I didn't know.
April 12, 2017
There is a blog out there entitled "unf*ck your habitat," and I have been using it to help me for a while now. One of those things it recommends is using a steam mop and I thought, "Seriously? Can it be that much better?" So about 2 weeks ago I started the online research and I learned everyone has an opinion on what makes a "good" steam cleaner. With "scent pods" or without (a scent pod?); canister or upright; with vacuum or not; for floors only or with accessories or not; and on and on. That's when I realized I needed to change from looking for "steam mop" or "steam cleaner" and start looking for "heavy duty steam". Why? Because I didn't want something that would break within a year, I wanted something with some power, I didn't want to have to refill it every 10 minutes, and I wanted to be able to actually sterilize after working with a sick animal.
So I bought a Mcculloch MC1275 multi-use steam cleaner on Amazon. I spent so much time going back and forth between the different McCulloch model's reviews that eventually I just chose the simplest one (for me simple usually means less to break).
Now, it is important to note - I have only been using this thing for 3 days, so I can tell you nothing about longevity, but I am impressed with the construction and size of the water tank.
I cleaned the stovetop, the oven door, the refrigerator seals, the bathroom mirror, the toilet (including seals), bathroom baseboard, shower walls, bathroom grout, bathroom sink and drain, all the random mudspots from various surfaces (thanks dogs!), and then steam-mopped the hell out of living room floor.
Everything *feels* clean. Not just looks clean, but *feels* clean. It is so strange to not have things smell like cleaning products - just smells neutral.
So, in conclusion, I didn't know. I didn't know how much better a steam cleaner can get things clean. I also *really* like that I can sterilize areas as needed without excess chemicals. It doesn't make cleaning easier, but it does make it so much more effective.
I have never gotten anything for free and only shared this because I could have used this knowledge years ago. Good luck all!
5 Stars for price, long working hose and performance..
March 5, 2017
First off , I am a car detailer so this review will not represent household use.
I give this little gem 5 stars due to price, long hose, cord and performance .
Give it time to warm up and she blows plenty of steam for general cleaning . I have found that if you are cleaning grease or seats, it's best to lightly spray a general purpose cleaner or degreaser on what you're cleaning first , It will cut down on your work time dramatically.
Worth every penny

The steam gets HOT and is PRESSURIZED. It's hot and strong enough to melt/blast away the nasty black goo on top on the tile grout. Saved me a lot of elbow grease. The product comes with different nozzles and so far I've used this on my ceramic tiled floor, my house windows, my car seats and everything came out clean and sparkling.

The pictures are from the house that I recent moved into. The windows were dusty and the floors were grimy. The grout had a layer of black that could NOT be washed/scrubbed away with soaps or bleach. I used the steam cleaner with the jet nozzle and glided over the grout with contact time of 4-6 seconds or so and the grime goes flying away (now softened and being blown away from the pressure.)

I also used the cleaner/nozzle to clean my windows. The steam is pressurized enough to blast the dust and dead insects out from the window sliding bar. I also used the squeegee attachment to clean the glass themselves, they only came out sparkling.

There's a triangle brush (with plastic bristles) that I also used to lightly scrub/ clean my car chair seats and the interior of the car. It's cleaner than when I got my car back from the detailing place.

Basically I got cleaning crazy and used this all over.

Don't use on
-hardwood floor (the heat will expand the wood and definitely remove the shine from wax/oil.)
-anything plastic (like my wall with semi-glossy/polyuth paint that had a dog paw print), it will melt it right off.

Be careful when handling the unit. I wanted to refill the tank after it ran out, the screw/lid was hot and almost burning to the touch.
Addicted to this amazing steamer!
May 10, 2016
Got my new steam cleaner yesterday and couldn't wait to get started on my bathroom grout! The instructions were easy to understand, and I was happily steaming away in 10 minutes. I had heard amazing things about grout cleaning, but WOW! The pressure nozzle with a nylon utility brush really did the trick. Picture of the floor attached for your viewing pleasure! Lower left corner shows the "before", upper shows "after".

After the bathroom, I was excited to try other areas- so I moved on to all the sinks and faucets in my house. You know those super hard to clean places around the little handles and spouts, and behind the faucet? I usually clean with these with an old toothbrush, but it never really gets everything. Not so with the steam cleaner!! Everything was sparkling and looked brand-new afterwards. I forgot to take photos, but I'll update this review next time if it ever gets bad again (unlikely, as I am now addicted to steaming).

Once I was done with the sinks and faucets, I moved on to the water dispenser in the fridge that gets all that gunk on the inside, and the inside of the oven, and my patio furniture. All with amazing results. By that point, I had been steaming for about two hours and needed a break. Today, though, I'll be using the upholstery attachment to do the patio cushions and my living room couches! Next week, maybe I'll detail my car! Told my boyfriend about my cleaning escapades and now he wants to steam clean his carpeted stairs (they're really gross). If we end up doing it, I'll post more photos to compare.

