Amazing product
January 13, 2017
I never usually write reviews for any products I purchase, however this racing wheel is absolutely 100% amazing. All my life I have loved racing games and recently I got into the ForzaMotorsport series. Never before have I played a forza game due to the fact that i was not a racing sim game. I kept hearing amazing things about Forza so I decided to pick up an Xbox one just to try it out and I fell inlove with the game so much that I decided to invest in steering wheel. There is a lot of stearing wheels out in the market. I decided to go for the ThrustMaster Tx Racing Wheel due to the fact that I loved the design and I like the idea of having an ecosystem of interchangeable and add on parts. I fell inlove with this wheel and can say it was hands down the best $300 I have ever spend. Was the wheel worth so much money? Absolutely most definitely it is, you get what you pay for. The wheel makes playing racing game so much better this wheel changed racing games for me there so much more enjoyable to me now I find my self smiling as I play. I see no flaws in this wheel, the force feedback is absolutely amazing and the stock rim is beautiful. My full rig consist of the TX Racing Wheel with the stock pedals and rim it comes with and a TH8A shifter and holding it all together a wheel stand pro. I absolutely recommend anyone who's loves racing games to pick up this wheel it's pricey but it's definitely worth it.

Great feed back for Xbox one. Doesn't come with manual, so go on-line to read it. I hooked it up and tried to turn on the console with the Xbox button on the servo. The console turns on, but didn't recognize the controller and it didn't work. Plug the servo in and always turn on with the button on the console and it works great. I mounted it with the table clamp and it doesn't move around at all, even with the force feed back set at a high level. I have used other steering wheels on the Xbox 360 and after I changed to the Xbox One with this unit, it is the best that I have experienced. Really like that you can order this servo alone and change the steering wheel and pedals to your own preference. I have all the racing games that are available for the Xbox One and this works great for all of them. LETS GO RACING BOYS!!!
Everything I expected
January 29, 2016
It was everything I expected and more. The wheel itself feels incredibly sturdy and well built although it could a lot bigger being only 8.5 inches, along with the TH8A shifter feeling incredibly smooth and high quality. Highly reccomend the wheelstand pro, the wheel will shake everything on your desk.
The perfect base for creating the perfect setup for < $1000
October 10, 2015
This hub is great, I got this along with the Thrustmaster VG T3PA-PRO 3-Pedal Add-On Set, the Thrustmaster VG TM Leather 28 GT Wheel Add-On, and the Thrustmaster Ferrari F1 Wheel Add-On, The feedback on this is the best I have used, I love the fact that you can change out the wheel, it makes it so you can expand beyond a standard setup, I decided to return the 2 wheels that I ordered in favor of the Thrustmaster VG Ferrari 599XX EVO Wheel Add-On, I have played with the 458 Italia wheel, and did not like the overall feel of it, and it is smaller than the real thing so knowing that the 599XX EVO wheel is the real deal, I think that it is going to make this the perfect setup I can get without climbing in to the $1000 + price range
Great wheel, great value (especially for XB1). Save for the add-ons, they really turn it up to 11.
August 17, 2015
Great wheel. I used to have a force GT, which was a great all around good value. As soon as I tried this wheel I could not believed the level of realisim and feedback one gets. I've used it in Forza 5, Dirt Rally and most recently Horizon 2. On horizon 2 the Force feedback really shines thru.I do have to admid however that the stock configuration is not ideal. The standard wheel feels toy like. Too plastic. The pedals are not bad, if you don't miss the 3 pedal. And yes, mine broke too. I got a replacement back within a week free of charge. Those things happen. My setup has the TH8A shifter, T3PA pedals, and the Ferrari GTE wheel. All toghether it comes to be a little on the expensive side, but you can minimize cost by looking around for deals. All things considered this setup ultimatelly comes up to be slightly lower, or at worst at the same price as the competition from what I've seen. Also if you are a racing fan, it is a small price to pay for the experience, as it is safer and way cheaper than real racing. :PI have the F1 wheel too, but I haven't used much since I mostly do Horizon now a days. Hopefully when Forza 6 comes, I'll be hable to give it some hours. For the seat frame, I opted to build my own. A couple of boards from a hardware store and some screws are cheaper than any decent setup I saw online. It may not look pretty, but then again I don't think a racing seat and some tubes look pretty in any living room either. I painted mine mat black, and when lights are off, all I see is the screen. Building it yourself, you can setup your sitting possition as you like, I went for something similar to an LMP/F1 seating possition. it is nice.*** Make sure, whatever the base you use for it it is sturdy, not only strong, but also stiff. The forced feedback is really strong, really strong. It gives real feel and feedback, think about turning the wheels in a non powersteered car. If the frame is not sturdy it will deflect and you will loose some of the feel. You can dial down the feedback, but according to me, if you are paying that much for a setup you might as well get the most out of it. ***To recap. Great wheel, great value (especially for XB1), considered what is on the market. If you can, save for the add-ons, they really turn it up to 11. Sturdy base needed. If you have any questions let me know.
The built in clamp works great on my wheel stand since the stand doesn't have ...
February 19, 2015
With my purchase of an Xbox One I could no longer use my Fanatec CSR. When this wheel went on sale just before Christmas I went ahead and bought one. The wheel base itself is solid and doesn't take up much space. The built in clamp works great on my wheel stand since the stand doesn't have holes drilled for the TX yet. With it clamped to the wheel stand I have never had a problem with it moving around. The wheel itself is plastic but so was most of the Fanatec CSR. The difference is on the TX I don't feel like I'm going to break the rim if I use the whole wheel and not just the grips. Another plus is all the buttons work in the UI. With the Fanatec in Forza 4 there were some places where you could not navigate the menus because the buttons were not recognized. A downside is that the wheel is smaller. Its not too small like my old Logitech MOMO wheel but it is noticeable coming from the CSR.The pedals are really the only downside to the setup. The most obvious is there is no clutch pedal as plenty of others have noted. Another downside I found is that the pedal base slightly rocks back and forth. I attached a strap to my pedals to keep this from happening but it was noticeable prior to my modification.Force feedback to me feels pretty good in Forza 5.One area that the Fanatec trumps the Thrustmaster in though is custom settings. The Fanatec allowed certain settings on the wheel to be changed on the fly through use of the LED desplay on the wheel itself. This made a huge difference in some games like F1 2013. The Thrustmaster relies completely on the in game settings.Overall I am pretty happy with the TX and look forward to a lot more races. I have just ordered the GTE wheel and can't wait for it to get here.

