Way better quality than I thought i was going to get
January 11, 2017
Way better quality than I thought i was going to get. I originally tried to cancel because it was an impulse buy but it had already shipped. Boy am I glad it did. Great sound. (could use better cymbals though) they sound OK, but I purchased some MEINL cymbals from AMAZON as well just because. I am quite pleased with these drums at this remarkable price. ( I have played for years ) just have a limited budget now that I am old. LOL
Thanks y'all.

Amazing deal!
September 24, 2014
Amazing! been drumming for over 14 years and bought this set as a "throw away in case neighbors b*tch and complain" and i gotta say, i won't! they are very well made and the price was perfect! Neighbors love it too! just replace the heads and cymbals and you still paid less than buying a branded set.
Just what I was looking for!!
February 5, 2014
After having my eye on a different set for my daughter the sale ended the day before payday and I began shopping again. Came across this set and if was not only within' my price range but offered all the hardware to boot! Ordering so close to Christmas had the estimated shipping date as after Christmas but my daughter understood and prepared for the wait. On the 24th of December it came!! 3 days earlier than estimated and that wasn't even the icing on the cake?!

They set up in less than an hour or two with zero experience in assembling drums before. They tuned (as near as an untrained ear can tell) easily and have proven more durable and enjoyable than expected.

I'm not going to guess how well this set stands up to the higher priced drums but for my almost 13 year old daughter they are more than she'd imagined!
Excellent product and service.
December 31, 2013
I ordered this product a few days before Christmas and wasn't expecting it to be able to be under the tree but it was! The shipping service was excellent! Setting up the drum set was a little confusing but that was to be expected and it didn't take long at all. Overall, it was a great buying experience and there is not one problem with the product!
Great Drum Set with an Affordable Price !!!
December 2, 2013
I just received my Drum Set this past Friday, and I was happily surprised to see that the previous reviews on this product were spot on !!! I love this Drum Set !!! And, I can see the potential of upgrading this set for a better sound ... when I can afford it. I used to play drums back in the day, and decided it was time to brush up on my skills. But, with having a high mortgage payment and a twelve year old daughter to spoil, I thought I'd cheap it out for now and make the smart buy on this Affordable Drum Set. The drums sound great with a little bit of tweaking (tape, towels, Styrofoam), but I would have to agree with a past reviewer stating the throne is a piece of junk - it bent after about 10 minutes of sitting on it. I'm only 188 lbs, but this seems to be too much for it. Not worries though, as this can easily be replaced. Unlike others though, I did receive a glossy instruction sheet - basic instructions with very little assembly help. But, since I was familiar with drums, I didn't have too much problems putting it together. I went ahead and double-checked my work with looking up Drum Set Assembly on You Tube, though.
I would definitely recommend this this drum set to anyone looking to get back into drumming, or for anyone interested in learning how to drum. You really can't go wrong with this purchase. Do it. Do it.

Great drums came in on time
March 26, 2017
Great drums came in on time! very easy set up! Got them for my sons birthday, he loves them! A must have for any musicians house trying to teach their children!
These were a lot better quality then I had expected
March 20, 2017
These were a lot better quality then I had expected. Built heavy just light better known brands. Sound is ok we are replacing drum heads to remove some of the ring and "bong" noise pedal isn't very good but still completely functional very very easy to set up and tear down cymbals are on quality not the greatest sound but what you expect for the price. I expect these to last until the day my son out grows them he is only 2 so that will be years from now all and all I love them and so does he
Amazing drum set for the price
March 3, 2017
Amazing drum set for the price. Assembly was easy and fun to do with a 2.5 year old. Great sound and plenty of room to grow. I'd buy this again, great product!
Just what we expected!
February 6, 2014
Love the drums; exactly what we expected, actually much better quality than I expected. We bought them for our 6 year old son who plays the violin but wanted these to just play with and to have for his friends. They came as advertised, the only problem is they came with instructions for the smaller set. As I had never come close to putting a drum together it looked a bit daunting. I first got instructions on line for the larger set I had ordered and got a manual, such as it was, which I printed out. If you have never put a drum together the instructions were only so helpful so I went to Youtube and found instructions for putting a drum together and was able to get these drums together and did the same for the symbols. It all got done and my son was thrilled. If anyone is looking for a starter set, these are just great.
Great little Jr. kit
December 30, 2013
Nice little kit for the money. My 1 year old loves to play my kit while I hold him (but just way to big for him). I wanted to find something that he could play on his own. Solid kit for the money... but, a few things to know going in:1) rack toms not really adjustable2) snare stand is ok. the base is really sturdy. the problem lies with the "basket" as it is basically three arms that are held in place by a single wing nut. My son ends up spinning the snare drum around enough that the wing nut eventually comes loose and the drum/arms fall off the stand.3) Kick pedal and hi-hat stand are not going to last long4) throne is very solid (I sat on it and played for a bit)5) drums are somewhat tunable, which seemed good to be able to eventually teach how to change heads and tune if need beYou are getting what you pay for here... great little kit for the price for him bang on.

