Okay
Truly super, not just in name!
July 6, 2016
This rug grip is truly "super," as the name states. I used it between an all-cotton throw rug and the hard wood floor. The rug is firmly staying in place, as if it had its own rubber backing.
great quality anti slips

use these on every rug in the house!
Good product

Works perfectly. Hold a throw rug in place that could otherwise be dangerous.
They work!

These rug pads hold our small rugs in place on our hardwood floors. Enough said.
A household essential that's surprisingly hard to get right
March 27, 2016
This pad is thin, stays put, doesn't fold/wrinkle on itself, and is easy to trim to the exact size you need. Doesn't leave behind an odd residue on hardwood floors (or at least hasn't yet). It may seem odd to get so excited about a rug pad - but I've gone through several crappy ones before finding this.

Sturdy A+
November 18, 2016
I saw a DIY that required this non-slip rug pad and I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. Even though I'm a huge online shopper, I know that there is still some risk when buying online: does it look like it does in the picture? it is made of the same material I have in mind? will it work properly? is it high quality? These are the questions that bombard my mind when I'm trying to find something to buy online instead of purchasing in store.

I've seen some of these things in craft stores, but definitely not of the same quality. First of all, they're more expensive in store. Second of all, there's a great selection of sizes on Amazon. I was simply going to cut my pad into whatever size I needed, but lo and behold, I found the perfect length and width and purchased it for $12.99-- that's a great deal.

When it arrived, I could immediately see the difference in quality from the ones I had previously seen in stores. This stuff is definitely not going to slip on your tile or laminate floors. My original DIY project was going to be a yarn pom pom one, but I became inspired and realized I could get faux fur and make a faux fur rug.

While I haven't actually laid it on the floor yet, and have hardly taken it out of its very nice packaging, I can still feel that this stuff is going anywhere once on the floor. Very thick, rubber, and high quality.

If you had any doubts about this product, I say just go for it. It's a great price for something so large (mine was 5x8) and you really can't beat the price for something of this quality.
Works great for DIY
June 28, 2015
I bought this for a DIY shag rug, so my use for it isn't necessarily what was intended but it's working out great. I actually had to cut it down smaller and the other piece I'm going to use under the baby changing mat to avoid sliding.
Slip and Slide no more my cats
March 15, 2014
I recently purchased this pad after reading the reviews. I love it. It was larger than needed but very easy to cut to the size needed. I have hardwood floors and other inexpensive pads bunched up when my cats slid into them. This pad is true to its name non-slip. I used the cut off part under a runner that the cats were always bunching up. It now stays in place, and both rugs now feel padded. I am seventy years old and have a falling problem. Before adding this pad, I almost tripped several times on these two rugs. I am going to purchase more for the throw rugs that have lost part of their backing. This is a terrific product and very reasonably priced.
Holds the rug very well
January 8, 2013
I used this for a few months and the rug stays nicely in place. I never think twice about it and that's about as perfect a recommendation as I can imagine for a product like this. I had trouble getting it exactly under the rug until I figured out the trick:

1. Turn the rug upside down on the floor
2. Place the pad on top of the rug
3. Tape each corner of the pad to the back of the carpet.

Once you do this, you can pick up and move the rug as much as you want without ever having to line up the pad underneath again! It's really easy.
Best bang for the buck!

In my 4 story home, there are so many oriental rugs and stair runners, I think I can never get enough, because they look so elegant on my hardwood floors. All of these rugs need a good gripping padding underneath, if one does not want to have a slipping accident when stepping onto them. The best solution, and for the best price, is this non-slip padding. Even a small bridge type rug, of 2x3 feet, will stay put no matter what: whether I walk across it in a hurry, or whether the doggies storm over it playfully. It cuts to the proper size really easily, with just a pair of scissors. You can follow the grid pattern and get nice right angle cuts. I usually lay the pad over the rug to be fitted, and cut the proper size, minus approximately 2 or 3 inches, so that it won't stick out from underneath.
The interesting thing to consider is to make a list of all rugs one wants to cover, and then order the best size product, since the options range from 2x4 all the way to 12x15 or around there. I made a little table of the sizes offered, and calculated the per ft2 price. Just a little help for any of you to figure out what the best decision is.

These rug pads were a little large for the rugs I got from Crate & Barrel, but I just cut them down to a little bit of a smaller size and they worked great. I liked the neutral color so it doesn't show up as much on most floors.
No more surfing across the bathroom floor
November 26, 2015
I bought a rug for one of our bathrooms that I'm guessing wasn't made for a bathroom. We have all gone surfing across the tile floor on it. I got this mat and it works great. It's not so grippy that it's a pain to move around or match the rug to it, but it does the job - no more sliding!I gave it a 4 star rating because I think the price was a bit more than it was worth.