I love it! No complaints here
August 21, 2017
I love it! No complaints here! It's a whole new experience. I have raced cars on closed course circuits and it's very similar in Gran Turismo. Only places I would like to see Logitech improve on realism is the gear shifter feels very plastic-e. The metal against metal in the shifter would feel much more realistic. Also if there would be a way to give feedback through the clutch, brake and gas petals, it would make shifting feel a lot more realistic. Of course using the paddles just makes you lazy ;) Works well on the PS3 and the Computer, haven't tried it on many of the games though. I've spent endless hours with the torque on it's highest setting. I haven't felt it fade or get too hot. It's a very nice setup!Keep in mind, it can only be truely appreciated if you can mount it to something securely, especially the pedals, so they're not moving around on you. I screwed the pedals into the hard plastic floor mat that covers the carpet in our office and this worked perfectly in my situation. I also have a flat overhang on the desk I mount the steering wheel to. I can't wait to upgrade to an actual racing seat setup :D
Best Affordable Steering Wheel That Exist today.
January 8, 2016
Best Affordable Steering Wheel That Exist today. Bought this wheel as i find out that it was possible to drift within different sim racing game. As i bought it i was not expecting the wheel to be of high quality. However, i was dead wrong. This wheel in my opinion is one of the best affordable wheels available in the market.Pros,Excellent build quality, everything on this wheel felt durable specially the steering wheel itself which is good since it's the part that would take the most abuse. The Force Feedback on this Steering wheel is great in simulating that real car feel which is very very strong. Another great thing is the 900 degree rotation which is a must for drifting in Sim racing Game. There are many buttons position within the steering wheel which is great for different uses that can each be program with in the game. The additional paddle shifter that rotates with the steering wheel is also an added bonus(however, in drifting i dont use it since ill be using the shifter).Moving on to the shifter, The feel is great, however is somewhat light but nothing to complain about. It is responsive and can easily be shifted without any problems, There are also addition buttons included in the shifter as well which is great for binding keys in game.Lastly the Pedals are also that of amazing quality. They are very which gives them that real car feel. The gas, brake, and clutch all feel very good in a way that imitates a real car as well.Installing, wiring, and mounting were also a breeze i was able to get this set up in about 30 minutes and begin playing.Cons,The only suggestion i could give for this product are the wires themselves. They are very thin and i find them susceptible to breakingOverall a great wheel for the price and recommend it for those looking to play Racing Simulator games.
build quality and enjoyment from using it
July 26, 2015
If you are looking for a racing wheel to go along with your many racing games and driving simulators on your PC this wheel is for you. I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars on pure product usage, build quality and enjoyment from using it. The biggest disappointment from this product is that it is not compatible with the PS4 only the newer G29 is compatible. I know you can't blame logitech because it is software through the sony that won't allow it, but it is still a disappointment that it's not possible due to the fact companies want to make more money. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to play games on a PC with a wheel. The price range is reasonable for a wheel such as this one. The force feedback feature makes games so much more fun to play. This wheel is not like playing in an arcade as a kid where you throw the wheel back and forth swerving. Many games are compatible with the force feedback feature. The clutch on this is also what makes this wheel and pedal set so much better, this feature adds so much more realism to playing simulators and games. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.Pros:-Very nice build quality-Force Feedback-Clutch and Shifter-Nice leather wheel-Excess off buttons to bind-Paddle ShiftersCons:-Medium Price range not super affordable for day to day gamer.-Sometimes hard to attach to certain desks-Not compatible with every gameI would recommend this to anyone that has the money and has been wanting a wheel to use for a various number of video games. Be careful and do your research to make sure the games you want to play are compatible though. This product though is an investment as it is reasonable price range for the quality of product but is not a cheap purchase.
It's obviously all good. I'm going to touch on the price specifically
November 23, 2014
Plenty of reviews covering the mechanics, usage, etc. It's obviously all good. I'm going to touch on the price specifically.Short version: It's worth it. If you're considering the g27 at all then it's probably the right wheel for you.Why not something cheaper?Everything cheaper is a LOT cheaper in some way. Pedals are way worse, or the mechanics fail, or the FFB is super weak or inaccurate. Most common: no shifter (again, if you're considering this then you're considering a shifter and it's worth it.). If you go cheaper (and you're considering this, meaning you're not doing it ONLY because of price...) you may not be disappointed (there are good buys for less), but some day you WILL want to upgrade to this anyway. Do it now and save the time, save the money on a throw away cheaper wheel, and get it right from the start. Why not something more expensive?More expensive wheels are (often but not always) better. Heavier duty, better shifters, better pedals, more solid, etc. But their cost is also almost always 1.5x to 2x to 3x to 5x that of the g27. Are they better? probably, but are they worth the difference in cost? Unlike with the cheaper wheels (which the g27 is a HUGE upgrade to) the more expensive wheels are usually a LOT more money for a *little* more feel. Additionally when you're looking at high end components you tend to be looking at piece meal configurations. You buy just the right pedals, just the right shifter, a separate E brake, etc. The g27 is an excellent bundle, and from there it's easy to piece meal your upgrades as you want them/can afford them without having any one piece that lets your whole set up down by being junk. Buying a $50 wheel and then $250 pedals and a $150 shifter just makes you realize how crap that $50 wheel is. But you can add those pedals and shifter to a g27 and it all feels right.
high end steering wheel, with some real world feel.
September 15, 2014
This is a great steering wheel and shifter combo. There was a problem with the pedals being too stiff for the brake pedal. Found out that it was only a spring issue and going to a local hardware store was able to get a spring to modify the clutch pedal spring and allow me to use the clutch pedal spring in the brake pedal. Otherwise, I was tempted to return the pedals because I couldn't literally push the brake pedal down beyond a few degrees.I prefer to drive a manual transmission without pedal shifters. The shifter is nicely notchy like the car I drive has. Because the shifter is separate makes it easier to position it on my desk too. The only issue I really have with it, is that unless the game supports the shifter properly you can shift without using the clutch and generally you can't do that with real world vehicles. The other thing too is that the shift indicator only works if the game supports it too. However, more than likely you'll not be looking down for that if you're playing a game. The steering wheel being leather wrapped, isn't the quality leather you'd find in premium cars, but it is of a good quality to not have your hands getting all wet and sticky some rubber wheel like you'd find on cheaper steering wheel controllers. That being said, the metal paddles are rather sharp edged, so you might want to be careful rubbing your hands on them. Also, speaking of the buttons on the steering wheel and shifter, you'll have to set them up in all your games more than likely as some games (most games) don't have presets for this steering wheel already set up for say "this button does this, and that that..."Overall, the controller is nice and customizable since you can even change the shifter knob if you wanted. Not sure why, but if you wanted you could even change the steering wheel. I wouldn't recommend it, but it is helpful and shows why I think that its worth every penny that it costs. To just let you know, I use to have a Driving Force Pro steering wheel that only had two pedals and a sequential shifter, I used it but I don't like it. This one feels way more expensive, is way more expensive, and does things that you'd expect from driving a real world car... all without the extremely loud noise that I use to hear from other steering wheels like the Driving Force Pro. So, it is good for a quiet room or a house that needs to keep the noise down some.
Gotta Love It
July 9, 2013
I just received this package yesterday and I must say after a month of playing F1 2012 and other racing sims with a wireless controller, it was a welcomed relief. I have only a few hours with it so far and all I can say at this point is YES YES YES, and WOW, what a difference. This wheel/pedal combo is smooth, precise, feels great as far as force feedback, and has worked flawlessly on every sim I have from NASCAR Racing Season 2003, Grid, DIRT, and F1 2012. The easiest plug-n-play experience I have had in a long time. Good thing too because there is no manual. However it is so user friendly the software is even a no-brainer. I set up the functions for each sim so it has customization capability for every simulation that I have, old and new. BONUS, it shipped with rFactor which I have yet to install. My favorite all time sim is NASCAR 2003 from Papyrus and I was a little skeptical it would go as smoothly as it did. It actually detected the the game right off the rip and all I had to do was assign the buttons to what I wanted them to do and it was a done deal. Yes sir ree I am one happy camper. Logitech G27 Racing Wheel As far as Amazon goes, ordered it and received it exactly as promised, as usual.

Bad out of box but good service so far....
September 27, 2017
Purchased the servo, wheel and a chair (Playseat Challenge?) along with great pedals.I like (them) it just fine but the servo is defective out of the box. Spent over an hour with some VERY nice people at the manufacturer; upshot is that the servo's USB connector is bad (and we have installed all of the updates). They have very kindly offered to fix or replace it, non-refurbished. That kind of thing turns your head! It's on its way back to the manufacturer and I will update this rating upon its return.Sure hope it's a quick turnaround because there are a few things that I want to do yet on FORZA 6 before the new one comes out; hopefully this rig will work with the new FORZA as well as the new Xbox console when it arrives in a couple of months.

great wheel to get started with, good weight and feedback. Fits multiple wheels and peddles so you can upgrade.
Solid, Stable, Fun
November 21, 2016
I use this primarily with an Xbox One and really enjoy it. It's a different world from controller games so I don't think someone should expect themselves to be "good" right away. It's far and away a different animal and some games handle the wheel control better than others.Build quality is solid. I've got a month's use.
With a few upgrades it's 5 stars
September 3, 2016
I have been a long time video game racing fan, but new to sim racing at the time of purchasing the Thurstmaster TX. Never had playing a video game in my 25 years of gaming felt so good and engaging. (yes I’m an old man) The force feedback feels so natural and intuitive. The experience this wheel can give you is worth 5 stars, but you will need to purchase a few more things. To be fair, the first one I got broke very quickly, but what little time I spent with the wheel sold me on the whole experience. So much so that I immediately bought a second one and built an entire rig around it with a racing seat. The actual rim and pedals that come bundled with the TX wheel are cheap and I recommend replacing them on an as needed basis, I have overtime piece by piece. (Sim racing isn’t cheap and the more money you spend the better your experience will be). I bought the wheel sept of 2014 in anticipation of Forza Horizon 2. (Worked great). I have been a Forza fan since the second Forza motorsports. I used a conventional control up until I purchased the wheel and haven’t looked back since. This wheel was built for Forza 6. Its plug and play and my main use of the wheel. I have Project CARS and works great as well but there is a lot more prep with adjusting you’re in game settings. (I have a lot more to say on that but that has more to do with the game than the wheel so I won’t go into it). After logging many racing hours with my Thurstmaster TX wheel It still works great. I have had no issues with my 2nd wheel. It came with the latest update at time of purchased. The pedals and rim that are bundled with the TX are just fine and are the reason why I gave the wheel only 4 stars. If you have the money and want the 5 star experience you will need to upgrading to a better rim and 3 pedal set and the shifter as soon as possible. With or Without upgrades buy now before Forza Horizon 3 comes out.
Feels great, looks great, easy setup, just one small problem I encountered.
November 12, 2015
The setup was surprising easy, the feel is great, the in game compatibility with Forza 6 is amazing. However after 3 weeks, I was losing connection to my pedals. It was intermittently going in and out. Steering wheel worked perfect, just when flooring the accelerator/clutch/brake pedals nothing was being applied in game. I looked into the firmware and was not the issue. I realized the issue was with the port connecting the pedals to the wheel. Even when the port connection clicked in, it had a few millimeters of movement. Thus the only workaround I had for this was to have my finger held down on the connection. This fixed the issue, however of course this is not a reasonable fix. I've tried taping it down, but any time the force feedback would kick in, it will intermittently lose connection due to the cable moving a little bit in the port. At first I thought it was maybe the certain types of cars I drove in game, but realized it was happening to previous cars I was driving fine in. I have requested for a replacement and hopefully will not have this problem. Overall before this problem, this wheel worked perfectly and felt great. I would still highly recommend.
Great immersion. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
June 12, 2015
Downloading the drivers and updates for the wheel was no where near as difficult as people make it out to be. MAKE SURE TO UPDATE TO CURRENT FIRMWARE! Do the firmware upgrades before anything else. And follow thrustmaster pdf instructions. That being said this is an excellent product. I have been a sim racer for a decade and a half and the force feedback on this wheel is unrivaled. The tune-ability is endless. The shifters are firm and precise. Being all metal they have a nice feel to them. The rim construction is a replica so don't expect ferrari leather and carbon fiber. It is a 7:10 replica. It has decent weight and the rubber grip isn't bad. However it isn't the greatest. The forces that come from within the base are unbelievable. The base alone is worth the money. I have been playing Project CARS and I have never felt so immersed in a game since the first time I played Colin McRae rally and used the first person view. So the force feedback is supremo. The pedals are the reason this is a 4 star and not a 5. Due to it coming in a 458 italian configuration there is no clutch. (Probably so you buy the amazing tp3a pro pedals) The break does have more resistance than the accelerator but unless the pedals are strapped down they will move around on you when you brake. Overall a great wheel. Anyone on pc and or xbox one should give this wheel a go. Since it works for both I will use it on both. This only adds to the value. I have logged about 4 hours and close to 100 or so laps on various tracks and in various cars and it has had 0 issues. Just make sure you are up to date on the firmware and warm up those arms and you'll be ready to race.

