July 9, 2017
This has been a very handy and accurate device for all my auction shipping needs.I don't regret the purchase. It lives on a shelf in my shop and is constantly covered with dust.I blow it off and use it. Even with rather over sized items, it's still very close to the mark. No complaints fromthe carriers.

Perfect little scale for what I needed
August 26, 2015
This scale was exactly what I needed. Honesty I couldn't believe the price was as low as it was. The overall quality is great, no cheap plastic junk like i had on my last one from a different manufacture. This works perfect for the smaller packages I ship but I have used it on 20 in boxes that weigh 20+ lbs and no problems. The weight seems to be right on because I checked it at the ups store and all of my packages weighed exact. Good Prouduct

Large, easy-to-read backlit display. VERY accurate. UPDATE: Batteries are dying within days.
February 4, 2017
UPDATE: I just discovered that this scale is chewing through batteries very quickly. I don't ship packages very often and noticed that everytime I went to use the scale I would have to put in fresh batteries. Lately I've been shipping more frequently - at least a package every week. Still - every time I use the scale I have to install new batteries. I shipped a package on Tuesday and had to install new batteries and now 2-days later I had to ship another package and the batteries were dead.
--------
This is a fantastic postal scale. I really like the bright, large, easy-to-read backlit display and this scale is ACCURATE! On the several different occasions that I checked on the accuracy of the scale by comparing this scale's readings with the actual weight as measured at the post office's scale the readings were IDENTICAL. Exactly the same. I checked at two different post offices locally on several different occasions and the readings were exactly the same. In the past I would use a kitchen scale and after awhile I got a good feel for the accuracy of that kitchen scale and I would usually add a couple of ounces to the reading to make sure my packages wouldn't be overweight when dropping them off at the post office. More often than not I would add too much to the reading. Not a huge deal but now with my American Weigh Scales very accurate scale I don't have to fudge the readings a bit. Thanks for providing such a fantastic scale at such an affordable price. I thought I would have to pay at least $75 to get a scale capable of weighing up to 55-lbs at this accuracy. I really like the "hold" button on the side that allows me to lock in the reading when I cannot see the display while weighing large packages.
Perfect Scale For Weighing Packages for Postage From Home Office
November 16, 2015
It is the perfect scale for weighing items to sell on eBay. When having to add the weight to listings to help sellers know the cost of postage makes for a better description of the item. Once the package is ready to go I double check the weight and then purchase the postage through eBay.

It runs on batteries and electric. I turn it off after every use so the batteries will list for a while. Once they are dead, I'll just plug it into an outlet.

The one issue that needs to be improved are the directions and how to use it. Nowhere in the little booklet does it tell what the button on the right side(HOLD) is used for. I found the use by reading reviews here at Amazon. Hold it in if you want it to remember the weight when you take the item off the scale. I find it silly....just read the weight and type in it in or write it down.
This unit won't ZERO OUT
July 24, 2012
I don't know how anyone can rate this five stars. I recently purchased this and it won't Zero out. When turned on the weight scale fluxuates from
-1.9oz. to plus 2.1 oz.

How can you weight anything if won't zero out??? I suspect the dampering function is non existance or defective.

JULY 24th - UPDATE.
To my amazement AWS saw this review and contacted me by email. They advised that they would warranty this item for ten years and requested I send it back for a replacement. - FANTASTIC! Great Company and thanks AWS for the follow up.
My Life Just Got a Whole Lot Easier! Works Great. Paid for Itself in 2 Weeks
February 28, 2012
If you've been thinking lately that maybe you should get a Postal Scale, but have been "on the fence" about it OR you just need a new scale that is accurate, easy to use, dependable and a nice size (8" wide x 8" long x 2 1/8" H), please keep reading.

I have recently started selling things on e-Bay and while I am happy every time I make a sale, it's gotten to be a real tiresome and time consuming task to package and mail things. First I have to pack my box, then take it to the US Post Office to have them weigh it, come home and print the label from e-Bay/PayPal with the correct weight on it, and then take it back to the Post Office again. That's two trips to the post office for every day I sell/mail something.

I've longingly eyed the postal scales at the Post Office(as I stand in the long waiting line) for $39.99, but felt they were too expensive. Maybe the Post Office scale is perfectly accurate down to 1 oz(this one is 2 oz at low weights--displays 1 decimal point for ounces and rounds up), but I don't need that level of exactness. I always need to add an ounce or two on anyway for tape, a little extra packing peanuts or bubble wrap and maybe even a freebie that I may add at the last minute.

