Five Star Reviews: | 83% Perfect darkness! September 8, 2017 This are truly blackout curtains! I recently purchased so called blackout curtains from Dollar General for another bedroom and the dollar store version does not compare to these! The room with these curtains is total darkness when these are pulled closed. Definitely a great edition to any room where darkness is needed. Great!! July 14, 2017 These were perfect!! Not only did one set of panels cover my windows (30x60) bubut they work like a charm without gloom in the room. My one year old is actually sleeping in because it keeps the room cool and dark! I've never been more thankful for an item before! Great for dorm windows (hang using command 3M hooks) August 30, 2016 The curtains are great, and they block light and are true to size. My son says they work great. He just went off to college and he lives in a dorm where there are not curtains. They are not allowed to drill or put nails in the walls, so we were trying to figure out how to put curtains up in his room. Also the window is too large with no space for a tension rod to hang a curtain. The sun was making the room too hot and the light woke him too early, as well as a street light keeping the room lit at night. Thank goodness for grommet curtains and command 3M hooks. He put the hooks above his window and hung the curtains by the grommets. Works great! I hope this review helps other college students with an idea for hanging curtains in their dorm. Better than expected August 7, 2016 When I got these out of the package, the curtains were softer than I expected. I was expecting something rough and really heavy. These curtains were about a medium weight compared to other curtains I've had. They really do their job well! They keep out all light. I can now sleep in till 10 or 11 without worrying about sunlight waking me up. If the curtains are closed even in the middle of the day, it seems as it could be nighttime. I fall asleep faster due to these curtains. I've also noticed my room stays cooler than it used to which is a huge plus when paying for the electricity bill. Overall, great purchase! I would recommend to anyone. Great Blackout Curtains January 10, 2016 Finally got around to hanging these up and I'm really pleased. We have wooden blinds at each window in our apartment, but there is still so much light that gets through even when the slats are shut. My boyfriend works night shift and needs to sleep during the day, so I searched through Amazon for blackout curtains and chose these based on the good reviews and reasonable price. The quality is great. I bought two sets of the navy blue- one for each window for our bedroom. The metal grommets are a bronze color which match nicely with the blue. The material feels kind of silky, but it's not shiny or cheap looking. The curtains are definitely blackout curtains. The picture I took are our windows with the curtains open, and then the curtains closed in the middle of the day. No light gets through except a little at the top and a little at the bottom, but this was expected. They are just long enough to cover our windows which is why I bought the size I did. I believe the measurements are accurate as to what is advertised. If you're looking for a good blackout curtain, I would highly recommend these. | 64% Great for the price August 13, 2017 Initially purchased one and then after installing it purchased 2 more. These are inexpensive so they aren't very thick and require the center bracket to make them stable, but for the price they are great and they do not look cheap. I did not use the brackets that came with it because I was hanging it over vertical blinds (sliding glass door) and I needed extra long ones. I have a small area in our bedroom that receives lots light and needed a darkening curtain and this rod does its job. Well made and style is not bad either. I Really Like This! April 12, 2015 So I wanted to take away a star for the actual bar being so thin, but I think that's more user error. I generally guess the "size" of the things I order online wrong. I ordered this because the grommet panels I have called for a bar less than one inch. This one fits, but looks a little thin. I love the bar though and the end caps are really nice.It comes with all of the hardware and the handyman who hung it for me had it up in less than ten min. We have drywall, and the screws worked well, and so far it hasn't budged even though these are not on the studs. Four Star Reviews: | 10% Cheap and Cheerful July 6, 2017 Ordered these curtains because they were cheap and cheerful. I'm definitely not disappointed, but they're also no Restoration Hardware material. They will get the job done (block out the light) and they look as to be expected and not too cheap. Stitching was done a bit poorly but you can't tell once they're hung. Be prepared to steam them when they arrive! Bottom line - I would recommend these if you need to