Five Star Reviews: | 58% 2 years going strong March 28, 2017 I have had this for 2 years now and I use it mostly in the winter months (Oct-April here in Maine) and it has been working out great. Seems to be holding with 3-4x a week use. I love this bike January 11, 2017 I love this bike! I am 5'5 and it fits me perfectly. The handlebars are great and the seat is really comfortable. It is wider than a spin bike at the gym but I like it better because I don't get "saddle sore". It took me about 45 minutes to put together by myself. I use this for at home spinning classes. The tension can get REALLY heavy and it is easy to adjust on the fly. I would 110% recommend this bike to anyone who is looking for a quality bike on a budget. Fantastic!!! (and I'm not easy to please...) March 17, 2016 Excellent quality. Very heavy (box says 62 lb). Stable. Comfortable seat. Incredibly quiet (no noise at all). Looks good (red flywheel). Every part (even nuts and bolts) is better than expectations. Adjustable (up-down, forward-back). My wife (5'3") is on 3rd lowest and I (6') on higher setting. Personally I like the flywheel system. Felt brake makes it harder/easier to pedal. Completely quiet. This company makes more expensive bikes and this is their entry model, but it looks of same quality as triple the price. Not sure what the higher priced ones have but this is perfect. There is even a trip computer. Assembly required but excellent instructions with detailed drawings (so rare). Parts are in bags labeled Step 1, Step 2, etc. If you read the instructions thoroughly, you won't have a problem assembling it. VERY RARE TO FIND A WELL-PRICED PRODUCT WHICH EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS THESE DAYS. I couldn't recommend it more! You won't be disappointed. I really can't think of a better bike. It does click and growl but overall wonderful September 18, 2015 I had no issues assembling it. In fact, I was able to be on the phone with family while assembling it (45 mins). I just recently got it (2 days ago) and got around to putting it together today.I gave it a test run for 10 mins. This cycle does produce a light growl and repetitive click. This might vex some people but if you possess meditative focus or have music to listen to... it will not bother you. Also, if you are in a complex, I would suggest using it during the times they are not at home or when they are awake. I have not determined if they can hear it but in case they do... I will use it during the times it will not inconvenience them. Highly recommended. Super stable, easy to assemble and great experience overall November 28, 2014 I'm impressed. I read the reviews, but honestly, was a little skeptical of the overall quality of this bike just due to the great price... well, it is SOLID. Adjustable seat position for height and forward position and adj. feet makes it work on nearly any flooring. Also, this is probably the SIMPLEST piece of equipment to assemble.. finally, someone has figured out a way to organize the instructions and items needed for each step!! The nuts/bolts are pre-divided into little bags labeled with the step they are needed for.. no more searching for that #4 bolt, A1 washer and some other thing-a-ma-bobber. Nice! Overall, I would buy this bike again and again.. very happy with the purchase! | 44% Mostly Awesome But.... April 24, 2017 its awesome but the seat has to be replaced. Its hard as rock and it will damage your personal parts if you use it with that seat. OUCH only bad thing so faroh one foot was dented from the factory. Know this because the box was not dented or even torn. so it was put in the box that way. I banged it back to fit the bottom with a hammer. not the prettiest fix but good to go for use. :-( Great Ride October 23, 2015 I really love this bike. It's a smooth, steady, well-balanced spin bike. The digital display is quite simple - so nothing fancy there, but gives you the pertinent information that you need. It's super heavy, so if you are light-weight like me, you won't be able to move it around much even with the wheels. Even though I love the bike, I have one gripe about Nautilus or Schwinn (whomever is responsible). The box the bike came in was damaged but it did look like it hurt the bike until I started assembly. To get the bike out of the box, I had to cut the box apart - no lifting it out for me. I carried all of the pieces to where I wanted it placed in my basement. When I started to assemble the bike, I noticed that one of the lower supports that needs to bolt onto the floor crossbar was bent so badly that it wouldn't bolt on. Because the two pieces are made of heavy gauge steel, you can't just unbend it and make it work.I took a bunch of pictures and proceeded to contact the vendor. A week goes by and no response. I contacted them again. Again, no response. I finally contacted a