This scale is perfect for everyday use. It's pretty small which I like and doesn't weigh a lot, yet it feels and looks well made and durable enough. Didn't need to calibrate mine. It was exact right out of the box.(Checked 5 items against the scale at the Post Office when they weren't busy). I mailed about 20 small to medium boxes in the first 3 weeks and they were all spot on. I've used it to mail over-sized letters, packages 15 lbs and under and also when I needed 10 oz. of broccoli for a new recipe we were trying out.

So far this is a great home scale at a reasonable price. It's not complicated, very easy & intuitive to use. And it's saved me an extra trip to the Post Office every day which is 30-45 minutes to spend doing something else, plus gas savings. With 2 kids away at college I'm always packing up something to send them. This has made it that much simpler and the kids are actually getting more "goodies" from home because I have extra time now.

I bought mine through EZ SELL for $17.59 and just wish I would have bought one sooner and made my life a little easier.

What you need to know:
It has an On/Off button.
The LCD readout is bright and the numbers are large and easy to read.
It has a "Hold" button so you can still see the weight of the package after you've removed it from the scale.
(especially useful if package is large and covers over the weight display)
It has a "Tare" button so you can weight an empty container and then have the scale display only the additional weight of the contents.(if you need this)
The "Mode" button allows you to switch between pound:ounce, decimal pound, kilogram:gram, decimal kilogram.
All the buttons are clearly labeled.
Has an auto time off of 2 minutes in case you forget to turn it off.
Flip back top allows you to weigh items that need to lean on something.
It runs on either 2 AA batteries included(if you want to move it around easily) or an INCLUDED AC adapter.
Handles weights between 0.2 oz and 55 lbs.
10 year limited manufacturer warranty
PS-25 Digital Postal Scale - Excellent - EZ Sell
May 26, 2011
This review is for the American Weigh Scales (AWS) PS-25 digital postal scale. I purchased it from EZ Sell via Amazon. It was shipped by EZ Sell and it arrived in only 3 days from the order date with standard (free) shipping.

The PS-25 has a maximum capacity of 55 lbs and a sensitivity of 0.1 oz (minimum capacity is 0.2 oz). The scale comes pre-calibrated and I tested it with a calibration weight that I already had and it seemed to be in perfect calibration. Note: If you want to manually calibrate the PS-25, yourself, you will need a 10 kg calibration weight. Such a large calibration weight is usually expensive. The cheapest one I could find is by the same manufacturer (AWS) and cost US$99.99 with free shipping which is almost 5 times the price of the scale, itself.

The PS-25 arrived with the platform uninstalled. Installation was easy---just align the six mounting studs to the mounting holes on the metal sub-plate and carefully push the platform onto the sub-plate until the studs are fully pressed into their mounting holes. The included user manual did not describe this but it was very easy to figure out. If you have any questions, just refer to the photo of the assembled scale in the manual. The PS-25 can be powered by either two AA batteries or an AC adapter. Both were included. The batteries were pre-installed and all I had to do was remove a clear plastic insullation tab from one end of the battery compartment to activate the battery power.

The PS-25 worked very well. It is fast and sensitive. The LCD readout is bright and easy to read. The features work very well: It is easy to change units (kg/g, decimal kg, lbs/oz, decimal lbs) with the "Mode" button or zero a tray with the "Tare" button. The "on/off" button made it easy to immediately turn the scale off without waiting for it to time out. A "hold" button on the side made it easy to freeze the value on the readout so you can weigh an oversize package, "hold" the value, remove the package and its weight is still visible for easy reading afterward. The top of the scale platform is hinged at the back and opens to form a backstop so you can vertically lean an oversize envelope (like a Priority Mailer) onto the scale for easy weighing.

Having a wide-range scale that goes from 55 lbs to 0.2 oz with an accuracy of 0.1 oz, runs from either battery power or a provided AC adapter, and can be calibrated by the user is awesome for this price (US$20.99). You can use it to weigh most anything from postal letters, medium parcels and packages, to food portions in the kitchen. It includes a 20-year warranty from the manufacturer, AWS. This PS-25 is the second AWS scale that I've purchased (I also have a small AWS-100) and the PS-25 seems to offer excellent value. I'm very satisfied with it and highly recommend it.

