The top opening up is a nice bonus if you have smaller items
August 1, 2017
Accurate and does the job. The top opening up is a nice bonus if you have smaller items, envelopes, or folders you need to weigh often. The separate scale reader helps to see clearly instead of other scales that have the numbers attached to the main scale unit. The good thing about this scale is that you can easily change the weight units to both Kg and LB. It is also portable because you can use the included batteries to move the scale around, or save batteries and plug the scale and use power. The only con for me is that I do wish the scale was a little bit larger because I use it mainly for weighing boxes. Sometimes when I have very large boxes, I have to make sure the whole box is completely on the scale and not leaning to one side, in order to get the accurate weight.
Accurate Enough And Easy To Use
July 5, 2017
I've certainly used general purpose scales in the past, but this was my first experience with a shipping scale, and I have to say, it does the job well for its price point. The base itself is not too big, so the long cable to keep the controller separate is very helpful. The accuracy isn't perfect by any means, but it's accurate to about a tenth of an ounce, which is good enough for shipping purposes. I've read in other reviews some issues with power saving mode kicking in, but I'm not doing enough shipping at this point for that to be an issue for me. Overall I'm really happy with the product, as it will very quickly pay for itself in saved shipping pricing.

I have a small digital scale, but is fragile and its range was limited. My wife has begun her ebay career, and needed an accurate scale which would measure weight ranging from less than an ounce to over 100lb. This scale fits the bill, and she loves it !! The manufacturer says the scale can measure up to 170 lb...have never tried that, but did weigh a few objects over 30 lb, and this scale matched the scale at the post office EXACTLY.The scale is small enough to fit in a desk drawer, and the fold out upright sides corral those objects that are hard to contain,
Awesome little shipping scale - especially for the price.
March 30, 2017
Great scale so far. I was concerned about the few negative reviews but I have weighed a few calibration blocks from other scales and this was spot on. Occasionally it will vary +/- 0.1oz for the same item, but that is more than accurate enough for its intended purpose (shipping) It does read pounds and ounces so it is super easy to enter into the computer for shipping. Tare function works as expected as well. It was also a nice touch to include batteries as well as an alternate method to power it. The warranty card says this scale carries a 10 year warranty so that is a bonus.
Perfect for mailing big boxes and paus for itself!
June 10, 2015
I checked out scales at local office shops and they were very expensiv. i decided to search online and it is a good thing I did. This one that reaches 110 lbs is perfect. You fdo not pwant to push any scale to its limits and I figure 50 pounds is my limit. I had worries that smaller plastic parts may be too cheap, but how robust do they need to be? I do not use the AC adapter northe USB cord. batteries work fine and they are included. The screen is HUGE, I can actually see it without my glasses. A nice blue/purple hue too, easier on the eyes than red. The wire connecting the scale to the readout looks like an RJ11 phone cord.At first I thought this would send data into the computer but I really do not want that. It's one more thing to go wrong. The scale is well built and I am very pleased with it. I would not hesitate to by it again!

August 23, 2014
Weighs accurately. A nickel should weigh 5 grams. So a stack of 10 nickels should weigh 50g on this scale, whether bare, or with a 3 pound wooden circle and the scale being tared. This scale does show 50g (and sometimes 48 or 52 with just the bare scale, as it seems lighter weights are slightly more off.) I also tried lesser increments (10g, or 20g,) and it was always within 0.1oz of the correct weight. The display being corded instead of on the device allows me to see the display even when something large is on the platform. I use this to weigh cats that are between 7-14 pounds and also will be using it to weigh kittens after one of our cats gives birth. I will post pictures.

Great compatibility on Linux (Debian at least)
October 6, 2017
Works very well in Linux. Texted in Debian Jessie with GIMP. I simply made a canvas the same size of the labels I was using. When ready to print, the print dialog using CUPS server had all the printer specific settings like virtually all the available label sizes, DPI resolution, halfttoning, print density, and print quality. When first setting up, the printer driver is available in the Debian repos and literally required no additional configuring after the “printer-driver-dymo” package was installed. Also, it seems that some of the annoying issues on windows based machines like unnecessarly spooling multiple labels through the printer when the rolls are switched is absent in Linux. I would defiantly try to find a package ready-made for your Linux distribution as opposed to building from the source code on the official dymo site. The build documentation is incomplete and I kept getting errors.
SDK and printer are awesome
September 29, 2017
Awesome. After dealing with a PTOUCH for years and thinking it was as good as it gets, I bought this because the software I'd written to drive the PTOUCH to make custom labels stopped working and nothing could fix it. I bought this, downloaded the C# samples, and was printing custom labels in, literally, 15 minutes. By contrast, the PTOUCH SDK was half a day and never quite reliable. Not only that, the PTOUCH labels tend to get stuck inside the printer, and the printer wastes a lot of tape to print a single label. The Dymo nicely presents the labels to you, and they are easily torn off.Hats off to the Dymo team. Very nice product, very reasonable price, and the SDK is awesome.
Love it!

Dymo makes great products that makes work or life better. The Dymo 450 works great in an industrial setting and office setting. Easy to use, prints quick, makes professional labels, and no messy ink/toner. Add an external HP Jet direct and you can network the printer. Labels are study and adhere nicely.

Hopefully I will never have to address an envelope again. Works very nice. My only problem is the rolls come with a sticker on the first label which means you have to toss the first 1-2 labels or end up getting it stuck in the mechanism. Even after removing the sticker, the glue stays on the label.

What a joy to have a printer for Etsy, Amazon and eBay that provides inexpensive goof proof labels. This has been a real timesaver.