Reasonably effective, but it'd work better if it were slightly thicker
January 10, 2017
This helps protect the hardwood floor under our runner carpet, and it keeps the runner from sliding around a LOT, but it's a little bit too thin to do the latter job fully. The runner carpet regularly slides around a little bit, not enough to be remotely hazardous, but enough that once a week or so, I need to re-adjust the carpet because this rug pad is showing along the edges. Since our carpet is in a hallway with a doorway to one side, traffic on the carpet isn't in all directions equally, so there's a net force that causes it to push a little bit in one direction.

It seems to be so thin that it grips the smooth floor well, but doesn't provide enough friction against the backing of the carpet. A thicker version of this would almost certainly hold the carpet in place better.
Very Sturdy , grippy Rug Pad
December 5, 2016
Very nice cushy carpet pads that work well and low price . The Size is good for living room rug pads . My pets play a lot on rug but it stays on the place. It didn't feel like a rug placed on top of a padding--it just felt like a slightly more high-end rug.
A must to keep rugs from sliding around on our wood floor. I was so impressed with this rug pad. I've been buying rug pads from ikea and walmart in the past and they seem to lose their stickiness after a while, but this rug pad is thick,
Compared to my previous rug pad, this one is fantastic. It is strong, thick and easy to work with. It's Fantastic!!
Does the trick!

I purchased an area rug off of Amazon that was sliding around too much. I purchased this and have been very happy with it. It was a little bigger than the rug I had so I cut it down to size. You're rug will not slide around with this product. I like to workout at home, and I roll up the rug and pad together. My only concern is that the pad has started losing little pieces here and there every time I roll it up. It is a great price for an effective product, but be advised you will be doing some extra sweeping if you move it around a lot.
A little peace of mind for your parlor.
March 4, 2015
We have an area rug on a wood floor that bunches up constantly. My wife tried several 'quick' fix-its. All have failed. So, I did what I often do - go to Amazon.

The mat was a little on the large size - which is good. I would rather be able to trim excess material than to try to figure out how to stretch the material to make it all work. Make sure you vacuum the floor very well AND the bottom of the rug. I didn't do a great job on the bottom of the rug and there was a little stuff on the rug and there was a little slippage. I DID apply some double sided tape to the rug - this helped keep it flatter when it tends to ripple. I did NOT apply tape between the pad and the floor, though.

It's thin enough to not be noticeable - this is a good thing.

Why not a 'perfect score'? I almost took a pass on this - $17.00 bucks is a steep price to pay. It does work quite well and makes my bride happy, so there you go. If they threw in a roll of double sided tape and packaged it as a kit, I would have given the extra star.
Better, but not best.
January 5, 2015
I have dogs and a cat and they like to run around the hallways. I had a different pad under my runners, but the dog peed on the carpet and I decided to replace them after washing the carpet and floor. These pads are not 'ultra non-slip' by any means. They do a far better job than the runners on their own, but I still come home to find the rugs out of place, and also offset from the pad. So the pad doesn't do a great job of sticking to the floor, or sticking to the carpet. I am going to have to put carpet tape between the rug and the pad to keep them together.

Maybe on a much larger rug, like a full 4' x 6', this would work due to the extra weight. I cut it into strips to fit my 2' x 5' runners and while a vast improvement over what I had without the pad, these still aren't the perfect solution.

A disappointment!
September 1, 2016
After reading all the glowing reviews, I was disappointed. It works better than the non-sliding grip I was using, but the rug still slides around (it's inside our back door on the carpet), both on the carpet, and a bit away from the rug pad. I have to straighten it out every day or so. Perhaps it's works better on a wood or laminate floor.

March 6, 2017
These pads only partially get the job done. If very little foot traffic is on the rug, it keeps it in place but we have a big dog and anytime she carries any momentum to the rug, it slides every time. So yeah, we are always needing to adjust the rug.

This is a great product at a great price
August 16, 2016
This is a great product at a great price. Eventhough I have been using this rug pad for a month and a half, I am still waiting to see how well it performs. I have it under my kitchen table on a hardwood floor. The rug pad performs great as advertised: keeps the rug firmly in place. I was skeptical because of reviews that claimed it will stick to hardwood floors. So far, this has not happened as I pull it up from time to time to check, especially where there is heavier, more steady weight on the rug. I am seeing a pattern leftover from the pad, but I also have a high gloss finish on my floor. I know two other people that have used this pad and they have more natural, satin finishes on their floors. I will continue to monitor, but so far, so good. This is a great value for this product.

Super Grip Pad - use for light weight rugs only

This product would work fine for light weight rugs. I have two accent rugs which are acrylic/hand hooked rugs. Due to weight of rug they continue to move with this pad on my hardwood kitchen floor.

