Weighmax - the perfect WEIGH Machine for your needs
July 27, 2017
I ordered this Weighmax sleek black machine after reading the several great reviews for this weighing machine. This machine came in just about 4 days, the seller is very prompt. The machine works just as promised. What I liked about this machine is the fact that it can hold up to 75 lbs. I may never use that heavy of a box on it, but glad to know that it can measure up to that amount. I tried the small lithium battery that it came with. It measured it down to the oz and then beeped once the weight was taken, and the instrument display locked on the weight. Then I clicked the reset button and weighed the T.V remote for 4.8 oz and then beeped once the weight was confirmed by the machine. It's a neat little machine and comes with a 10-year limited warranty. I think that is a great deal. The price of $18.95 is a great price and shipping is about the same cost, less a penny. I look forward to using the machine for a long time to come. I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this machine to any user. If the machine is defective, I am sure the manufacturer will replace the machine up to 10 years on normal use conditions.
Awesome!!

Awesome! Does the job really well. I've used this so many ways. I've weighed entire suitcases, boxes for the post office, and even ingredients in my kitchen. It is super accurate, quick and reliable. I like the tare button so you can zero the scale during any point. For example, I've used an empty bowl, zeroed the scale, and then weighed chocolate for recipes. Best of all, it has an adapter- goodbye batteries! The display is nice and big so you don't have to squint. And the measured weight is displayed for a while so you do not have to memorize or rush to jot down numbers.
It has worked much better than I expected
March 19, 2016
I bought this scale for weighing items I need to ship that were purchased on eBay. It has worked much better than I expected. The best feature is that each time I turn it on it self calibrates. So If I need to use a bowl or other item to hold the things I need to measure I just need to turn it on with that item on it first. It zeros out. Then I add my items to be weighed. I also like that it beeps and holds the measurement when it has weighed an item. So when I put a box on the scale that is much bigger than the scale, I only need to wait for the beep. Then I can remove the box and see the measurement. I would definitely recommend this scale.
Perfect & simple to use
September 6, 2015
Got this to save $ on postage for clothing items being sold online. Before, if I wanted the convenience of doing the postage at home, I had to weigh in full lbs only & would purchase postage for the next lb up to be on the safe side. This saves me $ by calculating the exact ounces, w/o having to go to the post office. And it's a nice compact size, & I like the versatility that it can be plugged in OR used w/ batteries, & it is easy to use. If you read the directions on initially calibrating it (also easy peasy) & KEEPING it calibrated, it is accurate.
Excellent postage scale

I decided to review this item since other reviewer's comments have previously been so helpful.Yes, it does everything it is supposed to do. I checked against known weights for letters, packages and books and it was very accurate. It is easy to use and operates with the adapter orbattery, which was included. BTW, a replacement battery (9 volt) is about $4.00 at most stores. You just place an item on the scale then in about 1-2 seconds it weighs and beeps. The weightappears on the LED face, so just lift off the item and use the number for packaging reference. You can also push the tare button and add item to get its weight. For my needs, I just found thathaving the calculated weight on the front in a big LED and a beep to tell you the weight is calculatedspeeds up the process: fewer times pushing buttons and glancing to get the info. You can change the modeto Kg.. That does come in handy for weighing items going out-of-country. For a typical e-bay sale, it isnot likely that you would exceed the 75lb. maximum: most PC items max out a little over 50Lb, so the extra25Lb. capacity definitely helps. Finally, the included 9 volt battery worked. For intermittent use, it's theonly way to go.As a student, who buys and sells on e-bay, this is a very high value tool. I can weight outaccurately US mail and/or FedEx/UPS packages; it is constantly being used. Just knowing howmuch books weigh, is a lot of help.To sum up, for the price you get an excellent ROI.Would highly recommend to anyone considering a purchase.
Nice features for the price

Scale seems to be pretty accurate. Can be battery operated, so you don't need to be near an outlet. Also, has an automatic shutoff...and saves the weight on the screen so you can view the weight once the package is removed. Has come in handy so far!