friend of mine who works with metal. He was able to come over and bend it back in the right shape so that I could bolt it together. Thanks but no thanks Nautilus/Schwinn! It's now been 2 months since I first contacted them and still not a word. That being said, now that I have it put together, it's a great product. Great, durable May 6, 2015 Great, durable, sturdy bike. Only problem (but not really a problem) was a few scratches when I took it out the box but I didnt purchase it to look at it nor were the scratches major. Mine does not make noise, the seat is fine esp if ur use to riding and those who want a spin bike for the workout won't be sitting on the seat much anyway. I get good resistance, haven't had any problem so far. Heights in the house hold range from 5'7" to 6'3" therefore the bike is accommodating to all parties. All in all would purchase another one as a gift. I cannot say enough about how much I love this bike April 1, 2015 I cannot say enough about how much I love this bike! I am a competitive fitness athlete and purchased it for the purposes of fasted cardio before starting my work day. Comfortable, easy to assemble, great ride--no problem with the level of resistance from the flywheel only offering 31 lbs. of resistance... any spin enthusiast truly using it as a spin bike for 45+ minute ride will get a great workout! It is sturdy and easy to assemble January 24, 2015 I use it everyday. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. Great bike. Great price December 5, 2014 Great bike. Great price. I was hesitant to purchase after reading all the reviews about the packaging problems but mine arrived safely with only minimal damage to the styrofoam inside the box. Very easy to assemble. No issues with strange noises, the seat is not horribly uncomfortable as another owner stated, and it's simple to use. Cadence is smooth. I do wish the handle bars were adjustable, but it wasn't worth paying for the more expensive model. This is the same bike we have at my office (PT office and it been heavily used for over 4 years). I'd buy this again or buy it as a gift. Love it!! |
Four Star Reviews: | 25% It's pretty decent for the price January 9, 2017 It's pretty decent for the price. Packaging was a little bit of a pain--things were packed so tightly together and EVERYTHING was taped to everything else, so unboxing it was probably a bigger hassle than the actual assembly. The way the pedals are packed so tightly together squishes one of them so I have to use my hands to lift the plastic and get my shoe in. The instructions aren't great, but I'm a tech writer and I will find fault with everything. The little tools included for assembly are kind of worthless, especially when mounting the seat. Overall, it's a decent bike for light use for a great price. Great bike, minor issues but otherwise amazing. November 30, 2016 This has served me very well so far and I enjoy using it very much, there are a couple of minor issues with it though hence the 4/5 stars. Firstly, the pedals, there's nothing technically wrong with them, but for an "Indoor Cycling Bike" they don't really work. They are all steel, sharp edged, and even have reflectors on them (I guess for when you take it out and bike in the road?) They are deathly uncomfortable unless you are wearing shoes, something I'd imagine most people working out in the comfort of their own home aren't going to be wearing. I bought another set of pedals for $10 and used these ones on an old mountain bike that needed them, worked great! Secondly, though I haven't had the issue myself, my wife and my sister-in-law both complained of severe buttock pain after using this for a relatively short time. I'm unsure the reason for this but since the only people complaining have been women I wonder if that is somehow related. Other than these relatively minor complaints this is an excellent machine, it is well built, solid, obviously pretty high quality manufacturing, i'd buy it again, not that i'll need to as I foresee it lasting quite a while indeed. It has survived 6 months so far with daily use by myself and sometimes others too. I'd definitely recommend it. Had some damage, but still works fine November 5, 2016 When I started putting the bike together, found out the frame was bent where you attach one of the stabilizer bars. I used a pry bar on it and got it open enough to attach the bar. The frame is all scratched and bent up but it faces to the floor, so you cannot see it. I took a before photo. Once I got the frame pried open enough, it was fairly simple to put together. I did notify Amazon and they offered to send someone to pack it up and return it for a replacement, or a 30% refund. I have used the bike for 4 days and the defect doesn't affect the performance so I opted for the 30%. I really like the bike, it doesn't take up much space and I moved