These rug pads are great! The fabric has larger spaces in the mesh ...
May 26, 2016
I waited a little too long to clean a couple of large vintage Kilims in my LR and DR and, as I was rolling them to take to the cleaner, I felt that the rug pads below them were just done. I cannot remember where I purchased them from - likely just convenience and not looking for quality. I purchased new Eco Hold pads from Amazon in the meantime. I chose this brand because of the reviews, the price, and the ethic of the company. These rug pads are great! The fabric has larger spaces in the mesh that will be more permeable to a vacuum and which will promote longevity because dirt particles can be removed from both the rug and the pad. Density is also better than other pads. I have a silly greyhound who "skips" when he is happy or excited and these pads are great in helping the rugs stick to the floor when he is doing his thing.
Nice, thick pad
February 9, 2016
Much better quality than pads I've purchased previously. The pad works great on my kitchen tile floor--it really sticks and has a nice feel and texture. However, it doesn't help much with a rug that bunches up on the carpet in the living room. It is meant for use on hard surfaces, so that's not the manufacturer's fault; I just wanted to point it out in case anyone else was thinking of buying it for this purpose. Also, I am sensitive to smells and did not notice any odor whatsoever with this product.
Great deal, great non-slip pads!
September 26, 2014
Truly the best carpet pads I ever used! We got the 5x8 and 2x8 for 2 rugs used to protect our bamboo wood floors. Very easy to unfold, cut and position on the rugs. The runner stays put in our busy entry way and on the larger rug, it provides a thin but strong support for the rug, allowing an office chair to move freely on it- no carpet movement at all!.I did not notice a smell as others reported, except right out of the package. It resolved instantly. I also like the fact the rug can be re-positioned without having to totally re-align the rug on the pad. I would order these again for my other area rugs!
As expected
May 19, 2014
I ordered this one because a lot of reviewers mentioned that it didn't have the chemical odor that a lot of rug pads can have. I was worried when I opened it, because it smelled horrid. The odor was gone almost immediately upon removing from package and laying out, though, so I'm happy to reaffirm that this really is a low-odor rug pad. Don't let the initial blast scare you away - it's gone in seconds. One this I wish, and this isn't specific to this brand, is that these would be 1-2 inches smaller than the rugs they're supposed to go under. I always end up trimming them, so I don't have to be super precise about placing the rug - even when I get super neurotic about it, there's rug pad bits showing here and there.
Enjoying our new rug more since I purchased this pad!
November 20, 2013
It does exactly what it is suppose to do, our rug is now softer to walk on and stays exactly where I placed it. Very happy with this purchase! We have it under a 5x8 rug on lament flooring. I did have to trim it to size which was quite easy to do, would rather it be to large then to small. One review that I read before I purchased complained about how expensive the larger pads were and I wanted to recommend that anyone who needs one of the larger pads purchase two smaller pads instead and just trim them to fit, you could run a piece of clear packing tape in the middle of the two separate pieces if you felt you needed too, but it shouldn't move once you place it on the floor under your rug anyway. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Thanks for a great product!
Great job for a 65 lbs Dog
September 9, 2013
We have vinyl plank flooring with a wood looking finish. It's very hard and somewhat slick and my wife wanted to get a 5x7 rug for the living room. She got a pretty thin and cheap rug from Target which would slide around like crazy when our 65 pound lab would get excited for breakfast, dinner or any other time she wanted to play. Bought this and have been very pleased with it. It has next to no odor, keeps the rug in place not only when our dog gets excited for breakfast but she can also now play tug of war with us again. I would definitely recommend this model over the thinner ones for the added padding. Wife can now lay on the rug with a little more comfort and our Neato robotic vacuum still goes over it daily with no problems. Will buy more as needed.

CAN'T PULL THIS RUG OUT FROM UNDER ANYONE ANYMORE
October 23, 2017
We bought a rug online that we really liked but when it showed up, it was thinner than we expected and didn't really have a solid backing on it. We were trying to figure out how to return it when I bought this rug pad. This pad saved our rug's life. We put it down and it was a magically transformation. Our rug doesn't bunch. It doesn't slide. It's softer to walk on. It totally turned it around. This thing is great. It's worth the money. If you need a rug pad. I'd buy this one.