Works well and seems accurate

Seems to work well. The only problem I had is that it doesn't seem to shut down after a certain time period. Seems accurate. Haven't had any dirty notices from the post office. Really good for the price.
Works well for the price
April 13, 2015
I purchased this scale for small business use (eBay), and so far it has worked well for this purpose. Having it has been very handy, and has already saved me a few bucks on shipping so far. When creating a listing, eBay will automatically set a standard, but often times inaccurate weight for certain items, so having a scale to measure the actual weight beforehand has also prevented me from losing money. So far, I have not run into any issues with packages being returned due to incorrect weight, but I also give myself some leeway of about an ounce, and incorporate that into my sale prices just to be on the safe side. My only complaint so far is that the scale is very quick to lock in a weight - sometimes, before I can even finish adjusting the item (i.e. clothing items that have straps & things). I either have to remove the item, and turn the scale off/back on again and redo everything, or remove the item and wait for the scale to clear, which seems to take quite a bit of time. You get what you pay for though, and for $25, you can't expect perfection. Which is fine, because it suits my needs well enough.
Pretty pleased, only minor annoyances.
March 29, 2015
So far this is working well. Been using it for a few weeks now.I replaced another scale I was using with this one. The other was working great except it had a 35 pound weight max and I needed something that could handle heavier packages. This one is working out fine. Some little things that bug me slightly...NOT deal breakers, just things to be aware of...these are seriously first world type problems....hahaI don't like how the off/on button and the tare button on the side..every time I press them the whole unit slides across my desk. Since I am usually holding a package that needs weighed or has just been weighed in my other hand I can't hold the scale in place to press the buttons easily....so at least a few times a day I weigh, press the button, slide the scale and go "grrrr" and then get on with my work, hahaMy old scale had the buttons on the front and so I could just press down and the scale stayed in place, I never even realized what a nice, subtle feature that was until I had to start using this scale. This scale does lbs with ounces and it does kilograms with grams, that works, but again I was little used to my other scale having the option of grams, ounces, lbs and kilograms all as separate measurements I could take."Well gee self if you love your old scale so much why don't you marry it?" AHAHAHAI do like this scale though over all. It doesn't take up a lot of room, it seems to be measuring accurately. It can handle big heavy boxes, yaaaay! Sometimes my packages get upwards of 40 lbs and it's sooo nice to be able to just weigh that and not have to waste time rethinking what is packed, how it's packed etc.I haven't used the feature of flipping the base thingy up to weigh envelopes, just package weighing so far.I DO love the little beep it makes when it's weighed the package and I DO lovvve that it keeps every weight, whether heavy or light on the display for a bit even after moving the package. That was an annoyance with my old scale, having to awkwardly reach under a package to hit the hold button. So this is working out great in that regard.Overall pleased with the purchase.UPDATE:Shortly after writing my review I realized life is too short to chase a scale across the desk so I took an extra moment to dig out some of that bumpy, grip shelf liner stuff and put a big piece under the scale so each foot touches it.The sliding scale is no more!So I'd recommend this extra bit for others who'd be annoyed by the same problem. Now my scale is that much more functional for my workspace.
First for the good news: The scale is accurate as described
March 9, 2015
First for the good news:The scale is accurate as described, to withing .2 oz. I took a package to the USPS and on two scales it came in at 3 lb 13.2 oz. The scale read it at 3 - 13 even. The tare feature is nice to get two weighs without having to remove the first before adding in the second shipload.Built well enough.A 75 pound scale for the price this is a good value! What I didn't like. The instruction page that arrived with the product is unreadable so worthless. Googled the product and found User page online.Attempted to lift open the cover as shown using the thumb-slot in the front. The catches on the side are so snug that my first attempt pulled the scales front legs up and out of the base. I have to open it by popping the sides right now until I gently shave the catch points slightly to fit less snug.
Only one problem, calibration. Great scale otherwise.
September 17, 2014
I would have given this scale 5 stars if not for the stupid calibration scenario. Who has an exactly 75lb weight randomly laying around? People who lift weights, that’s about it and even those wright are not guaranteed accurate unless competition grade gear. That said, I love the option of battery or plug-in for power and it works fine so far. I’ve used it mostly for food so no heavy weigh and ship to report.I can report that I tested it with thee 100 gram weights that came with another digital mini-scale I have. This scale was dead on accurate at 100-200 and 300 grams.A good scale for the money but they should devise a more logical calibration method. I don’t have the answer to that because they are certainly not going to ship a 75 pound weight with every scale, but for most people this is simply not feasible the way it shipped to calibrate it.The manual should suggest different known things in the world most people have or see normally like cans of food or whatever and have a procedure that allows calibration with different known weights, not just 75lbs. Most scales need to be calibrated from very light to very heavy anyway. If not for that one issue this is a five start product so far, but I cannot report on longevity yet.
Great postage scale with 2 minor issues
February 23, 2011
I have owned this scale for several months now and I use it when I sell on eBay or Listia. It is very simple to use. To use the scale, you turn it on, wait a second for the screen to read 0 and then put your item on. Within 2 seconds, the weight is displayed. If you leave the item there, the weight will "lock" on the screen for 10 seconds. This is great if you are weighing a very large box because you can wait for the weight to "lock" and then remove the box so you can actually see the screen. On other scales, you have to use a flashlight and bend at weird angles to really read the screen when weighing a large box. This scale has never been wrong for me. Every other week, I take a sample (approximately 5-7) of my packages and bring them to the post office to have the weights checked. This scale has never been off and I've never had to add postage to the package. It really is an amazing scale.I've had two very minor issues with this scale. The first is that sometimes it recalculates the weight of an item and when I remove it, the scale doesn't read 0 ounces but instead -0.2 ounces. When this happens, I just hit the tare button and it resets to 0 ounces. The other is that the time that the scale locks in the weight is sometimes too long for my liking. Most of the time, I am weighing small items like paperback books or DVDs and I want to quickly get the weight and move on to the next item. When I'm weighing 20+ items, I don't want to wait 10 seconds between each one. So what I do is put the item on the scale, get the weight and quickly move it before it locks in the weight.