Great full-size beginner kit, needs a few upgrades if you stick with playing!
April 28, 2015
Bought this set for our 10-year old to hammer out some stress, then after a few months of persistence, got him drum lessons as he seemed to want to stick with it! It's been about 3 mos. in lessons now & we are definitely happy with this set......it DOES NEED some add-ons to improve it's overall sound and functionality (great review by "By Amazon Customer on December 13, 2004" gives great suggestions on head-upgrades & I bought a good rack-kit (below) on Amazon).

We definitely noticed a difference in the sound as out drum instructor has a set of pearl drums (birch wood with evans heads and higher quality cymbals); our kid was practicing less at home because he noticed the sound difference and enjoyed it less at home. We also noticed we needed to move the toms and cymbals to better positions - thus needing a rack. Racks, like Gibraltar, can run a minimum of $250 via Amazon, even more in a local music store! I found this rack by EDM and clamps that were a GREAT deal and really upgraded the way the kit sits for playing: DRUM RACK KIT - SINGLE - 3 SECTIONS 48x1.5" CHROME with Clamps Feet HIGH QUALITY - Sold by: EDM $89.99. It is chrome, and 1.5" the SAME as Gibraltar and will even fit Gibraltar clamps, but EDM also sells lower-cost clamps at half the cost (2 clamps per $27-29). Bonus, this rack can grow with him for future drum set improvements & add-ons! My next upgrade will be the snare (this snare is a little weak, especially for rim-shots), but I'm taking baby steps as I want to see if he sticks with the lessons.

All-in-all, this is a REALLY kit for a beginner. I think if our kid sticks with it for OVER 1 year, I'd be looking at going to a local music store (or through our drum instructor's connections) and buy a quality wood-set and spend a little more (this will cost you prolly $800 for a GOOD quality set & heads). Not cheap, but if you have a REAL budding drummer and want them to enjoy the sound of what they play, I think a set like that is worth the investment (later on, after diligence!!).

I would say this set if for beginners only - if you are a discerning drummer with some experience I think this kit will leave you wanting a bit more (and by the time you upgrade heads, stands and maybe rack, you'll be spending over $400), so you might want to go for a bit higher quality brand name set -- FYI, this set has NO branding anywhere, it is truly generic.
Lots of potential for these drums.
April 19, 2015
These are great drums for the starters. However id like to point out:
Trash the crash cymbal. The crash cymbal is a joke. It sounds like crap and if you hit hard like I do, it will dent. Invest in either a Zildjan or a Sabian.
Get a better throne. The one I ha bent and broke on the first day and I only weigh 240 pounds.
When you tune the heads, tighten them about three good turns. Most youtube videos out there say like a quarter or half a turn. This one requires more for a tighter head.
Finally, throw a pillow in the bass drum to muff out the excess resonance. This is typical for any set you get.
Overall, after all of the assembly, the drums are great and I like the tone coming from them. The shipping was quick and assembly only took me an hour. WARNING: Have someone help you lift the package. Its extremely heavy.
Great for the money, enjoying it so far!
January 5, 2015
Been using these drums for about a month and a half now. From the other reviews I have read, I would say I agree with most. It's a basic starter kit for adults. Great for the money. To me everything sounds fine except the crash cymbal which can easily be replaced with a better quality cymbal. Which I will be doing very soon.

