Awesome
September 23, 2017
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I really love this hydration backpack. I searched for awhile to find a backpack with exactly the right specifications for my needs. I wanted something that would hold as much water as possible that would also serve double duty as a decently sized backpack for day trips and bouncing around town on a normal day. I bought this primarily for hikes since I drink a LOT of water and I'm slowly venturing out on longer hikes. It's great to have my hands free on the trail since I'm not the most graceful on my feet and I often need to grab things for support while climbing up/down things. The bladder itself is pretty good although I struggled with securing the drinking tube the first couple times. I actually just got back from a week long trip to Hawaii and I ended up using this more as a daypack everyday because it was perfect for holding everything we needed for a day out and about. If you take the bladder out of the main pocket you can even put a 40L bottle in there if you don't want to use the bladder and have the tube sticking out all day. I used this as my carry on backpack and was able to squeeze a full outfit, snacks, charger and a bunch of miscellaneous little bags in there. Oh and I clipped my 40L water bottle to the side. All in all, a great bag for hydration and everything else.

Bought this almost 6 mos ago to use as a day hike pack that could also carry odds and ends and still keep my 10 Yr old Camelbak Mule stocked for mountain biking. I have used this in the Sierras, Mojave, in the heat, rain, snow and all over in between, it has simply become my go to pack. It's been rugged, no tears and comfortable. I was going to rate this at a 4.5 because the straps are not as comfortable on my body frame (5'10" 200lbs) as a CamelBak however it is just as versatile and durable. Also I have never used the waist straps, properly fitted the chest strap keeps it close and attached for the roughest MTB adventure. Pockets are great and very usable, zippers have lasted well, the external cord works great for rain gear, ropes and cordage or a bear bell. I did change out the bladder immediately though only because I am used to CB and had an extra one. If I remember the one that came with it was not ideal for me but would be functional for other.
Excellent pack for the money. Lightweight, decent room, comfortable, and looks good too.

I've had this pack for about 3 months and haven't really found anything to complain about, especially for the price.I'm probably like most of you and have way too many packs and backs. Seems like I have a pack or bag for every occasion. I have regular sized backpacks from Dakine and London Bridge Trading, some larger 3 day packs from various makers, an Eberlestock Gunslinger for packing rifle and gear, as well as several in between and a closet full of ones that have one use on them never to be seen again.Several months ago it dawned on me that I needed to lighten up my load for quick hikes so shopped for a smaller replacement which brought me to this. For starters, much like what attracts us to our future ex wives, this thing is attractive. It is just a good looking pack.I'm just over 6' tall and just over 300lbs and it fits me well. Anything much smaller might be goofy but I have no problems with this pack. The comfort adjustments are nice and it carries well. This is not a large pack by any means but can carry plenty. If it were any bigger it might as well be a regular sized backpack. I usually put about a gallon of water in the bladder (not the one that came with it). In the main compartment I keep a Fuji X-T1 w/ lens, an extra lens, small first aid kit, lens filter kit, and a small microfiber rag. There is generally still plenty of room if I wanted to stuff more in there but as the main thing I am packing is a camera I tend to just fit that in there. The upper small compartment works good for my wallet, extra camera battery, and cell phone if I don't want it in my pocket. I also keep a few other misc little things in there. The lower small compartment usually has a pocket knife and a pistol. I usually just throw a Glock 43 in there with a Taran Tactical mag extension but yesterday I did throw a Glock 19 with Surefire XC-1 in there and it fit no problem. There is also a little lanyard that I hook my keys to in there with a little room left over if I wanted to fit more.If I am bringing a tripod, which I often do, I just lay it under the lower pocket and it is sort of clipped in place with the 3 buckles. Hard to explain but if you saw the pack it would make sense. I believe this is actually for storing a jacket but I have been putting my travel tripod in there with no issue. It never slides out and carries well.If there is a chance of rain I usually throw a light windbreaker type jacket under the shock cord and cinch it in. Works real well. The small side mesh pockets will hole a small bottle of water if you don't want to use the bladder. I have tried to put my tripod leg in there and secure it to the side with a strap but it doesn't really work well. Those side pockets are nice for quick access stuff on the trail. I often put my wrappers or small trash in them and when I get back to a garbage can it is real quick to dispose of.I have probably used it on 10 or so hikes without any issues. My son and I spent 9 days on a camping/road trip from Portland, OR to central Montana this summer and this was my main pack. Any time we left the truck for whatever reason I generally grabbed this pack and knew I had what I needed. I have also at times removed the bladder and put my small laptop in that part. It is just a Dell 11" laptop, pretty small, but fit great in there and had a little protection. I've actually done that quite a bit and then put my lunch in the main part and used this pack in the office. All in all I'm really happy with it. My son has a similar sized pack from a name brand company that is working really well. In fact it is a pack I bought over 15 years ago and used a lot snowboarding myself. Still looks great, looks modern, and treats him well, but if it ever dies we will probably replace with one of these. Really hard to beat for the money.