I can't believe the value for the price on this product. It absolutely works as advertised, and feels very sturdy and well-made without being heavy. I am impressed on so many levels, and I can tell that this will get a lot of use at my house. The only possibly negative thing I could say about this was that the handle got pretty hot when I was steaming continuously, so I would recommend only holding the button down for a couple seconds at a time, then pausing to wipe, then repeating (it got hot when I was holding the button down for 10+ seconds). This could be easily remedied by putting on some gardening gloves or even an oven mitt if you really need to have longer bouts of steaming. All in all though, I love this steamer!
Too Many Uses. A household must-have.

I did not want to review this until I tried it on multiple projects. After a month of everyday use here is what I think:

Floors: This replaced my Shark Steam mop which was somewhat useful but eventually broke. There is no comparison of the floor cleaning power of these two items. The MC-1275 cuts through dried dog drool spots, stickers, and everyday dirt easily and leaves my bamboo floors looking brand new. The kitchen laminate hasn't been this clean in years. The floor cleaning pads are high quality (2 included). A tip: Using a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol to lightly mist the floors before steaming leaves zero water streaking.

Grills: Works well. Not strong enough on it's own to eliminate baked on crud but some de-greaser sprayed on before steaming helps.

Car Parts: I used this to prep the bottom of my 1966 Plymouth for painting. It works well to remove old grease, oil, and dirt. I also used it on an aluminum intake manifold to remove old dirt and sealant. Great to prep gasket surfaces. If you own an old car or off-road vehicle the MC-1275 can be very handy.

Showers: Using this steamer after spraying your shower with scrubbing bubbles brand cleaner leaves it sparkling new. The squeegee attachment works well on shower door glass. Removes hard water stains.

Carpet and Upholstery: I steamed out some high traffic spots on our carpets and spills on area rugs quite well. Our white microfiber couches look great after steaming them.

Concrete floors: Works well for de-greasing and oil cleanup.

Windows: The squeegee attachments works well on windows and sliding doors. I use a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol to leave them streak free.

Kitchen: Works great on our granite counter tops and sinks. It blasts out hard water crud from the crevices of the faucet assembly and shines up the chrome.

Baby items: I used the steamer to clean two car seats and a jogging stroller. It makes fabric look new and works great at removing sticky goo, etc.

Overall the MC-1275 is an incredible tool for every household. Highly recommended.

Fabulous steamer. Cleaning everything in my house. Windows come out sparkling clean!!
November 14, 2016
Update: I have used the window cleaning head on numerous occasions. As with the first time I used it up to the last time I used it, the rubber strip on the squeegie comes out on every other swipe. I keep putting it back in thinking I got it in tight enough this time. Not happening. I am hoping that the piece is just defective and can be easily replaced. What say you seller?

WOW! What an amazing little machine. I'm cleaning everything in my house. I love the fact that it has long attachments and you do not have to press and hold the steam button. It has a button that can lock in place for continuous steam. It holds lots of water for steam. I simply love it.

This steamer is fantastic. I am able to clean grout that was impossible to get clean before without a lot of exhausting scrubbing. When you entire home is tile floors it is pretty impossible to scrub every grout line at one time. I have had three or four other steamers prior to this one. This one has the largest water reservoir and is the easiest to push for a quick mop of your floors. The grout tool is awesome. I also like that it can be locked into the on position so you do not have to hold the button in the whole time you are steaming. The performance on this steamer is what I was hoping for, but I was prepared to be disappointed based on the performance of past steamers. I was not disappointed. I do not usually write reviews, but since I tend to rely on them for larger purchases, I felt I should write one in this case. I would definitely recommend this steamer!
Great for cleaning.

I love this little steamer. I got this steam cleaner to clean the interior of my truck and it worked really well, once it reaches full temperature it puts out a nice steam and cleaned my dirty carpet in my truck very well, I also used it on my dash and seats and I was very happy with the results. This unit comes with several attachments including some small brushes that you can easily attach to the tip of the handheld tip and scrub as the steam loosens up the dirt and grease. I have no complaints at all but I did not use any of the extensions for doing flooring so I can't speak to the usefulness of those parts that come with the unit. The steamer seems very well made and gets up to temperature in about 5 to 7 min. I would recommend this unit to anybody, as I am very pleased with my purchase and have used it several times now since I purchased it.
So far, so good
December 14, 2014
Early Review Notes: Got this unit a day or two ago and have tried it out. It works well and seems to be pretty stoutly constructed for its functions. It cleaned a really greasy gas stove in fairly short order. One of the best capabilities of this unit is that it really gets into corners and is excellent at cleaning the plastic control panels on appliances. Much, much better than a paper towel and 409 or Windex would do.