Works well but no User Manual
July 31, 2017
The product did scan all the code I tried, even some products that were still in their plastic bag (very nice, I did not have to unpack them). Scanner seems to perform as well as other name brand (Symbol) scanner I have used. The default setting was automatic scan which for my application was a bit annoying. I was able to fix that by scanning one of the code on the sheets that came with the scanner but there was otherwise no user manual.I wish I could get a user manual to know how to use the RS 232 function...
Used in our elections
May 19, 2017
I am a member of our county electoral board -- a rural Virginia county. We use laptops with our pollbook installed to check in voters. That is, the laptop contains a database with search capability to lists all our registered voters. At each election, we have a small problem -- 4,5,6, 7 voters out of 4,500 -- with the wrong voter being checked in as a result of poll worker error. Most of our poll workers are older folks, not comfortable with computers. We ordered these scanners because, according to the software vendor, could simply plug it into the laptop and scan a voter's driver's license or voter ID card and the database will look up the voter, thereby eliminating operator error.WORKS PERFECTLY. Plugged in the scanner, no setup, started scanning. Our poll book errors are zero. We have six polls, two laptops per poll, 12 scanners plus two for training and spares. Not a problem and the poll workers love them.
I like this Barcode reader
October 15, 2016
I like this Barcode reader. I have had it for a day and am pleased with the unit. It should meet my needs very well. The unit is well build and appears durable. The stand that came with the unit is much nicer than the stand shown in the illustration, It has a flexible metal neck extension which very robust and I like the construction very much. I ordered this USB Automatic Barcode Scanner thinking the "automatic" meant the scanner would a) sense a object, b)turn on the laser, c)read the code, d)enter the number in a spreadsheet, and e)increment cursor to the next line. This scanner does not sense objects but can simulate that mode by having the laser on continuously (that is one option). It was simple to get to work: open a spreadsheet, place the cursor in a cell, plug the scanner in a usb port, place a barcode under the scanner, and pull the trigger. The scanner beeps when a code is read. I have Windows 10 and the scanner worked great, no issues. If you want automatic sensing, be sure that "automatic sensing" is in the scanner description.
Good simple scanner for the price - plug and play
December 18, 2015
I bought this as a replacement for an old wireless unit that was not operating properly and for which replacing the battery was difficult. This new scanner worked fine right out of the box. I did not do any adjustments and it put the bar codes and UPC codes directly into my documents or page forms when the trigger was pressed. It was a bit more difficult to get it to read the code but that (distance, angle, etc.) will undoubtedly improve as I get used to it. It doesn't appear to have an on/off switch and since it is drawing power from the PC I will have to get used to the green light all the time until l play with the settings. The stand is not 'optional' as the listing states but is included with every scanner and it does not look like the one pictured but has a metal flexible riser with a flexible hose cover if you chose to use to hide the metal part. The instructions are very minimal so I am glad I didn't have any questions, just plugged the cord into the USB slot on the back of my desktop and I was good to go. I may experiment with changing the sound it makes by scanning one of the many barcodes on the enclosed sheet that is used to change the settings. Don't miss the old wireless scanner because I only use one at my workstation and the cord on the new one is long.
Good
July 30, 2015
I use this in the home office so the workload is lighter than say a department store. The instructions that came with this product are virtually non-existent but there is enough there to get you started. It comes with a barcode command sheet to scan for setup and configuration of the equipment. I would like to have seen an online reference or resource to be able to print another key sheet if the original one becomes unreadable from damage or wear, or lost. The scanner works well and has no problem reading the labels that I use. It does come with a stand that, doesn't seem to hold the scanner very well and the base is a little light so if bumped or jarred ever so lightly, the base would tip over or the scanner would fall off. This is easily fixed with a small tab of Velcro to secure the base to the work surface and a rubber band is enough to hold the scanner to the stand. All in all, it was a good purchase.
The manual made programming easy once you played around with it a little
September 10, 2011
On September 1st, 2011 I ordered a USB Automatic Barcode Scanner Scanning Barcode Bar-code Reader with Hands Free Adjustable Stand (Black).  As I've mentioned before I used to have my own business reselling products on Amazon.  When listing products on Amazon I spent a considerable amount of time manually entered UPC's.  When I received bulk quantities of a single item manual entry wasn't an issue but as my business grew I was taking in more miscellaneous lots so finding a time saving solution was important.  I selected this barcode scanner based on price and reviews.  The manual made programming easy once you played around with it a little.  This saved me so much time I instantly fell in love with it.  I wasn't sure how on earth I survived without it.  I used this for many years and it always worked perfect.  Obviously if you need to be more mobile a cordless gun would be better, for me it worked great having it on the hands free stand plugged into to my computer.  Not only did I use this for scanning product UPC's but I also used it to scan in tracking numbers from shipping labels.  I still have this and long to be scanning barcodes.Seller: 3rd Party MerchantCondition: NewPurchase price: $52.99 (Shipped)

Battery fit & function problematic
July 25, 2017
Battery compartment is very tight, harder than it should be to get batteries in/out, and the first time I had reason to change them: when I turned the scale on, all display LEDs were on, and would not settle to tare the scale to zero. Taking out and putting in fresh batteries, no improvement. Taking out batteries and plugging in, normal function. A few days later, because I couldn't believe it was really dead, more battery wrestling (and verifying that batteries were OK with flashlight test before adding to scale, including the ones that hadn't worked the first attempt), got it back to function. So the battery compartment is poorly designed (too tight a fit) and something inside is prone to poor connection after less than a year of use. Not so great.

