Very happy with this camera. I bought this to be able to remotely check in on my elderly grandmother when I'm not at home and it does that fantastically, so long as I'm using a cell phone (Still haven't figure out how to connect an off network computer to it, however since the cell phone app works fine this isnt a huge problem). My main issue *heads up software devs*, is that not all the features are available via computer unless you are using internet explorer. As a person younger than 50 :) I tend to use either chrome or firefox and when I tried to test the audio part of this camera it kept telling me I'd have to use IE if I wanted that feature. Not a deterrent especially for the price of this camera however since I imagine most people DON'T use IE anymore this might be something that is addressed in future releases. All in all very pleased, thinking about ordering another one for the front door to be able to see who's actually visiting since I'm to short for my peep hole. Would recommend this to anyone looking to pick up an inexpensive security/nanny cam.

This is a great little camera. Set up took about 5 minutes and the app is very easy to use. This is the one to get if you want a basic camera that's easy to set up, with good features and a good picture.UPDATE: One week later the camera stopped working. Apparently a hardware issue as it no longer turns on when plugged in (even though the green light shows). Sending it back tomorrow!!!

Camera installed easily to my home network -- both wired and wi-fi. If you want to view this device outside of your immediate network, you will have to port forward. Port forwarding sounds scary, but it's really not hard to do. The online manual that comes with the camera has all of the details for most of the popular routers. Follow the instructions and you are in business. Only caution is with the amount of data an IP camera will send to you. Generally not a problem on wi-fi, but if you are using your phone's data plan, it will eat up your allotment very quickly. I had to temporarily bump up my plan to a larger data package to avoid an overage. But now I understand the issue will will only use the cam remotely with a wi-fi connection. Free Android app (Tenvis Sight) works slick ... even found another 3rd party app that works just as well with the cam. I loaded that one on my Kindle Fire.

I am almost a week in testing this camera, three days inside after setting it up testing its ability and testing out software to use with it and then outside in a covered area for the past four days without a hitch. If you have a large network that includes more than one wireless router or network switches like my home network does be aware the software assigns it a fixed IP address which is good for working with the camera but can cause havoc once you try to go wireless for it if you did not setup the camera on the same IP address range. For example if your behind a second router that assigns the camera a IP address of 192.168.0.XXX and your main router which you intend to use it wireless with uses the range of 192.168.1.XXX the camera will never connect wireless. So make sure to plug it directly into the router with the wireless you intend to use comes from to get around this issue.The video quality is good for the price and only blurs when being panned around at a setting a Normal speed or faster so for a smooth video when panning use a slower speed. The light adjusting ability of this camera is outstanding, I can sit here and look outside a window and can barely see but the view from the camera makes it appear mid day and that's not even it using the night vision which works wonderful when you make sure to also account for the IR led maximum range. The Pan ability is almost funny that even though it is not stated as 360 deg, the camera can pan around far enough that it can see its own antenna from both directions so you can not hide from it in a circle but one tip I would give is that even though it states its 90 degrees Tilt it can really only go about 5 degrees down and 85 degrees up so if you intend to mount it over 5 feet in the air then mount it upside down like I did and invert the view in the software to correct for that and it will give you the ability to look all the way down including directly under the camera.

I've had some bad experiences with wireless IP cameras and this one was refreshing that it worked out of the box. I had no issues setting it up, but I am fairly technical...I knew how to change the sub-net to work on my network and what not. I've used it both wirelessly and wired, though I currently have it on my house with a wired network connection. I love that I can rotate it and move it from the web interface, even from my phone. I use software iSpy to monitor and record with it full time and it integrates well.Only downside is I wish it had a wider angle lens. This is more an issue with my use of it than the product itself, and I believe wide angle lenses can be found here on Amazon that will work. I use mine for home security rather than room monitoring.All in all, the price is right and I would buy again.

