Side by Side Comparison of: LEGO

Got this set for my six year old son, who is in love with Minecraft and Lego in equal parts. Even though it says 8+ he has been doing sets in this age range for quite a while. He was able to follow the instructions from start to finish, and we are both really happy with the end result. The fact the house is on hinges and can be split apart really adds to the appeal, and the little touches inside, like the bed, crafting table, and wall mount for the little Minecraft axe really sold the spirit of the set. He has one or two other Minecraft sets, and I think they are all on a similar "platform" structure that has let him connect the sets together. Or maybe he did that on his own, but either way, he has gotten a lot of play out of this set, and the quality of the pieces and attention to detail has been great.

It seems like every children these days is into Minecraft and of course Legos are so fun to play with. I purchased 2 of these sets for my 11 year old son and my nephew who is 7. Both sets had all the pieces in them and the instructions. They had a blast following the instructions and building this set to add to their collection. I would recommend for anyone who likes Legos and enjoys Minecraft.

It's a great Lego set. But, there is a flaw in this product. Some pieces are too complicated to fit with others.Warning: Don't press down too hard or it will BREAK!! :(

As the executive officer of a forward deployed maintenance company I find that basically everything is very very serious all the time even when it doesn't have to be. I bought this, built it, and put it on my desk. People who come to my office play with it all the time. There is a time for seriousness. There is also a time to just chill and let Steve run things. Love me some LEGO.

This Minecraft Lego set is adorable, but watch out for the creeper! I gave this set away to a 10 year old for her birthday. She had no problem building it on her own. The set it great and like the other Minecraft sets, can be connected to the others and altered in anyway you'd like, just like the Minecraft world. This set includes Steve, and creeper, and a pink. The Minecraft Lego animals are adorable. The Farm includes a sheep and cow, which as also cute. This Lego set will please any Minecraft fan.

Lego Minecraft The First Night is fun and engaging. My 8 yo son and I were delighted during the build...and he seems to find endless play possibilities with it (especially when combined with The Cave and The Farm as we got all three at the same time). The First Night is more substantial than the other two sets just mentioned and has a "complete package" feel such that if you don't get any other of the Lego/MC sets this one is the way to go. The sets fit together fantastically. And all of the sets have the true Lego/MC "signature" spirit of follow instructions/do your own thing/combine/rebuild, etc. that makes them very versatile and deeply satisfying. Our next set to build will be The Crafting Box (already ordered) which focuses on this MOC spirit (btw: MOC=my own creation). Not sure about The Mine and The End (of course son wants them all!)---those are the most expensive of the current 6-set Lego/MC wave. Perhaps another Crafting Box or two is the way we will go; combining the three sets we have with two or three Crafting Box sets will immediately, exponentially open up so many building possibilities it will be almost like the "real" Minecraft!

My nephew loved this. Legos are always fun. Instructions were clear. Arrived very quickly.

This is the perfect toy to balance out time spent on games,computer etc. This Lego set gives child quite time and encourage creativity for ages 6-12, In my opinion even a 14 year old would enjoy this Lego set. My son is a fan of Lego and I just love it.

Very high playset value. The two vehicles offer great features. My son loves the flick fire missiles and the dot launcher on the hydra vehicle was neat as well -- however the dots are small and go further than you think.The build was easy enough for my son to follow pretty well and clear. Obviously the most fun was putting them to use against one another.

legos how can you go wrong

My grandson was very happy to get this for Christmas. Minecraft toys are very popular for a variety of ages and LEGOs are always fun.

Really cute set! I bought it for my five year old and he's playing with it with his mini figures. The pieces are sometimes are to stick together.

This was a Christmas gift for a very close friend of mine daughter. All I know that she was excited to have received the gift and could not wait to begin putting it together......

My little girl (age 7) loved building this and playing with it once it was built. It seems a little pricey, at least compared to the Lego-knockoff competition, but it's a solid set, easy for a 7-year-old to build, and the final build is sturdy enough to play with.

My son loves Minecraft and loved putting this together. It was a great addition to his other Minecraft legos. Just wish Legos in general weren't so expensive compared to what they used to be.

Well recv'd as X-Mas Gift for 5 yr. old boy!