A couple of thoughts after using for a couple of hours:
1. Remember that this unit will loosen and flush heavy grease, but it does not really remove it. You may still need to wipe the cleaned surface - up to several times - in order to get the grease completely gone, but it comes up easily;
2. Use a narrow-throated funnel to load the tank with water. The included cup is fine, but difficult to get to pour into the small opening without a lot of spillage. A plastic funnel should be fine if you wait for the unit to appropriately cool before refilling.
3. The small brush heads for spot cleaning will get gunked up cleaning a greasy stove, for example. Check it periodically as you clean, and remove and wash off as needed. Wait for it to cool a bit before removing ... it may be very hot.
Highly recommended

Product review: I purchased this steam cleaner from Amazon with great intentions to thoroughly clean my house as soon as it arrived. But of course I stuck it in the back room once it was delivered and totally forgot about it. After having the 3 cans of pop explode in the freezer I was really frustrated trying to clean it up and then remembered the steam cleaner! I pulled it out and used it and OH MY GOSH!! The inside of the freezer looks brand new! And it worked fast. Less than 1/2 hour to do freezer top to bottom. I highly recommend this product!!

Floor steamer
March 9, 2016
It does not do grout as good as I thought it would. It's just okay. It does not hold 48 oz of water at one time. You have to let it cool down each time to refill it and you can refill 2 more times after the first filling in one day but than it does take a while to heat up each of the 3 times in a day. Water does condense in the hose and you have to stop and shake out the hose and sprayer so you only get steam. Overall I would give it a 4 since it might work as well or better than others on the market I haven't tried others to compare.

September 11, 2015
After I used this to steam all the nooks and crannies, all the corners of my walls and furniture, I have not seen a single bed bug and I'm so happy this saved me from spending thousands of dollars on an exterminator to get rid of the bed bugs that lived with us for 5 months. The plus size, it cleans my stove like a boss! I love it! Be careful though because the grey knobs on head of this can come off or melt like mine did. Which sucks. Other than that, this thing is beast and I love it!
Nice little steamer
May 26, 2015
Used to clean grout lines before resealing some tile. The grout looks a lot better after steaming it. Not perfect, but that's not the fault of the little steamer. It comes with plenty of attachments. And enough wand extension to clean the grout lines without having to kneel down. It's a handy system to have, also comes with floor steaming pads that are machine washable. It does a nice job. Only downside, it'd be nice to have a kit to store all of the attachments.
very pleased

used to have a smaller upright that was around $50 or so. An O-ring on that thing lasted about 5 uses before it started leaking and drastically effecting performance. This thing, however, is a beast by comparison. MUCH MUCH hotter, MUCH MUCH more useful with all the attachments. Easy to use, comes with a measuring cup and funnel even in case you don't have them.

IF YOU BUY THIS AND ARE LIKE ME AND DON'T LIKE READING DIRECTIONS, PAY ATTENTION to this...
I didn't have a bad experience, I actually stopped and read the instructions...mostly. The chamber where the water goes is under extremely high pressure and will stay that way long after you turn it off, if you don't empty it. If that means just letting the steam out over the kitchen sink until it's depleted, so be it. I got a scare once early on when my wife used it one day. She didn't empty it after using it, and a day or so later I went to full it up and thankfully I started hearing a hissing noise before I got too close to having the cap loose enough for it to blow off. As long as you empty it, there is no problem. It does take a little getting used to how much water you need. If you're only doing 50sq ft of kitchen floor, for example, don't fill it all the way up. In fact, start with 1/2-2/3 a cup and see how far that gets you.

Great purchase overall. Only reason no 5* is no place to hold all the accessories or power cable.
Great little steamer, very pleased.

I was looking for a steamer to clean the grout in my kitchen. After researching steamers online I was left with the impression that there is a lot of hype and buzz about steamers but not much objective information. Plus many are not exactly cheap and the vendors have dodgy-looking return policies.

So I decided to start small with this unit and have been very favorably impressed with the build quality and performance. For my project this little machine has performed excellently and probably saved me about $600 over getting it done professionally - with potentially questionable results, given a neighbor's experience. Of course it requires a fair amount of effort to do the cleaning oneself but it has been well worth it and I have moved on to attacking the bathroom tile!

My only negative is that the steamer comes with only one of the small brass bristle brushes which are essential for grout cleaning. The nylon brushes go flat in about 5 seconds. I ordered 10 more brass units off the manufacturer's web site - at a reasonable price - and problem solved. Item A275-004-5 steamfast.com