September 12, 2017
This was the perfect rug pad for our 9' x 12' west elm rug. It noticeably adds extra cushion beneath the rug and helps keep it from bunching up and moving around. Even though our rug is a very large size, without extra rubber grip, it would still bunch up because we have hardwood floors. After putting this under our rug, we have had no issues with the rug slipping or bunching up in certain places.
I Love these Rug Pads!!
July 28, 2017
I purchased 2 of the Mohawk Home Dual Surface Rug Pad, 3'x5', Multi...pads to go under the 3'x5' throw rugs that are on the sides of my bed. There was very little trimming that had to be done as they measured out so well. Also it is nice to step out of bed to the soft cushioned floor instead of the cold wooden one. I wish I could purchase this somewhere local, but unfortunately no one carries it.
High Quality & Does The Job
June 13, 2017
This rug pad is holding my 3 ft x 13 ft runner in place very securely. In addition to keeping the rug in place, It feels just right underneath -- making the rug feel plush, but not so thick that you feel like you have to step up onto the rug. It was also easy enough to cut thru the padding with a large scissor (as I had to trim the full width by 6 inches). While I can't speak to its durability, I'm very pleased so far.

May 19, 2017
Holy cow, this thing is awesome. Much heavier and more durable than I was expecting. Makes my rug feel so plush and comfortable against my hardwood floors - better than brand new carpet! The rubberized bottom is amazing, and completely prevents the rug from sliding on top of it. We ran cords between the rug and this mat, and you can hardly feel them. Great price compared to home improvement store equivalents, with high quality and quick arrival.
So comfortable!
October 16, 2016
High quality rug pad for large area rugs. This rug pad is made from synthetic materials (e.g. polyester) and is quite plush feeling underfoot. I was looking for a rug pad that didn't have any non-slip grip to it because in the past I have had rug pads that either melted to hard surfaces underneath or degraded into powder after years of use. Seriously, if you have hardwood, tile, or laminate floors, DO NOT purchase those cheaper, polyurethane foam carpet pads that all of the carpet stores and hardware stores carry. They will RUIN your hard floors. If you can, spend the extra money to get a carpet pad that is made without a non-slip grip. If you are placing the rug and pad under furniture, this is especially important. The furniture will keep the rug from moving, no need for the extra grip. Overall, I recommend this product (or any other felt-pad only carpet pads) for area rugs in your home that are sitting on hard floors.

While it does keep our rug in place, it can still sometime slip. Not a big slip, but enough to cause me to sigh, and have to craw on mu hands and knees to straighten it all back out again, because of how that place i!
Good rug pad
October 2, 2015
Good rug pad, easy to cut to make it the perfect size. It still had some of that gross offgassing smell that most rugs do (I was hoping to avoid that with the whole "eco" thing, but it's always a risk), but after airing it out a little it was fine.
Does its job well
June 16, 2014
This kepps the rug in place very well. Sadly - it lost a lot of it's 'fluff' after several weeks or use, but still feels better underfoot than just the rug itself (I trimmed this a bit and the remnant under half of a runner). Frankly - glad I bought it on Amazon than from the retailer where it was marked up about twice the price - especially since it seems so similar to the product carried by the box store.
Nice stick and no hardwood residue left over
June 2, 2014
Nice stick to quilted rug and no noticeable material residue left over on my hardwood. Only negative is the quilted rug lifts off of Eco Hold Rug Pad when I vacuum over it. But I think the trade off is worth it since the Eco Hold Rug Pad doesn't glue itself to my nice hardwood finish. Walking over the quilted rug this Eco Hold Rug Pad offers nice cushion feeling to your feet. I’m overall very impressed by the design team effort in creating such practical and capable product.
Great rug pad! No slipping and no odor.
May 12, 2013
Overall, this rug pad is great- very cushy, works great under the rugs to avoid skidding, and has no detectable odor. I am giving it 4 stars because one small area of the pad had a 2" hole in it- I'm sure it's just a defect, and for our use it didn't matter, but if someone needed very consistent coverage or had planned on having it exposed rather than covered, it might have made a difference.
Very nice product!
April 4, 2013
The rug pad is just as advertised. It is "cushiony" and provides a nice underlayment for my carpet. I needed to trim it a little and that was very easy to do, with scissors. The price was very pleasing; remarkably affordable. I wish the product description would have said exactly what the pad is made of; I never did figure that out. I like the pad, and would order another one if I needed one.

