Five Star Reviews: | 83% Highly recommend this product. July 14, 2017 Amazing price and lots of cloth. I used to go to Bed Bath and Beyond but this is much better, I highly recommend this product and it's reusable!!!Great for making medical butter and oil. High Quality Cheesecloth May 18, 2017 My favorite cheesecloth for straining broth when making chicken soup. More heavy-duty than what I'm able to find in my local grocery stores. Strong and great quality. Can reuse many times over April 23, 2017 I use this to strain the chicken carcass and veggies that I use to make bone broth. Once strained to a bowl, I then twist the bundle and squeeze the rest of the liquid out of the jumble to get every last drop into the bowl. I then wash, sanitize and dry it for the next use! This stuff is strong. Really well made! February 14, 2017 Great value. Strong, well made cheesecloth. I mean, there's not all that much to say about cheesecloth, but I use it a lot (mostly to strain stock or broth, but occasionally for other tasks) and this is so much better than the cheesecloth available in my local kitchen store or hardware store. I've been buying the white cheese cloth I usually find ... October 20, 2015 I've been buying the white cheese cloth I usually find at the local stores. It comes in small quantities in a narrow/long configuration. I use this to strain fat, skin and bones from chicken broth after boiling carcases. This stuff is of a much higher quality than I have been using. It has a tighter weave, and is wider so it covers my strainer completely. As long as this is available it will always have a place in my kitchen! Can't go back to the cheaper stuff now. Awesome product! July 17, 2015 This is a great product. First of all, the amount of cheesecloth is crazy for the price. It's so much more than any of the other packages I'd bought previously. Second, it's strong and I've washed the current pieces I cut out 3 or 4 times and they're still usable. Just rinse out, toss in the washing machine and air dry (if you throw them in the dryer like I did once, they shrink up a lot). I use this for cold brew coffee and a double-layer of cheesecloth (just cut a large rectangle and fold over) + mesh strainer is perfect for filtering out the coffee as I pour it through.I highly recommend this! | 73% Awesome! October 1, 2017 I just made ricotta with this bad boy.(From this AMAZING book I cannot recommend enough https://www.amazon.com/Food-Lab-Cooking-Through-Science/dp/0393081087/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506902000&sr=8-1&keywords=j+kenji+lopez+alt)After washing and hanging to dry, it looks great and ready for another use. Can't beat that for the price. Worked for me June 5, 2017 I was using this as a window shade for my plants that can't have direct sunlight. This diffused the light nicely. Not the most common use for cheesecloth I'm sure, but it worked well. For what it's worth, this does seem to be nice high quality cheesecloth. It was a little frayed on the cut edge, but it seems sturdy with a nice strong mesh. Great! March 1, 2017 Worked great, I threw mine in the washer and even the dryer, it shrunk a little but stayed perfectly intact. Can reuse again and again. I didn't know what would happen in the dryer but I think all it did was shrink it a bit. The edges were fraying when I bought it but after washing/drying the edges sort of shrunk up and it isn't fraying anymore. Worked great for me. October 8, 2016 I have used this for both I made and it works great, nothing is getting through this. It really is ultra fine I had nothing but broth get through it. I have not used it on anything else at this time so I am unsure of how it would work with other things. Great for farmers cheese! September 17, 2016 Love this cheese cloth! I've cut mine into half, and I use it to make farmers cheese. Works well and it has small holes. Easy to clean as well and dries well! Great for making yogurt July 25, 2016 My wife loved using this to make homemade yogurt. It strained the whey perfectly and made a great batch. It can be cleaned pretty easily, too. If you are a cook or kitchen enthusiast, this is definitely something to add to your toolbox. |
Four Star Reviews: | 8% Got want I wanted. And it gets the job done. March 13, 2017 It's cheese cloth. Good quality cheese cloth at a fair price. I was was also impressed with the strength. I used it to juice some citrus fruit and it held up very well.I have used sections cut off the cloth to preform may tasks. Very useful. Four Stars January 31, 2017 I bought this for making sticky rice so it would not stick to the bamboo basket. works great Seem better then one in supermarket May 3, 2016 I bought a cheesecloth online for the first time. Seem better then one in supermarket. I really like this quality. And the price is good. The only thing, that I don't like: black dots, so I am going to boil it before using. Also doesn't state anywhere on the package where it is