Sturdy and attractive. We bought a pad for it, and it's very comfortable.
Perfect!

It's perfect, just what I need. Well made and very easy to assemble.
Very, very nice rocker, especially for the price

Packaged very nicely, shipped very quickly, easy assembly without any extra tools except a #2 phillips screwdriver (you can get by without it). Rocks very nicely and no squeaks. I'm loving it.

This chair looks great! Assembly is easy and the instructions provided are very good. Doesn't look cheap at all. I love the look it gave to my room!
Very happy with this chair

I was surprisedby the quality of the wood and the appearance of the finished product. I needed a piece to complete a room in my new apartment, and this did the trick. It took about an hour to assemble, but it was worth the time. Very happy with this chair.
Love it

Quality Chair (if you don't destroy it while you're trying to assemble it)
August 15, 2015
Product gets five stars, love it, worth every penny. Assembly, on the other hand... Do yourself a favor, if you think you can handle this because you're a pro at assembling IKEA furniture (like me), make friends with a carpenter! Seriously. After I spent two hours full heartedly attempting to do a good job putting together this chair, I drove it an hour away to have my carpenter dad spend 10 minutes assembling it the right way (it would have taken him 5 if he didn't have to fix the damage I had done). May the force be with you if your dad is not a carpenter.
Great stuff but using a hand drill pays off.
March 30, 2014
Hello, I bought this item, the circular table and the love seat and put them all together in a bit more than an hour. The products are of excellent quality and I expect them to hold up for years. The only complaint I have is that the directions do not mention a hand drill. If you want to speed up assembly and do a better job of assembling the products, use a hand drill. I'm sure Amazon has several for sale that you could buy at the same time you're buying this outdoor furniture. Now, if winter would only end, I could go sit outside and enjoy my new chair, love seat and table. Alas, it won't.
Lakeland Mills makes a great product!
February 27, 2014
I rated Lakeland Mills 5 stars for two reasons: 1. All of their cedar log furniture I have purchased has been wonderful and comfortable and looks great on our deck. 2. When I received this rocking chair, I didn't realize until opening the box that one of the back rest slats had been broken in transit. Since it was past the 15 days allowed to make a claim against UPS, I thought I would call Lakeland Mills directly. I told them the situation, and they immediately mailed me a replacement part AT NO CHARGE! To me, this was customer service to the max. I would have given a 5 star rating for that alone! I highly recommend this furniture to anyone. Thank you so much Lakeland Mills!John
Excellent product!
January 14, 2014
Love Lakeland Mills! I bought their small table for my porch to see what the quality & how "hard" this stuff would be to put together. More than satisfied, I purchased this rocking chair as a gift for my mom.It was very easy to put together. I did pre-drill holes rather than fighting the screws, made life much easier. There are some hex head screws as well, so if your not building this at home (I was 150 mi away from my toolbox), you may want to grab the hardware package to be user you've got all the right tools. Off the top of my head I believe I did this with a deadblow hammer, DeWalt drill, 1/8" bit, Phillips head bit, and a ratchet with a 12mm socket. (Sizes may be wrong, My memory sucks sometimes)I'm 5'6", my mom is 5'2". We both felt the chair was a comfortable size - not too narrow, not too high or too low (she doesn't like the adirondack style chairs). The rocking motion was smooth the slats for the back & seat were pre-constructed, smooth & had a comfortable contour to them. The arm rests weren't sanded smooth but there was no worry of splinters. All in all, Mom is happy. I bought this to replace an uncomfortable looking little iron chair she uses in her back patio when she goes out to smoke, but she insisted on keeping the chair inside until it warms up so she could enjoy it while she reads.
Sturdy and Rustic
June 2, 2013
Very nice natural cedar finish. It is a very solid piece of furniture for the porch, patio, or cabin. I'm 6'2", the wife is 5'2" and they fit us perfectly. I got two and learned a little while putting the first one together so the second one took half the time. It helps if you have a drill to make holes to start the set screws needed to secure the joints, especially on the rockers. Just make the diameter of the hole a little smaller than the screw to ensure a tight fit. It would be nice if Lakeland Mills did that for you. A socket set made assembly easier/quicker too. High School wood shop finally paid off. Can't beat the price for sturdy American made furniture. We may get a couple more.
Beautiful design.
May 18, 2013
Simple, sturdy, and beautiful. The package came in with part of the cardboard box broken and taped over. Opened the box and found one part missing. It was the smallest piece, leg bracing, that was missing.I called the phone number that was listed on the instruction. It was around 5:30pm eastern time and someone answered. Asked for my name and mailing address. Told me they would mail it to me.That was Monday when I called them. I got it in the mail 5 days later.I sanded it down a little. Assembled the whole thing by myself on top of a work bench. Had 14 screws but could only use 12 of them. They may have shipped two extras.Bought some wood protector with pecan stain color. Rubbed it in.Set it under the Japanese maple. It should have been $300.