Anchoring the edges with furniture only made it worse. This pad does not completely stop the movement ...
October 31, 2017
Works well for Rug on top of CarpetThis pad has 2 surfaces for different usage configurations. For my application, the coarse side holds the rug in place on top of a low medium pile carpet. The rug is in a busy walkway/play area and had plagued me with its bunching and moving using a different type of non-slip pad. Anchoring the edges with furniture only made it worse. This pad does not completely stop the movement but it is markedly better.Note: this pad arrives folded. It will take a few days for the fold marks to flatten out and your area rug to lie flat.
Does the job, plush but is a bit oversized.
March 28, 2017
This rug pad arrived on time and fit the area rug but it was a little big. I had to trim it down and in some places you can still see the rug pad I had to go back and trim it back a couple of times. Other than though the rug pad works nicely and it does provide more comfort. It does make it more plush that if I didn't have one. Also, the rug has not moved or does not move. My rug was a 6x9.
Good Quality
March 24, 2017
Comfortable, non-slip under a Safiveh shag rug. Easy to cut to size. Make sure to cut a bit smaller than the rug, so that you don't raise up the corners and trip on them!
Quality rug pad
March 15, 2017
Pad's only flaw was that two edges were not "square", i.e., not parallel to the other edges. Thus, mark pad carefully prior to trimming to fit rug. Otherwise high quality and an excellent value.
Good pad and grip for area rugs
January 11, 2017
Ours shipped quickly and was easy to unpack. It was folded, not roller, which caused some crease bumps that went away with the weight of a large rug (8x10). It measured a couple inches shy of 8 feet, and an inch wider than 10, but that's close enough for our use. It grips the hardwood well even with kids sliding into the edges. The pad thickness is just enough to provide a noticeable cushion, but not so much that it makes it awkward to step on the perimeter where the pad, rug, and floor meet. Don't expect the same padding comfort as a 6 or 8 lb carpet pad, that's not what it is meant to be.
Thick but...
December 21, 2016
Seems like a great pad but it's a little larger than a 5x8 which is kind of a pain because I ordered a 5x8 rug & it shows around 2 edges. I know I can cut it but it's very thick so practically impossible to do with scissors. Will probably have to use a razor blade but I don't want to damage our wood floor beneath so now I have to find a space to lay out the pad where I can cut through without damaging what's underneath or find a large piece of cardboard to put underneath and will only be able to cut small sections at a time.

Needs to be cut straight. Not five inches difference from one end across to the opposite side!
February 1, 2017
Seems to be pretty heavy duty, but not cut at all straight! Less than one inch on one end and following the row all the way across ends up to be five or more inches off. Kind of frustrating to be such a waste. Trying to think to some way to fix it so it straight but not wasting a lot to do so.

December 15, 2014
It's a thinner than my last rug pad. And my rugs are constantly slipping just enough so that the rug pad it always showing on the edges and have to be re-positioned. These were cheaper than the others I looked at, and now I know why.
For the price it's good
February 11, 2014
At first it does provide a nice cushion underneath the rug...but after walking on it for several months it's starting to flatten out. The rug does stay in place though, which is primarily why we purchased it. It's good for the money, but if you want the extra cushion spend more money for another.
Non-skid, but not as padded as expected
January 2, 2014
I was looking for a nice padding under my 5'X8' area rug. This is SUPER non-skid, I will attest to that, but it's only a few cm thick. A little disappointed in my lack of extra rug padding, bug overall it's ok.

My three area rugs still slides on top of this rug pad. :( same area rug problem with more cushion :(
January 5, 2017
This rug pad does provides a cushion and nice thickens to my area rugs, but my area rug still slides constantly on top of it, I also tried this in my carpet, and the same problem, the rug slides on top of the rug pad or the carpet, and the same in the tile floor, the problems is not as bad as before I put this rug pad on all three of my rugs, but the problem continues. One thing that was nice, is that you can cut it to the size you want, but for me the main problem continues, the area rugs slides on top of this rug pad, sad face, :(

