| Nice piano bench for theAugust 26, 2017 I wasn’t looking for a cheap but solid piano bench and this fit the bill perfectly. Arrived in great condition and assembled easily (way easier than most furniture; just attach the legs) storage space is a nice feature and it is moderately comfortable; what you’d expect for the price. The bottom of the storage is a little thin bud should hold up to a lite load of sheet music and books. I am a smaller guy (165lbs) and feel it would be pretty narrow for two people to do a duet but it’s great for solo. Although it came smelling of chemicals so I sprayed it with vinegar mixed with soap & water. & it smells normal. After you spray with vinegar you can use a regular spray & or an air freshener. | Perfect, sturdy design, but needs more cushioningAugust 22, 2017 I wish there was more padding in the seat, which is the only reason it didn't get 5 out of 5 stars. I can totally feel the buttons. Although, placing a couple of folded blankets on top gave it enough cushion to sit on for longer periods of time. The top material is some type of soft vinyl that protects it when something is spilled on it. It came with its own wrench, albeit a really silly little one, but I keep it in the bench to tighten up the nuts about twice now, every 6 months. Very sturdy as well. Can hold at least 250 pounds (113 kg), I bet it would hold up to 300 lbs (136 kg) even. The wood legs are still shiny black with no dings or scuffs after daily usage. Is amazing to use as a piece of bedroom furniture, near the closet or at the foot of the bed; very versatile. Lid lifts up and down smoothly, it stays up in the vertical position. The storage space can hold a lot of books.9/10 would buy again, unless there is a huge discount on a better cushioned bench with the same design. I've had mine for 2 years and I've lost one button. I wouldn't buy an upholstered one again if it's at the lowest price point like this one. However, this bench doesn't strike me as being heavy-duty or resistant to the least abuse. I have another bench I bought for my upstairs piano that is not so fancy, doesn't have storage, doesn't seat two comfortably, but strikes me as being more sturdy. It's the On Stage KT 800 Keyboard Bench. I would give the On Stage one five stars because I like it's stability and durability. For example, I would stand on the On Stage bench; I would not stand on this one. After having used the TMS bench for a month now, I take away a star or two for comfort and durability. The piano sound is not authentic. It sounds LIKE a piano, but it doesn't have the same crisp piano sound that a Clavinova or a Yamaha, or another type of keyboard would have, but you would have to pay >$1000 for. I play advanced piano pieces, (i.e. Chopin, Rachmaninov, etc) so I am a bit of a connoisseur, and the piano sound is very muffled and sounds like it is in a box. I bought this to replace a Yamaha keyboard I have that is on the fritz, but this keyboard's piano sound is very inferior to the Yamaha's sound. That being said, I have a household of children who are beginner pianists and they will benefit greatly from this. The keys of this keyboard are bigger than that of the yamaha, closer to the size of real piano keys. The weighted action is good, but the keys are soft to play and don't have the same action as a real piano, but for beginners it feels closer to a real piano. It will come in useful for my family. It handles OK for advanced pieces. It does play chords, but the bigger and faster the chords are played (Like the booming chords of Rachmaninov's G minor Prelude), the choppier it will sound. It can handle fast passages of music and can have good dynamics. The pedal action is good. In conclusion, I don't think it is a bad keyboard, it is well designed and does what it is designed to do. It's good for beginners. But if you want crisp clear piano sound and action, be prepared to spend the money it takes to get a Yamaha, Kawai, Clavinova, etc. The kids like to play it and like to use the other sounds. | | | |

We came across this piano online and because we didn't feel ready to invest serious money into it yet we thought this would make a great stepping point. The cabinet looks good in the living room and we thought we had a winner. Within an hr we were both frustrated with the sound and key action, it sounds very muddy when playing at a decent pace, and there is an annoying delay from the time a note is played to when it sounds. We returned it an got the overture 2 from williams hoping the next model up would be better... it isnt. It's going back tomorrow. I highly recommend another piano if you have any serious intention of playing, or finding this one as dirt cheap as you can because they have no value after the return period as a result of the reputation williams piano (guitar center house brand) has earned. Yamaha, Casio, and kawai all have 3 year warranty, this one has 1 year.... for us it's not worth the risk and cost of buying a quality piano AFTER throwing money away on this one. | | | |