Bought a TENVIS JPT3815W for its good price. TENVIS made it tremendously easy to setup, I choose the "Wizard Mode" during setup, I am not exactly tech savvy but I was able to detect the cameraon my network instantly. I followed the setup instruction and successfully connect to WiFi wirelessly! This company offers access URL for users to view the camera image through internet, which is fabulus. The setup wizard has automatic way to set port forwarding, unfortunately that doesn't work for me. However, by following the instructions on zettaguard.com website (their distributor), I was able to setup the port forwarding.Images is great, Pan/Tilt control is very smooth. IR cut is not included, but I have no complains due to its price. The product can remember 6 preset positions for quick navigation, it works perfect. It has 2 way audit so I can hear what is happening in our living room through the camera. You can take picture snapshot, save videos on your hard drives -I explored most of features and I am so happy to own this camera. The only thing need to improve is its browser compatibility - it works with IE the best, but not so good with other browsers.

A little intimidating at first, but if you follow the instructions you'll be okay. This requires you to plug it into your wireless router with the included 3 foot long piece of LAN ethernet cable. Then load the CD that comes with it, and follow the instructions. Worked great with my Windows 7 64bit and a gmail account to send me motion notices. I don't like that you can't talk thru AND hear the camera at the same time, but for $40, you're not going to get crazy features. I can hear people talking to me through the camera, and they can hear me, through a small speaker on the cam.It does pan / tile 360 degrees, and the IR works well. This isn't super HD quality video, but will catch someone's face breaking into my house which is what I want it for / as a threat deterrent. One piece of feedback for the company - the QR code they put on the bottom of the unit for setup DOES NOT scan....it's a bad print, and you end up having to put the ID number in by hand manually....some 20+ letters and digits.

I received my camera in a very timely manner. The item was packaged well and in excellent condition. I plugged in the camera per the instructions and the camera went through its setup process. I was able to connect the camera to my LOCAL network with out any issues. I was also able to load the New Tenvis app on my Android smartphone and load the application required for a PC. As I said all is well LOCALLY (on my home network) but I am not able to get the camera to show remotely. I have performed all the required items in the instructions (which could be a little better) and I have gone online to the support page of Tenvis and read the forums, etc. I have attempted to port forward the port I am using (port 81) for the camera without success. It also shows me that the provided DDNS is ok but the link does not work. I am happy with the camera but really need to get the remote access working ASAP. I have sent an email to support and waiting to hear back from them. Thanks.

This is my first wireless camera so please bear that in mind regarding this review. This thing is great. Super easy to set up.1. Plug it in and let it boot up. That took about 1 minute.2. Connect the camera to your router using a network cable. 5 seconds3. Download the software to your phone (Android or iPhone.) The booklet and the unit have a QR code on it which I scanned with my phone. This helped me download the software to my phone. About 3 minutes4. Using the software, connect with the camera with wifi. About 2 minutes. You can now disconnect the camera from the routerOnce I finished step 4, I unplugged the camera and took it to another room. I only had to plug it in again. No other set up needed.The camera produces a very good quality picture. The infared is pretty darn good too. I'm impressed.I am able to move the camera left and right, up and down by swiping the image on my phone's screen. You can even zoom.I can also take a snapshot of the image. Images are automatically saved to a file. They can be forwarded via email, text, or Google+. Very user friendly.I did test the audio. Listening was ok at best. The sound coming out is decent. You can hook up speakers but I haven't so won't comment on that. I can say that I got my dog to sit and lie down by being in another room across the house and speaking to her through the camera.I gave it 4 stars because there is some noise when the camera turns. Like the sound of a motor humming. Nothing really bad but you can hear it if the room is quiet.I also gave it 4 stars because when you zoom you loose a lot of quality. Otherwise the picture is very good, not great.Glad I bought it and would recommend it.EDIT:This camera came with a $10 mail in rebate. It has been six months and I have not received the rebate. I have mailed the company once a month asking for an update and have received one reply to say that the rebate is on the way. This does not change my opinion of the product. It does make me hesitate to order from the same company again.ANOTHER EDIT:It's been over 1 year since I purchased this camera and I have still not received the promised $10 rebate. I have sent a polite email the company once a month requesting the refund and receive no replies.ANOTHER UPDATEIt's been about 18 months. No rebate mailed and no responses to my emails.