Great pack at an outstanding price!
September 1, 2015
I picked up this TETON Sports Oasis 1100 Hydration pack to replace a bulkier standard backpack, and I couldn't be more pleased with its performance, capacity, and looks. As an archaeologist, I subject my gear to very harsh conditions and usage. I am confident this pack will hold up for many seasons---it has already weathered many gnarly briar patches and "unintentional ground contact" incidents unscathed! In addition to being robust, it is also deceptively capacious. I have included an image that shows all I pack on my daily hikes, and there is still room in the pack for more gear that I only occasionally require such as a 4" Marshalltown trowel, a file, small bottles of incidentals (Technu, peroxide, and calamine lotion), as well as found artifacts. I imagine it could hold even more were the bladder removed, but the hydration system is a must for me!After a couple of good washes, the bladder doesn't have much of an aftertaste, the bite valve works well, and the tube is more than long enough for my needs. The length of the tube is, in fact, my only qualm with this pack as it is perhaps a bit too long and does not stay tucked into the bladder pocket very well. A small quibble, I know. Also, the pack is not quite as bright as it appears in the image (at least as it appears on my screen). It is a more subdued pumpkin seed-type color rather than blaze/hunter orange. I chose this color based on the desire for a high-visibility pack and was a tad disappointed by the color, but it should still function well with other high-visibility measures in situations where one wants to be seen.As a fairly large man (6'2", 210), I was pleased that all the straps were more than adequate for my frame. The pack sits well on the back, and the mesh pads allow for some airflow and comfort while keeping one's body heat from warming up the water too much. This is a great alternative to the much more expensive Camelbak packs (not a commentary on that brand's quality, just a matter of comparison).Addendum: While there is a kitty in the image, she is not actually included in the list of items I carry everyday. However, she would probably fit in the pack with the pictured gear comfortably! (Please do not put your cat in your backpack.)
After 2~3 monts of hydration pack research, I finally found my perfect pack
August 4, 2015
I needed a hydration pack that would be great for long hikes, had plenty of storage for a few survival essentials and not be bulky because I have a small frame of a body. It also needed to be lightweight because I wanted to be able to run with it for my longer runs and not have it weigh me down. It also had to be inexpensive. I was able to find packs that offered at least one of those criteria, but what I wanted was the whole package. I looked at the size, it was about the size that I wanted, and it offered adequate storage for my needs. I looked at the price and it was in my budget range. I liked everything about this pack and decided to go ahead and buy it.Pockets:The pack has four zippered pockets the biggest used for the hydration bladder and it has a Velcro strap to hold the bladder in place. There are also two openings near the top at the start of the shoulder straps for the bladder tube to reach through. The second zippered pocket is just a normal storage pocket. You can put your workout clothes, food, and electronics; just about anything, you might need for a run or long hikes. I use it to keep an extra bladder just in case I might be out for a longer time. The next pocket is big enough for your wallet, keys, protein bar, flavored drink mix ex. The last pocket is bigger than the smallest pocket and it can be used to keep you cell phone or small electronics in place. There are two elastic pouches as well as a clip in this pocket. On the outside of this pocket there is net made of elastic bungee cord that can be used to hold various objects in place. There is one more pocket that contains a rain guard for