Good price-easy replacement
June 19, 2017
I loved this scale when I first ordered it back in January 2017 but unfortunately after only 6 months it shorted out and no longer works. I read some comments from the company for other people who gave 1 star and realized they have a 2 year warranty. They are sending a replacement scale! Hopefully it will last a little longer. The Customer service rep was very nice and it was easy to get a replacement on its way. So I changed 1 star to 4 stars.
Good Value
December 15, 2016
Not for very light items - get a postal scale for that ranging up to 5lbs.This scale is durable and the LCD display can be mounted to the wall or other surface to stay out of the way. The scale has been accurate for heavier items. Its portable (but I wouldn't transport it in a rough manner or drop it onto a surface), light weight and easy to use.If this scale is accurate on light items, its a no brainer to purchase as a wide ranging weighing solution.Just like many things that are calibrated (like torque wrenches), DON'T drop it or bang it around or you will lose the calibration and DON'T leave heavy items on the scale longer than you need to to get the weight.Bought it for $28.95 shipped. Its available for $25.49 as of this posting.Overall Good value.
It's overall a good postal scale
October 9, 2016
It's overall a good postal scale. I bought it and realized I paid a little too much for this quality. It's maybe worth 10-15$I was looking for a good quality scale so I bought it. It worked out for a month. Accuracy is about 98% Sometimes the weigh display changes but not too much. Has a charging cable so I didn't have to use battery which I'm happy about. Over all okay with the purchase but I won't recommend this to someone who need a good scale and is affordable. Good luck.
Great scale with good features but mine was inaccurate
March 22, 2016
So I thought this was a great purchase at the time because it was one of the top weigh scales on amazon and I really like how the weight scale part is separate from the reader. I have always had the one where it is all in one and might seem better not having two pieces but it was a pain when you would have a heavy/big item on the scale. Sometimes you could not see how much the item weighs and so this was the one I wanted. I also liked the blue screen making it easy to read. But in the end, I had to return this because it stopped reading the right weight. It was way off when I would go to FedEx and they would weigh the package for me after I told them I already did at home. It would be off about 2 pounds or so which is a big difference in price. I might have just had a defective one because my buddy has this same one and loves it. I loved it too as far as everything minus it reading a wrong number. So I give it a 4 because if it works it’s great. I might try another one in the future but for now I am using my old one with the scale reader built in to the scale.
Great Buy, slightly noisy power supply.
January 24, 2016
Great Buy, noisy power supply.Pros:-Supports heavy 100lb loads!- The separate read out allow for easy measurement of large items that could get in the way.- Readout supports grams, oz, lbs- Nice light blue screen makes it easy to read in a dark roomCons:- If only the readout piece was wireless, oh well that was to be expected ;)- Not sure if it is just my unit, but the power supply puts out a horrible wining noise that is more noticeable when the unit is turned off.
Good product for the money---Works for shipping purpose, not for measuring food.
December 12, 2014
Ok, I looked at several reviews on this thing and I'm not sure what people expected. A scale like this bought at a local office supply chain would have cost me over $200. I'm tired of people getting on Amazon writing bad reviews for cheap products. what do they expect when the are getting a product that is $150 less than it is a local chain store. This scale works great if your shipping packages. I'm not sure why people are trying to use a SHIPPING scale to weigh tomatoes. Nope, I didn't see anywhere in the item description that this would be good for food. I used to work at the Post Office and I can tell you, Go ahead and round up to the nearest pound, they do. There will be no difference between shipping something that is 10.6 oz and something that is 11oz. And if the is it won't be much. Also, most of the time you are better off using flat rate. Plus you can get free packages from USPS. UPS and FedEx round up too. The only flaw I found with it is that it isn't made in the USA.

Does not integrate with Endicia or Stamps.com
February 3, 2017
My fault- I should have noticed this.If you need a scale that will work with your software, such as Endicia or Stamps.com, this is NOT the scale for you. This scale plugs into an outlet only, and is a standalone weighing device. There is no USB connection, so you can't use it as an integrated scale with your computer. If you just want to get a weight on a package, this scale should be fine.If you need a scale that you can use with Endicia or Stamps.com, I recommend this one: DYMO Digital Postal Scale / Shipping Scale, 10-pound (1772057)
A must if you ship regularly and purchase postage online
January 24, 2016
I like this scale. Very dependable so far. It just works. Saved me extra trips to the post office.
I mostly use it to weigh items at around 1lb or less. It worked without any calibration and is accurate when compared to the post office scale.
The first one I received appeared to have been used or defective, so had it replaced for a new one and I am happy.

