Great System
July 20, 2016
Seriously we cannot find this in any store and this is the first Amazon purchase that we made that we were kind of low-key afraid that would not be what was in the picture but luckily blessed it is definitely what was in the picture it works perfectly it is a great system I would definitely purchase it again if I needed to from Amazon it came to us in two days definitely worthwhile.

This product arrived quickly and in great condition. The quality is #1 and we have been vigorously using the system for over 6 months now without a single issue. The quality of the design logo and its application to the exterior is beautiful; this is truly a collectors piece. Here is an unboxing video with close up photographs of the unit, the packaging, and what comes in the box:[...]
My son loves it!
January 3, 2016
This was a gift for my 11 year old son for Christmas. He loves his X Box 360 and his Wii and did not ask for a PS4. I knew he wanted to play Star Wars Battlefront so after lots of research and asking around, I decided to get him the PS4 Star Wars Deluxe. The Darth Vadar skin on the console is very cool. I think I am more impressed with it than my son is. The graphics are amazing! It is an investment but I think he will play with it for years to come!!
Best looking PS4 Limited Edition
November 29, 2015
What kind of things I can say about the console. It's the best looking one for all the Playstation 4 made by Sony Besides from the 20th Anniversary and Metal Gear Solid Crimson Red. We should be lucky that we have this limited edition. In Japan, Sony did not lunch the Star Wars Limited edition Console and gamers wants their hands on this console. They are willing to pay twice the amount just to have this console. If you try to compare BO3 and Stars Wars limited edition. I would choose Stars Wars Edition. The value of Stars Wars console will go up especially if it's unopened Console and for the holidays. Non like with Black ops 3, it's so mainstream and will fade away. Both of them are good, but if you prefer bigger GB then BO3 is the console for you. I wish I did open mines, but I got to excited because the Console looks flawless. Everyone in this review mention want comes with the console so won't get on detail on that. I other words, this is the best looking PS4 Limited Edition.
4.5 stars - Great Darth Vader theme console but....
November 21, 2015
Love the Darth Vader imprinted jet back PS4 and it feels like an upgrade compared to my last PS4. I understand that most people are complaining about the 500GB hard drive that comes with it and not 1TB, most games that are downloaded through the Playstaion Store are usually 60GB in size and that will fill up the 500GB really fast and that is not including the downloaded content with physical disks. I'm planning on upgrading it with a 1TB SSD soon, 2TB if it will allow me.As for the Battlefront released by EA......Completed disgrace to the Battlefront series from the 6th generation on console gaming. It fells like a huge set back from the original Battlefront. Only 4 maps, no galactic conquest, no clone wars (for now at least), and no space battles. I'll stick to Battlefront 2 on Steam. Now the 4 Star Wars downloads that come with the bundle, really loved them. I'm currently playing Bounty Hunter since it was my favorite star wars game from the PS2. I will play the other ones soon and hope that they are just as good.
Impressive! MOST impressive!
November 18, 2015
This review is for the actual console/bundle itself NOT the Star Wars: Battlefront - Deluxe Edition - game. You can read plenty of reviews about the actual Battlefront gameplay which has received some very mixed reviews. The limited edition "Darth Vader" console, however, is absolutely stunning! If you have been looking for a reason to buy a PS4, this is it! If you're a Star Wars fan and gamer, this is a must-have purchase. The console's sleek and elegant design evocative of Darth Vader with a polished glossy black finish. The face has an embossed Star Wars logo pattern etched all over with a white profile of the Dark Lord himself boldly emblazoned on it. This is NOT some cheap printed decal slapped on the face of PS4! It comes with a unique "Darth Vader" inspired Dualshock 4 controller that invokes Vader's ominous chest plate with red, white and blue buttons. The front of the controller has an LED light that glows blue, yellow, and red depending on how charged the battery is. Yes, it also includes the charging cable. It would have been nice if a second DS4 Darth Vader controller had been included but EA has at least made it available to purchase separately but only at Walmart. The bundle includes everything for the ultimate Star Wars fan:- Star Wars: Battlefront - Deluxe Edition - This is a physical copy and NOT a digital download code! The Deluxe Edition includes 5 additional weapons/items including Han Solo's DL-44 blaster and unlocks two new maps set on Jakku from the upcoming The Force Awakens available to play on December 1st, 2015.- A voucher code for 4 additional retro Star Wars video game classics:- Super Star Wars - This is a conversion of the original SNES Super Star Wars game which I loved so much back in the early 90's. It's a side-scroller shooter but it's a lot of fun. When I heard that this was one of the games they included in the bundle, I was instantly sold even though I own the original SNES game cart. The graphics have been "upscaled" so they look better than playing it native on the SNES console with composite video. You can keep it in its original 4:3 aspect ratio with Star Wars wallpaper or stretch to fill a 16:9 display. You can also save the progress of your game.- Star Wars Bounty Hunter - A direct port of this classic PS2 3rd person shooter where you play as bounty hunter Jango Fett set in the crime underworld of scum and villainy somewhere between Episodes I and II.- Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter - Another retro PS2 port where you pilot the Prequel-era Jedi Starfighter as Adi Gallia with events leading up to the beginning of the Clone Wars.- Star Wars Racer Revenge - Now THIS is Pod Racing! It would have been nice if they had also included digital copies of SNES Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi. Hopefully these will be available to purchase from the Playstation Store at some point. It would also have been nice if they had included more catalog titles like Dark Forces and Battlefront 1 and 2 so I didn't have to go back and play them on the older console. It's still a great bundle for the avid Star Wars fan and if you are looking for a reason to make the jump into hyperspace and buy a PS4 this is the best reason to buy one.

