Five Star Reviews: | 64% very nice humidor May 5, 2017 it's a nice humidor but i don't believe the construction is to solid there are many gaps.some of the wood strips where the humidor lid is looks loose and i feel like humidity can escape through the gaps also it does come with magnets but the magnets are hidden in the wood so that is awesome, overall it hold humidity very well so i am happy with that as you can see on the hygrometer it reads 69% the boveda pack is a 69% so it's just right . great great great Since I've recently found a few rather nice cigars that I've really enjoyed November 8, 2015 This is my first humidor, as I've always been just a casual cigar smoker over the years. Since I've recently found a few rather nice cigars that I've really enjoyed, I thought it was time that I picked up a humidor to store them, as I would previously only purchase one at a time and smoke it immediately. I did my research on how to season it, followed through, and so far, it is doing it's job, and keeping the levels just where they should be. I live in an area that has high humidity levels almost year-round, so its been in the 68-69 range, and has held steady. Its well made and seals very well, due to the hidden magnets within the lid. Its also quite nice to look at. Maybe there are other, better quality humidors out there, but for me, this one perfectly suits my needs, and I'm very happy with it. Perfect Humidor for the starter and/or non frequent smoker June 15, 2015 PERFECT HUMIDOR.Seals VERY well, actually so well that the humidity reached 80% and I had to air it out and adjust my humidifying process.DIRECTIONS: there's a magnetic disk that holds a sponge. all you have to do is add some water (distilled preferred) and after the sponge soaks it up shake off the excess water and simply attach it to the magnetic backing like in the picture. That's it! It's kind of common sense really....The magnetic seal around the opening really works and there is zero air in between. I tested this with putting my phone in the humidor with the flashlight app on and going into my bathroom without the lights on and closed the humidor. absolutely zero light leak coming out of the box.Wood is good quality too.Seasoning the box just means getting the wood inside humidified, since it's wood it will soak up any humidity obviously. many ways to do this, some people wipe the box down inside with water, some people leave a shot glass of water inside over night, etc etc.Don't be intimidated by properly setting up this box, it's very simple just use common sense. You will find that the sponge disk might humidify the box too much. I bought a hygrometer on ebay for $1.40 and using double sided tape attached it next to the sponge disk. it read 80%! aka it works too well in the humid summers of VA. Go with other humidifying devices that include "2-Way" so that if its too humid it will lower the humidity etc. Good humidor for a casual cigar smoker February 14, 2015 I have been using this humidor for about three weeks now, and I am satisfied so far with its performance. After three days of seasoning the humidity has stabilized at 72% humidity. I am using the supplied disc humidifier, two quarters of a humi-care black ice set, and one drymistat tube. I live in Vermont, where it is very cold and dry at this time of year. The seal is good, it has a nice finish, and is big enough to hold more than enough cigars for a casual cigar enthusiast. For the price, you can't go wrong. Fantastic little humidor! June 3, 2014 I bought this for travel. I wanted something that would travel, but was a real humidor. It took five business days to ship door to door. When I received it, there was a small, but noticeable mar on the finish of the top - not deep enough to feel, but you can see it. I decided that it wasn't a big deal, particularly since this thing will see some travel and will likely experience more dings. If it gets to really bothering me, I could probably fix it on my own.It took about a day and a half to season. I used a light wipe down with a sponge semi-saturated with distilled water and mopped up any accidental drops with a paper towel, then left the sponge in, sitting on a small plastic bag. It sucked it right up in a couple of hours. I didn't refill the sponge, but used it to re-wipe and left it in again. I repeated the process once more, for a third time, when the RH got down to 70%. I had to travel the next morning, so the night before I put in my own humidity element (the one that came with it is probably usable, but I stopped using those types years ago). That next morning, everything was perfect. (I know some folks don't approve of this method, but it's always been effective for me without any adverse effects, assuming you're careful with the amount of water you use.)I was a little concerned about the seal, which felt tight, but it seemed like there were a couple of gaps in the Spanish cedar lining on the lid when you opened it up and looked inside. False concern. It's plenty tight - no worries, there. It holds at whatever RH humidity element you put in there. It is a pretty box, although a little dark for my tastes, and difficult to see the grain from more than a few feet away. The magnetic seal is nice. It would be very unlikely to open during travel. The outside dimensions are 8 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 