the pack. It is located on the bottom of the pack labeled "RAINCOVER". It is a Velcro pocket and it is easy to miss if you do not know what to look for. This is actually great because it does not draw attention away from the pack.Accessories:The pack comes with two side elastic water bottle holders. It has various clips that can be used to tighten or loosen the pack to help make carrying various objects a breeze. There is a clip that I used which can unfold the last pocket. I used to keep my towel in place. It can be used to store climbing rope or other items. The back of the pack has two sturdy 1-Centimeter thick foam pads that run down along the pack. They are covered in breathable material in the form of net type structure. The shoulder straps are really thin and have thin foam with large surface area to allow breathability. There are two stability straps. One runs along your chest are and the orange buckle used to secure the strap has a built in survival whistle which is quite loud. The second strap runs along your waist and ahs generous amount of slack to accommodate varies waist sizes. There is also a strap on the very top of the pack that can be used to hang the pack. One little thing that many people do not know about is on the very bottom of the pack there is a "V" shaped hole. It is in the pocket that holds the water bladder. That is there to allow for drainage of water if your pack becomes wet.The stitches:I have gone through and observed the stitching on this pack and I can safely say it is really well done. The stitches are barely visible and they use the color thread according to the pack color you chose. It is actually very beautiful. The verdict:I do my best to provide helpful reviews and I try to go into as much detail as possible. I make it a point to be unbiased and all my reviews are written and rewritten to insure I give the most update information. I ordered and tested this pack on a few hikes as well as running and found it to be one of the best inexpensive hydration packs out on the market. I ordered the green pack because Green Is my favorite colure and the pack itself is beautifully constructed.I am inclined to order another pack if anything happens to my first one as well as recommending it to friends and family. I enjoyed this product and I give it full five stars.

I am obsessed with my Oasis 1100 hydration backpack!! I took this to Hawaii and am in love. There are two straps for you to use so the backpack is secure to your body. I am obsessed with the different amount of compartments you have. 4 zippers & two mesh pouches on each side. As an avid hiker, this backpack is my go to! I love the 2 litter bladder. Plus, IT'S BPA FREE. You really can do no wrong with this back pack. Very light weight & super comfortable. I recommend this to anyone that loves the outdoors and lives an active life style.

GREAT DAYPACK! This is a great buy and perfect for everyday carry!!!
August 7, 2017
I love this backpack! It was just the right size for what I needed. Big enough to carry a rain shell, light jacket, and a few other things. The two pockets on the side are perfect for water bottles. Smaller pockets are perfect for your smaller things like a portable charger, wallet, keys and some misc. things. The next pocket is a size up and is great for bringing along some snacks. The water bladder comes out and that space can be used for extra storage. It is capable of having a larger bladder if you wish. The pack seems to be well made. I have used it several times on day hikes and trips to different events and amusement parks. The only thing wrong was the chest strap. It needs to be several inches longer. It is made for a small frame. If you have a big chest, you might not be able to use the strap. If you are in need of a small pack for everyday carry, then this is the one you want. I have many packs and this is my go to. I keep this in my car for everyday use.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Nice pack for the price! Updated!
