I love all the Sassy toys! They are affordable and my son loves to play with them!

my daughter loved this rattle perfect size for her to be able to hold.
Great rattle!

It was a gift and seemed to really interest our 5 mo old grandson. Colors are nice & bright and it makes "just enough" noise for a little one.

Perfectly addresses the developmental needs of my newborn. The contrasting colors address the needs of her developing eyesight and the rattle isn't overly loud. During her awake and alert state this rattle is perfect for having her locate sound when rattled on either side of her head and also to focus her eyes.
Developmentally Appropriate Rattle for Infants
March 9, 2014
I researched lots of rattles. We received lots of rattles for gifts. My baby had no interest in any of them. Enter the Spin and Shine. She couldn’t be parted with it from about 3 to 5 months of age. Now, at 7 months, this is still one of her go-to toys to play with in the car. The tiny center bar is a good size for an infant’s grip, and it’s textured — making this rattle experience even more tactile and appealing. The bright, high-contrast colors and patterns on the rattle keep baby visually stimulated. The “spin shine” refers to the clear ball, which contains a rotating (spinning) apparatus with a mirror (shine) and two high contrast patterns. The more baby shakes the rattle, the more this end spins and shines. This serves as a completely fascinating first foray into cause and effect for the little ones. This rattle can be purchased alone or as part of a newborn set of high contrast toys and teethers for the very youngest.

and it is great for baby to hold on to
July 28, 2017
I ordered this for my babe along with the Oball roll car. This shaker is cute, the balls inside seem to fascinate my child, and it is great for baby to hold on to. Toy is lightweight which is great for when babies start to pick up things and flail the arms! Would highly recommend for ages 3m+
Great Oball toy, for kids a little older
March 23, 2017
Oball toys are incredible. We got this one when our daughter was 3 months, and that was a little early - it's heavy and she'd hit herself in the face with it because she didn't quite have the motor control. We switched to more age-appropriate Oball toys and brought it back in the mix when she had a little more control (and could appreciate the shaker element!).
Great rattle
February 9, 2017
This is a great rattle for little fingers! The texture of the green and blue sections is like a silicone that my daughter was easily able to grasp. The rattle itself is very quiet, which she tends to get a little tired of, but she loves being able to hold onto it and wave it around. She got this around 3 months old.I would definitely recommend this rattle.

My grandson is just beginning to grasp items. Of course he tries to put everything in his mouth and this rattler is no different. He is able to hold onto it for short periods of time at this point.A few more weeks and he will have it all figured out how to hold onto things.

March 7, 2016
Our daughter loves rattles, and this one is easy for her short, pudgy fingers to grasp. One of her favorites! Holds up well to chewing, also 😊
Excellent for learning to grab and hold
April 14, 2015
Bought this for 3 month old. He loves it. Very easy to grip. Soft rubber ends also can be chewed on. center small enough for little hands and makes just a little bit of rattle noise.

Great Toy For Baby.
April 11, 2017
Baby loves this toy. She responds to the black and white contrast. Though the picture shown is not the same a the one we purchased? It has a good texture and a good sound on rattling. My only complaint is that water can get into it as was discovered upon trying to clean it.

I Busted Mr. Bug's Wings... A Warning
November 5, 2014
Adorable! Warning though, do NOT put this in a bottle sanitizer! ha! I didn't even consider the water-filled wings might boil... welp, they do. And so Mr. Bug now has a busted wing. Oh well... I love sassy and I'll forgive them this time. If you buy the Sassy inspire Bounce Around, it comes with a Flutterby teether attached (the one that came with ours was even cuter with purple wings) I bought another of this kind too to replace my grave mistake, and it freezes nice and is very easy for baby to hold. She loves his happy face and the multiple textures. He's a bit heavy for a little one to handle, but probably perfect for a teething 6 month old.
Good for the price
July 1, 2014
I bought this toy because I love to find new toys to keep my baby happy while he teethes. I haven't tried putting it in the fridge yet, but he isn't as interested in this toys as some of the others I have purchased. I also find that the antennas on the butterfly are pretty hard and not very fun to chew on (I didn't experiment, it was my baby who chewed on it!)Overall, it is an okay toy for the price. It's small and way to bring along. It's also easy for a baby to hold because of the ring on the bottom. It's also easy to attach to strollers or other gear with some rings since it has a loop.
works well when not frozen
June 24, 2014
This teether is adorable and my son enjoys all the different textures it has but he does not like when I put it in the freezer to chill the two wings on top that have water in them. The other plastic and rubber materials get too cold for him to enjoy chewing on it when its cooled but overall it still serves its teething duties well
Nice Basic Rattle, Good Price
April 8, 2011
We started using this when our son was just under 3 months old. He loved looking at it & loved the rattle noises, but it is hard & he sometimes knocked himself in the head with it. I took it away from him & gave it back when he was around 5-6 months old & he is still interested in it at 7 months. He likes the designs & the rattling, he bangs it on his other toys & even chews on it. The handle is a perfect size for his hands. I do recommend this rattle for the price, just keep an eye on your little one in the earlier months because it can do some damage in the hands of an excited infant!