June 15, 2017
Very good and extremely accurate scale to the 10th of an ounce. Small but not too small that you can put luggage or large packages on it. I would have given 5 stars but if you are on battery power, it shuts off automatically after 90 seconds, which is good to save the batteries, but bad if you want to weigh out liquids or refrigerants and it shuts off, since when you restart it, it zeroes out.All in all excellent value for decent scale
Would purchase again!
May 24, 2017
The first scale that arrived was defective. Amazon replaced it and the new one works like clockwork. No issues, very accurate. I really appreciate the distance of the display from the actual scale. This helps with weighing bulky packages. The accuracy is spot on. I also like the flip up boards that hold floppy envelopes onto the scale for more accurate weighing. It took a while to choose a scale and we are glad to have picked this one.
Nice scale but I wonder about accuracy
May 10, 2017
After reading several reviews, it would seem that accuracy is an issue for most scales like this. I only wonder about the one we purchased because it randomly display a weight when there is nothing on the scale. I like the remote display. The only other issue I have had with this scale is when weighing shipping bags... The bags tend to hang over the side of the scale platform. Other than that, the scale seems to work well.
Good solid accurate scale and love the remote display. Would be 5* if it stayed turned on.
May 2, 2017
Works like a champ. Always accurate and really like the 'remote' display for weighing larger items.Demoted one star from a full "5" because it does NOT remain turned on even when plugged in to AC adapter, despite the listing say it did. Bit of a pain to have to turn it on and wait if you take more than a minute between weighing items.
Good value
April 30, 2017
Great value and quality, pretty accurate, but I wish their interconnecting cords were a bit better quality. They are a bit stiff and you can't keep moving the display around as you might need, because if the cord gets trained in one position, it will force the light display to go where it wants, or even flip it .Secondly, the display is pretty dim and hard to see. Dim blue on black background LCD with a narrow viewing angle.Other than that, it is practical and it's hard to beat the value.

Fast printing, once you figure out the settings
September 18, 2017
Works great once you figure out settings. Suggest to include instructions on how to print various types of labels.Labels could have template numbers printed on back to help with settings.Once you have the correct settings printing is fast and efficient
Works great
September 7, 2017
Nice for printing those envelope labels. Replacement labels are a bit high priced though. The postal labels are a pain to load and sometimes jam up the printer which doesn't allow you to open up fully and get the stuck label out. You have to work at it for a while to get it to release.
good label maker
August 7, 2017
Great label maker. I don't know what we ever did without it. I love that we don't need ink. We print gazillions of labels and this is amazing. Just wish we could get different colored labels
Ok, not great
March 27, 2017
I bought this because it went on a lightning deal so I did not pay much at all for it. I suppose if you only want to print skinny Stamps.com labels and ebay labels it is an alright printer but I needed something with more options. It is a decent printer but not exactly for my business. I used it two weeks and resold fore more than I paid, so I suppose they hold their value.
Like It
February 28, 2017
I like this label maker so far. It is fast and makes nice labels and has a lot of options. I do not like the size - it is bigger than it looks in the pictures, and I almost returned it, but decided to keep and I'm glad I did. I also think its a bit pricey. But, I use it all the time. I have not used the stamp option yet. I would recommend to anyone looking for a label maker. As for the controversy around having to buy their labels, well that is the case with many products like printers, etc., so it does not bother me, but I'm not using it as a business.

Helps me register products because my old eyes can't read those tiny numbers
July 1, 2017
Not a bad little scanner. I honestly needed it for work, but I find myself using it to enter bar-codes off of products when registering them. I cannot read these little serial numbers anymore! I have come across one bar code that it would not read (the s/n off of my Acer laptop) but it read a different bar-code of the same label. Like most of these imported items very little instructions but clear enough. It does come configured to automatically turn on and stay on as soon as it is plugged in which seems backwards to me, but easy enough to change. DON'T lose the sheet of setup codes.