Great piece of hardware
February 23, 2015
Great piece of hardware. Definitely a 5-star in every category for the price. The next wheel up from this one is basically a $500 setup, so it's a big price gap where nothing really competes with the G27. The only thing I don't like about the hardware is the hard-to-grip vice twist things, whatever you want to call the clamping system. It's like they make it hard to grip so you can't twist it so hard you break the plastic that it's made of. However, it's barely possible to make it tight enough to stay in position, but it is possible so that's not a huge deal. I want to be able to quickly set it up and take it down, though, and it's cumbersome to say the least.I take away 1 star for terrible, awful Logitech software. Two things: 1) Logitech Gaming Software stopped supporting the G27 back in version 5.1. It's on version 8.xx now. You will be running two version of LGS side by side if you use other Logitech hardware, like a gaming mouse that 90% of G27 owners probably have. 2) The download for the old version 5.10 LGS is broken for 64-bit users. If you choose to download the 64-bit version, you get the 32-bit version and it will not install on 64-bit Windows. Oh it acts like it installs and says it completes, but if you pay attention you will see it takes zero seconds to copy files during the install while it should take at least 5 seconds to copy files. After the install, you look for it on your Start Menu and nothing is there. Confusing. No where on the web page does it make mention of this problem. You might get lucky and find the correct 64-bit download posted in the Logitech forums without too much searching. I bet someone in the Amazon comments has a link to the download as well. Basically, it's typical Logitech: Great hardware, terrible software...just like their Harmony remotes and their mouse software until recently.Other thoughts: The wheel-weight (how hard it is to turn the wheel when driving) is heavy. I don't have experience with force-feedback wheels except for an old Logitech Momo wheel, so maybe I'm just not used to it. However, I have driven several cars and trucks in my life and they are all pretty easy to turn with one hand. However, when using a G27 or the Momo, it's like driving a big-rig without power-steering. I'm pretty sure the STi I'm driving in-game has power steering, yet I'm getting a work-out with both arms trying to turn the wheel. Ya, I get it, I'm racing in the game so it should be hard, but it's just not realistic to me. Small little turns at 50mph in a car with power steering should be doable with like 1 finger. Some games have a wheel-weight setting (Assetto Corsa maybe? I forget because I've been trying lots of driving games), but I couldn't feel a difference between 0%, 10%, 90%, and 100%. I'll research this a bit and see if I can make it more realistic in the games I'm playing (Assetto Corsa, GRID, GRID2, DiRT2, Euro Truck Sim 2, F1 2012, etc.). Speaking of Assetto Corsa...wow this game makes it feel like every car has butter all over its tires. Turning the wheel a little bit at 35mph and I'm just squealing the tires and plowing through corners. This is supposedly accurate though...I guess the true sims take a while to get used to after playing Codemaster games a lot.
Great wheel for price!
December 16, 2014
This is my fourth gaming steering wheel and it is nice but lacks in some places. My first wheel was a Madcat and well for $20 you get what you pay for. The second was a Microsoft wheel... The third wheel I owned was this little company that was new to the market, named Fanatec. I was one of the first 2000 to own their first wheel. After owning that wheel for years I knew it's ups and downs like their H-shifter had a plastic stock... found that out one day in the middle of a close race when I shifted it snapped and well... I lost that race. The brake felt... too light and I could hardly tell if I was pressing the gas or not.Now with this wheel.. none of those are present. The H-shifter is made of metal so good luck snapping it, the brake pedal has some pressure to it, although it is a still pressure and by that I mean it is the same strength as it was to start... I wish it was harder the further you press. There is an aftermarket part to do so but it costs $160 or so... For that I can add stuff to my real car. The pedal set is nice stainless steel which is awesome, but if you rev match without shoes on... well it hurts after two times. There is also a way to mount the pedal set GT style (upside down) but that requires either building a rig or paying $1x0 for it. I think that is really cool, since sometimes I cannot tell if how far I am pressing the gas.The H-shifter. This is nice, but the silver plate where the buttons are located, that is stainless steel too... This to me seems completely unnecessary. I would rather them use that metal or money to improve the feel of the shifter. I drive a manual car with a short throw shifter. I know how a shifter should feel, and this just feels like they don't care. When you shift it is feather light... Now in a car I understand the whole "weight reduction bro" but a shifter should never feel light. If you are racing in the bottom gears 2,4,6, the shifter will not pop out that easy, but a small bump it will take you out of gear. Even with this having a metal stem, I am still not wanting to be a little rougher and shift into a gear faster. Other than the feel and ease of shifting it the shifter is nice quality. I wish the tightening joints (two button looking things on the left and right of the shifter) were a little stronger and the tightening joint on the bottom would tighten more because at the tightest setting it is 1/2" which well seems stupidly useless. The wheel. This is a really nice wheel, I have not used it hours and hours in a week but I have done at least 4 hour marathons with it and not a second felt any different. With my Fanatec it lost connection sometimes while mid race and I'd spin. With this wheel I've never lost connection. The 3 stem wheel is made of stainless steel and has 6 buttons on the face and two (paddle shifters) on the back. It also has a tach light like in rally cross... but it doesn't work... I think it works in F1 2014 but that is it. Everyone else reports the same thing, but to be fair who looks at the wheel mid race. I like the 6 buttons on the wheel because I can use them as look left and right (who has time to take hands off the wheel to look SHIFT BRO), horn and wipers, and brake balance. But these can be changed to what you want (game settings). The Driver(PC). This is by far the best part of the wheel, Logitech has made an amazing driver system. In this you can set the weight of the wheel (how much force needed to turn the wheel), force feedback (hit a wall and find out) which is funny because I launched a front wheel drive car and got torque steer! Never had that happen on any wheel for me. Pedal dead zones, buttons layout, use game settings, specific game drivers, profiles for different games (highly recommend using if you play more than one game), degrees of rotation (which is 900 or 1.5 turns from center). This is a really an amazing driver for the wheel and highly recommend using it to it's full potential. All in all this is an awesome wheel just wish that the shifter was stronger.
So far, so good (Review for Playstation 2 - PS2 compatibility)
December 6, 2014
After a month of checking prices for the G27, I finally pulled the gun on it when I saw it going for $200 on Thanksgiving night (and then $192 over the weekend; I was able to get a refund on the price difference). After a week of anticipation, I realized that although it is described as compatible with the PS2, I had no idea exactly how it would function with the old system.Did it have a PS2 controller port connection? How could I calibrate the steering and map the buttons? Could I use the stick shift? Would it work for the games that I was still playing? In my case, I lucked out with my purchase ... for the most part.First off, I found a list of games compatible with all Logitech wheels, and two of my games were on list (Gran Turismo 3 and V-Rally 3). So far, so good.Second, I found that only the paddle shifters are compatible with the PS2, and not the manual stick-shift. Booooo... but, that's okay for now. I plan to use the G27 for racing sims on the PC as well, which the stick shift is compatible with.Third, well .... , there just isn't a whole lot of info online about using the G27 with the PS2. I've searched quite a bit, and it seems that most people are using the G27 for PS3 and PC games. Which makes sense. What little info I did find made it appear that although the G27 was technically "compatible" with the PS2, it was also a severely compromised setup.Could this be true? Would I have to be forced to buy a decent PC to use the G27 to its fullest capabilities?Well, yes and no. Yes, you will need a PC to unlock all the goodies that the G27 has hidden within. But no, the G27 works perfectly fine with my PS2.From the reviews that I read, I feared that I would be dealing with whole mess of cables left and right. I feared that I would be dealing with obscure connections and cables. It turns out my fears were overblown. Logitech includes only basic instructions with the G27 because it's frankly fairly simple to setup. The AC power cable and peripheral cables (pedals and stick shift) all go into the steering wheel housing, and the steering housing has a single USB cable that connects to either a PS2, PS3, or PC. Did you know that the PS2 has two USB ports? I didn't before ... but now I know. And now, the moment of truth. I connected all of the cables, and I clamped the steering housing onto my makeshift racing stand (a short bookcase, which is needed to keep the pedals from sliding around. It's not a very comfortable setup, but it works in a pinch). I hooked the USB to my PS2, popped my V-Rally 3 disc in, and crossed my fingers. Was the G27 going to work for this game? Then I heard the telltale sign: the steering wheel starting to turn by itself. Bingo!Setting up the G27 on V-Rally 3 is a tad complex. First off, you need to actually select the wheel on the controller select menu. Next, you need to calibrate the wheel and pedals in the Driving menu. Finally, you need to map some of the keys to the steering wheel buttons. This last step basically consists of trial-and-error because (a) all 6 buttons on the steering wheel lack labels and look exactly the same, and (b) the key mapping meny lists the keys as R1, R2, Triangle, Square, etc. Which button corresponds to Triangle, and which button corresponds to R2? Your guess is as good as mine.I was eventually able to map the keys that I needed (mainly reverse, handbrake, and switch view) and remember which buttons on the steering wheel they corresponded with.As for the gameplay with the wheel: it's tough at first. I was crashing and oversteering left and right for the first 10 minutes. V-Rally 3's controls are twitchier than in other driving games, but this was ridiculous. Then I remembered that I hate driving in 3rd person mode, and switched to 1st person mode. Much better. I could at least complete a stage, and even set records on some sectors. That said, it's still a tough game to get a hang of using the G27. I'm still stuck using automatic transmission mode in this game, that's how tough it is. I will be revisiting it again.Next up was Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec. The legend itself, a game that came out over 13 years ago, yet still looks damn good in HD. I popped in the disc, and waited for the sign ... yes, there it is .... the steering wheel turning by itself. I just jumped straight into Arcade mode and didn't even bother calibrating the wheel. Would it work? I hopped into a Miata (in auto transmission mode; the scars from V-Rally 3 scared me from using manual mode) and waited at the starting line. As the light turned green, I grabbed the wheel and punched the throttle. As I made my way through the circuit, I finally realized how insulated I was from the racing experience before when I was using the controller to play this game. The G27 wheel actually fights me when I ride the curbs or oversteer into a spin. I could place my lines far more accurately, brake more precisely, and use the throttle more discriminately than I could ever hope with the PS2 controller. On Gran Turismo 3, I finally found what sim racing with a wheel is all about, and it is a complete breath of fresh air. Then I actually calibrated the wheel and found the experience to be even better. There was a bit a slackishness without the calibration, but now, the wheel was far more firm and provided a satisfying heft when I turned it.Unfortunately, I now had to deal with the button mapping. Just when you think you had the G27 buttons figured out, playing two different games will throw a sharp curveball at you here. It turns out that the button mapped to, say, Triangle in V-Rally 3 is completely different than the button for Triangle in Gran Turismo 3. Worst of all, you'll find that the paddle shifters don't work as intended in default mode. Using the right paddle, for example, switches the driving view. So ... you guessed it, more trial-and-error and intuition to figure out which button corresponds to the PS2 buttons. But wait, it gets even worse. I figured out which button to map to get "reverse", and it worked in the game for the first few minutes. But later on when I needed to reverse my car, I found the button no longer worked. Nor did any of the other buttons.I've also found on occasion that the paddle shifters stopped working a second or two before they started to work again. That said, now I'm just carping here. In some ways, the G27 is indeed a compromised setup on the PS2. You need some time to figure out how to map the wheel buttons, and sometimes the buttons don't even work after you've mapped them all out.But for just the steering wheel, braking, and throttle pedal experience, the G27 is as good as advertised. This is a great wheel, but it needs a great system that is 100% compatible with it to bring out its true potential.Other notes:- The default brake pedal spring is really stiff. I drive my actual real-life car using left-foot braking, but after a few hours LFB with the G27 (especially when I do rallies), my left shin muscles were left really sore from the workout. Gotta get my muscle endurance up, I guess.- I haven't even touched the stick shift yet. I intend to teach myself how to drive stick shift with the G27.
Great Startup Racing Wheel
October 9, 2014
This was my first racing steering wheel. One summer I got real into racing games and bought this wheel plus a stand.Racing Steering Wheel Stand for Logitech G27 & G25 Wheels, Deluxe, Original Wheel Stand Pro Stand. Wheel and Pedals Not included.. And in no way in this review am i saying i am a good enough driver to fully test the capabilities of this wheel. So right out of the box this thing looks prestine! You have buttons on the wheel which can be programmed for F1 racing. and a six speed shifter. One thing i found with this is that not many steering wheels come with pedals that include a clutch. You can't be a racing gamer and not use a clutch while driving.Pro:The combo of getting a wheel, shifter, and pedalsPlaystation CompatibilityMounting holes to screw onto a surface.Clamps for connecting it to a deskLeather wheelRPM/shift LEDsPaddle ShiftersClutch PedalDual Force Feedback MotorCon:Most of the wheel is made out of plastic which makes it feel like you could break it easily with some hard driving. So far it has held up these past years. Many cablesThis wheel has been on the market for many years and I am surprised Logitech hasn't put an upgraded version out. By far this controller is amazing for the price but I do believe there can be many improvements on the quality of materials used. This is a great entry level piece and you can never go wrong with Logitech their products and customer service and top notch. Even if something is made out of mostly plastic, that plastic is high quality. Now there are many mods that can be done to this product out there that improves your driving performance and experience but they do void your warranty because it requires you to open your device. I nor Logitech are not liable if you choose to do these mods to your racing wheel.
Awesome Driving Wheel...with a flaw.
October 7, 2014
This wheel has genuinely exceeded my expectations. Awesome built quality, I can tell this thing will take a beating over the years and there zero play in the wheel itself when you try to wiggle it; rock solid. The smell of the leather on the wheel literally exudes with the aroma of quality, love it. My first run with this wheel was with F1 2013 and had no luck getting the force feedback to work as I could not get the software from Logitech web site to open. After some days of frustration I finally called Logitech customer support and he quickly emailed me an updated game controller and it worked! They had been having problems with the previous version of the software on 64 bit windows. So...just a heads up, you will need to call Logitech at the date of this review to get the new version of the game controller in order to get force feedback in your games.UPDATE: 1 year later. The wheel has held up very well and remained solid, no play whatsoever in the steering mechanism after about 4 or 500 hours of use. BUT there is a serious flaw that has developed for me which I did some research on and discovered it to be a trend with the G27 in particular. The wheel is becoming off centered during use. I messed with re calibration settings again and again which worked temporarily yet the wheel would always inevitable stray from center during driving to the point I was holding the wheel 90 degrees to stay straight. Apparently the optical sensor on the force feedback motors becomes lose inside. There are you tube videos instructing a fix with epoxy but it involves taking the wheel almost completely apart.Logitech is sending me a new wheel. I have dropped my rating from 5 to 4 stars (and not 3) because Logitech is standing behind their product. I will post back with an update in another year to see if the problem has been potentially addressed in new makes of the wheel. If I were to start over I would look into another model for this reason however, as now I am without a wheel for at least a couple of weeks and I'm still waiting for my shipping label to arrive in my email from Logitech to send it back to them. Customer service is another review I'll have to update at a later time as I see how this unfolds.Having gone through that the force feedback lives up to its fancy gear technology. On my old Logitech Wingman wheel it always felt a bit like it was going to break while in use as well as having that gear whine when you whipped it around, the G27 is the real deal and makes you realize the others are toys. If like me you are contemplating whether 200 bucks for a wheel is worth it I can say that it is if you are into being connected with your driving games. One last tip I will mention is this: at first the wheel felt like it had a very small dead zone even when the game's settings where set to zero dead zone on the steering in put. I ended up going into the Controller Profile for the wheel's settings and set the SENSITIVITY from 50 to 100 percent which made a big difference and completely cleared up the wheel's dead spot. Playing F1 2013 with this wheel is truly an experience.
I love this wheel - expensive, but worth it.
August 16, 2013
I use this with my PS3 playing Gran Turismo 5, and dang do I love this wheel. The force feedback makes it so much more real (although it can be slightly jerky sometimes - I guess its tough to approximate the differential resistance that the tires would give). The quality of the build is fantastic, and everything works as its supposed to.I own a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and play GT5 to hone my driving skills at HOME instead of on the streets where my wife says it's too dangerous. meh. So I know how a real sportscar performs and handles, the wheel, the shifting, etc, and this force-feedback wheel with GT5 is the closest I've ever played a video game to reality. Even better than the setups at arcades honestly.I especially love the paddle-shifters - made of a really solid metal, its so awesome and responsive, and way better when playing manual transmission. The wheel also feels great to grip - just a little bit smaller than even a normal sports-wheel, but its still a good size.Installing the components on a table or desk is easy. There are a ton of wires, and they go everywhere - so it does make it quite difficult to move the stuff around (I really wish the components were wireless, that should be their next edition). But the tightening screws have a 'pop-out spring' mechanism where the tightening knob pops out a bit to give you more grip length, you tighten it hand tight, then when you push it back in, a spring tightens it just a sinch more to be sure its super snug and doesn't move.I recommend weighting whatever table or stand you attach this to. When you're driving at 100mph+, and you jerk the wheel, you will straight lift your table off the ground unless it's weighted. I put about 50lbs of weight-lifting weights on my table to keep it stable.Overall amazing device, calibrates easily with GT5, and is so much fun. Extremely good materials, great construction, great design, good electronic components. Expensive no doubt, but worth it imo.