Ahhhhh It works flawlessly! With the SD2SNES, normal SNES games, NES games, multiple NES games in 1 cartridge, original SNES controllers and third party cord extensions. The only thing I would like is the ability to plug my NES controllers into it too but it doesn't take anything out of the experience.

April 19, 2016
Received sooner than expected, packaging was great, it even came with a handle on the box for easy carrying! Have used it several times and it works perfect! It's exactly as described and depicted in the photo. The controllers wires are a little short for me but thankfully I still have my original ones which I'm able to use! There's also no release button so you have to pull the game out with a little force which is a little bit unsettling, however I don't think it created a problem. I highly recommend this! If you're pondering on it, just get it. Trust me.
Works perfect!
February 23, 2016
This things is seriously great! I bought this for my wife on Valentine's day because she's always loved playing Super Mario World on their families game console. I had been looking up some vintage systems that were going to cost over $100 to purchase, and not all of them even looked to be in that good of shape. So I was happily surprised to see this system that could play BOTH NES and SNES! Since we plugged it in it's worked flawlessly with the games we've played (Mario World, Donkey Kong). Honestly save yourself $60+ and get this system instead of an old possibly damaged machine. Great buy!*** I really used this product and will continue to do so unless a flaw comes about in an untimely manner at which point, I will update my review and post pictures (if possible) with the problem. If this review was helpful to you please push the YES button below. Thanks so much!