May 16, 2017
Works well, but I'd like to change it's mode so that it only reads when I push the trigger. Currently it is on all the time and every once in a while it just randomly beeps and acts like it reads something random (even though no barcode is presented).I printed out a manual that supposedly goes with it, but nothing I do seems to change its behavior.I guess I'm unclear how to get it to enter programming mode.It is connected to my Windows PC with a USB cable.
No frills, but no major problems either
February 16, 2017
I bought this to use with Readerware cataloging software and after I followed Readerware's instructions to initialize the unit, it worked fine. There are essentially NO instructions that come with the unit itself beyond a set of bar codes that have 1-3 word titles. You have to piece together what you think you need to do and keep trying things. Some tidbits that might be useful: Physical assembly was easy once I figured out it was necessary to compress the plastic sleeve that goes over the stand's metal gooseneck. The design ensures everything stays tight once assembled, but it took a moment to figure out the screws could not reach their mating holes without squashing the plastic sleeve to make it shorter. I soon learned I had better success at scanning ISBN codes on books when I covered over the Price code block that is next to it; and I also had much better luck scanning codes from CD / DVD cases when I took the printed sleeve out of the vinyl jacket. I suspect that reflections off the clear vinyl were confusing the scanner. I did find that if I did not have the stand angled at just the right amount then the weight of the cord pulled the scanner out of the stand. Unless you are scanning a lot of items continuously, I have found it easier to just grab the scanner and pull the trigger rather than try to hold the target under the stand-mounted scanner. Frankly, for the price, I am surprised at how well it works.
Awesome Scanner!!
February 17, 2016
I am so happy with this scanner. I would have given a 5 star if there were instructions in the manual. All it had were settings and specifications. I even had to look at the picture again online to be able to assemble the stand and guessed the installation of the scanner. If familiar with how it works tho, you'll eventually figure it out. I tested the gun and it worked as expected. Had to do a couple of restore defaults as I played on some of the bar code setup. Again, not understanding what they were for, it took me time to figure out how to set up the hands free code. Just did a trial and error and again it eventually worked. Other than those I mentioned, the scanner had a real bright light that quickly recognizes any bar code. The sound has a very loud tone. Very audible but I may also need to see how to lower it down so I can still use it at night. Overall, for my online retail purpose, I am so satisfied with it so far (I just got it yesterday so I do not know yet its durability tho it seems sturdy). Before purchasing, I also researched on other scanners. I was wanting to get a bluetooth scanner so I can have it wirelessly. But thinking about it, I may not need it wireless since I will have to be next to the computer anyway while I scan so no point. Plus, the price is amazing - unbeatable; I bought it with Prime so I got it with 2 day FREE shipping. Hurray!!
works well for me
January 10, 2014
I received this barcode scanner today and was able to put it to use within a matter of minutes. I was a bit worried after having read some of the other reviews and even more so when I saw that the unit did not come with any useful instructions, but I was able to get it set up and working very quickly.Like some other reviewers noted, the unit that arrived was a bit different from that pictured, but not substantially so. The stand was easy enough to put together, but it is very lightweight and the scanner does not snap into it, only rests in the holder. That means it will easily fall out. I fixed this problem with a rubber band. The lightweight nature of the stand means that it will tip over fairly easily. That could be a problem if used in a location where it might occasionally get bumped. The stand I have came with two holes in the base where you could attach it to a board or wall. The unit seems to not be particularly fragile. After using it for a few moments I left my desk and one of my cats knocked it to the floor (I hadn't put the rubber band on it yet). I picked it up and kept right on using it.The included cable attaches to the unit in a way that would make it somewhat difficult to remove. The other end is a USB connector to plug into a computer. No software came with the unit, but when I plugged it into my computer (running Windows) it searched for and found the required driver. I then opened the program with which I wanted to use the scanner and put the cursor into the area for the barcode. I placed an item with a barcode under the scanner and it read the code and entered the numbers into the program's field. Some reviews have said that their units were not automatic, but mine is. There is a sensor on it that recognizes when something is placed near the scanner. The light then comes on and scans the item. When the item is removed the light goes off. There is a green ready light on the top of the unit to let you know when it is ready (on) or scanning (off). For the most part the scanner did well with the 200 or so items I initially scanned. It usually read the code quickly regardless of whether it was "up" or "down." It also did well based on how far away the item was from the scanner. I usually tried to keep it at a couple of inches, but it may have ranged from 2 to 6 or so. The angle also didn't seem to matter too much. (In other words, it didn't have to be perfectly flat to read the code.) Despite this success, every once in a while I would have to try several times to get the scanner to read the code. On a handful of items it wouldn't seem to read it at all and I had to enter the codes into my program by hand.On the whole, I am quite happy with this item so far. I am using it to enter a lot of items into collection databases and this will save me a huge amount of time. (The items I entered so far were all DVDs. I'll update this review if it has trouble with other items I plan to enter.)
Very easy to install, worked out of box, poor manual
December 3, 2012
I bought this USB scanner to work with my Quickbooks Cash Register Plus program from Intuit. The software indicates that only a Honeywell 1300 series scanner was compatible with the software, and that was $200. I decided to try this scanner at risk. I plugged it in, Windows 7 instantly installed the driver and I was up and running. Seems to work flawlessly with the Quickbooks software, so I'm really glad I didn't spend the $200 for the other scanner. The product seems fairly well built, but I'm not sure how long it would last with heavy or rough use, but for $24, that's what I would expect. The manual that came with the scanner might as well been written in Klingon. I didn't even use it and I'm not sure that I could if I needed to. If you have problems integrating this scanner with your system, be prepared to research on google. I was lucky and didn't have any problems. Provided it continues to work as it is now, I'd buy it again. It is supposed to have a motion activated sensor, but I haven't tried to even figure it out yet (bad manual).

I'm not thrilled with this printer. I went through a lot of labels trying to figure the setup out. I ended up buying a Zebra to print shipping labels (which is why I bought this). I guess I'll keep this one to print inventory barcodes.
Not the best user interface
March 3, 2017
Not the best user interface. I cannot find the utility that brings up the shortcut(s) for this printer. The default is 'SHIFT' + 'CNTL' + 'L', which is a very popular shortcut in Photoshop, so every time i use photoshop, this printer albel utility pops up. Very frustrating. Also, don't just quickly tear off the label once it prints or it will tear the label in half rather than at the perforation end. The print quality is very good and you can use several built-in templates to print a postal bar-code on the label as well. Haven't tried the stamps utility yet until I find out how to change the UI, using search on the 'Help' function does not help either.
Not as good as previous units

My printer will not form feed a label - form feed button does not eject a label. Cannot open printer enough to remove any possible paper jams. I got this printer to print Amazon product labels. Amazon does not provide the format of labels needed for the printer, so I cannot use the printer for the desired purpose.