Good product for ceramic floors
April 25, 2017
Really good at cleaning tile floors and grout. We clean our grout with a brush and solutions, but this does a much better job. Much better. So, we clean the tile more often than in the past because it cuts down on time by quite a bit. The only problem is that the grout brush will only last a short period of time and needs frequent replacement.
Love it...attachments are ok...but love the machine.
December 30, 2015
I love this machine. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that some of the attachments (the small round one with the green pad and the nylon brushes) didn't hold up well after the first use. Admittedly, I excited to use this and was hard on them the first time, but I would have expected more than one use out of the round green pad. One the first use the green pad detached from the plastic and left me disappointed. The small nylon brushes are still usable, but showing great wear after one day. With all that being said I love this machine. I headed quickly and I was amazed by how much grime this thing removed from my oven. The machine holds true to its word about how long the steam lasts per use. The floor pad is very thick and I was able to use across my whole floor while cleaning. The mop handle is a good length (which i was concerned about) and easy to maneuver. The wheels roll easily while you are mopping and the machine isn't extremely heavy so its easy to move while steam mopping. I'm so excited to use this again as its going to change the way I clean. My husband does woodworking and is planning to use the device to help steam wood as well. I didn't purchase this with the intention of using it for that, but it releases a huge amount of steam so its going to be perfect for that also. The attachments are easily added and removed and hold securely to the machine.
Five stars except..................
September 18, 2014
I really like this machine. It came yesterday and so far I've cleaned my stove, refrigerator door, some kitchen drawers, bathtub, mopped my kitchen floor (bamboo) and cleaned a door and door frame. All of these things were pretty dirty. I'm not the world's best housekeeper and I cook a lot, so there was some old built-up grease in the kitchen, and our bathtub was nothing less than shameful. I try to clean it with Comet and a brush but it doesn't seem to make a dent.

I used some no-scrub cleaner on the soap scum in the bathtub and then the squeegee attachment. What a disgusting but fantastic result! The scum was coming off so beautifully I had to keep rinsing off the squeegee. Gross. There was some problem with the corners of the tub, so I switched to the corner tool with the scrub pad attached. Finished the job. A good rinse and my tub was sparkling.

It cleaned the door handle to my fridge when nothing else would; magic erasers, cleaner, degreaser......nothing got into the little teeny pores of the plastic. It was an embarrassment. With the pressure nozzle attached; boom! Clean and white.

The corner attachment with the sponge cover works beautifully on walls; you do have to follow yourself with a rag or paper towels to wipe up the dirt dislodged by the steam, but it's faster and less nasty than a bucket of cleaner. The nozzle is awesome for that place between your base trim and the wall, where dust likes to hide and live unopposed by regular wiping down.

I have to ding it though, because the sponge/scrubber accessories are flimsy; mine almost immediately need replacing. It feels a little like you're being given your first "treat" for free; the rest you have to pay for. The small round scrubber that attaches to the pressure nozzle is a dream; except it falls apart after one use. The sponge and scrubber covers for the corner tool are the same. I can see buying those green flat dish scrubbers and making those work as replacements, but the sponge cover is so frail, it fell apart as I was doing my wall. I wasn't even using that much pressure, and when you're cleaning, you're using pressure!! I figured out that I can double over an old washcloth (I buy the 20 pack at Walmart for around $4.50) and attach it to the corner tool, and that worked relatively well. With a little tweaking it will be fine. The little round scrubber I haven't figured out yet; again, I'm thinking of cutting up green dish scrubbers and gluing them somehow to the plastic attachment.

The cover for the mop is washable and seems durable enough; you get two, so replacing those won't be a monthly thing. It made my bamboo floor so pretty and clean!

And as another reviewer said, it would be nice if there were a funnel. It's hard to get the water in without spilling.

All in all I'm happy and ready for some seriously deep fall cleaning. I recommend this product, with my caveats.
A good steam cleaner for small homes and appartments
January 12, 2014
This small, leightweight steamer will sanitize your floors, bathrooms, walls and doors, etc. in NO time at all.

With a full boiler (I use bottled or distilled water), the steamer is ready in 8 minutes and lasts about 40 minutes, as indicated in the instructions. Once empty, the boiler can be refilled instantly (no water = no steam = no pressure). Wait another 8 minutes, and you're good to go for another 40 minutes, more than I need to sanitize my small apartment of about 800sqf.

Great plus: the steam lock switch, which allows for continuous steam output without having to hold the trigger down. Without it, your hand/fingers would quickly cramp up.

Regarding the attachments:

The only 2 attachments I regularly use are (1) the mop, which I use for floors (with the extension wand) and walls and doors (without the extension wand), and (2) the jet nozzle with the black nylon or brass utilty brushes, which work great on grimy grout joints, corners, faucets, toilet parts, etc.

I had high hopes for the scrub tool, but unfortuntately was very disappointed: when I first used it on my kitchen cabinet doors, the scrubber layers came apart after only a few minutes (apparently due to the high heat) and the steam output contained excessive amounts of water that ran down the doors. I stopped using it right then as it seemed about to disintegrate. When it cooled down and dried, the scrubber sort of regained its original shape but I haven't used it again since that first attempt.

The corner tool with its pads is supposed to work on corners and crevices, but in my opinion, the jet nozzle and brush are better suited for that, at least in my case; so I never use it anymore. The same goes for the squeegy tool. I find it easier to clean my windows and mirrors without steam, i.e. using conventional methods.

I was also looking forward to steam cleaning some of my furniture, but the only available tool for that seems to be the above mentioned corner tool, which only works between the cushions and not on flat surfaces. Now that I'm thinking about it, however, I suppose I could use the mop head without the microfiber pads. I'll try that next time.