I wish this made more noise, but my baby seems to enjoy it. It is not the favorite toy, but easy to grab and throw in diaper bag.
Oballs <3
May 28, 2017
I should preface this with: Oballs are my favorite early infant toy (2-6 months). My daughter could grab them before any other toy. She picked up and tried to gum her Oball shaker before she made 9 weeks, and it was the first time I saw her actively interact with a toy. There is something about the plastic mesh that makes them really easy to hold for even the tiniest of hands. My least favorite things about Oballs is they are annoying to clean. It never feels like a wipe down can cover all the angles of the mesh.We started out with the Oball shaker, but quickly ordered the Oball Jingle and Shake Pal and the Oball Rollin' Rainstick Rattle once we realized how well she could grasp them. The highlights for the Oball ShakerThe good- Super light and portable. The smaller plastic webbing makes it easy for little fingers to grab. It has become a staple throw in for our diaper bag.The bad- The "shake" in the shaker is a bit of a let down. It is so muted that our daughter hardly responds to it.

GOOD TOY. My baby just doesn't like t that much. Hard for him to hold
Great for Baby's First Toy.
April 11, 2017
I bought this shaker for my baby when she was 3 months old. She was immediately able to grasp and hold it. No matter where she picked this shaker up from, she was able to keep hold of it. The center handle, which is made out of a textured, hard plastic, is also filled with tiny little plastic balls that make noise as baby moves the toy. The sound is really gentile but loud enough to keep baby engaged. The blue and green ends of the shaker are made out of a slightly flexible material. You can bend them with slight pressure. One downside; it is difficult to clean. If you run it underwater at all, water will seep into the center handle and make all of the beads stick together. The water will eventually dry out in a day or two.Now that my baby is almost 8 months old, she doesn't find this toy as interesting. She now uses it as a wand to hit the toys that dangle from her bouncer.
Mom likes it but baby new born so too soon to tell

Gift for newborn grand. His mom said it's cute and seams to be made well but we won't know how the baby feels about it for a bit. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars will up date when he begins to play with his toys. Recieved quickly packaged well.

December 11, 2015
I bought it 2 month ago. My baby was 3 months. At that time, it was not hard for him to hold this.Especial there are hole, his fingers could hold it easily. But it was difficult for him to put it close to his mouth. For it was large, he could not control it. Right now, my baby is 5 months. He practiced a lot, he can hold it and put it close to his mouth quickly. This staff is safe for baby. Good toy!

I thought baby would love this because she puts everything in her mouth and she is drawn to the black and white rings, but for some reason this is one of her least favorite toys. Oh well. I think it's pretty cute.

3 stars because I received different colors than what was shown and I realize in small print it says colors may vary, but I am looking at the customer photos submitted, and it looks like we all got the red/black one.

Just wish the stick was a little longer or there were less rings on it. Not enough space for my baby to hold. Appealing & good quality though.
Nothing great
February 13, 2017
Nothing great, I wouldn't have paid so much for this product if I have seen it with someone!
Good for 3+ mo old babies, very heavy rattle
January 12, 2016
I want to love this rattle. I mean, look how totally cool it looks. Baby loves the oscillating ladybug/vortex/mirror spinner. And the rings are awesome because baby can grab onto them or the middle bar which has cool raised dots. And the contrast is wonderful (babies have limited eyesight when they're very young and can best see black/white color combos). However, it is a beast of a rattle. When baby (accidentally?) smacks mom in the face, it's no fun. And probably not that great when baby smacks himself in the head either! I wish this rattle wasn't so...substantial and weighty. Please make it less of a weapon and I will love it!!
Wash before use
June 22, 2010
My grandson really liked the rattle but the instructions say wash before use and thats what I did. The rattle got water in the black and white swirl side. Sent it back and received a new one and the same happened to the new one. The toy itself is really well made and like I said my grandson really liked it. If I were to ever get one again I would wipe it clean and not submerge it in water (even for a brief time)

I was hoping the beads would be more loose and flow more so that it would make more sound when my son uses this but it still gives him something to chew on and grasp.

I had hoped it would be smaller - should have read the description more carefully. It is not a great first toy since it is too big for a newborn's hand.

My son can actually grab this due to the design but not as interested since it barely makes a rattle noise. Water will get inside if you try washing it under running water.
Missing shapes
June 20, 2015
I didn't get any of the spirals. And the flowers didn't have notches cut out. So I only got a few "links". The rest were all end pieces.
Just ok.
April 20, 2015
Took away one star because as other reviewers have mentioned, it's hard to keep clean. When I wash it I just try not to get the inside part wet. It's light and easy to pick up for my 3 1/2 month old. It's not very stimulating though, she goes for other, brighter toys with a louder rattle on them. For what it's worth, I caught my cat playing with it.

Not as pictured
June 19, 2017
This item was not as pictured when it arrived. There were not rattle balls but instead it was a spinning mirror. I bought it because my son really liked a rattle similar the the one pictured that he plays with in our church nursery. I ended up gifting this rattle since it was not what I was expecting.