It'll work perfect for several months to a year
September 15, 2016
UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER (APPROX) It's about a year after I bought the scale. It now reads off by .4 ounces. The lady at the post office said "be careful next time with weighing." I said, "What do you mean? I always round UP". She showed me on her own scale that both my packages were off by 4 oz. This never happened before. Only thing I can thing is that moving it and knocking into it accidentally with my hand threw the whole thing off. Lifting the lid and resetting it back down, I thought would sort of rebalance it. It doesn't. It is cheaply made. If you want "good enough for now", get it. It'll work perfect for several months to a year. If you want strong, durable and heavy and solid this is not for you.
Only good for boxes. Process fail.
July 28, 2016
This scale has a lock feature that cannot be disabled. After 1-2 seconds the weight is locked on the screen so the box can be removed and the weight is still visible. Great for oversized items, not good if you need to use this as part of an assembly process. The lock lasts for 6 seconds.Screen is hard to see beyond a 15deg angle. If your scale is on the floor, you have to move fast to get the box off and then get down to see the weight.Works well enough just not a versatile as I hoped.
Good Warranty, Helpful customer service
August 4, 2015
Update: Since item has a 10 year warranty, I contacted customer service & they were VERY helpful- Sending me a new unit. Will update review again once I get to try a working scale.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Out of the box Item does not work. I didn't try it out before the return period was up. Just opened the box, put in the battery, turned on but does not register any weights. Included instructions do not give any instruction past turning on and changing between pounds and grams. I shouldn't have waited until I needed it to open it.
I should have listened to the other reviewers about the shoddy calibration of this scale
July 12, 2015
I should have listened to the other reviews re: the calibration of this scale. But I figured- "Eh what are the chances that EVERY scale is going to be off?" Well....apparently they all are. Since mine was off by several ounces and that's horrible when you are using it for mailing....well it's horrible for anything really- IT'S A SCALE! IT SHOULD BE CORRECT!So not a big deal right? Just calibrate the thing, but as one other reviewer mentioned- you need a 75lb weight to do this.Luckily my boyfriend is a body builder so he carries that size dumb bell in his back pocket.....but it was still a royal pain in the rear.I still feel like this scale is off by an ounce or so- at random times. I just don't have a lot of trust in it- so I always add an ounce to my shipments. So in the long run this cheaper scale is costing me more money.
What you would expect for $22
October 28, 2013
Questionable:The scale performs its function decently, however, the quality is lack luster. The scale doesn't sit flat on the counter or floor, it has a rock to it. The display is 'mounted' crooked in the display, so you can see right into the scale along half of the digital display. Lastly, don't pick up the scale on the edges, the top pulls right off!Good:I like the beep, lets me know when it has completed. Has an auto on/off if you forget to turn it off. I have just been using the battery and works fine with it. Shipped packages to South Africa, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, and US, from 2 lbs - 15 lbs packages and rates checked at home for USPS were what I paid at the post office. So it does what it is supposed to do, even if it was assembled poorly.
Worked well for over a year.
September 12, 2012
I used this scale for my eBay shipments on a daily basis for approximately 16 months. I weighed everything from single tubes of lipstick to boxed ceiling fans, and the scale worked perfectly every time. When I used it for this morning's shipments all was well, but when I went back to weigh a package later the numbers were fluctuating all over the place, even before placing the item on the scale. It probably needs to be recalibrated, but this requires a precise weight of 75 pounds, which unfortunately I don't have.I figure I got my 16 months' worth out of it, but I won't be purchasing another. I opted instead for American Weigh Scales Table Top Postal Scale, Black.