July 19, 2017
Initial Impressions; Slightly smaller than you might be expecting as far as interior space, but that is probably simply due to the fact that it's taken up by the water bladder (when it's full). Definitely good enough for a day or even weekend excursion if you pack light. I find the upper small pouch to have a little less space than I would like and the way the zipper opens makes it prone for things to fall out if you're not careful. Making that pocket slightly deeper would be good. Maybe put some velcro and a secondary pouch on it inside that pouch to supplement it (Velcro; https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Sticky-Fabrics-Rectangle/dp/B00N0W85WA/ with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/HOPEVILLE-Organizer-assorted-documents-accessories/dp/B06XX8J7GC/). If you're not used to the way this type of pack rides on your back you might be a little put off, but use the straps and find your spot and you'll quickly become accustomed to it and it will be comfortable for you. Quality seems quite decent for the price. I find that the sip tube, for me, is much easier to use with my fingers than just my teeth, which is fine. I've used it on a few day hikes and shorter hikes already. I will come back after several months of use and update this review!UPDATE: Went ahead and added the additional storage pouch inside the upper small pouch like I talked about above, with the products that I listed above. It seems to be working perfectly, and i use the other two extra pouches from that set inside my main pouch to hold extra things and make it easier to organize.I also added a flag patch via the same velcro to the outside bottom pouch. So far the fabric stickum that they use on that velcro seems to make a good seal with the backpack material. It holds the patches on securely, but I imagine that sort of seal will be less secure over time than one that is sewn on. See pictures.- Paul
Almost Perfect
July 4, 2017
Ordered this for a 10-day trip through Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce National Parks. I needed to have enough storage space to pack a DSLR camera, a couple lens, snacks, water, and some spare clothing for day hikes. It did so comfortably with some space to spare, however those with a significantly longer lens may have a tighter fit. I had a Pentax K-50 with Sigma 18-35mm attached. It packed well with the lens hood off.I was impressed by the amount of features jammed into an affordable mid-size backpack, and happy with the waist and chest straps which held it securely to my body to eliminate swinging during hikes. The hydration bladder held up sufficiently and appeared durable, though the mouthpiece and hose could use some improvement. The mouthpiece is designed as a separate component and attached to the end of the hose, and must be twisted slightly upward and pinched in the designated spot to draw water from it. From my experience, the rubber piece pulled off too easily with minimal force, and it also took some practice to pinch it in the right spot to get a good flow of water. I found it easier to pull the rubber mouthpiece off, point the hose upward, and draw water directly from the hose, particularly on hikes in hot weather where hydration was imperative. As for the hose, I felt the length was 5-6" too long. It was long enough to run from the back over one's shoulder, down the front shoulder below armpit level, and curved around and back up to the other shoulder, making it somewhat cumbersome. The first time I used the bungee was a disappointment. The cord came dislodged from the hook while I was attempting to secure a pair of hiking shoes. However, this was able to be fixed easily enough and will not affect my rating.Overall, it's a fantastic backpack for day hikes at a great value. The materials are solid and built to handle bumps, brushes, and scrapes. This is my first hydration backpack, so while I am unable to compare with similar products, it met my expectations and I would recommend to others looking for an affordable alternative.
Great pack, no issues yet.
May 28, 2017
Great little pack, have not had any issues since I've used it once, on a 6 mile hike round trip, up 2,000 feet. Fully loaded. It's also my EDC bag so I will keep you posted on how it holds up, first run it did very well. It's an 18L bag TETON SPORT OASIS 1100. I'M 6,2 and 240LBS it fits me very well.Pros:°Comfortable°Good padding°Plenty of room° great quality for the price.° insulated hydration pocket.°ambidextrous for hydration tube° great butterfly pouch for a jacket or gloves ect.° compression steaps°hip straps°chest strapsCons:°Water bottle pockets way too small, more like snack pockets.°Don't like the bladder period. Replaced it with a Condor 2.5 liter with mouth piece cover and larger tube,Only fill it up to 2L or it's going to take all your space.
Great bag for enduro / trail riding
May 29, 2016
4stars since i'm not sure really how long the zippers are going to last, they seem a little light. Great bag for enduro/trail riding -- perfect size to fit: med-kit, tools, food, along with other odds and ends. Hydro is great no problems the opening is wide enough to throw in some ice. if this lasts a good few seasons i'll buy another one.----update almost 1 year later update since i'm now looking for a new pack----going to keep my rating at 4 stars: after 1 year of on/ off usage the little Teton pack held up pretty well being thrown around the trails during day rides in the deserts and mountains. The zipper are blown, and other seams are separated. But, for the price point....it held up well. I did find the hydration bladder to get a little funky after awhile. goodbye little pack you served me well.
Great day hike bag.
March 21, 2015
Smaller than I wanted, but it's a great bag for the price, and I really like the bladder. It gave the water a little plasticy taste but I'm sure that will fade. I bought this a do all sorta pack, school, hiking and camping. I think it will be a little to small for school, but I'll give it a shot. Anyways, all the pictures were taken with the bladder filled to the 2l mark and I threw in a picture of everything I could comfortably fit in the bag. The whistle isn't great, but I don't care too much about that and I hated bungee straps so I took them off.