Mold forms in a space that isn't designed to be cleaned, even with hand washing
August 21, 2015
This can't be put in the dishwasher; it requires hand washing. Even when hand washed, the spinning disc inside the clear globe at one end built up a significant amount of mold in a fairly short period of time (2-3 months). Obviously it needs to be tossed when any mold that can't be cleaned up appears on a toy your baby puts in his or her mouth, and this teether's not designed for the end of it to be opened to access the spinning disc.So it's pricey for something that needs to be tossed after a few months at the most. And it's not redeemed by being a favorite, at least for my baby, who who ranked it (by grabbing preference) 4 or 5 out of the 7 teethers in rotation at the time.
Poorly designed, not attention worthy. Lacks handle bar space
June 18, 2015
My little one is initially attracted to this toy however quickly loses interest. Ever since she learned to slightly grasp objects, she reaches for toys places near her. But this toy doesn't have enough space on the middle bar portion for her to grasp it adequately. Unless I hand it to her, she can't grasp it on her own and the small space where the bar is (most easy place for 3-6 mo old to grab instead of the spheres) is short. Also, the black and white polka dot sphere is a bit heavy so she inadvertently keeps banging it on her hand in an attempt to put the toy in her mouth (which, needless to say, all toys get this sort of inspection from babies). This toy doesn't fit in her mouth either or even around it. One may say it would be a choking hazard, however there are many toys/rattles that are well-designed that work way better than this one. All in all, this toy is a dud. Poorly designed and not keeping my lo's attention long enough to explore the sphere part that has a rotating mirror within it. Because of its poor design, she gives up on it every time. Barely has the space for her little fingers to grab. Unless, I wait for some time and she likes grabbing the spherical portions on it; but it's just counter-intuitive to grab anything like that. 2 stars is imho too generous a rating. Lastly, if she fries grab hold of the handle bar on the toy, the 3 rings no longer move freely along the bar (lack of space issue) that there is no sound coming from it.
This rattle is not good. 1
August 12, 2014
This rattle is not good. 1. Like other reviewers have said the middle pole is too short to hold for baby because there are rings in the way. 2. It is heavy. now at 8.5 months my son can easily lift it but it took a while. 3. The ends are large he cant do what he most wants: to shove it into his little mouth. 4. the spinning end is hard to get to spin. I feel like this rattle is a huge let down. Id save your money and but something else like the Oball rattle.
good design but too heavy for a baby to hold and play
October 10, 2011
first, it is larger and heavier that I thought and def too large and heavy for a newborn (my husband and I tried hitting our heads with it like babies do with most toys and it really hurt!). the instruction on the packaging said it was for the parents to hold and move it in front of the baby's eyes. so I did, and altough the spinning element does not always spin well (it is not fixed, so you have to move the whole thing for it to get into the right position to spin freely) when it did and my girl saw the shiny mirror she beamed! that happened two or three times but I guess she soon got bored and later on she would just look at it indifferently. what's worse - since it takes effort to make the spinning element spin (I hold the bar between my thumb and middle and/or index finger(s) and rotate it) it fell out of my hand once on the baby. luckily it did not hit her on the head or anything but I am reluctant to use the toy since. and second, it does not rattle (the sound of three plastic rings clashing does not count). it is a shame, since the design and concept are really nice!

The shape is good for her
January 6, 2016
I have the round Oball with intermittent rattling parts that my 7 1/2 month old loves. So, I thought she might want the rattle too. The shape is good for her, but the rattle part - all of the balls in the middle - don't work at all, they might rattle for a minute, then get stuck, they seem pretty useless. I would just rather have purchased another Oball if I would have known how crappy the rattle was on this.
Boring and too quiet.
April 23, 2014
This rattle is boring and too quiet for my 6 month old daughter. We have a larger Oball toy that has a center column with lots of tiny balls inside. The other toy sounds like a rain stick and the volume is at a pleasant and fun level. This Oball shaker is practically silent. It does not hold her interest at all. I wish it was louder because the size is just right for her to hold in her active little hands.
Just okay
December 28, 2012
Bought this because we LOVE the Oball rattle, which makes a nice sound when shaken. This shaker, however, makes a sound that is barely audible when shaken and my 8 month old who loves the rattle does not have much interest in this shaker. However, I would recommend this for a baby who needs practice holding a lightweight rattle- it is nice that it has a balanced "barbell" shape.

February 27, 2017
This seemed like a great teether however after I washed it, I noticed soap bubbles in the "wings" of the butterfly. Now my question is NOT what if my baby sucks out the soap bubbles(we know what's in soap). My question is if soap can get in the wings what os that liquid material in the wings that my baby will be sucking out!!!???Very concerning and would highly recommend NOT buying this product for any baby.

Have had this for less than a month, and mold is growing inside of the swirly side. I washed it before I let my granddaughter used it and moisture got inside and I threw it away since there is no way to clean it out. Disappointed that she only got to use it about three times. It wasn't expensive, but I don't want things I buy to be a one time use item! Save your money and buy something that is better quality.