For the price, this camera is decent!I haven't had this camera long so I will update later. So far this is what I've found:Pros:-I had no problem setting it up and getting it to send still shots to my gmail email account.-It can be moved remotely, side to side, up and down to get different views.-It seems to be built solidly.Cons:-It doesn't seem to work with all email services.-At the 3rd (Normal) alarm setting, it seems to still be quite sensitive, sending emails with light changes and when the clouds move. At the 4th (Low) setting, it hardly pics up anything so I either end up with tons of email stills to go through or almost none at all.-The video/ picture quality isn't great but I didn't expect it to be at the price.-It's a good thing I bought this to record when wildlife come into our area (in the northern foothills of Colorado). By the time it senses something moving fast, like a car, and sends a still shot to email, the fast moving object has already passed. It should catch wildlife but I haven't seen any since I purchased this camera so only time will tell.-I've had to reboot the camera at least once a day since I got it or it stops working remotely.I haven't tried the night vision because I'm using this for an out-the-window view. I turned off the IR lights and the Power indicator LED so they don't reflect off the window. So far, this camera has captured some nice sunrises.

This is one of the alarm video record by this camera.Pros:1. Probably the best wireless IP Night Vision Camera you can find in this price range.2. It offers basically all the function you need from the Camera. snapshots, record video, position movable　(remote), alarm, alarm record, Night vision, Android and Apple remoteCons:1 only IE support several functions such as snapshots and record. NOT chrome and Firefox or others. Even fro IE,it only supports IE 9 or lower versions on my computer2 the alarm function is not very accurate. Fault alarm happens even when at lowest sensitivity

First off, yes, the camera is pretty buggy, I actually had to update the firmware just so I could utilize the WIFI option, otherwise it would not connect. No problem though. Beyond the small little things here and there, such as translations and having to update the firmware, it works great. I have it setup to upload to an ftp server, which drops three jpgs at the time of the "alert". The alert interval can be set from 5 seconds, to 600 seconds or something along the lines of that. So basically, if it catches the wind blow the trees one second, then there is further movement, you will not see it unless it continues more than 5 seconds. It says "video recording" under alerts, but I have yet to see this work. I think this is a function of IE users. I use Chrome on a Mac, and use an Android for mobile. You can also setup email notifications, but that will fill up your inbox quick. I setup an FTP on my Unix box, and have it dump into a folder there, which gets cleaned out every few days automatically. I'm not sure if the sensitivity setting even does anything. I have tried them all, and see little to no difference. On the new 1.8.25 update, it removed the option to change the viewable FPS from a web browser. If your upload is poor, this might hurt. I'm not sure if it will automatically "detect" what FPS to run under or not, I am assuming not. There is no secure viewing, such as https... only http... not really a problem since I don't have ports forwarded, and have uPnP disabled on the device. No access from the outside. For the money I paid for this thing, it does exactly what I need it to do, perfectly. I have it in my window, which does not play nice with the night vision... only other note. But yes, if you get a "good" one from the warehouse, you are good to go. Update your firmware to 1.7.25 or 1.8.25 and you will have minimal issues. I did notice by default that it was on 50hz... obviously this is a foreign device, and we are the only ones who utilize 60hz. I'm wondering if that is why so many people have had failing cameras, but I am not a power guru. Overall, a good product if you know what you are doing. I'm sure if you need help from the company, it won't go well, from what I have read. I have had this product since June, and still works...