Great product, customer support non existint
June 10, 2015
i have seen all the negative comments. At first i thought i was one if the casualties, when i would plug the wheel in it would flood the xbox with random inputs. I just kept trying and it synced up correctly and has been fine since. buy at your own risk. thrustmasters costomer support is the worst in the world. They dont even answer the phone. leave a email.....yeah right that was over a month ago. No response. It is a great wheel, very accurate, loads of fun. If it works.... PS, You need to download the firmware with a computer. The xbox can NOT do it....Good luck. I still have my fingers crossed.
Ok product, after sale support falls short.
June 2, 2015
Ok product, poor after sale support. During a move I lost the power cord. Have not had any success obtaining a replacement. The cord is a specialized design, unique to this product. I sent three requests using their web form, and received no reply. I called the number in the manual and waited in the queue for 28 minutes. Gave them my phone number and email, and was told they would reply within the hour with instructions about how to order the power cord, they never responded. While the product itself is okay, I can't recommend a product that is not supported after the sale.
Thrustmaster TX 458 Italia Edition
May 11, 2014
To start off, I must say the force feedback of this wheel base is great. I couldn't be more happy with this wheel base, and I dare say it's easily the best out there for console or PC without getting into serious simulation hardware that costs many times more. The only gripe I have about it is the slight "gear" feeling when turning the wheel, as it shouldn't be present with this belt driven system. The multiple settings for degrees of rotation help allot as some games require different settings for the game to play correctly. Such as Dirt 3 is best played with 540°, F1 2013 is best played with 270°, and Forza 5 is best with 900°.The pedals and wheel are decent but I'll explain the issues about this set as a whole below. The major issue I have with this wheel set, is the car it's modeled after. The Ferrari 458 Italia (one of my favorite road cars) is a grand tourer, and as such is meant for spirited long-distance driving. The wheel is very comfortable for that, but it's not a good shape for racing. When you take an ergonomic wheel like that, it gets out of hand when doing fast paced maneuvering that racing requires. The ergonomic shaped wheel soon becomes hard to manage and can cause you to loose your handling and spin out or under-steer. This wouldn't have happened with a round wheel where there is nothing to get in you'r hands way of having a proper grip.Another issue that this brings up, is only having two pedals and no clutch as the real car doesn't have a clutch. So, those who like race seriously will have to shell out more money for pedals with a clutch and have the included pedals go to waste, as well as the wheel rim because you will want the round shaped Ferrari Challenge wheel over the 458 Italia wheel.Overall, the wheel base is a 5 star, but the included wheel rim and pedals are not that good for serious racing, so I was left unhappy with this set and returned it. The day Thrustmaster sells this wheel base as a stand alone unit where I can purchase the wheel rim and pedals of my choice, I'll but it for sure. But I cant justify spending $400 just to throw the included pedals and wheel in the closet and have to buy better ones for an additional $250+.
Worked for a week and a half
March 27, 2014
well I got the wheel about a week and a half ago and it was working great... until... Three days ago the wheel stopped working and when i plug it in the wheel just keeps turning from end to end really really fast. it wont sync up. After not findaing ANYTHING about my problem on their website, I tried calling customer support only to find that even when it says its open it is not... and I was directed to the website on the phone.I figure I have a better chance of getting in contact with someone from Thrustmaster on here than anywhere else it seems. So Customer service guy from thrustmaster HELP ME PLEASE!
Wheel is a solid preformer, stock pedals suck a bit.

