Five Star Reviews: | 70% This is a a great bipod that appears to be identical in construction and ... July 9, 2016 Set this up today on a Ruger 10/22 takedown model 21133. This is a a great bipod that appears to be identical in construction and quality to one of my more expensive Harris bi-pods. It works fine with the Ruger BX25 25 round magazine. The magazine does not hit the ground when the rifle is on a level surface. The bipod is solid and stable. Set up is extremely easy. The quick detach lever works great too. Legs extend to 7 inches. I will update this post after I have fired this from a benchrest. So far, I would definitely recommend to other shooters.UPDATE 07/11/16So I ordered The Outdoor Connection Original Padded Super Sling. I had some difficulty trying to mount this sling onto the sling stud. The sling swivel rubs against the legs of the bipod. Be aware that you may need to try several slings in order to mount it correctly so it will work. It looks as if a 2 point sling will work better with this bipod. I will keep updating any other issues. Can't do much better for the price. January 13, 2016 For the price, it would be hard to beat this bipod. It has a sling swivel adapter with a picatinny mount, so it can be attached to any rifle with a swivel stud. It can also be easily swapped to any rail system. I have the swivel adapter on my Savage 308, and mount this directly to the rail on my AR. If you are shooting 30 round AR mags, you might have an issue with the bottom of the mag hitting the table (depending on how your table is set up). When I have my varmint upper on (which is the upper I use this bipod for), I use 10 round mags anyway since the larger ones just seem to be more of a hindrance in prone position, so it doesn't bother me a bit.Seems to be pretty stable, even with the weight of a fairly heavy rifle. If you're wanting a bipod and don't want to spend $100 or more, get this one. You'll only ever have an issue with it when using 30 round AR mags if your shooting table isn't set up so the mag would be in an open space. In response to the reviewer who had trouble adjusting the swivel nut, I had no issue with mine. Loosened the set screw, adjusted the tension screw, tightened the set screw. The only thing that could make this any better would be to offer it with an extra inch or two of extension. But then, I'm sure, the price wouldn't be as good. Great Add-On! March 28, 2015 This bi-pod is beautiful. I recently purchased this to complete my Medium Range rifle project. It is more than I expected it to be, for only costing a little over $40. It is solid, sturdy, and snaps into place. When I say snap, I mean snap! It takes some force to extend and stow it. I have had it now for a few weeks and I have yet to have it move of it's own free will. The screws lock into place and have not come undone yet. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. Fantastic price for this sturdy bipod February 12, 2015 Fantastic price for this sturdy bipod, fits my modified MP10 with a quad rail just perfectly! 20 round mag can be used as well with this, the quick detach (QD) is perfect for someone who will use their firearm In multiplie locations! Deer hunt from a ground blind with a ledge? Pop it on for a stable shot! In a tree... Pop it off if it's In your way when it's folded up! No complaints January 27, 2015 Love the bipod. But if you like 30rds it's an issue if you don't have your mags to overhang a table or the sort. But other than that it's durable and reliable. Five Stars November 28, 2014 This Bipod works great, very sturdy and has decent weight. Clips on a picatinny rail with ease. | 75% WELL BUILT & BETTER THAN EXPECTED!!! January 15, 2017 I originally bought this bipod so my kids could shoot an AR15 at the range and still be able to hit the target without the weight/recoil of it being a problem after a few shots. This bipod worked out much better than I expected. I put the included attachment on their 22 so my wife & I are able to switch it between both rifles quickly & easily. It not only keeps it fun for the kids but our time at the range has increased due to the fatigue of holding a rifle isn't a factor. It has given both of us more personal range time with the pistols while one works on the rifles with the kids. The bipod is well built & very solid. Quickly switches between rifles & adjustments are super easy to accommodate any age/size shooter I will be buying 2 more for my household & a few more as gifts for family members. Good quality for price September 30, 2016 Hands down for the money, the best bipod out there for price. Easily competes with my friends harris bipod which costs double.. the quality is very sturdy on picanny rails (not as great on swivel mount imho) has notches for the legs that are sturdy... i would easily hunt with this bipod Solid & increased fun August 25, 2016 Solid product & increased fun! I put this on my rifle and I can now sit at the range using this to support the rifle on the bench as designed and nail the targets with very tight groups. Adds a fair amount of weight to the end of the gun but with the quick release it can swiftly be removed without much fuss. Other reviewers commented how it can work itself loose however I've not