it easily from the room I put it together in, to another room without much difficulty. Decent Bike for the Price - Seat and handlebar settings don't change as much as I'd like... September 22, 2015 Overall I like this bike a lot for the price.... I typically go to spin class at the local gym. I got so hooked I decided to get a bike for the home. For the price this is an great bike. You can pretty significantly vary the amount of resistance and the quality of the actual bike is pretty solid, it is not wobbly at all. This bike came in a compact box and was easy to set up, took a total of maybe 15 minutes. The only reason why I did not give it a full five star review is that I do not think that the seat and height settings truly make it a one size fits all bike. I probably should have sprung for a more expensive bike if that was a priority but I didn't realize until I received this bike that it really did matter that much to me. The handle bar does not move up and down, the seat can only move slightly from front to back and again slightly in height. At the end of the day it gets the job done, I get a good workout but I do miss the comfort I feel when using the more expensive spin bikes at the gym. Great bike for the price! July 22, 2014 As a cycling instructor, I wanted a spin bike to use at home. For the price, this bike was a great deal. I don't love it as much as the schwinn bikes I use in class. But overall a great at home bike. | 22% Great bike, super sturdy and feels like it will last a long time August 24, 2017 Pros: Very sturdy, well built, easy to put together, easy to drag around.Cons: The seat hurts after a few minutes (I'll buy a thicker seat or cover for it though, easy fix), I like to ride barefoot and the pedals have metal spikes on them for tracking (easy fix, I'll replace the pedals with flat ones), the box was shredded to bits (the box isn't sturdy enough for the weight of the bike, so not fully UPSs fault). Luckily nothing fell out of the box during shipping as a result of the partially open end of it. I like the distance/speed measurement July 28, 2017 Decent build quality. I like the distance/speed measurement, but I with that there was better system for measuring the resistance. The resistance is just a felt pad that rubs on the wheel, so it's hard to get it consistent between rides. easy to use and fits nicely in my office space July 27, 2017 No frills work out. The first bike was damaged, but previous reviews had warned of this problem. The replacement was damage-free and assembled fairly quickly by my brother who is familiar with workout equipment. I use the bike about 3 times per week. It is simple, solid, easy to use and fits nicely in my office space. Moving it around is easy when I vacuum. Great bike. Just what I needed for an at-home ... November 11, 2015 Great bike. Just what I needed for an at-home workout. Only complaint is that the bike came with noticeable scratches. First time that's ever happened for me with any Amazon order. Very nice bike, has a little noise since chain driven January 20, 2015 Very nice bike, has a little noise since chain driven, but not to bad, seat as others have mentioned a little small and hard, but can be replaced if you want to. Picked this bike over others since it had a monitor for miles, calories, time, and distance, very hard to find in this price range. More refinement will cost considerably more. Having the monitor a bonus, you want to know about any improvement you have made and a little motivator to do a little more. Comes with batteries, more expensive models might need to be plugged in, thus limiting where you place bike, extension cords in middle of room not recommended. Also, trusted the Schwinn name over others. Amazon's free shipping a huge bonus, box does weigh around 100lbs, so something to consider. Great bike, but shipping experience may not be worth it. January 10, 2015 I have a long history with Schwinn products and for some reason I still buy them despite two consecutive annoying situations, the second one being the receipt of this bike. Is this bike awesomely priced? Yes. Does Schwinn make great products? Yes. My first Schwinn elliptical machine, which I bought used on Craigslist, STILL works after being moved from house to house to house to house in the back of a pickup truck... I bought it 6 years ago. I lost 60 lbs on that machine. My second Schwinn was broken after assembly and it took me forever to deal with it. But I digress-- I expected to have issues with this item's shipping when I bought it: I live in Alaska. Nonetheless, the item did show up when it was projected to. Sadly, when assembled, I noticed it came with big scratches, a rip in the cover of the handlebars, and most importantly a missing console. I am mildly annoyed that I was shipped an item that someone else returned, but hey, what do you expect