My daughter with her new baby loves it.
Nice rocking chair
September 4, 2016
Nice rocking chair. Perfect indeed for rocking or nursing your little one. Only downside was the chemical smell that permeated from it. So there is definitely some VOC issues with whatever varnish or finish they used. I called the company to find out what they used and if it was at least low in VOCs, but they could not find me the information. Needless to say, we kept it in garage and waited 2 months to be completely safe with the outgassing. Would rather be on safe side than keep it in nursery, with door closed at night and have baby breastfeed with face right among the gases. So if you plan on buying for baby, probably want to give time to outgas-- actually for anyone who is even sensitive to chemical smells too.

Nice. Bought 2 rockets, love seat and table for porch. Put many coats of tung oil on them. They look good. Rocker pieces are only pine. Company said the shape would be too expensive in cedar.
Cedar Rocker
December 13, 2014
The only problem I have is that the bottom rockers are regular wood so it needs to be protected from the rain. I don't know why it couldn't be made from cedar like the rest of the rocker or some type of wood that is not susceptible to water. I followed the instructions and it was easy to assemble. My wife loves the rocker.
Cedar Log Rocking Chair
September 1, 2014
This is an incredibly beautiful chair and we really love it. We bought it for dual purposes - for our nursery and also to take it out on the deck. The rocking motion is just right to be able to relax or rock baby to sleep. The chair is sturdy and very comfortable. Delivery was fast and everything came intact. The only reason for the 4 star is because the instructions were poorly described and it was bit of an annoyance to put this together. But beyond that, this chair is worth every penny and we love it.
MADE IN U.S.A. PRODUCT need a little bit of refinement
June 17, 2014
Came with all pieces in tact, and on time. Major reason that I bought this product was because, it has a made in U.S.A. stamp on it. Though, I was a little bit disappointed because when I finally saw it after it was put together, the wood cracks/splits were not wood puttied like the one's (made in China) I bought from one of our local Raley's store a year ago in my area. Also, the Cedar wooden logs itself were not sanded (as mentioned in the product description section of Amazon.com) for smoother feel, and certainly not lacquered or finished at all unlike the other one's previously mentioned. I believe that is why it is being priced competitively reasonable. Though I must say, in the olden days...made in U.S.A. products were sought after due to its quality and high standards. I remember as a young child, my parents will only buy made in China items, ONLY WHEN/IF we are running out of money and couldn't afford it at that time. Otherwise, made in U.S.A. or Europe is most sought after for its good brand name reputation. We need to bring back the good old saying, "proudly made in the U.S.A." by showing and reflecting it positively (no matter what the cost - called labor of love) on to the products sold and really made here in America.
Decent rocker
August 30, 2013
The rocker looks great; however, as a previous reviewer mentioned it is not a full length rocker. My wife likes the short motion but I like to rock a bit further back. Overall the cedar looks really nice on the porch, but I'll be searching around for a different one for myself due to the short rocking motion. If you end up purchasing here are a few things to keep in mind. First, have two people, a drill and a ratchet set (we unfortunately did not). It took us about an hour and a half to construct, but these items will shrink the assembly time in half. Second, the instructions are not concise so you'll need to read carefully. For example the product picture doesn't display the two braces you place on the front of the chair and the instructions don't really show how to insert them (luckily there was a picture on the box). Also, the dowel holes are cut at an angle on purpose so you have to play around with the alignment to get the pieces to fit together. Third, this is not a dummy proof IKEA piece of furniture with pre-drilled holes. You'll need to use your judgement on where to insert screws to secure the dowel joints (this probably won't make sense until you get the item in front of you). Overall four stars, good product value.
keep on rockin!
May 20, 2013
the product arrived within days. box intact. the only issues we had were several of the screw holes were not drilled out. if you own a drill you can fix it simple. it technically takes about 45 minutes for a smart person to put it together. instructions are not that great so you kinda gotta think it out. the wood has several cracks in the wood itself that are large cracks about 14 to 24 inches long. not a big deal makes it look more rustic. perfect chair for a short person I'm 5'6 and it rocks perfect for me. I would not recommend for a tall person as my fiance is 6'2 and says it's a little harder for him to rock. it says it is treated but we are personally going to put a extra pair of treatment on it so that it will last for years. all in all I'd say it's a very well made sturdy product. I am very pleased with it.