Terrible instructions. No tech support number
September 28, 2017
IMPORTANT INFO FOR PEOPLE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS PRODUCT: Terrible instructions. No tech support number. The following is what I have found may be helpful on set up (cause it sure doesnt tell you any of this in the manual) You plug the scanner into your USB, on a Mac it seems to think its a key board and wants you to verify it, but anyway, moving along, scan (at a slight angle) the tiny bar code on page 4 at foot of page titled: 'enter set up', then go to the bar code selection and choose the one you want. Most likely 'reading mode' - multiscan, then open a text field in whatever program you want (Excell etc) and it will show the UPC code in that field. If you want to try this right now, just click on the 'customer question' field on this Amazon page and it will act as your text field. Scan something and the UPC will show in that field (your welcome)
Barcode Scanner Works Well, Stand Can't Be Assembled
April 18, 2017
Product works well with Windows 7-based POS system. But the stand for the barcode scanner can't be assembled, so if you're wanting the stand, it won't work (doesn't make a difference for me). But the barcode scanner itself works very well!
this is pretty much useless
March 23, 2017
I'm not a fan of the fact that in order to operate this, you have to have a small manual with "activation" barcodes. Since purchasing this, I've lost the manual and now, this is pretty much useless. I can't find a replacement manual online or anything to help.
It started out as a decent scanner, but it didn't last
June 27, 2016
This scanner did okay at first. It didn't necessarily scan barcodes instantly, but it was _way_ better than using my phone (which is what I'd been doing before). However, over time, it's had a harder and harder time scanning barcodes. It's gotten to the point that I'm lucky if it recognizes one at all. And I've only had it about 6 months. So, maybe I was just unlucky, but it seems like the durability of this particular scanner is not high. To replace it, I bought a more expensive one (the TaoTronics TTBS-012), and that one scans almost everything as soon as the laser hits the barcode (certainly faster than this one did when new and _way_ faster than it does now). So, it's a huge improvement, though I have no idea how well it will last.At this point, I'm inclined to say that this scanner is just too cheapy. It doesn't scan as well as a more expensive scanner would, and it didn't last. And all I've used it for is scanning the few books and Blu-rays that I get a week, not for anything super intensive, which makes me that much more leery about its quality. But maybe you'll have better luck with it.
Product Review. Product is not what is depicted in picture.
June 9, 2016
When viewing the main image for this product, one would expect the product to look as pictured. However, the item I received isn't as exactly depicted, see below for reasoning on stars given.-1 Star for stand not being as depicted/scanner does not sit properly on stand. To further elaborate, the stand is wired, made to bend which isn't so bad when first thinking about it. However, the scanner itself does not sit properly on the stand due to it being held together by a twisting washer that you self install.-1 Star for poor instruction manual provided. The manual itself only tells you how to hook up the scanner, it doesn't provide any information on how to put the stand together. In conclusion, I rate this product 3 stars, if I could rate it 2.5 out of 5 I would. I feel that anything below that is a bit harsh, considering the product does function as expected.
Ordered Two - Inconsistent!
May 26, 2014
I needed two of these but decided to order one and try it out before ordering a second one. When it came we gave it a test and it worked great! It required a little assembly and a easy-to-follow diagram was included.Based on the first one I decided to order a second one. When it came it was completely different! I wouldn't mind except the second one doesn't work near as well as the first one at reading the barcode. It is very frustrating to the point we have to take it out of its cradle and press the trigger to get it to scan the barcode.Just saying, if you order, it's a bit of a crap shoot:-/

Smaller than advertised!!!
July 17, 2017
This product is not 10" x 8" x 3", as advertised! It is actually 7 3/4" x 6 5/8" x 1 3/8". It may be a good scale, but I'm not sure if I will keep it. One of the main reasons I bought it was for the larger surface.
broke after 1 year, lightly use
May 29, 2017
I don't use it that often, really. Once every couple of week and small boxes, like 300gr per package. The number keeps jumping up and down. Starting it take a minute to stable.Eventually it stops working. I tried to change battery ( silly me, yeah, just a try, no harm) then plug it in, still it doesn't get up.It's not like I'm asking for 10 years of use. But as less as I used it, too bad.

NEED SPECIAL AAA BATTERIES!!!
February 3, 2017
I purchased this scale in September 2016 and it has worked great, but the batteries are low and the standard AAA Duracell batteries will not fit. The batteries that came with it are slightly smaller in diameter. I have never seen these skinnier batteries and can't find them for sale. Using the cord is not an option for me so this was not a good value for 5 months of use. If anyone knows where to find these batteries, I would appreciate the information as the scale works well.
Accurate in Grams, NOT in pounds/ounces.
November 9, 2016
Needed a scale to weigh pound/ounces for shipping packages under 10 lbs. Weighing in grams, the scale is accurate. In pounds/ounces, it is inaccurate. I have verified this by using calibration weights, and by comparing it to an expensive, demonstrably accurate Ohaus scientific scale, and to the UPS scale in one of their locations. I see no way of adjusting this. I have to get my weight in grams, then convert it manually to pounds/ounces.
Only for small packages and mail!
October 29, 2016
This item is poor quality. If a scale can weigh up to 110 lbs. it should be sturdy. But it is extremely small and wobbly and parts were broken when I received it. It is also plastic and doesn't seem strong enough. (That could be why the top section where you place the package was wobbly.) Please note: for small packages and mail, this scale would be fine. But the flat bed is only 7 x 8 inches. That's very small for packages weighing more and probably being larger because they weigh more.

Had to get a full refund.
October 8, 2017
I bought this in hopes to make labels for my candles that I'm making. I returned this the day I got it, and got a full refund. There was no issue with that part of the process which is why I give them two stars. However, as soon as I opened the package I immediately started putting everything together. There is a button on the right hand side that you push in order to rewind the labels, so you can take it out without having to cut the label. Well This button worked twice, and then after that never worked again. The only button that did work was the one on the front that feeds the paper out.Well that was no big deal to me, I thought maybe there is an easy fix to that, rather than having to send it back, however, the next thing I know it has a paper jam. So, to fix the paper jam, I take the bottom piece off of the printer, and there I see my paper jam. I fix that, and go to put the bottom piece back onto the printer, and now the bottom piece will not go back onto the printer. So, I packed everything back up, and started my refund.I have never in my life had so many issues with a printer like this. The place I used to work at had a printer similar to this one, and it was super easy to work, and I never had issues with it, so I new that this printer was no where worth the money when the second I got it out of the package I started having problem after problem.

