Five Star Reviews: | 29% Loving it!! December 8, 2016 I definitely recommend buying this! At the beginning, I did experience what some of the other reviewers were saying. Some parts were uneven and it kept breaking. However I stopped coating the dough ball with oil and I would only close for only one or two seconds and keep repeating until it gets flat. Before I would keep pressing, and I would get a sweaky noise and it would end up tearing. This is very useful if you know how to use it properly! I can finally make chapatis like look professional like in the resturaunt!! My mixer makes the dough & this fantastic tortilla maker presses the little patties into a perfect ... July 25, 2016 Every morning I make fresh flour tortillas. My mixer makes the dough & this fantastic tortilla maker presses the little patties into a perfect hot tortilla. Highly recommended. It works great. I let the tortilla maker get really hot & once I got use to the press (not pressing very hard). The Brentwood took over & 20 to 30 seconds my one tortilla was finished. Save money make your own April 30, 2016 Brentwood TS126 Stainless Steel Tortilla MakerWhen I bought this I was looking for a tortilla maker/ press that did not break the bank, but that would work well. It was a tough call with all the mixed reviews, but in our house this has worked out well.We use a basic recipe most of the time3 cups flour1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon baking powder⅓ cup vegetable oil1 cup warm waterAnd sometimes we use variants and add thing for the weeks wraps. I think this was a good purchase it has saved us a ton of money, and the homemade tastes so much better.Presses And Cooks,Non Stick CoatingCord StorageGreat gift ideaTS-126 Features: -Tortilla maker.-Non stick cooking surface.-Temperature control dial for heating level.-Power indicator light.-Easy to clean.-8" H x 9" W x 12" D, 4 lbs.I like to write reviews I wrote this review without a discount and I paid full price for this item!I like to purchase through amazon because I often find the best prices around. All my opinions are my own, please feel free to ask any questions you may have. This is a great appliance for pressing rotis November 3, 2015 This is a great appliance for pressing rotis. If you have the dough of the right consistency this little machine saves a lot of time in rolling the rotis. | 79% There are no reviews yet | 82% There are no reviews yet | 69% There are no reviews yet | 66% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 14% Come on time and not bad for under twenty five February 10, 2017 This is a real inexpensive tortilla maker, it is not a pita bread maker. Come on time and not bad for under twenty five. Time saver! September 29, 2016 I bought this to make Indian pani puri/puchka/golgappa. I can easily make around 45 puries in 20 to 25 minutes. For chapaties, I only use it to roll the chapaties. This is also a great Khakhra machine to me. Decent machine. August 4, 2016 The device works well enough for tortillas. It does not do as well as a hand-press and griddle, but is considerably more convenient. I do have some reservations about the construction of the handle, but so far it's been fine. Great for Gluten Free, but Directions Were Lacking and No Recipes. January 1, 2014 It came with some of the worst directions I have ever gotten with an appliance. Come to think about I think even worse then the directions that come with the build it yourself furniture :-) . Basically how to turn it on and how to care for it but not how to use it to make tortilla's. I googled for making tortilla's in an electric tortilla maker and found the website for The Tortilla Press Store. There I found EXCELLENT directions and a recipe for gluten-free tortilla's that turned out great. The first couple definitely were learning experiences but after that I got the hang of it quickly. I did find that mine seemed to turn out best when my batter was like cake batter or thick pancake batter. The recipe also called for 12 seconds per side and I found this made mine too hard. I reduced it to 5-7 seconds per side. As I made them, I made adjustments to my technique. I have tried a number of gluten free tortilla recipes over the past two years without a tortilla maker and they just never turn out as well as I would like them to- this electric maker hands down gave me a nice soft, tender and thin tortilla that everyone enjoyed. I no longer need to roll out sticky gf dough between parchment. No more tough break apart tortilla's. The major downfalls: Bad directions. No recipes Though the texture is great, they look more like crepes(no nice brown spots or bubbling) This makes small sized tortilla's(though we really don't need to eat jumbo sized tortilla's anyway) The major positives: Great texture saved me a ton of time. Happy Family very affordable no need for rolling very little mess compared to rolling and cooking on the stove top. I suspect that depending on which recipe and which flours you use, you will have to adjust to your liking. Hands down though I am very glad I took a chance on this little gadget. Now to see how long it will last- For the price if I get 2 years out of it I will be happy. | 12% There are no reviews yet | 10% There are no reviews yet | 17% There are no reviews yet | 20% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% its work perfectly fine but i was suppose to get a new Tortilla ... October 9, 2016 its work perfectly fine but i was suppose to get a new Tortilla maker but its seen to me someone used it before shifted to me.there is some scratch on it. Good for a sandwich press... March 16, 2014 I purchased this item to actually make tortillas and cook at the same time. I still, after 6 months have not figured out how to make one that doesn't cook only on the handle side of the press. I do like the easy clean up of the item though and have used it for a sandwich press with no problems... it is not perfect but good January 7, 2014 this machine is good only adjust heat according to dough otherwise it will stick on the machine surface and it works good only for small ball. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet | 7% There are no reviews yet | 9% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 14% Not so good December 15, 2016 It was very hard to use and I didn't get an edible tortilla out of 9 tries. I am regifting it and hope that the recipient has better luck than I did. Wasn't a good product for what i needed it for October 13, 2016 Wasn't a good product for what i needed it for. I make homemade flour tortillas and it doesn't quite stretch them out far enough causing them to be too thick and leaves the tortilla more dough-y when its cooked. Haven't tried with corn tortillas though. Don't think i can recommend this to a friend September 6, 2016 Is an ok item I use manual ones before, this particular one doesn't round the tortillas as it should, very slippery for the dough. Was so excited to received this but soon found that ... August 2, 2015 Was so excited to received this but soon found that my car seat warmer gets hotter than this device! So disappointed- flatted out the dough - tried multiple times... Never heated up enough to cook - ended up cooking the old fashion way on the stove in a skillet. Save your money - too expensive for a flattening device for your tortillas! Disappointed. I suspect this was a used one September 4, 2014 Disappointed. I suspect this was a used one, although still in good condition. It doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. Tortillas and sandwiches come out stiff and tough. Doesn't seem to matter which setting I use. | 1% There are no reviews yet | 3% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 33% does not get hot enough 325 degrees on high. ... May 9, 2016 does not get hot enough 325 degrees on high. hot plates are to close next to the hinge making tortillas paper thin at the back. Do not buy this for making corn or flour tortillas. The worst tortilla maker i have ever seen December 12, 2015 The worst tortilla maker i have ever seen. Dont waste your time and money on this. It took more than 5 minutes to prepare a tortilla. We cannot make roties or chapathi with this of any dough and water consistency. Rolling pin and frying pan works better. November 16, 2015 Hinge broke after a couple of months. Can not use it. It did not cook well enough or roll out thin enough. Save your money. Rolling pin and frying pan works better. does not get hot enough and it does not press ... September 4, 2015 does not get hot enough and it does not press very well. Have yet to make a decent tortillia with it and Ie used a wide ranges of different ingrediants from flour to masa harina Defective, did not heat August 31, 2015 The one I received did not heat, after waiting 10 minutes. Can't return it now because I waited too long to try it, due to a death in my family. I won't buy this brand again. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 1% There are no reviews yet | 3% There are no reviews yet | 1% There are no reviews yet |