Also, as other reviewers have stated, the stool is very cheap and will probably fall apart with a heavier drummer. I'm a pretty big guy, so it didn't quite work for me. If you don't weigh as much, then the stool might be fine. But again, an easy, cheap replacement if necessary. And you could always just use a good quality, comfortable chair instead, if you've got one lying around. I'm liking it, and the black color looks really good.

I would also recommend purchasing a heavier pair of sticks if you are playing rock or metal. It comes with a pair, but always good to have a spare and/or different type of sticks, depending on what type of music you are playing.
Great set for the price!
December 25, 2014
We purchased this set as a Christmas present for our 12-year-old son who started band this year. He has Down syndrome, yet we realized at the first band concert, he is amazingly talented when it comes to percussion instruments. Honestly, the kid has been "drumming" on pots, pans and bowls since he could hold a wooden spoon. By now, I should have guessed he has a bit of a gift. Derp!

Well, now, about the drums. For an inexpensive set, these totally rock (no pun intended...well, maybe). They are a solid set that are easily tuned, and easily adjusted to the drummer's playing style, height, reach, and abilities.

The box in which they arrive is a "team lift" effort (according to the side sticker on the box). Thus, I recommend you do with this a partner.

Also, I understand that this product now contains with the assembly instructions. We didn't have this option and had to rely on YouTube videos, and eventually emailed the seller for a .pdf copy. All in all, we managed to put them together, and adjust them to our son's playing style.

Other than the lack of assembly instructions, I have one complaint. The drumsticks are great for an occasional drummer, but not anyone who plays vigilantly, or aggressively. In other words, plan on buying a more quality set when you purchase these drums.

Still, for the price, you will be hard-pressed to find a drum set that can be used by kids and adults alike as well as this one.
Real good starter kit or a kit to build up on.............
March 30, 2013
I've been playing drums since 1983 and this kit is perfect if you don't have tons a money, but be prepared to spend about another $300 to build around it. The Cymbals aren't the best, but not about the cymbals anyways. the heads are lower grade, and the hit hat stand is lower grade, but once again, its all about the actual WOOD, and its REAL GOOD. I am changing all the heads with premium grades, purchasing new cymbals, including the hit hats, and the thrown is low grade. Look. The actual kit itself, is real good, but you just need to add-to it with new premium heads. Once the premium heads are installed, and I replace the cymbals with mid-grades, which is larger hit-hats, at least one 18-20 inch ride, along with some crash and splash, the set will be great. I ordered a double bass foot pedal, so the one bass actually has that double bass sound. I am hardcore on a budget, and have played for years. If you're just starting out, then the kit as is, is fine, but ONLY use the sticks provided, because they're light, and made for the heads. A typical 5A or 5B will destroy the heads that came with this kit, real fast. I also already purchased a Ludwig bass drum head for the front, which is more for cosmetic purposes. Therefore, its a good starter kit as is, or a kit to build on, whether later, or like what I am doing, which is right out of the gate. I highly recommend the kit, because the kit itself, is very well made. I had a question about the kit, and the company contacted me via email lightning fast.

September 25, 2017
I'm really feeling more like a three and a half, but I'll go 4 because I got everything intact and complete. I purposely bought this as an adult as I live in NYC and renting a room in an apt. I also had plans to replace all the heads and use some of it as a portable kit for a few small venue spots and open mics.I was fully aware that this was a kid's kit, but I was disappointed to see some things far smaller than needed, like the high hat. It's super tiny. Still, it will work for my plans. The snare wasn't what I'd hoped. It's a fixed snare like in a cajon, and it's fixed to the "top" head. I think if I flip it over and change the bottom head, my plans will stay intact, but that was a disappointment too.Lastly, the cymbal holder that goes into the bass drum does some weird stuff to the sound. I was getting a horrible ongoing reverberation thru the bass drum every time I hit it. Also, there's not enough give to make a nice crash sound. I can barely tighten the wingnut before it's choking off the cymbal's sound.I resolved the reverb thing by wrapping some tennis grip around the stand and taping off with electric tape. Inserting as little of the stand as possible into the bass drum also helped. And of course, the age old trick of putting some padding or old pillows into the bass drum was good too.
The girls loved it
December 6, 2016
Great toy for the kids, the girls loved it... It's robust and with a nice finishing... The only point that I see to be improved is the assembly manual which could be more detailed when it comes to the hi hat assembly ( @ least 4 non native English speakers), I had to resort to the Internet for clearer instructions.P.S: it can be very loud, you might want to consider that depending where you live..,

