Ahhhhh It works flawlessly! With the SD2SNES, normal SNES games, NES games, multiple NES games in 1 cartridge, original SNES controllers and third party cord extensions. The only thing I would like is the ability to plug my NES controllers into it too but it doesn't take anything out of the experience.
Are there better systems like this out there
April 26, 2017
Wanted to play the old Mario games and this was just the ticket. Are there better systems like this out there? Maybe, but this was cheap, easy to set up, and it played the Mario Games that I had.

Love it it plays very well and the cords are long some reports of people saying short cords that's false the cords are very long and the system is cheaper then all super nes. And Nintendo systems I love Amazon you give the best deals . but I rate this system 7 stars ! All games play flawless !

Received sooner than expected, packaging was great, it even came with a handle on the box for easy carrying! Have used it several times and it works perfect! It's exactly as described and depicted in the photo. The controllers wires are a little short for me but thankfully I still have my original ones which I'm able to use! There's also no release button so you have to pull the game out with a little force which is a little bit unsettling, however I don't think it created a problem. I highly recommend this! If you're pondering on it, just get it. Trust me.
Works perfect!
February 23, 2016
This things is seriously great! I bought this for my wife on Valentine's day because she's always loved playing Super Mario World on their families game console. I had been looking up some vintage systems that were going to cost over $100 to purchase, and not all of them even looked to be in that good of shape. So I was happily surprised to see this system that could play BOTH NES and SNES! Since we plugged it in it's worked flawlessly with the games we've played (Mario World, Donkey Kong). Honestly save yourself $60+ and get this system instead of an old possibly damaged machine. Great buy!*** I really used this product and will continue to do so unless a flaw comes about in an untimely manner at which point, I will update my review and post pictures (if possible) with the problem. If this review was helpful to you please push the YES button below. Thanks so much!

Works alright, some games wouldn't play.
September 29, 2017
This device works well to play NES and SNES games. When the device worked I didn't have any problems at all. However I did run into a couple of issues with it playing certain video games. These are games that I've played within the past year and were working at that time. I can't say for certain that the issue is this device, but signs point to that. So while it may not work for every game it does work great for the games that it will play.

Bought this for my nephew who started getting into super mario old school games and it works great!! He loves it!! ๐Ÿ˜ its s a little lighter wieght than i would have liked but plays all the old nitendo games and has had no problem with it.
Reliable and fun with a few tips to help it work better.
April 7, 2015
Bought one of these a while back and meant to post a review. This machine works really well for what it is. It's a means to play outdated video games reliably and it serves that purpose. You may have to blow into you cartridge just like you did back in the day in between being pummeled by your older brother trying to get a turn at mario 3. The controllers have a lag but if you buy an original snes controller from a smelly weirdo at a nostalgia video game store for 20 bucks you'll be just fine. The best tip I can provide is if you are playing on an hdtv switch it to GAME MODE. This will dramatically Decrease the amount of lag between the controller and what's happening on screen. Over all its been reliable and fun.
Pleasently Surprised
November 28, 2014
I don't hear any difference in the sound. I played "Faxanadu" on the original, then on this system. It sounded the same. The colors are a little different, the colors are a lot darker, like the bluish purple in "Iron Sword" was a purple, but it didn't really bother me. The controls are smooth and actually better than my old NES controllers because I think those are getting kind of old or maybe they were just like that.I just didn't like the grinding sound it made when I pushed the cartridge in. The SNES is fine too. The controllers look like they could go in an old SNES console.
A Decent System
March 3, 2013
I purchased this because I found about 30 old SNES games in a box that have been in storage for almost 2 decades and really wanted to play them. All of the games work, and I've read that people were having trouble playing some titles such as Super Mario All-Stars. It worked for me. I think I read somewhere that it will not play some Super Famicom or "PAL" cartridges. In fact, if you look up "Retro Duo" on Wikipedia, it will give you a list of known incompatible titles. The only real complaints I have are the controllers. The Directional pad is very clunky and for anyone who likes playing classic Mario Bros. or other platform games will get pretty frustrated with it. I haven't tried plugging in the original SNES controllers, but according to many sources, the original controllers work on the system very well. Also, the system is real light and you could easily crush it if you accidentally stepped on it for sure. Overall, though, plays great for SNES games (I haven't tried any NES games yet). I'd recommend it for the price, if you're not clumsy and tend to break things easily and if you already have an original SNES controller.
Play Old Games!
November 27, 2012
This works great to play old games, though, like others, I have a hard time getting the NES cartridges in and out. BUT if you have a ton of old games with no working console, it's a lot of fun and priced really well for the hours of enjoyment you will likely reap from it. I have had no problems playing any of my games on it.The controllers do leave a bit to be desired. They are set up like SNES controllers, so for NES games, it does not quite feel the same. They are also not very high quality. In addition, the cables are too short for my liking. They're actually pretty similar in length (have not measured) to the cables for the original systems. However, back then, people sat a lot closer to their smaller TVs when gaming. Now, most people have larger TVs and need to sit further away, which is made difficult by the cable length.Despite a few flaws, I am really happy that I purchased this and can now play my NES and SNES games.