block out light and don't want to spend a fortune! Quality fabric but stitching could use some finishing improvements. June 20, 2017 Fabric was soft but sturdy and color matched as advertised. Some of the stitching at the top contained loose threads at the end of the stitch. But the stitches were intact in spite of this. Nice feel to the fabric, but unequal length between sets September 26, 2016 These curtains have a lovely, soft feel to the fabric. I have them hung on windows in the guest bedroom that receive intense morning light. They block the light as well or better than the Eclipse curtains I had before. I like that the backing is the same color as the front and they feel & hang like velvet curtains and are not stiff like other blackout curtains. My only complaint is that I ordered two sets and one set was at least an inch shorter than the other. I kept them anyway, since I had two panels that matched for each window and the windows are far enough apart that it isn't noticeable. Keeps cool air out January 12, 2016 I love the color and the quality is great. Definitely will keep light out of the room and completely black it out. I bought them to keep cool air out of my living room because I have a huge bay window and these curtains are amazing. It's flimsier than I expected, though. Since I'm using it for lightweight curtains, I have no complaints. These would not be suitable at all for heavier draperies. this is a pretty universal design March 24, 2017 Ok, so I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for." This was a very affordable rod. However the balls at the end do not attach in the normal style. Curtain rod end caps usually have a thin screw attachment coming out of them, and you screw it into the bar. If you were to want to change it out at any point, this is a pretty universal design. This rod does NOT use that system. The balls just get pushed into the bar, there is a chunky white piece of plastic that holds it in place. It isn't as secure and it isn't interchangeable with other designs. However, it is a very affordable curtain rod and I assume they had to cut costs somewhere! It looks good and once it is installed you can not tell that it is made with a weird connecting system. You get what you pay for. These are a good buy. January 2, 2017 For the price, these are very nice. Definitely a great buy. If I wasn't such a cheap, bargain shopper, I would say these are thin and cheap. The ends plug in with plastic plugs. They don't screw on. The rods are super thin compared to higher quality rods. But, they were cheap and they are holding up my curtains without a problem. I recommend them for value shoppers. I do not recommend them for high traffic areas where the curtains will be highly molested or areas where kids might pull on them often. Okay, but not great! March 26, 2016 This rod is really small. I ordered two for small windows and they look super thin! It also holds a light weight curtain, and does not appear to be solid enough to hold a heavy curtain. Three Star Reviews: | 4% Simply Okay February 1, 2017 They are okay. Ordered beige and the material is nice, but they only block MOST of the light, not '99%' as claimed on the package and what I would expect of a blackout curtian. One panel also had a discolored spot on it that isn't very noticable, but, there is still a spot on brand new out of the package, light colored curtains. For the price.. i could have done worse ? Does the job November 18, 2016 The fabric has a very slight bronzy shimmer to it that isn't noticeable in the picture. It's not a huge deal, it can hardly be noticed. One pet peeve I have is that one side of one of the panels is crooked. We just had to make sure the slanted side was on the inside and just covered it up with the other panel. I thought about returning it for these reasons but for the price it does exactly what I want which is block outdoor light and that to me was most important since it was for a nursery. I was not happy with the color June 29, 2016 I have no complaints about the service and communications. I was not happy with the color. It said it was beige but it is a cream color. I could not use it in the bedroom that I wanted to but used them in a spare bedroom. I like the size and light blocking material. I have to note that I had to redo one of the sides because it would not lay flat even after ironing. Update 11/10/15 November 1, 2015 Seller read my review and gave me a $20 credit, I spent about $75, it was a good gesture but I will not trust to make a purchase from them again. Curtains are okay, they were small dirt looking spots, a run going down the middle of one panel. The packaging was not great, very wrinkled when I opened it. Didn't return because I would have no coverage on my big windows, where I had just removed vertical blinds. Will not purchase again. They do block out the light not to sure about the heat yet, the quality should be better for the