not deep enough to be comfortable
it looks like it hasn't been finished
October 25, 2016
This chair came and as we are putting it together we notice that one rocker is a completely different shade of walnut, it looks like it hasn't been finished, we can stain the wood and finish this piece but I am disappointed that this was missed in the factory. However, this all being said, I do like the chair and it will look beautiful in the spot picked out this chair.

The chair is really beautiful when it is put together
January 13, 2016
The chair is really beautiful when it is put together. However, it doesn't rock like a regular rocking chair. It has flatter rockers on the bottom that allow the chair to only rock about half a rock. It does sit comfortablly. Putting it together was a little complicating. Making sure you have the proper tools is essential.
Great price for a nice chair, but a nightmare to assemble.
July 27, 2015
After staining, the chair looks great. However, had I known how difficult it was to put together, I would have hired a professional, or just bought a more expensive chair at a local outfit. It took me two days to assemble and power tools were not strong enough to penetrate the dense wood. Lot of sweat and muscle required for assembly.
Not that good as a rocker but great as chair
April 10, 2015
Like the chairs but not the rocker and have taken off the rocking parts and use as a chair, The rockers screw on with little room for mistakes and not puch room from bottom of leg where rocker goes, On one leg when screwing the wood chipped thus I stopped there with the rockers. The rocker arms need to be wider giving more room to screw into the leg, Would not buy rocker again,
I don't like the way the rockers attach to the bottom so ...
March 14, 2015
Only get this chair if you have lots of time and patience to assemble it. I don't like the way the rockers attach to the bottom so I left them off. One piece arrived broken but the company was very quick to replace it. Over all it's a comfy chair.
Does not rock or have much lean back to it...
May 8, 2014
Was expecting this to be more of a rocker, or at least be able to lean back more....it doesn't. It's kind of awkward, so I'm glad I didn't buy two.It was actually quite difficult to put together, my husband did most of it and he used a power drill - The chair itself it very rustic, which we wanted, but it's definitely going to cause splinters if you do not seal it. That's how rustic it is.Looks visually nice, though...
Great rocking chair, missing parts :-(
November 25, 2011
This chair came with a shipment of several other furniture items from Lakeland Mills. The shipment of the rocking chair was missing the bag of hardware. As much as I wanted to rate this item a 5, I cannot because the service was so poor. I called the support people, they don't answer the phone at night and don't seem to have an e-mail address. So, I had to call back next day. They said they sent the bag of missing parts to me that day, but, I don't think so. It took an entire week for the bag of missing parts to arrive. Longer than it took to ship the chair!!! I'm rating this product a 3 simply because the chair is great, but, the service was so-so.

