut to fit this exact sink. I am incredibly upset. I used an abrasive spong and removed the rust and of course it scratched the sink horribly. Buyer beware!! If you need a cheap utility sink, go for it, but I would spend the money and get a better product for your kitchen,