I've had this camera for a few weeks, and so far, I like it. Honestly, it's okay... but not Great. I purchased the camera so that I could keep an eye on my pets at home while I'm away or at work. Setup was a breeze. I'm fairly technically minded, but everything was so straightforward, I really didn't need to be. I was able to download the Tenvis App on my phone, and everything seemed fine. Then, I noticed that after about 10 or 12 hours, the camera stops responding to my control commands when viewing remotely. It won't turn, pan, or anything. I visited the Tenvis website for technical support and learned that this has been a problem with this model for years! The technical support admins keep responding to the User complaints by saying that they are working to fix the problem... or telling them to update the firmware of the camera. But these posts are from 2013, and the camera still loses connectivity even with all the firmware updates. Obviously, there's a bigger problem that they aren't actually fixing. I learned that the only way to fix the problem is to unplug the camera when I get home, and plug it back in the next morning before I leave (essentially, resetting the system every day). This is a good fix for now, but if I ever have to leave for a few days, then I imagine I won't be able to control the camera after the first 12 hours.Lastly, the only way I can access the camera remotely is via the Tenvis New app. The Tenvis forum and the instruction book both say that you can set up "Port Forwarding" in order to access the camera via desktop computer remotely... but as far as I could see, they don't give any real instructions as to how to do it. I tried to lookup the instructions and watch YouTube tutorials from several other sources, and when I tried to apply what I learned, I nearly bricked my whole home network. Thankfully, I was able to reset the system to factory settings and re-install from scratch. I won't be trying "Port Forwarding" again any time soon, I can tell you that much.Anyway, like I said, I like this camera. It does what I want it to do (for 10 to 12 hours anyway) and was easy to setup. Would I buy it again? Probably not. I imagine that the higher-end brands are more expensive because they are a bit more "all-inclusive" than this one. But for the price I paid? It was definitely worth it.

SO! 3 stars.....because its adequate and for the price its at minimum 65% -70% satisfactory. Would be 4 or 5 stars if the image quality was better.1) Video Quality: Ish not bad for the price but now that see it, I know that I want HD. You can make out faces to about 15ft, but dont expect to see a licence plate if you use it outside. face recognition is variable and like that of an an old camera phone. The color is not true to life and is offset. My brown couches look pink purple ish ....but more $$ would probably get a better image. Night vision is black and white but is well lit by the IR LEDs2) Wifi - I've had only one connectivity loss but it picked itself back up. I check it around 8 times per day.3) Setup - Was easy, instructions are easy to follow, but change your user name, dont stick with admin.....maybe im just a genius but I had no problems getting it set up.4) Motor function - Mine is quite, nothing bothersome. The dogs can hear it as i notice their ears perk up. Movement works well with the phone and laptop tho sometimes it will pan all the way in one direction if I hold down the button/screen button, for both my Android and wife's Iphone.Android app needs the same options available on the laptop software in my opinion. The IPHONE interface is nicer than the android version.Has a great range of motion, up, down, left and right.5) Speaker - works ...sound is not HI DEF but you get what you pay for (2 stars). you can talk to the pets. Dont be in a noisy area and if you are far away you may not hear be able to make out whats being said....but then again we have a large room with high ceilings so echo and acoustics are not ideal. You need to buy a separate microphone, plugs in a standard head phone jack. I have not tried this yet but ...ehhl6) Mounting - cord is long enough for setting it on a mantel with an outlet near by .Dont complain if the power cord isnt long enough. any system you intend to mount in high or out of reach places will be a pain.Would I buy it again?.............No but I would get the HD version. This review will be updated in the future if issues arise.If you want to check on the house to activate an alarm this can and will do. but I would suggest an HD / higher resolution model because that ultimately be what you want after using it for a day.

I got this to replace the Foscam 18910W. First of all let me say I am an idiot with such technology and the first time I have tried to connect a camera to my system was with the Foscam. After many hours and attempts at customer support, I could not get the Foscam to connect to my wireless network. While plugged in to the hardwire, it worked fine, but after digging into the literature I was trying to change all kinds of settings with my router because Foscam was so picky about just about everything.So I took a chance and got this low cost Tenvis. I just needed a camera to watch the new puppy when I was in the other room working. So need real need for Hi Def or even be able to access remotely, but I did need to put the camera where there was no hard wire connection. I will say I had the Tenvis up and running in 5 minutes, literally. For an idiot like me it was totally simple. Connect it, download the phone app and viola puppy cam is on the air. Now, I will say the Color is a bit wonky and the clarity was not quite as good as the above Foscam, so I gave 4 stars, but hey what good is a better picture if you cannot see it on the wireless.So for a so so picture it gets 4 stars instead of 5 but for the money and its just a puppy cam, its great. IR works great and you can turn off the IR when you use the software for the computer. But you cannot turn off IR from the phone, again a minor detail but I did read a review you could not turn off the IR.If I get another camera, it will be a Tenvis because it does what you want, it works right out of the box.UPDATE 4-13-15After working flawlessly for several weeks, the camera has just stopped working. Called customer support at Tenvis and had to leave a voicemail which has yet to be returned. I uninstalled everything and started from scratch and the camera cannot be found on the network. Will post an update as to how this is resolved. One star taken off pending resolution from customer service.

