Five Star Reviews: | 62% Perfect July 28, 2017 Made awesome cannabis butter with these bad boys. They served their purpose well :) It works great. May 30, 2017 I'm using this product primarily to make cold brew coffee. It works great. Satisfied March 27, 2017 used it twice so far, it washes well in the washing machine...made some awesome greek yogurt. Four stars instead of 5 because I wish it were wider. Perhaps twice it's width... not sure if they all come like that, it's my first cheesecloth purchase. ***update ---> opened it up at bit more, it was folded onto itself...so it's definitely wide enough...works great, changing review to 5 stars. Bought a second one too :-) Very Durable October 1, 2016 I needed this to strain the whey off my homemade yogurt. It works great! You get quite a bit in the package. I laid it across my strainer, folded it a few times and then cut off what I needed. I rinsed it out after I was finished and washed it with some mild dish soap. Hang it up to dry and you can reuse it. I was able to get over 10 uses from my first piece before I needed to cut another square off. I will definitely be reordering this when I need more. love it January 23, 2012 i use it to strain yogurt. works like a charm. did not have to double fold it, which is nice. would buy it again. | 87% Used to make paneer! September 12, 2017 I used this to make some paneer recently. It worked well - I cut it into several pieces and pressed the cheese while it was in this cloth. The grain is largish (I probably didn't pay very close attention when I ordered it) but it worked just fine. I washed it after using and it did shrink it a bit, which is just fine! Excellent for kombucha brewing February 11, 2017 Works perfect for brewing my homemade kombucha. I opted to buy this over certified organic cheesecloth because it's not coming into direct contact with food (just using it as a cover on my brewing vessel)....I just wanted it to be unbleached. The mesh is fairly tight and uniform....great product. Thanks Pure Acres! Seriously good product for a great price December 8, 2016 I use this stuff for a kinds of things in my kitchen. Making homemade stock I use it to strain the vegetables to get every bit of delicious juice out. Making large pitches of tea, I use it to hold the Lipton loose leaf together so it's not full of silt. There's been a few times my strainer has slits too wide for something I need to rinse, and I just lay a square inside the bowl then rinse away. And every piece that's used I wash in the sink and let air dry and then use again. I do try to use the same cloth for the same job (stock cloth for stock, tea cloth for tea, etc) and use labeled bags to keep them separate. I've also used it to make cheese broth (YUM) so I don't ruin a pot with melted cheese rind, and to strain off extra juice from some fruit leather I was making. Eventually, I might actually use it to make some cheese. We'll have to wait and see. Seriously good product for a great price! Excellent Product & High Quality! June 15, 2016 This cheesecloth is excellent quality! I purchased it to make my own loose leaf tea bags in various sizes and to drain homemade cheese with. It works perfectly for both of these purposes. It has a tight weave while still allowing liquid to pass through it. I wash my tea bags after each use and after several weeks of consistent use my original bags are still holding up very well. I will be purchasing from Pure-Aces-Farm for future needs. Thank you for a wonderful product. Such a GREAT product for the money!!! March 21, 2016 I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cheesecloth!! I putting through the ringer this weekend. I was making desserts for over 40 people. I had to strain ricotta for cannolis, strain raspberry puree, and squeeze juices from lemons and limes!!! It worked out sooooo well.. And I reused the small portions that I used so I still have plenty for reserve!!! The quality is top notch!! It was stitched close so I didn't lose any pulp or cheese. And I got to use it more that twice!! I washed it and it is waiting for my next baking adventure!! Thanks for making such a great product. It saved me soooooo much time and effort!! |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% High quality cheese cloth. April 7, 2017 I brought this to strain my tofu better, this was a great choice, would recommend. Worked great and filtered debris from honeycomb March 19, 2017 Nice large sized pieces. Weave looks very loose, but when I used it the weave shrunk and pulled together. Great results. Will