The PERFECT day pack.
September 12, 2017
Perfect! Holds my 3L bladder and room for just enough for day hikes. Fits small first aide kit, my glasses in a case, snacks, head lamp, keys, but spray. Has three zipper pockets, dual zippers on all which I love. Extra mesh pocket. Its just exactly perfect for what I want to carry. Love it! Wish I had gotten it sooner.
Great hiking day pack
July 30, 2016
I've had this backpack for hiking purposes for about a year now, and I love it. I regularly use it 2-3 times a week. It's comfortable, lightweight, and has good amount of pockets. Like some may have mentioned, a couple of times the hose did leak where it connects to the bladder. However, I found that its usually because when I fill it or while I'm putting it in the backpack, it got slightly untwisted. Problem was solved by giving it a little tighten before putting it back in the backpack. I've taken this pack a variety of places and it still holds up well. The clasp/fabric in the middle is handy for hanging things off of with a carabiner, such as a solar powered battery charger.Overall I highly recommend this pack for someone who is looking for a lightweight, hiking day pack.

Very nice pack. We bought this for our grandson and he was thrilled.Update: 7/28/16. My grandson went hiking over the weekend and he called to say the pack worked great. The water bladder was awesome and the pack had a lot of room in it for his snacks!
Seems pretty good so far...
June 14, 2016
Definitely met and exceeded my expectations. I bought this to do some short (5-8) mile hikes. Holds my raingear (I live in Florida, after all...), an IFAK, snacks, extra socks, etc. I test filled the bladder to check for leaks, but it seemed pretty well sealed. My only complaint, albeit a minor one, about the bladder is the hose attachment. It doesn't snap in place, it just slips over the nipple of the bladder fitting. This could be problematic. If it does present a problem, I'll just replace it with a spare bladder I have in my extra gear pile. For the price, it seems to be a good product. After a decent hike, I will update as to it's performance.Edit 7/18/16After a number of hikes ranging from 6 to 12 miles, I've made a few observations:1) The bladder works very well, no leaks at all. However, the mouthpiece is not very good. I simply pull it off to get a good water flow.2) The hydration bladder basically sits in a smaller pouch in the main compartment with no insulator between it and your gear. Water gets warm very quickly. I solved the problem by fabricating an insulated Mylar pouch for it. Works well, keeps my beverage frosty way longer.3) Shoulder straps could use a little more padding. I added some from a spare armor plate carrier4) I wish the part that goes against your back were vented with mesh. It would definitely help keep you a little cooler.Overall though, this pack is good value for the money even with the few observations I've made about it. I definitely don't have any buyers remorse, and would recommend it.
Nice for the price.
February 3, 2016
I purchased this pack to take hunting. I chose Multicam because it matches the rest of my kit. It seems to be well made, and it was the right size to hold an afternoon's worth of supplies (water, food bars, IFAK, small binoculars, spare ammo) without becoming bulky or cumbersome. The metal zipper pulls have a tendency to jingle like sleigh bells, but a bit of tape around each pull was enough to solve that issue. Of course, if you're not in an environment where silence matters, then this probably wouldn't bother you at all. Also, I am 6'3'', and have a 38in. waist. The belt on this pack fit comfortably, but I did have to let it all the way out. The chest strap fit with no trouble, and I found the side straps to be comfortable as well. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I'll post an update here in the fall, after I've taken it on a few more trips. And for you survivalists and preppers out there, I think this pack is the perfect size for a "get home bag". Put some emergency supplies in it and keep it in your car!
The 3 liter capacity bladder was perfect for my 8 hour hike up Mount Elbert
August 17, 2015
I am very impressed with the quality of this pack for the price. After a couple weeks of researching generic hydration packs online, I finally landed on the G4Free hydration pack.I took this pack on a week long hiking trip through the Colorado mountains, and this pack served me well. The 3 liter capacity bladder was perfect for my 8 hour hike up Mount Elbert. The multiple storage pockets allowed plenty of space to store snacks, extra water, tools, and my rain poncho, but while still allowing a nice compact and lightweight pack. The bungees and adjustable straps are great for quickly accessing and securing items on the go.The bladder also works well. There are hooks in the pack that secure the top of the bladder to keep it from folding over at low capacity. The screw top lid is large enough to allow the badder to easily be filled, and I haven't had any problems with leaking. The bite valve on the water tube took me a while to figure out, but it works well and keeps water sealed in.The pack held up well on the trip, and I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend to anybody looking fro an affordable hydration pack.