Wifi: could not connect neither through the iPhone app nor through the iPad app. I finally got it to work through the software on the enclosed DVD. I was starting to get worried because you must have a cable from the router to the camera before you get wifi set up. Afterwards you can disconnect the cable and then it will be wireless.The pan and tilt are available through the iPhone app but not the iPad app. Unfortunately, it is not functional. There is no way to stop the travel and therefore it pans or tilts to the maximum or sometimes it will stop at random.You can check the reviews on the app where it received only 1.5 stars out of 5. The problem with the pan and tilt are well known.Picture quality: At highest resolution, it's not too bad. Everything is recognizable, but of course you can not expect too much at this price point.Voice: although the voice feature does function, there is NO DUPLEX. That means you have to touch one button to talk and another to listen. There is also about a 2-3 second delay in between speaking and the reception at the other end.I had hoped to use this a entry door camera and the lack of two way voice is disappointing.I guess I will keep it. I still will be able to use it to see who's at the door without having to resort to the peephole.

I bought this on the "today's deal" for the Tenvis JPT3815W around 9/20/2014. I've never had a wireless IP cam before so I have nothing much to compare with. I hope this might help some people with setup. I had much higher expectation for what it really is. The advantage is that I can remote control the camera and view it while I am away from home as a hall monitor. It is what it states as an IP cam. The disadvantage is that I've been unable to test the capture image with motion sensor and sensitivity or recording. So pretty much, this is a nice IP baby cam. I took a star off because of all the trouble that I had to get it to work which involved web searches and the disk that it provided didn't help with the setup. Another star because of the security motion sensor image capture feature doesn't work which down grade this to a IP baby cam.The hardware part is permanent which what to got is what you got. So it is what you paid for it's light weight plastic and it probably won't hold in outdoor conditions which the plastic might become brittle over time due to sun exposure and it's not waterproof. The video quality is average and pretty much look exactly like the picture shown in the product overview which is 640×480(VGA) with no optical zoom feature.The software part can change with update by the manufacturer so this part is only for the latest software that I have. The setup is more involved and can definitely be improved on. The CD that came with the package didn’t really provide much help or simply put it didn't work. I went on Google to find instruction on how to set it up which involved going to their website and download the IP camera wizard because the one on the CD didn’t work. After setting up on the PC with both the PC and camera connected to the router by wire to get the basic function to work but not the WiFi (Tenvis needs to fix). Then in the browser which was opened from the camera wizard, there’s the setup tab from the browser which WiFi was able to be connected and finally worked over WiFi. The other issue is that only internet explorer is supported by Tenvis so with some of the feature that they have it won't work which is a annoyance for me.I also downloaded the app “New Tevnis” for my android phone to setup login on my phone. There are several issues with the app. During setup, I cannot manually enter in the IP address and port or the app will crash. The only way for it to work is to scan the barcode on the back of the unit. Soon I realized that there are two passwords, one is for the app and the other for the camera. I made the mistake of changing the password for the app. The issue with that is when you change the password it had to send it to your email address for you to confirm the change of password but 7/10 times I didn't get a confirmation email and the one time that I did, I got a fail to update message. So I was lock out of the app which I contacted support via email. They eventually had to delete the camera from my previous login app and I had to setup a new account with a different email. The other major problem with the app is that it lacks the all the special features that are allowed on the explorer, i.e. patrol option, IR on/off, pre-settings, and etc.