Suggestions for use: do not put anything on it until after it has started up and the display shows 0.00oz.
Explanation: If you have something on it, it will auto set it self at 0.00oz even though you have something on it, so if you take the item off the scale, the display with show a negative amount. To fix this, simply turn off, take item off of the scale, turn it back on and it has reset it self!
Useful for home-businesses and online selling
April 15, 2014
Overview:
This digital scale is a handy, compact, cost-effective tool that is perfect for getting accurate weighings for online shipping.

Pros:
Weighs packages very accurately.
Holds up to about 50 pounds.
Is compact and easily stored when not in use.
Capable of using metric units.

Cons:
Surface area is very small and is difficult to use with large boxes because the screen will be covered making it unreadable.
Power cord is somewhat short.

Conclusion:
If you own a small business and frequently mail out products, a digital scale is an absolute must. Especially if you find yourself purchasing postage online and printing your own labels. Honestly, you cannot find a better scale in this price range.

Disclaimer:
If you know you will be shipping large, extremely heavy or awkwardly shaped packages, you may just want to invest in a large floor scale that they sell at the post office.
Good scale, but it's not so good for very small amounts.
September 15, 2013
I purchased this scale for measuring ingredients in soap making. I was very pleased that it came with the AC adapter because I did not want to risk inaccurate measurements due to a low battery. The scale is good quality and weighted nicely. I did a test weigh with nickels (because they weigh 5 grams each) and it did give me an accurate measurement. My only issue with this scale, and the reason for docking one star is that it's a bit slow when working with very small amounts. I measured essential oils on this machine and it took the machine a while to register a new amount - for example, I slowly added liquid and the scale jumped from 14 grams suddenly to 16 grams skipping 15 entirely. I may purchase a more sensitive scale for smaller measurements but when I use this scale for measuring pounds or ounces worth of material, it gives a quick read and does a good job.

Bought in April 2014 >> RIP February 2016. Lasted almost two years then KAPUT.
February 6, 2016
I never had any issues with it until I tried to unplug it and move it. I went to unplug the cord from the wall and the back broke off and literally one of the two plugs was still in the socket and there were wires connected to that into the rest of the plug casing. I was pretty scared to touch it or try to take it out of the socket as I didn't want to get electrocuted. I turned the breaker off to take it out. It's crazy how the back just came apart when I unplugged it. I had another cord in the house that seemed to fit into the unit but when I plugged it in I could see power but the display wouldn't show correctly.
Power cords only 3 feet...
December 20, 2015
Works great but someone messed up because the power cord is only 3 feet long?? Unless you think people are nailing the digital section below the table you are using you need to include a 6 foot power cord. It still runs off batteries, but what an oversight.
I would try another.
March 21, 2015
Not very good with small weights.
Mixed review
January 2, 2015
After two weeks it stopped working with the battery, even after trying two new packs of batteries. Works just fine plugged in.
Ok scale, but I would not buy it again. Display is going bad and the cord is too short.
September 1, 2014
The cord from the scale could be twice as long as it is, it is almost too short. I have had this for a month, and the display is already going bad on it. Very hard to read the numbers. The rechargable batteries are garbage and don't hold a charge at all. Must keep it plugged in.
Unbiased Review - I bought this scale
April 27, 2014
*** Update -I changed my review to 3 stars. The main reason is that it will only read double digit ounces. For example it will read 7.6 oz but it won't read 10.6 it will only show as 10. This will not accurately read 3 digit ounces!!-----------------------------------------------------I was hesitant about purchasing this scale due to 99% of the reviews on here were by persons who were given this scale for the purpose of reviewing them. I tend to see items differently when they are free, that said I purchased this scale and this is an unbiased review. At first glance, this is identical to the American Weigh Scales SE-50. The buttons, layout, everything appears identical. That's where the similarity ends. This scale rocks! It's accurate down to about .2 ounces and there is no weight fluctuations. The accuracy and resolution are very good. It will not register anything under 5 grams. I weighed 2 quarters and it registered 10 grams +/- 1.3 grams. Accurate enough for all my needs, considering it's a shipping scale and will be used primarily for first class shipping (3-13 ozs). The American Weigh SE-50 I bought I ended up returning because of the large weight fluctuations.I also bought a Dymo Pelouze S100 Digital, that didn't read into the ounces (below , and you need that for first class shipping!I also bought the Saga 160, and the same as the DYMO doesn't read ounces below 5.This was the last one I tried. I wanted a scale with a separate face so I can work more efficiently and this scale fits the bill.