Perfect for theme parks
October 17, 2017
This is perfect. It holds a decent amount of water. I usually take it to the Disney parks and refill it every so often. For one person it would last a while but me and my 3 kids use it so we have to fill it a little more but it works out great. Keeps water nice and cold. Ice lasts a little while too. I loved my army camelbak and love this one too
Perfect for obstacle course races!
March 23, 2017
My husband used this camelbak for a recent Spartan Super race. He said it was the perfect size. Just small enough to fit under low barbwire, light enough to carry for a long race, and holds just enough water. Also it doesn't shift around while running.
Durable, dependable, worth it!
September 24, 2016
I love using this all the time, even when I am not hiking. When I was setting up my classroom this summer in the heat, it was nice to be able to take a drink quickly and get back to work. I didn't need to stop and look for a water bottle. Its liquid really well and won't leak or break. The mouthpiece is detachable for easy cleaning. It is very durable. It is worth the price, especially if you will use it often. The only negative thing is that I wasn't sure of the best way to clean it. I use almost boiling hot water (which it can withstand) and run it through the bag and piping 2-3 times. Then I run cold water through it to cool it down. I wash the mouth piece with warm soap and water, though.Other than that, I continue to use it for various activities. I love it!
I like this camelbak.
August 16, 2016
I was not sure I'd like a backpack for hydration, but this has proved to work very well. No chafing and just the right amount of water for about a 2 hour run on a hot day. Probably get 3 to 4 hours in cooler weather.
I love the color of this camelbak
May 12, 2016
I love the color of this camelbak. It's different from the other ones and it fits nicely. This one is a smaller one and is perfect for runs and hikes. It ahs a smaller pocket in front where I can store my keys and cards. If I really need more space, I simply put stuff where the reservoir is. Obviously I only put water-proof items in there or put the items in a ziplock bag and store it there. The reservoir works great and so does the bite valve. I wish there was a cover for it because it tends to get dirty if I set it on the ground. I got a cover from camelbak but it's almost impossible to put on. Overall I love this product.

August 20, 2015
Bought these camelbaks for my buddy and I when we are on long trail courses without water stations. They performed great during the Spartan Beast and were essential to our success. If you are looking for an affordable, smallish, water pack this is the one to get. Also has a pocket where you can store some fuel (gel paks, salt pills, etc). Excellent product. The only negative is that it does not come with caps for the bite/tips so you need to get those separately if you are going to use these during a mud run.