3 1/4". Inside dimensions are more like 8" x 5" x 2 3/4" (maybe slightly more), giving it a volume of between 110 cubic inches and 120 cubic inches, if my math is correct. You might be able to get 10 to 12 Churchills in there or maybe 15 to 18 Robustos, but there are websites that can help you figure that out using the humidor's dimensions and the length and ring gauge of your cigarsI will admit that this thing is not the finest humidor you can find, but for $20, it is a steal and is plenty sufficient for storing sticks in a fairly classy way. All in all, I have to say that I'm quite pleased with my little humidor. Nice box. Maybe too nice for travel. December 27, 2013 I bought this to hold just the few cigars I keep at home. It's really nice red cedar inside and dark mahogany outside, nice but not fancy.Pros: Closes securely. Great-smelling cedar interior. Nice finish. Not fancy. Inexpensive for what you get. Clever magnetic closure. Nice magnetically mounted humidifier inside.Cons: No humidity gauge. This is a really nice little box. Hardly a travel box: there's no handle or way of carrying it easily and I'd hate to beat it up, it's just too pretty, without being at all gaudy. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong. Only thing is, I think for every humidor you really need a humidity gauge. But for what you save on this box you can get one.It was easy to season with distilled water, took about two days to stabilize at 65-70% humidity. Then just add some solution to the included humidifier disk and attach that to its metal plate inside the box lid. It closes securely enough that it's actually a little difficult to open. Better that than not sealing well. I'd recommend this box to those looking for a small, budget humidor that won't look ugly even in a nice setting. | 56% Humidor Humidifiers July 22, 2017 These drymistat humidifiers do a nice job. Seems to be more consistent than the other options out there. This is second time I've bought these. They lasted ... April 24, 2017 This is second time I've bought these. They lasted me about 18+ months last time before the crystles wouldn't do their job any more. Cannot say enough good things about these simple yet effective humidifiers April 23, 2017 Cannot say enough good things about these simple yet effective humidifiers. They keep the cigars maintained beautifully in my humidor without much maintenance at all. They work great, but make sure you use 2 at once ... March 26, 2017 They work great, but make sure you use 2 at once if you have even a medium-small humidor. One isn't enough. Does their job. October 9, 2016 2nd time ordering these things. They work perfect holding my small humidor to around 70%. Could not be easier September 1, 2016 Trying to maintain the correct humidity in a humidor can be trick. Take the guess work out by buying a few of the Drymista tubes! Fill them up as needed and place them in your humidor along with your cigars. Done. I recommend using filtered water because I don't like the idea of evaporating tap water chemicals like chlorine soaking into my cigars.I use 2 tubes for a box of cigars but given that they are designed to maintain 70% humidity you should be safe adding more as they won't over-saturate your stogies. | 80% There are no reviews yet | 59% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% Quality feel on a good looking box August 19, 2017 Received on time. Well packaged with no shipping damage. Impressive look. Seal feels solid. It is almost hard to open from the hidden magnetic seal system. I gave food stars due to lack of a how to season set of instructions. Good solid product - wish it came with instructions or ... May 18, 2016 Good solid product - wish it came with instructions or description inside. Would have thought it had a seal, not just a lip. Wondering if any box with a lip would work as a humidor Great Choice for a New/Infrequent Cigar Hobbyist May 17, 2015 I am an infrequent cigar smoker and don't tend to keep many on hand at any given time. With that in mind, this is an excellent humidor. Keeps my cigars fresh and looks great. I use humidity packs rather than the piece that came with it. Also, can't beat the price. I thought it was pretty nice March 13, 2014 I got this to give out cigars to some of the men at my wedding, and I thought it was pretty nice. I really don't know anything about humidors or cigars, but I think the look was very luxurious and the magnetic closure was good. I gave it to my father in law at the end of the night, and he seemed to like it. good basic one for just few times a year cigar smoker December 29, 2013 I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He doesn't smoke cigars that often, may be on holidays or so. I read the reviews and thought it would be a good basic one for his desk; and if you don't wish to spend a ton on an item that isn't use a lot. It smelled great, very woody and cigary. I know basically nothing about cigars. It has a strong magnetic lid. You do have to attack the humidifier thing to the inside lid, it doesn't come glued on. I also got one of those tubes that keep it at like 70% to help it. I also dought it'll hold 10 nice, big cigars but if you don't smoke super often and don't have many it'll do. Also it did have a made it China sticker on the bottom. Not surprised but didn't care that much. Over all