Update 9/2014My wheel is still working very well after many many hours of use on the Xbox One and PC, still have to reset the USB port on the XBOX One every once in a while when the wheel stops responding but this only happens after the XBOX One goes into sleep mode for the most part. I finally gave up on the stock pedals which are best described as functional but crap and purchased Thrustmaster's T3PA Wide Pedal Set. The T3PA pedals are not perfect but you will truly enjoy your driving experience so much more than using the stock pedals. If Thrustmaster would sell the T3PA pedals with this wheel I would give it 4 stars. Also make sure to update the firmware even for use with the Xbox and make sure you are using the latest driver for the PC.Update 1-21-14 Ok I have about 12 hours of use now on my new 2nd 458 Thrustmaster TX wheel, so I can give you a 1st impression consumer review. I have increased my star rating from 1 to 3 now that I have a working product. Originally my wheel died just as I went to leave the starting line on my first race in Forza 5, can't begin to tell you how sad that made me! Turns out the wheel was ok and I just needed to follow the correct steps to reset the USB port on the XBOX One...good grief!Pro's;The Ferrari 458 replica wheel is just plain cool looking! With 900 degrees of rotation, the wheel felt precise.Force Feedback - good and realistic (was too strong at %100, found 65% to 70% strength to be more desirable).Buttons fully supported in Xbox One's Forza 5Changeable steering wheelWheel is heavy, solid and clamp system on desk worked well.Mounting screw holes for both pedals and wheel work perfectly with my Playseat WRC racing seat.Spacing of brake and gas suited me well as I'm a left foot breaker and was very appreciative of the large brake pedal.Con's;Expensive!!Must own a PC to update the firmware. The rubber coated steering wheel stinks and your hands feel unclean after using, although it seems to be getting better with use.Pedals - cheap feeling and light!! Seriously did anybody at Thrustmaster try and play with these pedals sitting on the floor!!??? Even with your left foot trying to hold it down they slide around. (Note they DO have mounting holes though).Pedals - Gas pedal has developed a high pitch metallic squeak when using.Overall;I'm more than a little concerned in the reliability, time will tell at this point and I will update with anymore issues. My gut feeling is I'm not really getting a good value for my money but I just can't play Forza 5 on the Xbox One without a wheel so this is my only choice right now.Update 1-15-14 Amazon RMA'd my wheel instantly on Saturday night and new one shipped to me by late Wednesday afternoon, thank you Amazon you do a wonderful job!!!! Of note I did submit a tech support request but I had received my new wheel before I ever heard from Thrustmaster.1-11-14 I followed the instruction to the letter, installed the Thurstmaster wheel driver/software on PC and then hooked up my new wheel, everything tested fine. I performed the firmware update as instructed to the letter before using on XBox One. I verified the firmware was fully update v45 I tested all buttons, wheel and pedals and everything worked fine while connected to the PC. Followed instructions to the letter in attaching wheel to the XBox One, it worked fine in the Xbox home screen and in the menus of Forza 5. Started race, wheel worked, buttons worked but car would not move forward when stepping on the gas, then all the lights went out on the wheel and the XBox One Console popped up a message controller disconnected. Removed USB and Power connection for a few minutes and tried to fire the wheel back up but it appears to be dead now both with Xbox and PC, so very disappointing after spending such a great deal of money. Now I will get to see how Amazon and Thurstmaster go about helping me either getting a replacement or my money back.
I'm having fun! But not trouble free
January 2, 2014
Jan 17thI played with the wheel by ten days and I guess I can give an good opinion about it based on my experience. The wheel is built completely in plastic, it seems awful saying this way, but you can fell that the wheel gives a good feeling when you hold it, it fitted perfectly on my racing chair and the experience is truly awesome, the wheel has a good range for accelerating and braking, the force feedback works well (so well that I had to set FFB percentage to 85) and the wheel itself is very responsive. But I found some trouble. Sometimes I'm in full throttle, the engine makes the noise but the speed simply stagnates, eg. keeps 60mph, then I have to release my foot and then give full throttle again, then the speed raises. Wheel layout is another problem, because it's a replica of Ferrari 458 Italia real wheel, then the buttons are not well place, there are many useless buttons and they're uncomfortable to use when you browse the in-game menus, I'd rather to have a wheel projected for to work perfectly either racing or browsing in-game menus than to have a "Ferrari Official Product" and get this weakness. As this wheel is the only one available so far to play Forza 5, I think it's a good one, but if I had not bought this one yet I would wait for Mad Catz wheel for sure.Jan 6thSo, Thrustmaster took a while to answer my email (4 days), but after they answered it, they were quick to solve the problem, I had to run another program on my PC to force a new wheel recalibration. After this the wheel was working either on PC and on the Xbox. Now I'm changing my review rating to a neutral level and I'll play until I get used to the wheel and be able to talk about its quality. If you have the same problem I described below, just send them the email and be patient, because they're gonna answer with some delay.Jan 2ndSo, this wheel looks good, it has a good level of detailing, despite it body is all plastic. It is fixed great on a default cockpit and it seems to have a good pedal set. However, the wheel simply stopped working after I've updated according with Thrustmaster's recommendation. When I first connected the wheel to the PC it self-calibrated normally, but after the update it lose responsiveness to every command, except for the Xbox button when I try to connect to the console, every time I connect either to the PC or to the console, it just turn about 10 degrees to the right and stops completely. The software used to do that is really limited, doesn't allow me to reverse the firmware or run a diagnosis tool or something that goes further than installing the updated firmware. And on the support website you can find nothing useful, only the software and some foolish hints, I've been trying to be in touch with Thrustmaster's support but they simply didn't answer my e-mail. This situation is truly disappointing.