December 28, 2015
For this amount of money, these drums are fine. They sound like a kid's first kit for under $200 should sound. They look really cool and pro. My only complaint is that one of the metal rods/hardware was missing for the floor tom, and it's basically unusable until we get that piece. I am not finding any way to directly contact the seller, which is incredibly frustrating.
It is a beautiful drum set with a great sound
January 16, 2015
Gave this to my 4-year old for Christmas. It is a beautiful drum set with a great sound. High quality materials. I rate this a 4 because it arrived in lots and lots of pieces (seriously--lots), and the "instructions" were in poor English and printed on one-side of a half sheet of paper. That said, YouTube saved the day. We found an assembly video for a different brand, and although the process wasn't identical, 2 of us were able to put together the set in about 2 hours. Assembly became a minor issue overall as the look on my son's face and the joy he has had from this has been wonderful to see. Glad I did not go for the inexpensive, primary-colored, non-authentic thick plastic stuff with which he would have been bored within minutes. Not so with this--I recommend this drum set highly.
Great for the money
December 27, 2012
The drums themselves are great for a kid. They aren't anything spectacular but they give my son something to bang on and begin his life as a rock star. Now on to the instructions that come with them....THEY"RE HORRIBLE. Maybe if your a lifelong musician and have put many drum sets together, they'd be sufficient but for parents trying to figure them out on Christmas Eve it was a nightmare. Fortunately my wife and I have a little mechanical skills and were able to manage our way through it. Also wish they'd come with some sort of instructions on tuning the drums. I know they aren't tuned right, but again it's for a child. I am just particular on things being done right.
Excellent beginner drums for child
December 6, 2012
This set is more than just a toy as are so many in this size range. My son uses this set to practice his drum lessons and the quality and sound for an 8 or 9 year old is great.Components:Assembly: Very easy. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes.Drum heads/skins: are good quality and will take a beating. For those interested in high quality sound you'll need to know how to tune them to get the right pitch. Pretty straight forward and this is what you do for professional drums as well. In fact its added value that the drum heads/skins are not fixed in some permanent way but function like a professional drum set.High hat cymbals: work fine and produce a decent sound for a small set.High hat and bass drum pedal: not so good. I find the pedals to be very thin with a tendency to bend or warp slightly. Of course large drums sets have very heavy stands and a small child may not have the strength to work regular kick stands, so there has to be a compromise somewhere. In fact, the pedals are the only reason I haven't given this 5 stars.Drums: the fact that it's a five piece kit is very exciting, and if your child wants to take drum lessons they'll have everything they need to progress through year 1 and beyond. (Typically in year one, lessons introduce the player through the high hat, cymbal, bass drum, and at least one tom-tom. So here you've got all you need.Cymbal: call it ride or crash cymbal - well it's fairly basic. You could in time easily replace it. Not a great sound but a child doesn't know the difference. My only issue really with the cymbal (given that it's a child's drum kit) is its fixed position. The position makes it more of a crash vs. ride cymbal. It would be great if it came with a floor stand instead.Summary: Frankly, if your child is interested in drums, especially for more than just slapping a stick on them, and has an interest in lesson but needs a child size set, I don't think you can beat this drum kit either on quality or price in this price range.