Big Boxes issues
February 24, 2016
Price is good, but the bad thing is that when you place a large box on top of it, the screen is not visible at the angle it is designed.
Defective
September 12, 2015
It's a nice scale, and would be perfect if it wasn't defective. The problem is the image on the scale, only the bottom half of the numbers show up clearly. I'm going to have to return it.
Decent for the price (if it's accurate!)
May 10, 2015
I received my scale 2 days ago. First of all I assumed I was getting a brand new item, but it has scratches and scuffs all over it that can't possibly be from shipment since it was packed securely. But okay, I thought, letting it slide. I tested the scale immediately with a box I wanted to ship and several little items.Design-wise, the backlit display is great; buttons are placed nice and large and were perfectly responsive so I had no issues there. When I weigh something, then weigh it a couple more times to be sure, there's a 75% chance the reading will be 2g (around 0.1 oz) higher/lower. I know beforehand that this scale weighs in 2g increments - having it not being at least 90% settled on a weight can be a little misleading though. I tested the scale on a table top (since it clearly says it's a table top postal scale after all) and then on the floor. Within 4 or 5 attempts at confirming the weight, there was at least a 4g difference, the lowest being on the floor and highest on the table. 4 grams (about 0.14 oz) probably doesn't seem like much, but in the event I had to weigh bigger packages and have to put it on the floor, I didn't exactly buy this scale just to end up having to guesstimate the weight, not when I do enough of that already without it. An additional minor issue is that in my case, the scale doesn't seem able to register anything less than 10 grams (0.35 oz), which may be a deal breaker for those who ship real light envelopes.Overall, I do like this scale's design and functions a lot and it generally works fine. I would like it to be absolutely accurate, but that's asking a bit much for an already good deal. I checked out lots of postal scale listings and took a risk here - pretty relieved I got one of the better ones, despite the cosmetic damage. If I were to advise future buyers, though, I'd say pay good attention to the ratings less than 5 stars, and if you're doubtful even a little, spend your money elsewhere. If you do buy this scale, I just hope you don't get a defective one, since it seems to be quite a likely gamble.EDIT: Ok scratch that bit about getting one of the better ones. My worries weren't unfounded, the scale weighs consistently (with the 2g - 4g difference occurring sometimes) but was completely off from the PO's by at least 20g (0.7 oz) which costed me as the lighter shipping option has price increments every 10 grams. Pretty disappointed; I'm updating this to 3 stars WHOLLY for design functionality. Accuracy, not so much. I have my refund, so I'll be buying elsewhere.
Not for Large Packages
January 3, 2015
Good little scale (8"x 8.5") but if you put a box that overhangs the readout on top, you can't read the weight. When you lift the package the weight immediately disappears. You have to fudge the box back & try to best guess what the digital readout was because you can't read it at a steep angle (looking under the box). If you use this for weighing food or anything that doesn't protrude to cover the display, you can read it fine. The last scale I had beeped when the weight was determined. This one you have to watch to see when the numbers stop changing to get the final weight reading. So far, the weight has been correct -same as the post office.
Power Cord Issues
October 25, 2012
I bought this Scale at the end of March 2012 and by the Middle of April, the Power Plug that plugs into the Unit had a split in it where the cord meets the Plug. By the end of April the other end of the Cord, near the Plug that goes into the Wall Outlet was also split. For some reason I did not return the Product, maybe because I was using it everyday weighing and sending shipments. About 5 months after purchasing this Scale it no longer functions because the Plug that fits into the side of the Scale has completely broken from the wire leading to it.BTW: I used this unit in a Gentle to Normal way. It was never abused in any way. Period.Power plugs are the weak point in any electrical appliance. Have you ever had a laptop computer "Die" because the power plug malfunctioned? This is a low-cost scale that does a good job without being overly accurate. But it's a piece of J*nk now that the weakest link (the Power Plug) has deteriorated to the point of Breaking completely. Not recommended!