Perfect except for backwards compatibility!
April 15, 2016
We love Star Wars and we love this PS4!This was a gift for our 6 year old son (and husband) for Christmas! First of all, there is the WOW factor. The fact that Darth Vader is actually on the console is awesome. My son loves it. The one controller that comes with it is also based on Darth Vader's colors and says Star Wars on it. It came 4 Star Wars games that had to be downloaded and my son likes all four. They are older Star Wars games, but to a 6 year old Star Wars fan they are still cool. It also came with Battlefront and I have been told that it was awesome. My husband and son play that together all the time. They just fight over who gets the cool Star Wars controller and who gets the plain white one that we bought afterwards. The only thing we hate is a BIG hate. You can not play old PS3 games on this console. What is up with PlayStation? You can do this with other consoles. I know they want to make money, but this is ridiculous. I don't want to keep 2 consoles. Nor do I want to buy all the same games again. This is a big gripe. HUGE. But, this console is very very cool for Star Wars fans and highly recommended.Just remember that you CAN NOT play your PS3 games. Get with the times PlayStation and listen to your audience before you lose us all to Xbox!
Vader special edition PS4
March 1, 2016
I am a huge star wars fan and the fit and finish overall is really well done on the console and controller. As a console it works like all other PS4s. The only downsides are the glossy finish on the console and controller both are magnets for finger prints and dust but same finish as the standard console. The only other item i would have loved is custome sounds on start up and ejecting the discs. The R2 360 did and it made the console feel more like a special edition with those bells and whistles.
Beautiful Console, Sub Par Game...
January 22, 2016
This will be brief review of both the console and the game. First off, the console itself is awesome. The Darth Vader etching is really cool, and the accompanying controller is a great complement. This is perfect for any Star Wars fan. As for the game, well that's a different story. Many of my concerrns have already been echoed here by others. Graphically, its beautiful, but gameplay is lacking. I really wanted to have an engaging story mode and immerse myself completely into the missions that I grew to love from the movies, but that was not meant to be. The Disney Infinity version actually had the compelling gameplay that I wish Battlefront had, but I understand that multiplayer was the target audience for this game. My pet peeve was playing the missions as Luke or Darth and then die by the hands of a rebel soldier or a storm tropper...come on man, that never happens, I've got the force!!!Perhaps when the DLCs come out, some of those aspects will be addressed, but I don't think we should have to pay extra for that.
Good system but falls short of perfect. Incredibly beautiful none the less
January 19, 2016
Beautiful system. simply gorgeous. However, PS4 doesn't play music CDs and isn't backwards compatible. Plus, you have to pay to play online, as opposed to free-play-online with the previous system. What saved the rating was that this was just such a beautiful theme system with 'Star Wars' etched onto the system and remote. Plus you get 4 great download games. Definitely replace the hard drive once you buy one. I put a 750GB drive in there, not as much as i'd like to put, but better than only having 500GB. Still a good system and easier menu to understand than the first time I saw the PS3 menu but definitely could use more features. Doesn't support AC/N wifi signals and I think it doesn't have Bluetooth 4.0.
Awesome package
January 17, 2016
Plays great, looks, great, packaged nice/safe. Vader on the side is awesome and the special controller is too sweet. The battlefront game is fun and pretty good too! Rank 14! Lol. 4 stars only for the fact i had pre ordered it and still got it 2 days after release while other friends were already playing because they chose store pickup. Otherwise totally satisfied.
It's a blast, but more bang for your buck with Fallout 4
November 30, 2015
I've been anxiously awaiting a next generation Battlefront game for years--not just as a casual gamer, but as a Star Wars fan since childhood. I'll raise a little rabble and agree that the omission of Galactic Conquest or a deeper single player campaign is palpable, but that doesn't stop this game from being a really fun (albeit spawn-die-repeat) online multiplayer game. The variety of game modes adds a lot of replay value, as does the points/upgrade system. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and it's no hyperbole when I say I'm living my childhood dreams when I play because of the beautifully immersive worlds and careful attention to the smallest details to place players inside the Star Wars universe, whether players battle on-foot or take to the sky. Adding to the depth of the experience, music throughout the game relies heavily on a remarkable and appropriate original score to complement the standard John Williams fanfare.Fanboy accolades aside: You should probably buy Fallout 4 first. Despite the great job they did building a fun and beautiful game, EA definitely deserves the ire they've drawn from customers regarding how they're handling the release of DLC. The game isn't nearly deep enough for the $60 price tag, only for EA to tell customers that to get the "full" experience, they'll need to pay an additional $50. If they continue developing and publishing the franchise, I hope they'll invest in packaging the value a bit better for the sake of their customers (but hey, there's profit to be had).As for the special edition system, I couldn't have asked for a cooler reason to buy a PS4. It's a great collectible for a fan. I paid the price of a standard PS4 and essentially got the game free.Enjoy.

Works alright, some games wouldn't play.
September 29, 2017
This device works well to play NES and SNES games. When the device worked I didn't have any problems at all. However I did run into a couple of issues with it playing certain video games. These are games that I've played within the past year and were working at that time. I can't say for certain that the issue is this device, but signs point to that. So while it may not work for every game it does work great for the games that it will play.