Great bag, bladder and zipper quality.
May 18, 2017
Immediately after going on a short run with this bag after receiving it, I can say that the bladder is simple and sturdy, the fabric is quality and easy to clean. The best part of this bag was the zipper! It actually appears treated, this is great because I kayak alot, only downside is that the bag is not waterproof, and to my knowledge, the company doesn't offer a similar bag that is waterproof. This bag itself is worth $30, I would say it would be worth buying again at any price if it was waterproof, maybe G4free should start working on that for those of us who sweat alot or participate in water sports. Don't let these snarky 1 star reviews fool you
Nice for hiking
March 27, 2017
I used this bag for a camping/hiking trip. It was a perfect size for taking things on the go. Enough space to fit in a few things, and plenty of straps to clip things on the back. The only gripe I had was sometimes the water would not come out of the camelback as smooth as I liked.
Great pack. Fits a lot more than I thought
March 6, 2017
Great pack. Fits a lot more than I thought. I like that it has a strap going across in the front. 3 zipped compartments, the largest includes a separate section for bladder, and also a mesh pocket. The bladder wasn't great to me. The straw is a little too long in my opinion. It was a little hard to get water through so I just use a bladder from another old pack I had. Material is super durable and the straps are comfortable to me.
With a few modifications, it makes for a nice little day pack for hiking or hunting.
August 6, 2016
Nice sturdy little day pack. The hydration bottle is cheap but works (as long as you don't mind the silicone odor). You could put a better hydration pack in it easy enough but we've just used the one that came with the pack. My only other complaint are the zippers, which are good quality but a little noisy for hunting. I wrapped the metal zipper buckles in electrical tape to eliminate the noise. Overall I like the pack and would buy it again.
Very good pack, just some troubles with the water hose
May 16, 2016
I'm taking one star off because the water hose was very complicated to figure out. I had a hydration bag in the past, so I'm not exactly a newbie.First, the cons: bag comes folded so the hose was folded in at least 3 places (and because of the insulation fabric they put around it, you have to feel the fold with your fingers and smooth it out). Then it took some trial-and-error to finally figure out there is a lock at the tip of the hose (if you want to open it, you need to pull the tip up). And even so, water flow is inconsistent. I found out that you need to twist the tip (not the transparent part, but the whole tip) to get water flowing again. Also, I know I'm not exactly fit and in shape, but the lower straps are a joke. Unless you're a size xx-small, you probably won't be able to close it around your waist. Now for the pros: water did keep cool (although it was a very cold wind, so I can't attribute solely to the pack), there was no leakage, and the bladder seems to be very robust; bag has plenty of internal space, I was able to put a jacket, plus my keys and a bike maintenance kit. The bungee cords can be useful (although I have not used them yet).In general, it was a very good product for the price. I believe the hose problem will just take some getting used to.

Great for festivals!
August 20, 2017
I took this to Coachella and it was a lifesaver. I liked the small size because I was in huge crowds and I didn't want people bumping into it all the time. I just wish it had a bigger pocket that would fit my large iPhone 7+.

Adequate for a young biker's first hydration pack. It doesn't hold much, so if your child is at least in 4th grade, and you have a 15-mile bike ride, get a bigger Camelbak.
This is a great bag, but it's really tight on space
April 4, 2017
This is a great bag, but it's really tight on space. It's a CamelBak so you know the quality of the workmanship is there. The front pocket is big enough to stick your hand in, but that's about it. I was able to fii my keys and sunglasses, and nothing else. This is a fantastic bag if you're looking for something for a day hike or a situation where you'll be returning back to camp shortly. I ended up wishing I had more space for my portable battery, hat, etc.
Pretty decent for the price and gets the job done
December 2, 2015
Pretty decent for the price and gets the job done. I use it for long distance running. the straps do rub on your clothes so be careful about what material you wear if you're running with this. Hiking should be okay because your straps won't be rubbing on your clothes as aggressively as when you are running. I have a few ruined (expensive) workout tanks now because of this...anything with cotton in its blend will be destroyed by the rubbing from these straps.
Love this pack
April 22, 2015
Love this pack!! I bought 2 of these--one for me and one for my hubby for running--both training and running races. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars is because the stitching is a little rough on the straps and it snags my synthetic fabric running shirts and there was no loop to hook the bladder to on the top--inside the pack, so I had to sew a loop inside of it. Good thing I am a seamstress so I was able to fix it in both packs that I bought. In order to fix the snagging issue (it snagged up my new $45 running shirt---GRRRRRRR) I'm going to sew some soft fleece over the stitching to keep it from ruining my clothes. I am pretty sure it would chafe your skin to if it came into contact with your skin. What I really loved about this pack is that I can carry my giant Galaxie Note phone in the little pocket, in addition to my ID, a credit card or cash, chap stick, gu, my ziplock baggie with vaseline (incase of chaffing), biofreeze, toilet paper or other items you might need on a run. It's a pretty roomy little pocket!! This pack is perfect for my long training runs and half marathons & marathons! Love it!
Practical and sturdy
April 28, 2013
I really don't have many complaints when it comes to this item. It holds enough water for a 3-4 mile run/jog. When I'm at work, I fill it up 2 to 3 times per day (12 hour shifts). It's light and easy to store. The price on it is pretty reasonable as well. There's two reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. First, when running, you're going to want to put the Camelbak inside a tactical backpack of sorts so that it is secured to your person. The first time I ran with just the Camelbak, it was sliding everywhere. The second time, I put it inside a tactical pack with waist and chest straps and it did just fine.My only other complaint is that you have to be careful with the circular seal and the mouthpiece. The circular seal will come loose from its plastic lip occasionally. It is, however, very easy to put back on. While I was running, the mouth piece came off because it got snagged on my other pack. It, too, went back on with relative ease, but it also comes off with the same amount of ease.Overall, I would recommend this product. It has already paid for itself with the amount of money I've saved by no longer buying bottles of water.