price. they slide easily across the bar October 13, 2015 These curtains are perfectly sized for my window, they slide easily across the bar, they aren't too heavy (I have a very thin curtain bar and it bends just so slightly), and they block almost all sunlight and headlights which kept waking me up in the night! The only light that gets through comes around the curtains. They also keep the room noticeably cooler than without them, and I get full sun through my window. The reason I'm giving this three stars is because the tie backs that are supposed to hold the midsection of the curtains look cheap and don't look like they belong. But other than that easily fixable problem (custom or store tiebacks), these are GREAT! | 9% Kenney Beckett Window Curtain - expandable July 25, 2017 Arrived with no damage - they are very attractive - but - don't hang anything heavy on them, as they are flimsy in the middle. I bought grommet curtains to put on these - and they kind of sag towards the center. But, if handles with care it is ok and looks pretty good. But I would not put in a kids room or anywhere where it will encounter any form of pressure because it will bend or break. December 24, 2016 For the price it's great. Comes with the 2 end brackets and one for the middle, all the screws and plastic drywall anchors. Installation went smooth. The ends pop off and the rods slip off for easy curtain mounting. I gave it 3 stars because of it sagging so much. I had a metal bar that did not need the brace in the middle. Now i cannot push both curtains to one side. Decent rods. December 25, 2014 These rods look good and are fairly sturdy. However, the screws and butterfly fasteners that come with this unit are not always the right size, and I've had to struggle and improvise just to attach them. Two Star Reviews: | 2% Colors don't match July 26, 2017 Beware that the colors do not match. I ordered the navy blue. Upon opening, I could see that the two panels were different colors, one was navy and one was considerably lighter. The two panels that were both supposed to be navy blue were not the same colors, and they would have looked mismatched if I hung them up as is. Needless to say, these were promptly returned. The Amazon website said the fabric was cotton, but ... December 6, 2016 The Amazon website said the fabric was cotton, but when I received the curtains, the fabric was 100% polyester - exactly what I did not want. The curtains are being returned, and I found cotton ones elsewhere. Do not buy these! Poor quality and not complete blackout November 4, 2016 Look: When it arrived and I took it out of the packaging, the color was much darker than I expected - almost more of a purple, and the grommets were tarnished and the metal had corroded creating a green ring on the outer edges of the grommets. They had also left an unsightly impression in the curtains. I was very disappointed by them as I'd been looking forward to a lush look for my bedroom. Room Darkening: I put them up during the daytime to check their room darkening capability and was very pleased at how dark they made the room (I work nights and don't wake up until the afternoon so that component is especially important to me). However, setting them above the windows as shown in the photo will bring in daylight on the tops of the curtains. Because I'm looking for complete blackout curtains, I set them below the tops of my windows and against them which helped dramatically. Overall: I decided to keep the curtains (which is why I rated them two stars) rather than return them as I simply put them behind my regular curtains which gave me both the look I wanted and the functionality of blackout curtains. However, I would not recommend these to anyone. Overall NOT happy September 2, 2015 Loved everything about these except that 3 out of the four sets I bought were not the same length. They were off by anywhere from 1/2 to over 1 inch. Was like putting together a puzzle matching panels that were uniform. I purchased this and it said it was 5/8s diameter and then bought a curtain that could go up to a full inch. I just installed the hangers, and the rod. The Rod is weak, and it would be hard to open the curtain. But that's not the major issue. The major issue is that this curtain, designed to over anything up to and including inch couldn't get close to around this rod. At first, I thought it was the curtain, so I tried some other things in that size and they all fit. Then I measured the rod, and one part was a little over an inch and the other, thicker, half was a little less than an inch and a half. The rod was the wrong dimensions listed, both here and on the package. The quality is poor, and the dimension s are wrong. I wouldn't recommend this purchase to anyone. Cheap & Flimsy August 14, 2016 Quality was very poor, very flimsy. Ended up returning it (at an expense to me) because I could find a better product for slightly more money.