Logitech refuses to respond to years old persistent issue in own forum.
January 10, 2017
Common problem can arise permanently fixable by voiding warranty and spending more money. There is a cog with holes inside of the unit, that gets noticed by infrared or some sort of light, which converts into the amount of wheel turn recognized by your gaming device. It can get a hairline crack as did mine, and have to be fixed, which you should replace with a brass encoder it is called, and not cheap. Original encoder is plastic and lasted a month or two, but the brass encoder has lasted a ton of use. Logitech refuses to comment in their own commend thread about this issue after years and years in the thread, so be aware on new models that this may be an ongoing issue perhaps. I still recommend it, and recommend using a velcro mod on the shifter so that it doesnt feel or sound like plastic when you hit the stick into a gear. Huge improvement to look into on youtube. Also replacing the springs in the pedals with the entire nixim pedal mod springs, is phenomenal for 60 USD. Must do mods.
This wheel package is worth about $200 brand new max price .... Don't pay more
November 24, 2016
I race on Iracing. This wheel is mediocre at best. This wheel was NOT worth the $300 i paid for it 3 years ago, much less the $800 they are asking for it now. This wheel itself lasted pretty good, but the force feedback is choppy and switchy. I had to repair a loose part internal inside the shift lever after the first year. The pedals were worthless jubnk from day one. The pedals are almost worthless for short track racing. The Brake pedal works like a light switch, no matter how much adjustment you do in the profiler or in iracing. The Throttle pedal twitches and wont give you full throttle half the time. The pedals need CONSTANT re-calibrating, and simply are far below standards in quality.
Good wheel, but I had quite a few issues ...
April 5, 2016
Good wheel, but I had quite a few issues before I got it to work. The first wheel I received I had to return because the centering on the wheel kept changing due to the force feed back. This is a known issue with this wheel and I had the same problem on the second wheel. I had to go in and modify it myself which was a HUGE pain in the butt. You basically have to disassemble the wheel completely and add some hot glue to small part that can slip under the vibration of the force feedback. Why on earth Logitech hasn't sorted this out I will never know. Since I made that fix I haven't had any problems, but that isn't something I should have to do on a new product.
Mine would drift off center during game play.

Clearly it was not made of a suitable plastic. This is a widespread problem in units already fielded that the manufacturer may or may not have addressed by now in new units. Good luck!I purchased my Logitech G27 from Amazon but did not use it for over a year. I began using it regularly after getting a suitable game. I discovered that the wheel was losing its center during game play. For example at the start of a session the wheel was straight but by the end of ten minutes of play I had to hold the wheel almost 90 degrees right in order to go straight. After that happened, if you moved the wheel through its range of travel, all the way right and all the way left; the right side had no "cushion" before the hard stop and the left side had twice the normal "cushion". In order to recover, I had to unplug the wheel at the USB port and it was fine after it ran through its self test.I learned from various posts on the subject that the pulse encoder is a real weak spot on the G27. I tried Logitech support but they were not too helpful. They took forever to get back to me and seemed bent on blaming everything but the wheel itself. Courting disaster, I very carefully took mine apart and discovered that the slotted disk had a radial crack from the center to the edge. The crack traversed the web between two slots effectively adding one slot to the disk. Using a very pointy toothpick (or needle) I was able to dab just the itty-bittyest amount of super glue into the part of the crack that went through the web. The remainder of the crack I filled with nail polish. Then painted it all black with a fine-point sharpie. I also nail-polished the encoder to the servo shaft for good measure although it was not loose despite being completely cracked. Upon reassembly and testing it works perfectly. No more drift.
Gee, I'd like to play some Dirt Rally right now...
December 7, 2015
Gee, I'd like to play some Dirt Rally right now... but instead I'm left with a wheel that keeps getting farther and farther off center. It takes less than a lap and the wheel is centering completely to the left. Looks like I've found the root cause to be the "optical encoder". It somehow cracked. Since I'm fairly technical I'm just replacing it with a brass encoder and praying that works so I can play some Dirt Rally...UPDATE: Changing from 1 stars to 3 as I do not know how common this issue is. Plus, I did get it fixed. When it works, it is great for the money.
The unit itself is nice, it simply works
December 31, 2014
I am not big of racing games or wheels. The unit itself is nice, it simply works. However if you don't plan on having this thing setup 24/7 do not buy it.The pictures do not show any wires and it does not mention how many wires it has.You have to hook a wire from the pedals and gear shifter to the wheel and then from the wheel to the wall jack and to the USB.