for the price? This is a frequent issue with this company. It's not specifically Amazon's fault, either, they are just the middleman. That said, Amazon did credit me $70. I appreciate that. However, money does not solve my issue: I only have the option of returning the entire (assembled) bike for a new one. So, after speaking to Amazon I called Nautilus, who apologized profusely, gave me a free mat for the bike and said they'd ship me new parts for the broken ones (they can't ship me a new body, so the giant scratch will have to stay). Great. Thank you. Lo and behold, I call Nautilus a week later to ask what the status is and they tell me the consoles are back-ordered.What??These are the kinds of issues you can expect with these bikes. The bike has manual cranks, so I can still ride it, and the caloric burn is BS anyway, but it'd be nice to at the very least receive all the parts (even if damaged) and not be told I have to wait multiple months for a console that should have been in the box. How hard is to to ship all of the parts?? Come on. My expectations were low and I am still mildly disappointed... I would've been OK with the damaged parts; I even would've been OK with the missing console, but telling me I have to wait an unspecified amount of time to get one is really unacceptable. That said, I live in a condo the size of a lunchbox and was looking for a machine that fit adequately -- this is an amazing product for the price if you don't get hosed with shipping. I would take special precaution if you live in a rural area, and inspect the parts before you assemble the bike, because frequently your only option is to return the whole damn thing, which is an inconvenience to say the least. On the flipside, you can order exercise equipment online, and have it shipped to your house -- a miracle of our time, for those of you who may have forgotten that riding a spin bike in your living room while watching your plasma TV was not always an option. Manage your expectations and things may turn out OK... Schwinn does make great products, but have not quite fine-tuned the shipping experience. The bike works fine, perhaps someday I'll receive the console in the mail. Here's hoping. |
Three Star Reviews: | 8% Okay bike for a good price. July 19, 2017 The Bike is not very comfortabe but you get used to it, and I had to send it back since the first one I got was bent and pieces wouldn't attach because of it. The bike after a few uses makes loud terrible noises. So thats the negative, as far as the positives, its really cheap and it gets the job done. Watching youtube videos each day and being on the bike I went down 20 pounds in 4 months (diet helped too of course) so if you're looking for an okay affordable bike that you can sit on that has peddles then look no further. My other options were 4 times the price, so instead of buying one I had to share with my significant other, I decided to go cheap and buy 2 of these. At under 5'7 each the bike has helped us just fine until now. If you want something as a starter this is it, but if you want a more pro bike definitely look elsewhere. Love it! February 22, 2016 I did not want to invest in a gym membership! I knew that would be a waist of money for me. I was determined to incorporate exercise in my life other then walking and sit-ups. I can truly say this is one of the best things I've done for my health. I research before I purchase anything, and all reviews sounded good for this product as well as price. Bought online and received it in less then a week. Box was heavy but very dragable. I'm a woman of 54, 5'8" and 170 lbs.and put it together in about an hour and got it adjusted very easily. I was determined not to have it turn in to a clothes rack! I put it together in my office and moved my tv/dvr player in there as well. Love turning off the lights in the evening and watching a movie or series while riding! I don't focus on odometer. Seat was slightly uncomfortable at first, (I imagine all are) but I bought a gel seat cover to put over seat which helped tremendously! I've built up to riding 20 miles in a hour. Sad to say, but TV motivates me! I can tell it's tightened up my waist muscles, butt and my legs have really toned up as well. My weight started dropping about 3 weeks after I started riding because of building muscle tone. Will sometimes use my 5 lb. weights while I ride for my arms. I've had it for over a month and have had no problems. I think it's quiet-but what do I know, I'm watching tv.:) For the price, I highly recommend! Good value but not a great bike August 18, 2015 First let me say that this is a good bike and worth the money. You will get a good workout with this and it is very durable and doesn't take up a lot of room. If that's what you're looking for, this bike is a good value. However, it's not a particularly comfortable bike. The