March 24, 2017
Lasted me two years before started getting flaky and turning off by itself after a few seconds on, before it finishes the self calibration. I've had two shipments get received by the carrier that were overweight. It says 0lb when nothing on. Time for a new scale.
Quit Working After Only 1 Day
September 30, 2016
Unfortunately, this scale quit working the very day it arrived - I was only able to weigh a few items before it stopped altogether. Luckily, I was able to get a no-questions-asked refund, so the overall experience wasn't too bad. I quickly ordered a different brand of scale, and it has been working just fine. I know some people have had some great success with this particular scale, so maybe I was just unlucky and bought a lemon/dud.
I would not recommend this product
August 28, 2016
This scale is very small making it difficult to weigh any but the smallest boxes. It has a capacity of over 100 pounds but that is not any capacity you will realistically be able to use given that the base of the scale is smaller than the size of a piece of paper. Additionally the readout is attached with a "telephone-wire" style coiled cord. Unfortunately this means that when you try to place it someplace, it has a "slingshot-like" effect and shoots back towards the base. This makes holding the readout while trying to keep a package in place on the tiny base is extremely cumbersome unless you have three hands.. I would not recommend this product.
mine is pretty inaccurate.
November 17, 2014
I bought a set of scale weights, it will constantly read a different weight when I remove & replace the same the weight... just wish I knew which one was the correct reading..... mine is pretty inaccurate.
Rounds the Weigh Down
October 16, 2014
This scale rounds down on packages under a pound, causing inaccurate weights for postage. It also does not display the 10th of an ounce on any package over 9.9 ounces. I would not recommend this scale if you are purchasing postage online and depending upon it for accurate weight. I have had MANY problems at the post office for not having enough postage on my packages.

No longer provides accurate measurements
September 15, 2017
Purchased in April of 2013 and it will no longer zero out. The weight fluctuates between .5 and 1 oz positive and negative. It worked great for my dozen or so packages I send a year but after 4.5 years it is beginning to fail. Two star because it lasted this long, but I wish it would have lasted longer.
No longer works after 1.5 years
June 13, 2017
Unfortunately after about 1.5 years of use this unit does not work properly anymore. It does not tare when the button is pressed, but gives negative weight. When weighing items, even light items like letters or very small packages, it give different weights even when weighing the same item multiple times in a row to make sure the weight was correct. Not sure if I have a defective unit, or if it just degrades over time. Worked well for the first year or so, very disappointed that it no longer does. Hoping the manufacturer will see this review and advise, as I am well past the return date.
Do yourself a favor and splurge on a nicer scale.

Purchased this scale a few weeks ago and it is inconsistently inaccurate. I will weigh the same item and set it back down and each time it will say a different weight. Not to mention the user manual it comes with is a two page little pamphlet, which states if you need to calibrate your scale, use a calibration weight. Not any info about where to even purchase such a thing? Great, even more money to blow to fix this purchase! I would not recommend this scale. Do yourself a favor and splurge on a more expensive one.
Stopped working
April 16, 2017
I liked this scale because it was accurate and user friendly. However, it stopped working properly after 4 months. The weight keeps moving and changing. We have it on a flat surface as usual and there is abosolutely no movement. But the weight bounces like crazy.
Too unstable when used in an area with electronics
April 4, 2017
Doesn't last. I sell things on eBay and at first, the machine was great. But after half a year, the numbers started changing nonstop. I read up it might be because of the electric static that's interfering with the scale. I moved the scale to all parts of my building and it still has the crazy number changes, so I wasn't able to get a good reading. I had to run to Staples to buy a $50 weighing scale, just so I can mail out my packages.
Goes through Batteries Like Crazy!
October 26, 2014
I would only recommend this scale if you intend on plugged in when you want to use it. I've had this scale for less than a month and have had to change the batteries twice already. I don't even use it daily. I've probably only actually used this scale 15 - 20 times total. And I'm using new fresh Duracell batteries from the store. I thought it was just a fluke the first time I had to change the batteries. Guess not. I'm going to plug it in only when I need to use it... with the way it drains batteries I can't help but wonder what it would add to my electric bill if I kept it plugged in.