reorder again. Good Quality February 20, 2012 I bought this cheesecloth to strain cold brew coffee and it works great for that purpose. It comes in one large piece. I cut it up with scissors for the size I needed. It is good quality cloth I washed a piece of it to see if it would hold up and it did fine through a hand washing. | 7% Four Stars August 7, 2017 I haven't used this yet, but there is not a whole lot that can go wrong. Decent price! good stuff April 15, 2017 used this to make cannabis-infused coconut oil. Worked like a charm. Good quality stuff and you get a lot of it. Lasts a long time November 21, 2016 It is a decent item to make cold brewed coffee with. A lot of recipes will tell you to stack laryers of cheese cloth when making cold brewed coffee. I know by experience, that is very hard to do with this. Most of my recipes wouldn't pour through more than one layer of these and usually ended up in me making a huge mess. I have found more uses for cheese cloth than I could have imagined when I bought it. I have never had experience using cheese cloth before this, but really liked this product. It has a very silky feeling, but feels rugged enough to last multiple uses (and has lasted multiple uses). |
Three Star Reviews: | 9% Three Stars May 1, 2017 OK, kinda cheap cheesecloth. I guess why so cheap. Going to a brick and mortar instead. Sheds like crazy on the cut edges February 19, 2017 Sheds like crazy on the cut edges, hard to detach from the dough (using it for sourdough bread making), but I guess for the price it's okay. Standard, not ultra-fine November 6, 2016 Product title is misleading. This is not ultra-fine grade, it is standard cheesecloth. Weave density of ultra-fine is double this item's, about halfway between this and muslin. Its Narrow and long! May 1, 2013 This cheescloth reminds me of emergency kit medical gauge...but it does the job. I use it to strain curds for cheesemaking (mozzarella, cheddar etc) and it works well but sometimes when left draining more than 2 hours the curds get stuck to the cloth and it's almost impossible to remove. I used it 3 times and already had to cut a piece out. Also, note that it's not square but long and narrow (1ft x 27 ft) what makes it really difficult to handle. I ended up cutting it into 4 pieces. Also it gets a little deformed when washing with hot water but so far it's gone back to normal when dried. | 2% Okay cheese cloth, like any other kind in stores May 29, 2017 I bought some cheese cloth from Pure-Acres Farm and it's just like any other cheese cloth you'd buy in stores. Not for applying finish! October 28, 2016 Well, it appears as standard cheesecloth but it is definitely not suitable for fine finishing. In my case, finishing a table top. It left fine pieces of thread/cloth in the finish when it was viewed from an angle while drying. I will have to resand it and start over. Maybe we can use the cheesecloth in the kitchen, where this cheesecloth is more suitable. I liked this product September 16, 2016 I liked this product, however it was a lot thinner/weaker than I thought it was going to be. Even with it being pretty thin I feel like it will probably do its job and last a long time. It's good for the price! -Hanna IT DOES GOOD AT HOLDING STUFF TOGATHER BUT I DID HAVE A ... August 11, 2016 I AM NEW TO USEING CHEESE CLOTH SO. I GOT IT TO COOK A WHOLE CHICKEN IN THE CROCK POT. IT DOES GOOD AT HOLDING STUFF TOGATHER BUT I DID HAVE A BIT OF A HARD TIME CLEANING IT TO REUSE. I AM NOT SO SURE IT WILL HOLD UP LONG. But like other reviewers July 22, 2016 The cheesecloth did what it was supposed to do! I was able to wrap meats in it (double up on layers of I needed to) and strain herbs for tea. The product worked well for me. But like other reviewers, the cheesecloth was very linty after being cut and since it's so thin, it's hard to put a flame close to it to burn them off and seal it. It also seems to be a one time use. Overall, decent product and just need minor improvements. |