Reliable and fun with a few tips to help it work better.
April 7, 2015
Bought one of these a while back and meant to post a review. This machine works really well for what it is. It's a means to play outdated video games reliably and it serves that purpose. You may have to blow into you cartridge just like you did back in the day in between being pummeled by your older brother trying to get a turn at mario 3. The controllers have a lag but if you buy an original snes controller from a smelly weirdo at a nostalgia video game store for 20 bucks you'll be just fine. The best tip I can provide is if you are playing on an hdtv switch it to GAME MODE. This will dramatically Decrease the amount of lag between the controller and what's happening on screen. Over all its been reliable and fun.
Pleasently Surprised
November 28, 2014
I don't hear any difference in the sound. I played "Faxanadu" on the original, then on this system. It sounded the same. The colors are a little different, the colors are a lot darker, like the bluish purple in "Iron Sword" was a purple, but it didn't really bother me. The controls are smooth and actually better than my old NES controllers because I think those are getting kind of old or maybe they were just like that.I just didn't like the grinding sound it made when I pushed the cartridge in. The SNES is fine too. The controllers look like they could go in an old SNES console.
A Decent System
March 3, 2013
I purchased this because I found about 30 old SNES games in a box that have been in storage for almost 2 decades and really wanted to play them. All of the games work, and I've read that people were having trouble playing some titles such as Super Mario All-Stars. It worked for me. I think I read somewhere that it will not play some Super Famicom or "PAL" cartridges. In fact, if you look up "Retro Duo" on Wikipedia, it will give you a list of known incompatible titles. The only real complaints I have are the controllers. The Directional pad is very clunky and for anyone who likes playing classic Mario Bros. or other platform games will get pretty frustrated with it. I haven't tried plugging in the original SNES controllers, but according to many sources, the original controllers work on the system very well. Also, the system is real light and you could easily crush it if you accidentally stepped on it for sure. Overall, though, plays great for SNES games (I haven't tried any NES games yet). I'd recommend it for the price, if you're not clumsy and tend to break things easily and if you already have an original SNES controller.
Play Old Games!
November 27, 2012
This works great to play old games, though, like others, I have a hard time getting the NES cartridges in and out. BUT if you have a ton of old games with no working console, it's a lot of fun and priced really well for the hours of enjoyment you will likely reap from it. I have had no problems playing any of my games on it.The controllers do leave a bit to be desired. They are set up like SNES controllers, so for NES games, it does not quite feel the same. They are also not very high quality. In addition, the cables are too short for my liking. They're actually pretty similar in length (have not measured) to the cables for the original systems. However, back then, people sat a lot closer to their smaller TVs when gaming. Now, most people have larger TVs and need to sit further away, which is made difficult by the cable length.Despite a few flaws, I am really happy that I purchased this and can now play my NES and SNES games.

When working no issues and good graphics.
October 5, 2016
Hardware errors and issues with the controller not being recognized. Research shows these to be very common problems that require owners to do a lot of woek or send for service. Unacceptable product quality. Should be a recall and make sony do it right. When working no issues and good graphics.
I love the ps4 and Battlefront is a great game
June 6, 2016
Don't get me wrong, I love the ps4 and Battlefront is a great game. The Darth Vader on the top of the system looks pretty dang cool too. But, beware of buying it used. Mine kept crashing in the middle of games and I had to return it. I'm sure this won't happen to all of them, but if you can, buy it new.
Overall disappointing
December 26, 2015
First off, let me comment on the reason why I bought this particular bundle, my PS3 was acting up way too much, it's the Star Wars limited edition and it has Darth Vader etched on it and what's cooler than that? However, that is the only attractive thing about this console. The design of the console itself is an ugly, clunky box with angles that's hardly worthy of "future technology". Frankly, if I can draw it with a ruler, there wasn't much effort put into the design. I included an early concept rendering of what the design of the PS4 should look like. I would characterize the performance of it as adequate with an interface that's not as user friendly as the PS3. The new generation controller is better but the charging port is difficult to plug into so much so that I'm always worried about breaking it. Add to that the lack of backwards compatibility and overall the console is somewhat of a disappointment. Kind of wish now I had bought the Call of Duty bundle instead.
Amazing console marred by a terrible game and Amazon's fumbling of download codes.
December 20, 2015
First off let me be clear and state that I love this PS4, if it was just the console it would be a 5/5, however when its bundled with such a bad game it really takes away from it. Give me the console on its own and I would be very happy. My biggest concern however, and this seems to be all amazon, is that I never received the download codes for the four star wars classics. I have spoken to Amazon customer service for more hours than I would like to admit and I still do not have the code or games. Be wary of buying consoles from Amazon as I don't believe they even know what they are selling. It's really to bad.
Great console
December 11, 2015
The game consol and is great. But our control stopped charging like a month after we started using it. So now it doesnt work off the charger which is annoying. But the darth vader ps4 looks great we love it
Great graphics, but cheaply made and everything has to be purchased separately (even with a price tag of $400)
December 4, 2015
I would have given this an additional star, but I was very disappointed that for such an expensive item I had to purchase my own stand (for an additional $21). Also, the remote is cheaply made and already showed signs of wear after one week.