Very sad to say that I purchased this in January and after a handful of uses it no longer reads or works. It was only used to weigh a few boxes less than 30 lbs each. Went to weigh some inventory last week and no matter what I have done to trouble shoot it still is not weighing anything
it did work good when it did work

Received and didn't work!

I received my item and could never get the screen to work or the scale to turn on. I returned and ordered another product.
faulty, not for even the short haul

This scale weighs things lighter than they are or is does not weigh period and it has cost me time and money. It worked well for a while under light use but now it is absolutely unusable. I cant tell if there is a warranty and no one will contact me back
Disappointed
December 20, 2014
I recently started selling on eBay. I needed a scale and decided to go with this unit based on the sleek design, detachable display, and pure capacity not to mention the positive reviews backing its reputation. It arrived promptly, packaged nicely, but to my dismay the weight constantly fluctuated. I figured it was the surface because many areas in my home are uneven. I tried a plethora of different locations with the unit, all with the same result. I'm not going to sit here and act like the product is garbage, because there are always defective units and / or damaged ones. I think I just drew the short straw. I looked at the return policy and it is cut throat on regulations to return so I guess I'm just out $30. -Due to me losing money on a defective unit I had to give this 1 star.
Does not weigh correctly
July 28, 2014
I started receiving my shipments back stating that postage was due. I reweighed everything and it all looked good. So I took my packages to the post office. They weighed them and said they were 1-2 ounces more than what this scale told me. So I tested this scale with a lightweight item. I weighed my cell phone on my little 13 oz. postage stamp scale = 5.5 oz. My cell phone at the post office - 5.5 oz. My cell phone on this scale = 4.6 oz.

Only good for small boxes
September 20, 2017
If you only ship small packages this is fine, but the way the screen is angled makes it unusable/unreadable with large boxes. It covers the screen and you can't find out the weight. It says it weighs up to 55 lbs, but the restriction is more on size. I am very disappointed and this scale does not work for my needs
Great for the first three months.
February 11, 2017
After 3 months I get constant error messages. Readings are markedly different from what they were before the errors appeared. The hassle of packing and shipping is not worth the cost; will buy another one (just not the same model/brand). It was great while it lasted (3+ months). I use it about twice a weeks. It certainly didn't fail from overuse.
Battery Eater, Don't Recommend.

We purchased this item in 2014. It doesn't turn off and eats batteries like crazy. Looking for a new scale.
NEARLY CAUGHT ON FIRE!
August 28, 2016
I am so disappointed. I had this scale for a few months and I LOVED it. It worked great. I had ZERO problems. And then one day the adaptor stopped working completely. There was absolutely no functioning. I hadn't put batteries in it up to that point so I figured that I could use batteries since I need to weigh something. I put the batteries in (correctly - I checked three times) and still nothing. I then took the batteries out and plugged in the adaptor again...at which time the screen started to "ooze black" across the screen and smell like an electrical fire. I unplugged it immediately and removed it from my house. I am now without a scale and OF COURSE it was after the return period was over. I guess I am out a scale. :(
I really like this scale : ) - till it stopped working well

UPDATE: STOPPED WORKING WELL, am having to return it. stopped zeroing out after weight, and readings were wrong. Back to my 20 year old one.Ok, it is a vast improvement on my old scale. It stays on when on battery for 2 minutes, my old one would turn off after 30 seconds. When set to grams, or pounds when it turns off it remembers which it was set to. My old one would turn off to quickly, then when turned on it would go back to pounds, so I was always turning it on and changing the scale to grams. I fill SodaStream bottles of CO2 which is done in grams. This scale goes to 55 lbs, which when weighting small CO2 tanks of 7.5 lbs empty, I can fill it and get 12.5 lbs which is full for a 5 LB tank. In the past I had to use two scales as my old scale only went to 10lbs, and my Taylor scale could not read under 10 lbs.
AC adapter stopped working! Piece of junk!
May 1, 2016
This scale lasted me no more than a year. It can either run on battery power or AC adapter power cord. I bought this unit to run on AC adapter only. I've put no more than 1 pound on it and the AC adapter just stopped working for no reason at all. I'm upset because again its not even a year old and only use it on occasion. I tried using batteries but it soaks up batteries like nothing! Very disappointed!