handle bars cause me to lean forward too far and they are not adjustable so you can't fix it. I can adjust the seat but in the if it is in a good position for my knees, it's not in a good position for my back. I am 5 foot 10 inches tall by the way. If I was any taller I would think the bike would be even more uncomfortable. The tension comes from a pad that presses on the flywheel. This is OK, but I find that it is not always consistent. For instance, if sweat hits the wheel it can affect the tension and for whatever reason I sometimes feel like the tension changes a little during workouts so I find myself adjusting it once in awhile. Also, the pad squeaks quite loudly. It works well and was easy to assemble April 28, 2015 What you would expect for a spinner of the price. It works well and was easy to assemble. It doesn't take up much room which is nice. It tracks how many calories you have burned and the distance you have traveled. My only complaint is really the tension settings. The bike works with a felt break pad to provide resistance. It creates friction and has a weird smell if you have the setting too tight. Overall, it has a different feel than any spinners I have used at the gym, but it was worth the money and serves its purpose for at home workout equipment. FYI This bike is not good for tall people October 1, 2014 FYI This bike is not good for tall people! The seat height is adjustable, however, I am 5'2" and I have to adjust the seat on the 4th setting. My husband is 6'3" and the highest seat placement is not tall enough for his legs to properly extend. This bike is certainly better for shorter folks. | 11% Compromise for an acceptable price - another one with shipping damage due to packaging method. December 6, 2016 Arrived with damage due to the way it is placed in the box when shipped. From review here, it sounds as if these types of issues tend to happen with this product due to the weight and the insufficient packaging method used. The metal ends were bent in, resulting in the paint in those areas to flake off exposing the bare metal. I really didn't want to return this 90+lb item so I worked with Amazon to come to an agreement on a partial refund, and used a rubber mallet to move the bent metal back into place enough to allow the stabilizing horizontal bars to be screwed in.As for the feel of the bike overall, it seems like a fair compromise for a good price on a brand name bike. The 31lb flywheel makes the bike feel cheaper than those with 40lb, and the adjustment screws need tightened every time to prevent wobble due to the loose tolerances. Chain is (as expected) noisier than a belt, but it's not overly loud. The computer is cheap/basic, and the dial for adjusting resistance reminds me of every shower in existence where 3/4 the dial does nothing, and 1/16 of the dial seems to be a night/day difference. As I said, I'm willing to live with these compromises for the price. I'd say go with this if you want to try out indoor cycling and are on a budget, and invest in something sturdier with a better feel once you know it's worth it for you. It's not bad as long as it's not making The Noise. December 30, 2015 I really wanted to love this bike, but after a few months of using it I find the friction brake that acts as a resistance modifier to be infuriating. It will start doing the awful screeching or moaning sound that others have described, and then I'll realign it, and it'll work for a while before it comes back. I don't regret buying it, but I'd not likely recommend it either if someone had a credible alternative. I think this is a great, entry level bike that is very affordable March 26, 2015 I think this is a great, entry level bike that is very affordable. It was easy to set up and it's fairly quiet. It does make a whinning sound when the resistance is up high but with headphones on, you can hardly hear it.Shortcomings: the computer output is pretty horrible honestly. It cycles through your speed, distance, RPMs, time, and calories burned. You have no way to stay on one read-out (like RPMs which is the only one I care about). It also doesn't have an output for torque or watts (information I also care about but isn't available). So you have no idea where you are resistance-wise other than feel. It makes it hard to have benchmarks or to follow a class where you have to adjust your resistance frequently. This is my biggest issue with the bike. Also, the handlebars do not move forwards and backwards, only up and down. To me, they're a little too close but I have longer arms. My boyfriend also uses the bike and has no complaints about the handlebar placement. The pedals do not allow for cycling shoes with cleats so I bought different pedals and haven't had an issue. It works great. It's very sturdy March 3, 2015 It works great. It's very sturdy. Only problem I'm having is when