experienced this and it may just be they need to tweak the adjustment screw a bit. With these cam style release levers there is a too tight and a too loose, I've worked with them for years and it's important to have it adjusted right to work right. I foresee many years of use, buy it and have fun! Excellent value. Easy to install on most rifles. Five stars! May 31, 2016 I attached this to a Mossberg MVP rifle in 556/223 and it performed well. While I like the QUICK DETACH level mount (makes it easier to transport rifle if there isn't enough room in the rifle case for bipod to be attached), it is a little loose. Doesn't affect accuracy from 100-600 yards. Just feels a little loose. Being my first bipod, not sure if its a common characteristic for a bipod with a QD lever. Nevertheless, its helped my accuracy, hasn't taken away from my accuracy (this is for bench shooting at the range) and it is an excellent value. Five stars!UPDATE: Bought the same bipod for my Remington 700 CDL in 270. After 60 rounds at the shooting range, this bipod passed the test with a high caliber rifle. Sniper Snobs will pay 4-5x the money for the Harris name. I had a Harris - they're good bipods but not at 4x the cost. Quality Product December 17, 2015 Appears to be a quality product. I haven't had any hands on with the previous/earlier model but I'm glad I spent the extra for this more recent and improved version. Good resistance, sturdy construction, quick release latch, and I like the notches on the legs when you telescope out. I highly recommend the taller one ( 7-12ish). Because the highest of the low is the lowest of the high. Anything lower than that seems redundant. At that point you can use a prop. I couldn't be happier! Save the money this is such a solid ... October 14, 2014 So I decided to roll the dice here and save some cash. I couldn't be happier! Save the money this is such a solid bipod. Easy install solid frame shot great! I have it on my ar10 and it is solid! I'll post a pic here for you guys. We all know you get what you pay for in this shooting world, and I have found that to be true! This is a great buy I would highly recommend this bipod to you. Feel free to shoot me questions if you like. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 20% Thank god for plastic stocks. Lol. June 9, 2017 So I mounted this on my new Savage B22 FV-SR. The front of the stock tapers. This made it a pain to mount the swivel mount adapter. I used a dremel with a 2mm ball tip and created a groove around the mount closest to the trigger and the sides leaving the front alone. This made it "level" enough for the threaded adapter to fit onto the post. The rest of the installation was textbook. But the quick detach is easy.. Then with an Allen wrench can tighten ... April 3, 2016 Very, very, very heavy material. Very short stature which is what I wanted. I mounted on a 22. So there is no recoil. I'm sure it will hold tight way past a 308 no problem. It's a bit heavy.. The legs are thick. But very rigid. I read as post that there mount was a little wobble to it... But the quick detach is easy.. Then with an Allen wrench can tighten 100%. I knocked off a star only cause it was a bit bulky.. But for the price you can't go wrong. I would put it on my Remington 700 .308 in my magpul chassis.. But that is a swivel stud. Great Product For Dudes On A Budget March 20, 2016 For the money this bi-pod does exactly what you need it to, I purchased this to help provide a stable platform for medium to long range hunting/recreational shooting. Definitely satisfied with my purchase. My only gripe would have to be the bi-pod working loose (slightly) after heavy shooting/use, oh and it took me a minute to figure out how to get it properly mounted to the sling swivel, but that was just me being stupid lol! All in all this product does exactly what I need it to! A Good Bipod For Bench Shooting March 2, 2016 A nice compact tactical bipod. It seems decently well made and provides solid support for the front end of my SIG MCX when bench shooting. I deducted 1 star because the legs don't retract unless you get the release buttons pushed all the way in and lined up. Once you're used to them it's not as much of an issue, but if you were in a stressful situation you might not get them popped in as quickly as you'd like. Still a good bipod for the money spent. but can't swivel side to side like other bipods February 24, 2016 Works well for the most part, but can't swivel side to side like other bipods, so if something isn't perfectly level you will notice it thru your optic. If you are shooting with an optic or long range, then this will work just fine. Other than that it should be a good product. I ordered a different model by the ... December 1, 2014 Extended leg length is only around 7 inches. Wasn't as I read in the original description as being compared to an older model, Other than that it should be a good product. I ordered a different model by the same manufacturer to get the longer leg length I wanted.Amazon was GREAT with the return.... Five stars to Amazon!!! Thank You. | 18% Very stable and a good value June 14, 2016 I have one of these on my AR and liked it so I bought another for the AR I built for my wife. The second one was a lot