Otherwise its a great beginners
May 16, 2017
I would have given these drums a higher review because my grandson is really enjoying them. However, there is damage on the edge of the mid tom that made it hard to put together. The crash/ride cymbal also has a couple of dents in it. Otherwise its a great beginners set
Hardware defects
February 15, 2017
Just cheap overall. The threaded hole for tightening the drum are defective, which some rods cannot be tightened. Because of this, the drum do not sound the best, since they cannot be fully tightened.
Carefully inspect everything before putting together
May 13, 2016
Part missing from stool. Floor tom heads damaged. Didn't noticed heads were damaged until I went to set them on the rim and they separated. Stool was last thing to assemble. Spent a couple of hours unpacking and assembling set before I noticed. Amazon's only option is to return the whole thing which isn't going to happen because of the size and time involved in assembly. Guess I'm out $40 for new heads and have a useless stool.
everything is working fine but the crash cymbal that was included is bad
February 19, 2016
Cheap set of drums, Im not a pro and this is to play around on. everything is working fine but the crash cymbal that was included is bad. Sounds like a tin can thrown at the floor. replaced that and it is a playable set.
You get what you pay for.
December 7, 2014
I guess I should have lowered my expectations given the price, but with the positive reviews I thought I'd give it a shot. This set was bought as a gift for my son who is in 7th grade. He plays percussion in band and is a good piano player. He's interested in playing drum set as well so we got him this for his birthday. I had been looking at used sets on Craigslist but decided to give this a shot. I was disappointed for a few reasons. Other reviews that said the hardware (meaning cymbal stands, pedals, throne and cymbals) were right - they are very cheap. Sure, you can upgrade them, but by the time you are done, you will have spent the same as what it would cost for a name-brand intermediate set. The shells themselves are not very good quality. The insides of mine were cracked and already delaminating. The drum head rings for the bass drum were slightly bent, not enough to not get the head on but enough to notice. The box this was shipped in was already falling apart on arrival, it did not do well on the trip over the pond. I did some tuning on the drums and it sounds OK. If you have a kid that shows some interest, and you are familiar with drums and how to assemble them, these can work. I'm still not sure if I'm better off, I could have spent $3-400 on a used set and been able to sell them for the same price when I'm done with them. When I'm done with these, I might be able to sell them for $100.

This is a nice set but for younger kids. My 13 year old was disappointed that it was too small for him.

Me and my wife purchased this set for our 4 year old son. I took off a star because it did not come with the instructions to put it together.I had to search for the instructions online. I took off another star because the cymbals are super flimsy and will eventually need to be replaced soon. Other than that, our son loves this set and it will bring him joy for many years to come.

My son loves it. Only issue is the bass drum was damaged upon arrival. It was hidden by the drum ring, but I know it's there.
No Directions and No Help...
January 7, 2015
It is a good set for a kid. Mine came broken, however, and Amazon refunded some of the cost of it. The worst part however is No Directions!!!! We had to stay up late on Christmas Eve and try to figure it out online on an ipad. They have minimal directions on their website, but even those are sparse and apply to a bunch of different versions of the set, so they were not too helpful. The set itself is ok for a junior. The Symbol doesnt really rattle/rotate much and a couple of the drum heads seem cheap, but so far it has held up well when my 5-6 year old beats on it.
Very nice drum set
December 25, 2014
Very nice drum set. However, the instructions are not great and it takes quite awhile to put together. Maybe if you are a drummer, it would be easier to put together and the terminology would make sense. Also, very big issue - we were missing 3 parts that were crucial to complete the set so now we have to wait for the pieces. This was a Christmas gift so we didn't put it together until night before Christmas so very disappointing that parts were missing! Very bad inspection control on the part of Amazon/seller to not ensure all parts were included.

December 25, 2013
So far so good. My boys have been banging away all day and nothing has broke thus far. For the price and the two day shipping, I would definitely recommend especially if you're unsure if the child will stick with wanting to play the drums. Will update to let you know how it holds up.UPDATEProduct did not hold up well. Several pieces fell off,and frequently things started to become loose. If you are looking for something more realistic than a toy, this is for you. If you are looking for a good drum set than skip this.