Great bag, but strong plastic taste.
October 4, 2016
The bag is nice and I use it to carry 2 mountain house meals, my water filter, bushbox, and some basic light camping/hiking gear. The water pouch, however, has a really strong plastic taste even after I washed it probably a dozen times.
Leaks, tastes like plastic.
March 5, 2016
The backpack is nicely designed, with plenty of pockets and is comfortable. Looks like a quality product. The bladder/hydration pack on the other hand, is absolute s***. It leaks, and the water out of it tastes terrible. I've rinsed that thing a dozen times, using everything from a few drops of bleach to tablespoons of baking soda, and it still tastes like plastic. I find myself dehydrated on hikes, just because I'm avoiding drinking the water out of this pack.
Leakage from hose
September 25, 2015
Bought but returned due to leakage.Pros:- high bladder capacity 3.0L- a lot of space for personal items- two adjustable straps for across chest and across belly- cover with bite hose and push/ pull plugCons:- leak at the base of my hose- taste from water bladder is difficult to remove (common among these hydration bladders)- main straps are not ergonomic for shoulders and chest- chest and belly strap are cheap

lightweight bag, but no carry space in the pocket
March 19, 2017
This pack is fine if you are looking for a really small carry pack for water. The pocket is too small for an average smartphone, and really doesn't carry much at all. There is only the single pocket, I purchased 2 of these so each of my kids could use one. They had plenty of water since they are teenagers, but neither of them could get their phones in the bag so they still had to use their pockets.
Redesign this model for better ratings
September 26, 2016
This particular Camelbak has a solid bladder and on/off valve but the threading isn't great. I went on a short 5 mile hike and already, the threads are unraveling at the bottom. Additionally, the water tube just flops around everywhere. I recommend better stitching and some sort of fastener for the water tube. I'd like to give a better rating but it wouldn't be honest.

August 18, 2016
I got this camelbak for short mountain bike rides. I have a Mule for when I need to carry more supplies, and in the past used a lobo. There are a few things to know about this camelbak if you are familiar with the more common styles sold in retail stores. First, the bladder does have a quick connect mouthpiece but the drinking tube does not have a quick connect from the bladder which I don't care for when cleaning. Second, there is not a clip to hold the mouthpiece secure to the shoulder straps so it does bounce around while riding. Finally, the shoulder straps are not the soft mesh fabric I have on my other Camelbaks but because the pack is light it's still comfortable. Also, and I knew this before purchasing, the mouthpiece is straight whereas most of the biking pieces are angled. The good thing is the bag is compact but still has a generous zipper pocket that can fit a phone, wallet, and keys.
Rough straps/stitching
February 23, 2016
Bought this CamelBak for my longer runs (8mi.+). This backpack is fantastic except for the straps and stitching. The material used for this product is a much rougher type than other hydration packs - think of a nylon duffel bag, instead of a smooth nylon pack. It may increase durability but is much different than the smoother material of other packs. The stitching connecting the straps to the main body are also really rough. Why do I care? I run either with a technical shirt, like a Dri-Fit, or shirtless. I could feel it snagging on my shirt as I tried it on... I can only imagine what it would be like after intense exercise. Distance runners, take note!
Eh..
January 12, 2015
My husband says it is difficult to get the water out, you have to bite the mouthpiece really hard. It is a bit cumbersome to fill, and we've had trouble with it leaking if it isn't closed just right - not sure what isn't right, but it usually stops after we open and re-close it. Would not buy it again.
Pretty comfy, but no chest strep
February 11, 2014
It is great for snowboarding, for instance. The size is great for sports. Never leaked once, even when falling over my back on hard packed snow. The only major problem is that it does not have a chest strep. Ok, the pictures already shows that, but if the shouders straps weren`t so apart, it won't be neccessary. Sometimes that bothered me, since I had to adjust the backpack position while riding. 3 stars for this reason.