Doesn't rock smoothly and wood is too rough.
January 9, 2015
In person, the wood is too raw and rough. Also, it does not rock smoothly at all. We never sit in it, sadly.
structurally unsound, hard to assemble
December 14, 2013
The rockers are held in place by screws, which is structurally unsound. You must be very careful not to drill the holes too tight in the chair for the runners because it's really easy to split cedar (in fact, the logs are riddled with natural splits already). One of my screws did in fact start to split the log all the way to the bottom of a chair leg log, so I drilled it out wider and used a lot of glue to try to seal and secure the tenuous connection to the runners. It's inexcusable to design rockers this way. Other rocking chairs (including log rocking chairs) feature notched or fully dovetailed connections from the chair to the runners. (In fact, on Amazon you can get log rockers with notched or dovetailed legs for less money!) That is the only reasonable way to create a rocker.Only a few of the holes were pre-drilled; I had to drill most of them myself. Because the runner (rocker) connections to the chair were not pre-drilled, I had to make sure that the runners were parallel. That's unacceptable. The reason for buying a kit is to have someone else figure these things out and assure precision by pre-drilling using jigs. The instructions did not state where 2 of the screws should go. (The only reason I knew where to place them was because I have similar log furniture that did have all holes pre-drilled, so I copied what I did on those log chairs. Others not having such an advantage might not have been able to figure this out.)I used a lot of Elmer's white glue (general purpose, not wood glue) and would highly recommend this (for just about any furniture you assemble). Because the glue sets up slowly, you have plenty of time to adjust and place screws; and it's easy to clean up any glue that seeps out. This will result in a much sturdier and longer lasting finished product.I also used a lot of white colored wood filler to fill in all the cracks to protect against moisture, dirt, and bugs. Then, a lot of sanding with a coarse sanding sponge; because the wood was very rough and blemished (beyond just being rustic!). I then used polyurethane spray coats to seal and protect the wood.On the plus side, the back is curved (contoured), which is nice. And, the chair does in fact look good; but structural soundness should come first. You could notch the chair to fit the runners; but that would be more work that you really shouldn't have to do. However if the runners give me problems in the future, I might notch them to mitigate. Conclusion: I can't recommend this product and instead advise shopping carefully for rocking chairs that notch or dovetail the chair to the runners as a minimum level of acceptable quality. Hopefully the manufacturer will make this minor adjustment in the future.

Nice chair but not all there
March 16, 2017
Nice chair but not all thereWhen this rocking chair arrived the hardware was missing. I examined the chair parts and not only determined they were all present but I found that they were well made and good looking. When I informed Amazon of the missing hardware, I was told to repackage the chair and return it to Amazon for a refund. I didn’t want to return the chair I really liked, so I asked for just the hardware to be sent. However, I couldn’t figure out how to talk to a human at Amazon so I was stuck with the option of schlepping the 40 lb. package (I am 82 years old) to the post office. Instead I went out and purchased the hardware for $27.08. It was easy to put together and I am enjoying rocking in it.I don’t know if missing parts is a one in a million occurrence or if it happens pretty much all the time. Take a chance if you want to.

Very disappointed!
March 4, 2017
The rockers aren't the nice aged grey color in the image. Instead, they resemble the 2x4s at your hardware store in color. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I spent so much time researching and now they're here and remind me of lumber. Don't be fooled by the image. Because the return process is such a hassle and they're sitting in the back of my home, I'm not returning them. I'm hoping they're at least comfortable, but I sure wouldn't recommend them.Assembly isn't that tough, but they should have more pilot holes. Make sure you have a power drill and lots of sandpaper. There are many angles and splinters that need to be smoothed out, otherwise, you'll be sorry.
This chair is not as comfortable as all the reviews say
April 23, 2016
This chair is not as comfortable as all the reviews say. The seat is not deep enough to sit in for long periods of time. From the back to the front of the seat the measurement is only 17 inches...so how a 6'4" man sits comfortably in this chair (as one reviewer claimed) is a mystery to me. The arm rests are really high and short. If it weren't such a hassle to take apart and send back we would (and still might). I bought this chair based on the good reviews...and I feel like the reviewers were not being honest. Maybe paid reviewers? I don't know...just really disappointed.
Hate this product
July 4, 2015
We bought this product and we were looking for something already set up. In the description of this product, we did not find any notice that we would have to assemble this. Turns out we had to assemble it ourselves. So we tried to assemble it multiple times and when we finally thought we got it, and it collapsed. The instructions are also very confusing. Bottom line, I would not recommend this product. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.