Worked for 5 days.................
February 10, 2017
I've had this scale for 6 days, I have used it 5 of the six days. It is going back today as it quit holding zero last night. Problem is you turn it on and zero shows- then the weight starts decreasing. It doesn't stop at any particular place either, it will stop anywhere from -5 G to -160 G then it will beep and hold. After hold time is up it will change weight again and repeat. Again at a random weight. The maximum weight that has been placed on it is less than 14 Kilograms so I know I never over loaded it..I do like this scales function buttons on the side so I am ordering another one to replace it.If the next one works like it should I will change the rating.
Worked well for 2 months
January 4, 2015
I did love this scale, because the basics I needed it to do. I bought it about 3 Months ago and it came in very handy for weighing packages.A few weeks ago the scale had began to give me inaccurate weights. I never put anything more than 2lb on it (although you can) and it has, been in the same spot since it arrived.I'm kind of upset, but than again look how much I paid for it. WHAT YOU SPEND IS WHAT YOU GET! I OR Naw? Lol! I'm going to buy another, but I'm not sure if it'll be this same one.
Not the scale for me.
January 2, 2015
Overall, I can't get behind this scale for various reasons. One reason is this does not read in total ounces. If you need to know total ounces over 1 lb, you'll have to do the math manually as you are weighing. This is a big inconvenience for me. Also, if you are adding more and more of something as you are measuring, you'll have to add, then wait at least 5 seconds before the scale will update with the new weight. Many scales do not have this shortcoming. For readings in grams, I find the display rather confusing. It slides the first digit over underneath the "kg" part and the other units remain under "grams". For some people, these issues may not affect your use of this scale, but, for me it is a deal breaker.I will give it credit for having a fair price for a digital scale.
Starting to Hate This Thing!
October 13, 2014
I used another Weighmax for many years before getting this one and I was very happy with it. But eventually it became too sensitive to weigh big, heavy boxes and would often just show 0. So I replaced it with this new one thinking it would be the same. It's not unfortunately.Overall, works pretty great. My 2 complaints, which I did not have with my original Weighmax are:1. After you turn it on, it takes too long to tare to 0. I guess "too long" is subjective and really, it's only about 4 seconds. But it's kind of annoying when you have to turn it on often. My original Weighmax tared almost immediately after turning it on.2. If you leave a package on it, it will continuously reweigh and beep until you remove the package. Sometimes I have a package on it, and then I have to go find something to add to it. Rather than remove the package just to put it back on, I keep it on there and it's quite annoying to hear that weighing beep every 10 seconds. Again, my old scale didn't do this. These are just minor complaints which do not affect the function of the scale. The scale works great in my opinion. But the annoyances are there.-------UPDATE: I have now been using this scale for a few months and I'm already starting to hate it and will be looking into getting another one (too bad the return policy on this has expired).1. The scale rarely ever goes back down to 0 when I put a package on it and then take it off. That means that it will continually beep until I actually hit the off button, instead of just going into auto-shut off. It's 1 extra step which may sound small but if you use this often, it adds up to a huge pain in the butt.2. When I hit the reset button with nothing on the scale, it doesn't always tare to 0. I can hit the reset button 5 times and every time it'll give me some different number. 0, 0.2, 0.4, 1.0. Keep in mind this is when there's nothing on the scale! Not a big deal when weighing a heavy package but definitely not reliable when trying to weigh something small (which thankfully I rarely do).3. The time it takes to tare to 0 when I first turn the scale on, about 4 seconds, is REALLY getting annoying. Especially since I have to turn OFF the scale often (see #1 above).I really miss my old gray Weighmax. I had that baby for years. This one, I already want to throw up against a wall.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
July 22, 2014
The beeping sound it makes when the weight is locked is SKULL PIERCINGLY annoying. What is worse is that it beeps every 5 seconds until you take the package off the scale. Scale worked fine the first few days besides the beeping. The real reason I have to return this though is that the scale will randomly display "-0.2" or "-0.6" and throws my weights off. The scale is on a level surface. and I have made sure not to rock the scale. Another negative about the scale is that the power button is on the side and you have to pinch between the LCD and the OFF or Tare/On button to turn it off or on with one hand, otherwise the scale is so lightweight it will slide off the table. I usually have to turn it on with one had because I have an envelope in the other. Two stars is more than fair for this scale, if it were $10 more I would give it a 1.
Not so much
April 22, 2014
for a few dollars more the My Weigh UltraShip 35 is much more scale. See it at http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BWFF5M/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0.I bought one of these with three of the My Weigh (we tend to go thru scales), hoping to save dollars,.. didn't work out this time. If it wasn't so cheap, I'd send it back, but the cost of shipping kills the idea.I tried weighing 25 screws so I could calculate to see if the bag of 2000 weighed enough - - this one could not register the weight (it stayed at zero),.... the My Weigh gave me the weight of only 5 screws, then 25,... and I proved out the pack of 2000 comfortably.I can't address its accuracy at larger numbers, but the other scale gives you a lot more control (metric/ etc etc) & a quick tare button that just didn't seem so easy with this one.