stiffer to fold the legs. So much so that you will hurt yourself folding them if you aren't careful. Another issue was the excessive amount of thread locker used on the set screw that locks the pivot. I nearly stripped the allen end before I resorted to using a propane torch to heat it up. Once I got it out I say they used red thread locker (high strength), instead of blue (medium strength). I cleaned off the red stuff and put on some blue, now it holds yet CAN be loosened if needed without using a torch. Very stable bipod and will buy this again should I find the need for another bipod. Not bad for the price! March 1, 2016 Pretty good deal! Compared to Harris and Atlas bipods, this is a pretty good deal. I needed a bipod I could mount on a rifle but would not reside there all the time, and would just be needed here and there. This fit the bill perfectly for the price.Appears to be well made, does not feel cheap or flimsy at all.Springs are nice and tight, does not flop around. The "panning" feature is really nice - with the bipod mounted (picatinny mount) you have maybe 20-30 degrees of movement rotation left to right.Legs auto retract at the press of a button, very smooth.Only downsides (and reason for a star loss) are these: - Legs do not auto deploy, you have to loosen the knob on the front of each leg and pull the leg to the distance you want. The legs have clicks on them so you know where you are though. - On the picatinny QD mount, the screw that tightens up the mount to your rail comes loose slowly over time, so your bipod will feel loose after you mount and take it off a bunch of times. - The knob up front on each leg that you use to lock and unlock the legs to pull them out, it will loosen up as you are shooting or moving the bipod around. If it loosens up, you could accidentally extend the legs. I really wanted to like this bipod but it is not up to expectations. August 20, 2015 My first bipod purchase was this Tactical OP-2 from UTG TL-BP88Q. I read a ton of reviews and they were all great.Recently I tried a friend's Harris and Cladwell bipods and it really highlighted some of the shortcomings of my UTG bipod. The biggest frustration I have with it is the Quick Disconnect locking lever comes lose nonstop. It doesn't even hold tight enough for me to put the legs down from a folded position. I constantly reach back up and push it tight again. I shoot once, reach up and push it tight. I shoot again, then reach up and push it tight. This happens when I use it with the UTG Swivel Stud Conversion Kits. I purchased a few of these kits so I could use the same bipod on multiple rifles. It comes loose on all of them. Two more minor frustrations I have are that the advertising states the bipod pans/swivels. And surely it does not pan at all. It doesn't move even 1 degree. The last frustration I have with it is that it NEVER attaches to any rifle in a level manner. Meaning, no matter what rifle I use it on (tried using multiple Swivel Stud Conversion Kits) it always makes the rifle unlevel. I need to extend the right leg of the bipod out about an inch to level up my scope crosshairs. (Maybe this is from the faulty Quick Disconnect lever system also?)I wish it panned like the marketing states and I wish it attached to rifles in a level manner. But I can live with both of those. But I would LOVE it if the QD lever would stay tight. I have emailed UTG's support and will update when I hear back. If they make good on this bipod I will update my review.I'm a Michigan resident and have purchased many things from this Michigan based company, Leapers/UTG. I purposely try to support local businesses. But if this isn't somehow made right, I doubt I will be buying anything from them in the future.Update: Working with UTG's Customer Support was very easy. They were super helpful. Their responses were always timely and included the details I needed. I will buy more UTG/Leapers equipment. I sent this bipod into them and they fixed the QD frustrations I had. For that reason I raised it up to 4 Stars. However it does still have some minor shortcomings and does not deserve a 5 Star review. A decent product for the price. But honestly I still never use it since I've purchased a Harris bipod. I'm keeping the UTG bipod around in case I see a use for it someday. This product gets 3 Stars. UTG's Customer Support gets 5 Stars. So overall I gave it 4 Stars. Works Great (after you break the leg springs) and perfect height for an AR June 29, 2015 So this thing really is a Great bi-pod for the price ... great leg retention and when legs are deployed they feel solid and tight .. feet extend to perfect heights and nice foot pads that grip the surface well ... though after a while the spring in one leg busted so when you press the button it does not retract anymore. BUT I like that better ... I like being able to just press the button and let then leg freely drop out of the bi-pod ... but then if I want shorter I can press the button and it doesn't suck it back, it just frees up the leg and and I can adjust each leg SO much easier while the AR is on the bench with the springs in the legs broken. So after the first one broke I realized how much better this functioned and pressed the button on the other leg and just spun the leg till the spring snapped on that leg as well. WORKS GREAT NOW with it broken believe it or not! Very solid October 6, 2014 If I paid $100 for this I'd give it only 3 stars, but for being 1/3 rd the cost it's definitely a 4.Pros: Very solid and attaches to my picatinny flawlessly.Cons: The leg release mechanism is not so well engineered.