Five Star Reviews: | 71% There are no reviews yet | 61% I do love this tool July 2, 2017 I do love this tool. I used it to take apart a limb (tree) that had become damaged in a windstorm. It was easy to use, and was easy to adjust as I was using it. For small projects, like the one I had today, it was very helpful.Update 9 6 2017I wish I could give this little saw another few stars. We have been using it for the last few weeks, and it is one tough little bugger. Not only have we used it to clear some downed trees, but The Spouse has made me a bench from the downed material with it. It's a very reliable saw. I can wholeheartedly recommend this saw. My son and I were very pleased with this inexpensive chain saw May 26, 2017 My son and I were very pleased with this inexpensive chain saw. It did the job we needed at his place and mine. It appears it is going to be durable, though we have not used it enough to say for certain. Very pleased. This is a great little chain saw April 13, 2017 This is a great little chain saw! I was only using it for heavy pruning of 1 - 1 1/2" limbs, but it went right through them like butter. It is light and easy to handle, and seems a lot safer than I expected. When you take your finger off the trigger, the chain stops immediately. I had a small gas chain saw many years ago, and while unwinding and winding a long heavy extension cord is a pain, it sure beats holding the weight and dealing with the hard starting gas models for this type work. Love it October 16, 2015 Just got this yesterday. Was delivered early in the morning so I had to run to Walmart to get bar ad chain oil. Came home and fired this baby up! A few small trees came down with no problem, a few medium sized trees came down and I fel like king of the tree killing world! Nothing could stop me in cutting down these trees. 1 tree, 2 tree, and some it was 6 trees. Finally I don't have to hand cut any more trees down. This got the job done within 5 minutes. Now if it could only put up a fence for me First Time Using a Chainsaw September 13, 2012 Never used or owned a chainsaw before. So was nervous after reading some of the reviews but decided to just go ahead and try it. Glad that I did. Did not have any problems in using the chainsaw. Didn't have any problems with the chain getting loose but was prepared to tighten it if needed based on some of the reviews. Like others had problems with oil leakage but being forewarned didn't fill it up and laid it on some rags. The only problem I had was in pressing the oil bulb too hard - it came off. But it was simple to put it back on. Now, all that's left to experience is sharpening it which is not needed yet since it was used for cutting about a dozen or so trees/shrubs ranging in size to about 5 or 7 inches in diameter. While never having used a chainsaw before, did not experience any problem in actual use. Used a 100 feet 16/3 extension cord with no problem. So, based on my needs and limited experience, am really pleased with it. BobB September 1, 2012 I couldn't be happier with this chainsaw , it surprised me that such a small light saw could cut down large limbs just as fast as my old gas chainsaw. I've used this saw twice since I bought it, both times cutting a large amount of Brazilian Pepper on the surrounding properties that had grown to the point that they were starting to push down my fence. The saw ate through limbs up to 4 inches thick like they were butter. The chain did come off one time (MY FAULT)but it's so easy to reinstall and adjust that it's not even worth talking about. I have to remark about the negative comments I've read about this saw leaking the bar oil out when not in use, it will, and it tells you that in the owners manual. You can't blame the product for having a problem if the owners manual warns you about it ahead of time. Let's talk ease of maintenance. If you want to tighten the chain all you need is a 6" common screwdriver, and a small crescent wrench, just break loose the 2 nuts holding the chain carrier in place, adjust the tension on the chain with the screwdriver, and lock down the 2 nuts, now you're back in business. I've thought of having my gas chainsaw repaired, but it doesn't make much sense since it would probably cost me more to repair it than it would to buy another one of these as a backup! I Love this little guy! |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% There are no reviews yet | 19% Excellent saw for small jobs. November 4, 2016 Excellent small chain saw. I had a predecessor whose blade had gone dull. Buying a new one cost just a bit more (about $5 more) than a new chain. The only problem is the faulty Instruction manual which shows things that don't exist on the saw. easy to use and the oiler button is the first ... May 7, 2016 easy to use and the oiler button is the first I have seen on a chain saw. They only con I can see is I wish it was able to get rid of the sawdust easier inside the adjustable chain mechanism, but it is easy to open it up from time to time to clean it out, and that is just a minor thing. Overall it is a very good chain saw with a long blade, longer than most electrics. Great Saw December 13, 2015 I love this little electric chain saw. I have a huge Homelite bow saw I've been using for years, but this little saw has torque and simplicity for cutting down and cutting up those little 3-4 inch trees that you don't want to break out all of the lumberjack equipment for. I had an older one that was handed down from my Dad. We (he and I) used it so much it finally came apart after 25 years. Once you get past being too lazy to pull out a drop cord, it's all good. Works well, and unlike the gas powered ones, there's no troubleshooting! June 6, 2014 This chainsaw has plenty of juice, bite, and cutting power for smaller jobs around the house, though I found it's much more practical for limb work that is close to the house (obviously), due to the limitations of your extension cord. For work at the outer edges of the property, I prefer the battery powered Ryobi, which cuts just as good