In general I like the camera but it has a few issues I have not been able to resolve.One is color rendition. It is not consistent. I have a red barn but when I view it in the camera it appears bright green. My blue recycle bins appear pale red. At other times the colors are correct. There seem to be no settings to adjust or otherwise correct for improper color display on screen.The FLIP function does not always stay set. I have to mount camera upside down to use it from the ceiling of my front porch so rely on the FLIP to turn image right side up. Any change to any other setting seems to reset the flipped image so I see everything upside down again.When using the Android app there is no option to change this so unless I am home where I can use the web interface, I have no way to turn the image right side up if it "forgets" it setting. ( I have to turn the phone upside down and the PTZ arrows are backwards in this configuration )There is an alarm option but after many hundreds of false positive emails with images attached I realized that it will trigger an event if a gnat flies past at 20 feet! Makes the alarm function useless as it is always triggering even with nothing moving.Also the function for an audible alarm does not seem to work. I turn in on in the web interface but nothing happens.Bottom line, the price is good and it works pretty well with decent ( not HD ) resolution. If you don't mind strange colors and if you can use it right side up you will probably be happy with this camera.

I perviously had given this 5 stars because they (I have 9 set up) worked well for about the first 3 weeks, sent in my $15 rebate card for the 5 star review..I never received any rebate $$back. After a month of being connected the camera constantly lose connection to wifi or disapear from the app and the desktop program. Very disappointed in these cameras, cost me nothing but constant work to reconfigue them every month since Ive gotten them. No, its not my wifi or my router or any other signal disturbances. I have a high end wifi router with Dead spot terminators placed all over the house. I know exactly what Im doing as far as setting this simple camera up. They can literally be sitting on top of my wifi router and not find the signal it was once connected to even with an Ethernet cable. If you forget your camera password(not the account password) there is no way to retrieve it, you must completely reset that camera, blow away any settings you configured to it and start all over again. Make sure not to change your email password that you have connected to the camera app or desktop, you will never get back in to the cameras again. Dont waste your money. These stink.

Since my initial review the wireless feature has stopped working and I now can only run it with wired ethernet which really defeats the whole purpose of buying it in the first placeNo amount of reset, reboot or anything else will get the wireless feature working.The camera itself is pretty good, decent picture quality and of decent construction for the price I paid for it but the installation instructions are extremely poor having been translated apparently from Chinese into very poor English with almost unintelligible pronunciation and meanings.The camera is absolutely simple to configure with your IPhone or IPad (using apps that are easy to download) but I have given up trying to configure it on my laptop so that I can view it externally (although I have no problem on the same LAN). Pan and tilt are great features for the price.It is simply so much incomprehensible information that it has become extremely frustrating and not worth the effort (and I am reasonably tech savvy with an engineering background).Even their online help desk is of no use since you have the same people trying to ask questions by email and supply instructions that do not make any sense. Check out all the online reviews by searching Google and you can see that there are many other people having the same problems.On the plus side I can see the camera using both the IPhone and IPad from anywhere which is pretty good for a $40 camera system and I am at least happy about that. When we are away its simple to zap up the app and see the inside of our house to ensure us that all is OK.I’m returning mine and do not recommend it. Way too much hassle!

This camera works OK, especially considering its price. However, it does drop wifi pretty often, and it's not as easy to set up as some are saying. In fact, you should not believe any of the positive reviews on this object because TENVIS offers you $15 in exchange for your positive review. When you take delivery of the camera, there is a card offering a $15 "rebate" in exchange for a positive review. This $15 "rebate" lowers the price to around $32, which is an amazing price for a camera of this kind.Buy a camera that has reviews you can trust, not reviews that are probably bought and paid for by the manufacturer (not Amazon. I don't think Amazon even realizes that this is going on).