April 11, 2017
It's okay, but mine broke easily when I was trying to correct a jam (when the roll ran out). I only had it about 2 months.
Good printer, lousy documentation
August 15, 2016
Printer is good, documentation on setting up the printer and using the printer is wholly inadequate. It doesn't follow some of the Windows standard conventions ... and the documentation definitely does not just TELL you how this software ... and the file naming and organizational structure are different.I was annoyed that part of the "documentation" was inside of the software, so I had to get the software installed into my computer before I could see the documentation, and part of the documentation was on the DYMO website, and part of the documentation was in written form included with the printer. But none of these sources of documentation were complete. Also, my printer came with a CD ROM, but my computer doesn't HAVE a CD ROM reader. So, of course I simply went to the DYMO website to get the software. But, confusingly, the name of the file that I ultimately had to download from the website ... was different from the name of the file that was on the CD ROM. Lots of wasted time trying to figure it all out.If you're struggling as much as I was, don't waste time trying to figure it out, just call their Customer Support.
frustrating stopped printing
June 23, 2015
I bought it in May, it is now end of June and too late to return product to amazon. It took hours to set up. Once I got it to work on my Mac it printed as expected and even got through one roll of 100 labels. Then yesterday it stopped printing. I contacted DYMO for trouble shooting and did trouble shooting. We could not get it to work. It was very frustrating. Spent hours trying to figure it out , then out of the blue today it wants to work again. Very frustrating. Glad I didn't toss it or smash it against the wall like I wanted to yesterday. But it sucks that it does not work flawlessly.just thought I'd share my experience incase you run into the same situation.
Have to change labels to print labels or stamps.
October 13, 2014
As a label printer it's great. It prints labels fine. As a stamp printer it's great too, prints stamps fine. As a label printer and stamp printer, that's where it sucks. You have to switch rolls when you want to print labels or stamps. If I want to send a letter I have to print 3 labels and switch out the labels to do so. I'm returning this.BTW, When I tried to install this my computer would see it but the software would not see it. I had to finally download a firmware upgrade for the printer in order to get the Dymo software to use the printer. That took a few hours.
Software not Mac friendly
May 7, 2014
Used LW products 15 years ago with Mac products and had no problems, so purchased one for personal use on Mac Mini using OS 10.9.2. Have had problems. First, instructions do not tell you that you must connect UBS directly into computer and not a hub, so that led to many frustrations finally cleared up by LW help desk. Second, machine will not print and keep getting message that it is off line. The only way to make it work is to restart computer. Suspect that software needs to be updated. I would return it but it does meet my limited needs, however one of these days I may throw it out the window.

The Yugo of scanners
September 8, 2017
No setup instructions, not even a guide for how to use the code book. Thank God for search engines and online videos. The stand is useless; the base is lightweight and topples at the slightest touch - and the scanner is not at all secure. I stopped bothering with trying to use the stand after about 10 minutes. The scanner itself works well enough but is cheaply made. When this one breaks or fails, which I have no doubt it will, I will be sure to avoid this one.Learn from my mistake and keep scrolling.

The item I received is not the item pictured. The stand is completely different and I can not figure out how or if it fits in the holder stand. I haven't tried sing it because of this and will return it
Started out great, getting worse by the week
April 18, 2017
I bought this scanner for my Amazon shipments. At first, it worked flawlessly. It made things go SO much faster and I never had any issues with it. However, after a month or two, it started being more finicky about scanning. It has gotten progressively worse. I am looking to replace it now. I can't stand having to click a billion times, zooming in and out, back and forth, fast and slow, lit and shadowed, in hopes that it will decide to scan something. Waste of money!!
Did not work on my MAC
April 5, 2016
I have searched the over 300 questions and answers with no luck on how to fix this thing. It worked for literally 1 day and I have not been able to get it do anything but give me these weird letters/characters in the Amazon product search box. Since I was just getting started with FBA I figured I would give it some time and do some searching to see if I missed something. Got busy, missed the return period and now I'm stuck with this thing. :(See attached screenshot of what pops up when I attempt to scan an item. It give the wrong item and odd looking characters. I downloaded manual ,which is useless as it provides no instructions...just a page full of bar codes. The seller assumes we are all bar code wizards. Sure wish this would have worked for me.
Surprise!
May 27, 2015
The one I received is a bit different than pictured when I purchased it and very different from the one that just popped up when I just clicked the link, so it seems that several different kinds of barcode readers are being sold under the same ID and this review may be meaningless. You may get a very different unit.Anyway, the one I got works OK, requires minimal setup and comes with some setup barcodes and almost know instructions. It is not auto-sensing, so you have to press the button every time you use it or leave it on all of the time, which can be annoying. It seems to read everything that may other barcode readers could but may be a bit slower and was managed to find readable barcodes where there were none, periodically sending arbitrary characters to the computer.Arbitrary characters popping up at random times make me nervous, so it's back in the box and I've ordered a different one from someone else.
poor scanner quality; seller good to work with.
September 18, 2014
I was very disappointed in these scanners. In fact, we returned both of them. We wanted them for daily use in our library, however, every time we turned the computer off, we had to unplug/replug the USB cord to get the scanner to work. Also, the user's manual was very difficult to understand - it seemed to have been written by someone who did not have a good grasp of the English language, so there were sections that made little to no sense. Along with that, there was no way to contact the manufacturer to see if they knew a solution to the problem. I was grateful that the seller was gracious and allowed us a return on their dime along with a refund. Thanks, Brainydeal for working with us!

