These little maracas are adorable! They keep our baby happy and interested for lengthy periods at a time.We are thrilled as she learned to reach out for them and grasp them. She has since master it. These are certainly the favorite toy for our 4 month old.
WONDERFUL First Toy for Baby
March 16, 2017
For something so simple, this was and is my baby's favorite toy! I gave it to him when he was only 3 months old, and four months later he still loves it. The soft side is great for an easily excitable baby so he doesn't hurt himself. Now that he's older, he loves using the hard side to make noise banging it against things (his baby carrier, his high chair, etc.). It is a wonderful first toy!
We love it
June 10, 2016
These have been a huge hit in our house and the baby loves them! The only thing is the hard plastic end might be dangerous for some babies with less control over their hands as we've all been hit by them as the baby is waving them around. The soft end is really nice and always ends up in the baby's mouth. So easy for the baby to hold and move around. The rattle sound isn't obnoxious or loud. Very easy to throw in the diaper bag and easy to clean. I wouldn't take this to any place people would be annoyed, however, because the baby does like to hit the hard end on surfaces and that creates quite a bit of noise.
I would purchase again!
October 22, 2015
My girls adore their little rattle lol. It's baby proofed with a soft end to prevent injury. And the other end has bals inside to make sounds like a maraca!
Loved by my 3 month old
March 28, 2014
My baby just started to show an interest in these at 3 months. (Didn't do much for him before that.) He loves grabbing, grasping and shaking them. I love how one end is soft. When he accidentally bonks his face he doesn't hurt himself. He loves the colors/design and the noises he can make with them. The toy is an overall great distraction when he gets fussy. I am very happy that I purchased these.

my daughter loved this rattle perfect size for her to be able to hold.
Great rattle!
March 3, 2017
It was a gift and seemed to really interest our 5 mo old grandson. Colors are nice & bright and it makes "just enough" noise for a little one.

February 3, 2015
Perfectly addresses the developmental needs of my newborn. The contrasting colors address the needs of her developing eyesight and the rattle isn't overly loud. During her awake and alert state this rattle is perfect for having her locate sound when rattled on either side of her head and also to focus her eyes.
Developmentally Appropriate Rattle for Infants
March 9, 2014
I researched lots of rattles. We received lots of rattles for gifts. My baby had no interest in any of them. Enter the Spin and Shine. She couldn’t be parted with it from about 3 to 5 months of age. Now, at 7 months, this is still one of her go-to toys to play with in the car. The tiny center bar is a good size for an infant’s grip, and it’s textured — making this rattle experience even more tactile and appealing. The bright, high-contrast colors and patterns on the rattle keep baby visually stimulated. The “spin shine” refers to the clear ball, which contains a rotating (spinning) apparatus with a mirror (shine) and two high contrast patterns. The more baby shakes the rattle, the more this end spins and shines. This serves as a completely fascinating first foray into cause and effect for the little ones. This rattle can be purchased alone or as part of a newborn set of high contrast toys and teethers for the very youngest.

Not good for 4 months old baby.
November 1, 2016
I bought these for my 4 month old dayghter and thet were a but diferent than I expected. So I thought I would give you my experience if you are looking to buy this for a baby same age.1- The noise they make isn't like rice in a closed container. it is more like a plastic sounds. Nothings like a real instrument.2- The top side where the designed fabric is, is very soft and squeaky the other side is a hard plastic so be careful. My daughter kept hitting her face with that.Otherwise it is a simple and nice toy but I guess not that best for a 4 months old baby.
Great for little ones, but not enough noise for older infants
August 17, 2016
Very soft and easy for an infant, but a little less maraca than I was hoping for. We have been using maracas during our lap time classes and I wanted to get some for my 7 mo. I thought these would be perfect but the bearings that make the noise are quite large and only have 3 in each. It does make noise, but it's not enough for my little one. I would recommend these for younger infants, but once your child starts being about to understand the shaking means noise, they may not be the best.
Good fun toy for your baby or infant
July 9, 2016
We bought these for our infant son because he loves music. They are well and the soft fabric ball on the end opposite of the maracas was a nice added touch. However the maracas don't work quite as well as I expected. They don't make the sound that I was hoping for. Regardless, our son loved shaking them and making noise. He's 15 months old now so he rarely plays with them anymore but they were great when he was younger.
Cute baby rattle
May 26, 2016
This a set of two baby rattles that look like maracas. Each one has a rattle on one end, which is filled with balls, its see through. The other end is a soft and chewable cozy pillow like teether. I was able to wash them and let them air dry. I did not get the rattle side of they toy wet. These rattles are a great toy for little ones that don't have the best control of their arms just yet. These were a much better option for my daughter than the traditional hard plastic rattles because she would sometimes hit her head when shaking them. I worry less now that she has a cushion when they do hit. I dropped the rating by 1 star because the rattles don't 'rattle' as well as traditional ones because there are only 3 balls that are too big to move much. Overall satisfied with the purchase.
Cute maracas
May 26, 2015
My babies enjoy playing with these maracas. The yellow and green colors are bright and I like the design on them. I like that there is a soft end for them to keep by their faces, so they don't accidentally bang themselves. The also like to bite that end when their teeth are bothering them. I actually wish that the rattle part was a little bit louder though. I never thought I would hear myself say that, but it is hard to hear unless you shake it really hard. The babies do not have the strength for that yet.