Avengers Hydra Showdown is exactly as advertised; an entertaining and delightful set, perfect for children. However, upon careful inspection of the LEGO set, I found myself unimpressed. The Jeep-like Avengers vehicle, although sporting a clever design at first glance, after consideration leaves much to be desired. The vehicle is entirely without doors, leaving the driver vulnerable to the whimsy of war. Not only that, this facade of a tactical vehicle has no roof on the cab, furthering the exposed position of the driver. Atop the cargo compartment perches a hideous contraption loaded with LEGO's nod to the violent demographic - the absurd flick fire missile. What a Jeep-imitation is doing with a missile cannon I do not know, but nevertheless there it sits, wrapped in lurid rotating glory upon the rear portion of the vehicle.I began my modification of the design almost immediately, and have pulled together several suggestions I would advise the LEGO company to consider. First of all, safety first. The cab must be better protected; in this case, I'd consider doors and a roof. I took the liberty of lowering the driver's seat to give him a lower center of mass and a better protected position in case of collision. With little regret, I replaced missile-launcher with a communications array. I believe that with more time and effort, I can improve the design of this vehicle to the point that even it's original creators would be unable to recognize it as the same vulgar construct it began as.And don't get me started on the Hydra car...

This is a Christmas present for one of my students and though I haven't checked it out I'm sure he'll love it. He has a thing for Legos and has autism. So this will keep him engaged for hours. It came in a timely fashion, right on time.

I really like the minifigures with this set.I only gave it 4 stars due to the vehicles. The Jeep wasn't too bad but the Hydra vehicle wasn't too awesome.But, it's a Lego product, parts can always be used else where and the minifigures were welcome.

Great minifigures and avengers truck but the hydra vehicle breaks apart easily

Ordered this as one of my 10 yr old's birthday gifts. My kids LOVE lego sets, especially StarWars, but they always seem to complain that the Minecraft sets dont stay together well. They build one and it falls apart on them. They always say this when it comes to Minecraft Lego kits. Im not sure why.

Me and my brother had a fun time building it. We knew that after we got done building it would be ready to play with! But when we started to play it kept breaking, so we ended up just breaking part of it and rebuilding it over and over. One big problem we had was the "base plates", they were weak and flimsy. When it broke pressing the piece back down would lead to breaking everything else. Over all it was fun to build and it looked awesome when we finished, but out childish desires of playing with it we not satisfied.

At first, I wasn't interested in getting the Minecraft (minifigure scale) sets from LEGO, but once we saw them in person at our local store, my kids wanted to get a few of them, mostly so they could built whatever they came up with, not following the instructions. This set is fantastic, though to my mind the price is way too high for what you get. However, Minecraft is popular and the creeper is a must-have figure, so this one was a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the house is very small, which makes sense for the size of the set and the nature of the game (starter houses in Minecraft are always bare-bones), but it would have been nice to get more "extra" pieces to work with in terms of "wood, dirt and grass" to allow for more creations beyond the basic house theme, but there are still lots of potential for building outside of the box and the figures are fantastic!

Just like with all LEGO products, it was a hit with my 6year old son.

Box came bent but otherwise fine

This has been on of the more disappointing Lego builds that my son and I have completed. I thought that it would be a worthwhile set due to the play-ability of the vehicles, they are the main negative with the set. The henchmen's vehicle could have been assembled per Lego's instructions and provided bricks. I had spare bricks that allowed the front to 'swing shut' properly, but the entire vehicle lacks thoughtfulness from a design standpoint. Per my son: "it's lame". The larger vehicle functions better, but also lacks some details that basic sets have (swamp police). If this is a set that you just have to have, then go ahead and pick it up; but don't pay full price for it.

I bought this for my son, because LEGOs are amazing, and so is my son, so of course he likes LEGOs. I've been buying LEGOs for over 20 years. This is the only time in my entire experience with LEGOs that they made a terrible design decision. On the smaller vehicle, there's a little blaster/gun on the top. Normally, LEGO would connect that blaster to the car so it won't randomly fall out while you're playing with the car. But the piece they chose to connect the blaster to the car is TERRIBLE. It doesn't securely connect both pieces, and if tipped to the side the blast just falls off! I went over the manual time and time again and double checked the pieces and sure enough, it's intentional. I easily resolved the problem with a piece of my own so it doesn't fall off every 15 seconds while my son is playing with it. But purposefully making an accessory to the car JUST FALL OFF earns this 3 stars. Thor is at least awesome.

Cheap my son got this for his birthday and the pieces would not even connect no matter what, first his older sister tried to do it, then myself then we knew it was garbage

I bought several of these Legos for my grandson because he loves Minecraft after he put these Legos together they were so small and honestly I know he was disappointed but he wouldn't say it said no for what you pay for it it's definitely not worth it

We pay a good amount of money for this Lego, and didn't came with a couple of pieces ( from the fabric) we check and check and now we are not able to finish our Lego!

Received wrong item.

The box arrived opened and without the mini figures for Thor and Hawkeye. There even isn't enough parts to complete the car that hawkeye is driving. Well done amazon.