Quit working right after 4 uses..
August 18, 2017
Terrible. I've only gotten to use it about 4 times and it has already stopped working correctly. As soon as its turned on it jumps around. It will not "zero" out. It jumps 40 grams up, then 60 down, then some up and down again. If you try to zero it out it immediately starts jumping again.I need PRECISE weights, and there is no way to get them with that item. Very disappointed, esp. after the many good reviews.
Did not work right from the start!!!
September 23, 2016
Plugged in everything according to the directions. All I get whn I turn the power on is it displays "Err" then turns itself off again. The directions say if it displays "Err" then the sensor is faulty and to consult the manufacturer. There is a 10 year manufacturer warrantly and I can send this brand new faulty device to the manufacturer to have it refurbished or replaced but I only paid $23 for it and it would cost me about $12 to send it to them. I don't see why I should foot the shipping bill when the manuafactured something that doesn't work right off the bat. Since I purchases this on Amazon, I'll just return it to them and they can pay the shipping costs. Also note, the item is very light weight and the base is small. The material is a very cheap plastic. I cannot imaging actually putting a 110 LB package on there and it being stable and the scale holding up under that weight.
Worked great for 10 months (less than 200 shipments)
August 23, 2016
Worked great for 10 months (less than 200 shipments). I understand the scale has a 10 year warranty but can't find any details on the company or how to get the item repaired.
6 Months of light use and now reading off by over 2 pounds. Seller will not respond to my messages and no phone number listed
May 20, 2016
After 6 months of light use, this scale does NOT read accurately. We ship packages daily through our business but only use this scale in rare occasions of a unique shipment. We discontinued our old scale in hopes that this scale read accurately. Big mistake. After confirming this from multiple other scales, also checking with other shipping companies within our warehouse section, this scale is no longer reading accurately. Over 2 pound differences. We have contacted the seller to give them an opportunity to fix this, seeing as the listing states "10 year warranty". Makes it tough when the seller won't even respond to your inquires. I also scoured the web to find a phone number for this "company" with no luck.
malfunctioning "scale" or struggling to come up with an accurate description of how incredibly crappy this machine is
February 23, 2016
February 23, 2016I am not sure what is more frustrating, watching myself continue to try and use this poorly constructed, malfunctioning "scale" or struggling to come up with an accurate description of how incredibly crappy this machine is.When I purchased it in June of 2015 it was the price and good reviews that got my attention. It actually worked fine for just about a month and a half. Then the tare function started to fluctuate from zero to values below zero and above zero. The only option is to turn the machine off and then turn it back on, at which point there are times when the display will stall and you have to repeat the process. Also, if I place an item on the machine, five out of ten times, the value will climb and fall until I turn of the power button and try again. In the bigger scheme of the multiverse, $25.69 is a loss that I can manage for purchasing this pathetic device. I did my part. I warned you.

Where is the 0 Star Option?
April 26, 2017
If NASA engineers were asked to develop a jamming machine that is guaranteed to jam on every use, be a pain in the butt to take apart and far worse to put back together they would win an award for ingenuity if they presented this devise of epic frustration to the scientific community. DYMO I bow my heads to you. Clearly with limited engineering know how you out performed NASA. You must have spent months saying - "not frustrating enough, go back and make it worse"And then Eureka you did it!!! You took a concept of a simple label writer, made every mistake possible and perfected the worlds first 100% guaranteed to work - label jammer. Well done - I applaud your efforts I used used your epic frustration device for five months now and it continues to amaze me. Each time I say "today it will work" But no - 4 labels later and I'm up to up elbows for 15-20 minutes fixing it again. The manufacturers of blood pressure medication must love you ... I however do not.Amazon if you are listening - I beg of you, give us the zero star option that we can use just once per year on the worst product ever conceived.
... little printer that for labeling does the work really good! However
March 30, 2017
This is a lovely little printer that for labeling was doing the work really good! However, I just got it last December and lately the labels they are constantly getting stuck to the point that Its just too much! Today the thermal unit stop working and the labels are all coming out blank... So I'm wondering is this nice little printer suppose to only work for a few months? I need a replacement!
Okay for Labels but printing postage - NO!
March 27, 2017
While I bought this a a means of printing labels and postage it works great for labels, but postage is a different story. Considering you ONLY can use DYMO postage labels but need to print a test label almost every time you stop and start again to use it, it's a waste of expensive labels and also if the labels mess up which mine has more times that I count now I have to request a postage refund from the stamp company which is a long, drawn out process. Printing labels or for that type thing it is great but for postage - it's cost me more in one month for error on printing postage than I have dealt with since I started shipping from home. For some reason the roll of blank stamp labels I have keep grabbing the next one in line which throws off the printing line and I wind up with it printing postage on a blank postage roll. You can't even see where it printed the postage so I have basically lost money because I can't prove it printed it incorrectly. I'm so done with it for postage and will probably list the machine on a second hand sight to sell as a label maker only. Would definitely not recommend for postage printing.
Do not buy
December 30, 2016
I purchased this label writer in October 2016 and it stopped working in December 2016. Just over the return period. This was a complete waste of money.I rarely write such harsh reviews but this product has completely failed me.
Absolute Waste of Money!
December 10, 2015
I have had this printer for three weeks. It installed without any problem and I was able to print one label and three stamps. Then I restarted my computer (iMac running El Capitan) - now the printer no longer works. I have removed and re-installed the software to no avail. I have search their online support files (which mostly focus on Windows issues) and found nothing. Even with the software re-installed, my Mac cannot find the printer. It just no longer works. I now have to go to the UPS store to get postage for the mailing I have ready to do. I have wasted money on this printer, on a roll of stamp labels and on money in an Endicia account I can not use.
False and Misleading Advertising. Does not work with Quickbooks.
December 16, 2013
The product is advertised that it works with QuickBooks, "prints directly from the software". The claim made on the box anyway. If you call there support line, they will tell you it does not work with QuickBooks 2013 or 2014. Out right false and misleading advertising.