That said, the mop and jet nozzle are really all I need to keep my floors, walls, doors, appliances and faucets sparkling clean. I love the fact that I don't have to use cleaning products, and for those of you with a keen sense of smell, you'll definitely notice the difference before and after: the rooms actually smell clean and fresh, despite the lack of (chemical) fragrances you get from cleaning products. And that's what makes this steam cleaner worthwhile.

So, if you have a small appartment/house and want to quickly sanitize your floors, bathrooms, etc, I'd recommend this model. I'm sure there are better steam cleaners out there, but they're more expensive, too. This one may not be perfect, but it does the job and I'm glad I got it.
I like this product

Today is day 2 of owning the Steam-fast Steamer, so at this point I am still enamored.

Pros:
Good steam output
Handy for removing wall paper (hint: use the squeegee attachment)
Great for cleaning floors and doing detailed cleaning.

Cons:
No water level indicator. The unit only allows 48 oz (which is plenty for 30-45 minutes of use), but you can't top it off as you go.
No funnel - the fill hole is small, so you really need a funnel. Surprised that one isn't included.
Small pad for flat surfaces. There is a round scouring type pad, but it is very small. There is also a "corner tool", which accepts a larger scouring pad, but I don't know how useful this would be to clean a shower/tub.

Tips:
Buy extra floor pads. If you have a lot of hard floors to clean, extra pads are handy.
Steam does not replace scrubbing or wiping. The steam serves to loosen dirt, not clear it away.

I hope that this lasts a while because it is a nice thing to have.

This product works well on bigger projects like tiled showers and vinyl flooring when the full capacity of water is used in the reservoir. On smaller jobs, when less than total capacity water is used, it sprays out more liquid hot water than steam. It also seems to loose it steam pressure much quicker making the job last way longer than it should take. It is well constructed and was very easy to put together. Both the hose and electrical cord are long enough to avoid having to move it around very often when doing large jobs.
Not as good as elbow grease....
April 4, 2017
Perhaps I expected too much. Lots of steam, but grout still not clean. Bought recommended grout cleaner and sprayed tiles before steaming and that didn't work on kitchen floor or bathroom tiles. Finally had to use elbow grease and hard bristled brush to get the job done. The other recommended uses I haven't needed yet.
Too much work.
December 5, 2016
Not powerful enough for the job so you really have to work at it. But Once I get going with it, it's fine. Thought about retunring it, but it's a little late now.
OK, but steam cleaning isn't the be-all/ end-all cleaner
December 1, 2013
Meh... It's OK....

The primary use I hoped to get was cleaning bathroom tile. It does a decent job of cleaning the tile, but it's still not as clean as if I'd knuckled down with a bottle of Kaboom or similar cleaning product. It does excel at getting into cracks and crevasses, but you have to be careful near the edges of the room if your tile doesn't also go up the side wall. (i.e. if you have wooden baseboard.) Hence, the utility is somewhat limited.

For grins I took it out to work on the grill. It does a great job on the general grease on the inside of the grill lid, but don't expect it to replace Easy-Off to clean the grates of the grill.

As much as anything, that's probably a commentary on steam cleaning. Don't expect it to replace chemical cleaners, but it's a decent way to go.

This particular unit holds up pretty well. It heats in about 8 minutes, as described in the manual. It ran more-or-less continuously for about an hour, which was good capacity. The hose is nice and long, (even longer than a tank vacuum cleaner) making it easy to move around. Also the electric cord is plenty long as well. These are nice features so that you don't need to unplug the unit and move it around to clean with.

In terms of design, there are a couple of things they can improve, though they aren't show stoppers. There is no where to coil the hose or the cord on the unit. Seems like those are obvious design improvements. The electric cord could be on a retractable coil (like a tank-style vacuum cleaner). The brushes definitely wilt under the heat of the steam. They need to rethink the plastic they use for those. The scouring pad basically disintegrated when I used it on stainless steel. It should have held up better than it did.)

Overall, it's OK, but it's not going to replace hard work. Now if I could just find the product on amazon called "elbow grease"...
OK product, I guess.........
July 20, 2013
This is a nice machine, sleek, easy to move around and easy to use. My complaint is that the accessory tools are almost worthless. The small brush to get in the grout lines seems to work very well but that is where it ends. All of the other accessory tools seem cheap and ineffective. The scrubber attachment is too small and the sponge end flattens out after a couple of hours of use. The large tile steamer has too many holes and is too large. The corner scrub brush does not let enough steam come out to make it effective. The main unit is nice and if you could find good attachments, this would be a decent tool. As it is built and sold, I would not buy another one.