I purposely chose this dual surface pad with a rubbery side for being able to dance on my rug over hardwood floor. The rubbery side hardly moves, but my rug shifts position at the end of the dance (about an inch after one hour). The slight movement does not bother me. In fact, I am happy that the rug pad does what is expected by holding my rug in place. The only downside is that the rug pad leaves something powdery on the surface of my hardwood floor such that the floor becomes very slippery. I am afraid to continue leaving the rubbery rug pad on my hardwood floor. Now, I am using the rug pad with the rubbery side facing my rug, and moving to a wall-to-wall carpeted room for my dancing routine.
Thick, soft.....and a little too big
September 20, 2016
I ordered this pad as I bought a new rug for the tile floor. The kids love to play on the new rug and so I wanted to minimize any injuries.Came rolled tight and wrapped in plastic. Pretty standard for shipping this type of item.Once unpacked and unrolled, I laid it out on the floor. I rolled the rug over it and the pad was at least a foot larger in width. So I marked the pad, took the rug off, and cut it where it needed to be as to the size I ordered. Put the rug back on and was in business. The pad is realistically better for on carpet, or on top of a no skid protector. Straight on the tile filler and it will slip around. Other than that, it provides ample pad as so my kids do not bonk their head on a hard surface!Pros:SoftCons:Comes too bigDoes not have a no slip side
Well made, fits perfectly under 8x10 rug without cutting, but not very soft
August 18, 2016
Honestly, I am so confused by so many of the reviews on here. Based on all the reviews I read, my take away was that when I received this Mohawk rug pad, it would most likely be two things: 1) sized wrong and most likely have to be cut to size 2) make my area rug extremely padded and comfy. After receiving and using this product, both descriptions couldn't be more off for my example. Regarding the first issue, I didn't have that problem at all, the pad came folded in a large box, but was perfectly square and fit near identically to my 8x10 carpet. It was just a little shorter (maybe half an inch) on all sides, making it fit perfectly underneath and going the entire length of the rug without being seen along the edges. No one would know it is there. Absolutely no cutting was necessary. HOWEVER, the more important second issue and why I spent the extra money on this instead of the thinner foam pads I usually get was because of the claimed added comfort that this would give my area rug. I am by no means a novice to rugs, as we have hardwood and several rugs around our house, mostly 8x10 and 5x7, ranging from expensive all wool to shag and low pile rugs. This pad provided a "little" bit of extra comfort, but not much, and certainly not twice the price level of comfort. I sincerely doubt anyone would confuse this rug as being much more expensive as others have stated. The problem is that the pad is a very solid and rough compressed felt. I almost feel that it is wrong to call it padding, because that would insinuate that it is soft and has give, like a pillow or something else. This is not squishy felt you find in a craft store, but a thick almost denim like material. The bottom has a rubber grip to prevent it from sliding and to also not scratch up the floors. Construction is solid, but it is NOT soft, or as others have said: plush, heavenly, luxurious, etc. I honestly don't know what they are talking about, whether they have an older version that is softer, or if it is all just relative and we have a difference in opinion, but I can't see how anyone would use those adjectives with this pad. My thinking was that this would be similar to carpet padding underneath wall to wall carpet that truly ads comfort, albeit much thinner. Not so, this is nothing like the carpet padding material that they put underneath wall-to-wall carpeting. Some have claimed that this material falls apart, again, something I would expect on a true felt type material, but I couldn't imagine this falling apart under normal wear and use. You could easily drag furniture around on top of it without it ripping.I would say this ads a true 1/4" height to the carpet, but is hardly noticeable, and feels maybe 25% softer (if I'm being generous). It looks to be durable, I enjoy the no slip padding underneath, and was pleased that it was 100% perfectly sized and perfectly square. However, it wasn't very soft and only added minor comfort. For the price, it was okay, but not great. I deducted two stars solely because of the lack of perceived comfort. I understand that added comfort is a relative description, so others may obviously disagree. My wife and I both, however, came to the same conclusion. This product is being used on a 8x10 medium pile shag area rug. I have not tried this on our thick pile wool rug since the pile is so thick, I doubt you would feel this at all underneath (plus, that rug doesn't really need added plush). I will update this review if the pad scratches up the floor, moves around, or degrades over time. I am also holding out very slim hope that maybe it "puffs up" over time and becomes a little softer, but I sincerely doubt that will happen.
not very soft, but non-slip is good
April 20, 2016
I was expecting this thing to be softer than it actually was. I got this for my rug so I can sit on my knees or just normally on the rug comfortably. I'm not so sure I can do that, even with this rug pad. Also, I purchased mine from Premier Rug Pads, LLC instead of Amazon since it was cheaper. However, the pad was cut 1 inch shorter than the stated length (5 feet, 11 inches instead of 6 feet). One side is rubber (non-slip), and another side has a coated synthetic fiber material that is high-friction so it will stick to your rug. I put mine on hardwood floor and it does not slip at all.