dissappointed!
May 10, 2017
I ordered this scanner with stand specifically because the photo makes it look like you can put it in the provided stand and the scanner will be free standing. The thought here was I could set up the scanner and then swipe a cd/book or whatever under the scanner. Unfortunately, the stand that was included in no way works. The bracket does not fit the scanner as shown in the photos. I didn't bother trying the scanner out since the stand and compatible scanner is what I need. Sending it back to Amazon. I see in the latest reviews other people are having the same problem.
Disappointment In A Box
May 5, 2017
The item sent to me was not the same as the picture. The base was a different shape. The middle part was different, a tubelike plastic piece with a separate steel rod in the middle that didn't hook into the base properly. There were no directions. Sent it back. Junk.
BUY A BETTER SCANNER THIS IS SIMPLY NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION.
February 27, 2017
The scanner does not work properly it will not scan a UPC code without repeated tries and so frustrating. I can type it faster then it scans.. I purchased this in hopes to quickly scan a UPC barcode. But thought I could buy a less costly scanner but this was not wise. This scanner has alot of pieces to put together which also is annoying.
Won't work with my MAC
September 4, 2016
I have a few problems using it with my MAC and it is not working. My non MAC friends love it. I scanned the sheet with barcodes that came with the scanner, but it will not automatically scan my barcode as it is in the stand and beeping is continuous once it starts going. I want it to be silenced and just scan. For me it has no purpose the way it is not serving the purpose I intended it to us. I rated it based on this experience. If I got it working and able to save me time using it automatically, not continue to beep with a loud beep and then a more quieter beep (like a double continuous beep) I would rate it differently. I purchased it based on all the reviews. I may try giving it another try however. I would love to have a working scanner. I hope this review helps other MAC users when making a decision. I want to be more positive but with it not serving my purposes I can't.
Awful product, bad customer service
June 30, 2016
I previously left a review for this scanner a few weeks ago and somehow it was removed. I am not sure hows this was able to occur since my review was accurate and in no way inappropriate. The scanner did not work well from the start it wasn't really picking up the bar codes and I had to program it to constantly scan so that it work work decently. After a few hours of frustration it completely stopped working. I know that my review made it to the company because I received a message from them in broken English stating that "I am so sorry for this, and i wil replacement, can you withdraw the feedback? Thank you." I have yet to receive a replacement not that I wanted one anyway, nor did I remove my feedback. The next day they sent another message "Warm tips: please be sure to insert the usb cable with your devices interface well when using the scanner.Thank you!I reflect your problem to technical staff, they think may be you do not interface well. " They then went on to tell me how to properly interface. I am shocked by their customer service, the person handling customer feedback should be able to properly write in the language that is used. Second of all, I know how to properly interface, its not my fault that this is a crappy scanner. I recommend spending a little more money for a more quality product. I do not understand how they got my original review removed, hopefully this one stays.
Consistently Reads Barcodes Incorrectly
October 27, 2015
I purchased this barcode scanner to give my Bluetooth portable scanner a break. I use the Bluetooth scanner for sourcing in stores as well as scanning purchased items to list them for FBA. My Bluetooth scanner very rarely reads a barcode incorrectly--maybe 1 in 100 scans. Now, enter this scanner...Setup was quite easy on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop. Plugged it into the USB port, it auto-loaded drivers, and it was ready to go. It scanned ten or fifteen items with no problem, but then it began reading the barcodes incorrectly. I scanned several barcodes into Notepad to analyze the problem and found that it was consistently inserting a 7 in the middle of the code. Multiple scans of the same barcode continued to have the incorrect 7 inserted in the code. I tested this on multiple barcodes and found that it was doing this in about 19 out of 20 scans. Not a good average. Occasionally it would read a barcode correctly after multiple scans of the same barcode, but it was rare. I then scanned the same barcodes with my Bluetooth scanner for comparison and they were read 100 percent correctly.By this point, I was annoyed but still rather curious, so I installed it on another laptop and scanned the same barcodes again. Again, it began inserting a 7 in the middle of almost every scan.In summary, you get what you pay for, and quality assurance is obviously not a big consideration during the production of this cheap scanner. I will be returning it and either ordering a more expensive one or continuing to use my Bluetooth scanner for listing as well as sourcing. I am still rather curious about its obsession with sevens, but not curious enough to mess with this thing any longer.

POLY BAG COMBO PACK: 400 piece set - 100 each of 6x9 inch, 8x10 inch, 9x12 inch and 11x14 inch sizes.

CLEAR POLY BAGS WITH SUFFOCATION WARNINGS: Package contains clear self-sealing poly bags with suffocation warning written in English, Spanish and French. These polybags are made of very strong yet flexible plastic that won't rip and are 1.5mil thick (38 micron). Protect your merchandise from poor warehouse conditions including dust, dirt and moisture. Do not settle for lower quality bags with weak seals that leave your items at risk.

PERFECT FOR AMAZON FBA SELLERS: Meets Amazon's strict packaging requirements for merchandise to be stored in their warehouses. They make great bundle bags for private labeling or retail arbitrage. The bags are see-through and perfect for scanning barcodes that are inside.

STRONG SELF-ADHESIVE SEAL: The plastic polybags have a 1.5" (3.8cm) folding flap with a strong self-seal. Easily and securely close these storage bags using the quick peel and seal adhesive strips that ensure your products are safe. No heat sealers required. Choose between resealable or permanent (extra strong) glue seals. The resealable glue allows for reopening and reusing the bags, while the permanent glue is the ultimate in protection and cannot be opened without ripping or cutting the bag.

SUFFOCATION WARNING IN ENGLISH, SPANISH AND FRENCH: Note this is printed on the side without the 1.5" flap. Warning states "WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this bag away from babies and children. Do not use in cribs, beds, carriages or playpens. This bag is not a toy. Discard bag and any other packing materials immediately after removing product." Also in French and Spanish.