Worked for a few minutes.
October 1, 2016
This wheel looks amazing! The feel and experience is amazing, but only if I could have actually gotten to try it. The wheel only lated a few minutes before it completely died. I didn't move anything but just stopped working in the middle of Forza Horizon 3. Tried reinstalling drivers, unpligging it and reconnecting to different USB, and restarting my PC, but unfortunately, nothing seems to work. People online seem to have many issues with this wheel so I recommend to stay away from this.
Worked GREAT for about 15 minutes.
March 10, 2016
I'm debating between one and two stars here but I'll give two for the moment, as I am currently awaiting receipt of a replacement for this product.I would describe this product most briefly like this: A cool idea that is a complete pain in the neck. The wheel needs a firmware update before you can use it so I did that first. The Thrustmaster web site has a download link and instructions for how to do it but between the web site layout and the fact that they clearly do not employ actual writers, the whole process is a lot harder than it needs to be.But I followed the instructions, downloaded and installed the update software to my PC, then plugged the wheel into my PC's USB port. After my PC went through the rather laborious process of getting and installing drivers, the update software could not recognize that the wheel was actually connected. It took me several tries in several different USB ports to finally get a response. Ultimately it worked. Maybe they make it difficult so that when it finally does work you're so exhilarated that you just LOVE the product. Then I plugged the wheel's USB cable into my Xbox One's side USB port. The Xbox did not know it was there. Great. Plug the wheel into the back USB port. Nothing. Other USB port. Nothing. I Googled the problem and began the process of finding out that this is not an uncommon problem. I went through all the variations of powering down and unplugging the wheel and the Xbox in all imaginable combinations. Still nothing. AARRGH. I plugged a USB flash drive into each of the Xbox's USB ports and it recognized the drive each time. So it wasn't the Xbox.Plugged the wheel back into my PC and went through the firmware update process again. Which is completely silly. It strikes me as the same thing as pushing the Walk button repeatedly like so many people do. What's even more silly is IT WORKED.Now suddenly I'm playing Forza for the first time on my new Xbox One. Yay!On my second try at playing Forza, a day later, I plugged the wheel in. Lights come on, the wheel spins one way and then the other, calibrating, I'm excited!... Then nothing. No response. Xbox doesn't recognize it. All lights go out except the Mode light. I unplug it and plug it back in. Same thing. I plug that USB flash drive in again and the Xbox sees it again, so again, it's not the Xbox.So I'm thinking, hm, re-updating the firmware worked once, let's try again. Plugging the wheel into my laptop, I got the same response: It calibrates, then goes dead. I update the already-updated firmware. That didn't help.So I Google this problem and once again learn that it's quite common for the Thrustmaster TX wheel. It appears that the problem is most likely the USB breakaway cable. Some people who had my problem fixed it by buying a new breakaway cable or using the one that came with their Xbox 360. Several others fixed the problem by CUTTING the breakaway adapter off of both USB cords (the one on the adapter and the one on the cord attached to the wheel) and attaching the wires directly.Forget that. I returned the wheel. I'm waiting on the replacement now, and will hopefully get it tomorrow. I'll report back on how it goes. If the replacement works I'll probably add a star. Either way, this is ridiculous. Especially for the price of this product.
Buyer beware!!
August 21, 2015
When the wheel first worked It was great but the force feedback started to get weaker and weaker. I first thought the wheel was just breaking in but it finally died and no longer calibrates and works. Amazon and The Factory depot told me that since I was past 30 days they could not help me. $300 dollars for less than 2 months of light use is not acceptable.
DIED at 3 months of ownership, not use.
February 28, 2015
The wheel is good when it works. At about 3 months of ownership the wheel decided to completely die on me while playing Forza 5. It won't calibrate on either the PC or Xbox One. It is still recognized on the PC and says that the device is working properly but nothing happens. The over temp fan sounds like it comes on once the wheel receives power. If you try to move the wheel manually it is very resistant and doesn't sound very good. After about 2 weeks of dealing with Thrustmaster Tech Support with their troubleshooting procedures I had to make a video of my issue. Once they saw my video they said they will ship me a new wheel base but since I am an American stationed in the UK right now that I have to mail it in myself with my own box/packaging/money so they can repair or replace it. This process will take 2-4 weeks to be complete so who knows how long I have to wait to get it back once I send it off this Monday. Extremely frustrated. On the other hand my T300RS is still kickin'.
Just a poor product with even worse support.
January 23, 2015
The was sloppy out of the box. Needed a firmware update and to be set with a PC. Worked ok but couldn't get the feel right. Found through a forum that they don't tell you there are additional settings in the paperwork that accompanies the wheel. Went to thrustmasters website again under support and found the sensitivity settings. Big difference. There is still a small dead space in the middle of the wheel. Just enough to be annoying. So after a little over a month of once or twice a week use the wheel has quite. I call their customer support as their website is VERY limited. Of course I get a girl who speaks terrible english, and tells me three wheels have the same name so I need to take the wheel off the stand it's bolted to and read the tag on the bottom. Seriously? Why wouldn't they just make one red, one green and one blue for example, or here's a thought. New name for each wheel!!!!!!! THen she want to go through trouble shooting. So I tell her well plug it in, then the light go out. The End. She said they would send me an email on what to do next. Still haven't received it. So in conclusion. I really like the wheel before I took it out of the box. All downhill after that.
Updated: July '16 - Warranty/repair problems
March 10, 2014
When it works, it is great. When it doesn't, it's horrible. I bought one new from the Microsoft Store. It died within 24 hours (seems to be a disturbingly common experience). I was going to exchange it when I saw one advertised "used in 'good' condition" from Amazon. When I received it, it was obviously new (twist ties not removed, pristine, like new except original box missing). It worked perfectly right out of the [generic] box and has been perfect for 72 hours of hard use. The features are great: the force feedback is very realistic and it has 'road feel' that has to be experienced to be believed. Bumps, braking, skidding and acceleration all are reflected in the wheel. It truly adds another dimension to Forza 5. Yes, it's pricey. Yes, if you're a serious gaming racer, it's worth it. I bought a wheel stand to enhance it further: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0061EER58/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item. UPDATED REVIEW; Recently I've had some bad experience with Thrustmaster. The proudly tout a 2-year warranty on their (European) website, but you have to go to the fine print to discover it's only ONE YEAR in the US and Canada. So when my wheel died on 7/16 I was disappointed to be told it was no longer under warranty. Fair enough, but publicize equally what your policy is, TM. Further, I would have to pre-pay shipping for repair - to Canada, pay all duties (which tend to be high) in advance, and pay a $60 non-refundable fee for them to look at it. It is obvious to me that THRUSTMASTER DOES NOT WANT NORTH AMERICA BUSINESS. I have changed my review to reflect this.

Good wheel but not free of issues
January 22, 2016
Pros: It was priced very wellIt looks and functions nicelyMakes any driving game much more immersion and enjoyable.Cons: within 3 weeks it suffered from a broken mounting clamp and had to be opened up to tighten the mount for the optical sensor; voiding the warranty. It was much easier for me to fix it than send it back to logitech and upon reading multiple stories from around the Web it seems that Logitech's customer service and warranty department is a pain to deal with anyway.
First crappy Logitech product I have ever bought
June 22, 2015
I bought this wheel 3 weeks ago when I started to get interested of playing simulation games. Project CARS was awesome at the first, and then I ended up buying PlaySeat, which was good thing to marry with this set. After 30 hours of playing over 3 weeks the wheel started to drift its center point to right. There are some fixes for this if you don't have warranty, but since mine was only 3 weeks old, I just decided to return it and the ThrustMaster T500RS, because Fanatec is even more expensive...The main issue, according to quick research, is that there is a optical wheel for the steering detection and that gets loose. Fix is to replace it, or glue more fixed, or get a brass one that is more rigid. In any case requires medium or higher skills with mechanical stuff. The wheel itself is gear driven so it is bit clunky at the middle, it is quite much fun, and the pedals feel better than just a spring loaded flap. Super easy to install and bolt on to desk or so on.I would recommend this for a beginner driver and for one whom wants to see if simracing is a thing for them. Anyone whom is already more serious about driving racing simulators should look for ThrustMaster or Fanatec.
Loses alignment in 2 weeks. No serial number
October 23, 2014
After 2 weeks of use wheel started to lose alignment. In those 2 weeks I only used it couple of hours every other night. After couple of turns in a game, keep the wheel centered and the car ingame will go left, first it will start slightly, as you progress in the game and make laps it will go worse and worse. i tried this with many other games and result is the same. I calibrated it in game, in profiler but no help. it loses alignment. Little bit of a research on internet showed that many people have the same problem with this wheel.worse thing is, i cant find any serial number on the papers for warranty. This warranty paper using some latin language which I do not understand, and on the paper all the details they are supposed to fill up are left plain blank. Model, serial number, factory number, fecha de entrega etc. That last one is the mexican that I could not translate to English.I am very disappointed. My wheel is not working properly. and I do not know how to make logitech honor their warranty without a serial number of the product!UPDATE: I am changing the review from 1 star to 2, because with another buyer's help i was able to find the serial number at the bottom of the main wheel base. However, I am still disappointed it lasted only 2 weeks without a problem -and that with light use- and has to go back for repairing.
Damaged in shipping?
August 27, 2014
Unfortunately this item came in a box within a box that was almost totally torn apart. I decided to try the Logitech Wheel and tested it for a few weeks. The wheel performed well when it worked but it would lose the settings of the racing simulator I was using and also the setting of the Logitech software. I had to reset the control settings several times per session. This wheel is very loud. I had it connected to a metal desk and it sounded very loud and could be heard a few rooms away. I think you would have better success if connected to a racing stand of some kind. I have no way of knowing if the wheel was damaged in shipping or defective. I returned the item to Amazon. This wheel has high ratings and gets the "bang for the buck" award by many reviewers so other experience could be better than mine.
Stick shift would not work
March 28, 2014
Set up was okay even though no CD or instructions were included for setting the controls. Called Logitech and after quite a while on the phone, they determined that the stick shift would not work. Pedals worked great, husband did not like the loose feeling of the wheel which was slow to react and cause overcompensation. Since stick did not work, he had to use "pedals" behind the wheels. For the price, not to have the entire system work, we are returning it. Not worth the money.
Quality control leaves a lot to be desired for
March 8, 2014
As of this time, I am on my second wheel, and in the process of getting this one warrantied as well since it is failing the same way as my first one. Here's the issue that I have with the wheel:Upon plugging it in to allow it to calibrate, it will attempt to spin the wheel all the way to the right. But when it does, you can watch it cut out multiple times. Now, it still completes calibration, but this is a big problem. During calibration on a windows based operating system, when this "cutting out" happens, you can hear chimes as if a USB device has been disconnected then reconnected for each time it stutters. My second problem, when playing with the force feedback power supply plugged in, the motor cuts out in the turns. It gives you the feeling/sensation that it is skipping a tooth on a belt driven force feedback wheel (common in arcade cabinets). Now, this is a gear driven wheel, so there is no belt, but I use that example to describe my feedback feel. The potentiometer is spot on, so whenever this issue happens (causing my wheel to "jump"), it often forces me into a spin. If you are an iRacer, this is bad, they penalize your account's "safety rating" whenever you meet the criteria that they deem fit to penalize (lose control, contact with the wall, contact with another car, run off track...).My last gripe about the wheel: being that it is gear driven, there is a small deadzone in the wheel (wheel at 0 degrees), I don't believe you can fight that due to how the wheel is designed. What is GOOD about the wheel: It is an absolutely awesome wheel when it is new, it is very responsive. You get paddles and also a stick shift, so you can choose your poison. There are also plenty of buttons compared to many wheels on the market. Some have quite a bit more, but they are nowhere near the price that you pay for this wheel (also consider what you get for the money vs others that often sell everything else separately). I have learned to race without force feedback, and have recently become faster without it (most drivers are, it just takes getting used to). But since it is a feature that I wanted in what I would have otherwise deemed a quality wheel, I shouldn't have to deal with the problems that I have exhibited with for 2 wheels in a row.Customer service is fairly decent. I have dealt with them via email since it is more convenient for me. Just be it known, that it can take 1 to 2 days to get a response. They have been really good to me considering the disappointing outcome (or my luck). If you do decide to buy it, I advise holding onto the original packaging... you never know if/when you'll need it.