Very fun to play the old games
February 5, 2016
Very fun to play the old games. The games fit very tight and I worry that its gonna break the system pulling them out and inserting them. It does feel cheaply made. SNES play great and NES are like the old system, you gotta blow like crazy. The 3 stars is because it is very cheaply constructed, but also lightweight. The controller cord pulled out of the control from minimal use. Still works but seems like it is cheaply constructed. Just remember with this you get what you pay for but it will do the trick.

November 10, 2015
System works as advertised, however the controllers and wires are incredibly cheap. Within a few months I had to replace the power cable as wires were coming out of the adapter and I felt it was unsafe. The controller wore out after a few months of moderate use, buttons were much less responsive, almost 'mushy' and two, the top right and the A buttons became completely useless. I went out and bought a used snes controller which has fared much better, even being as old as it is.
Christmas gift
May 9, 2013
I bought this for my wife as one of her Christmas gifts, he has a lot of old games for the SNES and NES. She had always wanted to hook up both systems and have a game night, I figured this would make it easier to play by only having one system to use.Pros~Most of the games she had work on this system.Brings back memories of playing when we were younger.Fairly inexpensive.Cons~Controllers feel a bit small and use the same controller for both NES and SNESSeems to be made of cheap plastic, we have only had had it for a few months but I am not sure how long it will last.If you want to play old games and don't want to have two systems hooked up then this is it, but just know that it seems a little fragile. Other than that its fun.
Works great, except for distorted audio.
December 11, 2010
It's really great to have my NES games back in the rotation.I got this mainly because my original NES was taking a lot of abuse from my child, and I knew it wouldn't last long if not protected. So I got this hoping it would play the games decently until my son is old enough to be more careful with "classic" electronic devices. It does just that, but as I noticed right away, and he put so eloquently tonight "What's wrong with the sound, daddy?" - the audio is overdriven out of the synthesizer. Not just a little, and not to the point of total distortion, but I wish there were a potentiometer I could adjust with a screwdriver to down the gain before it is sent out the output ports. First I thought it was due to the fact that the output is a stereo pair instead of monoural like the classic NES, but it turns out that it's simply monoural audio, the same channel, out both ports, and both are distorted. It's not noticable for "quieter" games (Tetris comes to mind - it's not immediately noticeable, and is tolerable) but ruins games like Zelda and any of the Super Mario trilogy. If this is important to you, I'd keep looking. Though this is the only thing I've tried, I'm inclined to try another before I resort to building a full-on MAME cabinet and use an emulator on the media PC at the heart of it.-jre
It is what it is, not much else.
November 13, 2010
Well, what can I say about this console? I think I would have been better off with an NES and SNES separately. For one, being it's a top loader, the Game Genie cartridges are really tough to get in and out, and being I am a compulsive game cheater, that's a huge problem for me. The SNES is a little easier, but the NES, forget about it. It's always sticking in there, and I swear I'm damaging it at least a little each time I put it in and out. If that's not enough, the controllers suck. I never got the chance to play with the stock SNES controllers before, but I have to assume that they are better than these monstrosities. Being that there isn't analog sticks, you're stuck to using a D-pad. So naturally, you'd think that they'd focus on making the D-pad the best they could. It gets sticky sometimes, and a lot of times points down when I'm going left or right. Get the SN Propad, a turbo controller made for the SNES. Unfortunately, I got one with a broken left button, so I'm constantly switching from the standard to the Propad. I'm limited in games such as Contra III, in the overhead stages, and Doom, when I want to strafe. Anyways, back on the subject of the console. The games, especially NES, tend to stick in the slots, even without Game Genie. Like I said before, getting the NES Game Genie in and out is a HUGE problem. It's really stuck in there each time. You need to press one hand against the console and the other hand tugging out the game. If you've ever shot arrows in a bullseye board, then you know what I mean when I compare it to when you have to pull the arrows out of the board. The technology is so convenient in its design, there is an S-video cable as well as RCA, and the cables are neatly organised and stuck together, so, the Retro Duo might be worth getting. However, I'd take a look at some other consoles first. Don't be drawn in by its sleek black and red design. Then again, it's worth a look, and it definitely is a new and old gaming experience you're bound to enjoy.
good for a cheap console
October 2, 2010
this system isn't bad you can tell its cheaply built though, second snes game i put in caused the system to start emitting snow lines on the television, put the first game back in and low and behold same thing so when I pulled out the first game I must have knocked the system so like I said cheaply built. the other reviewers don't accurately describe how hard it is to pull the NES cartridges out, you have to essentially pick up the console, lock one arm straight and pull with the second stronger arm to get the game out, and you really have to tug. With a cheap console and hard to take out games you see how easily this thing can break.play wise so far I haven't had any compatibility issues and the games have worked well, I was even able to play kirby super stars and master blaster so it works great on that end. As others have said the controllers are light and you are limited to SNES controllers, would have been nice though if I could change the configuration of the buttons before playing the game but this console isn't set up for that. Also this console is tiny, if you have ever had a dvd player with like a 6inch screen the console is about the same size and height, and its light enough that you can easily pull the console off of any shelf almost without a any effort. Finally I will say this it does the job but be very careful when removing the games and make sure that whoever you buy it from adds a little more packaging than a box because it is that fragile and sensitive