Total waste of money. It constantly reboots and never stays online for more than 20 minutes. The built in dynamic DNS (ability to map it to a domain name so you can connect to it remotely) doesn't work for more than a few minutes at a time even though I have a static IP address. The night vision on it is almost useless. Trying to control the camera pan/tilt function via Chrome or IE is pointless and VERY buggy.Keep in mind the manufacturer is bribing everyone who makes a purchase of this device with a $15 check if they leave a good response. That explains why people agree to like this device. It's cheap and worthless compared with others available. I'm sending mine back and Tenvis can keep their worthless bribe money. Not sure why Amazon allows this type of behavior.Having said that, if you still intend to buy this piece of cheap garbage, the setup is very easy and the wifi config doesn't work from the GUI but does work properly from the web browser as long as you set it up wired first. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Where to begin. This little camera does tilt and pan correctly. It can connect to a WiFi network. It can be used on an ethernet network. Unfortunately, that's about all it really has going for it. At a resolution of 640x480 the images are grainy and slightly blurry. The colors are completely wrong (a dark green shirt looks light blue...my normally rosy flesh tone looks like bluish paper). While the camera supposedly supports sound there is no support in the software for it making it a non-feature. Faces are recognizable as long as you already know the person. Picture cheap store security cameras from the 1980's...that's the quality you get with this. It doesn't stop with just poor picture quality though. The WiFi connectivity is a joke. With WPA2-Personal it can't connect. With WEP it can't connect. I had to downgrade all the way down to NO SECURITY to allow this camera to connect even though it says it works with secured networks. The software doesn't give any clues as to why the WiFi isn't working. It implies you've entered some of your WiFi settings incorrectly and tells you to do it again. The only reason I could figure out what was going wrong is that I troubleshoot computer hardware for a living and knew what to try. The night vision isn't bad but the graininess shows up a lot more. While you can watch the person in the dark room you probably can't tell what they're doing with their hands. I will say they did the internet accessibility features pretty well though. As soon as I could view the image on a local computer I could also view it on my cell phone and from a computer several states away. Unfortunately...with the poor quality...why bother? If you want a camera you can use to make sure your kids made it home or that your dog hasn't escaped out of the house this will set your mind at ease. If you want a camera that takes anywhere near decent quality pictures...this is NOT the camera you want.

To get right to the point, if you have a Securifi Almond WiFi router, don't expect the wireless function to work. Period. I tried everything. I went to forums, Tenvis' website, and nothing. I've never had an issue with my Securifi Almond before, and neither have any of the countless devices, myself, or others have connected it to, so I blame the Tenvis Camera.So, I'm using it with an Ethernet connected... reluctantly.Installation was easy. It comes with an installation CD, and the Tenvis user interface that's provided is comfortable. You can pan virtually in any direction, even swivel 360°.The panning option doesn't seem to function from an Android based Phone or Tablet. Best bet is to install Can Viewer Lite, or something similar.We come to the image capture mode. Strangely, the image that saves isn't always the image you see. For example, I hit the image capture button to get a shot of a truck passing by. When the image opened in a new tab, I saw my successful capture of the aforementioned truck. After saving, and downloading it, and viewing it... The image that saved was an empty road! I thought I was losing my mind, so after various attempts, and getting the same result, I've come to the conclusion that the image capture mode is useless. The capture image that is shown on your screen will not be the same image, if you save it.At least that's my experience with it.Bad luck? Maybe I have a lemon. But kudos to Tenvis for making a product that has obliterated my confidence in their brand.

I bought one of these along with two TenVIs JPT3815W in white. I took my time hooking these up. When I finally got around to connecting them it was pretty painless and they seemed to work decently althought the resolution probably wouldnt be admissable evidence due to how low it was. so it worked fine for about 9 months and then one died. the other one always had an on and off flicker every once in a while but I just dealt with it. then the 2nd one died within a month of the 1st one! wouldnt connect wirelessly or wired. So I went and purchased ones from Reolink that were a little over $100 each and they feel much better...heavier and made out of metal. Got the metal ones in and installed it and then my 3rd Tenvis out of the original 3 decided to take a dive as well. So all within a year of being hooked up all 3 Tenvis died on me. Cant recommend something if it doesnt even last a year.