Two Star Reviews: | 6% Not my favorite cheesecloth September 11, 2017 I didn't like this cheesecloth. It shredded when I cut it, and I had to worry about it getting into my cheese. It was more porous than I was used to. That said, it did drain my chevre to a dryer consistency, but I will look for a similar product that doesn't shred so much. Woven too loose August 19, 2017 I used this to make yogurt. It worked but I will not be able to use it again because of the wide thread. When I tried to rinse it holes formed. Not lint-free July 5, 2017 I bought this with the intent to utilize the "lint free" feature. I waved it around, even washed it to get the lint out, and still doesn't act lint-free as it claims. I hope to get some sort of refund since I'm pretty dissatisfied right now. So not ultra fine mesh May 10, 2017 Absolutely terrible quality and not a fine mesh at all. Wasted money. Go with a different product. Xxx xxx xxx Weave too loose August 8, 2016 I bought this to strain my homemade yogurt. I doubled it and the yogurt just slipped right through the weave. I may have ended up with some left but there was way too much dripping out besides the whey. I was especially disappointed because this was described as ultrafine. Maybe if you need it for other uses that it will work for you but certainly not for my needs. | 2% While it is most likely very clean, there were ... December 11, 2016 While it is most likely very clean, there were a clear amount of residues coming off of the cheese cloth deeming the filtered material now unusable. Be careful and watch for particles/fibers falling in! Thick, durable material, maybe too good? August 12, 2016 No problems with the seller or the shipping but I won't buy this again. It didn't work well for the purpose I had intended. I use it to strain cold brew coffee and the material wouldn't allow the liquid through until it was saturated and wet (if that makes sense). It Is good strong material so it may work great for a different purpose. |
One Star Reviews: | 7% Don't waste your money on this June 29, 2017 I've used cheese cloths before and this one is terrible. The weave on this is awful, big holes and very flimsy. You cannot drain out liquids from this at all. Very very bad quality not usable or even as a disposable product I can't use it, not for cheese not for Greek yoghurt, or dust November 30, 2016 Very very bad quality not usable or even as a disposable product I can't use it, not for cheese not for Greek yoghurt, or even dust. Long time I bought cotton from Amazon that was good one very poor, compared 3 types in this order.... January 24, 2014 I purchased 3 different types of cheesecloth to compare and see which one I would purchase from now on. This one was terrible, long and narrow and very large weave. To even use it at all, you have to have it folded over twice until it is 4 layers thick. It is really useless and a waste of money. The other two that I purchased on Amazon were very similar to one another and both very nice. We primarily use these to filter raw milk twice daily and to make soft goat milk cheeses. The two that I recommend are: Norpro 367 Natural Cheese Cloth - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000VLVBQ/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Regency Natural Ultra Fine 100% Cotton Cheesecloth 9sq.ft - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B14ODG/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Both are very inexpensive as Prime Add-ons. They are almost the same material, so you could go with either one. The Regency is just one sq yd but if you want more, go with the Norpro for 2 sq yds. It is only about $1.50 more and you get twice the amount of material. I was able to cut these two up into some little pieces for milk filters and some larger pieces for cheese making with no problem and have plenty to always have some available. They are not overly narrow like the product on this page. | 2% Cheesecloth is fine, listing on search page is misleading March 30, 2017 The cheesecloth is fine. However, the listing on the search page is incorrect, do not buy based on that. Was a good deal when it was 5 square yards for 10 ... April 22, 2016 Was a good deal when it was 5 square yards for 10 dollars, the 2 square yard version is a rip off and lower quality Maybe for others it is better April 14, 2016 Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the description states it was corn free. I'm allergic to corn and had a serious reaction. False description, only 18 sq ft. March 24, 2016 Only 18 sq ft, not 45. It appears they have had this false description for years now. Even the photo is deceitful, as the cheesecloth I received was a much smaller amount than pictured. False description, poor quality. November 1, 2014 The description of the cheesecloth says 45 sq ft, but I received only 18, 2x+ less than I ordered. Also, the cheesecloth’s quality is very poor, visibly so much lint, and the weave is too wide (I’m attaching pics). The bottom line is that this cloth is poor quality, overpriced, and the description is not just deceiving, it is false. |