August 7, 2014
Baby likes these. The beans in the plastic end make a bit of noise but not too much...just right in my opinion. Baby also likes to grab, squish, nibble and slobber on the fabric end. We washed them in the dishwasher with no issues!

Great Toy For Baby.
April 11, 2017
Baby loves this toy. She responds to the black and white contrast. Though the picture shown is not the same a the one we purchased? It has a good texture and a good sound on rattling. My only complaint is that water can get into it as was discovered upon trying to clean it.

I Busted Mr. Bug's Wings... A Warning
November 5, 2014
Adorable! Warning though, do NOT put this in a bottle sanitizer! ha! I didn't even consider the water-filled wings might boil... welp, they do. And so Mr. Bug now has a busted wing. Oh well... I love sassy and I'll forgive them this time. If you buy the Sassy inspire Bounce Around, it comes with a Flutterby teether attached (the one that came with ours was even cuter with purple wings) I bought another of this kind too to replace my grave mistake, and it freezes nice and is very easy for baby to hold. She loves his happy face and the multiple textures. He's a bit heavy for a little one to handle, but probably perfect for a teething 6 month old.
Good for the price
July 1, 2014
I bought this toy because I love to find new toys to keep my baby happy while he teethes. I haven't tried putting it in the fridge yet, but he isn't as interested in this toys as some of the others I have purchased. I also find that the antennas on the butterfly are pretty hard and not very fun to chew on (I didn't experiment, it was my baby who chewed on it!)Overall, it is an okay toy for the price. It's small and way to bring along. It's also easy for a baby to hold because of the ring on the bottom. It's also easy to attach to strollers or other gear with some rings since it has a loop.
works well when not frozen
June 24, 2014
This teether is adorable and my son enjoys all the different textures it has but he does not like when I put it in the freezer to chill the two wings on top that have water in them. The other plastic and rubber materials get too cold for him to enjoy chewing on it when its cooled but overall it still serves its teething duties well
Nice Basic Rattle, Good Price
April 8, 2011
We started using this when our son was just under 3 months old. He loved looking at it & loved the rattle noises, but it is hard & he sometimes knocked himself in the head with it. I took it away from him & gave it back when he was around 5-6 months old & he is still interested in it at 7 months. He likes the designs & the rattling, he bangs it on his other toys & even chews on it. The handle is a perfect size for his hands. I do recommend this rattle for the price, just keep an eye on your little one in the earlier months because it can do some damage in the hands of an excited infant!

This is a toy our baby usually passes over - the rattle part doesn't make much sound, and she doesn't have a shape for putting it into our baby's mouth (everything goes in the mouth). She's fascinated with tags, so the best part is that each of these has a tag for her to play with.I don't see that as a set so much because we don't really use them as maracas given the soft sound, but as one toy with a spare.
Just OK -- a little clunky
September 12, 2017
These are OK. They're pretty big and clunky, and the "rattle" takes a good shake to produce any sound at all. I'd prefer the balls inside the rattle to be smaller, so that it would be easier for the baby to make a sound on their own. Eh.
Cute but hardly rattle!
August 12, 2017
Soft and cushy rattles that are cute and the right size for babies to grip. However, they are not much of a rattle. I can hardly hear themrattle. I expected something that would hold my 7 month old grand babie's attention a little more. Perhaps when she's approaching a year old.
Not perfect.
March 28, 2017
I think I expected too much from these. My son liked them for awhile, but tended to hold the soft end to shake then and would sometimes bonk his head with the hard end flapping around.