07-28-2013 Update
I took the small attachment that has the scrubbing pad glued to it and found a great alternative. I bought OXO Soap Dispensing Palm Brush Refills and tore off the scrubbing pad that comes with the unit. I then glued on the OXO brush with epoxy cement to the plaatic housing and now use that tool as a cleaner. It works great and the OXO brush fits exactly into the plastic housing from the scrubbing pad. The hole in the brush is exactly the same size of scrubbing pad's hole. It is as if this brush was a factory replacement part. It works wonderfully and gives you that little bit of extra scrub action needed when you do tile. Why does not the McCollough R&D team make this part of their package. Another $4 in expense would add an incredible feature to this unit and take the weakest feature and make it the strongest.

This is my third or fouth steamer like this. One of my machines was ruined by hard water deposits, one was dropped down the stairs, and one was ruined when a bad plug fried it.

This is my first time to buy THIS BRAND. This one works like all the rest, except one huge flaw-- the handle, where you are supposed to hold it, gets terribly hot. Uncomfortably hot. So I have to use gloves to protect my hand from being burned. It gets this hot within 5 or 10 minutes of using the machine.
Great on my slimy, tiled shower! Hard to store.
May 21, 2015
I got this for Mothers Day from my husband (because I asked for it! LOL). I have a relatively new home with lots of tile including a huge shower that was showing signs of aging that I wasn't ready for. Slimy in the corners, slick floor, calcification, even mold. This cleaned mostly all of it up! Small signs of calcification remain but I'm hopeful that it too will disappear after a few uses. It gets very hot! Its easy to use, and did a pretty good job on the shower. I also was inclined to purchase this steamer over others because of the window cleaning capability. The squeegee attachment, however, was disappointing. It just allowed water to run down and get everywhere, which might be ok for the outside of the windows, but certainly not the inside. I was disappointed. So I tried using the floor attachment with the included microfiber cloth, so only steam was applied to the windows. They stayed mostly dry and I was able to shine them up after a steam application, with a dry microfiber cleaning cloth and that worked very well. A little awkward since the mop head is quite large, but none the less, no mess and no streaks and very fast! It comes with a few attachments, but wish it had more. I don't plan on using it to clean my tile floors because I prefer my hoover hard floor cleaner for that.
UPDATE: 5/27/15 Hard to store, bulky, and hard to empty. I'm already not using it for things because I don't want to have to deal with it.
Great steamer with nice attachments
January 3, 2015
I bought this for steam cleaning and killing bacteria and other stuff in the carpet. It works really good and heats up fast. Downside is the fill hole is super small and hard to fill. Also the light does not work to tell you when it is warming up or ready to go. Not sure worth sending back but why the review is not a five star. I've used it about 6 times on walls, floors and bathroom toilets worked great.

Great cleaner, has plastic parts (the button that holds the attachmens to the nozzle) that broke quickly. Virtually unusable without. Wouldve given 5 stars if it hadnt broken so quickly.
GREAT machine WHEN it worked. No response from SteamFast but Amazon comes to the rescue.
October 27, 2014
GREAT Cleaner, BROKE after 35 days, TERRIBLE customer service from SteamFast (they didn't respond to emails to customer support). BUT - AMAZON is AWESOME for replacing it for me even though it was just outside the return window.

My review for just the cleaner had it not stopped working or SteamFast acted quickly would have been 5 stars. This sucker is super powerful. I was able to get years of grime and dirt off the shower floor that I couldn't remove with any other cleaner, no matter how hard I scrubbed. Made quick work of easier grime.

If you need a steamer that puts out a lot of water, this is the one.
January 8, 2017
Good steamer, heats up fast and easy to setup. I didn't like it because it spews an obscene amount of water at all times. I would have had to lay out towels for even the smallest of cleaning projects so I returned it.
Poor Quality - Good Steam
March 25, 2016
Poor quality. I mean...this device can produce a good amount of steam with good pressure but... is made of super cheap plastic parts. It's not easy assembly it together, start/stop buttons are super hard to press/release especially for my wife.
I was hoping that well know US brand McCulloch will care about products quality.
Will return this steamer and for sure and will well build, high quality european steamer made by Karcher.
Sorry McCulloch ....but for me quality counts
Disappointed