you increase the tension, the wheel makes a very high pitched squeaking noise. Overall, everything else is functioning. |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% This cause a shuddering and its very annoying. I can tell because the raised parts on ... March 2, 2017 Imagine you are road biking and keep having to ride over those raised pavement reflectors. The wheel is not perfectly round and drags at intermittent spots. This cause a shuddering and its very annoying. I can tell because the raised parts on the wheel have developed scuff marks. It would be a pain to disassemble and return. Also, as many other have complained its for short people I drilled 1 more hole in the seat bar to get it 1.25 inches higher. I am 5 10' and it is just right now. Cheap construction. Pedal broke off during use. December 30, 2016 We've been using this bike for about 6 months. About 3 months ago, we lost the ability to adjust the intensity, and just this week, the pedal snapped completely off! The metal of the crank actually broke in two, right where it attaches to the pedal! Contacted Sunny about material defect, and they claim that we are out of warranty. Good bike if you only plan to use it for 3 months.Update: We bought a second bike to replace the broken one (Sunny Fitness was out of the replacement part) and 6 months later THE SAME PART BROKE ON OUR NEW BIKE!!! Not great for me.... November 30, 2016 Probably a nice bike for anyone under 6'. I'm 6'2" and when I pedal, my legs never even come close to extending, they pretty much stay at 90 degree bend. Also, the seat is not comfortable for me at all. I don't have much cushioning on my 'back side' so maybe it's me, but after 30 minutes it becomes really uncomfortable and I experience numbness. I checked their website but they don't sell any alternate seats to change to. So for me, it's too small & the seat is really uncomfortable. You need a good shop to do this because it involves cutting wood February 7, 2016 This product will not work if you are much taller than about 5' 10". The maximum seat height does not allow for legs to extend properly. It is shocking that the product specs do not make this clear.Amazon wanted me to return this after I had assembled it. And packaging was damaged in removing parts. So I did a modification shown in picture. You need a good shop to do this because it involves cutting wood, drilling through metal, and having very long / strong screws. In my opinion, it is virtually a deceptive practice that the product specs fail to mention that this bike is not suitable for someone in the normal range of tall.Photos show the mod I had to make. Not a bad bike but they need to be more forthcoming with ... October 16, 2015 Bike Seat adjustment is just to short. I am 5'11" with a 29" inseam and I can't even come close to getting my legs extended intoa normal ride position. You need to sell a longer seat adjuster. I cut the seat tube and had a 6" tube extension welded on to the seat mount. Another problem I had was with handlebar adjustment, there is none. I took the handle bars and cut the welds with a cutoff wheel so the bars can now rotate and be locked into position when tighten down the 4 bolts. Not a bad bike but they need to be more forthcoming with size and adjustment limitations. Poor Quality Control December 16, 2014 This fitness bike seemed like a good deal from all the people giving it 4 and 5 stars, and I think it would be a good bike if not for the poor quality control/factory assembly. While this bike does require some pretty simple assembly, the meat and potatoes of the bike (the crank, chain and flywheel) come pre-assembled from the factory. I've only owned this bike 4 days, and I've already found 2 significant problems from the factory assembly. The first problem was a obnoxiously loud clicking noise coming from around the flywheel as I pedaled. I traced this to the small plastic sensor attached to the flywheel that connects to the computer. The plastic was slightly deformed/broken causing it to catch every revolution and make a clicking sound. I simply disconnected the small metal piece (just one screw holding it) that connects to the flywheel and interfaces with the plastic sensor. This renders the computer useless, but I don't need it anyway. All it's good for is keeping time, and I wear a watch for that. Problem solved, no more clicking. The second problem was when I noticed a ball bearing on the floor, and an increasingly loud grinding sound when I pedaled. This time the sound was coming from the crank. Upon inspection I noticed significant play in the crank, so I disassembled it. The nuts were overtightened, causing the ball bearing assembly to become bent and disfigured, allowing the ball bearings to fall out of place. So how did a ball bearing end up on my floor before I ever took the crank apart? Well, inside, where