it just wasn't a good fit for me
July 31, 2017
I had to return this bag and bladder, it just wasn't a good fit for me. The bag was quite nice and had good pockets but I have to say I like my cheaper Coleman from Target better. This bag was on the heavy side for my needs, but I could see how it would be good for someone else who needs a bit more room and storage. The real kicker was the bladder quality, it is awful. There isn't an easy way to hold it when refilling and you can just feel the plastic is bad quality. I was looking to replace the bladder mainly so this bag and bladder had to be returned.
Bag is great bladder system is not.
July 28, 2017
The pack is good. The bladder isn't. It's knock two stars off bad. The bladder stinks (that plastic/vinyl taste) and it doesn't go away. The mouth piece is also a pain. It's a pull push valve system. "Twist and pull" almost impossible one handed. Try to pull without the twist and you'll likely pull the mouth piece off the valve. The mouthpiece is also hard to get a good bite on to actually suck water. Camelback's mouthpiece is far superior. That said, It was cheap (relatively) If you want a small pack and already have a good bladder, buy it and trash the bladder it comes with. I transferred my Camelback bladder from a simple Camelback and now I love this bag. Carries my bike locks and whatever I need. Use it for an overnight bag when I'm biking. Seems to be sturdy. Use it daily and still looks and feels new. Suspension system isn't great, but it doesn't have to be at this size.
Good Pack, Horrible Hydration!
July 17, 2017
Backpack is actually really good. Not to big for biking but lots of pockets for small things and light jackets. However, the hydration pack is garbage! Just throw it away to start with and replace it with a good quality Camelback or the like and you will still be ahead of buying one of their packs. It takes so much suction to get any water put of this pack you will be more out of breath and more thirsty! If you already have a hydration bladder than this pack would work well!
Great pack, bladder broke
October 23, 2016
This is a great pack for day hiking. Plenty of storage, quality stiching, not too bulky. The problem is the hydration bladder, broke in two hours, Amazon fixed the problem quickly. On the plus side the bladder compartment fits a 3L replacement bladder.
Very small, hydration bladder is gross
September 15, 2016
The pack interior is very, very small. You can only carry the absolute smallest basics in this bag (some snacks, keys, etc). I don't think you could even put a jacket inside it if you needed to wear layers. You might be able to strap a jacket to be outside with the attached bungee cords. The hydration bladder tastes very strongly of plastic and disgusting, even after several very thorough washings with dish soap, a bleach solution, and a vinegar solution. The hydration bladder isn't salvageable; I'll be getting either a Platypus or Camelback to use instead. I would just use water bottles but....The mesh pockets on the outside for waterbottles are very narrow, only a little bigger diameter than that of a soda can. Putting a normal sized waterbottle in the interior takes up all of the room on the inside. The material it's made of seems very durable and the construction is solid. The pack is mostly very comfortable although it rubs quite a bit at my under arm area.Probably a very good size for a bicyclist around town. It's not important to me but the voor is more of a burnt orange/dull bronze/golden brown color than the bright orange in the picture.I'd return it but I've already used the hydration bladder so I'll either keep it for very short hikes or sell it at a yard sale.
Exceptional value -- if it hadn't sprung a leak
June 5, 2015
An exceptional hydration backpack for the price, just enough space for a day hike, and very comfortable, with one exception: The water bladder sprung a small leak after a month of use. This happened DURING a very hot 7 mile hike in Nevada. Hydration bladders simply can't fail when the stakes are that high. I should be clear that I love the backpack itself, but I'm going to pop in a 3L hydration bladder from Platypus instead. I prefer it because Platypus has a quick disconnect on the tube, and a zip top which makes removal and filling incredibly easy.

The smell of plastic is not the business.
July 27, 2017
Purchased this water packet because I loved all the storage, the size of the bladder, and the olive green color. When I first got it I followed cleaning instructions prior to first use. Went on a hike with friends and struggled so hard to get a drop of water out of it. To make matters worse the plastic smell was so strong! It made it unbearable to even want to put it near my face. Due to the smell and lack of water flow I ended up drinking from a water bottle which I had conveniently put in the side pocket of the backpack. One of my favorite features.Overall I love the actual back pack. The bladder... I ended up throwing it away because no matter what I did the smell of plastic never went away. I'll have to buy one seperatly because the backpack is too cool to not use.