Usually see these four sixty bucks around town so fourty seemed like a good deal. Plays carts ok but sound quality is horrible returned first console thinking it was a defective item second one is a little better but not by much but it does play the games for a decent price point
Ok for the price
January 2, 2016
Pros: Plays NES and SNES games, cheapCons: the controllers that it come with are really cheap feeling, and the buttons are not very responsiveIn addition to this, you might want to buy a OEM SNES controller to have the real feel of the gamesSNES controller input only, no NES controller inputOK for the price
Two consoles, both began giving blank screens after a short time.
December 30, 2015
2 Stars because I was able to return and replace the first console I purchased that ended up giving a blank screen after 3 days. Unfortunately, It's been 3 months and now the replacement console is doing the same thing. It's outside of the return date otherwise I would be requesting a return without a replacement this time around. Not sure if I just got two lemons back to back, but not worth the money in my experience.

February 5, 2015
Game console works but the controllers are just not the same as a real snes controller. Seems to be a delay in the buttons and directional pad. I do like that you can have two types of cartridges in the slots at the same time so it's really easy to switch from nes to snes games with just a switch of the button.
One of the controllers didn't work
February 4, 2014
I nearly never write poor reviews because I nearly never get poor products, but this was a bum deal. I've been wanting to play my old SNES games that I found (The original console is long gone) so I found this, read some reviews, and figured it wouldn't be too bad. When I set everything up, the console worked well, played the game, but my controller wouldn't respond to anything. I messed with it and got it to respond, but even then it was wonky and would restart the game whenever I pushed the B button. The other controller works fine so I shouldn't complain too much, but the fact that part of the product I paid for came faulty really miffs me. I guess I'll just go to my local game shop and buy another controller.
Either super tight or irreparably loose
May 6, 2013
I bought this to play my Super NES Mario games as well as the NES games. The NES cartridges are so loose that they do not even play. The Super NES (16 bit) slot holds onto the games so tightly that I often worry that I amgoing to damage my games pulling them out!I also am having trouble saving games on this console....it does not save like the original Super NES did inthe past. I may end up returning this is I have any more problems.EDIT: I reduced it another star due to the fact that it has issues saving. It has now erased 4 saved games; games with significant progress on them.It looks like I will be returning this for a different console.

This worked for 6 weeks and now itโ€™s malfunctioning. Itโ€™s not the games as I have 15 games and they all arenโ€™t working. Donโ€™t buy unless 6 weeks is all you are looking for.

Didn't work. Returned and replaced twice. None of them worked for me. I ended up using a free emulator on my laptop with a USB controller.
What a waste of money
July 27, 2017
This thing stopped outputting video after 30 minutes of playing it. What a waste of money. Definitely sending it back. Don't buy it it'll crush all those childhood memories you want to relive.
Only lasted a few months.
April 9, 2017
I bought this gaming system around November 2015, and started using it in December. By May, it stopped working. I noticed it getting kind of touchy and slow, and left it alone for awhile. To this day it refuses to work, and I am extremely disappointed since the SNES is my favorite console from my childhood and am now trying to find one that can handle being used on a regular basis. Perhaps this is a good system for the casual gamer who will play their SNES one or two times a month, but from my experience this system was not prepared to be a regular gaming console.