the crank passes through the frame, there is a small hole that leads down the rear leg of the bike. On the bottom of that leg is another hole, and a bearing fits right through it. A bearing came loose because of the disfigured bearing assembly, and fell down the hole. It must have been damaged before I ever rode it, as the bearing could have only escaped before I put the rear stabilizing arm on.So now I need to go to a bike shop and get a new ball bearing set-up. I could contact Sunny, and see if they could send me one, but honestly I've had enough headache with this thing, and I don't feel like waiting for them to send me a part. This hassle could be completely avoided if the people at the Sunny factory took the time to realize that you can't just crank down as hard as you want on crank bearings. They aren't meant to take that kind of force. For anyone else with similar noises, I encourage you to inspect your bikes. I have a feeling this happens pretty often. Once I get this fixed, I think the bike will perform decently enough. But for anyone who doesn't have the tools or patience to fix things that shouldn't arrive broken, I'd think twice before making this purchase. | 10% resistance knob never worked quite right. It was always ... January 16, 2017 resistance knob never worked quite right. It was always overly noisy. After just a few months the threads are stripped on it. How many pennies could they have saved cheaping out on the quality and grade of a threaded rod? something that is a few dollars when made to proper grade and tolerance. The bike is awesome! However it arrived as damaged August 31, 2016 The bike is awesome! However it arrived as damaged! The damage requires hammering the back foot of the main body that got curled inside due to the bad treatment of UPS! Would be a great bike if everything worked and wasn't damaged during shipping. February 8, 2016 Shipping was quick but the bike came with a big scratch on the frame. If you are buying online, don't expect the bike to be anywhere near perfect condition. Some of the parts were also broken in the box when I received them. The wheels makes a very high pitched sound when the resistance is high enough. You'll need to go buy some silicone lubricant to get that fixed. I chose this bike over some of the other stationary bikes with better reviews because it had the display that would tell you your time, distance, calories, RPM. The monitor and sensor on my bike only worked for my first two rides. Now every time I use it, the sensor works for 10-13 minutes before it stops and shuts off. Too much troubleshooting March 13, 2015 The bike was easy to put together and light enough to take upstairs which were the best things about it. Since I got it I have called support twice. The first time the monitor did not work because the sensor was not positioned properly and they guided me through the fix. The second time was because it started making a humming noise only at certain resistance. They told me to spray silicone on it which helped temporarily but it came back even worse a couple of days later. I am going to call again but if I could go back I would get a different machine Nice ride.......but be prepared to replace the resistance knob q 6 months January 7, 2015 Arrived sooner than expected which was nice. Minor damage to the box=scratches on bike but ok. Easy to put together. Gives you a good workout. Only thing needed is to have a ledge/holder to hold music devices.UPDATE 13 mos later: I use the bike Avg 2 hrs a week. I adjust the resistance knob for a better workout as most would do, I AM ON MY 3rd RESISTANCE KNOB! the screw strips then freezes up. You can then no longer adjust it! They are quick to send you a new one but you can't ride for maybe 10days. After a year they will charge you for the knob. The company makes it sound like I ride it incorrectly by adjusting the knob. Weird. Good equipment......except for that. |
One Star Reviews: | 5% it has no depression for the male genital but is comfortable for your butt April 24, 2017 OK I'm updating my inital impressions after using this bike for a few months. If you're 5ft 8In forget this bike. Both bikes I purchased made terrible crackling noises as if the chain was hooking on the metal chain guard . The noises have never gone away. Both screens ( speedometers) failed. The Company only replaced one. The second one they say was out of the warranty period. These bike are really really crappy. I had to resurrect my old spin bike that I use for the past 7 years and its still going strong. Please look for another Brand. My son has one of these Sunny Health Bikes but a more expensive model and the brakes bind when set to no tension. Just don't waste your money on this Brand Waste of money, low quality and broken in two months September 16, 2016 For all of you who read reviews before