produce. Normally, if it's hidden, so it is from China. I don't really care about it, but I would like to learn it from the package. works great, as intended July 12, 2015 Felt a little too thin and had some unclean edges (pieces came off the edges, and parts almost got into the cheese).Otherwise, works great, as intended, lots of it and worth buying again (as long as the above is known in advance). It is a very good for the price paid June 30, 2015 It is a very good for the price paid. The only downfall it is that it is not precut in strips and unless you have a sharp scissors,it is cumbersome process. This is good quality cheesecloth May 23, 2015 This is good quality cheesecloth. It is in a very long and double folded roll. It has a slight smell (because it's unbleached?).It works fine, but I am not over the moon about it. It's cheesecloth, and it does its job as well as any other or as well as muslim cloth, which is what I usually use (and which is far cheaper at my local fabric store). | 15% Not bad for the price. October 5, 2017 I found the perfect iced coffee recipe and needed this for it! You soak a whole bag of coffee grounds in a big tub with water. After soaking, you strain with this and then you have a whole bunch of wonderful iced coffee concentrate! Can't wait to try it! Close weave and strong July 5, 2017 Needed some cheese cloth with a finer weave and this cheese cloth worked perfectly. Nice upgrade over the discount loose weave stuff that I use for general purpose tasks. Amazing!!! May 19, 2017 I bought this to strain my natural juice as it would take me forever to strain my natural juice after I finish blending them. So far I made , cherry and Passion fruit juice and it took me one trial to separate the pulp from the juice. I cut my cloth into two pieces because it is bigger than I expected. Depending on the juice I just double the cloth to minimize having to restrain my juice. The cloth didnt come apart after washing it twice so its a good buy.The material is almost like surgical gauze but finer and bigger. It is fine, but mine had one defect - big knot ... September 8, 2016 It is fine, but mine had one defect - big knot of thread.I did not realized that "Single use" means that it was used, supposedly on cheese factory and not quite thoroughly cleaned. It looked clean, but when I dose it with boiling water, it smelled quite funky, so extra cleaning was necessary. Super clean and easy September 1, 2016 I used this product for home sprouting. I was able to easily sprout rice, beans, and nuts at home. I simply placed this cloth over a mason jar, and followed regular sprouting instructions. I haven't had any issues, and the product was delivered sealed and clean, so I wasn't worried about using it with my sprouted products. The easy-to-breathe cloth is perfect for straining, and the long width of the cloth allows for a wide-range of uses. |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Average quality but good value July 24, 2017 It's alright for what you're paying. You get a large roll of cheese cloth that you can cut up into the sizes you need. It is not quite what I expected, a little more flimsy and the weave was not consistent, so I needed to double it up for straining my milk kefirs. It worked fine for storing cheese though. Strong smell to an otherwise good cheesecloth June 10, 2017 It is a fairly decent cheesecloth. The weave did not seem inconsistent, it didn't fray overmuch when lengths of it were cut off, and worked perfectly fine to strain food solids from liquids. My only complaint is that it has a rather strong incense smell to it. I didn't think that was a big deal (other than the offense to my nose) and chalked it up to being an unbleached material. Unfortunately, after making paneer (a very mild-flavored cheese), I noticed that the scent seemed to have transferred to the cheese, lending it a strangely floral scent and flavor. It's edible, but not preferable. And if this is normal for this cheesecloth I will not be purchasing it again. Three Stars May 1, 2017 These are nice for making almond milk with, but they are close to impossible to clean and reuse. /: Good quality minus holes in the cloths. April 5, 2017 The cheese cloth is great. The only reason that I'm not giving it five stars is because a few feet in a dime sized hole appeared in the middle of the cloth which persists (and increases in size) throughout the roll. Not the end of the world but it is frustrating because I'm having to add extra cloth to cover the hole. | 7% meh June 21, 2017 It's less than I expectedPROSit works fine, it's cotton, price is a-alrightCONSthere are cheese cloths with superior quality and greater width and better price Much smaller than expeceted but good quality. Not sure i would order again as ... May 19, 2017 Much smaller than expeceted but good quality. Not sure i would order again as the price is a little high for the quantity Not that ultra fine May 9, 2017 I bought this as a cover for my kombucha fermenter jar, however the weave is so loose that even doubled over I felt like fruit flies might still get in and ruin everything.Ended up tossing it out, but it might be fine for other uses, just not a kombucha cover. It's pretty small and has a bit of lint February 21, 2017 Works well but the size stated is misleading. It's pretty small and has a bit of lint. Tricky using it to strain yogurt. OK, but but milk bags are better October 29, 2016 This cheesecloth came with a very strange smell that only came out after 2 hand washes (with dr. bronners), and started shedding almost immediately when I strained my homemade yogurt. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition - but a little smaller that I expected September 11, 2016 Arrived quickly and in perfect condition - but a little smaller that I expected. It was probably described accurately, however I should have checked the dimensions before purchase. Nothing wrong with the product - just matter of size. I should have ordered more than one to o the job. |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% not made to last May 15, 2017 Delivered promptly. Good quality and service. these lights are amazing and it's worth the money. I didn't know that online shopping is so interesting, under the guidance of the seller I finally learned to online shopping, thank you! Old friends. I visited in your store again, for a long time didn't come, business seems to be really good. Efforts! could not be more pleased! meets my needs This is to prevent the purchase before that will be broken, attentive seller gave a small gift, in short, you can be assured of the quality of products to buy. Not off to a very good start February 19, 2015 Not sure about this yet. When I ordered it a few days ago, the seller described it as "organic", but when I received it, it said nothing on the package about being organic. Now, I notice it's described as "food grade." I ordered it for the simple fact that I thought it was organic. And to boot, it had a couple small holes in the package which I'm not sure I'm ok with, since I'll be using this straight from the package to my food items. Not off to a very good start! | 2% Yellowed, and fell apart so quickly. July 12, 2017 Yellowed, and fell apart so quickly. It was also really stiff dip I wasn't able to use it for my newborns photos Two Stars June 12, 2017 Cant use it. Its constantly shedding its fiber. 100s of tiny white pieces make it impossible to use. I wouldn't recommend it. It's basically a one use item November 26, 2016 I bought this to use as a cheesecloth to make cold brew coffee. I wouldn't recommend it. It's basically a one use item. Bad quality. November 3, 2016 Drains out all the cheese along with water. Doesn't hold the cheese. Bad quality. Cheese cloth is normally pretty large and this was small October 20, 2016 Much smaller than I had expected. Cheese cloth is normally pretty large and this was small. Thinner than expected also. |
One Star Reviews: | 3% Cheesecloth is usually lint free, which is what I ... September 22, 2016 Cheesecloth is usually lint free, which is what I need. This cloth has lint and loose particles all over it..very inferior product. I would not want to make food with it, and it will not work for my needs, which is to cover AC vents. It also had a really strong smell, like incense, and that, coupled with the lint debris, flared up my allergies. Left Bits of Threads November 8, 2015 Not a great clothe for straining particles from liquids or liquids from foods as it leaves bits of broken threads in the food product. It is probably okay for traditional cheese making if you do not mind picking the particles off the sides of the curds when finished draining whey. Lie! Not ORGANIC as the description says. April 23, 2015 Lie! Not ORGANIC as the description says. No country of origin is indicated on the package, nor the producer or distributor’s information. Also, the thread is too thin and loose so I doubt it’s grade 60, more like 40. The description brags it’s “#1 ranked cheesecloth on Amazon,” but now when I checked the Amazon’s ranking it says #1,815. Totally false advertisement. I’m going to complain to Amazon. I wish there weren’t dishonest businesses like that on Amazon. | 3% Didn't like this cheesecloth at all. June 21, 2017 Didn't help keep the cheese any longer than typical in the fridge and instead caused it to harden. I prefer keeping the cheese in a zip lock bag. This was a failed experiment. Terrible product.. March 13, 2017 Hated this product , allowed nothing to go thru, had like a film on it. Waste of money. Unless you like furry food, go elsewhere! July 2, 2016 There were SO many loose thread ends that I tossed this. I've gotten better at the Dollar Tree! Does not cut well at all; it just shreds ... February 6, 2016 Does not cut well at all; it just shreds to bits. If you want to use a smaller piece of cloth from this big sheet, you're out of luck. |