happy.Note a few days after I bought it, the price did drop down to like $10 and I spent $30ish on it so I was a tad upset about that. | 16% don't hesitate to buy these, they are great May 17, 2017 Good product. Other places are selling for double the price. get these, you won't be disappointed. Over all its okay. I just order a second set 5 minutes after I received them. try it ,you'll like it I saw the following evaluation, everybody says this is a good product and receive it after use, I think they said is right, I am very happy. These tubes do a great job I am just not sure what magic makes ... March 31, 2017 These tubes do a great job I am just not sure what magic makes them cost more than $4 for a set? 3/5 - Of all humidifiers in ALL price ranges 4/5 - Of all humidifiers in THIS price range There are better humidifiers for a bit May 14, 2016 TRUERATING™:3/5 - Of all humidifiers in ALL price ranges4/5 - Of all humidifiers in THIS price rangeThere are better humidifiers for a bit more, but these do the job. I need about 2 of them to maintain humidity in a 25 cigar box full of cigars. They are easy to start up and use and maintain humidity for a few months before I have to refill them with water. I like that they use tap water and don't need distilled. This makes it easier to maintain them over time. I have 4 of them in my 100ct humidor and they do a good job keeping the humidity 67-68 (where I personally like ... January 21, 2016 So I've been using these for about 2 years now. I have 4 of them in my 100ct humidor and they do a good job keeping the humidity 67-68 (where I personally like it). I have to refill them about once a month and I have a Boveda 69 in there to absorb any excess and make sure it never creeps up over 70 (the Boveda has lasted the whole 2 years like this). The downside seems to be that the Drymistat sticks, after 2 years of use, no longer work. When refilled the gel doesn't seem to absorb water any more and they have mostly become sticks filled with water...which I do not want in my humidor. Love it. September 24, 2015 Might just be the best invention since the wheel. If you are like me you let your Humidor run out all the time. These little guys boost it back in shape before you can ask for a second cigar. Seems to work... February 10, 2013 I am on the fence with this product. One of the major gripes I have read is the packaging. It did indeed come in a plastic baggie, which didn't bother me in the slightest. Both tubes were in great sealed condition, no leakage or damaged containers. It would have been nice if there were some instructions for those that don't know how to use the product, a quick internet search fixes that. And yes you use the cap that has the holes in the end, if its leaking, you put too much water in it!My tubes came pretty full so I didn't have to add much water, and I did go ahead and add distilled water even thought it's not a requirement, I had some laying around so why not.I really like that these are the size of a cigar, so you don't take up much space in the humidor, and you can place them throughout for a nice even spread of humidity. My biggest issue right now, and a huge one, is I am not sure if they are working. I just ordered a new digital hydrometer to replace my analog one which I think is way off. As of now it reads 60 RH which is a bit lower than I want. I will update once I get a more accurate hydrometer. In the end I really like the idea behind this product and hope that it is working for me, 4 stars assuming it is, will adjust later if needed. | 13% There are no reviews yet | 14% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% Decent, but not great. September 26, 2017 Overall nice product. I can't keep the humidity above 60% though, even after seasoning and inserting a 75% humidity pack. Smokey... February 10, 2016 This is decent for the price but the humidifier it came with is a little cheap. You have to stick it on with double sided tape that was provided. I got this for my dad for his birthday and it seems like it is good for short term storage of cigars. Three Stars February 8, 2016 Wish it came with directions. Not sure if I am storing my cigars correctly Peeling veneer, good inside. June 26, 2015 The inside looks good. The veneer, however, is peeling in multiple places. It is a cheap humidor, so I'm not going to take the time to send it back. Maybe their more expensive models are better built. Nice decoration... December 6, 2014 Nice little wood case and it's well worth the money but it's not much of a humidor, had a rock hard sponge that didn't soak up water to speak of, if you want a good looking decorative box this is a decent buy but you can find a better humidor almost anywhere. | 9% No better than the green foam thing that came with my humidor September 25, 2017 I mean I love the idea. I can never get my humidor to keep humidity. I know how to season it and actually went through all the steps again prior to installing these. I have a small shoebox sized humidor with 10 or so cigars at a time. I filled and put both of these in it and within 1 day humidity when from 80% (high from seasoning) to around 20%. I left these in, but ended up buying a sponge and I've been keeping it wet with distilled water and just left it in the bottom, that seems to work! ... but my humidor only stays at 60 not 70 like is stated but they kind