Built for small people and bladder leaked during race
May 26, 2016
I bought this for a Spartan race. The size for this pack is really small. I had a hard time fitting in all the straps. I fully extended it and it still was tight. It was a pain to take it on and off during the race. The bladder leaked as well. The tub connection works itself loose and leaks all over the place. Material is water resistant, so at one point I had to turn the bag upside down to dump out all the water leaking into the bag. I lost a lot of race time due to equipment management. I have to find a way to tighten the connection if I plan on using it again. I do have to say it held up to the beating I put it through. I dragged that thing through barb wire carries and 14 miles of rough terrain in the mountains and I didn't rip it.
better off spending more money for camelbak
May 2, 2016
better off spending more money for camelbak....the bladder leaked when I first filled it and there were times when the hose didn't work..it was very positional which wasn't good in the middle of spartan beast race...
Waist strap needs to be longer
December 23, 2015
I bought this for when I go dirt bike riding. But the waist strap is entirely too short to go over my jersey and armor and jacket. The top strap is fine but you need the waist strap to keep the thing from flopping around when you're riding off-road.
Wrong bladder sent!
August 27, 2015
The bladder included in my shipment was incorrect. The hose is a screw in hose which is prone to leaking. The one shown is a better quality bladder. Strap Design Issue
August 28, 2017
Good size and qualty, price is ok, but the product description (photo) is incorrect; especially the length of the shoulder straps padding is incorrect . I highly suggest not to wear sleeveless shirt while going for an outdoor activity; otherwise you will feel discomfort under the arms where the straps are touching the skin (which you will feel bruises later).

Not worth it
August 7, 2014
Super small, Carries a solid amount of water without feeling heavy at all. However, I could not fit anything into the pocket once it was filled (or even when it was empty). I could not hold the trifecta, cellphone, wallet and keys. It couldnt even fit my wallet!!! poorly executed product from an otherwise good company.Looking back, I would have gotten something a bit bigger from a lesser known company.
Great if it had a breast strap
April 25, 2014
exactly what i wanted a smaller light pack for short trip with smaller bladder. ONE BIG PROBLEM without the breast strap its no good. I took a chance reading the reviews it had no breast strap and thought the Camelbak guys know what they are doing maybe it doesnt need one......wrong it does. I have lots of Camelbak stuff typically its all really good. if I could I would return it but its used plus i needed the smaller bladder, which i use in a Nathan pack i have its great (their bladders are horrible). Also the pouch for phone is real small, ok if you just have a phone and a key buts that is it.....

I agree with a few others. The straps will ruin any dry fit shirt or your skin if you plan on running with it. I will be returning this.
Distance runners - beware extreme chafing!!
July 31, 2017
Really wanted to love it as it's so compact. I bought this bag for my marathon training. The first time I took for a very short test run, I came and saw that my expensive dri-fit shirt had been mauled by the straps. The second time I used it for a 6 mile run wearing a tanktop, and had my skin mauled by the straps. It was so painful that I considered stopping my run midway...needless to say, NOT the best bag for someone who needs to run hundreds of miles...
Abrasive - be careful on what you use underneath!
April 12, 2015
Great size and versatility for 2 hr run... I purchased mine for roller skiing... BUT, it ate my technical Swix jacket.... Why build something that is abrasive??? Also no quick disconnect for the hose makes cleaning a concern! How do I return a product from Amazon?

Not satisfied
October 16, 2012
It is not completely 1.5L capacity. I found it rather 1.4. Also it does not have the Antidote reservoir as claimed, so I could not extend the hose or change it to a longer version nor I could add the insulated one.

Great concept, but unfortunately I did not check it upon receiving it. The first time I used it was just past the return date, and I discovered that it leaks horribly. I used it on a walk with my daughter, and I ended up soaked. I can't recommend this product to anyone.