purchasing anything like I do, don't believe all of the positive reviews. This bike is a complete waste of money. I thought this would be a good bike for a good price, but the right pedal is already broken and is not repairable. I've only had the bike for about two months and now it is merely a large piece of unusable metal taking up space in my home. "You get what you pay for" is exactly what happened to me. Don't make the same mistake I did. Sunny Health and Fitness makes poor products and should be avoided. Very unsafe product. While using the bike during a ... June 3, 2016 Very unsafe product. While using the bike during a spin video one of pedals broke off. After dealing with the company all they would do is send another of the same. This bike has issues as others have said. Cheap says it all!! February 15, 2016 I have owned the Sunny Health and Fitness Pro bike, Gold's Gym exercise bike and now this one. I guess I shouldn't complain, it was only slightly over a 100, but it really isn't even worth that. I wish I had that 100 back to put into another Pro. My Pro broke on me and I was so disappointed. I really loved it. It was sturdy, supported me well, and adjusted tall enough for my 6'2'' stature. The con of the Pro is if the foot pedal gets loose it will strip and become useless if you don't catch it and tighten it. But back to this bike Cons: No side wheel brakes (brakes down from the top) (looks like it will snap with consistent pressure and longer workouts) Seat is too wide Not as sturdy Seat doesn't go up tall enough for a taller person (fine for 5'7" on highest setting) Wheel is not heavy enough. Transporting wheels are too small to make very effective. Pro: Easy to assemble (Instructions are very clear and well written) I like the distance and time feature. I am unsure of customer service. I have wanted to try and replace my Pro bike and so far, it has not been easy to unassemble and I can't find anywhere on the website that talks about being able to order spare parts. I thoroughly regret spending $150 on this bike. October 10, 2015 I bought this bike around three months ago so I could be active while enjoying my fandoms. Unfortunately, due to an injury, I wasn't able to test it out until past the return date. To start off, one of the brackets to screw the bike into the base was bent so far it couldn't be screwed in at all. I was able to make due by setting the screw in the hole and it held it in place alright. Now that I've tried the bike though, I thoroughly regret spending $150 on it. The chain immediately came out of place, so I had to open the thing up and fix it. Afterwards, it kept making this terrible noise, so I had to open it again, although I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I managed to get it running a bit only to realize the calorie counter was grossly inaccurate (I've spent quite a bit of time on the bikes at the free gym my last job offered, and I know how quickly I burn calories and this bike counted calories entirely too fast). Either way, I thought that even if I couldn't count them properly, exercise is still exercise. So I shifted position and the chain popped right back out of place, even though I made sure it was secure and there is nothing for it to catch on that I can see. For the record, I'm 135lbs, so we can't say I broke it with my weight. The bottom line is that this bike is worthless. I couldn't get two minutes into a session without the machine jacking itself up three times (let alone that it's incapable of counting calories properly). This isn't meant for exercise; it's meant for someone who likes fixing things. This bike has some great reviews so I'm willing to guess I just got a defective one, but even if I could exchange it at this point, I'm not even willing to try the same one again. I'd just want my money back so I can buy a gym membership and just bring my fandom with me. | 13% Do not purchase. April 17, 2016 I bought this bike in January 2015 and after a little over a year it broke. The threading on the resistance rod wore off and the replacement part is on back order for months. I would not recommend purchasing this bike. We bought 6 of them and the resistance on all ... February 22, 2016 We bought 6 of them and the resistance on all of them broke within the month. We had to return them all Don't waste your money! February 20, 2016 Worst bike ever and now I can't return it!!! This sucks. It squeaks and is not a smooth ride! I had it 3 months! Gym quality December 9, 2015 It broke after 6 weeks of use. I called the company directly and they did not help me. this was 350.00 dollars down the drain Bad buy! July 6, 2015 Flywheel isn't heavy enough for a 150 person. I own a group fitness gym and thought we would try these since they are name brand. Bad idea! They stink! I'm returning it asap and sticking to the Sunny brand. |