Plenty of attachments but the steam cleaner itself is extremely lacking in power and temperature. Don't be fooled by the "heated to over 200ºF". While the water may heat up to that much and the cleaner feels hot, when the steam comes out, it is anything but; more like <90ºF. I filled up the tank with ~40 oz of water and let it heat up for over 15 minutes. Within 2 minutes of constant use, the light flicked back on (indicating that the unit is warming up/not hot enough/ready for use, ALSO indicating that the unit has a problem with maintaining constant temperature). The surface of the floor I steamed was not even remotely hot. And there was constant water leakage, not just from the vapor. I let it run for a few seconds to get the initial water out and have tried using multiple attachments but water still leaked from all of them while using. You would probably get the same result from a ~$50 steam cleaner without all the fancy attachments. Definitely not worth the ~$100.
Not as good as I thought it was going to be
June 10, 2014
Came packaged very nicely, was great at cleaning the kitchen floor with the pad attachment. I was unable to get any change in my grout lines, not sure how others did it.
My biggest issue with this is that once you put water in it and wait 40 minutes for it to really heat up I found that you only have about 3 minutes worth of good adequate steam and then looses pressure and nothing comes out...I found waiting for about 5 minutes every so often increases the flow, steam and pressure that helps with cleaning, its hard to clean when you dont have hardly any water/steam coming out. Also on a seperate note I used the small attachment with the green pad and after a few strokes on my leather couch the green pad started to rip so it was rendered useless. I am pretty disappointed for the price I paid.
had to return it for not being hot enough!
January 2, 2013
Maybe I had a defective one, or maybe it's just a generally faulty product- but it did not get hot enough to generate a good steam. No pressure and a low temperature. Followed the instructions with waiting for the light and ended up with some unimpressive steam (we could hold our hands near the steam, definitely not hot!) and puddles of water on our surfaces. Tried it on the wood floors, tile floors, the bathtub, and marble counters- didn't clean anything that I couldn't do with a scrub sponge. Called the company and they accepted the return without an hassle. But it's definitely a well designed and sturdy product, so if you get one that works I imagine it would be great!

I really liked the machine
September 15, 2016
The first one I had started releasing steam from the handle. It was within the warranty and the company replaced. The replacement stopped working after one year.
I really liked the machine, when it worked.
Ehh
February 23, 2016
Poorly made poles give this steamer and bad feel for me.
It did push out a lot of steam to sanitize but the notation and claim that it cleans is defiantly False.
I bougth this for a few things.
1) Stove top for baked on grease around gas burners. Failed. Took off the enamel finish before the grease. This stove is 1 year old.
2) Ceramic couter top that is my kitchens germ infestation. Well I cooked the little bastards. But for getting noticeable results? Nope.
3) Kitchen vinyl tile floors got a good sanitizing, that's all it got.
4) My oven, well it didn't do much for the stove top, can you guess what it did for the oven.
NOTHING!
5) My truck rims. On this it actually punished some grim to my aluminum rims. But not enough to keep this.
Back it went.
For steaming of bed bugs I would buy it for that.
For steam sanitizing baby items and surfaces I would buy it for that as well.
But over all, all steamers are just that. Steamers with variations of construction and capacity.
Folks, there NOT cleaners.
Attachments worthless, doesn't even clean floors that well.
August 12, 2015
I would not recommend this steam cleaner. I bought this over a traditional steam mop because of the various attachments it comes with. Well, they're all useless. I figured that out pretty quickly. Additionally, the mop feature doesn't seem to work very well. The directions tell you to push forward and pull back- but it leaves marks on the floor in the spot where you change directions. Very, very frustrating. Also, you are supposed to be able to set the button in an "on" position, but mine "pops" every 3-4 seconds, which means i'm forced to hold the button pressed down for the entire 20 minutes or so that i'm cleaning. Not only annoying, but painful, too. I find that the pads are also hard to get clean.
works but fell apart. had to improvised
March 14, 2015
First day I used it...piece by piece it fell apart! I am only using the short nozzle part for what I need to do, it works great but the long piece broke...cant fix it fo r the bottoms (blue) are too small? They keep falling out. Anyways, the short piece with the nozzle is now duck taped for the pressure forces it off. It works...i can use it for my floors but it does work for now....I used it for 60 hours so far.
Could be better
June 28, 2014
It does make steam and lots of it. It does it rather quickly too. Pressure? eh!
PRO: Heats fast
Easily portable
Trigger locks on

CONS: Pressure is created by the tiny orifice (laws of physics). You must have the tip RIGHT next to anything to get high pressure.
Orifice can clog from being too close.
NO OPTION for replacement brushes--they are not listed online nor in the manual. ***UPDATE--Brush 5-packs now show when clicking Accessories under SF-370 listing.
No information on if or which accessories from other models will fit.

*** UPDATE 5/36/2015--It was time to clean the rear seat in my car before putting on seat covers. I immediately went to the "microfiber head" for the mop, thinking a gentle but usable option. It is NOT MICROFIBER AT ALL! It is 70% Polyester and 30% cotton. Microfiber has NO cotton in it. It is Polyester, nylon, and another polydimide. Therefore, this sheds and does NOT pick up like a true microfiber.
That left me to using upholsdtery cleaner and my real MF clothes; follewed by steam and another MF cloth.
SInce the pad is marked ROC, it is just another Chinese fake out of what you thought you were getting.
Tie a real MF cloth around the head and you'll be fine.

April 23, 2015
Not really useful. The Steamer only produces a steady shot of steam for about 20 seconds after that you will need to wait two minutes or so for the machine to warm back up. Also I tried cleaning a variety of surfaces like stained upholstery and caked on stove crud. The stains were still present on the upholstery after steaming and vacuuming (I wound up getting the stain out with shout and gentle scrubbing). On the stove crud, even with the brass brush attachment and working on the same spot through several steam cycles the steamer was completely ineffective. It did exactly the same job that a Brillo pad and comet cleaner did. Not worth the money in my opinion.