An awful update to a good scale. I owned a weighmax scale for years and had absolutely no problems with it. This one, however, has issues. It beeps...constantly...when something is on the scale. Every 5 seconds...beep...beep...beep. And it's HORRIBLY inaccurate. When I remove the item from the scale, it leaves either 2-4oz on the scale, and keeps on beeping.

November 1, 2015
At first, this cheap scale worked well.......... well, I only weighed one item for mailing via USPS. Turned it off ... very very very cheap on/off buttons ( !!!!!! ). Two weeks later, needed to weigh another very small package.... damn thing wouldn't "turn on".... with either the 9v battery power source OR ( ! ) the A/C plug !!!!!!!!!! You gets what you pays for... and if its "cheap", its "CHEAP" for a reason. Stay away.P.S. after having bought severla THOUSAND items on line, this is my first product review!!
Nicely packaged, custom box
May 7, 2015
AVOID THIS PRODUCT! VERY DISAPPOINTING! Nicely packaged, custom box. BUT....followed the instructions, removed the foam padding from inside the scale plate, installed Battery (which was included), plugged it into power it up, etc. No matter what we placed on the scale it displayed 0.2 oz. and then after 3 seconds (of wrong weight) it locks it in as the accurate weight. Very lightweight, and cheap construction as well. Returned today.
Completely Off
March 2, 2014
I bought this because it was a 75lb scale for a good price. As soon as I received the item I took it out of the box and tried it out, but it was not at all a good value. The top would not stay onto the bottom, it would keep tilting which means it would not weigh items correctly. I don't think it would've weighed items correctly anyway because the weight was always off and even after adding items to the box, it would never re-weigh. Those misplaced buttons on the side that looks just like stickers, seem to not be of any help. I only kept this scale for one day and returned it. I would not recommend.
Poor design
December 26, 2013
I'm keeping it because I cannot find a suitable replacement, but the one we had prior to this one was much more user friendly.Lacks several functions. Does not re-weigh if you add to the load. You have to remove and replace the load to get an accurate reading.Buttons are inconveniently placed on the side of the unit instead of the front, where you can see them easily.
Didn't work and paid money to return
September 19, 2011
75# Digital Postage ScaleThe scales appeared to have been packaged well for shipping so I was surprised when I set the scale up and it didn't work. The display came on but it didn't register any weight. I tried recalibrating but got an error message. Couldn't do any troubleshooting on it as no info was listed on either the manual or the mfg website. I emailed the mfg but got no response. I returned the scale through Amazon. It arrived via UPS and unfortunately we don't have a UPS store in our town. Amazon paid for return shipping via UPS, but I had to pay a $5 handling fee to a local store to send it back. Bummer to have to do on a $23 item and nothing to show for it. If I had a working scale could have figured out how much to send it back USPS. : )