Good at first but then...
July 18, 2017
I bought this for my husband who runs a summer camp. He started using it daily about a month and a half ago, and last week the bladder got a hole in it and started leaking everywhere. Before this, it was a great backpack to carry his lunch, first aid kit, and various supplies as well as keep him hydrated, but now it's just a smallish backpack.
Looks cool, but ripped after only a few uses and is already outside the return window :(
April 28, 2017
Im giving this two stars at the moment since it looks really cool, but stitching failed after only a few short rides. Used primarly as a water and snack bag when i go out trail riding, its seemed like a good choice for my needs - and the 2017 new colors left me hoping they were the latest and greatest. On my last ride, i went to open the main compartment and the zipper just ripped from the fabric leaving the pocket open. Lucky i had a buddy who could take my cellphone and wallet into his bag, but i had really hoped for a more sturdy product. Could have just been a fluke, or a mistake in production, but going to leave the review as-is until i hear back from Teton.I attempted to reach out to Amazon, but since i purchased it over the winter and did not use it for a few months the return window has already expired - of course!
started out great - very nice bag
September 29, 2016
started out great - very nice bag..but after only a few rides & months, the zippers came undone & the pack is useless- pure junk - Do Not BUY!!Update - the amazon return policy didnt allow me to return the product due to it being past 60days so I emailed Teton direct - the rep was very responsive & after sending in some pic's of the pack & the broken zipper, he is sending a replacement pack. CUDOS to Teton for thier great customer service & quick reply!
Great as a bag, not so great at providing water
September 18, 2016
As a bag, this is exactly what I was looking for. I had a Camelbak but it didn't have any storage so it wasn't fitting my needs. This one has a couple pockets, and I'm able to carry everything I need. However, the actual water part was not good at all. I don't know if it was defective or what, but it was near impossible to get water out of the tube. I tried taking it off, making sure it was clear, and anything else I could think of, but it would hurt my mouth trying to suck water through the hose and barely anything would come out. I ended up swapping parts with my other Camelbak and using this bag with the water system from the other. Now i can store stuff AND drink water. Certainly not what I expected or planned on doing, but at least I can make it work.
Good but broke quickly
June 1, 2016
It was good while it lasted. Well.. Aside from sort of being a tight fit for most anything. I compare it to the similarly sized Osprey bag that Amazon sells that I was using before this.. Which lasted me nearly 2 years before tearing. This one just lasted two months before the zipper broke. Hoping that someone in the company will see this and let me return or replace it because Amazon won't. But anyway, the bag is good and I would change my review if the zipper would get fixed. Read something about a lifetime warranty.

Great pack, but strap broke day one hour one. And in the very short hour I wore this it did feel comfortable but having the strap break without any incident didn't allow me long enough to know if it's as delightful as the reviews say it was. I will take a loss I hate dealing with burning my time going to the post just to send it back to burn more time waiting for them to receive it and then send me another. Thanks but no thanks , burnt my time on this review as a courtesy to have better QC and product design. Never had a single issue with CamelPak !And the bladder was cleaned and taste like plastic. The bladder nipple was hard to get water out of but if you bit the side it flows well .Teton,Make me a believer , make things right for me and those who doubt you. I want to be a supporter and happy user of Teton products but right now you let me down .
At first I was happy when I got it

At first I was happy when I got it. The main reason I do not like it is due to the water bag. I have washed it so many times with multiple products, and it still has a high taste of rubber. Not only that the drinking nozzle does not work properly. The bag alone is good, I like the idea of the water cover to protect the bag, along with my items.

Same issue I had with the trail runner 2L hydration pack except this one started to leak, even though the tube was secured and there were no visible holes around the bladder unit- Item did not work, could not get water to come out of the bladder using the straw tube. Tried multiple ways and even watched youtube videos but it still did not work. Very difficult to use and velcro strap inside to hold bladder is not supportive enough. I must have received a defective item.

Poor quality bladder and mouth piece
March 10, 2017
Poor quality bladder and mouth piece. Hard to use on the go when it did work. Then the mouth piece came off, the water leaked out and didn't work again. The pack seemed better quality.