August 10, 2017
Does not work at ALL as described. We've got three dogs, and they love to run and romp around the house. I got tired of moving the rug back every hour, so I decided to get this pad to try and keep it in place. It may as well not even be there. Using one foot on the corner of the rug, I can shift the entire thing around, with the pad underneath. I cleaned thoroughly before placement too, so I know it's not dust causing the problem. I'm not sure if they changed something following complaints of it sticking to floors, but it just doesn't work at all.

At the very least, I still get to watch my dogs lose their footing & fall as the rug slips out from under their feet.

Would not recommend, wish I had returned it during the return window.
Do not keep the rugs in place!!
April 27, 2017
These do not serve their purpose! I thought about giving them one star, but I thought it may be partially my dogs fault that they move around. If not for dogs chasing balls and running like maniacs, they may stay put. Unfortunately, that is what happens in my house. We liked that we could cut them to fit, but I can't return them because I cut them. I need to find replacements.
Has a significant downside...
December 5, 2016
Provides good anti-slip properties to a rug, but sticks badly to wooden floors that are shiny/lacquered. Was very difficult (if not impossible) to get the residual pad off of the floors. I suspect it happened during the summer when the house was at its hottest. Because of this inconvenience when I went to move the rug and the semi-permanent damage done to my floors, I wouldn't purchase this item again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone with similar wooden floors and/or climate.

Edit/Update: I've had the same problem with less "shiny" wooden floors as well as on spanish tile. It works a LOT better than the other pads I've used (which almost don't work at all and add needless bulk to the rug, which this one doesn't) but it's just not worth having the sticky pattern/disintegrated pad left on the floor!
Not as good as we initially thought
January 29, 2016
Originally we thought this rug pad was great. It was very light compared to our old rug pad which we thought was good for ease of installation. Plus the price was pretty good. Well, we had the pad down for about 6 months now and just rolled up the rug as we're going to have our hardwood floors refinished. What we noticed was that wherever the couch feet were, the pad had disintegrated and was pasted to the floor. Not a big deal as they're going to sand them, but now we don't want to put this pad back down. I will be looking to buy another pad for after the floors are done so this doesn't happen to the newly redone floors.
Heed my advice.
July 10, 2014
This pad was initially thought to be a decent product at a good value that held in place extremely well...until approximately a week later when I realized the soft waffle texture had completely adhered to my refinished wood floor. I purchased 2 rug pads, an 8x10 Duo-Lock pad http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030A4BFW/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this 5x8 waffly piece of junk. I did not hold it to the same standards I judged the thicker, more expensive rug pad by, yet I was pleased by the way our rug stayed in place with this pad. However, I now think it is in part because the rug pad has a death-grip on my poor floor and the rug is just a pretty mask for its carnage. For this reason, I cannot recommend this product. Spring for the better pad & be happy you don't have perma-PVC waffle foam bits on your own floor.

Seriously awful - NOT recommended
September 5, 2016
Absolutely a terrible product - owned several non-slip pads before and this is the worst quality. The rug moves MORE with this product than before. The pad stretches in all directions, is poorly made and should be pulled OFF of Amazon. I would like to be able to return this, but I'm beyond the 30 day period. Such a shame and waste of time and money.
Not recommended for small rugs
August 25, 2016
After having this pad down a period of time I am not impressed. Have 2 german shepherds and they still move the 5x7 rug as if there was little under it. Believe the reason is attributed to the design of the pad. It s not a tight weave pattern.
Disappointing waste of my time and money
March 13, 2016
I don' know if these are better suited for heavier/ bigger rugs but they do not work well on any of my rugs. I have three 8 foot runners. Two in the kitchen and one in the laundry room. The rugs are constantly moving around still. Same problem on all three of my 2x3 (approx) entry rugs. And I Was going to say the only one they work on is my 12ft entry hall runner. But looking at it right now the rug is off the pad and slanted.

Mind you I don't have a heavy traffic home either. Its just my husband and I with a 6 month old (3/13/16). I did a lot of research and spent a lot of time trimming these to fit each runner/rug and am very disappointed that they do not work well.

I will take and add photos - to update.
Didn't hold a runner rug down at all.
December 5, 2015
Didn't hold an 8 x 3 runner rug in place. With just slight foot pressure, the rug moved around on a laminate floor, on both ends!
Won't buy this brand again.
Yuk! Didn't work well at all.
UPDATE: This was worthless! I put some under a doormat onto carpet, and it doesn't stay in place at all. I tried 3 different types of door entry mats, and not one stayed in place.
It is actually dangerous, if you think you have good grip, and you find out it may be even MORE slippery than before!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!
Not cool.
November 29, 2014
Bought this to put under a 5x7 area rug in my tiled basement office. Received it 3 days ago, set it down and put the rug over it. Have been walking on the rug for a couple days, just rolled the rug and pad back and this pad has adhered itself to the tile floor. When I am able to peel it away it leaves small bits of it's foam stuck to the tile. Not cool.