April 18, 2016
I don't know, it doesn't seem hold the rug in place as tightly as I'd hoped, stays in the same place on the carpet though well enough and the padding is comfortable. I'll get some carpet tape to hold the rug in place better and at least the carpet tape won't be attached to my carpet to leave residue, just will attach it to the pad and that will probably get the results I wanted. Pad cuts easily enough as well.

Not a Pad
July 25, 2014
Padding and cushioning are not adjectives I would use for this, umm, thin layer of foam under the rug. It would probably keep a rug from sliding around, but provides no padding whatsoever. I could barely tell the difference when I put it under a towel. Definitely not worth $25 either.

January 12, 2017
I like the cushion on this pad but it came too big. It sticks out the sides of my 8 x 10 rug and looks tacky. It also a very strong scent, like a factory, and stunk up my room for months. They need to cut the pad to be just a little smaller than 8 x 10. It also isn't very symmetrical so the dimensions are off. I wanted to return it but didn't because it's so bulky and didn't want to have to deal with the hassle.

Runner and pad slips sidewards in the hallway
January 3, 2015
Bought this for a hallway runner hand-made in northern iran/iraq border area some time ago.Doorway entrance from kitchen and also from bathroom open onto this runner and pad.Rug slips gradually sidewards and I have to pull the 13 foot runner and this pad back towards the center of the hallway each week. This is irritating. Maybe it's because I have an oak floor hallway and the pad is designed for something else?My old cream colored spongy mesh pad before this purchase barely had this problem but it had that rubber stinky smell about it.I guess this pad s good if you only walk up and down a hallway but never step onto it or the runner from a side room entrance. It does offer nicer cushioning but that's negated by the side slippage of runner and of this pad.I wasn't like that first week or two I used it but now it's a common irritating issue.

DO NOT USE ON WOOD!!!
September 18, 2014
I purchased two of these rug pads based on the stellar reviews here at Amazon and after doing quite a bit of research about rug pads in general. While these are good quality pads and offered at a fair price, THEY CANNOT BE USED on wood floors. The description that they are safe for all types of floors is misleading. I have red oak hardwood floors that were totally redone two years ago. This rug pad has permanently damaged the floors in two rooms of my home, resulting in what is likely to be a very costly repair. It has left a waffle pattern over a 5x8 surface of the floor in each room. Pretty upsetting and disappointing considering the rugs themselves had little traffic and no weight (heavy furniture, etc) on them.

Doesn't hold rug from moving.
January 19, 2017
Grabs my hardwood flooring great, however, not enough stick between the pad and the rug. My rug often shifts and moves enough that the pad is showing around the edges. Does not work on carpet
September 11, 2016
I was hoping that this product would help to anchor area rugs to carpet. It simply does not; if anything, it made bunching worse. One source of frustration in ordering carpet pad via Amazon : in Q&A section there were several instances where potential buyers asked whether the product would work on carpet. Inevitably, responses ran along the lines of buyers who felt compelled to respond that they had only used it on their hardwood or laminate but it worked just fine. For Pete's sake, just don't respond if you can't answer the real question.

Disappointed in outcome
July 7, 2016
This item does not work for keeping a throw rug from shifting on carpet as stated in the description. The felt side was placed on the wall-to-wall carpet and the throw rug was laid on the rubber side of the pad as per instructions and the rug shifted when walked on.
NOT NON SLIP
December 2, 2015
This IS NOT A NON SLIP PAD. Its advertised as a "hardwood pad" which makes you think its going to help the rug slip less, however the very last sentence of the very last bullet on the description mentions briefly that it is not a non slip pad. I'm sure its a great pad, but on a hardwood floor its worthless.