as this unit, though it has a shorter bar. For my needs, having both on hand works pretty well, and is much, much better than wrestling with the gas powered, finicky chainsaws. Gas powered chainsaws are a must if you plan on using one all the time, but for most homeowners, the electric or battery powered ones are far more practical. Very impressed for its size and price October 16, 2013 I was very impressed with the power of the chainsaw, especially at the low price. It was powerful enough for me to take down a tree in my back yard that was about a foot in diameter and 25 feet tall. One thing I would change is the handle. I wish it wrapped around in a loop as opposed to just sticking out. Also, I do wish it came with a chain cover for when it's not in use. I feel like it's an unsheathed knife that's sitting around which seems dangerous. Please take note that it did not come with any oil so make sure to purchase some before using it for the first time. Nice saw! July 8, 2013 Great saw to have. I do not use it repeatedly, but when you need a chainsaw, you need one. You just have to plug it in and pull the trigger, no gas and oil to worry about. Works great on fallen limbs from storms, and trimming branches from mowing lanes. Also works great on landscape timbers when you do not need the finest cut available. It does leak oil from the reservoir when not in use. I store mine sitting in a plastic pan to prevent unwanted damage to surrounding materials. |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% There are no reviews yet | 5% Cuts Well But Has Issues February 6, 2017 It didn't oil well, no matter how much I pumped the bulb, so I took it down and found that the drip hole in the reservoir bottle was too small. I used an ice pick to enlarge it some. The most serious problem is that wood chips pile up in the housing. So much, that it even gets into the handle housing where the trigger and wires are. So after every couple of long cuts, ensure you stop and clean it out. looks like I'll have to reset the tension on the chain October 31, 2016 Instead of buying a log splitter. I used this on old dry hard wood. I wanted to use for Firewood.looks like I'll have to reset the tension on the chain. It did not cut through like butter on the logs. Next year I'll see how itwork on live tree branches. This chain saw cuts better than I thought it would and is certainly easier ... November 29, 2015 This chain saw cuts better than I thought it would and is certainly easier to use on the smaller branches than a gas chain saw. Don't rely on this to oil your chain. I filled the chain oil resevoir, and it leaked out within a few minutes of cutting. I think I read another reviewer who suggested using a separate oil can to keep the chain oiled. That was good advice. The good: It cuts small branches and trees very well August 15, 2014 The good: It cuts small branches and trees very well. It starts easily and is light. The bad: As others have said, it leaks. This is annoying, although as long as you're aware of it, you can take steps. Not nearly the power of a gas chainsaw... which you would expect. The cord really limits your range, but if you are just looking to trim up a small yard, this is a good option. light weight, but ok October 15, 2013 I always looking for a light weight saw that can't take care my yard by myself. I read over the other reviewers, give a try on this one, it is very light weight, which I love it, but not as powerful as I thought. I will keep it for the small plants. |
Two Star Reviews: | 1% There are no reviews yet | 4% Do not attempt to cut anything thicker in size than your wrist July 5, 2017 Nowhere cuts the thick logs as the video shows. The chain got out of line in my 1st try.I am going for a gas one next. Gas powered is better. September 30, 2016 Burnt this up in the first 10 min of use, trying to remove the dried out branches on a desert plant.Gas powered is better. refurbed no go September 21, 2015 tried a refurbished one of these. nice looking saw cosmetically but never put it to use made grinding noise in the motor. returned. Too complex... August 16, 2015 Reading about it made it seem like a breeze to own & maintain. It is not. You may as well get a real chainsaw because this one is just as difficult to keep up with and maintain. This is lightweight and easy to use June 22, 2015 This is lightweight and easy to use. However, despite my attempts to check the tension on the chain, it fell off three times during the first two uses. I do not have the time to keep playing with the chain so returned it. |
One Star Reviews: | 2% There are no reviews yet | 11% Plenty of chain, not enough saw September 12, 2017 The chain will not stay on. I tried fixing it myself and the chain still wouldn't stay on. I took it to a hardware store and they tightened the chain as much as they could, but it still fell off during the next use. One Star April 25, 2017 Had it just a few weeks and its already broken and amazon wont let me get a refund. This saw is what you pay for. Small limbs ... November 22, 2016 This saw is what you pay for. Small limbs collected under the guard. Caused saw to bind. Oil leaks when stored. It is not a quality product. Don't buy it!! Junk!! November 19, 2016 Do NOT buy this!!!! Don't waste your money!!! I just used for first time chain fell of in 5 seconds..tightened chain kept falling off. The minute or 2 of actual cutting it doesn't cut very well and it sucked all the branches etc..into unit I just got on Amazon to return and its to late so im going to contact amazon see what they can do. Underpowered, Cheap feeling, Horrible Chain Tightening May 14, 2016 Im sorry to give a Remington product a single star, but I have no choice. This "chainsaw" choked on the very first dry branch I attempted to cut. It has no power to speak. The plastic feels cheap and flimsy. The chain tighteing sytstem is an absolute joke. Save your money and to not buy this "chainsaw" Too cheap and it brakes October 18, 2015 the chain tensioner broke, spend a little more and get somethingbetter.. |