*Tip: If a leg release latch doesn't fully deploy the leg, gently, turn the leg clockwise (or counter clockwise) while extending and retracting it until the catch/release mechanism works fluidly. great bargain harris substitute. July 19, 2014 Haven't got out to the range yet but playing with it at home it seems great. Not sure how I feel yet about the fact that you pull the legs out, then push the button to auto retract them. I think I'd prefer it to be the other way around like the Harris equivalent. Not enough to pay double the price though. The integral QD mount is nice and once adjusted is good to go. Not high enough quality for scopes but more than sufficient for a bipod. I configured a Harris with swivel and a QD mount and it came to like $150, this is a bargain for 1/3 of the price.I own the utg bipod without the springs, the $25 one, and found that it was too unstable for use with my AR. This one is much more solid feeling and feels like it will hold up to recoil better. The other one is now dedicated for my 22 rifle, and is fine for that.I'm 6'2" and prefer the higher bipods. Even at a bench at the range, 6" is too short. Plus, with an AR this allows the 30 rd mag to clear the table. If you are actually using your bipod as a sniper, swat team, law enforcement, hunter, etc. then you can probably justify the cost of a Harris. If you are like me and just want something stable to use at the range occasionally and maybe use for some varmint hunting here and there, this is the bipod for you. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% Three Stars April 21, 2016 Great Bi-pod, but one spring already broke for the retractable leg, damn... poor design decision February 20, 2016 Panning is near non existent, too difficult to pan and over stresses springs and moves legs before any meaningful panning occurs. For whatever reason the legs are spring assisted to close not open, poor design decision.Works As a bipod, but plenty of weird design decisions Use the swivel adapter for best results. June 4, 2015 Its a little hard to keep it tight, and keep from falling off. Other than that, its your slightly below average bipod. Good price though. good deal March 25, 2015 This is a good quality item for the price. Was really impressed with the quick release mount. Wish I could find the mount separate so I could quickly change bipod around on my rifles. feels sturdy, the screws are cheap. March 11, 2015 It feels super sturdy. Very solid construction. My only complaint is the little hex screw that you use to tighten the QD level; it's junk. If you accidentally overtighten, the screw will dethread. Happened to me, and now my bipod is stuck on my rail. The spring in the right leg failed to operator, ... February 23, 2015 The spring in the right leg failed to operate, after the first time it was used on the range. I have read other accounts indicating the same thing. Other than that, the bipod worked well. I was able to use 20 and 30 round magazines with this bipod, within reason, not a lot of clearance. | 4% Three Stars June 4, 2017 ok, except it is a little loose were it connects to the m-lok rail on my AR-15 A great value but not up to a Harris December 8, 2016 It's just OK in my opinion. A great value but not up to a Harris. I always felt like I cheaped out buying this. It is a good value but I replaced it with a Harris and an A.R.M.S. quick disconnect. Gave the UTG to a friend and he likes it - he should, it was free! amazing bipod but worthless swivel "adapter" October 16, 2016 Bought it to use on my Winchester MP4 .177 model of an AR15 in which it states nothing about needing a stud on the firearm in which place a sling is used, I assumed it was a complete picatinny adapter so I wasted the extra money getting this stupid swivel adapter for this and can only use the bipod which is an amazing one at that but product needs better description such a disappointment From a quality standpoint this item is awesome. Why it is getting 3 stars from me ... November 11, 2015 From a quality standpoint this item is awesome. Why it is getting 3 stars from me is because I intended to use it with a bolt action rifle and I was planning on using the adapter plate. But for me the plat never sat the way i wanted it to and when I would fold down the legs it would move and bend a bit which I did not care for. It would be perfect for mounting this to a Ar platform or something with a rail... Not so good for a bolt action. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 2% Decent with some flaws. December 16, 2015 The spring that retracts one of the legs broke within a month. The QD makes it nice to move from gun to gun. It is not long enough to use on an AR15 with a standard 30 round mag. The mag always seems to hit the ground causing limited shooting angles. looks nice but will not work on many rifles October 1, 2015 product will not fit every high powered rifle, i wish it was stated or came with some sort of fittings to make it work but comes only with one installment way i have 4 rifles will not work on any.other wise it may be ok be sure it will work on yours Wanted to love it.. September 16, 2015 It seems solid but as others have said it's crazy short. Also, mine had globs of superglue on the legs. It just looked cheap. I wanted to really like it and it seemed sturdy. Back to Amazon. Okay but not built for all rifles. This is ... August 24, 2015 Okay but not built for all rifles. This is more a tactical device for show, though I have to say that at least it has real points for settling in for a long range shot. If you spent a crap-ton of money for a rifle and glass, this is not your bipod. If you didn't it is serviceable and will answer. Two Stars November 6, 2014 I like the extending feet but the hand screw stripped so easily and off-centered it. | 2% Don't get this model, get the Super Duty model instead, November 9, 2016 Before I could even use it, one leg was stuck in the in position. Legs were uneven (while in the closed position one leg was resting higher) and the feel wasn't the same as the Super duty UTG model I bought before this one and after this one. Just go for the Super Duty UTG models you won't regret it. Just buy a sand bag April 8, 2016 DO NOT BUY.Upon first glance this is a great product. Mounted well to a rail, and after some grinding the adapter fit well on a sling swivel stud. I liked the finish and appearance of it over all. When it came to actually using it though, horrible. The first time I deployed the legs the bolts holding the legs broke. These legs are under serious spring tension and could cause injury. The only reason it gets two stars is the fact that I received what I ordered and shipped on time. Two Stars June 30, 2015 Looks good feels good bt the stud kit didnt fit my rifle so what to do?? Help anyone?? Won't recommend March 8, 2015 This Bi-pod was amazing when I first got it, nothing more I could asked for. Than one day it rained, the internal springs rusted over and broke. Seriously? If someone went hunting or field shooting with this bi-pod in the rain it would probably break in less than a month. Why couldn't this company put in non-rustable springs or just cover the internal springs. It still works but it won't retract when I press the retract mechanism. I was expecting a high quality product but got something that made question why I bought this. The stand is sable. But one of the spring ... November 1, 2014 The stand is sable. But one of the spring loaded feet has broken it's internal spring. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 3% Buy a Harris like I should have done March 20, 2017 Loose, wobbly, cheaply made. Buy a Harris like I should have done. One of the legs does not want to stay open ... January 21, 2016 One of the legs does not want to stay open most of the time! You have to play with it few times before it stays open Just got this for X-Mas for my sons Ruger 10-22 ... December 26, 2015 Just got this for X-Mas for my sons Ruger 10-22 and the leg are uneven and do not telescope back into place. Returning. Do not buy! It will break December 1, 2015 Bought this on Oct. 27th. Installed and worked great. Went shooting for the first time a month later and the return spring is broken. I was 2 days past being able to return it. What a piece of junk! didn't even get to use it before it broke, and at 40 bucks it should last longer Bipod legs are uneven and is unusable. February 28, 2015 The bipod while sturdy is uneven one leg is shorter than the other and so it is unusable as it does not allow the rifle to sit level. I am very disappointed by this bipod and cannot recommend it. I would have rather paid more money for something that actually was usable. | 1% One Star March 7, 2017 It was all bent up and crooked when I received it. Low quality, you get what you pay for. Garage product. September 20, 2016 The quick disconnect is s***- you gotta keep tightening it with a screw driver to get it to stay tight. The rail has a notch in it so you can see the original sights bit it's off centered so you can't use that anyways. The whole scope sits to the right of center (of bore.) I emailed utg because I had some questions and they never got back to me. I'm going with a better quality side rail. Bad quality. May 9, 2016 Fast shipping but product quality is terrible, after using it once at the range the left leg fails to retract as it should. I've been warned about this company will never buy UTG product again. Too bad. If the defective one wouldn't have been broken ... July 4, 2015 Ordered two. One was defective and one never showed up. Too bad. If the defective one wouldn't have been broken I think it would have been pretty sturdy and nice. I like the idea of the legs being spring loaded. Way easier than pulling them out individually. Get a Harris and don't waste your money. February 23, 2015 I purchased this to use with my .308 rifle and could not get it to hold zero. as soon as i removed this bipod i was key holing rounds. I did use this on my ar to assist in getting a quick zero it did ok there but i will not leave it on my ar. In my opinion this is useless. | 0% There are no reviews yet |