February 2, 2015
I bought this steamer based on good reviews, I have had a similiar one in past that lasted 10 years. This one sputtered, had low steam stream, really worthless for any uses. I tested the steam temperature at the nozzle, was 90 degrees, not enough to kill dust mites or sanitize, just throwing warm water around. Went back to my usual earth friendly scrub methods. Currently do not have a steamer, when I decide to spend the bucks will go other sites and get one that will do the job I expect it to do. Dont waste you time and money on this item

December 11, 2014
UPDATE on 3/22/2015 Read before buying.

After having this "heavy duty" (and I use this term lightly) Mc Culloch MC 1275 for exactly 5 months I am unhappy to report it is no longer working. I used it about a 15 times usually for 35 to 45 minutes in duration. I was about to use it again today and after filling the tank water leaked on one side onto the floor and no steam was emitted just a stream of water. My use was normally wood and tile floors, marble kitchen counters and tiled bathroom countertops...nothing too strenuous for this machine. It was no good on shower door residue, no good at all. Never cleaned my shower doors like the video at all. I also took good care of it emptying the machine after each use if I didn't use up all the water. I used filtered water not tap. I normally use the water up by the time I am done cleaning, normally I did not even need to empty the steam cleaner. This machine still looks new. Sadly it is too late to return it. I would just say buyer beware. So far, I have tried 3 steamers all under $150 and none of them worked over time or did what they claimed to do.

10/20/2014 Steamed my floors both tile and wood and it seems to have done a good job. I have not steamed my showers yet so the jury is out. I will update once I have done my shower doors.
Waste of time, money and energy
May 20, 2013
This is a piece of crap, waste of money and time. I have spent most of this afternoon trying to get this to work properly. The instructions say to attach brushes, the scrubbing pad, etc. to the steam nozzle, and when I do, they just fall right off. After just a couple of sweeps over my shower, the scrubbing pad is flat and worn out, and keeps falling off. The steam output is so poor that I have to keep checking it to make sure steam is coming out at all. Really a shoddy product. I owned a Hoover steamer that I bought from Hammacher Schlemmer, and it worked beautifully with billows of steam coming out & really got my natural-stone shower sparkling. Unfortunately, the steam button kept breaking, and I had to send it back twice. This machine will be returned as well. Don't waste your money or your time. I'm giving up on steamers after this experience.

Not a fan
August 2, 2017
Just not a fan. The cord is too short barely enough to reach an entire room. My home is average size 1560 square feet so rooms are not that large and I have to change plugs. The steam does not last for 45 minutes you have to wait in between to have it heat up. I can NOT recommend this product Oh and the floor attachment poll is short so you are bent over to do your floors. I have not used any of the other attachments so I can't weigh in Don't waste your money
You get what you pay for
October 28, 2015
This unit does not produce hot enough steam to actually "clean". I first tried the mop attachment on my tile floors, halfway through I questioned its temperature and sure enough I could keep my hand in front of the nossel; it was producing maybe luke warm mist. I thought maybe it's just because of the long attachment and won't work well for floors so I tried one of the little round scrubbing attachments on my shower tile and it produced slightly better results, but still not hot enough to sanitize.
Also only expect to use the brushes as a one-time use, they wear out easily.
The only good thing about the unit is its portability and it's very easy to maneuver.
Steam pressure is weak and does not do a good job at cleaning grout and oven grease
August 29, 2015
Had to return the item. Does not stand up to the use. Steam pressure is weak and does not do a good job at cleaning grout and oven grease.
Essential pieces of extension wand fell off within two minutes of first use.
May 31, 2015
The extension wand for floor cleaning clicks together, with the use of spring-loaded plastic buttons. (The buttons are already assembled/in place when you buy the product.) Within just two minutes of its first use, both the buttons and their springs popped out, and steam started coming out through those holes on the wand instead of through the mop head. I replaced them -- they clicked smartly into place, and then popped right out again. This is indicative of cheap components. I bought this, then was out of town for a month, so didn't use it until I came back and was beyond my 30-day return window. Thankfully, I had a great customer-service rep, Carla D., who made an exception when I explained the problem in full. So if you DO buy this, give it a good trial right away. A steam-cleaner is supposed to do heavy-duty tasks; this ultra-cheap plastic construction is unacceptable. I'm including four photos; the last is of the scrubber head component. The green scrubby material came off the plastic component in about 4 minutes; guessing the steam melted the adhesive. I didn't pull on it at all.
Terrible, dangerous steamer
March 26, 2015
This steamer is horrible. The plastic lever that is supposed to start and stop the steam doesn't work and steam pours out constantly soaking everything. There is no way to stop the steam. It is supposed to have a button if you want constant steam, but it doesn't work at all and just steams constantly. It is very, very dangerous. Horrible design with very cheap plastic buttons to regulate the steam. Had it on for 1 minute and the steam was just shooting all over. Avoid this at all cost!
