Five Star Reviews: | 69% Shipping was great and quality on this item has been great as ... October 3, 2016 I was looking for a medicine ball to do some basic old school workouts with , many of the other medicine balls looked to hard and slick to use. After looking at several options on amazon , I chose this leather medicine ball to try . Shipping was great and quality on this item has been great as well, its very well constructed and heavy duty stitched . So far it has held up to a lot of punishment and use, no signs of wear at all . I would definitely recommend this item and for the price it cant be beat in my opinion. Great exercise and rehab tool June 23, 2016 Very useful tool. Tons of exercises for core and upper body. Gives variety for workout. Some days I will do a series of 6-8 exercises just using this ball. I like the 10#. I am average strength. 180#. My wife has 5# ball. I happen to be a physician and I like this ball links with rehab. I'm thinking this may be useful for osteoporosis when you toss it and catch it. The weight causing a mild jarring effect may influence bone deposition. It may be especially helpful with arm and shoulder injuries. The best at a good price July 7, 2015 Tremendous medicine ball. I have been slamming this ball and tossing it against concrete, brick, blacktop, trees, poles for 2 years straight and it has held up perfectly fine. I use it twice a week for over 200 slams each workout as hard as I can (and I weight 200 lbs). It provides a great plyometric, cardio workout. Save your money on the dynamax, this ball does the job for a much better price. it is leather and looks nice. I wish they made a ball that weighed 20 lbs. The ball I use weighs 14 lbs. When I weighed it when I first got it, it read 13.5 lbs. Versatile and good option over Ugi August 11, 2014 I'm so glad I bought this instead of the crazy expensive Ugi ball. Why are people buying those anyway????? This is the perfect balance between softness and firmness so I can do a lot of balancing exercises on it. I must say, though, I underestimated the weight. Because of how you hold a ball, the weight is actually more challenging to move than if it were, say, a 14-15 lb barbell. There is more "squeezing" and stabilizing and core involved with using this ball in exercises. I wanted that, but I think I'll also go for a smaller, lighter ball for some things. As for quality, this ball is high, good material that seems to stick even with sweat. If you're looking for something to put your weight upon, like in elevated push ups or elevated mountain climbers, using a ball (for example), I recommend this size. It's big enough for that. Maybe the one size down would work, too. Gives just the right amount of instability for the challenge. Is it 14 or 15 Pounds? August 7, 2014 I'm not quite sure if this ball is 14lbs or 15lbs, or, as the listing now reads "15.43 Lbs." Even the ball itself reads "14-15 LBS." Why can't it be an exact weight? Don't they have scales in Pakistan? Anyway, expect a medicine ball that's larger then the basketball-sized 6, 8 or 10 lbs medicine balls you may be using. There was a bit of adjustment using this size, but I got the hang of it pretty fast. The quality is good and I'm happy with the purchase. Fantastic for the price July 18, 2013 Firsy, these are not bouncers so we can't compare them to that style. Second, look at the price. Third, I am by no means a workout warrior, or even adjacent to a workout warrior.I bought one of each weight so I would have all the variety I would need depending on what I was doing. They seem solid with a little give for gripping. I saw reviews saying they are slick which I suppose is true to an extent, but I think that is only in comparison to these expensive other options. Whether or not is has less give than others, it still requires grip to catch and handle, and weight is weight.I can see where people say they tend to get a slight flat spot or not quite centered so they roll to a particular side when set down. But this is so minor it doesn't take away from the usability. It's not like a tomato with a slice out of it. And you won't be spinning it at high RPM to test it's center of gravity. It's tossing, throwing, grabbing and whatever. It's so slight and such a non-issue for me at least.Bottom line, for the average person these are a great value. After comparing the prices to other options, there is no way I have any regrets about getting these. For medicine ball aficionados I'm sure they are subpar. But for this guy and at these prices they were a steal. | 75% I like slamming it on the ground and squatting to pick ... April 7, 2017 I like slamming it on the ground and squatting to pick it up before it bounces a secon time. Great workout! Great medicine ball February 25, 2017 I love my Rep medicine ball! I haven't had it for long, but so far it works great and seems to made very well! It's big so it's great to do push-ups and bridges off of. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a bigger style medicine ball. This is put together very very well March 1, 2016 This is the best size to listen for long time Is put together very very well A CrossFit Must Have December 23, 2015 I use this for wall balls and ab exercises. It takes a lot of beating from hitting the wall to dropping on the ground when I throw it in the air but I'm too tired to catch it. I use it indoor and outdoor. It doesn't mark up my walls. The material it is well made. This is a great addition to a killer workout. The quality is amazing! I love this ball. I would definitely recommend Rep Fitness to anyone June 16, 2015 Incredible product and service levels. I would definitely recommend Rep Fitness to anyone. Thanks. |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% After reading all the comments I went ahead and purchased ... December 17, 2016 After reading all the comments I went ahead and purchased it. And sure enough, the surface is slippery, and the ball is not circumferenced completely, but it is working once I got used to it. My nose is intact. August 18, 2016 I bought this to strengthen my hand for setting in volleyball. I've managed not to drop it on my face while practicing, so it's got that going for it. The ball inside was dirty and even perhaps mildewed June 16, 2015 This arrived in a plastic bag that appeared to have, at some point, been wet. The ball inside was dirty and even perhaps mildewed. However, after a little sponge bath everything was okay and is as expected. I like the leather medicine balls better than other types because they're a little more flexible and easier to hold when doing stabilizing exercises. If you want something with any bounce, this is not the ball you're looking for. Econo Medicine Ball, works as designed May 16, 2014 First off: this wacky picture keeps showing a 4-5 pound ball--I received the 11lb ball with no problem.Next: it's, let's say, quickly constructed to not terribly specific tolerances, i.e. it's oblong, not evenly weighted , etc.Third: man, for the price, can't beat these Champion balls. They're old-school, leather, and good for a home workout. I own the 7-9, 11, and 13lb versions, and I'm very happy having the set for the price of one, maybe two, more modern balls. A keeper. Not a standard sized crossfit ball June 24, 2013 Just received this ball in the 10lb version, unfortunately I had to return it due to the size. The ball itself looked pretty decent, and the price was right, but if you're used to a crossfit sized ball (~14"), then this is not the ball for you. This ball if I had to eyeball it, is around 9-10", noticeably smaller. The ball cost $18 in shipping to return due to 3rd party vendor, so not worth ordering just to test it, decide if you don't mind a smaller ball before you order. I felt like this ball might be a bit more annoying in a small size for wall ball tosses, and definitely can't use it as an air squat "guide", but I could see it being fine for slams and other exercises.tldr: significantly smaller than regular crossfit ball, but quality seems good | 15% I don't know how it is used but he tells me it is very helpful and he's very satisfied with it July 26, 2017 present for my son. He uses it on a regular basis and now he wants one that is heavier.....he'll have to wait till next Christmas.I don't know how it is used but he tells me it is very helpful and he's very satisfied with it. Well made but doesn't have the grip of rogue July 8, 2017 Well made bit compared to the rogue ball I use at my Crossfit gym this one just does t have the grip so I feel I am struggling to throw it when I do walk balls but hopefully that will get better with use. Very well made though no complaints there I really like the slight bounce it has August 17, 2016 I really like the slight bounce it has, the feel of the cover, and am really hopeful it holds up to all the rigorous training that takes place at my gym. I'm ready to order a couple more of different weights. So for the price so far it is really good. Sometimes when doing wall balls I will just ... July 31, 2016 So for the price so far it is really good. Sometimes when doing wall balls I will just let the ball hit the floor. This ball goes have bit more of a bounce when it hits. So it just needs a bit of guidance, but it does not bother me much. I have only had it a month but have used it multiple times and so far is holding up great. I would recommend it to others, just with the little heads up on the bounce. Worth the money esp. compared to Rogue July 22, 2016 Well worth the price (plus no shipping makes it way cheaper than Rogue). A little slippery, but think that should go away with use. Very satisfied with the purchase. Wonderful upon the unboxing! July 10, 2016 Well, it arrived sooner than expected and it looks every bit the part. I have not put it through its paces yet so can't comment on durability yet.The surface is quite smooth - I actually would prefer more texture since I'll be playing catch with this thing. With more texture, this would be a 5 star product. |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Denser than expected. No good for wall balls May 8, 2017 Bought the 5 lb ball. It is denser than I expected. I was looking for something kids could do CrossFit wall balls with. This was relatively light but dense because it was small and had a hard surface. Wouldn't want it to hit anyone's face. Medicine Ball May 5, 2017 It's a good weight, but this medicine ball is too bouncy for my liking. And it bounces in all directions, which makes it difficult to stay in the momentum while doing slam ball exercises. This ball is best used for wall throws, or tossing with a partner. Not like most crossfit wall/med balls March 22, 2017 Very hard. Not like most crossfit wall/med balls. Off balance weighting August 11, 2016 This medicine ball is weighted heavier on one side so when you're holding it it seems to lean/favor one side of the ball, making it feel off balance and awkward to use. However, it is made of nice strong leather. The outside feels like a boxing glove September 15, 2014 Im not sure what the content is made of, but the shape will change each use.Unlike the rubber medicine ball counterpart, this one is made of softer