Very fun to play the old games
February 5, 2016
Very fun to play the old games. The games fit very tight and I worry that its gonna break the system pulling them out and inserting them. It does feel cheaply made. SNES play great and NES are like the old system, you gotta blow like crazy. The 3 stars is because it is very cheaply constructed, but also lightweight. The controller cord pulled out of the control from minimal use. Still works but seems like it is cheaply constructed. Just remember with this you get what you pay for but it will do the trick.

November 10, 2015
System works as advertised, however the controllers and wires are incredibly cheap. Within a few months I had to replace the power cable as wires were coming out of the adapter and I felt it was unsafe. The controller wore out after a few months of moderate use, buttons were much less responsive, almost 'mushy' and two, the top right and the A buttons became completely useless. I went out and bought a used snes controller which has fared much better, even being as old as it is.
Christmas gift
May 9, 2013
I bought this for my wife as one of her Christmas gifts, he has a lot of old games for the SNES and NES. She had always wanted to hook up both systems and have a game night, I figured this would make it easier to play by only having one system to use.Pros~Most of the games she had work on this system.Brings back memories of playing when we were younger.Fairly inexpensive.Cons~Controllers feel a bit small and use the same controller for both NES and SNESSeems to be made of cheap plastic, we have only had had it for a few months but I am not sure how long it will last.If you want to play old games and don't want to have two systems hooked up then this is it, but just know that it seems a little fragile. Other than that its fun.
Works great, except for distorted audio.
December 11, 2010
It's really great to have my NES games back in the rotation.I got this mainly because my original NES was taking a lot of abuse from my child, and I knew it wouldn't last long if not protected. So I got this hoping it would play the games decently until my son is old enough to be more careful with "classic" electronic devices. It does just that, but as I noticed right away, and he put so eloquently tonight "What's wrong with the sound, daddy?" - the audio is overdriven out of the synthesizer. Not just a little, and not to the point of total distortion, but I wish there were a potentiometer I could adjust with a screwdriver to down the gain before it is sent out the output ports. First I thought it was due to the fact that the output is a stereo pair instead of monoural like the classic NES, but it turns out that it's simply monoural audio, the same channel, out both ports, and both are distorted. It's not noticable for "quieter" games (Tetris comes to mind - it's not immediately noticeable, and is tolerable) but ruins games like Zelda and any of the Super Mario trilogy. If this is important to you, I'd keep looking. Though this is the only thing I've tried, I'm inclined to try another before I resort to building a full-on MAME cabinet and use an emulator on the media PC at the heart of it.-jre
It is what it is, not much else.
November 13, 2010
Well, what can I say about this console? I think I would have been better off with an NES and SNES separately. For one, being it's a top loader, the Game Genie cartridges are really tough to get in and out, and being I am a compulsive game cheater, that's a huge problem for me. The SNES is a little easier, but the NES, forget about it. It's always sticking in there, and I swear I'm damaging it at least a little each time I put it in and out. If that's not enough, the controllers suck. I never got the chance to play with the stock SNES controllers before, but I have to assume that they are better than these monstrosities. Being that there isn't analog sticks, you're stuck to using a D-pad. So naturally, you'd think that they'd focus on making the D-pad the best they could. It gets sticky sometimes, and a lot of times points down when I'm going left or right. Get the SN Propad, a turbo controller made for the SNES. Unfortunately, I got one with a broken left button, so I'm constantly switching from the standard to the Propad. I'm limited in games such as Contra III, in the overhead stages, and Doom, when I want to strafe. Anyways, back on the subject of the console. The games, especially NES, tend to stick in the slots, even without Game Genie. Like I said before, getting the NES Game Genie in and out is a HUGE problem. It's really stuck in there each time. You need to press one hand against the console and the other hand tugging out the game. If you've ever shot arrows in a bullseye board, then you know what I mean when I compare it to when you have to pull the arrows out of the board. The technology is so convenient in its design, there is an S-video cable as well as RCA, and the cables are neatly organised and stuck together, so, the Retro Duo might be worth getting. However, I'd take a look at some other consoles first. Don't be drawn in by its sleek black and red design. Then again, it's worth a look, and it definitely is a new and old gaming experience you're bound to enjoy.
good for a cheap console
October 2, 2010
this system isn't bad you can tell its cheaply built though, second snes game i put in caused the system to start emitting snow lines on the television, put the first game back in and low and behold same thing so when I pulled out the first game I must have knocked the system so like I said cheaply built. the other reviewers don't accurately describe how hard it is to pull the NES cartridges out, you have to essentially pick up the console, lock one arm straight and pull with the second stronger arm to get the game out, and you really have to tug. With a cheap console and hard to take out games you see how easily this thing can break.play wise so far I haven't had any compatibility issues and the games have worked well, I was even able to play kirby super stars and master blaster so it works great on that end. As others have said the controllers are light and you are limited to SNES controllers, would have been nice though if I could change the configuration of the buttons before playing the game but this console isn't set up for that. Also this console is tiny, if you have ever had a dvd player with like a 6inch screen the console is about the same size and height, and its light enough that you can easily pull the console off of any shelf almost without a any effort. Finally I will say this it does the job but be very careful when removing the games and make sure that whoever you buy it from adds a little more packaging than a box because it is that fragile and sensitive