I had bought 3 of these for a large detached building, Set up was not as bad as many say, I had no trouble getting them all connected and working, motion sensors and uploads worked great, picture quality was just so so, (a bit fuzzy) but as good as one can expect from the low res...and color was way way off on all three (in good light), night vision worked very well, i was actually quite impressed with the night vision quality...the bad, 2 of the three have just up and died after about 9 months of very light useage, i've done all the usual reset options and all they just simply dont start up, all 3 are in a temperature controlled building. the two that quit were working at night, then the next day they just wouldn't show up on the app. after checking them out its pretty obvious they have just not held up well at all...

My first one star review. It's hard to figure out where to start. Upon receiving the camera, which I was excited about, I set it up fairly quickly. It was pretty simple to set up to my wifi. The easy set up was the only easy and good thing about this camera. My first problem was trying to set up my email to receive alerts. After many failed attempts and searching the web I decided to contact Tenvis. They do responded to your email in decent time, however, there responses are worthless. There is not a lot of guidance or help. Any information they send you you can find on there website after a bit of searching. After trying to connect my email again after using their suggestions, I still received an error message, and my email still remained unconnected. So motion alerts were not going to happen for me. The second and biggest issue was that the app does not work. You get many network errors and that's with perfect connection to wifi or with LTE. But it will work while you are at home. And the panning does not work. You move it in a particular direction and it will go all the way around, there is no stopping it. So, I tried numerous other apps which also failed to connect. One app worked wonderfully, while at home. Once you leave home it would cut out and have major lag on wifi and LTE. Making the camera useless. Please save your time, frustrations, and money. And believe me I got frustrated trying everything to set it up. Do not buy this camera. I don't understand how people are giving it good reviews. Being that I am easily pleased, it takes A LOT for me to give a one star review. Good luck.

You're probably considering this product because it has a high rating... well don't be fooled. TENVIS gives a $15 rebate if you leave a 5 star review. That's great if the product, by chance, works for you. The problem is that those for who the product doesn't work have less incentive to write a review, so the rating is biased. So you should really knock off one or two stars when comparing this product against others. And you should not put much weight on reading the 5 star reviews either!A major flaw in this product is its incompatibility with many modern wi-fi systems. Not only does it not work with 802.11n, but it will also not work with any mode that includes 802.11n (e.g. "802.11g or 802.11n" mode). Just about everyone these days would have an 802.11n wifi because it's faster and has a much greater wifi range. But to use this TENVIS product you have to dumb down your wifi to 802.11g or lower. Even then you might have to spend hours trying different wifi security settings till you find a set that (hopefully) works! You just need to read the low rated reviews or online forums to find what I'm saying to be true.Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. Don't buy TENVIS.

Upon opening the box, the first thing I noticed was the bribe (yes, the unethical bribe of the distributor offering $15 for positive reviews). After placing the paperwork aside, I removed the camera from the packaging. One of the lenses was missing from one of the IR emitters. I figured I'd try to use it anyway.While connected via Ethernet, the camera worked just fine. However, attempting to connect to a 5Ghz WiFi network was impossible. I reconfigured the router I was using to test to accept 2.4Ghz connections, and while the camera claimed to connect, the router never saw it. Once I'd disconnect from the wired connection, it would not be visible on the network at all. While connected on the wired connection, and attempting to force the camera to connect, it would claim connection to the WiFi, without actually doing so.Additionally, I have an old camera with the same resolution that this claims to have, but is far better quality image. This product was a waste of my time, and if not for Amazon's excellent return policy, would have been a waste of my money as well.

By leaving less than a 5-star review, I'm costing myself $15. The manufacturer offers a $15 "rebate" (read: bribe) for 5-star reviews of this product.The camera is decent, and I'm happy with my purchase. I would give 4 stars, as it's not perfect (requires internet explorer to do video recording), but the practice of bribery to skew reviews that shoppers rely upon to make informed purchases is low.