of work September 15, 2017 Got the sticks but my humidor only stays at 60 not 70 like is stated but they kind of work. Has to replace everyone year July 14, 2017 I guess we have to replace it every year, after a year using, it starts leak badly boveda packs are a far better option for everyday use April 28, 2017 These don't have the open surface area needed for a box style humidor. I had 3 in a box with only about 20 cigars and it only maintained 60%. I emptied their contents into an old tray style humidor and it made a huge difference. I will say these work very well for travel humidors though. But for the money, boveda packs are a far better option for everyday use. It's not like they are an expensive purchase January 1, 2017 I received the humidifier tubes promptly and correctly. My issue with this is there is no information at all on what to do with them or how to use them or how long they work or anything? It's not like they are an expensive purchase, but I'd like to use them to the best advantage. Also, it's unlikely that I would reorder, not knowing anything about the product. We'll see! they were fine. So I added 2 Boveda packets (see my ... September 21, 2015 The tubes are ok. Just ok. They arrive already full and puffed with crystals, but I put them into my new humidor and....nothing. My hygrometer needle dropped all the way by the next day. I thought maybe there wasn't enough distilled water in the tubes. Checked. No, they were fine. So I added 2 Boveda packets (see my review) and then everything was ok. I don't know, maybe it was just me, but the tubes were just 'ok'. | 3% There are no reviews yet | 9% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 5% Nice looking but not very functional at all January 26, 2017 Nice looking but not very functional at all. The built in humidifier disk fell off immediately...and just doesn't work. We have to keep a shot glass full of distilled water sitting in this thing. Very unhappy with this purchase, as it was bought as a gift! The magnetic lid seal is nice, but no humidly device or hunidstast April 24, 2016 It is just a box. The magnetic lid seal is nice, but no humidly device or hunidstast. Does not include a hygrometer September 16, 2015 Buyer be aware: This humidor does not come with a hygrometer.(-2 stars) Looking at it now I can see that it isn't pictured. I just never thought a humidor would come without one of the main componets. Also this box is made in China (-1 star) Other than that it seems like a decent box. I'll update this review after it is seasoned and I purchase a hygrometer to verify humidity consistency.Update:Spent another 20 bucks to get a hygrometer (would've been cheaper to buy a box with one included) this box seems to keep a decent humidity level I can keep it at or around 70 for about 4 days before I need to refresh it. Mine failed to keep humidity - I tried everything April 8, 2015 I am so disappointing to be writing this review given how many good experiences others have had. The humidor is the perfect size for my needs, feels like it has a great seal, and is certainly Spanish cedar. However, after over a month of trying, I cannot get it to hold its humidity. I've tried 70% propylene glycol in the original humidifier, then again in a much larger humidifier I bought separately. I tred 85% Boveda seasoning packs (2 for 2 weeks). I tried tiny saucers of water. I tried the distilled water method once, then tried again, then tried a third time, waiting several days between. The third time, the wood did warp a little (which I don't fault the humidor for - that's what happens when you use distilled water too much). And yes, I had a very reliable hydometer that I recalibrated again just to be sure. The bottom line for me is that my particular humidor must not have as good a seal as it seems. Other folks are clearly getting better results, mine perhaps is just a dud! Over here in the U. S. A. ... August 11, 2014 Over here in the U.S.A., 6" x 9" x 4.5" means just that. Not 1/4" less in all 3 directions. I purchased these for a "stand" for a small display for a trade show. i.e., I designed around them, expecting 6" x 9". I'm sure they are some metric size from China, but seriously, don't just round off to the nearest inch. poor June 19, 2014 did not keep proper humidity, even after i put 2 humidifiers in it. waited 3 days and it never stabilized | 6% One of these came damaged in shipping and leaks, ... May 19, 2017 One of these came damaged in shipping and leaks, but that doesn't really matter because they don't really help hold humidity. They don't work April 21, 2017 Either we are doing something wrong, or they just don't work. It does not hold the humidity like the description says. I may have gotten duds - I had 2 of ... March 30, 2017 I may have gotten duds - I had 2 of them in a seasoned humidor without any cigars and the humidity plummeted. I put in a smaller boveda pack and it went right back up. For what it's worth I think the openings need to be bigger. Possibly a waste March 28, 2017 I can't seem to be able to tell if these make a difference. They seem to just be taking up space in my humidor. I took them out for a two week period and noticed no difference on my humidity vs a shot glass of water. After multiple cups of distilled water sitting in the humidor and staying at 70% with the water I thought it would