I have about 10 hours with this wheel on Forza 6 for Xbox One. Approx. 7 hours in the D pad button "Engine Start Button" literally fell off the wheel. Needless to say I am pretty unhappy with the quality of the build for a 400 dollar controller. Contacted the 3rd party vendor who sold it through Amazon and of course they only have a 30 day warranty so now I have to try and deal with Thrustmaster directly which I'm sure will be to no avail. Any way if your looking for a quality built wheel you may want to look elsewhere. Apparently you still don't always get what you pay for.

I have been using thrustmaster products for about a year now, and after purchasing 5 items and spending $800, I have had 2 bases, the t3pa petals AND the 458 italia steering wheel itself have problems. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from thrustmaster.

Old review on bottom. Just recently I'm having major calibration issues that are slowly getting worse. I believe I originally gave this product a 4 star rating but if my issue is no resolved I could not recommended this product to anyone especially with what it costs. Hopefully thrustmaster is cooperativeSo far so good. I've heard the reliability problems with this wheel but so far I've had no problems(knock on wood). The wheel has really given me a deep forza 5 experience. The force feedback is amazing . My only complaint would be the pedals and I will be upgrading my pedals eventually but it doesn't ruin my experience at all. (The force feedback may be tough to get used to at first but once you get used to it you will want to play with it cranked all the way up ).edit. I just got my new base setup. hopefully I have better luck with the second base. I will continue to report as time goes on

August 26, 2014
i bought this wheel to only have it fail after about a month worth of use and when I tried to contact the company they took over a week to reply to my email. Even when it worked the software was not perfect. The wheel would not respond when ever id switch music and then go back to my game. Also sometimes when im online racing the wheel would not respond when the race would start. So frustrating, I would have to unplug it a re-plug it back in so it wold work but by that time im already half a lap behind! When the wheel would work it was great but these annoyances really diminish the enjoyment of the wheel. I wish I had bought the madcats at this point.

I hate you Logitech
January 11, 2017
I hate you Logitech. I bought a G27 late in the PS3 lifespan for GT6. Expensive purchase for this pizza guy. The mile long list of supported wheels on GT6 and the USB connection meant there was absolutely no reason to believe this wheel would not work for the upcoming PS4. Dudes on the internet have hacked the g27 wheel and it works, and you guys won't give us a proper software solution. the G29 is almost the same, and any differences i refuse to believe where anything other than to force my recently bought wheel into premature retirement, that's wrong.
I will never buy another thing from Logitech due to their customer relations and warranty policy denying of repairs.
March 22, 2016
I am updating my purchase review on this order due the the following facts. When I purchased this wheel it was stated to have a 3 year warranty on the ad when purchased. This was the ONLY reason I purchased the wheel since it was listed as being refurbished. The wheel obtained a know issue / defect on this particular wheel. Well documented in Logitech forum concerning the ability to remain calibrated in center position. The wheel was manufactured with a small gear problem causing the calibrating gear on one of the inner motors to spin on the motors shaft and become out of center calibration almost immediately during use. During the registration of this wheel, the Logitech site documentation specified that it had a 3 year warranty. So, I contacted Logitech to have it repaired per the contract warranty. Logitech used an excuse to disallow the warranty based on no facts or proof of their accusations. I repeatedly requested proof of their accusations to deny warranty on a product still showing it was covered under their warranty. Not a piece of evidence was ever presented by Logitech to prove their grounds to deny warranty repairs. Records still show the unit is still under warranty. Logitech has been the worst company I have ever tried to deal with for warranty repairs on their own product. I believe, with the information I have obtained in the Logitech forum that they knew exactly the issue with this product and was a defect. They refused not only my repair, but several others with the same exact problem that my device had. Logitech has backed out of an agreement based on the fact that they manufactured a defective product and would loose profits if they serviced the units that were being requested repairs. It is very similar to a recall on a vehicle, but Logitech used it's large corporation power to break warranty contracts with many many others. Logitech had every bit of knowledge concerning this defective product and lied to it's customers about repairs that were legitimately requested by customers. The unit is defective and proven defective and Logitech broke the contracts illegally. I will never buy another item from Logitech ever again due to this scam that they created to get out of warranty repairs posted directly on their website. If I could give less stars I would, they deserve nothing for what they did to me and many others.

January 16, 2016
This racing wheel has developed a nasty habit of shocking me whenever i touch a metal component. I'm not talking about a simple static shock, but rather a persistent, low voltage pain as the wheel uses me as a ground. This wheel has had extremely light usage, and so for something so drastic to fail is scary, to be frank. After doing a search online, I am not the only one with this issue, so please beware that this product has some serious issues with internals shorting out, causing you to become the ground.Honestly, I'm afraid to plug this thing in, and will never use it again, or even a replacement.
I got the common calibration issue. You might also.
July 15, 2015
That problem you hear about where the wheel stops calibrating properly, and it veers to the left or right in-game? Yea....that happened to be after less than a month of owning it, and with light careful use (I don't play racing games at all, just euro truck and omsi and other "soft" sims). Logitech's customer service is abysmal. Don't expect to get a response from them on anything for 3+ days. And make sure YOU respond within 2, or theyll mark your case as "solved" and be done with you. I have to return a product that I've had for around 3 weeks, and it will most likely take a month or more to get a new one finally sent to me. If they would just replace the tiny plastic sensor module with a metal one, it would solve 90% of customer's problems.
Junk, unfortunately.
April 20, 2015
I love it. Very smooth feel. It doesn't 'unload', like the Driving force gt. It's a great wheel. I bought it for my PS3 and PC, not knowing, if I ever upgrade to PS4, it's not compatible. Now it's be cheaper to upgrade my PC, if I want to play Project CARS.\After less than a year it has failed. No bug fix, nothing I download will fix it. Wheel pulls to one side and is off center. It is now junk. I'm hoping @logitech logitech.com, will come to my rescue. It's a lot of coin for a toy. Then it's junk
Great Wheel, but BUYERS BEWARE!
February 27, 2015
I purchased this controller really eager to play Racing simulators on my PC. The product looked like it was built with sturdy materials (The pedals felt great, the steering wheel was made of leather). The only real annoyance I had with it was the amount of cables it used because I had to set this up on a desk where I do all my other computing, but this is not an issue if you have a permanent racing setup (Racing seat, a mount for the steering wheel, etc). I previously owned a Logitech Driving Force GT, which was real noisy, but in comparison, the G27 manages to be relatively quiet. Why am I giving this product 1 star, you might ask? Well it's because within an 30 minutes of owning it, I noticed it was not in proper working order. After I had set-up everything, the wheel powered up and the FFB calibrated itself. However I noticed that wheel itself was off centered a bit, but I didn't think this would be bothersome, because I anxiously waited to get this wheel and wouldn't let something that trivial bother me. I decided to load up Assetto Corsa, and get some action with this wheel and that is where everything went wrong. As I progressed through the session, the FFB had caused the wheel to lose it's centering even further from what is was originally at (It was about 30-40 degrees off center to the right ). Well I went to the internet, and it turns out I was not the only one having this issue.Sources:http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-G-Controllers/G27-Centering/td-p/479712http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-G-Controllers/G27-wheel-wont-stay-in-allignment/td-p/406468/page/6https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/g27-off-centre-steering.229751/A quick internet searched revealed that many consumers were experiencing the same issues that I had. I was fortunate enough to catch this problem not even an hour after owning this wheel, but others were unfortunate enough to have this occurs months of own the wheel. In addition to the faulty G27, it turns out that this wheel's predecessor, the Logitech G25, had the same issue almost. It kid of shows how poor Logitech is with their products. There is a solution to fix this problem (a solution that will void any warranty) which is as simple as using some glue or purchasing a small replacement part, but for me I am not confident enough in my skills to try to fix it myself, so I just returned the wheel. If you're interested in buying this wheel go for it, because it seems like an excellent wheel and perhaps you will get lucky and won't receive one that is defective. I'm just trying to make sure people know that their is a minor risk to purchasing this.