December 13, 2016
This is just "ok." I wish the beads in the maracas made a little more noise as opposed to the outside material. To expound; when my 10 month old shakes the rattle, it doesn't make that much noise, so he fulfils his need for the sound by banging the outside plastic on anything in site. because the outside plastic is very hard, it is LOUD..annoyingly so, unfortunately.
Good but not musical.
August 19, 2015
I'm giving it 3 starts because I think the name of the product is misleading. It says "Musical", so it made me think that in addition to the rattling noise, it would also play some kind of music. It doesn't. The toy itself is fun and my baby really likes it. It's not too loud, so it's not bothersome. It's perfect for little hands and light to pick up. I bought it for my 3 month old and he was able to pick up the toy. The plush/soft part is great for itchy gums too. Overall, it is a good product, just not what I thought it was.

I thought baby would love this because she puts everything in her mouth and she is drawn to the black and white rings, but for some reason this is one of her least favorite toys. Oh well. I think it's pretty cute.

3 stars because I received different colors than what was shown and I realize in small print it says colors may vary, but I am looking at the customer photos submitted, and it looks like we all got the red/black one.
Appealing & good quality though
March 3, 2017
Just wish the stick was a little longer or there were less rings on it. Not enough space for my baby to hold. Appealing & good quality though.
Nothing great
February 13, 2017
Nothing great, I wouldn't have paid so much for this product if I have seen it with someone!
Good for 3+ mo old babies, very heavy rattle
January 12, 2016
I want to love this rattle. I mean, look how totally cool it looks. Baby loves the oscillating ladybug/vortex/mirror spinner. And the rings are awesome because baby can grab onto them or the middle bar which has cool raised dots. And the contrast is wonderful (babies have limited eyesight when they're very young and can best see black/white color combos). However, it is a beast of a rattle. When baby (accidentally?) smacks mom in the face, it's no fun. And probably not that great when baby smacks himself in the head either! I wish this rattle wasn't so...substantial and weighty. Please make it less of a weapon and I will love it!!
Wash before use
June 22, 2010
My grandson really liked the rattle but the instructions say wash before use and thats what I did. The rattle got water in the black and white swirl side. Sent it back and received a new one and the same happened to the new one. The toy itself is really well made and like I said my grandson really liked it. If I were to ever get one again I would wipe it clean and not submerge it in water (even for a brief time)

They're cute and soft on one end but the other side is pretty hard. I really wanted to like these
January 13, 2017
I've got mixed feelings about these. They're cute and soft on one end but the other side is pretty hard. I really wanted to like these, but we didn't have a pleasant experience with them. My 4 month old granddaughter, while playing, smacked her face with it and she cried. Considering it made her cry and left her a little red where it made contact with her face, I had to throw them out. She's my first granddaughter and if a toy is going to hurt her and make her cry, its best not with her and in the trash, instead. From a grandparent's point of view, those tears broke my heart and the fact that I purchased them for her made me feel worse.

January 2, 2017
These were a low price when I purchased them. I like most of Fisher Prices products theyre usually made well and last a long time. I thought my baby would like these but shes had them a couple months and so far my 9 month old still doesnt care for them or even acknowledge them most of the time. Which may not be so bad considering shes currently teething and I hadnt realized when purchasing that one end of these Is actually fabric that feels very flimsy like could easily come off. So time will tell If she warms up to them.
Boring baby toy
December 30, 2016
They aren't my grandson's favorite... they don't make much noise, and the soft end really serves no purpose. It doesn't make noise, and they aren't different textures, just plain fabric. I would not purchase these again.

April 24, 2016
I thought these were so cute but my son who was 5 months old when I bought them just wasn't that into it. They don't make much sound so maybe it's for younger babies. My son plays with them for about one minute and then puts them down for something else. Maybe if I would've gotten them earlier, like at around 2 or 3 months old he may have been more interested.

This item was not as pictured when it arrived. There were not rattle balls but instead it was a spinning mirror. I bought it because my son really liked a rattle similar the the one pictured that he plays with in our church nursery. I ended up gifting this rattle since it was not what I was expecting.