January 1, 2016
Purchased as a Christmas present for my son as he is a big SW fan. He hooked it up and went to play it and no video. Tried multiple TVs and HDMI cables, still no video. Even updated TV firmware, but it did not work. Waited 40mins for Sony PlayStation support only to be told that his console needs to be shipped back for repair. I would have exchanged it on Amazon, but this model was sold out by the time we found the issue. Apparently this was a problem with some of the first versions of the PlayStation 4 early on. Giving it 2 stars as he is still happy he got it... but is now having to wait to play it. I will update the review when he gets the console back and plays it.

Usually see these four sixty bucks around town so fourty seemed like a good deal. Plays carts ok but sound quality is horrible returned first console thinking it was a defective item second one is a little better but not by much but it does play the games for a decent price point
Ok for the price

Pros: Plays NES and SNES games, cheapCons: the controllers that it come with are really cheap feeling, and the buttons are not very responsiveIn addition to this, you might want to buy a OEM SNES controller to have the real feel of the gamesSNES controller input only, no NES controller inputOK for the price
Two consoles, both began giving blank screens after a short time.
December 30, 2015
2 Stars because I was able to return and replace the first console I purchased that ended up giving a blank screen after 3 days. Unfortunately, It's been 3 months and now the replacement console is doing the same thing. It's outside of the return date otherwise I would be requesting a return without a replacement this time around. Not sure if I just got two lemons back to back, but not worth the money in my experience.

Game console works but the controllers are just not the same as a real snes controller. Seems to be a delay in the buttons and directional pad. I do like that you can have two types of cartridges in the slots at the same time so it's really easy to switch from nes to snes games with just a switch of the button.
One of the controllers didn't work
February 4, 2014
I nearly never write poor reviews because I nearly never get poor products, but this was a bum deal. I've been wanting to play my old SNES games that I found (The original console is long gone) so I found this, read some reviews, and figured it wouldn't be too bad. When I set everything up, the console worked well, played the game, but my controller wouldn't respond to anything. I messed with it and got it to respond, but even then it was wonky and would restart the game whenever I pushed the B button. The other controller works fine so I shouldn't complain too much, but the fact that part of the product I paid for came faulty really miffs me. I guess I'll just go to my local game shop and buy another controller.
Either super tight or irreparably loose
May 6, 2013
I bought this to play my Super NES Mario games as well as the NES games. The NES cartridges are so loose that they do not even play. The Super NES (16 bit) slot holds onto the games so tightly that I often worry that I amgoing to damage my games pulling them out!I also am having trouble saving games on this console....it does not save like the original Super NES did inthe past. I may end up returning this is I have any more problems.EDIT: I reduced it another star due to the fact that it has issues saving. It has now erased 4 saved games; games with significant progress on them.It looks like I will be returning this for a different console.