The set is nice. However the hi hat assembly was missing the bit to secure the upper symbol rendering it useless. I have reached out to best products 3 times and have still not received the replacement part. The set is good for the price with the right tuning. Not pleased at all
December 25, 2015
Sat broken-hearted last night (late on Christmas Eve) attempting to assemble this drum set for one of our kids..only to find that the set was MISSING many parts! So upsetting! Set was missing the drumsticks, base for the stool, "feet" for the bass drum and one other drum. Could not completely assemble.. so Santa brought a half-put together, unusable set of drums this year. Not pleased at all!
Impressive complete set, but cheap hardware makes it high maintenance and not a set that will grow with serious development.
November 25, 2015
Let me start by saying I am a complete beginner and not drum quality knowledgable. However I do know to talk to people (specifically my instructor) who are expert and the drum set turned out to be a completely wrong decision for me. I guess the strength of the set is it is complete, but may items like the throne, cymbals, bass pedal, and drum tops are really cheap and will need to be replaced quickly. That can add up to $450 or so making the cost more like $700.

I know there're are a lot of positive reviews on this set, but it wasn't right for me. My first shipment had at least one lug stripped per drum (that's half a dozen stripped) making the tuning of the drum head impossible. I tried getting replacement lugs and I was sent an entire new drum set. No big, I figured I'd swap parts. The new set had additional issues. The snare locking mechanism had stripped threading and I had my instructor try to tune this drum with a new head (the heads in this set are substandard). He spent the better part of a half hour trying to tune it and finally I told him STOP. It's not worth it. He found stripped threads and also some flaws on the internal drum wood affecting head seating, he told me these drums would be in need of continual tuning. I guess you get what you pay for. His advice was to go to a known brand like Pacific or Yamaha and spend more like $650 - $800 to get drums that have better hardward and are generally better crafted. Additional benefit on going to these popular brands are parts availability (stuff happens on drums). Thank god for Amazon Prime return policy. Oh, also the snare stand was missing from the second set.

I ended up buying a Yamaha Stage Custom Birch 5-Piece Shell Pack - 22" Kick for $650. There are major items missing from the Yamaha like bass kick pedal, cymbals, and snare stand, but my instructor vouches for the sturdy quality and it looks like you get high quality components that are stage and travel resiliant. After getting a really good dual kick pedal and a snare stand I've spent $850 but the quality is superior and they will last me years into my development. So $850 is way more than the $650 paid for the DW, but I have a starter system that can last decades with proper care (I still need to buy cymbals).

My perspective is I was getting a fundamentally sound system that I could build upon and really what I got was a set you can "say" is complete, but doesn't have the beautiful resonant tones an intermediate set has and I'm told that sound is vital for a few reasons. First is the people in your practice area will experience much better sounding drums making tolerability factor improved. Second is it will sound and feel better to you as a student when practicing and learning, which positively contributes to you wanting to keep coming back to the set to practice and improve. Third is less hands on tuning and adjusting to keep the set in tune.

If you are buying this set thinking you may or may not be REALLY committed to learning drums for decades to come, it's a good trial set, but expect to replace it someday.
Built more for junior adolescent rather than adult.

The delivery of this item was excellent, it came two days ahead of projected date of delivery. However the item was first off made in China and the necessity to assemble was a surprise and the the assembly was difficult because the screws sent with the set were substandard and the threads stripped. The holes were set at a difficult angle so it made the attachment of the drum heads very difficult. The stool leg bent when sat upon. Not worth the time and trouble.... High hat cymbal has a very tin like sound. More of a toy than musical instrument. Not what I expected.

We purchased this set and got it together but its been nothing but a disaster. The metal pieces that twist on are always coming loose, the cymbal wouldn't stay up from day 1, the seat is flimsy and falls off. Its a glorified drum set from Toys R Us. Go ahead and buy something a little more sturdy. At this point its in the corner of the room and the kids just sit on the floor and use it.
Cymbals dent really easily
August 7, 2016
Delivered quickly, missing tom tom, got replacement quickly. Let son practice on it and found that it is impossible to tune correctly and the cymbals dent when hit! (And he did not hit them like a crazy person) Not sure if I will return since I don't have a box big enough to send it back. It's in the living room, so everytime I walk by it and see the dents, I get a little peeved.