material. The outside feels like a boxing glove, and the inside uses some sort of soft paddings. It was rather big for a 14/15lb medicine ball but it has its use.Because the shape changes, it can be used as a chair without the fear of rolling under you.Over all, its decent but if you want a harder/solider item, there are options out there Price is right, Bob! But... December 31, 2013 I bought this ball to drop and pickup, drop and pickup, drop and throw, and to use for crunches. It serves the purpose. The ball came in lopsided. I have massaged it to a ball shape (har), but it took a few months. If you buy it, check the shape right away. Hay. | 3% nylon tab ripped off on one and some of the ... February 6, 2017 nylon tab ripped off on one and some of the threading is coming out - not exactly for "hard" use The New Medicine Ball December 1, 2015 I probably should have bought a ball less heavy, however, I still feel that it would have been nicer if for the same weight it were larger. The surface is soft which is nice. I remember that 30 years ago or so they were not so heavy in proportion to their size. |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% if feels like the weight is on one side of the ball ... November 25, 2016 Two issues I have with this medicine ball; the grip ability is low which is important when tossing it back and forth and the weight is off centered; if feels like the weight is on one side of the ball which is bad when tossing it around or even simply holding it doing core work. You get what you pay for. It has style, but... January 11, 2016 Not what I was expecting. Too big (be sure to take note of the diameter measurement), cheap feel, lumpy, unwieldy, impractical. I need a medicine ball that allows for a better grip. I'm also confused as to whether Amazon will refund the $13 UPS return shipping or not. A case where I should have paid more attention to everything when placing the order. Weak Balls December 16, 2015 Slick Pleather. Not very well balanced. Limited ways to effectively use it, particularly for dynamic movements. Would not buy this again, nor would I recommend it to a friend. Very slippery when wet April 7, 2015 The medicine ball does its job. However, I have had this for a couple of months now and it still has a strange musty odor to it. Also, this ball has no grip/traction to the outside of the ball. If I am working out and have sweat on my hands, this ball will slip right through my fingers. I have to be very careful when using it because I cannot have a 6-7 pound ball flying out of my hands. The next time I buy a medicine ball, I will buy one that has a grip to it like a basketball. When I think medicine ball I didn't picture getting a ball much larger than a basketball like this one September 30, 2014 The 14-15 is much wider than I pictured and hoped. When I think medicine ball I didn't picture getting a ball much larger than a basketball like this one. I was hoping for one at least a little smaller than a basketball. Makes it hard for me to grip and do the exercise I hoped to do. May work for a man with large hands. Wish the diameter was listed as well as the weight. Feel like pretty strong material and seems like it would last. Just not what I wanted or expected. great exterior construction almost unusable because it is SP unbalanced February 13, 2014 Very unbalanced. This medicine ball is too unbalanced to use for slams or even as static weight or roll.... the thing it has going for it is the exterior construction. | 5% A nice ball, good colors, doesn't hold up well. September 13, 2017 These are really nice balls, but the 20# ball that I bought split at one seam right away. The company will not repair or replace because the ball was used as a slam ball (after the damage was done). That's fair because they do say not to use the ball as a slam ball, however I have another one that has been slammed bunch and it has held up well. I don't know if the problem is only in the heavier balls, but both of the 20# balls that I know about have had problems with the seams. Do not purchase if you are going to use it for slam or wall throws. Soft medicine ball August 30, 2017 Was happy to receive this when it arrived - looked exactly as pictured, however it fell apart after being used just a few times. Not very durable at all. Sadly, I will be returning this medicine ball. TOO SLIPPERY June 18, 2017 Well made but TOO SLIPPERY. I bought this to use at home when my gym is closed or I'm out of time. The quality is great but it has nitration (except by the laces). It's not useful at all. |
One Star Reviews: | 4% Leather material feels cheap and is slippery. It's weighted ... March 20, 2017 Leather material feels cheap and is slippery. It's weighted poorly, very imbalanced. Also, it's very large. All together, this medicine ball is awkward to use. I advise getting a ball of the same weight, but smaller and rubber, if you can spend a little more money. ... had just paid a little more to get a better product. April 14, 2016 I wish I had just paid a little more to get a better product. One Star December 18, 2015 I used this medicine ball a couple times and it started leaking a white powder! Bad quality October 10, 2015 The ball was filled by flour. The second week after the purchase I noted the ball was losing some flour and was unpicked. What can you expect of a product made in Pakistan. | 2% Terrible July 28, 2017 This is incredibly unbalanced- my theory is this has a legitimate weighted object in the center with padding surrounding that weighted object. Not for wallballs, not for general CrossFit style. Buy Rogue. |