poor product at best
September 18, 2016
Shame on Sony for releasing a defective product. PS4 console looks amazing and worked great for an hour. Then it has been touch and go. First few months it worked 2/3 of the time. With each passing month, it took more tries to get it to start up. Last 3 months, 90% of the time it attempts to power up and dies, and if by a miracle it succeeds in turning on, it shuts down after an hour or two of game play. Last two days it stopped turning on. Yes, it died in less than a year. What a waste of $$ and time on our family's first and last PS4.
Problems

Very often my ps4 does the blue light of death thing and i have to fiddle with it to eventually some how get it working not one method works everytime, right now it hasnt been able to turn on in a week, is this what i paid for, my ps3 never did this, wtf
Shame on Sony

The PS4 doesn't turn on half the time. Decides to turn off in the middle of gaming or watching a movie. I've owned PS1, PS2, and PS3 and they all still work after all these years without a problem. Shame on Sony for releasing this poorly engineered system.
Remote trigger stopped working 4 days of being used.
January 3, 2016
I just have to say that after four days of using the special star wars edition remote the trigger button stopped working. So I contacted Sony which is not an easy process either and I will have to pay shipping back to them for an item that is clearly not of good quality if it doesn't last 4 days. We've had a PS3 for two years and the remotes never broke, but this one last 4 days so we bought another one and I just hope this identical 60.00 remote works longer than 4 days. Really in shock that the customer has to pay shipping back on item after not having it a week. Great customer service.Looking online this trigger issue is very common this is just very disappointing.
Beware save the packaging

This PS4 only worked for about 2hrs before receiving the blue light of death and we had to return it.

Almost immediately after purchasing, The PS4 will not boot properly. I basically have to hold it upside down while blowing it and frantically mashing the power button and if I'm very lucky, it might come on. Apparently it's a common problem by Sony using a cheap plastic clip on one of the processors; there's a few forums dedicated to the issue. Also, DVD playback sucks; picture quality is horrible. Whatever you do, do not get PSN subscription. It's a huge hassle to get it canceled. I apparently screwed it up after going into settings as their directions stated. Next I tried to contact them. Finding their phone number to reach a live person is next to impossible. They want you to use "chat," instead. Works great until you don't have a computer or a PlayStation as both were sitting in a connex box at the time. Anyways, I wasted another ten minutes on hold to cancel and get refunded my subscription. It was very frustrating that Sony could just tap into my PayPal account whenever, without me being able to turn it off. Going back to XBOX after this. Oh and in case you were wondering, battlefront sucks.

Does not all work

Nes part does not work, only the super nes part works.
Stopped working after 6 weeks.
September 23, 2017
This worked for 6 weeks and now itโ€™s malfunctioning. Itโ€™s not the games as I have 15 games and they all arenโ€™t working. Donโ€™t buy unless 6 weeks is all you are looking for.
Didn't work
September 6, 2017
Didn't work. Returned and replaced twice. None of them worked for me. I ended up using a free emulator on my laptop with a USB controller.
What a waste of money
July 27, 2017
This thing stopped outputting video after 30 minutes of playing it. What a waste of money. Definitely sending it back. Don't buy it it'll crush all those childhood memories you want to relive.
Only lasted a few months.

I bought this gaming system around November 2015, and started using it in December. By May, it stopped working. I noticed it getting kind of touchy and slow, and left it alone for awhile. To this day it refuses to work, and I am extremely disappointed since the SNES is my favorite console from my childhood and am now trying to find one that can handle being used on a regular basis. Perhaps this is a good system for the casual gamer who will play their SNES one or two times a month, but from my experience this system was not prepared to be a regular gaming console.