be good. With August 5, 2015 Put 2 of these in with a dozen cigars in a Quality Importers Desktop HUM-25EL. After multiple cups of distilled water sitting in the humidor and staying at 70% with the water I thought it would be good. With just these tubes alone, the humidity will not stay above 60 percent at 75-80 degrees even without opening the humidor. (I monitor through the glass and have an electric and built in humidity meter.) After a few months, the tubes still don't need water added. I wish they would at least dry out and keep the humidity up. Try something else or buy 2 for every 25 cigars capacity. April 7, 2015 Put the two in my 50 cigar humidor (less than half full), Humidity dropped to 50%. Was using the Boveda 70% packs without issue. Re-seasoned humidor at 84% for a few weeks. Put these back in, and still back to 50%. Added several shot glasses of water with these and humidty went up to 80%. Was able to maintain 70% only with a couple shot glasses full of water in addition to these. I don't know if for some reason I need more of them, they are defective, or just junk. Never had an issue with the Boveda packs just got tired of having to buy 2 new packs every 3 months. My suggestion is to try something else or buy 2-4 of these for every 25 cigars your humidor can hold.Update- the included instructions said 2 per 50 cigars but I'm noticing the wording on the site now seems to reflect 2 per 25, though not directly. | 2% There are no reviews yet | 7% There are no reviews yet |

June 18, 2015 You get what you pay for. Used distilled water, saturated the inside and waited a day before putting my cuban sticks in there. Humidity never got to where it was supposed to be. Quality control is not good - shipped half the humidity disc? June 12, 2015 NO quality control - Humidor disc for inside arrived with the entire back piece missing - just foam. This is not they way they are made Please do not purchase. Poorly made. March 13, 2015 I don't typically take the time to write reviews good or bad, but I haven't had a product simply fall apart before. Please do not buy. It's too late for me to return the humidor, but I just starting using it a couple of weeks ago and it literally fell apart. I seasoned the box with a damp rag and let the soaked humidor sponge sit overnight and the next morning 2 of the joints separated and the box laid there in pieces. I have never had a humidor do that before. Save your money and shop somewhere else. | 13% Want to completely waste your time? If so, buy this product. It will definitely waste your time and money ! September 26, 2017 WORTHLESS !! WASTE of time and money. Product arrives in a slimy plastic wrap with no instructions. I went online and carefully followed what instructions were available, Almost impossible to fill the tube with any distilled water and when I was able to add ANY distilled water, humidity level in my humidor decreased to 67% in a matter of a few days. I added a second Drymistat and it did absolutely nothing. I now have to make a trip to my quality cigar store 30 minutes away for a quality humidifying device. To make matters ever WORSE, Amazon tells me this product does NOT qualify for a return. What a piece of ****. Arrived in a gooey ooze. August 30, 2017 My tubes arrived covered in a gooey ooze inside a sandwich bag. Not sure if they were broken or that is the way they are supposed to be? First time so not sure how to use these. No instructions were provided, but from what I read you were supposed to add water and place them in a humidifier. I cleaned them off in water but they still seem to be leaking something similar to the consistency of petroleum jelly. Humidor came in broken August 13, 2017 The shipping was great, but unfortunately the packaging was not up to par. The humidor arrived crushed about a fourth of the way down. It was crushed so badly that tye tubes were cracked and the water would constantly leak out underneath the refill line. Both tubes were broken in the same spot, so they are both unusable due to the liquid leaking onto the cigars. I would not recommend this humidor because it is also non-returnable. Couldn't provide enough humidity for me September 9, 2016 This thing just can't keep the humidity level even with two sticks in a small size humidor (up to 25~50 cigars) with only 5 cigars in it. removed the seal cap per instruction online, and put the vented cap back on and the crystals are at the right levels, but still humidity plummeted to low 60%. after giving it the benefits of the doubt for two days, i switched back to the old generic puck. if this worked for you great. but it just didn't work for me.gonna try something else. Doesn't work! June 16, 2016 Useless! I have a size 50 cigar humidor I used both tubes in humidor with 15 cigars and never brought humidor above 60%. Whats the point? Not sure why all the good reviews. Im using them as extra humidification since ... January 25, 2016 These really don't do much at all. Not sure why all the good reviews. Im using them as extra humidification since the winter weather in Massachusetts is draining the humidity out of my humidor. I have a small humidor, about 300 cubic inches. At first I added one to it while keeping the other humidifier I already have in. No help. I then added a second one and still not much help. The two combined only raised the RH about 1 or 2%.