I only gave this 2 stars, because even though the drums are very nice, almost half of the hardware was missing from the box. rather than hassle with Amazon and the seller, I just ordered the hardware myself. drum kit turned out to be expensive, but the hardware I bought was better quality than the original, so it's ok.
Sad little boy
December 25, 2015
One of the drums came broken, we found the top skin not attached to the drum and no way to attach when it was opened Christmas morning. Don't know how to get this resolved, no one's problem but ours. Sad little boy.I guess you get what you pay for, get a better set!
and probably recommended at a local music shop
August 24, 2015
This has not held up well to our 6 year old's occasional use. Price was low for a "wow" present, but the hardware is cheap and some of of the stands have fallen apart with very little use. I have a hard time seeing a kid who is serious about his drums getting much out of this. If I had to buy another drum set for Christmas, I'd buy something simpler until you know the child is going to actually take lessons. Then I'd buy a serious set that is well made, and probably recommended at a local music shop.
Shipped it back; missing pieces; would have been nice
August 30, 2013
I bought this for my 9 year old. And it would have been nice - good quality - easy set up. However it was missing quite a few pieces - like the bridge to hold the two drums that rest above the bass drum. It was also missing the stand for the snare drum. So I just called back and had amazon do a return shipping, and I did not have to pay for shipping or mess with it. Other reviews had the same comments, so I can NOT recommend this. I would also say for a 9 year old, this set was nice but not big enough in my opinion. It looked better for my 6 year old, not 9+. So I bought another set for about $50 more on amazon, and was a full size set. Once set up I'll do a review as well.

Pieces don't even fit together.

Total waste of money. VERY disappointing. Pieces do not fit together, basically a useless pile of **** that is now doing nothing for me but cluttering my basement.

Horrible. Broke after a few weeks. Really cheap.Cymbal split, snare and other heads broke. Waste of money.
Sad this wasn't a sturdy kit!

I bought this for my grandson, he loved it! HOWEVER, the kick pedal for the drum gave up within the first 2 months--it's a fabric strip and very flimsy. Several other pieces have failed. I hope this review gets the attention of the seller. At least let me know if we can purchase replacement parts!
Not a happy customer here
January 7, 2017
They were way smaller than I thought. The return was complicated, so no I have a set of drums we can't use and trying to sell them on local sale sites. Information was misleading. Finding a UPS store to retune them with a printed label?!?!?! Not a happy customer here!
This was supposedly in like new condition
December 24, 2015
Be leary of buying warehouse deals. This was supposedly in like new condition. It was far from it. The base drum frame was cracked and chewed up. Missing numerous parts. The drumset I'm sure is fine, however I am putting it together to place under the Christmas tree and have found that I do not have all the pieces. Very disappointed.
Super disappointed in this drum set
December 31, 2014
Super disappointed in this drum set. I read all of the reviews and I looked forward to receiving a decent product. What I got was a poorly made drum set. My husband followed the assembly instructions perfectly, but the threads on some of the parts were incomplete and he wasn't able to properly assemble the set. VERY disappointed.
Poorly manufactured - could not assemble and it is cheaply made
December 22, 2013
First, I was unable to assemble the product and am returning it for a refund. Three things were wrong: 1) the bass drum had a crack in the wooden exterior that would have compromised its integrity; 2) one of the 'nuts' for the tighteners was not threaded and therefore unable to be tightened (which would make the drum unusable and; 3) one of the smaller drums had a dent in the plastic bordering on a cut - pretty deep and would have posed a risk had I attempted to tighten that drum for tuning purposes. The external packaging was unblemished so I'm led to believe that these are manufacturing problems that missed quality control on the way out the door.A further note regarding the quality of this set: though the price was reasonable, the set itself is cheaply constructed. The drums all are covered in flimsy plastic attached to a ring - these will give and break with time and not-too-gentle usage. Considering a junior set will not undergo gentle use, this should be a concern for any buyer. My take: if you're looking for something a 5-yr old can use and you're just dipping your toes in the water, this may work for you; otherwise go buy a higher end unit that will be better designed and manufactured. I'll just say I'm thankful I opened this box and tried to put together this Christmas present before Christmas Eve - had I found these problems the night before Christmas, my daughter would have been heartbroken at having a broken drum set waiting for her in the morning.