Mold forms in a space that isn't designed to be cleaned, even with hand washing
August 21, 2015
This can't be put in the dishwasher; it requires hand washing. Even when hand washed, the spinning disc inside the clear globe at one end built up a significant amount of mold in a fairly short period of time (2-3 months). Obviously it needs to be tossed when any mold that can't be cleaned up appears on a toy your baby puts in his or her mouth, and this teether's not designed for the end of it to be opened to access the spinning disc.So it's pricey for something that needs to be tossed after a few months at the most. And it's not redeemed by being a favorite, at least for my baby, who who ranked it (by grabbing preference) 4 or 5 out of the 7 teethers in rotation at the time.
Poorly designed, not attention worthy. Lacks handle bar space
June 18, 2015
My little one is initially attracted to this toy however quickly loses interest. Ever since she learned to slightly grasp objects, she reaches for toys places near her. But this toy doesn't have enough space on the middle bar portion for her to grasp it adequately. Unless I hand it to her, she can't grasp it on her own and the small space where the bar is (most easy place for 3-6 mo old to grab instead of the spheres) is short. Also, the black and white polka dot sphere is a bit heavy so she inadvertently keeps banging it on her hand in an attempt to put the toy in her mouth (which, needless to say, all toys get this sort of inspection from babies). This toy doesn't fit in her mouth either or even around it. One may say it would be a choking hazard, however there are many toys/rattles that are well-designed that work way better than this one. All in all, this toy is a dud. Poorly designed and not keeping my lo's attention long enough to explore the sphere part that has a rotating mirror within it. Because of its poor design, she gives up on it every time. Barely has the space for her little fingers to grab. Unless, I wait for some time and she likes grabbing the spherical portions on it; but it's just counter-intuitive to grab anything like that. 2 stars is imho too generous a rating. Lastly, if she fries grab hold of the handle bar on the toy, the 3 rings no longer move freely along the bar (lack of space issue) that there is no sound coming from it.
This rattle is not good. 1
August 12, 2014
This rattle is not good. 1. Like other reviewers have said the middle pole is too short to hold for baby because there are rings in the way. 2. It is heavy. now at 8.5 months my son can easily lift it but it took a while. 3. The ends are large he cant do what he most wants: to shove it into his little mouth. 4. the spinning end is hard to get to spin. I feel like this rattle is a huge let down. Id save your money and but something else like the Oball rattle.
good design but too heavy for a baby to hold and play
October 10, 2011
first, it is larger and heavier that I thought and def too large and heavy for a newborn (my husband and I tried hitting our heads with it like babies do with most toys and it really hurt!). the instruction on the packaging said it was for the parents to hold and move it in front of the baby's eyes. so I did, and altough the spinning element does not always spin well (it is not fixed, so you have to move the whole thing for it to get into the right position to spin freely) when it did and my girl saw the shiny mirror she beamed! that happened two or three times but I guess she soon got bored and later on she would just look at it indifferently. what's worse - since it takes effort to make the spinning element spin (I hold the bar between my thumb and middle and/or index finger(s) and rotate it) it fell out of my hand once on the baby. luckily it did not hit her on the head or anything but I am reluctant to use the toy since. and second, it does not rattle (the sound of three plastic rings clashing does not count). it is a shame, since the design and concept are really nice!

Boring toys

Boring little toys. The material part gets dirty and the part with the little beads that are suppose to move as you shake... don't move very much and that doesn't make any music in the least. I was really disapointed!

The rattle sound is disappointing. Plus it's very difficult to clean with the soft, cloth end. Ran it in the dishwasher and water got into the plastic end. Threw it away out of fear of mold.
Not very musical
October 25, 2016
Cute and my little one held on to them for a few weeks, but he didn'' really play with them. They were alot quieter than I thought they would be for "musical " toys.
Pretty quiet - no maraca!
April 26, 2016
While great for <6 months, the weak rattle is no great substitute for what sounds we get out of other shakers / maracas... Great for infants, but pretty dull toy for our 10 month gal!

This seemed like a great teether however after I washed it, I noticed soap bubbles in the "wings" of the butterfly. Now my question is NOT what if my baby sucks out the soap bubbles(we know what's in soap). My question is if soap can get in the wings what os that liquid material in the wings that my baby will be sucking out!!!???Very concerning and would highly recommend NOT buying this product for any baby.

Have had this for less than a month, and mold is growing inside of the swirly side. I washed it before I let my granddaughter used it and moisture got inside and I threw it away since there is no way to clean it out. Disappointed that she only got to use it about three times. It wasn't expensive, but I don't want things I buy to be a one time use item! Save your money and buy something that is better quality.
Pinhole leak after 3 uses!
